another good dental clinic is the one off Jomtien beach Road, Soi 5, almost at the end on the left side. Clean, inexpensive - 2 fillings about 1000B, replace crown (in gold so would be more money now) 10,000B. Pretty good English

Hello gentlemen,

This time I am dragging myself away from the city of the Angels(BKK) for some new adventures. My friend Don who resides now in puket will join me and we will travel by train to Hui Hin.

Anyone who has been there and can recommend a Hotel which is reasonable and good and near to night-life? Any info will be greatly appreciated and I shall return the favor by submitting a full review of our experiences there.

Thanks in advance. Martin (Canada)

Excellent Hua Hin Hotel here http://www.baanpaploy.com/

As near as you need to be to the action (2 mins walk) and has all the facilities at a great price. Enjoy :)

Hey guys,

I'm planning a trip from SFO to BKK (with possible side trip) around the Feb. 4/5 to Feb. 17/18 timeframe. Looks like Cathay Pacific has a RT from about 900 through HK and not a long layover. And I just now saw about the same price on China Airlines. I'm a little flexible for the days. But would ideally like to stick to these.

I see fares that are as low or lower but they all appear to involve a long layover and/or two stops (Narita and Taipei, for example).

Is anyone aware of a better choice for me and from your experience how long will this fare on Cathay Pacific be available. (in other words, any hurry here at all)?

I generally fly EVA but they don't appear to have a good fare for this timeframe. And appear to have a fewer number of flights than when I booked for my October trip. I have a Rewards program through them, but otherwise just through Northwest.

Any help will be appreciated, guys. And, of course. Thanks!

If it is a good fair with a short stop over then book sooner than later. The reduce price seats offers only last a certain amount of time.

Can anyone let me know if these Hotels are all GF?

Which do you recommend?

Thara Patong

Also in Bangkok which Hotels do you recommend?

This is our first time in Thailand and we want it to be great.

Well, I booked my flight on Cathay Pacific leaving at 12:05 am Feb 5th SFO to BKK and returning Feb 19th. $960 RT. Don't know that I will get much cheaper than that by waiting. I've got Eva Rewards miles but not as low of a price nor as good of a schedule. Also, using sites like Mobissomo maybe coulda got cheaper using their "multiple airline" suggestions. But figure that's a hassle.

If anyone will be in Thailand during that time let me know. I wi prob stay at Dynasty Grande but haven't booked yet. I also may take a 3-4 day trip to Pattaya and maybe fly to Udon Thani and up to Vientiane for a couple nights. I'm tentatiive on my trips from BKK but will use BKK as my base as I've a buddy there.

Thanks for the help!

Normally for the Asia-Pacific region, the Chinese New Year period is consider "super peak" for the airlines industry. As such fares will normally be at their premium and seats (at times) can be limited due to the mass exodus of people going for holidays or going home.

If you are thinking of traveling to Asia around that time, you need to book early for seats and also be prepare for possible flights delays due to some airlines increasing their number of flights.

Hope that helps.

Who has been to Hua Hin?. Probably my spelling is off. Got a Hotel close to the centre. Apparently near the Railway station. My pal and I have never been there. Time to check out some new scenery.

I was told Hua Hin is the Acapulco of Thailand. The oldest beach resort area in the country. Beaches look alright, if you can trust those pictures that is.

How about the ladies of Hua Hin? Any sharing of info would be much appreciated.

Have a good Christmas everyone. Mark (canada)

$1200? I saw a lot of fares cheaper than that. When are you arriving? I booked a Cathay Pacific flight a few days ago with great connections for $960 for arouind Chinese New Year which is a very busy time...from SFO to BKK...most of the good connections I see are now gone...

When it comes to airfares my experience is..if you snooze, you lose....

Hi all,

Just got my subscription as I'm looking to take mongering to the next level. Done Thailand three times now, and it's starting to be "same same". But I figure there are quite a few members in both Bangkok & Pattaya that could teach me something new about Thailand, or show me some of the secrets I've been missing out on.

Dates aren't confirmed yet, but I'll be in Thailand for a week sometime between Feb 12th and Mar 14th. If there are any members who are going to be in those areas around those times, drop me a PM and maybe we can meet up.

I'm in my late 20's, laid back and open minded, prefer my ladies young & very petite, and I usually enjoy a good mix of drinks, conversation, and mongering when I go on these sorts of trips.

Any help/advice is always appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of flying either Asia Air or Nok Air from BKK to Udon Thani on Saturday, Feb. 15th and then heading up directly to Vientiane and staying there two nights before flying back to BKK on that Monday, Feb. 17th.

Based on your experience, how long can I wait to book this flight and still be reasonably assured of getting the flight and times I want? My friend in BKK won't know if he can go for sure until mid January or so. Do I just book it now or will I be ok if I wait? I'm just not sure how to work this for the Thai domestic flights.

Thanks!

Usually, you wouldn't have much problem if you book your flight one week before departure (by the way, you may get better rates if you book online), but... you will travel one day after Chinese New Year (February 14th next year), therefore, I would advise you to book everything (flight and accommodation) as soon as possible (at least two weeks earlier) because many Thai people of Chinese descent (among other people) will travel and stay in hotels at this period of the year.

This year I have successfuly booked Air Asia to Udon, CM, KL, Singapore etc and all on less than 48 hours notice at a reasonable price.
Obviously if you book early you get the cheapest price, however the difference wont kill a rich guy like you !!

You must be looking at the guy behind me, FF, when you talk about the rich guy. LOL. Or is it the guy in your mirror? Ha.

Well, I'm finding out it's Chinese New Year about that time and still want to wait to book because my buddy in BKK won't know if he can go until after Jan. 1. So I don't want to risk them being full, but would prefer to wait and book after Jan. 1 if I think there's still going to be seats, but this "Chinese New Year's thing on Feb. 14th" has me nervous because I"d be looking at flying to Udon on Feb. 13th and returning on the 15th where I'd bus up to Vientiane for two nights. Hmm.

I guess I can just chance it and wait and if there's no flights I wasn't meant to go to Udon and Vientiane this time? Also, I fouind out the Lao Orchid hotel is full for that time. Anyone got any good suggestons for a Vientiane hotel near the action. The little that there might be?

Thanks!

I've decided to take a break from my normal trips to Germany for sex and visit Thailand for 2 weeks. I was last there 10 years ago, but had a normal girlfriend with me, and I only managed to shag 2 Thai women on that trip. So I dont have much real sex experience in Thailand.

Truth is that I dont find Thai Women as attractive as Big Bottomed Blonde European women but Im still happy to fuck Thai women of course. I also plan to investigate the Russian woman scene there, as it doesnt seem to be too well reported on, apart from reports saying to stay away from Galaxy GoGo on Walking street. I know the Russian women are supposed to be a rip off but I want to check it out anyway.

Anyway I should arrive in Pattaya on the evening of Monday Jan 11th. I may stay until Jan 25th when I fly home or I may leave Pattaya on the 21st and go to Bangkok for a few days. Still havent made my mind up on that...

I would be happy to meet up with anyone from here. Please pm or leave reply here.

I am planning a weeks holiday towards the end of Jan or the beginning of feb and looking at Thailand. There are many posts on this site regarding various places, but I can not decide.

What I am planning is a direct flight from London, and can not decide where to go, I guess htere are sme places better than others, and some safer too.

Would it be best not to book accommodation and try a walk in at a recommended hotel?

I will be looking to mooch around during the day, may be a little mongering, but really looking for LT during the evening (good value of course)

Any suggestions would be greatly welcome.

Thanks

I'm heading to BKK Jan 12-18 and staying at S Sukhumvit Suites (right outside Soi Cowboy it looks like) and was wondering if anyone wants to lend their expertise by having a few drinks with me and a buddy of mine?

I'm trying to do the whole sightseeing thing too, so I would also like to know the best places to eat and what sites to see in Bangkok, Thailand. I've been researching here for a while now, but you never know unless you experienced the real thing.

welll welshboy, besides the usual RTFF, IF you (likely) cannot speak any Thai, stay in one of the "big" areas - Bangkok (lots of places there), Pattaya (world's largest open air ho'-house), Phuket if you like beaches, maybe Chiang Mai. At least learn a few Thai words - how to count (particularly), hello, how much, where is the toilet... etc :)

Try Patong/phuket if you get time, just returned from 2 weeks there over Christmas and new year, the place goes off. Heaps off action and heaps off tourist things to do. I'm heading back there in 4 weeks for a month.Phuket is cleaner, has no smog and great beaches. Due to tourism being down some 50% the girls are very eager to hustle you. Beside P4P I recommend that you peruse the Thaikisses.comThailandfriends.comand Thaifrau. De sites for "good girls" I e free shags. The latter 2 are free, the former cost EUR30.. To join but well worth it.

Don't fixate on Patong, there's lots of good action in Chalong and downtown Phuket Town as well.

If you rent a car I'll be happy to show you around. Will be there till March.

Have fun!

Hi;

There is so much information to absorb here so I'm hoping I can get pointed in the right direction for my trip.

I'm planning to go to Thailand early March 1 to about March 14 and was planning an entire trip over there for two weeks. There seems to be lot of places to go visit. Is there a primier for planning such a trip?

Here are some of my general questions.

1. Airfare seems to be about $1,200 so do I just fly in to Bangkok?

2. Do I just stay in Bangkok and if other places how many days would I need?

3. Where do I hotels which are provider friendly?

4. I plan to take a gal out all night just for the heck of it. Any places for recommendations?

5. Where can I pick up gals? I heard it not a good thing since I don't know if they have any diseases.

Any suggestions or anything to point me in the right direction would be appreciated..

Last year 2009 there were 355 murders and homicides on Phuket alone, not counting any flaky "suicides". I've been here for 2 months only and my life has bee threatened twice already (by 1 farang and 1Thai). Last time I had a big scary diving knife and a crossbow for protection. Unfortunately I lost those in a shipwreck and now need to replace them The weapons were legally bought from a hunting / fishing / diving supply store on the Patong Beach Road (Phuket) that does not exist any more. Anybody know where they might have moved to or another source? Or anybody know any mail order source in Thailand that ships this kind of stuff, please PM me.

Or anybody know any mail order source in Thailand that ships this kind of stuff, please PM me.I am seriously intrigued... Did you actually walk around with a crossbow and a big knife in your waistband? I've never found the need for such things either in LOS or elsewhere, but perhaps I prefer flight to fight...

you can buy on line from anywhere in the world. My next question: did you even log on to Air Asia site to see if you can buy online? I always buy them from the States.

Unlike Duni, I cannot buy Air Asia tickets online from the USA. Actually, it doesn't matter where I am, I can't buy online. The reason is my credit cards. All my credit cards are issued in the USA, and get declined. Even my ATM.

So if you have tried online, and get declined, that could be the reason. On the other hand, it seems Duni can do it. Duni, you use USA issued CCs ?

I have to call the international phone number to buy direct. I suggest calling Singapore, it is faster than calling the people in Malaysia.

My initial try failed because American Express security blocked the purchase as a possible unauthorized charge from a foreign country. I called Amex security, authorized Air Asia as a vendor and my charge and ticket purchase went through with no problems the next time.

I booked online last time in August 2009.

A recent phenomenon. Due to massive fraud, many small Asian airlines have blocked international CCs. Have the same problem with Indian airlines. Perhaps Air Asia has done the same. My apologies for doubting you guys.

However, Amex cards are usually accepted for booking.

When this happens to me I talk to them on the phone and when the CC fails over the phone they let me pay an Air Asia rep at the Air Asia office or airport if it's withing a certain time period. I've only booked while in Asia though so i don't know how it works in the US.

Given that there is word they are going to start up operations out of the west coast (Oakland) that is not good marketing. I tried booking a series of flights in SE Asia through them, and gave up because of CC denials. Ended up booking 8 flights through 4 different carriers at a higher cost, but fighting AA wasn't worth it.

I agree is waste of money I know they are planning flight form asia to the US in the future, I am also living in the oakland bay area, but only few people know about the NFL Oakland Raider in asia cost them alot of money to put the loser Raider logo on that plane maybe that while they are losing money.

U r saying u hv made a fun only but it’s made me a long tour. Thnx for that.

Being an alone traveler I took the comments seriously; my ticket was bought for 28.1.2010 and I’ve booked my room at Thai Miami for couple of days. My plan was BKK+Udon Thani+ BKK+Patt.

While landing on BKK certainly I wondered if I will be able to skip BKK 2nd time I'm getting more time for other destinations. From the airport I phoned one of my buddy was larking on BKK "can I travel to Patt from Mochit by bus"? He said "No u have to arrive on Ekamai for Patt". Instantly I changed my plan skipping the BKK city and made my plan as Udon+BKK+Patt + Suvarnabhumi.

My phobia about the traffics hassles derived me to skip out of the city. Since it was not my first time in BKK but I'm not well known about the city routes. On my first tour I got serious sickness on arriving day and it made my senior to arrive in the city to get me out. After buying my bus ticket for Udon I found there are many buses for patt from Mochit also. I shouted to my buddy “u stupid going to pay for the wrong info” (he answered oh Yah ! he he he). I’m going to loss one day payment for my hotel booking. What a nice plan it was BKK+Udon+Patt+ Suvarnabhumi.

Thnx to Opebo (An experienced one for Issan Zone) providing absolute info for me personally and I’m going to SUbmit my report on respective forum.

Patts closed to all farangs. Try alternate destination like Isaan. Good luck.

Just booked a round trip from Las Vegas to BKK, $1725.00 total for me and my wife. The plan is to spend a few nights at the Majestic Grande in BKK, about 3 nights in Chiang Mai at the Raming Lodge, then about a week in Pattaya, probably at Bay Walk Residence. I've gotten so much useful information from the regulars on this forum and we are really psyched for the trip (April 8-24).

My lovely wife is a ravenous bisexual who loves seeing me with other women and joining in. This is going to be one hell of a vacation!

I would never use this kind of service, because the trip from Bangkok to Pattaya is a short one (during less than 2 hours usually) and moreover, because the prices for this kind of service are (IMHO) ridiculously high, but if it's really what you want to do, you can find it for instance there:
http://www.mistysagogo.com/transport.htm
http://www.penthousehotel.com/taxi_pattaya_transportation_bangkok_cab_international_airport_limousine_suvarnabhumi_pickup_escort_thai_girls_car_penthouse_boutique_hotel.html

But remember that you can also use a reliable taxi service such as this one, for instance: http://www.pttaxiservice.com/
No girls with them, but you can have plenty once in Pattaya with the money that you will save on the trip!

Any suggestions?

I assume this is ok to post this question here. I should have enough points for a free flight next winter, but I'd like to go sooner. I've been searching on line for a decent price on a flight for the summer but haven't found anything good. I'm in Ontario, Canada but if I can find something really good from anywhere in the North Eastern US I could probably make it work.

I've heard some travel agents can get better deals but I haven't looked into that too much yet. I had a couple of emails with one who told me there aren't any good prices in the summer.

If I can't find a good deal I'll probably go somewhere else this summer but I would like to go back to LOS. Any suggestions?

FYI to other guys thinking about changing their plans, Thai Airways is giving full refunds because of the problems in Bangkok right now. There is no cancelation fee to pay. I just called this morning to cancel my ticket and they let me know this. Not sure about the other airlines, though.

I think aslong as you stay out of the financial area and city centre area, you should be fine. I've talked to a few thai chicks that live near Sukhumvit area and they said it's safe aslong as you avoid the redshirt areas. I have no plans to cancel and I am going at the end of May. I read bangkokpost.com everyday too to see the news or updates.

5) VR Taxi Private Service

Website: http://www.pattaya-taxi.com/

I used them last year and will do so again this year. Driver met us at the airport, didn't speak a word of english - but he knew exactly where we were going. Thanks Goyave, Bronx, Scout and ThaiLearning. Much appreciate your help. Do you recommend any place to stay. I want to stay close to walking street and beach.

PS: Shane I would leave Pattaya early in the morning on 4th July unfortunately.

Can any tell me the going rate for a apartment a/c wi/fi per month between soi bouycow and third road. staying 3-5 months, does not have to be big. That is a pretty general question without knowing exactly what you want to spend?

These apartments can range from 3500 baht to maybe 15,000 baht. The cheaper in general you will see them located in a more condense area building right up against each other with clothes hanging outside the windows or balconies. These apartment generally do not have tubs with shower and toilet all in one as I call it. You be lucky if one of these places have WiFi but generally have Internet shops just outside of Apartments.

Here is a few samples:

Simmporm Apartment, located on or just off 3rd road on the corner across from X-Zyte night club. 373/2 M.9 Pattaya 3rd Rd. Mobile: 083-7111202 or 081-4517999, monthly rate is 5,000-6,000 baht excluding electric and water.

There is another apartment down from this place towards Soi Buakhao, with a coffee shop outside monthly is 3,500 per month, but is generally full for months. Sorry never got a card because they never seem to have one!

SaengChan Mansion: 64/2 Moo 9, Chalermphrakiat 19, lost track but I think 7,000 baht per month. 038-720988-9

Smile Mansion: 66/39 Moo 9 Soi Buakaow, smile_mansion@hotmail.com lost track but I think 7/8,000 per month.

My stereotype is the more clothes hanging out the cheaper it gets!

Hi guys,

Let's not turn this Travel Plans & Announcements thread into a discussion thread.

I will be in Pattaya on the same weekend.

More than happy to meet up for a beer or two.

In Thailand May 14-30, mainly Bangkok and some regional travel to Jakarta. Will have 3-4 days in Pattaya, proba weekend 20-24. have lived in Thailand and have useful language skills.

Although I usually prefer 'solo operations', hooking up for a few beers to get the evening oing wouldn't be a bad thing. Feel free to PM me.

Guys

I'll be making my second trip to Thailand 22-31 July. I loved CM on my first trip so will spend most time there, then a few days in Bangkok.

I enjoy drinking and intelligent conversation and would like to meet any ISG members around the place. I'm aged late 40s but keep fit and get on with interesting people of all ages.

On my first trip I found I wasn't so much into go go bars or the slicker end of the industry. I prefer the beer bars and freelancers and I also like Thailand so my trip is not your classic 100% monger expedition, however mongering in whatever form is at the heart of it.

Cheers,

Encore

Due to my job relocating back to the United States recently, I am forced to sell a brand new, never lived in 1 Bedroom Condo (Fully furnished even with TV and cable channels paid up for the year as well as all maintenance fees paid) that is only 700 meters from the Jomtien beach. The Condo is on the 2nd floor overlooking the tropical resort style pool and is in Phase 1 of Park Lane Jomtien. This is a highly sought after unit due to pool view and access to elevator/stairs and bridge leading to gym and cafe. This condo is in a Foreign Freehold, which means it can be owned out right by anyone without the hassle of using a Thai Corporation or any other method. A simple transfer and it's yours free and clear. For more information please feel free to email me. I am the owner, not a real estate agent. Ready for fast sell and will meet the buyer in Thailand for final transaction.

1 bedroom/1 bath 36 sq. Meters (to American/Euro standards) fully furnished. A great deal for the buyer looking to buy quick. Great for someone working in the Middle East/Asia as a getaway on R&R or as rental property. (would stay booked from contractors. LOL) I just do not have time to travel to Thailand like I use to and wish to use the cash for another investment.

Asking $42000 US or best offer. Contact me here if interested and we can discuss offline or via email. Priced for fast sale.

864-676-Will be in patts for the first time tomorrow night(clap, cheer, jump. Joyhjoy)

My mission, which I choose to accept, is to spend a week in the heart of walking street precinct. Then another week in and around the beerbar sois.

While there on a single mans mission, will also be packing in the tourists sites during the day, so I'll be run off my feet I think, well for a couple of days atleast when theres no more touristy things left to do. Then I'll just be flat on my back.

So if I bump into anyone, say hello, I'll be wearing a white rose on my shirt so everyone recognizes me (as if).

No, seriously, I'm easy to spot, I'd be the only one there that looks like a tourist!

Just got in, already nailed two 19 year old cuties, one I discovered at random on the BTS. Nana has gone to the dogs compared to Soi Cowboy. Anyway, would love to catch up with some mongers interested in young, sweet pussy and mind altering blow jobs, a few cold beers. Good for the soul and puts a spring in your step.

I can not make the Bell Service Bus but they were kind enough to send on info additional info on buses to Pattaya-

There are 2 other buses which are operated by another company.

1. A 19:00 bus departs from Airport Bus Terminal. You will have to take a shuttle bus to the Airport Bus Terminal. Its website is www.pattayabus.com

2. A 21:00 bus departs from Level 1 at Gate# 7-8. Its website is www.airportpattayabus.com

I hope that we can serve you in the future.

For more info of our service, please kindly visit www.belltravelservice.com Which you can reserve your seats through the website.

Sure, anytime. Problem is I can't send you a message because you're not a senior member. Give me a call through the reception at sanya-apartments dot com and tell them you want to speak to the German who checked in febr. 16 or just leave your local number.

I am just curious as to.

1. Do people really read this thread?

2. Do they really give a damn about "joe or Peter is coming to Pattaya next month"

3. Do they really reply and are successful to meet?

No disrespect to anyone, just curious.
