I think it's the other way around: most of them are nice but some of them are shit minded. For the few mourning the loss of Cherry Restaurant on 3rd Road near Soi Lengkee at least they used the space for a good purpose. If you had such a network then it would be easy to get the girl to visit you on her day off or after work easily for a very reasonable price.
But for a visitor, even a frequent one it might prove to be difficult. You are a one off customer who may or may not return. The bar is the girl's livelihood. Why would she double-cross the bar owner?
Further, the concept of bar fine is to compensate the bar for the absence of that girl, who, if not taken out by you, might have brought in more business. It is an established practice in the mongering world of SEA.

In Pattaya, you will not be safe if you pick a fight with Thais, are rude to Thais, disrespect the country or the King or, importantly, decide to lean over railings on high floors of shopping malls while drunk and depressed.
The BDSM places are great and fun. Try Police headquarters on Beach Road or seek the knowledgeable advice of any member of the Tourist Police.

Any unlocked GSM phone will work and you can get a SIM card at the airport after you clear customs.
Is Pattaya better than Bangkok, or vice versa? That debate will never be resolved. Both cities have their good and bad points. I usually spend three days in Pattaya for every day I spend in Bangkok. I prefer the laid back beach vibe in Pattaya, where you are never more than 100 feet from some little hole-in-the-wall place where you can sit with a drink or a snack and just watch the world go by. Granted, Pattaya is not very upscale. There are some lager louts stumbling around, some Chinese tour groups clogging the sidewalks and some losers from the four corners of the globe. But you can always find a chill place where you'll feel comfortable. In Bangkok the girls are hotter and there is world class shopping dining lodging and sightseeing. It's also closer to the airport than Pattaya, which is convenient if your outbound flight leaves in the wee hours. If you have the time, I recommend going straight from the airport to Pattaya, then returning to Bangkok for a few days before leaving. But the other knowledgeable gentlemen may have a differing perspective.
As for things to do, or not: Have fun and be pleasant. Nobody likes a guy who looks like he's unhappy. Pay the going rate. You're on vacation for crying out loud. Have used the debit card at Jakarta and got a good exchange rate rather than using the Forex card (Involves initial setup cost).
The international Debit does charge the premium how ever I noticed was equal to the Commission given to money changers. Also the exchange rates through the Master card and Visa directly are better at ATM on debit card than what is loaded via the Forex.

We visited at 5 pm on a Monday afternoon. There were about a dozen girls working. For me about 3-4 were doable. I eyed Opal and she quickly came over for a ladydrink. If you don't mind paying in advance bar fines that average 500-2000 baht in hopes your take home girl will perform, Pattaya is still a go. Lots of selection, many very pretty with enhanced tits, but mostly young and stupid with few speaking English with any facility.
If you're like me and don't pay in advance (cardinal rule of mongering) do not waste your money and time on Pattaya. Almost impossible to separate the girls from their bar owner chains and avoid bar fines, etc. I even got a hotel ON soy 6 within a few meters of all the bars and found it impossible to get them to shortime on their own, without paying a barfine even if you try to meet them off work hours. I think many LIVE on site, so hard to do.

Pattaya expensive, unfriendly, not accomodating. Dumaguete, speaks some English. Pattaya, nostly forget it, you must have Thai. Dumaguete, easy to get around, cheap reliable transport. Pattaya, spread out, hard to get around, hard to find things, transport corrupt, expensive and unreliable. Thais, unfriendly, confrontational, get mad quickly. Filipinos,-accomodating, nice, friendly, non-confrontational. Forget Pattaya, and forget Bangkok it's a waste of money and time.

Exchange booths in Pattaya are in fierce competition and the biggest difference between one and another, there is perhaps a THB 0. 05 (5 satangs) to the Dollar, Euro or Pound. Now exchange your one week money of, say USD 500 at the worst booth, tell me how much you lost?
Of course, if you exchange a minor currency you're surely getting a worst exchange from interbank rate. You can't do anything about that. Just don't exchange at the airport, and avoid or limit ATM transaction which charge 200 THB or or more.

I did get one of the top 2 best haircuts of my life there though for only $1. I hurry up and paid and ran out of there in case the guy figured out he might have been telling me the wrong price.

This opinion is usually reserved for guys that have visited numbers of times or expats who live here like me?

What we see as visitors is the romance of their culture during holidays and celebrations like the songs/dancing even the temples the Land of Smiles when it is really window dressing especially in Pattaya/Bangkok and heavy tourist locations.

They told me about their family members that resided in the USA (where I am from) and their favorite NBA team, the Golden State Warriors. After talking with them and feeling welcomed, I finished my walk to the memorial, took some pics and took a Grab car back to Gramercy in Makati. It seems as long as I was spending money in Thailand, the people were cool. That was NOT the case in the Philippines.
During my Philippine travels, I never been to Dumaguete. But I will definitely put it on my bucket list during my next time I hit the Philippines.

If you're the type to settle for subpar just for the sake of checking off a box, then that is one approach though not one I'd take. I am making a never-before summer trip to Pattaya in under 2 weeks! (Well, summer in the northern hemisphere). I planned this trip back in early June, primarily due my desire to see my Soi 6 bar girl Secret. Last report, we had a thing going. Before I head back there, I thought I would give an update.
Things got heated between us for a while. We were using the L word (me, not quite meaning it, but it was fun to say and to hear) and texting for relatively long periods each day. The bar girls are not allowed to be on their phones, so she would sometime send a quick message on her way to get a meal, or when she went to the toilet, etc. She didn't do it for long times, but I saved the messages and over a full day they become fairly lengthy. But when she stopped doing it, it was sudden. Yeah, in mid-July her texting dropped way down. I knew that she was depressed about her job. She wanted to quit and go home, feeling that no man would ever love her now that she was a "bad person", and said that she smiled on the outside and would appear to have fun, but she was crying on the inside. But why she suddenly cut back on her texting I was not sure.
She was approaching being a bar girl for 5 months, and that is likely sufficient time for a "good girl" to start turning into a hard core bar girl I suppose. She has never asked me for money or complained to me, she simply just cut back on her talking to me. I tried to think of reasons. But things had clearly cooled, and likely it was for the best. I was about to give up but last week she told me she had left the bar. She mentioned her bar had a rules change she couldn't accept so she took an indefinite leave of absence. She went there to figure things out but, she still wasn't texting me that much, and she clearly had plenty of time to do so if she wanted. She told me she would go back to Pattaya to meet me.
I wondered if she would be able to stay away. I certainly believe she hates her job. And maybe with low season she is not making much money and that might be depressing her. She has said she wants to hurry up and make the money she wants to make then get out of there. Better to do 3 men a day than 1. She hates it, but it shortens the time she has to be a bar girl. IDK. But I still wondered what it was that started to turn her off to me. I mean, again, it is for the best overall I am sure. So, that could possibly, I suppose, be our last message for a while. I will try to keep quiet. She knows I am to be there in 2 weeks and if she wants to be with me she can write me. I am going back as she wanted me to, and while I still have no idea what happened, I have to believe it will be for the best.

Made recently a visit to these clubs. In Happy, they were blocking Indian guys at the door, a doorman had a sign saying 200 (or 2. 000) baht to enter, the other two were just blocking a group of guys (a very old Black Guy not good looking was also blocked), because its in the end of an alley they have time to decide what to do. I am Caucasian and was allowed to enter without delays, inside there were mainly Japanese, in a ratio to Caucasians around 15/1, so I wonder if sooner or later this will be just a Japanese Go Go.
In terms of the place it was very expanded since last year, some external bier bars disappeared to make way to a bigger structure now with 3 stages, it was not full but still a large attendance. In terms of girls, there were definitly some lookers, it was an welcomed view after a beach road walk where 95 % of the Women were in the zone 3-4. Girls were not pushy for Lady drinks something is always a plus in my opinion. During my stay there was a Special show with some nude dancing from good looking girls, drinks were 145 Baht. I enjoyed my stay, it will be on my list of future visits.
Now Windmill, I left with mixed feelings. No doubt its the most naughty place in town for nudity and interaction with the girls, many years ago Whats Up also had this kind of environment but I never saw nothing like Windmill. The very big downside was the terrible look of many of the girls, unbelivable. When I left I could not understand how they could put many of those women on a stage, its not their fault but the management, I think the ones who went there recently will understand what I am saying. G Clubs are like beers bars on Soi 6 in that you pay for a room to fuck the girl in. Sometimes you will find better decoration in a G Club. Some also have food and a pool. At some G clubs the girls will dress better {evening dress) and put on better makeup. A gogo is more of a strip club where in most they do not take clothes off. They pretty much shuffle around on stage to music.

Last time I've been in Insomnia (in 2015) I found only one girl that looked ok and she quoted me 4 K. Trying to bring down the soi6 girl at 800 is a good idea (but if she doesn't want and you like her, take her anyway), but is probably a better idea for guys that stay in Patts long time or go there regularly. It's been said multiple times on ISG that some of these girls are willing to lower their price to go with some customers.
Don't fall for the Russian / CIS girls is good advice, except if they are not WG.

Ha ha. Got a few laughs. We certainly get to see why Indians are sometimes seen as not desirable customers, and refused entry to some bars. Applying India standards of Frugality (meanness) in Thailand probably is not a great idea. However he seemed happy his "game" worked for him.
Indians seem to believe that every girl will start on a price too high and then drop it down to a price too low. I know from experience though that one of my semi-regular girls (already offering a low price) refuses to bargain with guys. She says she likes Farangs. Probably does not get many non Farangs. Many guys (various nationalities) were trying to offer her sub 1 K prices and she was not the slightest bit interested to talk to them. After all, she was superior looking in the area (although far too skinny to suit some), and not finding it difficult to get a customer that will pay her price. Yeh, I agree that bargaining below 1 K can work, but for the most desperate of girls, that are generally not wanted.
Strangely when girls have offered me bargain basement prices (below 1 K) out on the street, I knocked them back. Just were not doable.
1. If your game is OK try accosting beautiful women wherever you find them. Streets, malls, eateries, etc (your gut should tell they're WG). Don't lose a chance, don't be shy and don't be too cocky. Get chatting a few lines, get a bit touchy feely (they really don't mind that from a stranger IMHO) and exchange Line IDs. I've had the bestest of luck that way. It's OK to go in Pattaya and not spend loads of bucks on girls or drinks (Never paying drinks for bargirls or not taking a drink for oneself is a bad advice though). There are rarely gogo chicks on their day off in iBar. Chicks do not go to Pattaya to have days off. It is a freelance joint. There is no link between anyone to get any commission. It is simply one price for rich foreigners and a lower price for poor Thai locals for certain drinks. I have been to iBar 100 times and have never bought a drink for a chick. There is no need to. But if you insist, then just sneak 100 baht to her and let her order it on her own. Every club in Pattaya is like this, not just iBar.
You would have to be a damn fool to give one of those chicks 4000 or 5000 baht. I have never even read a report of them even asking for that much. Take note from Pete Nut's report below. That is how things are supposed to be done.

Trip Report, Tuesday, Day 1-2.
Left LAX in wee hours of late Sunday night (actually Monday morning, being the wee hours), EVA Airlines bound for BKK via TPE. I cashed in some miles to get upgraded to business class into TPE, then premium economy on into BKK. As I typical for EVA, the flight went well.
I am actually writing the first entry of the first draft of this sitting in the EVA lounge in TPE. I will arrive in BKK a bit after 11 AM Tuesday. I read the Thai Visa forums which seems to have a lot of bloviating expats who can't find anything to like about Thailand but continue to stay there. Two typical comments or complaints I seem to notice the most is that is that the Chinese don't go into the WS bars in Pattaya (huh? And the immigration lines at BKK are hours long. I hope I prove them wrong. After arriving at BKK I will be met by one of Nam's limo drivers.
I have been checking out some ladies on Thai Friendly, and I found the massage girl I had the hots for on Soi 13/1 last time. She, Aon, is a classic beauty and I was pleased to see her images on TF. I made contract with her and her only question was did she give me a happy ending or just a massage. Haha. Well, no happy ending for me as I can't end from a HJ nor BJ, which is all she had offered me, but I may stop by after I arrive for, if nothing more, a basic massage. Well, why waste time thinking about the unknown when in a few more hours I will begin the search for truth! Off to catch my flight to BKK!
Taipei had problems getting planes out for some reason. There is some construction going on, but it delayed our departure about an hour and I don't know why. I may have my directions mixed up, but we were parked on the north side and were delayed 20 minutes pulling back. Then we were sent around to the south side and it took another 20 minutes to get almost to the end for takeoff. Departures and landings on that runway were very slow but we were at the point when there was just one plane ahead of us and then they sent us back the north side! Yet another 20 minute delay. The pilots, other than the first push back delay, never did explain any of this to us which would have been nice.
Anyway, the flight to BKK went smoothly. I had read online on Thaivisa.com that the immigration wait times at BKK were horrendous. Posters there were saying the airports had hours of immigration lines while the streets of Phuket and Pattaya were empty. What is the truth? For me, the immigration line was about the shortest ever. When I got to the line I was number 7. I lucked out and my line had two officers, so I practically whizzed through and my bag was waiting for me. So, from the time I stepped off the plane to the time I walked out of immigration minus the walking time was not even 10 minutes. Not to say the airport was not busy, but for me, I had no problems at BKK at all.
Got Nam's limo to Pattaya. When I landed and got inside I emailed her to let her know I was late. I hate having drivers wait, but they had my flight information and if they looked they could see the flight was late, but I wanted to let them know. The driver was waiting for me. She was young and cute and was quite professional and took maybe 1:15 to get me to my hotel. The Pattaya traffic was lighter than last time (April / May), but hardly sparse.
Checked in at the Flipper House was efficient. I actually have two bookings. The first is through next Saturday and the second is for the last 5 or 6 days of my trip. I like to split up the booking as it is better to make reservations well in advance, but sometimes it can be difficult to change the days (like add a day or subtract a day) and you have to get the approval of the hotel to do so. In this case, I wanted to be able to take those last few days to possibly leave Pattaya before going home. In this case, I have 7 days advance free cancellation. So, if things go well with Secret I could take her to Phuket or, if they didn't go well, I could stay in town or possibly go meet my so-called Thai GF. I have until Friday to cancel without a fee. But actually, the staff saw that I had two bookings but I forgot to book Saturday night. If I wanted to do that, the room was available (their biggest suite) and I could have it at the same rate. I told them I was considering cancelling, but would let them know if I wanted it.
Anyway, I am checked in through next Saturday. After some light unpacking I decided to do some walking to try to burn up some calories from all the airplane food, and possibly see Aon at Supivida (spelling) massage on Soi 13/1. I walked down there but she was busy, so walked around 13/1 and 13/2, passed back by to see Aon but she apparently was still busy.
I walked all the way to Soi 6, but how would it go? That is where Secret is working and though she should know I will be there by the end of the week, I have never told her exactly. She has never asked me, either. I was still planning to avoid seeing her for a few days. We had texted a little more but 3 days have now gone by without me hearing anything. Pure logic shows that whatever relationship we once had was now pretty much gone, which while painful it is the predictable outcome that has to be. I have known this all along and that this was the price to be paid for letting myself get emotional with a much younger woman. (I do not call her a bar girl as she is not acting to me like she is a bar girl, and she situation would not be too much different if I had fallen for a non-working girl, I. E. A basic vacation love affair.).
Anyway, I walked all the way and entered the street maybe around 4:30 PM. There were plenty of ladies and I could tell the number of males was down. I could also tell times were low as I got cat-called far more than last time. When the youngins are cat-calling the old dudes, times are slow in Pattaya! I got a accosted by a couple but I let myself get stopped by Bea at Ruby. She was looking good and I remembered she was surprisingly good last time, so I thought why not, I will let her be my first. She comes across as a bit of a nerd, as she wears glasses, but either because she knew me from before or she was hungrier in the low season, she was a little more aggressive and gave me some light kisses. I didn't see any need to prolong things, so after not too long I just blurted out that I wanted to take her upstairs. She seemed surprised that she didn't have to work too hard but happy to take me up. I paid the fine (300 I think, but I really don't remember) and up we went. The room was nice enough with its own shower and toilet. We each undressed and she gave me a reasonable shower and we proceeded to bed. Let me interject that a big tour group of Chinese tourists came walking down the street before I left Jin. A whole bus load of men and women. I don't like seeing that. Pattatya built up a delicate balance with the bars, the women and the mongerors. This is messing it all up potentially. It is happening in Phuket. Good or bad overall for the people of Thailand? I don't know.
But as I was walking down Soi 6/1 fighting off the LBs, the urge to see Secret got me to venture over a cross street to take a peek at her bar. I did not see her. She was either in the back or was out with some random dude. Sigh. The price we pay for falling for a bar girl.
It was quite dark by this time. I walked back down to Soi 7 for taco Tuesday night, then back to the hotel to rest a little before heading to WS. I am jet lagged a bit but I decided I did not want to nap. When I nap in the evening of the first day it always screws my body up. I think it best to fight off the urge to sleep and just get out there, walk around and get the adrenalin to power your way through. And that is what I did. And I was curious as to how busy WS would be, given the claims Thailand was losing tourists.
I found actually found WS to be quite busy. No, not super crowded, but there were plenty of people. I went into a few bars and the Chinse were still there chain smoking and while none were brimming full and seats could be had at all, they were hardly bare. Outside, there were still plenty of people, though with perhaps more Indians now.
I ended up at Red Car and ended up with Lee, a late 30's, or probably an early 40's lady looking to get picked up. She was nothing special but was ok for her age, plus I was jet lagged and was actually leaving when she caught my eye, so it was either her or no one. I took her home as she offered 1000 baht for short time. She was ok but I figured no way would I come with her so I used one of my less favored Aoni condoms. I have had breakage problems with them and, sure enough, it broke as soon as I entered her. I actually think she put it on much too tight. I got a new phone and I am using the old phone for my travel phone, I had some problems with Viper and Line as a result. I unwisely decided to go to McD's to sip a Coke while I worked the issues and, well if I am here, since I didn't stuff myself for breakfast at the hotel, I will stuff myself now with a cheeseburger and fries. Oh well, it lasted me for the rest of day.
While I was out I decided to contact Secret again. To my surprise she texted me back fairly quickly. I learned she had been home and was just now returning to Pattaya and would bet here at the start of business. So, she was not with a random dude last night and she just completing a 10 hour bus ride. Well, ok, now what do I do? Rather than discuss the possibilities I will simply tell you. Once Jin left at 2:30 I headed to Soi 6, still no really sure what I was going to do. I considered going back to Ruby to partake of one of the other lovey ladies I had seen the day before when I was with the delightful Bea. I did make it to Ruby, and Bea was right there and she was tempting, but I had to accept that my heart wanted Secret at that point. She is being somewhat affectionate but once in bed, she starts to chill. This is repeating a pattern from last time. What the heck? Maybe it has already happened in her eyes but I am that good friend. Maybe I crossing from her thinking I am her lover to a client finally. I don't know.
So, this second day in Pattaya ends mixed. I am with Secret and I just had one of the best lovemaking sessions of my life. But her lack of emotion, other than when she first sees me, is telling. I need to clear this up. Is she holding back out of fear (logical) or has her feelings actually died down. Her reaction in the bar was not fake and it was real. So, I don't know. I should not be trying to over analyze this. But as I have said, I already know it is ending. But exactly HOW will it end?

Trip Report, Tuesday, Day 3, August 21.
So, this second day in Pattaya ends mixed. I am with Secret and I just had one of the best lovemaking sessions of my life. But her lack of emotion, other than when she first sees me, is telling. I need to clear this up. Is she holding back out of fear (logical) or has her feelings actually died down. Her reaction in the bar was not fake and it was real. So, I don't know. Some of band members there have gotten to recognize us now and they were happy to see us. I was getting super tired by 11:30 and if I closed my eyes I would dose and wake up immediately as I started falling. She was getting tired too, probably after being home and that long trip on a bus back at night, so by 12:30 we headed to the hotel. I think our session went better. We had a brief talk that I will keep private (though our language barrier makes is difficult and we never really know if the other understands), but I think she had a better big O. Trip Report, Friday, Day 5, August 23.
I spent until after 2 PM working on my reports and actually got 2 posted today! I then decided to head down to near Soi 13/3 to the High Five tailor shop, recommend by Mr. E, to see about a suit being made. If Mr. E recommends a place you know it is good. For $205 they will make a custom tailored basic suit, pants and a silk shirt. You can get higher priced options, but this seemed to be a solid suit and since I will likely wear it only a couple of times for the rest of my life, I don't need any higher quality. He can have one made in a day, but to get the most out of custom tailoring he needs a couple of days to get a couple of fittings in.
Next I went to 13/1 to that massage place, Supinda, or whatever, with Aon, who I guess I mistakenly identified as Aom in past reports. She was there this time, sitting outside, and I almost didn't recognize her. She came out and I went back to sit with her. It was still awkward and our language difficulty really manifested itself. She sat close and held my hand, but I watched another girl in there to the same with a dude she just met and looked to be having fun. Secret is at least being somewhat honest and not going overboard with emotion for me. But I am seeing things slipping away and not sure if I should encourage it or try to hold on for a while longer. I try to play the romantic and I get up, offer her my hand to get her to stand, and I walk over to the exact spot where we first met. She did seem warmed by that, asking "You really remember?
It was a bit past midnight and we weren't making any more progress and my mind was frozen. I decided I wanted to get out of there and I got up, and told her I was leaving as I paid the bill. I asked what she was going to do, and she said go back to her hotel or apartment or whatever it is. I said she could come with me, and she asked if I was going to BF her. These next few works will seal my fate somehow. But I don't like for her to use that term with me, and I said whatever she wanted to do I would make it happen. She could come with me right then, she could stay and work and then do whatever (go to her place or, who knows, go on a BF, even though the bar was empty of other men), or come to me after the bar closed. She said I had to pay a BF. I said yes, but I didn't want her to call it that as I was not buying her. She seemed to fixated on that, but I repeated the options of go with me now, come to me later, or go home. And, don't worry about the BF. Seems simple to me, but that would prove to be a fatal error on my part.
I walked back to my hotel and, after thinking some, felt that I would give her another chance in case she had forgotten my room number. I sent her the number "in case you change your mind. " And I expressed my sadness about how things were going. I sent her a crying emogi and, to my surprise, she sent me a sad emogi back. I wrote back "Why you sad? I am her for you. Whatever you want. " To clarify, I then said "That means: come by if you want" and adding "I am too tired for sex so don't worry about that. " She read them all before work ended, but no more responses.
So I spent the night alone, but I left with a bad vibe when what I said was intended to let her know I wanted her and I would take care of her for whatever she wanted to do.

FL Hawk dude. I totally get it. I do it too. You get so fixated on a girl you ignore all the signs and all the negatives. But Man you need to move on!
My friend had the best advice when Thifany got engaged. He said to just get out there and start working again. That there is a BETTER Thifany around the corner. I thought he was full of shit. But he's done this a lot and he is right. There are literally billions of girls. Just keep working it and you'll hit gold.
And sure enough. It was literally only two months later I scored my BA hottie and she is sooooo much better. Yet some day she'll be taken and I will lament it deeply. But I will then work for the next one. The even better one.

Trip Report, Saturday, Day 6, August 23, Part 1.
I went for an early morning walk along BR, having not slept well. I saw a dozen busses full of Chinese unload to get onto boats for Ko Larn I supposed. Good for them. I don't think I have commented much on the weather here but it has been delightful. There is rain in the area but very little here, and what little there is has been very light. It is cloudy, which helps with the temperatures, but I have barely been breaking a sweat walking around. Yesterday and today it was sunnier and some sweat was broken, but this weather has been awesome.
I am pain over how things went with Secret and that she didn't come to see me last night. I guess I could have bar fined her and she would have come with me, but I wanted her to actually want to be with me and she would not say that, just that I needed to pay the BF. Why was she hung up on the crazy notion I didn't want to pay the fine? I texted her to tell her she broke my heart and I didn't understand why. Stupid? Perhaps, but at the time I thought it made sense, as I wanted us to discuss what was happening and see if we could salvage it. She replied that she was sorry she disappointed me. I said it was probably me that was a disappointment, in that I had not been showing her more fun. I mean, we were fairly quiet at the bar (language issue), and we had only gone to Terminal 21 and WS to listen to music. I promised I would take her to some places, but we both know Pattaya is not exactly a good dating spot if you don't like loud music and drinking. Then I tried to explain what I was saying the night before and she was still on the "if you don't pay the bar fine I can't go with you" bit. This issue seems to have pissed her off and she won't let it go and I don't understand! I try to veer off and tell her I have been a bad boyfriend and I want to take her to the Temple of Sanctuary. She likes that idea, but says she has to leave town Sunday to travel to her old factory city to terminate her apartment. Hmmm, does that mean she has decided Pattaya is where she will be for a while or what? If so, that could be depressing her and making her moody.
I say I can BF her today and she says up to me. I should have paid right then but noooooo. I tell her she is not my bar girl so it is up to her. She says nothing really. I say if she wants to see me then text me, otherwise I may be by later as I get bored when I am not with her. She repeats again that if I don't pay the bar fine she can't go with me because she follows the rules of the bar, then adding that if I am not willing to pay she can't go. Sigh. I just say "I know" and add "I will only take you if you want to go with me. " She replied "even if you are a boyfriend, I have to follow the rules". Yes yes yes I know that! Why is she making a big deal out of this? But I say "It seems like you don't want to go out with me. " And she says "because you said this before, like last night you don't want to pay for my bar. " Argh, what is going on here? Had I been a smarter man I would been less upset about her bringing up the issue and would have actually listened to her. To me, she was in a bit of a mood and I kept trying to explain more, but at least I finally saying we needed to talk as we had a huge misunderstanding. While that was all true, she was trying to tell me something and I should have been hearing it. I simply should have said yes, I want to BF you, please go get the check. That is what she wanted to hear I guess, not me continually telling her I didn't want to call it a bar when, in fact, it WAS a bar fine. My trying to be politically correct was not helpful at all! What an idiot I was.
I said I would come by the bar and even take her upstairs for some privacy to talk. Isn't this what women like?! I got no reply. I was confused for if she wanted to go with me, just say yes, and tell me to come by to get her and pay the BF. If she didn't, just say so, or lie about her being busy. Say some dude was Australia would be coming in that afternoon or something. But she would not answer yes or no, so I think my assumption she didn't want to go with me was valid. But still, she was upset for some dumb stuff and I guess I am being stubborn to get her to say yes or no when all that mattered to her, I guess, what that I agreed to pay the bar fine. But this hides a bigger issue of should this relationship continue, or should it die slowly or quickly? If she can't even say yes, then what do we have? She had said she never considered me as a customer, but here she was doing exactly that.
But I go to see her around 1 PM I guess, possibly to bar fine her to go see the Temple or to just sit alone together and talk and try to straighten out this mess – or call it quits. I go into the bar and she is with another girl eating lunch. She is not all smiley and rushing over to hug me. I know I have a rough conversation coming up. I nervously laugh with her friend, saying I am in trouble. I decide I really have nothing to lose, other than maybe another date with her, so I take a the aggressive approach and go after the problems rather than simply say "I am her to bar fine you".
So, I did go over a number of things, telling her I loved her but I knew there were things we had to fight, such as our age difference and distance. I said that maybe there was just too much to overcome but I wanted to try, that I was an optimist. She did scoff at the notion that age was an issue, but on most everything else she was dead silent. She would never say why things changed between us in July or why she was going to let our relationship apparently die. I know that she knows why, but whether she was simply being cold or wanted to avoid hurting me more, I do not know. After a while, seeing apparent boredom in her eyes (or maybe her trying to figure things out herself or wondering about this mess she created), I asked if she wanted me to leave. Silence. Not looking good here. A bit later I asked if I could BF her so we could go out and have some fun. Silence. Somewhere during this time a happy, fit, older friendly Australian came in and went right to her. He said he just got in, then he looked at me, smiled, and said "she is good", then he left. Awkward. For all I know, she had already agreed to BF him today when he arrived and was afraid I would BF her first and she would be stuck with me. He was probably more fun to be with than be, especially today. I mean, he was so full of energy and personality. That is not me, though we were close in age. But what woman would not prefer a happy, energetic guy than someone like me, so calm and rational? (Well, not rational about everything!
I finally asked if we were breaking up. Silence. Well, too many questions answered by silence. I said that silence means no. Silence. Well, maybe a no is really not a no and she just wanted me to flat out ask to BF her or stop running my mouth. IDK. But at this point, I knew I was doomed. Whatever action I would take was really irrelevant. Achieving one more BF is not going to make a difference one way or the other. But I took a deep breath, pursed my lips together and manned up. I said "OK, I guess it is over". She barely reacted. I am thinking is it REALLY over? I mean, she had not agreed that it was, but I need end this thing and get it over with, and her silence and coldness sure made it seem that she was agreeing with me. I t was over. I stood up and she at least hugged me briefly and let me go. The mamasan was behind us at the next table, smiling, and I told her goodbye. Don't think she understood what had happened. She had liked me. I walked out waving to a few of the girls who knew of our once happy relationship and left the bar behind and headed back to the hotel.
Now guys, the conversation was painful for me to recall. I had it all written out but some quick, misplaced keystrokes caused me to lose it all, and it killed me to repeat this, as well as part 2. But these reports are like a diary, so I wanted to be sure to record at least the highlights. But as I recall the details, it all seems like this happened over two days, not one day, though part 1 was in the afternoon and, yes, there is a part 2 from that evening. Sooooooo, in Part 1, we break up. Why would there be a part 2?
Well, let me give a start. I walked back to the hotel. I considered heading east to BF someone to console myself, but I just couldn't do it yet. I rested a bit. It was dinner time but I had no appetite. But around 5 PM I suck it up and head back to Soi 6. I now had the full run of the street, with Secret out of the picture, but as I was still dejected I wanted to be with someone I knew would show a bit of love, and that was Bea at Ruby. The state of my mind showed in that I got totally confused where I was! I entered the street and saw the hot blond girl and went over to her. She looked different in the light and I said I would see her another time. Ok. Then I went to Ruby and asked for Bea. Who, they asked? Then I looked around and realized this isn't Ruby. The interior was totally different! So then I remembered Ruby was before the bar with the hot girl, so how was I here if I already passed the hot girl, and there was not corner bar nearby? I had enough sense to realize I must have looked like a drunken fool. Man, I had walked into Roxy! Haha Sheesh. Maybe I need some food. Nothing since breakfast, but I still had no appetite.
But I found Bea and, briefly, bar fined her and it was a repeat so there is nothing to report. Same old same old.
At about 7 as I head back to the hotel I pull my phone out to check the time and saw I had two messages from Secret! Yikes, she sent them while I was banging Bea. Low, dude, low. She said "You said you understand me, but you never understood me". I will pick up with the second message probably tomorrow.

Probably this is just my lack of knowledge, but recently I went to a Soi 6 bar (in the middle near Ruby bar), and outside seated was a girl that seemed "out of place", she was young and good looking. I decided to enter and mamasan immediatly assigned her to join me, she did it not in a very enthusiastically way, but come to me. She was very shy since the beggining, I offered a lady drink she gladly accepted, she was 20, working there for 7 months. I didn't forced anything but it was obvious she was there just for the lady drink. I am sure it was not a personal rejection, everywhere there are girls in Bars just drinking with clients, naively I thought in Soi 6 that wasn't supposed to happen. Long term customers probably know her, she was minimum a 8-9, I recognize it didn't seem a normal thing for her to be available. Perhaps she will be found one day online or in Go Go bar on WS. In some places (like Atlantis in Angeles city, the Mamasan advises previously this girl is just there for the drinks, but here nothing was said.
Not upset but a little frustrated I ended up my day on a very, very uneventful body massage in Sabai Room (definitly a tourist trap, but it was not lack of advice).

Everything you have said has been conjecture. You have not offered up one piece of information concerning any conversation you had with anyone. It is just all stuff that you apparently assumed.

I do appreciate your comments. They might foretell of something, as the story is not over.You can't save her. No one can. I'm not just referring to Secret. While it does seem like she wants to be "rescued" from the bar scene, she is not putting in the effort to make the relationship work. It should be a two-way street. Girls will make time for you if they truly want you. I'm afraid the sleepless nights and the feelings of helplessness will not fade, and perhaps even amplify, even if the relationship works out in the end.

The basics are easy to learn, just one month (1 hour per day, 5 days per week) would be enough to be able to talk with Secret with a lot less misunderstandings.
As I read your posts it sounds like part of your problems are coming from mutual misunderstandings.
Just try to find a real private teacher (not a random girl or bargirl and preferably not a school with group lessons) since you're still on the ground and on your next trip try to arrange some lessons with her from the beginning of your trip and the quality of your holidays will really improve.

In many ways how Secret acts I see day in day out in many forms, in the P $P it is a game of power and control to test your will if you blink you are dead as noted what the future brings? They don't know the meaning of compromise, apologize when they are wrong, the true meaning of a relationship.
How Secret acts I see daily in my own Daughter-In-Law when given an equal say in the matter the answer is normally " silent or up to you " when it really gets tough they run away from a confrontation their culture, in general, been pamper their whole life never being criticized in school or in life. Their way is to learn by trial by error and sadly many never learn their whole life because seldom is there a person who has the ability or experience in life to teach it to them in Thailand thus the saying " This is Thailand " Physically they are all grown up but mentally emotionally they are children.
Move on is excellent advice.

Many are single mothers and also start working at an early age in order to support their parents back in the province. To me, this is maturity that surpasses that of their Western counterparts. There are some girls that act totally childish around their foreign boyfriends. But this is a different issue because the girl is probably manipulating the guy for money.

I don't know how old you are, but after a certain age, feeling the whole range of emotions associated with falling in love (the early stage variety) is a rare privilege, and that includes the negative ones which make you feel torn at the time.
You should take a step back, keep things in perspective, and know with the rational part of your mind that a relationship with a someone you need to barfine every time to see will never work out. On the other hand, enjoy the emotional part of it as much as you can, as one old wise man said "To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead".
Don't plan a lifetime with her, but relax, tell her you'll barfine her and do it, love her and make her comfortable for all you can and ride the wave as long as there's any enjoyment left in it for you. She's clearly not 100% into you and throwing herself at you without reservations, but she clearly likes you to some extent (even if she likes other punters too). Good thing it's Pattaya where you can pay for it, so do. This will run its course and end, so you need to be ready to move on, but you seem to still have the passion for her, so there's no need to make it end earlier than it has to.
Don't lose out on life by standing up for principles and pride in a city which knows none, but know your limits, don't throw away money. Remember that this is just mongering and make-believe, although both of you are still real people with real emotions. Good luck.
I disagree that the Thai girls are mentally and emotionally children. The test is to put Sponge Bob or Doraemon on the TV and see if they watch it.
