My travel preparation is almost complete. I will be on a 10 day break begining 2nd week of August in Thailnd. This will be my 3rd time. The first time, I was in Bangkok for only 3 days and stayed in the Sukhumvit Area. The 2nd time, I was in Pattaya for 4 days and stayed near walking street. This time, I would like to travel a little more to expand my expereince (of course I will be in Pattaya for at least a few days). Unfortunately, I am not sure how I should divide this 10 days for maximum enjoyment. Any suggesstion from anyone?
Just my opinion but I would spend about 1/2 my time in the 10 days in Phuket and the rest back in Bkk. There are a lot of great places to find and enjoy in Bkk. Exploring is the fun part to me.

I would love to visit phuket, but how do I get to Phuket from Pattaya or should I go to Pattaya from Phuket? One thing I can do is may be book a air asia flight from Bangkok airport after landing to Phuket but still I have to get back to Pattaya. I would hate to spent 2500 baht or so in a taxi ride from phuket to Pattaya.

Personally, if your wish is to see Phuket, I would go to Phuket first using BKK as your base. Not sure if you can get to Phuket from the new ( really not new any longer ) Airport? Others would be able to answer that question. If so, when you come back from Phuket you can just go from the new airport to Pattaya, the distant is shorter! if they are still using the old Airport, when you come back from Phuket, maybe stay a night or two in BKK, before heading to Pattaya.
Hope this gives you something to think about. Gives you some flexibilty to stay longer or stay shorter as you feel out each place. Taxi fees from airport to BKK, might run you from 250-400 depending. Always ask them to turn the meter on and if you use the tollway there is a charge.
Enjoy! LBM

Thanks LBM. I probably will visit phuket for a day or 2 towards the end of the trip.
Now, can anyone tell me where/ how to get a mobile SIM? Do I get it at the airport or buy it in Pattaya (where I plan to stay in the begining). What document is required?

Man,
When you get to Pattaya, dependent on where you stay and which type of company sim you want either way you can find them easily. Royal Garden, Big C, Tesco Lotus, 7/11 stores for D-Tac, your phone will need to be unlock if not already. Also if you know your way around Tuk-com builiding in Pattaya Tai. What documents are you talking about! For phones you don't need a anything.

Desi, walk into a 7-11 and buy a SIM card. The only document you need is a 500 Bt note.

I heard a rumor today that a law had been passed or was under consideration for passage which bans or will ban the provision of hostesses 'to sing with you' in kareokes. Assuming this rumor is accurate, in future one may only attend kareoke for the ostensible purpose - singing with one's friends - and not for the real one.
Has anyone heard about this? Of course a kareoke is a miserable place, but it is often the only way to (even attempt to) get laid in many Thai towns.

www.bangkokair.com is the only company that flies Phuket to Pattaya (utaopa airport) or vice versa. I have to say that the flight from Phuket to Pattaya is very good but I would book a taxi from Pattaya airport to Pattaya as the taxis at the airport are expensive or you can get a mini bus which will only drop you in certain areas of Pattaya.
I have only ever travelled Phuket to Pattaya with them and I take the afternoon flight as the earlier one stops off in Samui.
I also prefer going to Phuket first for the more relaxed atmosphere then to the full on part of the holiday in Pattaya

So, I can book a flight online at airasia.com and after arriving at the international terminal, clearing customs, collecting luggage, I can walk to the domestic wing in the same terminal to fly to phuket?
So, I can book a flight online at airasia.com and after arriving at the international terminal, clearing customs, collecting luggage, I can walk to the domestic wing in the same terminal to fly to phuket?Sure can.
You'll come out of immigration/baggage/customs on level 2, and then proceed up to level 4 to check back in for your Air Asia flight.
Air Asia check-in is at the E row (if I remember right). Just make sure you check in at least 45 minutes before your flight or you'll lose your ticket.

Yes, you can!
For as little as approximately $45/EUR30 for a single trip.
However, take into account that your baggage allowance is only15 kilos for checked baggage.
So if you have a heavy suitcase you'll have to pay for the excess luggage. You can check on their website how much they charge.
As I always travel light I've never had to pay extra.

So, I can book a flight online at airasia.com and after arriving at the international terminal, clearing customs, collecting luggage, I can walk to the domestic wing in the same terminal to fly to phuket?Just be sure to leave enough time. BKK is one of the world's biggest airports. Not crowded, just huge.
BKK is one of the world's biggest airports. Not crowded, just huge. And badly laid out. Changi for example is even larger but it seems you never have to walk more than 100m or so. At Swampyphum it's often closer to a kilometer. Between the distances and the confusing signage, a lot of people miss connections here.
I'd be grateful for some advice:
I'm attending a conference in Singapore later this year, and I'd like to fly my TGF out there for company. She has travelled there once before in the company of another man, and was questioned at Immigration before being let in. I won't be able to accompany her through Immigration on this occasion, although I can meet her at the airport.
Does anyone know what documentation she would require to get through Immigration easily? Return flight ticket? Evidence of hotel booking? Enough funds? I suspect she may wish to stay on after I depart (presumably to do some local sightseeing?) so a return ticket might be awkward.
Thanks in advance.
PS If you want to know why I am bringing a Thai girl to Singapore, it's because I like her... :-)
Mouse. I am surprised. Singapore and Thailand are both members of ASEAN, meaning free travel and no visas needed between those countries.
It might have been a one off situation, OTOH, Thai girls are known for flying to S'pore for a week or so, to work, as ST and LT prices are higher than Thailand. So immigration at Changi might be looking for a pattern, and ask a few questions to all pretty TGs.
If you get her a return ticket, make sure it is a ticket which can be changed with no fee, or a very small fee. Or buy her a ticket, which is electronic, which can be cancelled without penalty. Once she has the print out, cancel the ticket, and buy her the real ticket she is planning on using. (I do this with hotel bookings for my indo GF, so she can show the european embassy where she is applying for a visa that she does, in fact, have a hotel booked, and paid for. I make the booking, pring out the confirmation, then immediately cancel it).
PS. if you do that, make sure her real flight is the same as the cancelled one. it would look strange if she shows an "E" ticket landing at 10.00 pm, when she in fact landed at 11.00 am. but at least, her return ticket is ..........up to you.

Up to you if you want to front her the dough but no funds and no return ticket would spell trouble. I have an old hooker friend who goes there all the time shopping, for customers.
On another matter, I see some guy is selling videos of his Bkk/Pattaya experiences on ebay and doing quite well at it too. Hundreds of positive feedbacks. Takes all types.
What's been happening in LOS {Land Of Scams} lately:
ThailAnd as a tourist destiation has never really recovered since the tsunami in 2004.
Just as it started to pick up we had the coup with tanks on the streets.
At the same time the stand in government changed the rules overnight about Expats dealing with Thais, they they did a complete U turn the next day causing utter confusion,
Then we have had the red shirts & yelow shirts with their two bahts worth. yet more tanks on the streets
Bombs in Bangkok over the New years,
Cancelled sean summit which was broadacast worldwide,
Closing the main airport & stranding passengers. Also over the past 18 months the Baht has gone from 70 to 52/53 thats a 25% rise for tourists, at the same time the high cost of fuel, has caused the prices for everything including bowls of rice to go up. All this means that Thailand is no longer a cheap place to live or visit compared to other Asian destinations
Others of highlighted the visa requirements, and now the scammers are more brazen
Instead of the shop / bar owners critsing the visitors for not coming or been stingy, maybe they should look at the reasons why & blame people closer to home.
What's been happening in LOS {Land Of Scams} lately: Good luck I am not alone in thinking that something wrong in land of smile.
Costs rise for tourist to go there. And yes you still see thais in new cars new motorbike. Even upcountry new cars new motorbike. LooKing carefully.
Look like they have still good buying power. But from where the moneys comes as average salary up country is only around 8000 to 12000 Baht. A new motorbike is easy 50.000 baht and a new car over 600.000 baht. Damm how they can buy? Lately we told to a ISG member teacher upcountry that may be 30.000 salary is not enouth. So how then you buy with wage 8 to 12.
Lately my daughter thai called me. Papa technic scool now very expensive. Food gazoline for motorbike and fees Baht 6000 per month.
How then thais do with 8000 baht salary for a all family. Oh yes may be all of them have a sponsor farang. Sometime I believe this. Each family upcountry have one or two girl in Pattaya or Bangkok prostitution. Or looking for sponsors.
I am leaving near nakon sawan. Have count once two hundred family having girls in Pattaya. Checking around from where the money of thai owning new nice house in my area comes from. With no exeptions all of them have someone working in Pattaya phuket or Bangkok. Or have farang.
I just write down what I am thingking right now. Because tomorow my daughter need a note book 20.000 TO 30.000 as a farang I pay cash. Do thai pay cash? Don't think so. But friend of daughter have new note book and no farang in family. THEY ARE SIMPLY RICE FARMER. End of the story for today.

In looking online for an October 23 flight to Bkk with a return Nov. 8, it appears I can get an EVA flight for $738 via Orbitz vs. $783 through the EVA web site.
Generally, it seems the web site is cheaper. Any reason I should book the higher cost through the EVA web site instead of booking through the Orbitz site?
Thanks,

If you collect Eva air miles check what each price offers on the air miles.
If not then just go for the cheapest.

I will be going to LOS for 2 weeks in late sept, home early oct.. 3 days in BKK, 8 days in PTY and then back up to BKK again...
I know the rain and crappy weather that might happen.. But I wonder how everything is moving at that time? Do the "establishments" close down as the girls go home during off season or is it normal action as always?
And how is it with this effing swineflu?? Read in the news that people should not go to places where people are.. like to dinner, cinemas, clubs...
Is it noticable ?

Is it noticable ?No, you will find that the girls are still where they are suppose to be. Just less tourists means you can use your bargaining skills. PTY is pretty quiet as far as the tourist crowd is concern, but I was there last week and the girls are still there. As for Bkk, this is probably a really good time because I went to Nana a few days ago and there were many stunners there even though it was after 10pm when I got there. This can only mean that the recession is taking it's toll.
I see mostly Arabic and Indian (from India) tourist here now. Also the petty crimes is on the rises because of the slow down in business, so becareful when you are moving about.

Hummm ... I wonder whether this will get rid of all the taxi touts and hustlers, or simply remove the cheaper taxi options.
In general what it will mean is the dark influence will now make tourists suffer in other ways.
Have you noticed there is now no trolleys available at the taxi drop off area's? Only if you are very lucky will you get one.
Its the strange way the Thai mind works, but someone will link this lack of trollies to there being no hustlers and scammers, and perhaps the hustlers and scammers were actuallty putting trollies out for drop off passangers, so in fact the scammers and hustlers are good, and so they should be allowed back.

Hummm ... I wonder whether this will get rid of all the taxi touts and hustlers, or simply remove the cheaper taxi options. It will probably do absolutely nothing. I came through Swampypoom the last time they had one of these 'crackdowns' and my driver -- from the regular AOT public taxi stand, the best and safest place to catch a cab there -- was laughing at the absurdity of all. 'They speak English and I don't,' he said, referring to the 'ghost taxis'. 'They wear sportsjackets and I wear a plain blue shirt. They pay the police more than I ever could. How can I expect to get any passengers when they're around?' He'd waited 2 hours for his first fare that day, me.

Hopefully the touts and the hustlers.
On one trip I went through customs then went to change some cash to baht.
I turned around and there were 6 taxi touts all wanting my business.
I just said a friend is comming to pick me up and they all left me alone.
I had already had booked a taxi.
I did a check again today on the Bank of Ayudhya ATM (the yellow ones with Krung Siri on them).
I am glad I did as I came across a very interesting twist.
I took out 15,000 baht from a UK account (Visa Debit and not Visa Credit) and then immediatly went to my own on line banking and also the B of A website.
http://www.krungsri.com/en/foreign-exchange-rates.aspx
The amount worked out at 56.615 baht to the pound after charges at the UK end (checking how much sterling my account was reduced by, divided by the 15,000 baht received)
So the interesting thing for me was not that the BofA is still not charging the 150baht, but the fact that they give you the "Sight Bill" exchange rate (same as travellers cheques) which is higher than the exchange rate you would get for cash, and without having to pay service charges to get travellers cheques issued.
All in all taking money out via ATM from Bank Of Ayudhya is the most cost effective way of getting cash, better exchange rate than cash, and no service charge and hassle like TC's.
I will check sometime whether UOB also gives you the rate of "Sight Bill" when taking money out of their ATM's.
Sorry typo, should have said 55.615 in the earlier post (in case anyone was wondering where you get 56.615 from).

I've been using UOB for the past few weeks exclusively. How do I check this 'sight bill' stuff?
I've been using UOB for the past few weeks exclusively. How do I check this 'sight bill' stuff?Check what the "Buying cash" and what the "Buying Sight Bill" rates are, and see which one you get from UOB (by dividing the Thai baht you take out into the amount your foreign currency account goes down by).
You can find all the exchange rates for UOB here.
http://www.uob.co.th/business/foreign-exchange-rates.htm
As you can see from this for GBP they buy your cash notes at 55.15 baht to the pound, but they buy sight bill (TC etc..) at 55.591 to the pound. So after your Thai baht withdrawel check what the rate is, is it near to the cash rate or the sight bill rate.
For me the Bank of Ayudhya have "Sight Bill" rates.

I found a way to get my Thai girl fix without going to Thailand.
There are a lot of Thai girls working here in the states as Au Pairs. Most of them are between 22 and 27, all their bills are paid for by the Au Pair system, what you do is look for a local Thai Temple and try to get a group together that will teach you Thai. Their English is real basic, so it works both ways, become friends with them and..... Most of these girls are looking for a way to stay in the states, and after their contract is up they have up to 6 months to travel on their Au Pair visa before they have to return home.
Just promise them what they want to hear, and you can have a lot of fun. LOL

"Taxi services at Suvarnabhumi airport are coming under tighter scrutiny after a passenger accused a driver registered with the airport of trying to drug her."
Writer: Bangkokpost.com
Published: 12/08/2009 at 10:44 PM
http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/151627/airport-taxis-under-close-scrutiny
The passenger, who asked not to be named, said she caught a taxi from the stand at the airport on July 27 to take her to Phloenchit Road.
She said she did not mind paying the airport taxi surcharge of 50 baht as she believed the service was safe and reliable. The driver's name and telephone number were registered with the airport.
The woman said she noticed the driver wore dark glasses and drove slowly despite the fact there was not much traffic.
At one point in the journey the driver blocked the air-conditioning console with his left hand and the woman said she started to feel giddy about five minutes later and her arms and legs went numb.
She felt like she had been given an anaesthetic before an operation. She had to open the window to get some air and told the driver to drop her off.
The woman went to a nearby hospital and had herself checked, but no toxic substances were found.
The woman complained to the airport's public transport centre but she does not believe any action has been taken.
A source at the Transport Ministry said other passengers had complained of similar incidents.
Chairat Sa-nguansue, director-general of the Land Transport Department, said he would look into the matter.
In some cases, complaints had turned out to be a hoax intended to ruin the reputation of taxi drivers, Mr Chairat said.

Yes, they started passing on the charge from Visa on the First of June. But you can still get the fee-free (for now) Cash Card debit card which is operated by Mastercard: See the third Q & A in your link.
"Taxi services at Suvarnabhumi airport are coming under tighter scrutiny after a passenger accused a driver registered with the airport of trying to drug her."There have been reports like this for years, usually involving women. Some might be paranoia, some seem to have been real. I am a little surprised that it would happen from the AOT taxi stand. As the article says, all those drivers are registered, so they tend to behave themselves. That's why I always recommend this stand and not trying to skimp on the B50 fee by going to the arrivals level or elsewhere.

I am desperately trying to figure out how it's possible to besmirch the reputations of Bangkok taxi drivers.
You could call one of them honest. That would probably get them tossed from the Union.
When tips are fees
And fees are tips
The big head flees
As the small one dips
Well, since you are from the US of A, let me ask you this:
Don't the waiters/waitresses expect tips? (in your home country I mean).
They get a fix wage for providing a service, but the idea of receiving a TIP at the end incentivises them to perform better, am I right?
Well … yes and no – mostly no!
Most restaurants in the USA pay their wait staff shit wages with the intent that they will be compensated with customer “tips.” So, yes, the “tip” encourages them to perform well, but no, the fixed wage does not compensate adequately for the performance of the basic service. A tip of 10-20% is expected for standard service. Exceptional service might encourage a larger “tip.” If you don’t pay it, you might have Hell to pay. Some establishments even add a 10-20% service charge right on the bill, i.e., a “fee,” in which case an additional “tip” would not be expected. The “fee” is the “tip,” you see. Without these “tips” or “fees,” the employees would starve.
No, no and no again.... your reasoning, while not erroneous is not entirely correct: you are mixing up Tip & Fee.
At a massage parlor, I am paying 400thb for a 1 hour massage: this is a fix fee for a fix service. In the room, I can choose to pay another FEE for another kind of service: 500 for HJ, 1000 for BJ, 1500 for FS: this is in NO WAY a TIP!! just because some people in here call it a tip does not make it right. a tip is a monetary gratification given to a service provider, over and above the fee for the performed service.
If the massage lady gives you the worst HJ of your life, the cost will still be 500thb no? so why call it a tip? it would seem dumb to me to "reward" someone with a tip for a bad service.
You are mixing everything up.
Again …yes and no – mostly no.
Yes, a “tip” (gratuity) is generally distinguishable from a “fee” (charge) as you have so aptly explained above, but no, sometimes the “fee” is considered by the service provider as inadequate compensation for the service performed, in which case, an additional “tip” or “fee” as you call it, is expected. You pay the oily shop 400 for the general massage, and the girl 500 to massage your dick. Now you call that her “fee,” but she regards it as her “tip” for “special” services over and above a plain massage. Again, a “fee” is a “tip” and a “tip” is a “fee.” Remember, she receives some money from the shop as well for her services. That, she considers is her “fee.” What ever you want to call it, you pay nothing more because nothing more is expected.
The same is true with bar girls and freelancers. You agree on an amount for her services, and whether that is considered a “fee” or a “tip,” nothing more is expected. If she does expect an additional “tip,” and begins to whine, I might whisper in her ear something like: “Seabiscuit in the seventh.” Some guys pay more for the services, some pay less, but that’s beside the point.
You still don't get it... whether you are at Annies or Poseidon, the ladies will expect a tip, but as these places ARE all inclusive, it is your decision to tip or not.
If you are too weak at heart to face a whining pooying begging for a tip, then don't blame the parlors. I have had no problem telling girls that did not perform that although they expect a tip, they have certainly not deserved it…
Well, no, I’m not too weak at heart for that, but I don’t want to be vilified as a Cheap Charlie either, and if every provider at every soapy becomes pissed off and angry when a “tip” is not offered for otherwise “all-in” standard services, I want to avoid that embarrassment – a good reason why I read this forum.
So… this brings us back to Annie’s, and Poseidon, and all the other soapies, where it is my understanding that the shop takes the lion’s share of the so called “all-in fee,” while the girl, (much like the American waitress), gets chicken shit. Sure, the decision is up to me whether to give her a “tip” or not, but if I don’t, she might not be adequately compensated, and she’ll likely take her frustration out on me, el cheap-o.
In short, if the girl is adequately compensated by the “fee” for her service, she should not expect an additional “tip,” because a “tip” would not be appropriate, except for an outstanding mind blowing performance. If, on-the-other-hand, the “fee” is not fair and adequate compensation for standard service, then a “tip” is expected, appropriate, and, in my mind, required.
Just tell me the total cost, man! Every monger wants to know! :D

Taking up previous bandwidth guys. Take it to the fight club ;)
Why?
We're not fighting, and it's the same bandwidth in the Fight club anyway.
But if you want to fight: Fuck you! :D
(Geeze ... I've already moved the fucking discussion from the Annie's thread as suggested by some twit... Oh, that was YOU, wasn't it? WTF do you want?)
Not a report but a question since I know that several guys here are fluent in Thai.
I want to know how to ask a TG if she does anal or not. I don't need to know the most formal and proper way... nor do I want to say it in a vulgar way (ie "Can I fuck you up the ass?").
Just basically, what is a polite and grammatically correct way of asking "Do you do anal sex?"
Thanks.

Is there really anything polite about wanting to fuck somebody in the ass? If you have reached this stage the last thing to be concerned about is politeness....well he did say please!
Just basically, what is a polite and grammatically correct way of asking "Do you do anal sex?"
"I would like to fuck you up the arse please, would that be ok with you?"

I ask them if they would like to "bite the pillow" if they jump on all fours and assume the position, I assume the formalities are dismissed and we can commence.
Hand gestures work also.
Just basically, what is a polite and grammatically correct way of asking "Do you do anal sex?"For the average P4P bargirl, "Boom boom toot, mai?" is probably about as grammatically correct as you will require.

[?AnnLanders Emulation Server: Enter]When you are working out the deal, take her hand in yours, place on her lap, then ask what she will be giving you and for how much. She will ask you, "What you want?" Tell her, 'everything' = "aow tuk yahng". Then smile, take her hand, slide it around to her bum, and whisper, "aow tuk yahng, aow dtoot dooay", (I want everything, I want your bum too) and laugh with your eyes a little. Then say, (again with the smiling eyes sparkling) 'I like you too much, but I am a very very bad boy sometimes, you know?'
She will get the message, and she will laugh a little, and she just might say 'OK'. And, it won't be embarrassing at all. Many times, they are going to say NO, no way, but you can easily tell by her reaction (especially to the money involved) if indeed, 'no' MEANS 'yes'. And, then again sometimes, they will SAY 'OK, ok', but then won't really let you do it. TIT
The best way I have found is to take a girl once, then impress upon her that you really can't be happy without getting even just a little bit of 'backside', tell her she makes you crazy and you need it bad. Then, go take her again a couple of nights later and get her shitfaced and real hot. Presto, 99% of the time, you're in. (You are now her special customer, it's her duty to make you happy!) This particular method has been far more successful for me Kuratla. Simple requirements: Plenty of latex, a tube of "Play", and a healthy wealthy modicum of moxie. That's it. ;) [/AnnLanders Emulation]
Pic: Sister pull, the dynamic duo. Yes, they really are sisters, 18 & 19, unbelievably cute, and they made out with each other (and me) like crazy. You may surmise correctly from my reply and this pic what must have happened next that night.
Absolutely outstanding.
For the average P4P bargirl, "Boom boom toot, mai?" is probably about as grammatically correct as you will require.More like "doot" than "toot".
Hello fellow mongers.
First of all I would like to inform you that this is my 3rd trip to Thailand my second to phuket staying for 18 days 11 in phuket and 7 in Bangkok everything is in order booked at salathai resort arrived with my friend last Sunday I have been mongering for the last 7 years I am 32 good looking and very decent person.
So we rest on Sunday and decided to hit some beer bars before going to pick up our night brids from Hollywood first impression girls are bored drinks becoming expensive since last visit in 2005 although its low season no problem I will get lucky in hollywood.
Well nothing happened couple of girls drwew my attention but they passed one claimed having a period ohter one said tom.
So I find a nice girl we dance she tells me she got to go to work for 20 mins and come back may be I should accompany her. Surprise she is a dancing girl next to hollywood I have to bur her 2 ladys drinks and paid a bar fine total damage 820 THB then we go to my hotel and paid 1000 THB for short time I know guys I was a dumb ass but I said to my self may I am tired and that was only my first day I was horney and tom is another day.
Second Day worse than before we headed to tiger me and my friend he got luck and left me I was in a confusion who should I pick the place was overcrowed and spent all the night cruising and by 500 pm I finally spotted a nice girl we started dancing and she said she would like to go to safari yes the pub in the mountian I knew it so I said what the fuck lets hit there however my alaram did not work when she asked for flowers when she took her other two friends and when the Taxi asked for 200 THB she said ok although its only 20 per preson for farang and for Thai 10 THB.
We arrive at Safari and I know from previous report that it is not like it used to be we go in their several lady boys that place is ruined it seems they knew the waiter very well and he ask me what the ladies want to drinks I smell the trap and decided to get from the place and run away. So Second day is screwd for me No problem there is always tom.
Third Day.
Ok me and my friend lay on the beach in spite of the annoying vendors and the fuss with the personnal beach who took 200 THB for the chairs we enjoy now we learned our lesson we find that we pay too much for the drinks probably 1000 THb so we decided to buy a bottle leave it in the place I know that only Thais are allowed to get bottles from outsided in my country we do that and pay what we called bouchone I. E. Cover charge for the bottle.
I learned my lesson we will arrive early at Tiger take a good table and pick up my night bird early well two hours passed and only one girl drew my attention sad she told me she have to leave to Hollywood I told her can't leave my friend who already picked ok girl started crusing the place left my table time is running still no one chick damn what is happening to me am I losing my touch I am still ok good looking person decent man have good money yet I don't want to be fooled.
So suddenly I hit two girls in nice dress so we started dancing I invite them to my table in spite of noticing scratchs on each cheak of one of them but she was clead and fair skin I strat flurtting with her and dance threasome for more thatn 1& half with both of them well finally I am back in the game then come the seriosu talk her friend told me to take them both for 2000 Thb I said no problem however I was hearing to Phi Phi island so I opted to take one I took the other girl who introduced me since I felt her friend strating to be a bit cold and in a bad mood. Afterwards I tell her tom after I return from phi phi I can take them both her friends leaves.
She tells me where is my hotel I tell her near by my friend and his bird accompany us she keep saying to me that she hates the lady with my friend that she is not good now we enter a family mart get some drinks ciggerates for her and in the room we are.
No once in the room I see that her nails are not clean could not see that in the club she is got hair above her lips I strated to be off from her.
I gave her 1000 THB she said that I told her in the club 1500 I replied thats for short time and she keep asking me for taix cab I gave her 20 telling her thats the double fair of a Thai now all the fuss began she shout fuck you and gave me a third finger I warned her I hate swearing I am a decent man and don't curse anyone.
She goes shower then me afterwards I ask her for massage I need to relax she says she does not know no problem how about smoke she hesitated then she goes for couplle of minutes then she stops and say something and after that she said fuck you again then I did what make the night the most unbearable nightmare pushed her cheak very lightly and told her it is not nice to say the F word. She got crazy and strated wearing her clothes telling it is not good to push a lady away she was was just kidding I told her me too I was just warning her very lighly and she said she will go and start shouting I told her fine I will take the money back 1020 Thb which I did and took them from her purse and headed to my safe and was about to get 250 THb for her expenses now she she jumped and cursed and start yelling and said to me she will call the police I tell her go ahead she called the reception I hang out and then called them that I am having trouble with the lady with me.
Suddenly I found her telling me that she will give me the worse nightmare she will say I attacked her and beat her and she spotted an umpty bottle and she was about to hit her self in order to make a wound to her body.
Whats wrong what happened for all this now the security and reception comes and she strated speaking to them in Thai and I said to them the whole story and she smiled cunnly saying do you think they will believe I will call the police I know that was scam since porsitution is not legal in Thailand and the reception and the security guy keep telling me that I boom boom her and did not took back the money from her.
Now guys that my fourth day I cancelled the trip today to Phi Phi writing my report now I wonder to tell me what did I do wrong where is the mistake I came here full of dreams to kill all the fursturation of whole year of work and tiredness and the overwhelming in my country Egypt and now I ve face this I still got 8 days in phuket then 7 days in Bangkok my friend is leaving after tomorrow I will be all alone but with such experience I think I will never return back to Thailand again.
I really appreciate your comments and inputs.

#1 as a foreigner you never beat a thai girl even the simple act of a "light touching" they can take as a threat. I've had police called on me, you do not want this. And especially as being from the middle east, unfortuantely, justified or not justified, the middle east does not have the best reputation to thai working girls.
#2 am confused, seems to say you agreed to 2000 at the club then you say 1500 but paid only 1000 then you took back the money after you had sex with her? and paid only 20 baht for taxi (where is a taxi 20 baht?)? You are talking a bus not a taxi maybe. Never take back the money, just pay it and let them go and learn your lessons. Why you create such a problem over 1000 baht. Give it to her and boot her out the door. Especially after you already had sex with her. What are you expect 4 shots for short time and 1000 baht?
#3 you seem like a cheap charlie as you are talking about hiding bottles and such so it sounds like you tried to cheap the girl out of money. Apologize if you did not but your report makes it sound like you were trying to lower the price. People from the Middle East already have a bad reputation in LOS for many girls so you trying to lower the cost and take the money back created an instant problem for you.
#4 you ruined your own vacation IMHO by the sound of your report. You wanted boom boom the girl but you agree on one price, but pay her less and then you push her. Never good news.
Maybe you are not explain right but it sure sounds like you messed it up yourself. They might be working girls but trying to cheat them and then push them, light shove or hard shove it not matter, is not a way to treat the girls if you are a foreigner (not matter where you are from, you don't cheat the girls and you don't push them). You do not own them or treat them like property, you rent them for sex for short time you do not rent them to own them and do what you please with them.
My POV... you mucked it up yourself. Try to not take back money, if you agree to pay a certain amount pay it, and do not touch them in a way that is threatening.
It is true some girls are psycho and will go nuts on you but not all of them, for me your report reads that you were at fault and created your own problems. Sorry if I am reading wrong but it sure smells fishy to me your story.

I'm in the process of doing some research for a brief stop over in BKK.
I've seen Tamamomi or Tama-momi advertised, and would like to know more about it.
I know direct from Japanese it means "ball massage"...so I do get the general idea.
However, can someone tell me what to expect....really.
I was in Macau recently, and had what they called a thigh or groin massage at a few sauna's; done skilfully it is very nice. Just wondered if this was something similar?
1-Sorry mate but I aint cheap charlie I have agreed to 2000 for two girls then we agreed on 1000 for short time ok. I know how things goes by the way we did not have sex at all. 5- I took the money back because she was mean and insulting me.
6 I apologize for the confusion I meant I was going to give 250 THB for taxi and the 20 THb was indeed for the bus.
7- I never came across this problem before I have been in Thailand for 3 times and always being honest and genrous with the girls respect them and treat them like my GFs actually I provdie a BFE yes I cuddle them pamper them and treat them like my queens may be you should strat reconsidering the way you look at middle eastern I respect the ladies and understand their situation I never look them as a slaves at all.

As a fellow Egyptian I can understand your anxiety and sexual frustration. Marriage is becoming useless and the women here have become like men (if her grand father or father were an Infitahi). In my trips to Thailand I have never had bad experiences like yours so I think you are quite unlucky this time. Anyway, if you had the decency to pay her half the agreed amount for NOT having sex with her then you are definitely not a 'cheap charlie' by our standards. In Egypt, it is common to have sex with a prostitute and then not pay her (which explains why our sex industry is dead despite being a poorer country than Thailand).
Have you seen how the Egyptian WGs/sharmutas act these days? Forget about these stupid swearing and insults. With the increasing mentality of Egyptian people "Us Vs. Them" between rich and poor they (the sharmutas) think it is their right to steal your mobile phone and money. At least the Thai girls do not dare steal. I have had much worse experiences with Egyptian WG than Thai believe me.
Hopefully, Bangkok will be better for you (I skipped Phuket on my last trip, so don't know what it is like). Don't forget to try Akane in Soi 33 Phrom Pong (zay ma oltelak mafish service a7san men keda ya ma3alem, yelhaso khorm teezak da standard :))

Here is LBM, take on your situation! Of course this is a sterotype and Generalization!
1. Sometimes no matter what you agree to shit happens even when you're in your own country. But when it happens outside you have to back off sometimes even if you are right!
2. Because she didn't stick to the deal, you were getting upset inside and when she took the water, not sticking to the deal and now not even asking your temperature was boiling! Right! You can tell me Kimo29, I know about these things! Take a deep breath and admit it you will feel better! And Oh, you're not a Cheap Charlie!
3. Even though you are a nice guy you were brought up that you're the man! No one is going to talk to you like that and when she screamed at you, told you to fuck off, and then the middle finger, shit it went against everything you were taught in the Koran. If you weren't a nice guy you more likely would have smack the shit out of her instead you gave her a push. See when you push a bad fish, they snap back! That's where you went wrong. Like I said shit happens and when it happens in a different country sometimes you need to take a step back and chalk it up as a learning experience. We all have been through something like this we all pay a price.
4. See! There are good days and bad days, today you Chok Dee, you got a good fish and now you're thinking happy times for the rest of your trip and planning the next trip before you finish this one! Right!
5. Too late, never take the money back, because you are a man! Be a bigger and better man and just tell her to leave without tip or taxi money!
Now we all know you are a nice guy and we believe you treat them all like queens. But we also hear about Mid Eastern men that when their women step out of place and out of line! Shit happens to them! LBM, can only say which is when you're in someone else country, you can't do want you do at home, the advice I give you is take a deep breath, step back, open the door and show her out with a smile! Don't listen to the Koran!
Enjoy Kimo29 you have been working hard all year and you're a oil well ready to blast off! Go get them!

My understanding is that he did get it but didn't like she change the agreement after? Which set him off and set her off since she was pulling a fast one!

Seems you agreed 2000 baht for 2 (1000 each) and when you took just one she wanted 1500 baht.
This is standard stuff, Thai girls know many farang are weak willed twats and its why they will ask for "taxi money", demand tips for massage even when its all in pricing and all the other shit.
Its not called the "LOS" for nothing (thats the Land Of Smiles).
When dealing with Thai's be Thai.
Pay her 1000 baht as agreed and smile.
She gets upset and starts being crazy, smile at her and politely say thats the agreed amount and thats all you are getting, goodbye.
And smile. And smile again, and when she shouts then smile and keep asking her politely to leave, and smile.
Never touch them, never get angry, never get scared. Just smile and ask them to leave and keep saying goodbye......in a calm, gentle and polite voice and remember, keep smiling :)
Works everytime, once they realise they cannot wind you up with fear and aggression then they will give up. If they sense you are angry or scared they will go for the kill to get their extra money.
Ok I will redit my post Admin.
First for your information you mentioned Koran so just I am from Egypt (I. E.) Middle East does not make me a muslim since I am a christian coptic and by the way not all muslims are absuers may be you should reconsider your preception and lets not involve religion/politics in our forum as suggested by the Admin.
Guys its not a matter of the country of origin/ religion / color that defines a man so lets all say that there good men and bad women right and vice-versa.
As my fellow monger Rguy mentioned we suffer in our country from WGs more than you can imagin thus we arrive to Thailand LOS we want to take all the dissappointment and frustration away. I think was sad and angry because everyt single minute really counts for me I hope you understand what I mean.
The lady with me now for two days got sick I gave her medication iwas horney in the morning and she was tried we fucked for a while and then she said already cum twice I did not I told her no problem she spent the whole day sleeping and sleeping I did not get annoyed since she was nice and decent!
I think we all look for a good way of treatment we are not looking to these ladies as an objects but human beings I guess as you can all guess by now I was just not lucky I learned to be more careful ask the questions do the math before involving in any act with a freelancer.
I think this matter shold come to an end now I am enjoying the rest of my vacation by the way guys I will be in Bangkok starting next Thursday for a week. So if any of you will be there it will be nice to meet and have couple of beers and go hunt some Uzkis I want to taste the white meat now Spasso, CMS here I come.

Kimo29,
See, my report and reponse was meant to be somewhat humorous and not a personal attack on you as I pointed out. But at the same time it was to draw a response out which it did and it got deleted because when you read my post it [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) and set you off that you wrote what you felt. Personally it didn't take much!
See if your read and comprehended on top of the post " Stereotype and Generalization " you wouldn't have been so fired up and mad and you would have known that I have no idea or experience dealing with Mid-Eastern people and what the Koran really stands for... you got mad just like you got mad at the girl and responded exactly with your post.
See as you say! no matter where we come from, whatever religion, we all experience disappointment and frustration and Mid-Eastern people don't have a license on this and we all come to Thailand to enjoy ourselves and leave our troubles behind this is what others are telling you including myself.
So I hope we can all move on and allow you to enjoy the rest of your trip and maybe future trip. Don't let one bad experience ruin your view or enjoyment!
Enjoy! LBM
You can get this at Orchid Massage in Soi 31 just along from the Euro hotel. Orchid has a website here: http://www.paithailand.com/orchidmassage/eng/index.php where they claim that testicles massage is an ancient Thai practice borrowed by the Japanese. Not sure if that is true, but its great whoever invented it.
I'll be in BKK again in October and really looking forward to renewing my acquaintance with this delightful practice. Its addictive. Go to Orchid and make sure you order off the menu at reception. Testicles massage is 100 TBH or so as an extra on top of about 6 or 800 for the 90 mins or two hours.
Once you're in the room things start off with a standard oil massage session, then she asks you to flip over on your back, oils up and goes to work on your delicates. Outstanding. Really gets the jizz up. After a few minutes you are good and hard and she moves those hot and well-lubricated hands up the shaft, nice and slow, then pops the "you want special?" question. I asked for more balls. All the girls I had there did capped BJ and FJ at 1500 TBH.
Every session I had there was with a skilled professional and they need to be for such a delicate operation -- intensive training I imagine. The pictures on the website were genuine from memory. I remember having Fa -- tiny with nice tits.

Ok I will redit my post Admin.
Listen Kimo.... I'll try this again... step back and read my post again... I kept saying it doesn't matter what nationality you are and I mentioned that if I am not reading your post correctly I apologized etc...
I won't sink to a low level and let you know who my mates are or are not and where they are from. I was stating simple facts that we must contend with. I have no ill will towards you, your original post did not come across sounding correct and I posted that but I was very tempered in my comments. If you took them as against you then I hope you brush it off as it wasn't meant that way.
As a man who has had the police called on them, it is always best to give up some little cash because if the police do come then it will cost you much more. Simple fact of life I learned the hard way.
Peace mate we are all after good times... maybe I'll run into you down in the lower soi's as I'm over that way.
Thank you LBM & Tansak TV for your inputs and understanding i really appreciate that:)
Today its raining like hell in Phuket it did not stop i will rest for today may be go for a nice sea food meal :) a nice lobster to recharge i think i have to restore my power for bangkok by the way i will be staying at the Majestic Grande so if any of you guys will be there lets meet it will be fun to chit chat and may be i get more of your knowldege i think a person will keep on learning until his death thats why i posted my report on the spot and sure i learned a lot from such incident.
By the way guys on the top my list is the infamous Tulip and Snow White but fellow mongers on the Tulip forum says it was not like it used to be :yeah i heard about the infamous Yok and her to die for body, Nestle, Nic etc to the end of the list who left Tulip now i think my options will be limited to new comer Cheri and Dao if i am not mistaken please confirm.
Tansak TV will call at the famous LL where most fellow mongers call to deliver their greetings to Gitto.
Waiting to hear from you mates:)

Remind me as am wheels up to MNL then BKK in an hour... It was not a fun experience or story. Let's just say that as many of you know, I date girls that can hump and grind 10 times a day... and to do that they must be a little mentally off balance and I'm not totally sane all the time either....
And, I gotta think about this. Some members here know some of the story but not all of it and it's a past relationship, I was not in the best frame of mind at the time which is not an excuse. Let me kick it around a moment and decide how much to post about it. It could be a good lesson for some folks but it was private matters.

Soi 11 is where I'm sleeping when I sleep (Soi Arabia almost :D :D ). But do visit / live on Soi 33 often.
Snow White I'm not sure is up to par, there is ONE girl there I know that I like and enjoy but I'm not saying it's bad but it is not Tulip. There are many MP's to go to.
Tulip is still fine for two shots or multiple shots, do not go by the posts here as to who is superstar or not, never do that, go look at the girls live and in person and pick who you are attracted to.
I will say this again don't let it brush you the wrong way, some nationalities do not have the best reputation for thai working girls (be it German, English, American, Oriental, Middle Eastern whatever), SO go see the line ups and pick who is smiling and facing you and such.
This is common sense advice for EVERYONE and has been repeated in the forums for years. DO NOT PICK FROM A BOOK of pictures or because someone posted a name on a web site, your chances of a better experience is if you pick from live girls and the ones that are smiling making good eye contact.
In other words... do not walk in and ask for Cheri or Dao or such... Walk in and see a line up. If there are few girls or no good eye contact move and come back another day / time. Do not even look at the book or ask who is this girl or that girl.
My POV...

Hello guys,
I plane to go to Pattaya or Phuket in the autumn. Would somone be so greatful and help me?
1) What is the wether in October and November in Phuket and Pattaya.
Heard that it may still rain a lot in October. I would like to sunbath a lot during daytime. Is the wether in October so bad for laying on the beach and is it much better in November?
2) Is there a posibility for a 30 years old european guy to have some realtion with a straight girl that is not a part of erotic buisness? Some girl that work in the shop or restaurant instead of being a bar girl or freelancer? I don'y minde paying for dinners, expences, gifts etc... Do such straight girl go after work to some discos etc... ?
Thank you.

Sure, it's pretty easy if you speak Thai, but you probably won't get any girl that is super sexy. Most of the good stuff is either working(p4p) or taken by a Thai guy who has money.
Also, most of these "straight girls" understand that foreigners have money and somewhere down the road they will try and get it.

Thank you.1. October can be beautiful in Phuket. This year, however, the rains have arrived late. Honestly though, I'm really not sure at all what that means weather wise for next month. If you plan to stay a few days you are sure to get some strong sun at some point. November is usually very nice, especially later in the month.
2. It's like anywhere, if you are good looking, have a winning smile, a good sense of humor, are not shy, AND know what girls like, you can score normal chicks here regularly. But, honestly, there are a few criteria that make the possibility of making friends with a cute chick that much more plausible: Stay around for a while, make your kindness known & clear intentions visible, learn to speak some Thai, and make sure that you really want into this 'normal' non P4P girl idea of yours. (In Thailand, be very very careful of what you wish for.).

1) I asked about the wether as there is a funny thing with wether webistes. Almost every one of them have a little bit different info about climate in particular months. So there is always good to ask common visitors or locals about real sitution.
2) I know that it may sound crazy to stay with one girl all the time in Thailand. I was thinking rather about some guide-friend girl for spending time on the beach, eating meals, some joyrides etc. In the evenings I will surelly try few.

If you take a look at Singapore weather you will see thunderstorms about 340 days per year. That is true from 5 to 6pm everyday but the rest of the day is pure sunshine.Almost.

That is typical of the tropical weather, late afternoon heavy shower. Maybe 10 minutes, maybe 30, maybe just limited to YOUR square kilometer. Same all over Thailand, Malaysia, S'pore etc You will see wearther forecasts indicating "shower" or "thunderstorm" every single day of the-7 day forecast, but you might not get a single drop if you are at the right place at the right time:)

run mann,
personally if this was the reason for the deletion then as i noted in the discussion about oth, he should re-examine some of his rules since they are neither consistent nor applied consistently. saying it is the rule doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. applying a rule so that it might create a effective discussion but allows a report that is filled with hate and racism and delete the comments of posters that are disgusted with such use of certain words only verify and show how stupid the applicator is turning into.
a effective discussion is allowing both sides to air their opinions and not simply applying a general rule to stop the discussion. soon i'll be hearing again how free speech applies to speaking against the government and that it is a private site. it's a shame that to have a effective discussion racism has been chosen to be on top of the list. maybe the moderator is in the same lead as the departed but refuses to face the truth by applying a rule that really doesn't apply in this particular case. all i'm saying is if the departed is allowed to make a report that generally bait a good or bad responds and the responds is short " a big racist " how is that not effective? and take a good look and read in every thread everything is a discussion! so don't pick and choose what you want to delete! there is a time and place for your rule this isn't one of them!

lbm the reports on the "links to reports of distinction" are existing somewhere else in th same country forum. so that's the most appropriate place where you want to debate, criticise, agree with a report.
jackson clearly wants to keep the links to reports of distinction free of debate (of any kind).
just go in the source forum and you can comment:)

Bionicman,
I appreciate your imput and I generally understand the moderator reasons but I made a comment only after another poster brought the topic to the " Reports of Distinction " I thereafter made a short comment which is done pretty much by everyone that is a member on every other thread. Look at the number of threads we have and see if it has stopped anyone from commenting endlessly on a subject that started in one particular thread that in the end should have been moved to another.
If the thread Reports of Distinction are only to bring other post from other threads like poster T.T. did with The Departed post and not allow for a comments or discussion then the " add a report " button should be remove!

You make a good point on this!
Probably a "bug" (or better call it "weakness") of the forum software that does not discern on "RoD" and shows the same template on each and everything
Maybe a "warning" on the header of the RoD page (as it is on 'moderated forums') will do, added to moderated status of the RoD pages, where the moderations mean = no publication.
A bit complicate, I admit...
But I am sure we are not going to fight, me and you, on this... little argument:)

Well..they did they service: guarantee or give money to someone else. If you did not take those services (= canceled)...somehow your problem.
Main fact, though, I think is that I observed in Thai lots of establishements add the CC fee on top of their prices (to discourage use of CC as they prefer cash, or because they want you to pay for the privilege of using the CC, not them!)
So probably the vendor has credited its money, not the cc one...
just a thought...not "my law"
Using reservation sites like Agoda, Sawadee, etc. should be avoided. Using the official hotel reservation website saves on these booking fees, avoids upfront payment most times, and allows cancellation without loss of the 1st night reservation fee. Hotel websites are not easily located but well worth the extra effort, as hotel sites have alot more flexibility.

This fee is likely coming from your credit card company, not from Agoda. Many US credit cards will charge a 3% fee for foreign transactions no matter what they are for. Smaller fees are out there, but they're probably getting harder to find since numerous credit card issuers are bumping up fees to make up their losses in this economy.

Actually, sites such as Agoda and asiatravel are usually cheaper than the hotel site...
The thing that pissed me off about the Agoda thing is that it states right on the Q&A that they will provide a refund if the credit card charges a fee and won't refund it.
So, they are violating their own rules.

This is a great tip. I have used these shops to buy team uniforms, boxing equipment and other sports items....at greatly reduced prices. Stores in other areas use these guys to get the product....then just add to the price to you. This is the place to go.

It's the cc fee for an international transaction. The Agoda fee is clearly stated on the invoice. Every international transaction has a fee of at least 1%....and usually is 2%.....the 3% is a bit much....but probably in your contract with your cc company.

Kimo.
Beautiful post!!!!!....remember....KEEP SMILING....it works.....the frustrations they give you are contagious!!

Screening has been moved up so you go through screening before you get to the duty free area, this is only nice so that now you can take drinks and food to your gate area. In the club room now and heading out for a while and was surprised to see the change as it wasn't reported yet.
Just will be nice so that I can swipe some drinks and take to the gate to await boarding.

Yes, but this what their web site says and they are telling me they won't do it which is unacceptable business practice.
What do I do if my credit card shows a slightly different charge than what is shown on my receipt?
The difference is a fee your bank has imposed on the transaction. The global financial crisis, in combination with recent legislation in the US has put significant pressure on the profitability of the banking and credit card industries. As a consequence, many banks have drastically increased the fees associated with international transactions in an attempt to recoup losses in other areas. This dubious business practice is unfortunately completely out of our control.
If this happens to you, please let us know and we will do everything we can to help you recoup these fees from your bank. We know how irritating it is to feel like you got cheated out of something, even if the amount is small, and are absolutely committed to ensuring that you pay exactly is shown on the screen and not a single cent more.
Should your bank insist on squeezing every last cent out of you, we will refund you the difference (and recommend an alternative bank!).

I'm becoming an expert at buying generic viagra and cialis, so thought I'd share some prices with you.
In the UK, certain branches of Boots sell 4 x 50mg Viagra for £50. £12 ea.
You can get a private prescription from your doctor and get Viagra for about £25 from a pharmacist. £6 ea.
Generic viagra can be bought on-line for about £2 for a 100mg pill.
For bulk orders (say 100) this goes down to £1 per pill.
In Bangkok and Pattaya it's about 400Bht for 4 pills. About £2 ea.
In Mumbai last week I bought both generic cialis and viagra for about Rs120 for 4 pills. About 40p each. Same brands as in BKK.
I was so overwhelmed that I had to go to a second pharmacist for a repeat subscription. I now have a carrier bag full of the stuff. Now just need to find a way to use it usefully. :)

Yes this is true, all items come from India and if you ever run out I can help you (or others) out. Definitely you don't need to purchase in UK or online high prices or such. It's amazing but I had friends asking me to bring in Vitamins for them as the costs in BKK and other places are grossly inflated. I am amazed at what some folks are reporting that they pay.
To use them I suggest you visit BKK / Pattaya / Shanghai / Manila for about two weeks each location. I'm sure I'd run into you during one of those stays...

As I have just written elsewhere, I have lost interest (if I ever had it) in having sex with bored or unfriendly strangers, or unattractive girls, which rules out most of those countries. Still have high hopes for Hong Kong (and Macau), no worries about Singapore, and of course there is always LOS :)

My current itinerary reads India / Nepal / Korea / Hong Kong / Macau / Singapore / Japan and finally Thailand.yuck. You keep your itinerary and I'll stick with my itineraries. For the most part I am Oceania, Philippines, Thailand, China, and repeat (with some side trips to other places in there usually).
But in Korea you can cross to China easy and quickly you do know that. Often when I am there we cross over for a little P4P entertainment, but I have a valid multi entry VISA for China.

Any problem with buying some Cialis in Bkk and taking it to HK or Macau without a perscription?
Thanks for the info.

Any problem with buying some Cialis in Bkk and taking it to HK or Macau without a perscription? Thanks for the info.As I say, I have a kilo of viagra and cialis in my bag and I'm heading to HK tomorrow, so I'll let you know. Never crossed my mind that there would be a problem. These items are not counterfeit, they are made legitimately in India by major pharma companies. I don't don't the intellectual property situation in HK, so theoretically there could be an issue. But they're tucked away in my bag and I just don't think it will be of the slightest interest to customs even if I was searched and they found it...
Now excuse me as I have to go RTF HK F... India and Korea were a bust so I have a lot of catching up to do...

Mouse, customs are there to block illegal imports, smuggling of various products and to cash excise & duties on behalf of the government.
Maybe they might have something to say if you bring ONE kg of medicines of any kind.
Due to the nature of the drug you bring in, they will not believe you need so much for personal use as you take 10 tablets a day...
It is of course all up to you to do what you want, but if we do not read from you in the near future, we'll know why:))

You've got a lot more to worry about than intellectual property rights in Hong Kong. Viagra, cialis etc are prescription drugs in Hong Kong and possession - yes even simple possession of such without a prescription is a crime.
We had a famous case a few years back when one of the scions of a prominent - and connected - HKG family was arrested for having on his possession 1 - yes ONE - viagra pill without a prescrfiption. Convicted too by the way!!

Personal experience:: customs definately care about not having a prescription in some countrys. Even though I was let go with a warning they were very serious and it was touch and go for a while and up to who ever the supervisor was at that time, at that airport, in that country. released with a stern warning for viagra with no prescrip.
It used to be no problem 3-4 years ago but now they are cracking down on it???

SEAJOK, I stand corrected. I still think you'd be pretty unlucky to be picked up, but I guess it's possible. I can't see any reports on the web about this being a crime, apart from the crime of re-exporting grey market drugs (ie IP issues), but I'll take your word for it.
By the way, I exaggerated about the 1kg of viagra and cialis, but I have about 80 tablets, and they certainly are for my personal use... :)

I think you are mistaking people providing advice and 'flaming'. In most modern legal systems possession of prescription medication without a prescription is illegal. Whether they enforce the laws or not has no bearing on it being criminal. You may or may not get lucky and not be prosecuted. On this board we regularly discuss criminal acts and ignore the fact that it is a criminal act. That can give us a false sense that we can flout all laws. In some countries we can. In some we cannot. If I show up to Australia and they find I didn't declare some prescription drug I will be in big trouble. If i declare it they ask if I have just enough for my use while traveling. If I answer yes then they send me on my way. If they found that I have a kilo of it I don't want to think of what they'd be putting me through. What you are doing simply seems silly to many of us as the risk/reward is to seep for most of us. Good luck on your travels and I think we are all waiting to hear how things turn out.
I think you are mistaking people providing advice and 'flaming'.Don't get all pompous about it. I just wrote the jokey heading to avoid 20 posts saying 'Why are you writing about this on a Thailand forum?', but perhaps using slightly less pleasant terminology...

I have made over a 100 trips with it and it never crossed my mind that it was illegal. OK, it probably is. It is a risk that I will continue to take... Now I feel like some international drug smuggler... :(

From my figures 1 kilo would be £40,000's worth, so yes, I would expect to be prosecuted and fined, if not slung in jail.
Anyway, we all have our risk thresholds, and frankly carrying a few viagra in my suitcase is way way down on my scale of things. Live life on the edge, take a gamble, do one dangerous thing every day... :)
Anyone have the youtube links to the Cop show in Thailand? Apparently, they have police from all over the world working the red light disticts in Thailand and they tape all the encounters. Appreciate it!

Saludos from Cartagena,
MartinUsually you'll get a few more cents in private cambios than the banks but there are not so many nowdays. I don't bother since there are bank cambios in every corner. Bring unspoiled 50s or 100s only for the best rate. Lower rate for the rest of them.
You can also use ATM's. There are all over the place.
By the way I exchanged euros today at 48,78875. Dollar was 33,09.

The courses around BKK is expensive and not that good.
Go to Phuket.
The courses there are cheap.
Most are ocean view and nice.
The cost is around 40 USD with golf cart.

There are some in BKK that are good, the major problem is getting to them as traffic is so bad. I go to Pattaya, 140km south, on the bay of Thailand. There are about 25 championship courses within 40 km radius. Not all spectacular but many are as good as you will find anywhere. All are within 45 or so minutes of central Pattaya. Fabian at Thi ger golf is great, they go in vans form his store to about 3 different courses each day, sign up the day before.
His website is thigerlinegolf.com. He is a good operator and will not let you down. Courses I strongly suggest are St Andrews 2000, Leam Chebong, Khaokheow and almost right in town Phoenix. Feel free to ask any questions.

There is a "Thailand Politics" thread in the Expat section.
PLEASE USE IT.Look, it's very easy to make condescending remarks, but this series of exchanges started with a report about the King's ill-health and naturally gravitated to other points, in the way conversations sometimes do. I haven't excessively prolonged the discussion, and if I wanted to have a big debate I would hold it in the suggested thread. But sometimes you just have to go with the conversational flow, and I'm sure you can skip over a few posts that don't interest you. Let's not be too anal about this; we really don't want too many forum police :)
I see the next few posts are about golf course, exchange rates and f***ing ATMs again. Don't interest me so I don't read 'em.
Thanks, I’m familiar with the Phuket courses but I’m staying in BKK.
The only BKK track I’ve seen is the one around the Horse/Dog track/Soccer field that can be seen from the Skytrain, maybe the Royal Thai Golf Club or something but doesn’t look like much. Anyone know of something else descent? (traffic not withstanding)
Thanks,

Dentists are like FLs, they are all over Thailand and cheap and efficient. However, I've never use one in Bangkok. I like the informal feel of Pattaya Dentists where you can walk in and get same day or next day service from many of them.

Gotta love Air Asia....you get what you pay for (basically a seat and a small one at that) but Melbourne - Bkk return for AUD$220, you cant complain.

GSM 1800 is probably the most common frequency in Thailand (at least 3 carriers), but GSM 900 and GSM 1900 are available too (at least 1 carrier each).

Tri band will work most places. However, best is to buy a quad band phone. Then it will work everywhere.

ATM,
For the past month Goverment Bank (Pink Machines) have been reconfiguring their computers and ATM, to make the charge official 150 Baht for Foreign ATM cards. This last month you put in your Foreign ATM card and after a few seconds especially after you push " English " seconds later the response is that there is a problem. I went to over 6 ATM's throughout Pattaya and they came up with all the same response. Now as stated they are all working if you agree on the 150 baht.
The only Bank now that I know is AEON, that isn't charging is the Japanese owned. And most have been removed or not working throughout Pattaya except the main branch in Lotus, North Pattaya!
Now one has to consider this when they use the ATM'S, is along with the 150 Baht charge is what is the rate they are giving you. Here is what I found!
Using this general example in USD currency! Lets say the official rate is 33.50 Today!
Bank of Bangkok: ATM rate given is 32.45
Siam Commericail: ATM rate given is 32.42
Bank of Ayuthya: ATM rate given is 32.33
Govenment Bank: ATM rate given is 33.35
I have found although all the above banks are charging now the 150 Baht the Government Bank is giving the best rate!
Took out money from AEON two weeks ago at Lotus, no charge! The day exchange rate was something like 33.65, and they gave me 33.42!
Some are reporting that some of the above might not be charging ( Except AEON ) but that depends on where the card comes from.....
Good luck, LBM

By bus mochit bus station
Make a deal with a driver or taxi, I went there once for 3000 baht one way with taxi. Look for a car that use gaz and not only gazoline, they need to feel theier car for about 800 return to kamphaeng phet. So they have a good profit even by 2500 baht. Go early morning 5am so taxi can come back same day. No traffic.

The forum on Thai women has moved so am posting this here.
A few months back, I invited a Thai lady (shes 25, has kid and a husband who doesn't live in Thailand) to come stay with me for a weekend. I was happy to pay for her ticket from her town to BKK then to my city, but she insisted to go half. I didn't argue. We had a fun weekend but she was too slim (model slim and 5ft 6 tall, ) for my tastes, and was a bit clingy.
Anyways weve chatted since then and shees asked if she could come back to my city again. Shes stated she would pay hotel and airfare, she just wants to see me. Well I've been travelling so haven't been able to do it.
Today I get email saying she would love to see me, but she knows I'm busy. So she would pay my airfare if I would go to Phuket on a one day round trip to see her. Wow. Here I am, a mid 50's guy getting such an invite. Money isn't an issue for me, but nice to be treated as such. Sweet girl!
Is there a pedestrian flyover from the northeast side of Lumpini Park to somewhere around the Tobacco Monopoly at the end of Suk. Soi 2?
What's the deal with this area? I read once it was being developed into a park, but I can't really find much about it.
I have a question for all experienced punters: Given what we read in the news reports from the hospital, and the rumors which fly, just how long do you think the entertainment venues will have to close when that dreaded day comes?
I hazarded the guess of three months in a rl conversation recently, with the observation that it might be long enough to kill them (not many bars and nightspots can survive three months revenue free). Of course on the other hand there might be a civil war so mere closure might not really be the worst of it.
Hi Opebo,
for all those, not so experienced with Thai(?) affairs, can you please elaborate on what you mean by:
"Given what we read in the news reports from the hospital, and the rumors which fly, just how long do you think the entertainment venues will have to close when that dreaded day comes?"
I am planning to be in Thailand in 3 months and finding all the entertainment venues all closed would spoil the fun.

The responses from Tansak and Daddy San are somewhat surprising, expressing their ignorance of Opebo's point, since they are regular contributors and surely know a bit about Thailand. That's the sort of response I would expect from a newbie.
I would imagine that after the first week things will return to a semblance of normality, (after all people need money to live), and then there will be a few days at a somewhat later date when everything shuts up for the final ceremonies. After that of course, due to the expected "coloured" in fighting, I would expect a complete take-over and clamp down by the military; farangs vacationing elsewhere, and a complete liquidation of Thailand's monetary system.
Perhaps time to start reading up on the Cambodia and Vietnam forums!

Shit I will always be a newbie... :D And if you think you will ever know Thai without being a Thai then you are a fool. Or I should say if I as a foreigner ever think I will understand Thai then I would be a fool to think this. Others want to think they can be accepted and understand the society as an outsider then fine.
But since he has been ill for years and in the hospital for over a month already but the last report I have is that he was supposed to be recovering it's not the top of my list of things to worry about.
It's been a dark cloud hanging over Thai for years now, you never know when it will happen but it's not like this is anything new. It is unfortunate to say but we've operated in our work that he has already passed and there has been no stability in country for a long time now. With all the govt. changes we've had to change our operations so many times it is not even funny.
The only difference will be a long period of mourning and then a complete change in who we at my work are dealing with. The only answer for punting is to have a rolodex while things shake out.
The venues will of course close for a while, but many venues will close and the tourism will only suffer more then what it has been.
Enjoy what you have now and face the music when the time comes. Why be concern with something you have no control over? It’s inevitable that we will all meet the same fate as the revered one will. However, life will go on. There have been other (popular) Kings who have passed and we're still here. As popular as the King is, the Thais are smart/greedy enough to know that they must survive therefore the real power brokers will surely not let things get out of hand to the point where they start losing money for a noteworthy but increasingly symbolic gesture/figure regardless of how important it is to some.

I would say you slightly underestimate the difficulty of the mourning period, and probably overestimate the long-run difficulties, Bumholes.

I really hope that I have over-estimated the long term difficulties, but I fear the "coloured" war and the return of a certain person will totally destabilise Thailand.

the return of a certain person will totally destabilise Thailand.
He already is pulling a lot of strings and many countries / companies are having talks with this certain person. Means little if he is out of country and a criminal or not.
probably overestimate the long-run difficulties
From my little corner in the world and what I gotta do, Thai has not been stable politically and it won't be they just keep making new parties and every time I walk in a building there is a new person sitting behind the desk that I gotta talk to and start all over. Which is not a bad thing it keeps me coming back to thai.
With what I do we've look at it for three years now as an unstable govt.
This is not a slam on the Thai's, it is stable for visitors to come, but going from a monarchy to change into god knows whatever they will become will take time and growing pains. The benefit is that I gotta keep going back to thai as we can't get anything accomplished :D
I am more worried about our financial assets being in PI then in Thai even after whenever the passing will happen. I firmly believe international Assets will be OK in thai but I am sure gonna keep a rolodex handy for my enjoyment purposes.
The most valuable asset will be NicFrenchy's black book. I'll start the bidding at two seats first class BKK to Paris :D :D :D

I couldn't care less about any international assets, I'm only concerned about the venues. If they are closed, no reason to stay here.
Well, i have trip planned to bkk from nov10 to 20 and I have tried to read about the locations of where to go as far as a hotel. Im looking for a nice but cheap hotel that is very close (pref walkable to the action) Do I want to be near Soi Cowboy? And is it worth it to head to Pattaya for a few days or should i take my whole trip there? I am very excited but feel I will be looking in the wrong places. Please any kind of direction I should be pointed in to take me to the right hotel and the right bars would be great. I am a huge contributor in the US board and only have a few adventures over seas. any help would be great.

You just asked so many loaded questions I'm afraid to even attempt to help you in fear of the back lash.
BKK vs. Pattaya... everyone has their own opinion, some folks hate pattaya as an in your face hell hole. Others think it is a great place with open minded people, lower costs in hotels, food, women, and a much better mongering scene.
Pattaya sex scene is MUCH larger then in Cowboy, it is a little more rowdy, a lot more naughty, but the girls also can roll you easier, pull some bait and switch and I think the crime in Pattaya is higher. But it is a lower cost. As far as girls go, there are hot thai chicks in both locations.
Pattaya can be a little over whelming for a first time visitor, especially if he is solo. And you got so many options that from what I've heard people say... first visit they hate it, second visit was ok, third visit they like it, fourth visit they really enjoy it. It takes a while find what you like about Pattaya, where you like, where things are etc...
My answer to you, you will never know unless you try both BKK and Pattaya. The BKK purists will tell you it is scum on earth in Pattaya and the Pattaya gang will tell you BKK is an overpriced egotistical opinionated scene. But being a virgin and alone in Pattaya you wont' see probably what you should see.
Seriously try to pay up to a senior member or such to get PM's so others can help you directly is my advice.
Hotels... you opened a can of worms there too... In BKK you got what I think of as 7 main areas for sex. Cowboy, Nana, Soapies, Massage Parlors, Soi 33, Clubs, then Free Lance Places.
Cowboy is a small street full of bars for girls, some bars have shows, some are topless, some are clothed etc... Everyone likes their own bars. Baccara is more Asian but have OK girls. Tilac is improving. Suzie Wong / Shark are more dirty type places etc... Midnight and others are OK, it's all hit and miss and what you like. There are hotels around there, MP Lurker just posted some hotels in the BKK hotel thread, Admiral Premier and others.
Nana, you got Majectic Grand and a host of others, you got Soi 11 with citadiens and Grand President etc... Those are all around NEP. Nana is a corner basically with different floors of small bars, some are lady boy bars but some bars like Rainbow 4 are OK bars, it is more crowded etc.... More compacted. Some folks only like Nana some folks HATE nana.
Soapies... those are an MRT ride away so don't bother with a hotel near there IMHO. Worth a visit if you are a newbie, there are some soapies or semi soapies in Sukhumvit area, Annies, Darling is kind of a soapie I guess etc... But most of the known better Sopaies are off the MRT (underground Rail System)
MP's are spread all over but Tulip is off the BTS (sky rail system), same with snow white, mango, aviva, and many others... There are MP's (for sex) all over the town.
Free Lance Places, Gullivers, Sukhumvit Road, Beer Garden, Hillary's, New Wave and others... Thermane etc...
Disco's or such, CM2, Boss, Spice, Bed Super, Q Bar etc... Higher cost, can find rusian chicks at a few of these places.
Soi 33, you got a few hotels near it, it is higher costing places, You got some hotels on soi 22 near it, and then Novtel Lotus and Livingstones on the street. The bars are more hostess bars.
Hotels.... shit man stay where ever you want, read the hotel thread as there are too many to pick seriously. Any place you go most of the girls will want to taxi back to your place. If you get a place on Soi 11 and end up at cowboy the girls will want to taxi... 40 baht... so what... big deal.
Go read the hotel thread a little we all have our preferences as to where to stay and what bars to visit. You asked way to much of a general questions for one answer. There's 100's of bars / MP's / hotels in BKK and even more in Pattaya....
You are way too vague for me, what is nice but cheap mean to you? To some guys under 150 USD a night is a cheap hotel. For others cheap is 800 baht a night. Near Cowboy means what, a 10 minute walk or right next door? Not trying to be rude but you are just asking way too vague questions and need to read up or google the scene a little more.

You better care about international assets or thai will end up like Philippines. You don't want the Thai Govt. to take away protection of foreign assets, freeze foreign assets, or disallow foreign assets and have the economy crash farther.
In true thai mentality since economy goes down they'll try to up the price for pussy. Hell maybe BKK will end up like Vietnam where Hanoi is dead (from what I'm learning as I gotta go there) but Ho Chi Min still has options.
And what venues? You don't head to Venues :D Or you rarely head to the tourist joints from your posts. You think they'll close china town or chicken farms? If shit hits the fan then Soi 33 could die but your haunts might spring to life so you could be in heaven. BB all over for a few baht... who knows.

Hello George!
I wish you would stay longer on your first trip, but as you only have 10 days I would recommend you to focus on only one of the places. And I would have chosen Bkk.
If you want a very good, close to action hotel, I would have just stayed in the Dynasty Grande. Its between soi 4 and 6 sukhumvit and you can walk to Nana plaza in about 4 minutes. Great rooms and bathrooms. Lcd tv, and dvd. Very big rooms. Cost about 2100 thb.
The best choice in this area. I have tried most others as well.
From this hotel you have walking distance to everything around soi 4. If you want to go to Cowboy you can just take the skytrain for 4 minutes and you will be there.
Remember the hotel name. Its absolutely the best value in this area.

If it's your first time in Thailand and if you are coming here mainly for mongering, I would recommend that you directly go and spend most of your holidays in Pattaya. You will get more fucks for your bucks than in the capital city. In Pattaya, prices for (almost) everything are not only lower, but there are less variations too.
In Bangkok, a first-timer is an easy target and may be charged several times more for the same service or goods than an experienced traveller or resident. In Pattaya, it might happened too, but not as often as in Bangkok (in my humble opinion) and most of the time, as the regular prices are lower, the scams are (usually) less ambitious or harmful as well at the end of the day!
If I were in your shoes, I would spend only two or three days in Bangkok, but at the end of my holidays. You will be already more experienced after a few days in Pattaya and you should be better armed than a perfect newbie once you are in Bangkok.
But Bangkok is probably a better choice if you come to Thailand not only for its nightlife and P4P scene. Of course, you can also find other activities in Pattaya too, but on your first stay there, you might find Pattaya a bit dull in the morning and in the early afternoon. Bangkok offers more obvious non-mongering attractions. Shopping is also more interesting in Bangkok (provided that you look around and try to know the regular prices before spending your money).
Let me say THANK YOU to those who responded because I am positive that I have asked questions that have been asked millions of times before and some may be numb for answering and people not reading the forum.
First, I gather a few days in Pat and majority in BKK. One question i was worried about is which hotel is safe and not goin to steal my things while I am gone because I do plan to shop. So to make this more exact, I think around 2500 baht or less for a hotel should be fine.
To explain myself more, i have been to PI manila before so I am not a complete newbie and have some street smarts to me.
I would like to invite anyone who is here for a few beers on me. I hate being alone but only find a few friends will be able to travel with me and this time it was alone or not at all. I would love the insight.
Being that soapies and MPs are avail here in US i tend to enjoy the freelancers and go go bars.
One thing i am completely drawn to check out is the bj bars. This sound amazing.
I also like really small skinny younger girls (18 plus of coarse) so finding these girls or bars is important to me.
So I guess a nice hotel that is close to freelance and go go bars and 2500 baht or less and safe. I am coming in at 1145pm so I would like to know where I am heading and know its safe.
Also, Im assuming that all this action is not spread out in great distance, sounds like everythig is relatively close via taxi, am I right??
Sorry for the loaded and vague questions, but answer if you like, I love the help and Im sure there are other newbies that apprciate the answers.
Let me know if anyone is meeting up for beers or anything of that nature. I am game.

Still not helping much as 2500 will get you about 100 different hotel rooms and even in the poor economy the thai's who work hotels are very honest in my opinion. Never am fearful about items in my room, this is not Manila trust me. Obviously don't be foolish but leaving 1,000's of USD worth of electronics out has never been an issue for me.
You really only gotta watch out for the girls you bring back and I've never pulled one that steals so blatantly. Free Lancers are your biggest risk but for the most part you short time them and usually even they are honest.
Also, Im assuming that all this action is not spread out in great distance, sounds like everythig is relatively close via taxi, am I right??
Most action is on the skytrain a few minutes you can even walk from 33 to 4. Again this is not Manila. Compacted in BKK. Pattaya is more spread out the BKK is.
Pattaya you got baht buses or trucks, BKK you got Sky Train (BTS) and then the underground train to take you to Soapies MRT....
Only time I'm in a taxi in BKK is getting from the airport or taking a girl back to the hotel. Usually I am on the MRT, BTS, or walking.

Sorry forgot this part. You can not compare USA MP and Thai MP. That is applies and oranges. Being very nice here... you would be a fool not to try a thai MP. Pick one, eden, aviva, angeles, snow white, tulip, mango, etc... they all have unique experiences. But you can not say you have an MP's in the US. Trust me, venture to some MP's in Thailand.
I also like really small skinny younger girls (18 plus of coarse) so finding these girls or bars is important to me.
Um... Ok you described most the girls... You'll enjoy...

you would be a fool not to try a thai MP. Pick one, eden, aviva, angeles, snow white, tulip, mango, etc... they all have unique experiences.
Let me get in a little bit more detail than that:
MASSAGE PARLORS :Traditional Thai Massage
Pricing
1 hour = 200 THB
2 hours = 400 THB
Basically all the Massage places in Thailand will offer this Type of Massage.
You do not get a private room for this type of massage, just a common room with mattresses on the floor separated by curtains.
This is my favorite massage, the technique will amaze you!! They make every bones and joints in your body Crack!
You need to wear a Pajamas for this Massage, they will provide one for you.
Unless you go to a Hotel’s spa, at the end of the Thai Massage, 99% of the Time the Masseuse will ask you if you want the “Special Massage”
Special massage in a Thai Massage place consists of a HJ (Hand Job) and if you’re lucky a CBJ (Covered Blow Job).
HJ Special is THB 500 and CBJ is THB 1,000.
The girl will stay clothed during the Whole Session
MASSAGE PARLORS : Herbal Oil Massage
Pricing for Oil Massage:
1 hour = 400 THB
1.5 hours = 600 THB
2 hours = 800 THB
Pricing for Lotion Massage:
1 hour = 600 THB
1.5 hours = 800 THB
2 hours = 1000 THB
This is the carbon copy of what you call a Swedish Massage.
Except for the 5 star places, they will all use Baby Oil (which smells and is difficult to wash in the shower). Lotion Massage is an odorless body lotion that is very easy to clean and disappears in the shower once the massage is over.
Almost 100% of the Oil Massage Providers will offer you “Special Massage”
In about 75% of the Massage Places, Farangs will go there for the “Extras” (or Special Massage if you prefer). This is a little different than the Traditional Thai Massage Places.
For Traditional Thai Massage, the Providers are usually a little “Older” and you do not get to chose them.
In the case of Oil Massage, you are the one to chose your masseuse.
You can chose your girl “Live” by going to the Room where they all sit, or order from a Catalogue where you see all the Girls Pictures.
The Catalogue is for Japanese people, most of them would never walk in the room and face 20 girls (that’s 40 pairs of eyes staring at you)… they prefer to be discrete and look at the catalogue. The reason why looking at the catalogue is a bad idea is that all the girl’s pictures are heavily photoshoped. Best is to face them and see which ones you get vibes from (while some will smile and wave in your direction, others won’t even look at you).
Once you choose your girl, you can Order the time you want.
99% of the oil places will offer you a private room with in Room Shower
For this massage type, you need to take a shower in the Room prior and after the Massage.
Usually, the Girl comes in the shower with you and she washes you thoroughly (yes, she cleans you everywhere!) and then showers herself also.
Onto the bed she proceeds to massage you using the Oil, and for this massage, you are completely naked. After about 45 minutes of massage, she will ask if you want “Special Massage”.
Now this is different from Traditional Thai Massage, because you are in a private and Closed room, the Extras offered will be as Follows :
HJ Special is THB 500
CBJ or BBBJ is THB 1,000
FS is THB 1,500
(usually when you order FS, she will give you a BJ to start)
Once you “come”, the session is Over and back to the shower where she washes you again.
MASSAGE PARLORS : Body Soapy Massage
Now this is a very different scheme as the 2 massage types outlined above. While most massage places that offer Thai Massage will offer you Oil Massage, the ones that offer Soapy only deal with Soapy.
Pricing:
Pricing is a little complicated as every place has its own. Some Places only cater to Thais, some only to Japanese and some only to Farangs (non Asians). Though, most places will accept Foreigners but apply a fee (called Farang surcharge) which can go from THB 500 to 1,500 above the Thai Price.
Cheapest you can find is THB 1,800 for 1.5 hours and could go up to THB 6,500 (for “Models” or Freelancers).
Soapy Massage (also Called MP by the Local Farangs) has a very easy modus operandi….
Just walk into the MP and wait for the Papasan to approach you… you have 2 options :
a) look at the Fishbowl first
The Fishbowl is called a Fishbowl because the Room where the Girls sit is all glass so you can see them from everywhere…. Pretty much like an aquarium.
In some places, the girls cannot see you and in other places, it’s just a glass and they can see who comes in and out.
b) All the ladies have a number that they keep until they quit working for the Place… so if you like a certain lady, remember her number and ask the Papasan next time you visit and she will have the same number. Better, Book in advance to make sure she is working that day, and/or not busy with another customer.
Some places have 2 or even 3 different fishbowl, which means that the prices are different per Fishbowl (every girl in one FB is at the same price)
So you can have a Fishbowl @ THB 1,800, another @ THB 2,200 and a third one @ THB 2,800 (the most expensive it gets, the better the girls will look)…. Some places even offer you “Models” that have made covers of magazines… but they are expensive and quite Frankly “Starfish”.
Also, you sometimes have girls wandering outside of the FB, hanging out on a sofa…. These are Freelancers, they do not work for the Massage place and are not professionals… they can be your average supermarket Cashier trying to get some quick cash… they pay a hefty commission to the MP if they are chosen and are usually also quite expensive and not very good in bed.
c) Choose the lady (or Ladies… remember, you are paying so you can have as many ladies as you want at the same time).
d) The Papasan will quote you a price… (now be wary of these fuckers… some will try to scam you… basically, anything on top of the regular price goes right into his pocket). Also, he will “recommend” you ladies… (“take #45, very good”….) but he only pushes girls that will give him a kickback on the “Extras” Money…
e) Soapys (or MPs) usually always include the same Routine :
a. You get a bath with the girl naked in the bathtub washing you
everywhere
b. You are guaranteed a BBBJ in the tub and 99% of the ladies will let
you “come” in their mouth
c. After the bath, you move on to the bed where you receive an oil
Massage
NB : Some places have an inflatable mattress and offer a Full Body to Body Soapy experience (meaning that the girl will soap herself and wash you again with her tits and pussy by sliding all over your body)
Not All places have inflatable mattresses as it is quite rare.
d. After the massage, the lady will proceed to another BBBJ and then
have sex with you
e. After sex, back in the bathtub and she washes you again before
you leave
f) You need to leave a “tip” to the lady before you leave, the tip is up to you but usually ladies will expect nothing less than THB 500 (unless you did not like the session then you don’t have to tip).
BARS : Fantasy Bars : Blowjob Bars
There are quite a few of those in every main area of Thailand.
Like the name says, this is a bar where you can have a drink, and choose a lady for a BJ and you leave.
Pricing:
BJ = THB 700 to 1,000 (depending on the place)
This is a pretty straightforward bar (looks like any bar in Bkk) except that you need to be prepared before you walk in.
Ladies everywhere and all ready to give you a Blowjob anywhere… yes, you read correct, you can sit at the Bar counter and ask a girl to Blow you right there in front of everyone while you quietly sip on your Beer…
A lot of people like to be watched and/or watch others receiving a Blowjob (think of it as a “Live” porn amateur movie).
For the non-exhibitionist, they have areas with couches separated by a thick curtain to give you a little Privacy.
As there are no Showers, the lady will thoroughly clean you dick before putting it in her mouth..
The girls will give you a BBBJ until you come (technically you have 20 minutes to come) and after 15 minutes, she will look at you and ask “you come now?”
In these covered but not so private areas (you will see some people opening the curtains from time to time.. especially girls… some will also come and sit beside you to watch the other girls blow you… you can be offered FJ (whereas the lady will drop her panties and sit on you, she will slip a condom of course) FJ = Additional THB 500 to 1,000
You also have Private cubicles (real concrete walls and a locking Door) that cost Extra THB 300 to 500 but only for FJ.
That’s about all, as its name says, it’s a Blowjob Bar so you come in, order a Beer get sucked, deposit your load in the girl’s mouth, pay and go.
The ladies there are very good at giving Blowjobs but the older they are (experience) the deeper they go (great Deepthroat). Most young girls will not go very far down your dick… and if you ask them to suck deeper, they will complain that “Farang too Big, Mai Dai” (meaning that Foreigners are too big and she cannot Deepthroat)… which of course is bullshit.
You can take a lady out of the bar and bring her back to your hotel but you’ll have to pay a Barfine to the bar (usually THB 500 to 600).
BARS : Fantasy Bars : Eden Club
Purely the Kinkiest club/Bar in Bangkok….
- Eden Club is not for everybody: Club specialized 1 guy and 2 ladies ( or more )

I'm considering staying with thai gf in laos where she works for 7-10 days on my next trip to Thailand in January, as a north american who gets a free 30 day tourist visa to Thailand on every trip, do I need an extra visa to come & go from Laos or is my passport good enough?
How much is this extra visa if I need 1?
All I know is that thais just have to pay a 40B passport stamp charge
I think the town on the thai side is called mudahan or something like that, is there any mongering activities during the day when the gf is at work & I'm in this town to kill time because GF says there's nothing to do in the Laos part where she lives.

So I guess a nice hotel that is close to freelance and go go bars and 2500 baht or less and safe. I am coming in at 1145pm so I would like to know where I am heading and know its safe.
2,500 can get you a very nice hotel in BKK but (and I know I will get killed for saying this) as this is your first time I would suggest the Livingstone Lodge.
Yes, I am friends with its owner but it is not the reason why I am suggesting it to you.
For starters, as an ISG member, you will get a 20% discount, they have all day breakfast (in case you wake up late) and the food is great.
Now this is not the main reason why I recommend LL.
During your stay at LL, you can meet some fellow ISG members staying there, meet the owner (Giotto) and discuss all about the best places and best girls (you can't do that in other hotels).
Also, I really suggest you try these places: EDEN CLUB, SOL, Mango
...So I guess a nice hotel that is close to freelance and go go bars and 2500 baht or less and safe. I am coming in at 1145pm so I would like to know where I am heading and know its safe...By the time you get to your hotel it will be late. You might want to call a massage shop and have a woman come to your room to give you a relaxing message and a nice "tuck-in" special. I've used Sabai Sabai Massage on Suk Soi 11 for this a few times when I've come in late (they're open 24 hours). They have some very nice providers especially for this type of service.
I second Nic's recommendation for LL. I've stayed there when in BKK for visits and it was great. It's very relaxed, doesn't feel like a hotel, the food is good, and there's friendly ladies in the Sport Bar. Lots of other options right out there on Soi 33 for massages, etc., too.

first, i gather a few days in pat and majority in bkk. one question i was worried about is which hotel is safe and not goin to steal my things while i am gone because i do plan to shop. so to make this more exact, i think around 2500 baht or less for a hotel should be fine.
one thing that people are losing sight of, where are you going first? you say you want to shop. for what? so you will go to bkk first, shop, then lug all your stuff to pat's??? kind of sounds backwards to me. and of course depending what you want to shop for it could be cheaper in pats then in bkk.
everyone here so far is talking about hotels and places in bkk. if you land at midnight, collect your bags get to pattaya you can be in full swing mode.
hotels are cheaper in pattaya then in bkk. bay walk, baron beach, ones off the street etc... i mention bay walk as they are right on beach road and 5 min walk to walking street. but there are tons of hotels in pattaya.
maybe you don't want to hit bkk first.
nicfrenchy gave you a great run down on options but did not list what the names of each type of massage joint is. i will bow to his expertise on listing out names to each type of place as i don't want to clutter his listing as it is a great listing.
i will only mention that if you are into bj bars then go to star of light in patpong (the only reason to go to patpong in my opinion) and sit down and get a bj right there on the couch, pull in a girl or two or so to help and suck on some nipples and such while the guy next to you or across the way is getting one also. you have [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) on soi 8 also for bj's and a few other places.
but you should decide if you want to run to pattaya first or bkk first. pattaya stays open later, there are late night places in bkk but pattaya pretty much slows down when the sun comes up for about 30 minutes then the day time trade starts to take over also.
so if you are arriving full of spit and vinegar... maybe you want to avoid bkk all together and hit pattaya first.
...The Catalogue is for Japanese people, most of them would never walk in the room and face 20 girls (that’s 40 pairs of eyes staring at you)…
Great and very informative report, NicFrenchy! But I prefer girls that have only one pair of eyes (= 2 eyes) usually! :D
First and foremost. Thanks. These last few posting sessions make me feel a little better about showing up on a wimb with no real agenda.
The only shopping I will be doing is for Fake purses for all the girlfriends and family back home, and maybe a few shirts for myself. Whatever I buy I will ship home so I don't have to lug it around, so no worries there.
Now, no one has offered up a beer session? Come on, I'm sure someone wouldn't mind meeting up for a beer. Haha
Anyhow, I think I'm going to try Dynasty or LL for a hotel. I know in Tijuanna I can ask the hotel to bring up some girls to my room and I choose which one I want. Someone mentioned a tuck in special. Will the front desk know of this?
I think I have a few bars in mind now too.
I have been on DIA and I will be honest. Only 2 or 3 responded back, where I tried this for Manila and I had about 44 replies and over a dozen numbers ready to be called and googly eyed girls all over town "falling in love" with me. Let me ask this. In comparison to PI is Bangkok similar? This is my feel, correct me if wrong.
When in PI there is tons of p4p but it seems the hotels have congo lines of fat old men there courting their new wives around. All the girls seem to fall in love and stare at you in hopes you will talk to them like desperate girls hoping the rock star will reach out and bring them back to the back stage of a concert.
Now when I read about BKK, I get the feeling its all sex. No flirting or girls that act or try to act like they like you. I enjoyed the whole girls desiring me thing and not paying only, because I banged about half on just meeting them and half on P4p. Is this the same in BKK or just pure p4p?

I monger in both and PI and Thai are opposites in MANY ways.
DIA is not big in Thai, getting non P4P to go with will be a chore where as in PI you walk out your hotel door and you got a girl in two minutes it seems like. PI you can pick up girls in malls, restaurants, anywhere for sex and a lot of time not pay for it. In BKK you'll pay for it and they will act any way you want them to act as long as you pay them.
Thai Love Links (pay for site) is bigger and you find P4P pretending to be non P4P on that site. But shoot man, for 10 days go rent it and leave it behind.

Anyhow, I think I'm going to try Dynasty or LL for a hotel.
Seems like you are more into the free lance scene, if so Dynasty is closer to that. More closer to Beer Garden, Hillary's, Gullivers, and then NEP and such.
LL is on Soi 33 more of a hostess bar area. There's thread here called Giotto's Lodge and that is LL. You can ask your questions there about the place.
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=754
The owner Giotto posts all over and his best friend The Pro posts all about it also.
Due to late arrival if you are hot to trot after landing your late night pick up will be around Sukhumvit road free lancers, some bars are open late but you'll be rushing.... or go to Pattaya first which stays open later and more options then BKK.
Fake bags cheaper in Pattaya then in BKK, shirts and tailors all over BKK and Pattaya from over priced to cheap and cheesy.
...

George Sims,
No, neither the front desk nor anybody else here will do that. Livingstone's Lodge is a hotel, and within the hotel complex we are running restaurants and the Sports Lounge. If you are looking for a girl you either bring a girl in from wherever you find her, or you go to the Sports Lounge and possibly find somebody there. That's definitely something you have to take care of personally, we don't want to get involved into that.

The place you are talking about is Mugdahan, it is 700kms north of Bangkok, there is a border crossing there it will cost you $20 US (just bring a couple of passport photos and your passport) if you forget your photos they will charge you another $10US.I have been there a number of times it is a great experience but i would advise 3 to 4 nights is enough.
As far as mongering is concerned i didnt get a chance as i had my Thai GF with me 24/7, i will say that in Mugdahan and over the border in Laos the p4p scene certainly isnt obviously visible.
Again, i think its a good experience heading up country, i last 3 to 4 nights before im ready to head back to Bangkok.
Bad Idea, I wouldn't want the Pro to like the place... he will be around at LL in case I come see you... I don't think I would like that :(Naah,
We are all weird, to a certain extend. And we are not going to take those reports personally, do we?
Look, The Pro needs some consultancy how to start-up his own hotel, and of course I am willing to help him with that :).

PS: If he then afterwards barfines a girl from our bar it's up to him whether he tips or not :D !

Does anyone know where in bkk i can get a HTC mobile repaired? I know there are computer repairs at Pantip, but do they also repair mobile phones?

As of March 2009 i.e. this year, this was my experience.
I don't know if the law has changed, but doubt it, so you'd better check, because it might affect your plans.
You get the 30 day tourist visa, if you enter Thailand via an international Airport, e.g BKK, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc.
It is for a single entry only and free (if I remember correctly).
BUT at local border crossings, such as Vientiane / Nong Kai, you get only a 7 day visa (confirm this!).
So for a "visa run" you would need to fly from Laos to e.g. BKK.
Flights Luang Prabang / BKK are quite expensive.
Check Expedia and then confirm & book with the individual Airlines.
I am sure some members with recent experience can comment.
...BUT at local border crossings, such as Vientiane / Nong Kai, you get only a 7 day visa (confirm this!).
...
Depending on your nationality, you can get a 15-day visa exemption when entering Thailand at the immigration checkpoints which border neighboring countries (and a 30-day visa exemption when entering the Kingdom via an international airport).

They probably can do that at MBK.

Fake bags cheaper in Pattaya then in BKK...
It really depends on your negotiation skills and on where you buy things in Bangkok and Pattaya... but in my humble opinion, clothes, bags, watches (etc.) are usually cheaper in Bangkok than Pattaya. But in Bangkok, you should not do your shopping on Silom or Sukhumvit but on places frequented mostly by locals, such as Pratunam market for instance.

If we were not weird, to a certain extent (extend must be that European spelling I guess :) ) then we would have stopped at less then 100 posts, any over 100 posts is a fucking lunatic.

Touche.... I shall agree and concede the point to you as you view this and add I do all my shopping in BKK.
HOWEVER with respect I think it should be noted.... I view this as the OP being his first trip to Thailand, appears to be going alone and is not meeting up with anyone that knows the places. And given the fact that you must get away from MBK areas and most talked about places (the places that are talked about most on the web not just ISG), and you need to have good negotiating skills and you should have a decent understanding of thai culture and language to negotiate properly... I contend that my post is still accurate for the OP.
For newbies who do not know BKK area or are not willing to venture out and about, Phuket, Pattaya, and other areas are cheaper for many things then what these people will find in BKK.
Many newbies are nervous, unsure of themselves, and do things / stay at hotels / eat at restaurants / go to clubs / go to places / etc... that are most talked about on the web until they get a few trips under their belt. Which is fully understandable.
Then they venture out and find out what LOS is really all about.
Let me get in a little bit more detail than that:
MASSAGE PARLORS :Traditional Thai Massage
MASSAGE PARLORS : Herbal Oil Massage
MASSAGE PARLORS : Body Soapy Massage
BARS : Fantasy Bars : Blowjob Bars
BARS : Fantasy Bars : Eden Club
This should really put an end to many newby questions..they do not have to RTFF, but tusut read this conntribution and go and get the job done! And report back.
Hope it goes in the Report of Distinction
Bien fait, NickFrenchy!

Ok, so I am very happy of what I learned here. Not only did I RTFF, I am going to print it and use it as bible. Well. More like a tool. I really do appreciate the help and info from everyone. I am a very good negotiator and pretty savoy to pick up on trends and know things different in other countries. I am not scared or anything to be alone, I just have a hard time to get my buddies to jump on board with my trips all over. I have been to PI and Tijuanna for Monger only trips. I have a few more places I want to see and compare to see which is the best. If anyone else has any comparisons to other trips I would not mind a few comments on here.
IS anyone else going to be at LL NOV 10 to 17 or just in the area? I wouldn't mind an expert guide to pick their brain and have a few brews.

I could not agree more. LL is a very cool place. I have stayed there at least a dozen times. Never a problem, never a complaint. If the pro has stayed there, incognito of course, as he probably doesn't have the balls to introduce himself to G, (and I know something about having or not having a pair of balls), then he should speak up. You should be aware though that Giotto and his band of merry posters attempt their best to try to "plug" LL as often as possible.
Its expensive, the rooms are not very luxurious, the location is poor in terms of traffic........and thats why they have to "market" it all over the forums in attempt to try to drum up business.
They prefer to "latch" on to newbies who might not know Bangkok, and then rip them off, as such, with their overpriced offerings.
Far better hotels on Sukhumvit, nearer to the action and with far better rooms, all at cheaper prices......
But then, its anyones choice to stay there if they want to.
The Pro.... I've called you out many times, I've said let's have a drink, lets meet, I've sent you msgs on other sites where you are doing the same thing. You might have valid points, you might not. But you are just slamming a place for no reason in most peoples opinion.
Every town we are a newbie in for some time and ISG members meet up at LL as well as other locations. I know for a fact and I will be kicked out of the "LL Fan Club" for saying this but I know for a fact that every guy who has posted support for LL does not stay there at all times.
Trav123 stays at other places when his wife is in town, 1Ball I heard stayed at another place when his GF was looking for him, I stay at serviced apartments due to work, Duni has more experience at more hotels then many folks and posted a hotel listing on ISG, MP Lurker has posted hotel listings all over town, PITA123 stays at other places due to his work, NicFrenchy lives in town and does not need a hotel etc... we could go on and on. I post all the time about hotels and serviced apartments in the hotel thread. Please read the hotel thread and you will see that all of us support more places. But when we can yes we stay at LL because we like it there. So call the Tourist Police and arrest us.
BUT... what you seem to have a problem with is that people can be friends, can frequent a place, enjoy a bar, enjoy the food, enjoy the owner, and yes when we can we stay there. If an ISG newbie or a BKK newbie wants to come to LL they stand a high chance of meeting an ISG member that has been in BKK for multiple years and knows most of the joints to go monger at.
Is that bad? Is that such a bad thing that the owner of LL, Gioto, has a place where ISG members can go, drink, eat, sleep, talk, relax, and OH MY GOD if we are horny we might find a girl. I've had two long term girls out of LL I admit this. I've had 15 or so short time girls out of LL maybe. I've even had a mamasan or two (not current ones folks so don't get your nickers up). Girls want 4,000 or 3,000 baht, I'm not going to get into what girls ask for their time as I honestly for half a year don't know thanks to having a GF. The last girl I took there become more of a GF and is not working there anymore. But when I was at CowBoy you know what, the girls started at 4 K.
Overpriced ???
Drinks... OK let me see the drinks I got at cowboy were about the size of a double shot glass and costed the same as a full adult sized glass at LL.
Overpriced ???
Rooms, comfortable, the owner gives a discount even if you post that his hotel is a piece of shit :D Seriously there is no rule that you have to post postiive you have to post about your MONGERING experience and STAY in BKK etc... to get a discount. You can get a room upgrade, so you could get a high end room for 1800 or so baht. PLEASE CORRECT ME AS I REALLY AM NOT CURRENT ON BILLING..... There is no joiner fee even if I joked to GeorgeSims about it earlier... There are no hidden fees or such. But what is #1 most important to me and many business travelers is that the dang wifi is STRONG and fast and we can do our work while in the bar or at the pool. Or if you are there you can eamil your wife or GF back home telling her how hard you are working.... Many hotels and locations in BKK have crap signal and strength. Can not use skype or trading accounts or live programs due to the weak signals at other locations. At LL you have a strong fast signal and my programs where i need to log in form outside allows me access.
Overpriced???
YES THERE ARE 1,000'S OF ROOMS ALL OVER BKK. Go find what you want OK, all the people you claim to be supporters of LL have posted reviews of other hotels and bars and MP's and such. So you are going to claim anyone who goes to Beer Garden is a Fan Boy of Beer Garden and getting free Singha for posting about it???? Really I think you do have some psychosis going in that head of yours.
I will be the first person to admit that people can have different opinions and there are times that people like 1Ball, NicFrenchy, MPLurker, Giotto, Pita123, and others do NOT always agree on things. But how the fuck could we agree on everything as we are from all over the world and view things from different jobs and countries perspectives. But we are adults and we do talk things out and we do meet. Giotto and I had a nice dinner on soi 12 then a drink at Cowboy my last visit. How does that make me a Fan Boy of LL? How is that bad, the owner of LL meets with a friend in another location.... but you say we only support LL... you really have NO CLUE as to what you say.
If anyone of these guys sent me an email or text message for help I would help them. WHY? because I've meet them and talked to them and went out with them and we all meet at LL or other places and spent time together.
So may I ask if you are afraid, jealous, insecure in your masculinity, or what? Can a bunch of guys who like WOMEN not get together and talk at a place and enjoy that place. Many people go to Ball N Hand and shoot pool and meet there. Are you going to start to slam them?
For ISG readers, newbies, etc... LL is a place you can go to, if you stay there or not, to meet other ISG members who share the same hobby (some of us go to extremes and are total ass holes as I am chairman of the ass hole committee and persona non grata at many locations in BKK), get advice, not feel totally uncomfortable, and learn the lay of the land in BKK. When I go to Pattaya or Manila other places I go to the local ISG hang outs and meet the experienced guys as things change often. You would be a fool if you do not use the ISG resources and people to the fullest. SO WHAT IS YOUR BIG FUCKING DEAL ABOUT MEETING AT LL?
So why do you have such a hard on about these places? Just now the guys (duni, 1ball, others) are starting in again, I've called you out, put up or shut up, meet up for a drink anywhere as I really believe you are a troll. Whatever wrong is done to you let me hear it, were you overcharged 10 baht on your bill? A girl you took from LL said you had a baby monkey and could not perform? What?
Or do you really want advice on how to operate your own business when you open up and are trolling here now.... But until you show some efforts or proof of what you insinuate about others here shut the hell up on attacking ISG members.
Call me whatever you want to call me I don't give a rats ass, I'm the only one calling you out to meet in person, but stop your insinuations about these other members that you do not know or have never met. You are just making yourself out to be a ******* and that is infringing on my title ;)
EDITOR'S NOTE: This report was deleted because the content of the report was largely argumentative. Please read the Forum FAQ and the Forum's Posting Guidelines for more information. Thank You!
Its simple really, keep all your LL and Giotto stuff in the Giotto and LL threads then.
...
The Pro,
It is you who is spreading this discussion to all threads of the Thailand forum. Nobody was doing that in the past.
If Fon Tok mentions to have visited Livingstone's Lodge he suddenly is suspected to be my second handle, or to act on my instruction. None of this allegations is true.
It is quite normal that Livingstone's is mentioned in the main Thailand forum as well as all other places. It is even possible that it is mentioned more often, because many ISG guys come here, just to have a dinner or a beer with me. So - where is the problem?
Last but not least:
It is one thing to discuss our price structure, and everybody can have his own assessment whether it is ok, too expensive or too cheap (I heard all those opinions over the years). A judgement about this is definitely up to each person, who HAS VISITED OUR PLACE / HAS STAYED IN THE HOTEL ROOMS.
It is a complete different issue to state that we are ripping of customers. This can conduct injuries to the interests of our business, and there is the point where discussions can get serious.
Of course mistakes and problems happen here as in all other places ("shit happens"). There are for sure customers who can write about certain incidents when things went wrong. There are reports about those incidents, and there will be reports about those incidents in the future.
But nobody gets ripped off here at Livingstone's Lodge. To state this is an affront, and it disqualifies you as poster who can be taken seriously.

Thank you,

I've been to BKK twice, and was so incredibly spoiled that I'm afraid I'll never be able to match that level of satisfaction until I return. Unfortunately I can't go back any time soon.
The reason I think I'll never be able to match BKK heights? Well, I love extra petite girls, early twenties, and this is nearly impossible to find in New York (although they're everywhere in BKK). I got lucky once on craigslist, but have not been able to repeat that.
I realize this is a Thailand forum, but I don't see any US equivalent. So can someone please help. I don't mind paying a premium. How do you find Bangkokesque extra petite early twenties hotties in NYC?

Choice is yours. I very much appreciate all input that all members have given and Giotto. One thing I hate when checking out a new city is the location and comfort of the hotel when you just go and wonder around. At first I was going to spend one day at LL, but now after watching all the conversation I am going to spend my whole trip there. 1) I love steaks. 2) I love pool 3) fast internet when doing biz is HUGE. Id hate to lug my shit around to hotel to hotel in order to find all this. PLUS A DISCOUNT FOR BEING A MONGER.
This board is a great tool, but some things you have to figure for yourself and I plan to figure out BKK from the comfort of my room at LL!
Giott0, I will be sending you a PM in a few hours once my donation to another forum has cleared! Then I'll ask you a few questions. And guys, I will be posting some day by day experiences. I like all sorts of box, from bargain free lancer box to high end box, so I will try little samples all over.
HOpe to bump into some members at the pool while I sip on my drink and eat one of many steaks!

Well... you're going to Thailand. The girls will blow your mind, and your other end. But the Internet ... don't get your hopes up. You'll be lucky if the electrical power stays on. When you see the wires hanging from the power poles you'll understand.

Far better hotels on Sukhumvit, nearer to the action and with far better rooms, all at cheaper prices......
But then, its anyones choice to stay there if they want to.

Yes you moron, and in spite of your infantile and inept attacks, I shall be staying there for the third year runnig.Eat once there thai food. Fried rice a simply thai dish. They charge. If memory is right about 180 or 220 250. Yes this is overpriced. Yes the food overall is overpriced. But this is normal practice at some hotels here. At amari watergate they charge a cheese burger with french fries 380 baht.
Just posted on Annie's thread, but thought it worth repeating. It made me laugh.
A Korean guy recently told me about the three ages of man:
Youth: Plenty of power, plenty of time, but no money.
Middle age: Plenty of money, plenty of power, but no time.
Old age: Plenty of time, plenty of money, but no power..
What a great idea!
If all the girls wore them it would make some of those early discussions so much easier! I'm planning to go and buy a few packs and distribute them next trip...

(There's clearly a debate to be had about whether kids should be allowed to wear them, but let's avoid that debate shall we?)

I am typing this report in LL right now. So far, I am underwhelm by this place.
However, I will hold my tongue (fingers?) because the day is still young.
I will keep you guys posted.

If Ed gets fired from his job as Children's Secretary, he might make a great moderator for this forum.

However, I will hold my tongue (fingers? ) because the day is still young. I will keep you guys posted.Just finished up with a girl in LL for short time. She is not a stunner but very friendly. I got to rest up because my little bro is not really up to it and she has to give me HJ than cbjtc. She was nice about it though. I need to rest up and actually do some sightseeing.

I was very amused by the story that at one school, rather than banning them outright and making them even more popular, one of the older female teachers started wearing them. As a result, all the cool kids stopped wearing them straightaway!

Here's for you cheapos, a website that find people who land at the same time as you, and go in the same direction so you can share the taxi ride and save money.
www.taxi.to
It's actually a brilliant idea and I see a lot of people will use this. Maybe not in LOS, but in countries like Paris or Muenchen, London... where taxi rates are horrendous.
I arrive and was greeted by Manager and everything was set with room number and check in was super easy. He gave me a quick do's and dont's of Bangkok to keep me safe for my little adventure at 1:30am.
Staff: is all friendly and willing to help with directions and any other question I could muster up.
Room: is very nice and bed is SUPER comfortable.
Food: So far I ate breakfast and lunch here and both meals are cooked wonderful and the complimentary breakfast is a PLUS! It is nice to see that there are Thai menu and Western food. This is great if you have issues adapting to the food here and need a slice of home.
Internet: is very fast via cable plug in or wifi, whichever you choose.
Over all in my first 24hrs. I was treated with respect from everyone and everything is great as promised. The setting here is a tropical ambiance and is a constant reminder I am here on vacation (as the rest of the world calls it "holliday'). As i took a swim in the pool and ate lunch, Giotto came over and introduced himself and gave me a run down on what to do and not to do as well and helped me narrow my search for shopping and women. Offers many choices at his bar alone but insisted on my visiting a few others. This is nice because any advice you get on the outside of these walls will be influenced by biz owners tipping the taxi drivers in order to get your confused ass in the door.
I plan to be here for my ENTIRE trip. No need to look around. Things are safe here and no worries. Sadly I do not want to stop contributing to this board so I am going to have to move here to Bangkok (any ISG discount for a 6 month stay??)
In closing, if you have not been here to bangkok or LL you owe it to yourself to check in for a few days and see what I am talking about.
Let me get a few girls under my belt and ill post a second one about all the adventures I have got myself into!!

The staffs are nice but it is hard for me to get a hold of the manager because he comes late. One thing good about LL is that at least you feel safe and don't have to worry about being scam here. The constant scams out there really take toll on me but I feel safe inside the hotel. For the food, I think because it is more gear toward the farang. I enjoy the street vendors food more and I look like a super sized thai so I blend in easier. Also the place is really quiet which is a plus in this crazy city.
Hi folks,
Recently on two consecutive nights I've picked up girls with no ID.
The first time it came to light when we returned to my hotel and the reception asked for ID. The girl didn't have a card, but produced a tatty paper thingy which wasnt accepted by reception. Having no ID worried me, so I passed...she was a looker too.
The next night, at Nana, I got talking to a FL who asked where I was staying. When I told her (Dawin) she said she couldn't go because she had no ID and instead suggested a ST room. Again, alarm bells were ringing and I passed.
Both these girls were in their mid 20's I'd reckon, so whats the go here? I thought every girl needed ID.
Cheers.

I agree in full, LL is an island in BKK.
Pity (but really nobody's fault) there were building works nearby daytime reminding you where you are, otherwise one might even think to be in a resort in a tropical island.
Daytime life flows easily in the Lodge and right, no scam, no pushing to buy whatever.
Night time is similarly calm and relaxed in the bar, but one can find action and whatever else he wants feeling super safe about his choice of the night.
Certainly not a place for a cheap charlie, but I agree on Giotto's policy to keep it a bit exclusively or, at least, filtered by the price.
Have been impressed by the number of staff working there.
Well done Giotto!
Dont be so fast throwin her back just because she has no ID. Could be a variety of reasons and most won't affect you (unless she's a he). Usually theres another way to get her in (side/back door) or else just insist/steamroll or (heaven forbid) bribe your way in. If she has no ID she may have been passed on before and you may score for less $$$. And of course be safe, watch your shit and take no chances. Where were you staying, BTW?

Anyone have any firsthand experience with an optician in BKK? I just lost/had stolen a pair of perscription sunglasses in a TJ bar and since I'll be in BKK in a few weeks thought I might wait and replace them there.

Top Charoen they are all over Thailand. I used the one on Soi 22 with great results over the years. It is a chain store but the service on Soi 22 and the results were better then at home for me.
The other one is Waltz at Siam Paragon. Those are the only two I know and I liked them both actually. But there are a few on the second floor of Paragon I just not used them all.
I know there are some at MBK also. Opticians are like Dental clinics in BKK they are all over the place....

Has anyone been able to use their Thai prepaid phone line (please specify which provider) abroad to make/receive calls/sms in either Cambodia, Phillipines or Indonesia?? If so, how do you activate it or is it automatic?
Thanks.

Did you have to manually activate roaming by calling the provider or did you just go to Phillipines and find out that it works automaticly?

unfortunately I cannot second KTV's remarks. My experience with the optician in Soi 22 was on the negative side. Though I provided him with a current prescription from my US doc and a locally performed eye exam the new glasses didnt work for me. As I need bifocals this had happened before also in the States but rather then to get the glasses redone for free ( definitely not my fault that the glasses werent ok ) the optician insisted that I would have to pay again if I want them to be redone. I declined as we were talking 12000Baht and recorded it as 'experience'.
Generally the cost for prescription glasses here inThailand are much cheaper than in the US or Europe but there is also a flipside to it.

AIS works in PI for sure but is expensive but hard to refill.Same here, my AIS's 1-2Call prepaid works pretty much everywhere in Asia (and stateside), although it's costs an arm and leg per minute. Rates from Asia start at B30 to call Thailand, B40 elsewhere. SMS starts at B15 upward.
