I disagree that the Thai girls are mentally and emotionally children. Many are single mothers and also start working at an early age in order to support their parents back in the province. To me, this is maturity that surpasses that of their Western counterparts. There are some girls that act totally childish around their foreign boyfriends. But this is a different issue because the girl is probably manipulating the guy for money.I do not disagree with this point of view see it live it every day as I noted but proofreading is something you need to do yourself.
My comments aren't about being a single mother as you stated you might want to proof-read yourself. I personally believe and hate to say it because I have a Thai son here but the women are the strength of this nation without them the place would fall apart.
Yes, they support the family but this is a condition somewhat brainwashed from centuries that this is what is expected of them and raising kids it takes a lot of mental strength more than maturity, in my opinion. Being a single mother happens all over the world women doing it in the West women are less because the chances are less they also have to support their parents? Thai women have the mental strength to sell spread their legs to men they dislike or have to stay with because of the monetary benefits. Raising kids in their early teens don't mean the frontal cortex of their brain has developed fully at that age this I believe science is on my side. Their culture their education development and lack of critical thinking is a major reason the production line will continue for many of you.
I understand more than anyone the contribution of the women in this country especially in sacrificing themselves for their children and their families but that doesn't mean one bit they are mature enough to handle criticism, have a conversation to try to fit or compromise to a problem which is one major reason the male kids who contribute to other kids in having kids when it gets tough they take out.

I have seen this immaturity behavior for near two decades upfront personally with my own family watching kids grow up to be adults in my neighborhood and a lot of bargirls.
As I noted my Daughter-in-law came into our lives by accident she is a super smart girl in school, she and my son are finding out easy to have a child my lovely granddaughter is now 16 months they both have taken responsibility and are getting mentally strong and discipline wait up every morning to go to work or school but does that mean they can act maturely and make decision to behave properly in a relationship? They, of course, I'm talking in general rarely if ever are told thus the reason they act the way Secret acts and of course what she is doing is sizing up her customer to see how strong or weak he might be in dispensing future benefits or not one can also think this as being a chess game but her action far exceeds what she is doing with a foreign customer. This immature behavior happens daily even with their Thai to Thai relationship in many forms. They never want to take responsibility nor do they ever want you to go back and mentioned the past we know if you don't except the past and learn from it you will go back and do the same thing again that being said am I being clearer as to what is going on here and sadly it really has nothing to do with being able to have a child by a child if that was the solution to being mature then the West might need to rethink having children at an earlier age?
Trip Report, Saturday, Day 6, August 23, Part 1.
Get ready guys. You would never guess how things proceeded after Part 1.
Ok. This is Saturday night of the day Secret and I seemed to make the obvious official were terminating whatever type of loving relationship we may or may not have had. I was trying to understand what had been happing but for whatever reasons Secret was not answering my questions and it seemed appropriate to simply end it, not really that there was anything to end. Though we may have shared a few special moments that I will fondly remember forever, it was not a relationship based on exactly honesty, and that coming from BOTH sides.
So after trying to experience some extra fake love with Bea, from Part 1, I get the two messages from Secret: "You said you understand me, but you never understood me. " And "I work for what you should know. " Wow, is this an opening to have a real talk with her and maybe let me plead by case where she will listen? The first message seemed to imply that, that she was now ready to talk rather than remain silence. I am not really sure about the second message, but it might mean that I kept, the woman I told I loved, working as a bar girl rather than pay the debt off. I didn't, at the time, understand that, simply finding it confusing, but I replied that I did indeed understand and we were having a huge misunderstanding between us. I asked to see her again so we could finally have a conversation about it. She said to come for her, so I turned around and headed back to her bar. Did I have a chance to recover her? Should I really even attempt to get her back though? If I knew that I could never live in her hometown or face supporting her family for the test of our days, why not just let this end. I have accepted the end, why face putting me, or even her, through pain again if it was bound to fail again? Sigh. What am I doing? Am I playing some kind of game with her. I told that I was by a responded to Part 1. I denied it, but in thinking about it, he may be right. There are numerous games people play that will leave them devastated, to include gambling, sports, etc. Why do it? Because the awards can be high. But here, what was the ultimate goal here? To win her love? But if I did manage to pull this thing out, I end up hurting her when I refuse move to Issan. I don't intend to win games in order hurt others. But, at this point I have lost, and just like losing at chess, I want to recap the game to find out where I went wrong.
So I go back. Much of what happens will be via a translation app, which makes things harder, but I will give it a try! And I am in the mood to try to get to reconsider trying a relationship. I had already told her it might be a longshot, but I want to see what may be possible. When I tell her I am returning she sends a happy emogi. That has to be good news, right? If she didn't want be back why send me the message and now a smiley face I was actually thinking at that point that I can turn this around and hold on for a few more days anyway, and then we will see after that. I get another text that says she is sorry and that she is sorry she disappointed me. I reply that no, I disappointed her and I will do better.
So I enter the bar and she comes to me she doesn't seem quite so cold. But again, I had much of this written out on my computer and my crazy fingers deleted it all. This part was painful to write the first time, and it has taken me a couple of extra days to complete it. I will mostly summarize things. And guys, this will be really bizarre.
This time she was forthcoming and I got some answers. She reviewed that she felt I didn't understand her in that her family was the most important thing. I said I did understand that, but in effect she said I never offered to help her get out of Pattaya. Well, we dudes know the reason for that! How foolish would I have been to turn over 300,000 baht to a woman I had known for a short while, bar girl or not? I said I needed to know she actually loved me first, and that the reason I scheduled this was to spend time with her and learn if we really got along and if a life together was possible. Then she mentioned a foreign man, around 60, who frequently visited Soi 6 and well off financially and was known to help out a few of girls. She said this foreigner took a liking to her, got to know her and he flat out gave her the money as he felt she was not meant to be on Soi 6. He gave her the money with condition: she continue to work in the bar until the end of August, but that she didn't have to BF anyone; then she had to go home but never fall in love; and never return to sex work.
In a post a few weeks back I said that she had quit her job and returned home but would come back when I visited just to see me. Then I posted she was back at work in Pattaya. I thought she came back because she couldn't find work at home. My understanding is that she did quit but the foreigner was displeased and made here come back to finish the month of August for whatever reasons. I guess the dude was not buying sex in the future from her. She said he was happy and funny and he like to call girls and simply talk to them and she was happy with him in that way. She said she enjoyed that more than the sex anyway, and if her family was now debt free, they could get on with life and living without love would be ok.
So, she was upset at me for claiming love for her but I had no expressed that love by giving her the money she needed to pay of the family debt and to go back home. She said I felt sorry for her, but if I really loved her I would have gotten her out of the job she hated doing. I told her this current trip was supposed to help me decide if there really was love between us. If there was, then I would have paid the debts. Instead, this dude beats me to it, and now (so she says guys, so se says) she has to live without love.
I was now able to answer some questions. I asked if this happened in July, which was the time her messages to me died down. Yes, it was. I try to make a case for me but how I can compete with this? She made the deal, the debt is paid and why should she be interested in me now if she can't fall in love again even if she wanted to? I was flabbergasted with her story, and not really sure how much of it I believed, but why would she lie about how she finally found a way to leave Pattaya. I mean, I can believe a dude paid her debts and demanded she exit the sex business, but why make her come back to finish August? And he wanted nothing else out of this, other than to get to call her occasionally?
There was really nothing I could say or do. How true or not her story was, this is what she told me and I had to accept it. What else could I have done, called her a liar? Yeah, that would help things! The option I had was to possibly offer to pay the dude out, to break that contract or whatever, but that is not something I am prepared to do at this stage. She said she did have love for me but after he paid, she knew things had to end with me but she didn't know how to do, and she apologized for failing to do so. I said she knew I was coming over, but she said the guy was offering money to her and though she didn't like the requirement about no more love, she didn't know if I would ever give her anything and she couldn't face working another month in that bar not knowing if I would help. I guess if she had not taken his offer to wait for me, the deal would die. I could not fault her logic.
Another thing to prove I didn't really understand her was that I was taking her to WS. She said she hated WS! Huh? Each time I asked her if she wanted to go there and she said ok. She had even said Stones House was our special place she would never take a client. (I could probably verify that as the band members know me by sight and I could ask, but that would be just wrong of me to do.) But then, of course, it hit me. She never seemed to really have fun in there after the first time or two last April / May. These last two times she would look at her watch and I failed to understand that she wanted to leave. She indicated she thought I liked it which is why she didn't complain, but was sad I didn't know how she actually felt. So, things like this she brought out made her statement correct – I really didn't understand her.
I think the thing here is that she needed money to take care of her family, and she based a man's love for her on his willingness to provide support. She kind of laid that out for me. I could not do that in the time frame that was open to me before it closed. That I said I was waiting until the visit to try to see how she really felt about me first was of no relevance now. She would have loved me if I paid, but I was too late. I think that is the bottom line. I did say I didn't want to buy her love or ever have her think she had to love because we had some sort of contract. But, yeah, strange, right?

She said I was supposed to tell her when I was coming to Pattaya and she could reserve time off work and avoid the BF, but I didn't, which I think perturbed her a bit. Even though I was saying I would be there in x weeks, without a firm commitment she couldn't take a chance, so when the offer came, she took it.

So I tend to think she held on to me for a while out of hope for escapement, with love possibly being in there later.
I am certainly bummed. Man, I am here in Pattaya because of her (well, ok, partially because of her – there are thousands of other ladies to hang with). I had joked to Secret that she had a man who traveled halfway around the work to be with her and she left on a side street! Sigh. I will be ok. The predicted outcome arrived, though a few days sooner than I would have wished. If Secret was the typical BG she would not have told me this stuff and would have worked me to get more money out of me for as long as I was here. She also didn't have to tell me about her deal to leave and tried to work on me to get a second handout, but she didn't. Secret did engage in some deceit, but I can't say it was deliberately planned necessarily.
With Secret over, I will try to enjoy my last few days here, though I will leave Pattaya earlier planned, probably Friday. On the bright side, I have the full soi open to me now and won't have to worry about her finding me out in another bar. I presume she will retire as a bar girl Saturday and I wish her the best. And Mr. E will be coming to town Monday, and we have plans to meet up. He will certainly be able to cheer me up and kick me in the head if necessary!
I have not commented on the weather. It has actually been quite nice. Just a little rain and lots of clouds that have kept the temperatures relatively mild. Only today, with some sun, have I actually sweated while walking around.
But be forewarned, the story is not over yet. Sigh.

Do not fall in love.Clearly yes it is the best option.
Unfortunately easy to say but not always easy to apply.
I was the first to give this advice to anyone who would listen to me: "rule number 1, never fall in love". It did not prevent me from falling in love with a bar girl from Pattaya. Cheers.You could take a thaifriendly site membership and there you could search and get good girls. I had found a few there. The best thing I Like about the Pattaya girls they act pricey the first time. Next time if you call them, they would be ready to spend the night for as little as 750 THB! I had had experienced it with 3 -4 different girls. First time they would be a bit pricey and stick to timings.
If your a good negotiator the streets of walking street and discos there are also good for selection. You do get real good ones there. But need to be quick to find and fix a deal because they are also on the look out. If they find someone eyeing them they would slip off.

This is done right off their smart phone. This was great for me because I can then deduct it all to my personal business as it shows up "stenographer / translation services" on my bank statement. I took a go go bar girl for long time and was able to pay her 6000 baht to stay until 2 pm the next day, all with the scan of my HSBC credit card. I have fraud protection so I wasn't really worried too much about any bad happening. I checked and when she entered in the 6000 baht, my phone alerted me that I had a new charge on the card. Also a receipt was emailed to me when I wrote a signature on her phone. Amazing the technology they have nowadays. The next day, it showed up as a legit travel expense. This is great because it counts as a deduction on taxes for me. I went back to the same bar the next day and found out that only a few girls were able to do this and strangely enough, it was the better looking girls. The bar had nothing to do with this because the girls fee was separate from the barfine rate and drinks tab which was still in cash. So I did some research and recon with a few buddies in Pattaya. All I have to say is freaking GENIUS! And he knows who he is. Wish I would have gotten in on this earlier. It won't be long before even the BR girls are able to swipe.

The one where I share a bed with Secret and her Roommate.
With Secret over, I came home and went to bed near midnight, staying at the hotel to work on these reports. Man, this has been tough to relive it all. I slept badly the previous night and I know it will be bad sleeping again tonight, so I popped a full strength Ambien. I turned the lights off around midnight I guess and a couple of hours later the strangest things started happening! Let me state I am quite familiar with the potential side effects of Ambien. Though I have built up a tolerance from past daily use, I rarely take it anymore and I guess my tolerance declined, as around 3 am I awoke with a start. A room light was one and I phone was lit. Huh? There was a message from Secret, who was on her way to her apartment up north. But I was out of it. A typical Ambien side effect for me was if I was on my cell phone the keypad would start to do all sorts of strange things. Keys would move and arrange themselves in weird ways, and trying to type coherently was quite difficult, with the keys moving and the brain being unable to rationally process things. So I read the message and she asked how I was. I responded in what was a spiel of messages that I am sure overwhelmed her and, thankfully, unable to comprehend. I was going to post some of the things I said to her, but I have embarrassed myself all ready.
She said she was worried about me and set a few other messages, then again later the next morning to make sure I was ok. We sort of made tentative plans for after she got back into town Monday. I said that would be find provided she would have a good attitude. He said she would, so I paid the additional amount. She did have a good attitude. I guess it is true they are not using the upstairs rooms, but for this case they made an exception for me, so I give credit to them for decent customer relations.

I get on the other bike to follow them back to their apartment. I figure Secret will stay in their apartment with the friend and I will go to my hotel alone.
It is raining pretty good and the rain is pelting me as we go to their apartment. I have to help take the friend inside, so I at least get to see the apartment. I said how appreciative I was she kept the cards. We set plans to see Kaan tonight and, and at 12:40 PM she was at the bar and was ready for me to get her. So, I guess she would rather be bored with me making money than bored at the bar hoing for lady drinks.

How about a little perspective. Using any of the Thai banks ATM you might see this breakdown. For example, in the past whenever I use my Charles Schwab Debit Card / Wells Fargo Debit at any of the Thai ATM, I don't see the message or breakdown as noted by Mr. E, technically these cards allow only the " card network " which is basically the going International Market rate which if listed example 30.70 the ATM might give you 30.40.
When I use my Credit Union Master Charge Debit at any of the Thai ATM, I will get this message or breakdown it is a much lower rate technically I was told this rate is called " DCC" whatever they call it it is a much lower rate. AS MR E NOTED DON'T HAVE TO ACCEPT JUST PUSH NO AND IT WILL REVERT TO THE " CARD NETWORK " the transaction will proceed. By pushing NO you basically saving 1000 baht or Not being cheap charlie but that is basically $30.00 USD.
There might be a bit of a catch to the above, recently I had to use my Credit Union Card at a Bangkok ATM since the normal ATM I use exclusively is Aeon, they give the highest rate than any of the Thai ATM and their fee is only 150 baht per transaction limited to only 25 notes (25,000 baht) but only two locations Big see extra on Pattaya Klang and Lotus North off Pattaya Nua. I put my ATM card into the Bangkok Bank ATM this time there wasn't the normal message or breakdown just gave me my baht when I got home I noticed they without asking gave me the DCC much lower rate! Bangkok Bank might have found out customers aren't accepting the message or breakdown so be careful. I now plan ahead and use Aeon only.
As for exchange booths in Pattaya TT exchange booths (Yellow in color with black TT letters) many on Soi Baukhao and Second road by far the best rate. Example, if any of the Thai Bank booth list 30.40 TT is usually. 25 higher if that matters?

I'm planning to go to Pattaya for 2 weeks in March and I'm trying to prepare for that trip, to make the most of it. I'm mid 30's Indian who just visited Pattaya for the sixth time in 14 years. All my stays have been minimum a week long or so but I always rtff before landing here. Here are some tips from my experience:
1. If your game is OK try accosting beautiful women wherever you find them. Streets, malls, eateries, etc (your gut should tell they're WG). Don't lose a chance, don't be shy and don't be too cocky. Get chatting a few lines, get a bit touchy feely (they really don't mind that from a stranger IMHO) and exchange Line IDs. I've had the bestest of luck that way. In their downtime they may want to visit you. Although ST is normally quoted 1000 in bars, many of these girls can come 700-900 for ST if pursued rightly. And am talking about stunners.
2. If possible don't go for girls above 25 (unless you're itching a MILF that day) and in worst case 30. Just ask them to show their IDs playfully as they lie all the time. I feel women above 30 are a hardened lot, and the bodies aren't as elegant anymore. The choice of beautiful 20-something girls is plentiful here. Why settle for less, and reduce your ROI?
3. I personally just do GoGos only once per visit to see what's the latest trend. I think they've a total rip-off. They don't offer the best value for money for a real mongerer. And the girls are snobs there. Other waste of money are the soapies, oilies and overpriced Russian / CIS girls. Savor local while you're here.

From what I see, there are two fractions on this forum, when it comes to money management. First group are people who say: "Just spend the money, you're on holiday" or "If you're planning to negotiate the price with a girl, forget Thailand for now and come back later, once you have enough cash". Second group are people who say: "Your bath is worth more than you may think" or "Don't be a two-legged ATM". It's interesting to read that discussion. I personally tend to agree with the 2nd group, especially now when THB got so strong. Also, I don't mind buying a drink for the lady, but the bar fine doesn't make sense to me. I don't feel like paying for a room, if my apartment is literally 5 minutes away from the bar. That's why apps sound more appealing, but I will try Soi6 as well.

According to uncle Google, an average salary in Thailand is 15.000 baht. If a bar girl works 20 days a month, does just one ST a day, 1000 baht each, that's 20.000 baht a month. More than enough to pay for a place to live, food etc. Ergo: bar girls don't need any support from bar owners, they can have a decent life using just the money they earn.
As for the bars - 99% of bars worldwide make money on food and drinks, so I see no reason why Thai bars would suddenly go bust without bar fines. The way I look at it, bars and WGs can cooperate in a symbiosis. Bars need WGs, as they attract tourists who order drinks / snacks. WGs need bars, as this is the perfect venue to chat, offer services etc.
It all reminds me a bit of airlines, that used to convince people not long ago, that a €150 for a short haul flight is absolutely necessary for many, many reasons. And this was a paradigm which no one argued with until low-cost airlines proved, that it was a lie and it's perfectly possible to run a profitable business charging passengers €50 for the same flights.
As I said in the beginning, I don't know much about how these things work in Thailand, but my gut feeling is, that bar fines don't have any real justification, other than to make a bit more money on tourists.

Tonight I walked into one of my favorite clubs for the last year to start the evening after a large dinner. Nothing seems too unusual except I did notice a number of new girls and minus some of the better-looking ones normally on my visit. After a while, I did notice a number of individual Indians in the club spread out then a large number came in and sat right in front of me even before I was pretty much ready to move on but due to the group many of the waitresses were attending to their drink orders I also noticed one of the managers coming over to greet them and saying you need anything let me know. I waited patiently to get my bill paid when the waiter came up I ask what happen girls # day off / holiday? Told me finished don't like customers.

Its not in Chinese culture to wait your turn, so hence pushing and shoving is the norm. Worst manners in the world possibly. Chinese tour groups definitely to be avoided (Singapore Chinese culture is very different I think). Unfortunately has been seen in Thailand also when people supposed to be queueing for tickets at Mor Chit bus station before Chinese new year, as example, but pushing and shoving to get to counter. I don't know if many were Chinese, mostly Thai I guess.
Even in Germany people do not seem to have learned from childhood to watch where they are going. All to common for someone to step into your walking path and stop dead there, or cut in front. A German crashed into me at Frankfurt airport, and he had absolutely no interest that his sharp edged suitcase had gouged and cut my arm. I was stationary at the time. No thought of others walking at all. Bicycles on the footpath turning corners or coming out of driveways very dangerous. Cyclist abused me as I crossed on a pedestrian crossing for not getting out of his way but pedestrian has right of way. Pedestrian crossings in Thailand do not cause motorists to stop unless you force them. One wonders why they painted the stripes there at all.
So we are continually amazed that different cultures create a very different expected norm of behaviour in different nationalities. I think reasonable behaviour is taught to people by their parents when they are children, so should be automatic without thinking as adults.
Only in some countries, as children, we are taught to watch where we are going. If cut someone off or bumped into someone, our parents would immediately teach us the right thing. "Watch where we are going!" My culture tends to promote having a space between people and not being in their face. Groups of Indians in bars, seem to party almost right in your face high fiving each other with no suitable space maintained. It is probably totally normal for them. However some of us feel uncomfortable having view blocked, or will drink be knocked over, etc. Okay Bar has no spare seats we are used to touching those that sit side by side, but standing guys jumping around in front of me is disturbing. Drunk Farang guys insisting on standing but lacking the balance to avoid crashing into others is also a problem.

Bicycle path is fair enough to ding (ring the bell) for pedestrians loitering. However in many places where there is no bicycle lane, they refuse to ride on the road but try to use the footpath.
Thailand is famous for motorcycles riding on the wrong side off the road in opposite direction to the normal traffic, and guys with push carts blocking the traffic.
As a pedestrian in Thailand, I cross many small Sois where Thais are not game to, fearing the cars turning into the Soi will not give way. I force cars to stop on zebra crossings too, sometimes if they have ability to stop. Otherwise one pedestrian might never cross at all when traffic is busy. Do pedestrians have any official rights at all?

Bar girls don't work for themselves. They work for their families. Parents, grandparents, children, siblings. They need to buy a better house, a motorbike, a sack of rice, gas for cooking, clothes, pork, education supplies, medical needs, cellphones, cable TV, etc all for their Isaan families. Having 20 k baht in their pocket each month does not mean that it is there for their own discretionary spending.
Also, as far as I know bargirls work everyday, not 20 days each month. They don't have 10 days off per month so that they can flit around the mall with all their excess discretionary funds that you might think that they have.

Even in Germany people do not seem to have learned from childhood to watch where they are going. All to common for someone to step into your walking path and stop dead there, or cut in front. A German crashed into me at Frankfurt airport, and he had absolutely no interest that his sharp edged suitcase had gouged and cut my arm. I was stationary at the time. No thought of others walking at all. Bicycles on the footpath turning corners or coming out of driveways very dangerous. Cyclist abused me as I crossed on a pedestrian crossing for not getting out of his way but pedestrian has right of way. Pedestrian crossings in Thailand do not cause motorists to stop unless you force them. One wonders why they painted the stripes there at all.
So we are continually amazed that different cultures create a very different expected norm of behaviour in different nationalities. I think reasonable behaviour is taught to people by their parents when they are children, so should be automatic without thinking as adults.
Only in some countries, as children, we are taught to watch where we are going. If cut someone off or bumped into someone, our parents would immediately teach us the right thing. "Watch where we are going!" My culture tends to promote having a space between people and not being in their face. Groups of Indians in bars, seem to party almost right in your face high fiving each other with no suitable space maintained. It is probably totally normal for them. I'm not Indian, but I fully agree with this. For me, there's no point in spending more money on prostitutes or sideways activities (like bars or lady drinks) than absolutely necessary. Better to keep the base rate as low as possible, and only give extra money if they give exceptional service. Personally, I don't get any ego boost from throwing money around, though I understand some punters might, especially when drinking.
However, it's still important to respect the sex workers as any other person. Part of basic respect is not to bargain too hard if they try to be reasonable. They're selling intimacy, not flip flops, and you don't just walk away with the product after driving a hard bargain.
My approach is to simply offer what I'm willing to pay. No negotiation except maybe agreeing to extra 100 baht, so I don't come across as too much of a hardass. As an aside, saying what you're willing to pay helps to anchor the price at the level you want, not to let her quote a high figure first and then wear her down, which is demeaning, and creates resentment.

A few nights ago I visited Windmill about 11 PM. I sat on a stool next to the bar by the bathtub. At the end of the stage near the tub were three old farangs, with a young East Asian kid sitting to their left (I don't know if he was with them or just happened to be sitting next to them). One of the farang was fingering and tongue kissing a fat, homely, middle-aged woman on the stage. When the East Asian kid went somewhere (presumably the bathroom) the fat woman grabbed his beer mug, pissed in it, and put it back. Then two Indians fought among each other within the Bell bus on the way to Pattaya from Swampy, for the entire journey, for trivial reason like one of them had kept two bags in the overhead bin, hence the fellow passenger did not find enough space to place his bag.
At the Hotel, an Indian family was screaming at the restaurant manager, because he supposedly did not allow them to fill their plates to the brim, and carry the complimentary breakfast to their hotel room upstairs.
While returning to the Hotel from nearby 7/11 store, overheard a fruit cart vendor abusing an Indian. Being a fellow Indian, I tried to ask him if all was OK, to which the fruit vendor replied that the Indian guy took fruit worth 20 Baht, but walked away after handing 18 Baht of change to the vendor. By the time he counted the money, the Indian had crossed the road, but was caught by moto taxi guys after the fruit vendor started shouting at him.
Another instance was which one of the FL's told me that, the previous night, a group of 3 Indian guys approached her outside Kaama club. They asked her rates for ST, to which she replied with 1000 baht. They agreed to pay her 3000 Baht, but their condition was that all three would bang her together, to which she freaked out & gave them a mouthful before going her way. The Indian guys did not haggle with her for the rates, & at 3000 baht, all 3 could've got 3 different FL's for a ST each, but being used to travel in groups, they opted to fuck in groups as well. There are many other instances where I was embarrassed by the behaviour of my fellow countrymen.
I know there is a lot of generalization here about Indians, but I also concede that it's the Indians themselves who are responsible for their poor image, to a large extent. But the good part is, almost all the FL's I've met, apart from the initial reluctance to deal with an Indian due to pre-conceived notions, did not judge me by how Indians are perceived in general, but rather how I behaved as an individual. Almost every FL I banged, keeps in touch with me, in spite knowing I won't be back before next June.

Disagree with you that its a useless platform. In-fact all over my previous trips I've always manage to either pull working girls or let say normal ones who search for a date very easily. IMHO this site can work wonders for males staying in Thailand for long term as they can spend considerable relaxing time hunting profiles on a daily basis but normally I'm on short trip holidays so I find it easier to hunt strait in the bars, gogos, massage parlours, soi6 and never-ending opportunities to get deal done within minutes rather than chatting in my room via phone.

I have been back from Pattaya for several weeks and figured I should provide an update of the Secret situation. I generally try to avoid reporting on personal matters in other than general terms, and I fear much of my previous reporting crossed the lines for a mongering board and became too personal. Certainly, the conclusion of the Secret story is purely personal, but there is a story to tell that some of you have found interesting and perhaps even educational. So, after many attempts to write this, here goes.
I won't give a timeline of events, but I remind that it appeared Secret and I were over and done on the last Saturday I was there. Then I had quite the experience with her and her roommate on Sunday, where the friend encouraged me to continue with Secret AND I scored points by taking care of the roomy when she got plastered. But despite Secret and I having some great dates over the following days, I saw no indication that she was drawing any closer to me or that I was going to be able to overcome her "contract" with that foreign guy, so in a moment of rare sanity, I rearranged my plans to leave Pattaya on the next Friday to stop the pain from continuing.
On Tuesday night I told Secret I was leaving on Friday. She expressed little emotion with me about it. The final Wednesday I went to the bar to meet with her. I had previously received a message from her saying "I guess I should be honest with you. " Huh? I went to the bar that afternoon to see her. When I arrived she didn't want to speak about it, but then her roomy came over and after some small talk I pressed the issue. What the heck did she mean?
Fortunately her friend speaks good English and was supportive of me. (My taking care of her impressed her, as well as Secret, but Secret was confused with me and really didn't understand what all I was doing or why.) But while I could not get much out of Secret, the friend intervened to get much of it out there! Wow. She explained that part of the problems of someone like me winning over a girl like Secret is that I did not visit often enough and I had not given any money. OK, we dudes in the west know that bar girls will often work us for money, and her friend acknowledged how some of the girls did abuse men financially, but she also mentioned that many of men equally abuse the women by making promises and then never coming through with them. Many of them had been duped by foreigners and they were rightfully worried about a man pledging love and them dumping them as soon as they left town. And here I was, making promises and saying all of these things, but what had I actually done for her to make her decide to make some kind of commitment to me? Besides some love notes and flowers, I had literally done nothing. I claimed to have love and money yet I let her continue to work as a bar girl. So, of course, she had to turn away from me to ensure the dude didn't cut her off as she had no real reason to believe that I would come in and pick up the slack. She discussed this in a calm, educational manner to help me understand what drives some of the Isan women, not to try to force me to start shelling out cash. I found it fascinating, actually. Again, she wanted me to be with Secret, and she was telling me the way forward if I was willing.
There was much more, but here I had it, the key to winning over Secret. And I had two days. Should I even bother? And was Secret even willing to try after everything we had just gone through?
Later, Secret told me the dude had just seen her and while he was happy for her to be leaving Pattaya, he would probably never see her again. That strange contract she had, if true, was terminated! I was not sure how to take it. She thereafter was not any more affectionate. Maybe she wanted me to know that barrier had been removed, and that it was now up to me to determine the course of our relationship. She would not encourage me or lead me on – it would be up to me.
But Wednesday night, she knew I was leaving on Friday. She had friends coming in town Thursday night and she was going to leave with them for a few days starting Friday morning, so we would both be leaving town at about the same time. She would be back the next Monday for her last week of work, but I would not be there. (I might have delayed leaving if she was staying in town, but if she was not going to be there, I simply had to go, having no desire to remain in Pattaya without her.) I was hopeful that after the intervention she would open up to me, but in bed she still did not show signs of real affection. I was able finish with great effort, frustrated that she was like a star fish, so I figured that despite the day's talk and revelations, it was still over. I needed to face facts and get away and stop acting like an old fool.
But she and I talked (as best we could) and, after discussing her business plans with her sister, I did it. I was well below my budget so I handed her a stash of cash. And she was absolutely stunned. I may have had a tear or two. You all may criticize me, but I did it. What her friend said had moved me, and though it was too late to contribute towards her leaving the life of a bar girl behind, I told her to use the money to fund her business, so the net result was the same. Again, she remained fairly reserved. She didn't jump up and down or rush to hug me and display lots of emotion. As I said, she just seemed stunned. I did sort of apologize for my role, but she shook her head and said I was one of the good things about Pattaya. The truth? I don't know, but she is with me now, no bar fine and no assurance at all that I will ever see her again or give her money again, so I don't know.
We went back to the hotel, both of us now depressed. So much of this is so personal that I will skip most all of the rest of our time together. The next morning was rough, as I still received no confirmation that her feelings had changed, and I had no valid reason to think we would ever be together again. I mean, no way was I likely to venture out into the far depths of Isan to see her. She was up early and there were tears and embraces from both. I think I then accepted she did have true feelings for me and when she said we would see each other again, I asked her if she would go to Phuket with me in November. She said that of course she would. We walked outside, we had a final embrace suitable for Thailand, then she left me with the smell of her perfume lingering on my skin. Was this the end?
That was three weeks ago. What is up with Secret now? She did indeed leave Pattaya and is living with her sister north of Bangkok, working at a mall in a clothing store. (She was going to Isan but flooding out there closed roads so she decided to go on and move in with the sister and remain in civilization, I suppose, with higher wages.) And we are planning to go on a cruise from Singapore next April. She has been a bit reserved and has not reverted to using the L word, as she did back in May and June, but that shows she is not trying to use me and is kind of waiting to see what I actually do. She did say that she would go with me wherever and whenever. But while she won't use the L word, I have, and yesterday she said she liked me doing so. If I am going to buy premium membership I do for 1 month and as we go for usually 8 days I activate it so it expires on the day I return home. This is the first time I have heard of anyone being quoted more then 5000 TBH and that is usually a polite way of saying "I do not like you!" I think you are developing a slight distortion here. True some girls get lazy in home province, others have to work hard and help with rice planting etc. Both situations exist. I have nothing against descriptions of days gone by. Various ISG members have posted many excellent historical perspectives and descriptive reports that deserve to be read by interested persons, but these posts tend to clog up the current threads which should be about what is happening on the ground NOW. Thus there should be a separate thread for new posts of an historical nature concerning bar scenes, massage parlors, nightclubs, street pick ups, Thermae (LOL), girls, prices, and all other reminiscences older than say 13 months because the posts focused on the past are not topical. So, I feel that the Pattaya or BKK reports threads, for example, should contain current Pattaya and BKK reports not what Pattaya or BKK was like 5, 10, or 25 years ago and editorials about how much better it was back when. Of course it was better in the 70's. A lot better, but that is not news although it may be interesting to read and talk about. And the same same goes for the Phuket reports, Massage reports sections ect ect.
So, my suggestion is that all new posts in these topical threads should ALL be on current information going back no further than 13 months. The historical minded posts and descriptions should be posted in their own "Thailand Years Gone by Thread." Of course this is only my opinion. but I think this suggestion would clean up the threads and make it easier for members to find the relevant information that they seek. A win win for everybody.

Interesting times in Pattaya. First the currency is fluctuating a lot. In one day, lost $13 dollars withdrawing 20,000 baht. Secondly, the owner of the hotel I am currently residing at stated he has never seen Pattaya this slow in 40 years.
For newbies my suggestion is to find a hotel close to soi 6 vs Walking Street. Soi 6 is compelling value -- around 1300 baht for short term, huge selection of chicas and 100 pm. Treat walking street as a tourist attraction. The much higher priced ones are not that much better looking vs. Soi 6.

Goats, Palace's line up can be unspiring on the rare off nights or if you go too late/early. Many Models don't start showing up until near 9 pm and usually anyone worthwhile is barfined before midnight.

13th is a Religious Holiday to mark the end of Buddhist lent (Wan Ok Phansa) and also a Public Holiday for the anniversary of the passing of the previous King. It is a dry (no alcohol sales) day from midnight to midnight according to law, but adherence and enforcement are frequently hit or miss in this country. Bar areas covered by different police stations will operate differently, and how two bars in the same Soi act may depend on their "relationship" with the local Law Enforcement. The only advice is to "suck it and see" - open fronted bars may stay shut or only (appear to) be selling soft drinks. Bars with tinted windows may or may not risk it.
Even asking the day before can be unreliable. You may well get the answer they think you want rather than the facts, the girl may say closed when she means it is her day off, she may inaccurately say closed because she never wants to see you again (never happened to me, of course!) or she may inaccurately say open because she has fallen in love with you or your wallet.
Monday 14-October is a Public Holiday so banks and government offices will be closed but bars will be back to normal (or what passes for normal around here). It is essentially a day in lieu for the anniversary falling at the weekend.
23-October is Chulalongkorn day and marks the passing of the 5th King of the Chakri dynasty (Rama V). Again this is Public (or National, depending on how your native country describes such things) Holiday. Bars, restaurants, etc should be unaffected, banks and government offices will be closed. But keep an eye on the news. Every now and then a curve ball happens.

After spending all of last year in Frankfurt in the RLDs and FKK clubs, I finally needed to get out and remind myself that the rest of the world is still there. Easily arranged a direct flight to Suvarnabhumi with Lufthansa (10.5 hours for 570 euro), 130 baht bus ticket and I was back in Pattaya for my 3rd trip.
In short Pattaya is still great but significantly diminished compared to my last visit in 2017.
The nightlife and easy mongering is unbeatable here. However clearly it has become quieter as there are less people here compared to my trip two years ago. (It's low season and raining often) It's clear why: strong baht and slightly increasing prices in baht. At the time of writing: 33.5 baht to the euro.
The majority of the farang I met in bars on many a day seemed to be expats rather than tourists. That isn't to say they're not around, but they seemed to mostly be the type that come 3 times a year anyway.
Bars on walking street overwhelmingly Asians to the point that some seemed to cater to them exclusively. Except on certain busy weekend nights. Usual mainstake gogos still there Peppermint, Baccara, Wildcats, Windmill, Happy, Living Dolls.
Pinup is there which I am note sure whether it is new, which has lineups of 40 girls dancing at any given time. Needless to say, I never barfine at gogos anyway.
Soy Phukao gogos were very good (except Ninja a gogo).
I spent most of my time in the LK Metro / Soy Phukao area and Night Bazaar, often going around in a perfect circle to visit everywhere.
Prices:
Prices have gone up generally. Examples to put things into perspective: barfine girl from beer bar back in 2017 for 1500, I come back to the exact same bar and same girl and she won't go below 2000. (However, 1500 girls are still around just the average price seems to have risen).
Another bar on soi 7, girl I was speaking to has the gall to ask for 3000. And the worst shock of all: Insomnia / I-bar where the girls all one night seemed to demand 3000.
No wonder that Pattaya on the whole seems much quieter.
With the notable exceptions, gogos on walking street seem to open and close frequently. However unlike my last trip, there did not seem to be a shortage of acceptable girls in the bars.

LDs: 120-130 baht.
Barfines: 300-500.
Girl: 1500-2000 LT.
Gogos on walking street:
LDs: 175-200 baht.
Barfines: 1000-1500 baht.

LDs: 160-175.
Barfines: 800-1500.

Gentlemen's Clubs (similar prices on soy 6):

Short time: 1000-1300 + 300 BF= 1300-1600.
What I did differently this time:
-gentlemen clubs: good but not my thing. Soy bonkoot has a number. My preferred one was Babylon. The advantage of these clubs is that they open early, are air conditioned, can be quite entertaining, offer daytime short time action. But given that I have the FKKs at home, apart from the much better service level from the girls, nothing that special to me. No entry fee.
I only just found Tahitian Queen on beach road (open since 1978), which is also open during the daytime. Probably more a bar than a gentleman's club but pretty close.
-tinder / thaifriendly / other apps: this really seems to be the future here. Plenty of girls on there looking for customers, little hassle, you can order out from the comfort of your hotel room, no running around bars with lady drinks and barfines. I would add that you have absolute stunners on there. Many people coming here used them without any issues that I spoke to during my trip. Definitely cost-effective.

-Tata on tinder late 20's: after an unsuccessful all-nighter, got her to join me from 10 am to 5 pm same day, came to my hotel, good service, 1500 baht.

-Girl from Babylon: Short Time 1300 together + lady drink, really good service, stayed with me until I left the club.
-Girl from bar at Night bazaar: skinny, short cheeky girl, good at pool 1500 + 400 BF.
-Girl from bar in small beer garden on soi 10 : Great, tall and slightly larger build 1500 + 300 BF.
-Girl from bar in back part of Night bazaar: short and dark and not great, left earlier than agreed 1500 +300 BF.
-Pisticha: Freelancer on tinder for 2000 baht last night. After 3 weeks in Pattaya I was slightly destroyed for my last night. Had spoken to her on tinder over those weeks, she met finally me at my hotel and boy was she absolutely gorgeous, tall, slim, pretty, just as in her photos. Unsuccessful first round at night, banged her in the early morning once the beer and fatigue had cleared.
My recommendation: tinder and apps are now solid alternatives to the beer bars and discos in Pattaya. Used them twice and rate of success was about equal. Expect to pay 1500-3000 for LT which is competitive imo with LT at a beer bar, including barfine and first lady drink.
My general personal notes :
3 weeks in Pattaya may not be too much for other people, but it was for me. 2 weeks is well enough.
More Indians and Chinese in Pattaya for sure, but honestly, I never had any trouble with them and they definitely are no competition at the venues I went to. Indians seemed to avoid peer bars largely, are not let into the gogo bars (heard stories of some gogos demanding 1000 baht cover charge for entry), and stick with either street walkers or the soapies. (Every soapie I popped into was filled with Indians).
Lady drinks in gogos are a ripoff and never worth it. Slurp slurp, gone, forgotten, next victim.
Candyshop syndrome is difficult to avoid if you are like me, picky about the girl and you only do long time. A lot of the girl are just passive and aloof and making a connection is difficult if you're not always approaching yourself. (usually they do open up once you make the step and buy a lady drink). I only do slim girls, not too old with at least a minimum of good attitude. However I admit that that could make me miss out on great service sometimes and in the bars, I just risked hopping and getting more and more drunk and going home alone or to Insomnia at 4 am.
Short time with the price changes, is less worth it if you live in Germany. Yes, it's longer here but I for the 20 euro difference, I won't bother in future unless I'm really strapped for time.

Some places will open off the grid, look for people drinking from coffee cups or plastic cups. The massage places Should be open. It's a Dry day, you can't buy liquor. At the 7-11's & family mart's too.

Believe or not, I know about the Chinese even when I visited China in the late 80's 90's but I never really noticed or pay any attention maybe because I did pushing on my own. Although I'm Chinese made in the USA brand I come from the largest Chinese community so pushing was part of growing up in Chinatown I never complain if they were older that is how I was taught good or bad.
