Your only forms of revenue are bar fines and drink sales. Hot girls bring the guys in who drink, buy lady drinks and then bar fine. So after 5 trips since November its time for some review.

Safety:

Compare to other places I've visited in Europe I can't say I ever felt unsafe in Pattaya. However its a place with lot of man and alcohol so it probably depends on yourself. There have been incidents in the recent past that doesn't make Pataya "safe".

Biggest change of an accidident is not in a club / bar or whatever. But outside. Crossing a road reminds me of the game "frogs". Keep in mind Thai people are bad drivers and this is probably the most unsafe part of the city.

Same for motorbikes. I've used them but only for short distances. Longer then 2-3 km I always took a taxi-meter (car).

From a sex perspective? As Thai people would say "up to you". And from my experience. Anything goes and doesn't matter if its freelance / online / gogo.

Street and soi's.

If you're only want a quick boom boom would say soi 6 (soi sex) is the place to be. Stay out of soi 6/1 unless you're into ladyboys.

Soi 7/8 are mainly beerbars and never saw anything of intrested over there.

Soi 13/1 and 13/2- Some BJ bars and massage places. For me easily to skip.

LK Metro. Basically two streets in the shape of an L filled with bars and gogo's. Saw only a hotty in Pulse (gogo) and Camel toe (bar).

Soi Bakau- Large street near LK Metro also mostly bars.

Walking street is for me more the place to go. But doesn't open before 8 pm.

Songkran in Pattaya is a bit later than it is in the rest of the country. The night I was there it was crowded as heck, but I noticed no lack of girls.

The one night in Pattaya for Songkran was fun, but never again.

If you are going to monger and are over 30, skip Songkran. If you are younger and want to party down, then you might have fun during that time.

Got to spend 5 nights in Pattaya from March 2 to March 7 and I want to share my experiences. After having gone back and literally RTFF for all of 2017 up until the day before I left home, I pretty much came to the conclusion that I would checkout the various options, find what appeals to me, and see what happens.

At 2:45 pm I am on the bus heading to Pattaya while the folks at the airport are still waiting on the 3:15 pm bus.

I arrive in Pattaya right at about 2 hours later, catch a baht bus from the bus station to LK Metropole Hotel and check-in. As far as LK Metropole Hotel goes, I definitely can write a whole report on that place but don't see myself staying there again. I unpack my things, shower, head out to grab a bite to eat, exchange some money, and grab a few items from 7-Eleven to stock in the refrigerator.

Many of the Thai chicks I am "friends" with on Facebook go the the clubs damn nights 6 nights out of the week. The plane landed in the LOS just a little before noon on Friday afternoon, I de-planed, spent about 10 minutes in the immigration line, grabbed my bag and then headed to level 1 of the airport to catch the bus to Pattaya. When the bus from the airport was leaving at 3:15 pm you were probably still in a traffic jam at Sukhumwvit Road in Bangkok. Next time you might as well make a reservation for the Bell bus.

Otherwise you will be liable for income (and capital gains) tax in Germany. EU countries where pensions are tax-free are Hungary, Cyprus, Malta and I think maybe Bulgaria. I don't see an assertion in either of those reports that there is "no antibiotic available to treat it". It is characterized as a drug resistant gonorrhea, which would literally mean at least one of the two commonly used drug treatments already on the market to cure gonorrhea did not cure it. It is reported in the first link below that they are waiting to see if a third antibiotic drug cures it by the end of March and in the second link below that it was "susceptible" to that third antibiotic treatment already on the market.


This article does not say where this chap contracted his bug but Thailand certainly could be likely. Be careful out there guys.

LP.I'm definitely not an expert, but in a study from 2000 (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10907913), 16% of male clients of some brothel were positive of gonorrhea; 26% were positive of one of the three STDs diagnosed. A study from 2007 showed that over 20% of woman sex workers had HIV (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4935540/). It really is a no-brainer: USE CONDOMS!

I went to Maxim as well as one of my girls decided to give it a try. Walked in and recognized many of the girls from various gogo bars. I didn't recognize any D Club girls. I counted over 50 girls but since it's such a large club the place always seems empty. I assume you didn't actually buy a LD because the waitress was incorrect. LD are 200 baht there. Other than my friend there was one other nice girl there. Rest were not great and a few Marilyn Monroe girls. As LBM mentioned, the very generous serving of roasted pork was good. I wish this club the best but 200 baht drinks for average girls is a recipe for disaster imo.

I will listen to Rock and Roll and Classic Rock sometimes as the music formats have something to offer in their own unique way but I am hip hop! If I am going to sit in a spot and catch a good vibe then Hip Hop music is what I want to hear and will seek out. But in the body of the report we find out they are talking about something much narrower than that; they are talking about self-identified FSW (Female Sex Worker) non-venue based freelancers in Bangkok. And the report itself points out and references studies indicating potential predictable problems with their chosen survey method here, (RDS) respondent-driven sampling. That is a form of chain-referral sampling (sometimes known as snowball sampling) and convenience-sampling, which is generally regarded as a bad way to take a survey verses simple random sampling, which is generally regarded as a good way to take a survey.

In RDS surveys, such as this one, the scenario goes something like this; the pollster encounters an HIV-positive subject as the result of offering money to take the survey, an offer to provide free of charge medical treatment for her illness and to pay her more money for every new respondent she can recruit to take the same survey along with the same offer of money to that new recruit for taking the survey as well as more money to her for recruiting more respondents and so on.

That is a very convenient way for the pollsters to "find" what they're looking for but not nearly as accurately informative for anyone caring about the poll results as more commonly used survey methods would provide. Here is why; as one might easily predict, the paid and commission-incentive"ized" subjects will primarily recruit their close circle of friends and relatives (they certainly aren't going to roam the streets, tapping on shoulders and conducting their own labor-intensive form of simple random sampling survey), for all we know people who are already part of an HIV-positive or drug addiction related group, bring them back to the pollster on the promise that they will also get paid, given free of charge medical treatment and sent out with an incentive to earn commissions for every new respondent they recruit for the pollster and on and on it goes. IMO, that is why they got such an "unexpectedly high" (I would say incredibly high, as in not credible) percentage of respondents who tested positive for HIV eleven years ago.

Moreover, unless I missed it, I did not see an assurance in that report that the HIV-positive respondents they were counting acquired HIV through sex rather than through needles or that the respondents were even asked if they also engaged in needle-related drug use. So if the pollster lets it be known that he wants to survey, pay and "hire" for future ongoing commissions only FSW, you can pretty much bet big money every girl who walks into that pollster's office will say she is a Female Sex Worker. And, also conveniently, since this was a survey of only non-venue based freelancers, the pollsters only have the word of the respondents themselves to verify that they really do work in the P4P business (more than, say, once in a great while) with no mamasan, bar owner, co-workers, pay stubs or regular salary income records to corroborate or deny it.

I'm not saying there weren't some HIV-positive freelancers working somewhere in Bangkok back in 2007 or that the number and percentage was very tiny. But I would be much more startled by that "more than 20%" result if they came to it from a simple random sampling survey of the freelancers lined up on lower Sukhumvit, in Patpong and around the Democracy Monument area near Khaosan Road. And it would be even more startling if it was a survey result from a simple random sampling of ALL P4P girls in Thailand, venue based included, as one might erroneously conclude from the headline. But that isn't what this kind of RDS methodology survey is telling us or could reasonably be expected to tell us.

In this 2 soi you can be direct with girls and tell them in advance what you want and asking for the price. 1. Girls look.

More attractive girls in Phuket. Phuket girls are generally more good looking and hot than the girls in Pattaya. Phuket girls are mostly also more friendly, funny and easy-going than the girls of Pattaya. Double points to Phuket! Pattaya-Phuket: 0-2.

2. Girls service.

Same same. Pattaya-Phuket: 1-3.

3. Girls prices.

Also same same. A couple of years ago it was more expensive to bring home a Phuket lady than a Pattaya lady. But my experience is that the prices now are the same in both places. Pattaya-Phuket: 2-4.

4. Barfines.

Generally slightly higher in Phuket. However you can find cheap as well as expensive barfines at both places. Pattaya-Phuket: 3-4.

5. Beers and drinks.

Cheaper in Pattaya and sometimes much cheaper in Pattaya. Pattaya-Phuket: 4-4.

6. Costs for food and accommodation.

Cheaper in Pattaya. Pattaya-Phuket: 5-4.

7. Bars & nightclubs invironment.

There are some really cool and nice nightclubs with a high standard in Phuket. Also there are a lots of cozy places near to the beach in Phuket. Also the bar complexes are more stylish in Phuket. It's a much greater experience to visit the bar complexes and night clubs in Phuket than in Pattaya. Pattaya-Phuket: 5-5.

8. Distances.

Patong (Phuket) are much smaller than Pattaya which means walking distance to everything in Patong. In Pattaya you oftenly need to rely on public transportation. Pattaya-Phuket: 5-6.

9. Things to do in the daytime.

There are not so many things to do or see in Pattaya. However, Phuket has alots of things to offer such as loads of beautiful beaches, island-hopping, snorkling, driving around the island on bikes, visiting view-points and much more. Pattaya-Phuket: 5-7.

10. General impression.

Phuket feels more clean and nice than Pattaya. Phuket also gives a more funny vibe than Pattaya. And the invironment with all the beautiful beaches and the green forest mountains surrounding Patong is a much more relaxing and beautiful place for a holiday than Pattaya. Pattaya-Phuket: 5-8.

Yes, I noticed Eden Club was closed tonight as well. That was quick if it already got shut down.

I went to Maxim as well as one of my girls decided to give it a try. Walked in and recognized many of the girls from various gogo bars. I didn't recognize any D Club girls. I counted over 50 girls but since it's such a large club the place always seems empty. I assume you didn't actually buy a LD because the waitress was incorrect. LD are 200 baht there. Other than my friend there was one other nice girl there. Rest were not great and a few Marilyn Monroe girls. As LBM mentioned, the very generous serving of roasted pork was good. I wish this club the best but 200 baht drinks for average girls is a recipe for disaster imo.

Personally I love this style of music and the louder the better if the sound system is good, which it is at Maxim.I was at Tantra last night and found out the owner of Eden is the same. Good overview, but I might disagree with the conclusions. For one, you give equal ratings to each comparison point. Some of use would assign a different weighting factor. For example, I don't drink much, so I really couldn't care less on how much the drinks are. And I don't care so much about the quality of the discos, only if they have available women in them! And while Patong is relative small in geographical area, I like that Pattaya has three major areas that are easily accessible by baht bus. And one factor you did not consider was simply the shear number of available girls in Pattaya. It is overwhelming! So while the relative percentage of hot girls on Bangla Road may exceed that on WS, the fact that there are so many more girls on WS means that the total number of hot girls there exceeds that on Bangla. True, there are more men as well to compete with, but I feel the overall opportunity to monger successfully in Pattaya is superior. A factor as well is the ease of getting to Pattaya from Bangkok. You can leave BKK and be on Soi 6 in around 2 hours for 1200 baht (more or less). To get to Phuket, you almost need to fly there (several thousand baht), with a 2 to 3 hour layover in BKK, the flight, then waiting for luggage in HKT and getting a ride in for around 800 baht. Plus the reverse leaving.

On my first mongering trip to Thailand I first went to Phuket and had a good time. Then I went to Pattaya and the number of girls and places and opportunities was overwhelming! It was a downside at first, but as I got used to it I regarded it as a positive. After three trips I dropped Phuket as a mongering destination as things were so much better (IMHO) in Pattaya. I still visit Phuket, but only with my Thai GF, and I think that mimics what is happening in Phuket. Phuket has become such an international destination for couples and families that the lone male sex travel is slowing being pushed out. Still plenty of opportunities, but on my last few visits it seems that as more and more couples are showing up on Bangla, the mongering opportunities, while still good, and very slowly being run off.

But you have done a good basic analysis and it is up to each of us to consider your points, reassign rating assessments and add whatever other factors we may have, and make a decision. Certainly, if you want a well-rounded vacation, Phuket would have the lead by far. If you mostly want to monger, then it is hard to justify Phuket over Pattaya.

3. If you primarily want to have a great beach vacation, spend a few nights in BKK or Pattaya and then fly further south, past Phuket with or without a girl to keep you company. The best Thai beaches lie to the south of Phuket.

It is free to get in the club/bar whatever. Buying drinks for yourself ensures they can keep the doors open and the lights and A/C on. I am one guy that has always said that lady drinks are for suckers. That is probably because when I go out I am hunting for pussy and not just trying to hang out and drink. So I know how to approach a chick right off to ask about going with me without all the drinks and small talk. With that being said, I do understand the purpose of lady drinks and it ain't to interview a chick. You can ask her questions and touch on her as long as she sits or stands there without buying her a damn thing.

Besides getting a regular salary, lady drinks is the way that the ladies make money. They are not there drinking just for the pleasure of it, so you buying a bottle for yourself does shit for them. They are looking for customers that they can make money from, not drinking buddies. I do not know many people that are trying to sit in the bar with the same hooker for 2 hours, and the hooker definitely is not trying to do it if the baht are not adding up.

Imagine yourself working at a car dealership and someone comes in and wants to test drive cars all day long with no intention of buying one. You work off commission and would not want to waste your day on that bullshit. Same thing with lady drinks. So you are either paying a bar fine that secures her earnings for the night, or you are buying her lady drinks that will do the same. It is more her making a living, not hustling you as you have put it.

The last couple of months I was messing with a chick that worked at a gogo bar on LK Metro. Every so often I would come in and buy her and her best friend a drink. (Why not? She wanted to come see me everyday and I never had to give her any money.) They would make 50 baht from each lady drink. (From 6 drinks per night, they have already made the Thai minimum wage for high school graduates.) When that drink was gone the mamasan would come along and make them get up and leave if I was not buying them another drink. And I definitely was not doing that.

In a beer bar it is a bit different. The bar would generally be a U-shape with the girls corralled inside of it. In this situation there is really no place for the girls to go and they will sit there all day long and play Connect Four with you even if you do not buy them a drink.

I see you spend a lot of time in Brazil so that format is well known to you. I hope to go later this summer, so I've been researching and see you in the SP forum. Anyhow, Thailand is different from US or other go go places. You don't go and spend time in one place. On one street there will be literally 10-20 go go bars all side by side.

So my MO is go in one that looks promising and buy a beer. If you like the ladies, maybe buy one a drink. See if things click. If she is not to die for, go to the next bar. I would spend no more than15-20 minutes in any given club. Rinse repeat. Until you find your girl. Then bar fine her and make the happy dance!
