The reason for the confusion here, Mr. Enternational, is that she was misrepresenting the situation to you. Everyone most certainly does not know that 500 is the price for short time because just a year or two ago it was 300, and it is still 300 in many, many occurrences.

I'm getting out of Pattaya one hour from now so at 10:45 I went to get my final massage. I was leaving from there to pick up a honey off Beach Rd for the 500 baht regular. Then she dropped to 400. Remembering what Opebo said I decided to try for the 300. And it worked. I just knocked her off and my wingman inquired and she gave him the same deal. So she is in his room right now.
I don't know what the stigma about Beach Rd is but I have never seen or had trouble there, all the girls I have had give good service, and frankly it's some of the best pussy I have had here in Pattaya hands down. Went to the massage parlour in the Diamond Hotel on Walking Street. The women were absolutely hideous. All looked like they were trapped in McDonalds for about two months, i.e, large, jumbo, and extra jumbo. So bad as to not even have any comic value.

Just stayed there last week for the 2nd time. No safe in room. A private box available at the front desk (open 7 am -8pm).
Great swimming pool with enough chairs and parasols. Good choice on free breakfast. Rooms clean

Don't know about all bars or if it is a rule but most of the girls are indeed shaved. It's a rarity to find a real muff these day. As for condom use, scroll back a few pages and you will discover that rules are made to be broken as that one most often is.
Like the attitude of the gals there more so than on the big clubs on Walking Street.I find Oasis is consistently one of the best little go-gos in town. Pattaya shows the value of this board and why I stay a paying member. Simply put, Pattaya is so large as to be unmanagable. That is why over the past month I have been combing this board for informaion. I believe the most important information for Pattaya comes in the form of the name of the club, and the name and experience with the gal.
Case in point, after walking all over this City yesterday I wound up at Chili's on Soi 6. Looked up a girl named Lek that a fellow monger on this board recommended. Turned out that although she was not a spring chicken (claimed to be 34), I decided to give her a try. There could be, but you should be careful. I think naming good service by bar name isn't bad. However, if you start naming great gals and where she works, she might start getting so much traffic that she has no time for you. Or worse, some big fish might start supporting her and take her totally out of the scene. If you're going to talk about a girl, make sure you do it *after* you leave and only if you are not going to be back for some time.

your internet connection speed is too slow. stop the sound and let it download without watching it. it might take several minutes. when it's done hit the play button and you will see it all with no interruptions. don't forget to turn the sound on.
i saw an add in bkk for 10mbs at 1.500 baht/month. don't know if it applies to pattaya yet. back home i am getting up to 24mb

I stayed there exactly 3 years ago and it was outstanding. Hard to believe it has gone downhill. I had an oceanfront room with a large balcony. Beautifully appointed and great staff. Used the elevator adjacent to the mall to bring in my ladies. While there was usually staff there, it was never a problem. If it weren't for the economy and my bad investments, I'd certainly stay there again.

it seems if you use your atm card at wu, bringing passport id with you, you get the best forex deal there is. rates are as they are back home plus aout 50 baht to wu. speaking of wu....
there is a german film crew in town doing a documentary on a kraut who lived here for 30 years, running an upscale restaurant in soi boucauw and who probably got the wu bug. he went back to the fatherland for a few days and while back there, his girl friend sold the restaurant and fucked off with some english loser. now the kraut lives rough on the beach.

I just returned and found I liked the low season--there's fewer girls than there was in November, but far, far fewer falang, so more to choose from on the whole. Anyone been there Xmas/NY Eve?

Im leaving Pattaya after five days here. Had a great time - last time, but now Im kind of disapointed. Every night I have to search through tons of ugly old navybase-hookers. How to download video and kept in PC?With Safari on a Mac, while you are watching the YouTube video, go to the Window Menu and choose Activity. This will open a window showing all the different files being (or already) downloaded for each browser window you have open along with the file size. Find the part corresponding to your YouTube window. The video file will be in the MB size range while everything else is probably KB. Hold down the Option button and double click on the file name. It will then be downloaded. You can close the YouTube window at this point and the download will continue. It will probably be a Flash Video (,flv). I play them back with software called VLC.
There are probably similar methods and software for PCs.

Yep, the monger makeup in Pattaya is much different than in the past. The frugal retirees on pensions have been pushed out and the new breed of fools are here raising the bar. They have condos, cars, and money to dump in the malls. Also, TAT has been trying to bring in a richer class of people who don't know real pricing. Because of this, the girls have become very spoiled.
If you're smart and you think with your head you can still get away with paying below market price, especially now in low season. It is, however, a lot more work then before to get bargain prices. It can be had, but more effort and negotiating is required. Don't give up, and stick to your guns!

AYUTTHAYA BANK CHARGES MORE THAN THE OTHERS AND YOU PAY FOR THE "SERVICE" IN THE INFLATED RATE EVEN IF THERE IS NO "ATM FEE".
Like I said before - take your card and go into the bank during normal working hours and avoid the withdrawal fee entirely It's YOUR money and you can waste it if you so desire. It makes no difference to ME whatsoever.
The alternative is to make withdrawals of the maximum amount possible (20,000B is the max I've seen allowed) and minimize the effect of the fee.

For me the Red Point Bar is the best bar in soi6.Agreed, maybe consistently the best bar on the street over the past five or six years. as with almost everything in thailand, this is all about money. these guys had already been closed down one time, you would of thought they learned there lesson. but, i guess they didn't and had to prove it to themselves one more time.

Few initial observations on Pattaya, a former regular haunt. Returning after over a year away, they may be old hat to residents but are novel to me.
Theres a snazzy new mall opened right next to Soi 8 where I’m staying - like to be at the centre of the action. It is chock full of expensive shops (recession, what recession?) and has a splendid food court where I will no doubt be doing a lot of my scranning on this trip.
Taking a mid-evening stroll along the Beach Road, I was amazed at the sheer number of freelancers around. What crackdown? Far more than I recall from previous visits. Mostly skegs and skanks, there were also quite a few nice looking chicks as well, certainly on par or better than would be found in your average bar beer. Returning the same way a couple of hours later the lookers had mostly gone, probably snatched up LT by earlybirds. Maybe if you want a nice looking Beach Road FL, you have to get there early?
Lots more Indians around – Pattaya seems to have become very popular with sex starved sub-continentals. As I get in at 4pm, I may not make it over to the Bus Terminal in time to catch the 5pm departure to Pattaya. But a 5:15 departure from the airport would be perfect.

Is this correct?

It's correct. Bell Travel leaves every even hour while the other bus every odd +15 min. The ticket boot is just next to Bell at exit 8. I used it when I missed my Bell bus last time. I don't know when the first and last departure of the day is.

Just google "Pattaya Taxi", and you'll see all of the operators that have web sites. I've used VR www.pattaya-taxi.com many times, and they're prompt, reliable, and inexpensive.

I just got back from Pattaya the last bus from the airport is 9pm and the last bus from ekkamai is 10.30 pm so taxi is your only options.

Patts is a small town so it is not hard to just explore. Find what you like a go with the flow. All the bars and go go clubs are the same so don't waste time trying to find a better price

DAThat will be Songkran. It is a very big holiday in Thailand when everybody parties, so suddenly demand exceeds supply and prices go up. Halloween is not such a big deal - it's obviously an imported festival so probably won't have any noticeable effect on prices. It will be party time in Pattaya so may be busier and more fun.

The most popular festivals in early of the month November, is the Loy Krathong Festival. This festival is very welknown to Thai people and also foreigners. And it set during the weather is clear, on the full moon night, when the river is high over the country. There has an important meaning about "Loy Krathong", first, "Loy" means "to float" and "Krathong" means a lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. The Krathong usually contains a candle, tree joss-sticks, some flowers and coins.
In the past, people believe that they offer thank to the Goddess of water. Thus, by moonlight, people light the candles and joss-sticks, make a wish and launch their Krathong on canals, rivers or even small ponds. It is believed that the Krathongs can carry away sins and bad luck, and the time to start the coming new year, tobe joyful, and happy as suffering are floated away.

But we call "The Noppamas Queen Contest" instead. Noppamas is a legendary figure from Sukhothai period in the past. She may be the first person who invented and decorated Krathong in Thailand used for floating in the reiver on this occation. So, when the time come, in Bangkok, major places as hotels, amusement parks organise their Loy Krathong Festival and Krathong contest and also Queen Noppamas contest as major function. Fortunately, foreigners who stay in Thailand during this festival, can join the party and share happiness too.

So what you're saying is that the gov't bus actually leaves originally from the airport bus terminal, then it proceeds to the airport terminal, where it stops to pick up more customers?
And speaking of which, does the gov't bus to Pattaya that leaves from the airport terminal, departs/stops on Level 1 or Level 2?
My understanding is that it stops on Level 1, that is the "bus lobby" where busses stop and depart. But I've also read from other sites that the gov't bus to Pattaya leaves on Level 2.
Can anyone confirm on which Level exactly that the Pattaya-bound gov't bus leaves?
It's just that I'll be quite pressed for time, as my flight arrives at 4pm. I know I definitely don't have the time to take the free shuttle over to the airport bus terminal. I am hoping that I would be able to make the 5pm or 5:15pm departure of the gov't bus directly from the airport terminal. As well, don't want to be running from level to level looking for the right bus stop.

Well, so I have finally visited Pattaya. Great expectations about it. Maybe too great. In fact I did not like it so much. But let us start from the beginning.
I was in Soi 6, at the Queen Victoria Inn. The room for 800 Baht was great and everything very nice, cheap breakfast included. A small part of England in a tropical area and the boss was very nice and helpful.
In Soi 6 there are 10, maybe 15 bars. Very few people around so the girls were very aggressive, which I do not like. Plenty of ladyboys which I like even less. Inside the bars there is absolutely nothing and the girls insist for short time in the bar. I never got it because I guessed that it was not so clean and because I considered quite stupid to go there when my hotel room was so close. I noticed very very few girls worth of attention. To be honest I saw some people who were living in my hotel with gorgeous girls but I never saw them in the bars around or in Beach Road or in the nearby area. So I have no idea where those lucky guys had found them. And I also saw some gentlemen with nice girls walking around in day time but, again, I have never seen girls of that level in my search. And, IMO, the 95% of the girls in the area were not pretty at all.
So, the first evening I had a walk in Beach Road and, at about where there is Al Capone Pizza or something like that, I found few girls offering massage, 300 full body. And the mamasan offered me the prettiest of all. So we went inside and she gave me a rather ordinary massage. At the end of it, no words, no nude, no groping, nothing, she just made me popping. I asked her about meeting later in my hotel but she asked for 2000 Bath which I considered too much. When I went to pay the lady asked me for 800. And I asked why, since the first request was for 300. And she told me about the happy ending. But I replied that I did not ask for it, nor the girl offered it or told me about extra money for it, she just did it. So we agreed on 500.
In the night I had a walk in Beach Road and I found not more than 6/8 ladies, all of them quite old and not pretty.
The following day I walked in Second Road. At the end of it I entered in Sabailee and Sabailand and another soapy whose name I do not remember. All of them very very close. Price was 1700 in two of them and 1600 in Sabailand. So In went in sabailand. Just few seconds sitting and watching the fish bowl and I saw a stunning beauty smiling at me. So, since the most beautiful also looked like the one most willing to come with me, I chose her. Her name is Paa, from Chang Mai, 32, with a son. Well, absolutely beautiful, sexy, nice, good English and very professional. To be picky the only, small, negative point is that she is too professional. I mean a bit cold even if she is great under any point of view. Another negative point is that she performed all covered and did not allow any anal fingering: "Go to a ladyboy if you like that", she said. But it was a very very nice 90 minutes fun.
The following day I got a girl from Halifax, if I remember well, anyway the last bar on the right before Beach Road. Absolute ordinary service. All covered, 300 for the bar and 700 for her, short time. Fifty minutes later she was already leaving me. Never found girls willing for LT, all of them insisted for ST.
I always had a walk along Beach Road in the night, where I found very few and not nice girls, and Second Street, where I had a look in the bars. Sometimes something decent but they asked for 2000. And I do not understand why I should pay 2000 or more with bar fine to have an ordinary FS, when for 1600 or 1700 I can have a 90 minutes soapy massage with FS included.
The (normal) massage center in Soi 6 and Beach Road is very nice, clean, good girls and 200/400 according to feet of oil massage.
So, IMHO, Angeles is by far much much better. For the prices, the quantity and the quality and the attitude of the girls. The only good point in Pattaya is that there is the seaside.
The only good point of this experience is that, when I saw what was the offer, I went to an internet point and tried to find a girl in a dating site, Single Thai or something like that. I chatted with few of them. And I found a girl of 26, who works as a condo saleswoman. Very very pretty and funny and cheerful. The first evening at dinner she asked me about my plans and I told he I was going to Chang Mai in few days. She replied she had never been there. So I invited her to go there with me. And she agreed, of course. So she asked for holidays and two days later we went to Chan Mai and visited the North and Doi Suthep and Lampang and Ayuttaya. She was a very nice partner. We had also good sex in the night. Nothing special but good. At the end of it, in BKK (I stayed there 4 days and I will write a report), she left and I gave her 2000 for 5 days together.
This was a good part, but Pattaya itself was really disappointing.

The great hole in the wall for Thai food is on Soi Buakhao......just up from the intersection with Soi LK Metro....on the right side if you are facing north.....little joint with ladys cooking at the open front and a tile interior with home cooking and good price......

Best Thai food in Pattaya is 1) at the corner of Soi Bukao and Pattaya Klang from 1:00 am to 5:00 am, and oddly enough the second best is at roughly that same location, just a few meters further from Bukao, during regular dinner hours. Different people set up at different times though (kind of curry on the street type places). A large, delicious repast will cost you only 50-80 baht. (Please, brothers, do not bother decent Thai restauranteurs or their clientele if you are drunk, loud, or cannot speak Thai sufficient to order. If you are any of those things, go to Kiss Restaurant and get bad food - they're used to dealing with that crowd.).
Good German food generally: 1) Domicil, 2) the Beirstubie or Beirstuble near the beach end of Soi 7, on the left side as you walk towards the beach. The one with the large German owner with big sideburns and bald head. Both will run in the 200-300 baht range.
Good cheap French food: The little place on Soi Yamoto just down from the beach on the left as you walk away from the beach. Opposite the big fancy brew pub monstrosity there. Can't remember the name but they have nice set menus for 200-300 baht.

Since my previous trip to Pattaya two months earlier, I had kept in touch with three ladies (two freelancers and one bargirl) by occasional phone calls. I fear you are right....although Pattaya is still the biggest sex market in the world, it has undoubtedly been in a rapid decline over the last five years or so. The worst aspect has been the increase in long term sponsorship of these girls. A night cruising the bars can be a numbing experience these days.

It was the same way back in March when they had the Pattaya Music Festival. The whole street was blocked off and you could only walk down it from Central Pattaya Klang to South Pattaya Tai.
