I thought Halloween would be a little more festive in Patts, but it turned out to be a bit of a pain in the ass. Beach Rd has plenty of girls, but man you really had deal with all the stupid stalls.
In summary I give me trip a C+. I met my girlfriend there first night. She was very cool and did not go to work (Living Dolls 1), so I did not have to buy a bunch of drinks and pay BF. I am planning my next trip to the LOS next year, and just wondered if the cost of mongering is increasing there.

Yes, Bamboo. It is right there before everyones' eyes, but nobody notices. I went there for the first time last month after walking by it a hundred times. The next night I was in Pattaya Beer Garden and several of the freelancers said I saw you in Bamboo. Ah, so this is where they all go when they leave here and the street. i was just back in pattay in october, after 3 years since last time.
for me the things was about just as before, some new buildings of course and most of the girls too.

normad2020There are several gels that desensitize you, they are all Benzocaine based so you have to be careful or you will end up with Benzocaine poisoning. Trojan also makes some condoms that come with the Gel already on the inside. These are better as they don't desensitize the girl as well. The drawback is that they reduce the feeling, quite substantially; you may even have trouble staying hard when using these gels. IMHO try Viagra of Cialis, they work much better. (1) Just look for a Pharmacy and you'll be able to buy it. I bought mine in bkk, and they cost 80 bath a piece
(2) I dont really know if there are any other brands then Kamagra... for the gel.. about tablets there are a few more brands, for example Viagra and Cialis

Literally every pharmacy for 100 baht if you buy one. In Soi Buakaow I've gotten 80 baht when I buy several at once, have to ask though. In Soi 11 in Bangkok, I think it's the 1st pharmacy on the right, 60 baht.

WAY OFF TOPIC of this thread so I apologize.... but.... having an interest in a pharmacy, I'll tell you that buying pills in India compared to landed costs are huge. The taxation and laws regarding generic medicines are a nightmare in some countries, again lobbyists in various countries by the medical industries set these up. The theory is that the profits are funneled into future medical break through and advancement in medicinal practices. If that's the case or not you could debate it forever.
The second issue is that there is reputable generic and then there is generic generic in India. You do NOT want the generic generic versions as they are almost identical copies / fakes of the generics in terms of packaging and looks but in reality their chemical content is so obscure it is scary.
To make most mongers feel better, most Pharmacies I've gone into in Thai are using reputable firms and Thai has a very large Pharmaceutical industry itself. Surprisingly many medicines made in Thai are cheaper then the ones made in Philippines and some are getting close (in price and quality) to the reputable Indian companies in my opinion and we are now using some Thai Pharmaceuticals.
The mark up appears to be high (80% how did you figure that one??? 400% mark up if selling at 80 baht right?) I agree, but there were also some major crack down on illegally imported generics recently in Thai.
Just ask your bell man where the local "Guava" go to buy pills. But people are spending how much on airfare and then on hotels and then on girls, they should not worry about a few days of jelly.
6 days x 60 baht (supposedly the mark up without taxation / shipping / bribes etc... 80 baht - 20 baht price) x 2 time a day = 720 baht
The folks who monger in Thailand are lucky for these costs IMHO and Pattaya is cheaper then in BKK usually for pharmaceuticals so if you are going to both stock up on your antibiotics and other med's in Pattaya to take home with you.

i have just retruned from my third trip to los, and first trip to pattaya.

What could be more cultural than to establish close personal interactions with the local populace?
Really we're experiencing a wonderful respite - anyone who remembers the apocalyptic situation a couple of years ago will tell you its much better now. For how long who can say?
But I did hear some interesting news from some of the ladies on my last visit: The police have broadened the scope of their actions to include staking out some short time hotels. Had 3 nights in Bangkok, first went out to Nana which had a few punters but seemed pretty quiet. Thought I'd check out the Angelwitch vs Spankys debate.
Was very disappointed with Angelwitch, seems most of the ladys have a lot of baby-damage with c-sections and stretch marks. After a couple there went to Spankys which was much better but still not great. The girls that dance above your head whilst hanging onto the chains off the ceilings are pretty cool though. I got back from Pattaya this week. I stayed on LK Metro for a few days and can report that the area was full of lovely ladies.
This was my first visit, so i have no frame of reference regarding high season/low season. I had plenty of fun, as apparently so did the many other people i met out there.
Beach rd was quite dry, but this was probably due to the festivities and all the stalls.
Soi 6 was as sleazy and captivating as i had hoped.

As regards Thais are concerned my assesement of situation is the "firangs" are seen to be reckless spenders and Indians are percieved to be spendthrifts and there is a history, hence we all get branded.
I have faced discrimination but having said people whom I got to know at business and even hoteliers or regular cabbies and restaurants, well even WGs have also behaved well, but after a while.
One more element,with the rise of Indian international travelling and spending power, the attitudes against India is changing, I went to a leading UK store in 1982, the eye glance dictated, you are not welcome. Today if I enter, a salesperson constantly chases one, can I help you.
I conclude it all depends on one's behaviour.
If shower or changing undies was the only grouse, I read an article the germans do not change under garaments for a week.
I am not attempting to get into a row with Germans, I have used it only as an example.
Long of the short, discrimination exists, there are reasons, lastly it depends on individual's behaviour

I totally agree with your statements, I am from Indian stock but I was born and bread in England.
I was in Bangkok earlier this year and went to Baccara in Soi Cowboy. I saw lovely young girl who was "dancing" on the opposite end of the floor to where we were sitting (upstairs) I called her over, she saw me and ignored my request, so I went closer to her and gestured again that I would like her to join me for a drink, again she ignored me. I spend seven days in Thailand, and here is my story:
Arrived in BKK and took almost 2 hrs to reach my hotel (Star Inn).
Booked Ice from Mango online and she was there.

YESH. It very true. Still we (dark skinned) people are facing discrimination in Asia and other countries of the world.
I'm not a Indina, and neither Bangladeshi. But in my experience. In mongering and other activities I have noticed same in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. I don't understand why these couontries are still in that level unciviliazed.
Specailly girls they don't like dark skinned, or medium skinned guys to approach them. What the fuck.? I thought most of the countries are more civilized now than it used to B. But we know. Only they are civilized in other areas. Not in discrimination based on colours and race.

Much like yourself, i am from Indian stock, born and bred British. I have been to Thailand several times, and never encountered any racism. This maybe in part due to being light skinnned, however the girls were always more than happy to spend time with me.
On my most recent trip to Pattaya, i did meet a couple of groups of Indian lads, from India. Some of the group were being quite obnoxious and acting like the proverbial kids in a sweet shop.

Blue yellow red etc. Then at least two years no more tourist from india went to Thailand no hotels wanted them. The first who startet to take them was the novotel bangna. But no traditional clothes allowed. So this was in 1991- 93. Nowadays I can garanty you that, checking in a 4 or 5 star Hotel in Thailand with traditional cloths on. Will cause you a problem.

Pattaya was created by white westerners, so they are tolerated even if they act like fools.

The funny thing with these tourist spots in Thailand (pattaya, samui, phuket) it seems like the more expensive, popular, and inundated with high spending tourists, the lesser the quality of meat that is available. I know that most of the good stuff is grabbed fast, but it just seems like the total supply gets worse with the increase in spending. I guess its that reverse Thai logic again!

But, if you sit at some beer bar all night long getting drunk because they have inexpensive beer and you are cheap, you are not going to find anything.

If you meet a girl you like, get her number and call her over for a little afternoon action. They all love this, because it is like free money for them, since they did not have to work for it by finding somebody new.
After a week of doing this you will have 20 numbers of different girls that will be glad to be with you all day if you like. Also, one other thing, when you take a girl the 2nd time the experience gets better. They now think of you as there friend. I would say that it's very unlikely that the "most beautiful girl in Thailand" (according to which and whose criteria by the way?) resides in Pattaya and even more unlikely that she would be available in the P4P market. You might be right, but, I've found some real stunners on Beach Road, and even more important, those girls are (in average again) more likely to perform very well in the sack, while some go-go girls may be very disappointing once back at your place or in your hotel room. According to my own experience (but YMMV, of course), you can get more fun for your bucks with Beach Road girls than with go-go girls. Alas, it seems that the (average) quality of providers has dramatically decreased in the recent years on Beach Road, but maybe, it's just me. It was quite easy to find a very good-looking girl there for an early afternoon fun on my first stays here, but nowadays, there's not much available there early in the day. It's better once the night has fallen though.

Two or three years ago (but it didn't last very long), I've noticed a slight inflation (again in average) in prices for the girls, for instance on Beach Road and for many freelancers from Walking Street (my two favorite hunting grounds in Pattaya). Ten years ago, it was also easier to get two (yes, 2!) decent girls in their early twenties from Beach Road for a total amounting 500 or 600 baht in the early afternoon for a ST session. Nowadays, it's (almost) impossible mission for the average Joe (but it's still possible with older and less attractive women). But almost everybody can still get a ST session for 500 baht and a LT one for 1000 baht from a single provider working on Beach Road (and from many freelancers available in several other places), and those prices are the same than 10 years ago. Barfines are (in average) higher than in the past (ten years ago, it was only 200 baht in almost every bar - not speaking about go-go's here).
By the way, one can still get a cheap blow job in the woods located near Arthachinda Road for 200 baht and a cheap fuck for 300 baht (or even less with the uglier and older girls), but it's not for the faint of heart: I don't know for sure where to find the most beautiful girls in Thailand, but that's certainly not in this area (even though once in a while, one can find an almost decent looking girl there).
I agree with most of your other comments. Just wanted to add that the most beautiful girls are not always the most expensive ones and one should not disregard some places (such as Beach Road, for instance) because some real gems still can be found here, despite them being (in my humble opinion) less numerous than in the past...

Amjeck, I am not going to get into a pissing contest with you. But, I will say the following. If you knew as much as Pattaya as you seem to imply you do, you would of instantly recognized the bar where those pictures were taken.
It is now and has been for years the most popular bar on Soi 6. Even if you did not recognize the inside of the bar, you should have known the evening gowns the girls were wearing, because they have been using them for at least 5 years.
As for the girls, it was a little afternoon 2 hour lesbo session that cost me 1,600 Baht. The small one was super cute, with a firm set of B cups. The tall one was one of the tallest Thai girls I have ever seen, almost 6-0". They don't rate in my top ten, but overall it was a good way to kill a few hours.

You know now exactly where I hang out and what my strategy is. For all of you coming here for the first time and have a little money to spend, which or course you do, the following is good action plan.
If I am in the mood for a little afternoon action I head to Soi 6. There are 50 or more short time bars there and it opens at 11AM, one of the earliest places you can find girls.
I never mentioned another of my favorite bars on here before, but I will now since one of the best girls I have ever been with does not work there anymore. As for my standards, I will supply you a little detail. For you newcomers, after you have been here a while you get jaded and become harder and harder to please. But, when you first get here, you are not going to believe what you are going to see.
First, since I am a tit man, I like a nice full set, which isn't the easiest thing to find in Thailand. Next, I like a cute to beautiful face. And financially and most important of all, she has to be nice, funny and friendly.

I think you nailed it. My standards have risen over the years and recently since i stopped drinking. I'm unfortunatley stuck in the pattaya grove do to economics. I simply can't pull the stunners (5k-10K market) in bkk due to finances. One girl a day would bankrupt me pretty fast.

This is really interesting that you mention that. The other day I met a rather attractive girl on beach road, definatley out of place. After a conversation with her, she tells me she used to work at one of the top discos and used to get 2500ST from customers. Now she is working on the beach and going for 700ST. I didn't take her because the first thing that popped into my head was HIV. Why would any girl give up that kind of money to work on the beach? She tried to give some kind of reason like she didn't like working in the bar, blah, blah, blah.

That's not always because of the reasons you mentioned. Some girls there just don't want to work in a bar nor under anyone's supervision and management. They prefer being independent. I've met many really beautiful girls there who don't work everyday. They work only when they want or need, and with their good looks, they don't have to wait very long to find a customer. They are honest, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, are not drug addicts and are not more likely to have a sexual disease than any other girl in the P4P business. And those are not a rarity, believe it or not! It's true that one must be careful with certain girls working on Beach Road, but if you are not stupid and wary enough, you can find real gems there.

Actually, I believe that there were an increase in prices for several reasons, one of them being that there were less tourists coming here after certain political events that occurred in the Land of Smiles, and Thai logic being what it is, some providers did believe that they could compensate a loss in their revenues by increasing their prices. It's not the only reason why, but this should not surprise people who have stayed here long enough...
As for the gangs on Beach Road, yes, they are probably more numerous than in the past, but they certainly don't control every girl on Beach Road! I also know many girls originating from I-San and who have chosen to go work here voluntarily (most of the times, because they already know a friend, a cousin or a sister who is working or had worked there) and who are not "pimped" by anybody (not even by a local boyfriend). Now that you are not knocking me, I will be quite a bit nicer. What people don't understand that don't live here, is that there are a ton of guys like you that live here and have fantastic lives.
As for the Go-Go bars, it is not that bad. The bar fine in 600 Baht, and 1,500 for ST and 2,000 for LT. If you take the girl early for LT, they might want a double bar fine, so just take them after 11PM.
The best deal without question, are the free-lancers on walking street after 11PM or so. There price is 500 for ST and 1,000 for LT. I always look for one that dresses nice, not smutty like so many of them do.
That way there is a good chance she has a real job, they are the best. I always also like to find out if they just came down from Bangkok, there really good too.
I just say hello and ask them if they want to have a drink, 90% will say yes and I take them to one of the beer bars on the ocean and talk to them for a while. If I like them, they like me and they seem normal I will take them back to my condo. I have never had a problem with this approach.
You really can't believe some of the girls you can get using this strategy. As far as drinking, you really can't go wrong with the 55 Baht draft beers at Happy's. It certainly gets you in the mood, for something if you don't leave Happy's with a girl.
The next best option is Soi 6, its only 300 for the BF, room and 500 for the girl. Other than that you can search the beer bars for the same price, but that could take some time and you could end up coming up dry. It is impossible not to find something nice on Soi 6, with 1,000 to 2,000 girls depending on what time you go.
Anything is better that beach-road; more than one guy has been robbed, drugged, beat up or what ever else. And Buda forbid, you catch something you really don't want to have and many of them do have it. That's why they are there, they can't pass there medicals for the regular bars.

There are loads of reasons why many cute girls don't want to work at a bar. They don't want a job requiring their presense in one spot 8 hours a day 6 or 7 days a week, and be docked pay for not showing up.
They don't want to be docked pay just because they didn't meet their quota of lady drinks and bar fines for that month.
They might have another day job or go to school so they only want to "work" part time and when they feel like it.
They might have a baby to take care of so can only "work" sporadically.
They might need only enough money to pay the rent, so they "work" only when the rent is due.
Yes, there are a lot of freelancers who are unattractive, but they certainly are not all hanging out on Beach Road. I've met a lot of cuties there who just don't like working at bars.
Soi 6 has tons of skanks and only very few cuties to be found with much persistence. In short, Soi 6 is no better than Beach Road. The hundreds of beer bars all over Pattaya are mostly populated by plain janes with an occaisional cutie sprinkled here and there. Walking Street freelancers are no better in overall appearence than Beach girls IMHO.
The key to success in Pattaya is the sheer number of available girls everywhere, many of whom are real cuties, and a significant amount who are stunners. Of course, that is the case with the general population of women, not just working girls.
It is easier to find a looker in the best go-go's, because that is where they tend to congragate, but even the very best of them ... Happy, SuperBaby, SuperGirl, etc., display their share of dogs.
IMHO, if a guy can't find girls to his taste in Pattaya, he is unlikely to find one very often anywhere.
BTW -- how long has it been since you've gone to Happy? The draft beers are now 59b, no longer 55b.

They are not the hottest girls one can find in the Land of Smiles (not even in Pattaya) and you've missed a few other ones by the way (and not the worst looking ones!). I would rate those on a scale ranging from 6.5 to 8/10, but some photos and video captures do not give them justice. And none of them charged me more than 500 baht ST or 1000 LT (I paid even less for girls working in a brothel).
I value chemistry with the girl more than her looks, but one can find better looking girls than those even on Beach Road or in local brothels almost everywhere in Thailand.

Sorry Bill, I have to disagree with you also on the above. I had a spell sampling the wares of beach road, many were working in the sweat shops of Rayong and came to Pattaya on their day off to earn extra cash. I know some of the skanks would use this as a cover story for their being there in the first place. If you post photos, you have to expect they're gonna get commented on. This is a forum. That's what people do here. What do you expect? There's no rule saying guys have to post photos before they can make comments. It has nothing to do with how daring you are. If you don't like getting negative comments, well, it's probbly not a great idea to post photos here then. Negative comments are absolutely inevitable. Some at least. If you want a place where only people who take photos can speak, you should join a photo club. Thats not where you are now.

More often than not, those stunners were not great performers, but if you want to know where I've found (among girls available in the P4P market) the best looking girls (according to me) so far in Thailand, it was in Nong Khai one year ago, on Sukpracha Road, at a place located near a parking lot and that is open only when the night has fallen. The best deal without question, are the free-lancers on walking street after 11PM or so. There price is 500 for ST and 1,000 for LT. I always look for one that dresses nice, not smutty like so many of them do.

I never said that my own ratings are not subjective (most of the times, I add "according to me" or "in my humble opinion" when I'm giving a mark). I also might rate some girls very differently than other people who simply never had the opportunity to see them in the nude. And I might also give different ratings for the same girl at various stages of our "relationship". Some girls look better (and for others, it's quite the opposite) with a certain attire and make-up, but are very disappointing once naked and after a shower.
And a good photographer (even without altering the resulting picture with Photoshop or another software) can make you believe on paper that one girl is a stunner, but when you meet her in the real life, she's just cute or slightly above average. One of my ex-girlfriends in France is an actress (she mainly plays in theaters), and she doesn't look the same on the pictures from her casting portfolio than in the real life. When she was in her early twenties, I would have rated her with a solid 7.5/10, but looking at her professional photo album only, many people would have thought that she deserved at least a 9/10 then. The difference between those ratings is mainly due to the photographer's talent and a good lighting...
That being said, I'm a very bad photographer, so, that's why I wrote that some of my pictures don't do justice to the girls! But I hope that most readers now can imagine at least what is a cute girl according to me.

As for the prices at Happy's or any of the top Go-Go bars for the 6 years I have been it has been 1,500 for ST. End of discussion on this issue, if anybody suggest anything different I am not responding, as your simply wrong. And Buda knows I have spent enough to know this one.

I have said the following before and I will state this again.
I don't negotiate with Thai girls, if they are asking the standard price. For those of you that are new here or are coming on vacation, the reason for this reaches deep into the Thai mentality.
In many cases, they would rather sit there, and this is for any profession and do nothing and make no money, rather than work for a little less than the standard rate. They fell cheated, if they do something for less than they got paid the last time. Why, I don't know, but that is the way it is.
If a taxi driver gets 150 Baht for a certain ride and has not made 1 Baht that day, and you offer 100 Baht, most times they will say no. If they do happen to say yes, they will ***** and moan the entire time about how much they are supposed to get paid, so once again it is just not worth it to me.
As for negotiating with the girls, since the amount of fun you are going to have is directly related to the girls, I never offer to pay them less than the standard rate. I want the girls in a good mood, happy and on there A game.
I also don't pay them more than the standard rate either, unless I am too drunk or they are too hot.
As for the prices on Soi 6, they are 500 for ST, end of discussion once again. Yes, some of the girls will ask for 700 Baht. All you have to do is say something like this, "I heard the price is 500." And virtually every one of them will take it, if not, who cares, there are 1,000 more that will.
In all the time I have been on that street, which might be 1,000 or more I have only had 1 girl hold out for 700. However, let me clarify this once more, to end any potential conflict.
As I mentioned before, I always offer to buy the girl a drink before I take her. I do this because I want to get to know her a little and make sure I like her, she likes me and she is a happy person and fun to be around.
So, by doing this the girl has made a little money off the drink I have bought her. Maybe that is the reason I don't have a problem, I don't know. Also, I am usually not drunk out of my mind, I am polite, I don't stink and I am usually laughing and joking around. This could also be a reason I don't have a problem.
As for the cuties on Soi 6, please anybody that implies you can't find super hotties there; well we have different opinions of the girls then. Also, for whatever reason this seems to be the place quite a few of the new girls just in town for the first time end up.
If you're down there as much as I am, you can even watch there transition from a native village girl to a savvy Soi 6 worker in a matter of months. They start out shy, not saying much, dressing very conservatively, too vociferous, arm grabbing, wildly dressing girls in a very short time.

Regarding the girls there, sure alot of them are messed up and couldn't work in bar if they wanted to. But I've questioned alot of them on why they don't want to work in a bar, including go-go quality girls.

I've just spent my first week in Pattaya, with one more to go, and it has so far been an interesting experience to say the least. I am not a good writer, and this might be a boring read for most, but I just wanted to express my thoughts on my trip so far.
As a total newbie for the first couple days, I ended up overpaying for everything. On the first night, I ended up going to a bar that was just across the street from my hotel (Eastiny Plaza). Like the nice guy I am, having a hard time saying no, I ended up buying several rounds of drinks for any lady that asked, and I also ended up barfining a girl from there. All rookie mistakes I now know. Now I have to pass by everyday when going back to my hotel, and they are constantly trying to drag me back into their bar so they can charge me outrageous lady drink prices of 160 baht per drink. At first I was stupid enough to go in each time, now no more. Unfortunately, first couple days I also overpaid for the women. Day 1: soapy massage on soi 2 for 2500 baht, soi 8 girl LT for 1500 baht barfine + girl. Day 2: soi 6 girl LT for 2000 baht! Yeah I probably should have done a little more research in advance, but I was just too excited to get out the gate.
On Day 3 I started realizing that if they like you enough, you don't have to pay anything for the girls. The combination of being Asian, American-born, decent looking, and in my 20s put me in good standing with most thai girls. Apparently there are not that many Asian Americans who take vacations to Pattaya, so they loved the American accent on a decent looking Asian man (whom maybe they could identify better with than a non-asian)? I don't know if it is those factors, but I am thinking that if you are younger and decent looking, no matter the race, you could probably have practically a free sex holiday in Pattaya. I realized this on day 3 when a girl on soi 6 practically begged me to take her with her, and that she would pay her own bar fine. I was hesitant but agreed. It ended up being some of the best sex I've had in my life. Since then, I haven't been paying a baht, other than for food and other random entertainment. I have been making the rounds in soi 6, and various discos for freebies, so that I have been able to offset the amounts I overpaid at the initial part of my vacation. I've just spent my first week in Pattaya, with one more to go, and it has so far been an interesting experience to say the least. I am not a good writer, and this might be a boring read for most, but I just wanted to express my thoughts on my trip so far.
As a total newbie for the first couple days, I ended up overpaying for everything. On the first night, I ended up going to a bar that was just across the street from my hotel (Eastiny Plaza). Like the nice guy I am, having a hard time saying no, I ended up buying several rounds of drinks for any lady that asked, and I also ended up barfining a girl from there. All rookie mistakes I now know. Now I have to pass by everyday when going back to my hotel, and they are constantly trying to drag me back into their bar so they can charge me outrageous lady drink prices of 160 baht per drink. At first I was stupid enough to go in each time, now no more. Unfortunately, first couple days I also overpaid for the women. Day 1: soapy massage on soi 2 for 2500 baht, soi 8 girl LT for 1500 baht barfine + girl. Day 2: soi 6 girl LT for 2000 baht! Yeah I probably should have done a little more research in advance, but I was just too excited to get out the gate.
On Day 3 I started realizing that if they like you enough, you don't have to pay anything for the girls. The combination of being Asian, American-born, decent looking, and in my 20s put me in good standing with most thai girls. Apparently there are not that many Asian Americans who take vacations to Pattaya, so they loved the American accent on a decent looking Asian man (whom maybe they could identify better with than a non-asian)? I don't know if it is those factors, but I am thinking that if you are younger and decent looking, no matter the race, you could probably have practically a free sex holiday in Pattaya. 1. Is hanging out with the same chick the thing you want from your trip? If so you should go for it I would say. Had a similar experience several years ago in LOS. It was in Chiang Mai and not in Patts. Woman I met also won't take a baht from me and almost treated me to everything. In the end, we exchanged phone #'s but she never called me for anything, she only said for me to call her whenever I returned to see her. Sadly, I lost her # and so never went back to CM.
So, everything depends on the gal in question as I was very lucky, perhaps it will be the case for you too.

My experience with the King's Birthday is that the bars will be decorated with homages to the King during the actual date of Dec. 8th, and possibly a few days beyond and you will see lots of ladies dressed in Gold and/or Yellow, but none of your activities will be curtailed.
BTW, I too will be in Pattaya and Bangkok during that timeframe. It's nothing to be concerned about.

Alcohol is always banned (however, it is not fully enforced) on the King's birthday (5th December) and on the Queen's birthday (12th August), on election day, and on other days such as significant days in the Buddhist calendar.
At least Thai-owned bars and restaurants usually do not serve alcohol then, and several bars, clubs and discos might even be closed for a few days (one before, and one or two after the King's birthday for instance).
But on December 8th, situation should already be back to normal almost everywhere.
I really can't understand how grown men can be so naive, as to sponsor a working girl in LOS.
At least 3 of the girls I banged in Pattaya told me they had western sponsors, who thought they were no longer working. One girl would ring her sponsor whilst giving me a HJ!Some people get emotionally attached. I've met girls who have multiple sponsors and still freelance. Traffic going to and from Pattaya, as well as everywhere in Thailand for that matter, will be worse than normal. Traffic on December 8 going back to Bangkok will be bad as well, but you shouldn't have any problems getting to Pattaya and everything will return to normal Tuesday. Decemember 10 is also a Thai holiday. It celebrates the transformation to a Constitutional Monarchy. While technically speaking alcohol sales are banned as well, it is rarely enforced, 7/11 may not sell you alcohol, as they often do enforce these rules in Bangkok. However the bars scene will not shutdown, and you won't have a problem finding some action. It falls in the middle of the week and thus most Thais would have to return to work on Friday anyway, so there won't be mass exodouses like the weekend before.

There is a traditional cure where they hold a flame to the mouth of a small bottle heating the air inside. Then they apply the bottle to an area of complaint. When the air in the bottle cools it creates a vacuum, which they believe draws out the 'negative humours', akin to bleeding or using leeches. The practice leaves a sort of round, bruised, 'hickey'. Couldn't see the marks in the photo, so I can't really say.

Sorry Paulo, I am not interested in getting to know her. I've spotted her numerous times on BR and on various sites on the net but never had an interest. Oddly enough she was not on BR tonight when I walked by, probably busy working her magic. It’s quite normal for girls to become callous after being in the game for some time and ten years is a long time to be hooking without some type of transformation. Sorry, Mistral66, but if we are speaking about her looks only, I won't be as generous as you (at least, based on the picture you submitted). I can't see her body very well on your photo, alas, and I might think that she looks better in the real life, but apparently, she's not really my type of girl nowadays. Don't get me wrong, she looks decent enough and I probably would have answered differently ten years ago, but as I've lived in the Land of Smiles for several years, I don't think that this girl has something particular, and she's not of the kind that I would notice immediately in a crowd. Arrived in Pattaya yesterday after 5 fabulous days with the Shrimp, first in Bangkok, then in Koh Samed. I'll write about that elsewhere, but first...
The Shrimp couldn't stay an extra night as planned due to family problems (perhaps), so she had to head back to BKK in the afternoon soon after we arrived at the hotel. So I visited Soi 6 and met a very SYT named Wa, who met my every need. Cruised the bars in the evening and met another not-quite-so-young lady in a beer bar on Soi 7, and took her back for a very lively session in my room.
But... I'm bored :(. Perhaps I'm jaded, perhaps I need a break, and in any case I am quite tired. But after two sessions of fairly meaningless sex I'm now sitting here in the BeerGarden and rather wishing I was somewhere else :(. The part of the Beach with girls is small - from Walking street to about Soi 7. However Na almost always sticks to the busiest or more central part of the stroll, near Soi Yamoto. For sure if she's out you'll find her between Soi 12 and Royal Garden Shopping mall.

I opened the door to Pim this evening and her eyes opened in surprise, she gave a huge grin and rushed in, throwing her arms around me and then jumping up on to me. Still not sure, depending on kind of flying ticket rates I may get.
I am supposed to go with a friend of mine who is a regular tourist in this same time and area. Yet, this year he might join me or not depending on his business, so he will resolve himself later and I might end up by myself as well.
Although my interest in journey is mainly sex, I would also enjoy some nature and relax.
Now, since I've been told that Phuket is best for beaches, and Pattaya for girls I am considering to visit both.
On the other hand, from a pure financial point my friend tips me not to do so because:
-Phuket would be more expensive.
-You could get a much more valuable price making an agreement with a hotel to spend the whole holiday in the same accomodation.
He says that you usually have access to 2 options: get a valuable rate for 1 month stay or an average more expensive rate staying less than 1 month, most likely the total for single night stays summed up together. No option in between. So if you stay, say, 15 days it will be not half of the monthly stay (or reasonably slightly more) but 1 x 15 night rate.
He says that this would be their way to "rip off" visitors, since there are few of them who stay for 1 month square and the majority spend less nights or more but bid for the monthly option anyway, because cheaper than the other one. Also, staff in hotels do not worry much about negotiating with customer: pick what is available at their conditions or quit they do not care.
So, going 2 to Pattaya and 1 week to Phuket, as I was figuring, would mean paying virtually the same rate than the 3 weeks/1 month rate (in Pattaya) plus the extra cost of the 1 week away (in Phuket).
Does anybody experienced anything like this or have any details to confirm condition described?

You will most certainly pay more if you try to go to Pattaya and Phuket. You also forgot to include travel expenses to/from Phuket in your costs. Plus Phuket is just more expensive, it attracts more "mainstream" tourists. There are girl's avaiable, and I have seen good looking girls from Phuket, but it is generally considered that Phuket is a retirement home for bar girls. I recommend that you stick to Pattaya, and take one of the day trips to the smaller islands off the cost of Pattay, they only cost a couple 100 Baht.

It's a nice mid range hotel, it has a great location IMHO, It's where I stay normally, and you can negotiate a long term rate with them. It costs 1200-1500 Baht a night depending on the time of year. You can get them down to about 1000 Baht a night if you are going to stay a month. They are available through Agoda as well, but there's no negotiating when you book through Agoda. If you want a hotel right in the middle of the action you can try:

Both are located on Walking Street and offer room's relatively cheap, Galaxy starts at about 1000 Baht a night, and 800 Baht a night at Secrets. But be forewarned these hotels are hardcore, right in the middle of the action, so don't even think about trying to get some sleep until 4 or 5 am I have never stayed a long time in either because after a few days I want to go some place a little quieter.
BTW. Buying a ticket now for that timeframe could be rather pricy, depending on where you are flying from. You are planning to come during what is prime tourist season, so everything, including flights costs more.

If you going to stay in Pattaya for 3 weeks, your best bet is to rent a condo. You can get one much better than any hotel room you will find. A nice condo for a month would run you around 15,000 Baht, plus utilities. They all have restaurants, laundries, internet shop and stores on the ground floor. I would recommend you try to get a room in View Talay 5. It is a brand new building, right on the bus route, next to the ocean. Below you will find a link to all the real estate agencies in Pattaya. Just look at there condos for rent and you can book them over the internet or call them, they all speak English.

I'm planning a 3-weeks journey to Thailand in January 2010 (1st time).
Although my interest in journey is mainly sex, I would also enjoy some nature and relax.
Now, since I've been told that Phuket is best for beaches, and Pattaya for girls I am considering to visit both.So another option might be a few days in Bangkok. You have to go there if it is your first time in Thailand. Then a few days in Pattaya for the girls, then a few days in Koh Samed (about an hour from Pattaya by taxi) for sun, beaches and relaxation, then back to Pattaya and then Bangkok and home. I'm just back from a few days in Koh Samed, where I had a wonderful time. Personally I wouldn't want to be there on my own, but you have an option to take a girl from Pattaya.

I am supposed to go with a friend of mine who is a regular tourist in this same time and area. Yet, this year he might join me or not depending on his business, so he will resolve himself later and I might end up by myself as well.

On the other hand, from a pure financial point my friend tips me not to do so because:
-Phuket would be more expensive.
-You could get a much more valuable price making an agreement with a hotel to spend the whole holiday in the same accomodation.
He says that you usually have access to 2 options: get a valuable rate for 1 month stay or an average more expensive rate staying less than 1 month, most likely the total for single night stays summed up together. No option in between. So if you stay, say, 15 days it will be not half of the monthly stay (or reasonably slightly more) but 1 x 15 night rate.
He says that this would be their way to "rip off" visitors, since there are few of them who stay for 1 month square and the majority spend less nights or more but bid for the monthly option anyway, because cheaper than the other one. Also, staff in hotels do not worry much about negotiating with customer: pick what is available at their conditions or quit they do not care.
So, going 2 to Pattaya and 1 week to Phuket, as I was figuring, would mean paying virtually the same rate than the 3 weeks/1 month rate (in Pattaya) plus the extra cost of the 1 week away (in Phuket).
Does anybody experienced anything like this or have any details to confirm condition described?

P.S. Consider that I am aiming to an average accomodation, comfortable and affordable, something in between either a bungalow or a luxury resort.

If you are visiting various places then I don't see the point of renting a place for a month in one place.
Say spend a few days in Bangkok head to Phuket then Pattaya (you can visit a few other places like Koh Chang or Koh Samet) then after Pattaya back to the airport.
In Pattaya areound the Soi LK and Soi Buckheow area you can get a guest house for between 500-1000 a night.

I don't know about all the bus companies but the Bell bus does not run at that time of night. I doubt that any of them do.

Anyone know if I can catch a bus to Pattaya in the middle of the night?Nope, the last bus leaves the airport at 8:00, the downtown stations have a bus that leaves at 11:00 I am almost positive, it may leave earlier, but there's no chance its later. Schedule a Taxi through the Mr. T from ThaiLearner's post he's the best deal around, 1000 Baht total including tolls, and you don't need to be worried about being scammed by him.
A regular taxi will cost you at least 1500 Baht, and most liekly a lot more, and then they will tell you when you get to the toll both you pay tolls. They often demand gas money, food, anything to get a few Baht of the Farrang. Mr. T's service is not like that, he knows he has good reputation, and is not going to compromise that to scam a few Baht off someone.
The buses from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya leave at:

The buses to Pattaya from Ekamai and Morchit leave every 30 minuets from 6:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.

Now, changing location from Bangkok to Phuket to Pattaya to Koh Samet is it something that may affect my budget in terms of accomodation costs, so that it may be more convenient to make a deal with a single hotel/apartment (if there is any chance to get one) or is it not so relevant?

The last bus from BKK to Patts leaves at 8PM. I'm surprised that the last departure from Jomtien to drop off doesn't do a turn at BKK, tho - it gets in at 9pm or so ... they go SOMEWHERE for the nite because they leave for Jomtien and points in between at 6:45

Nope, there are no buses until the next morning. You've got 3 choices:
1) Get a taxi to Pattaya
2) Hang out at the Airport or an Airport hotel until around 8 AM
3) Go into Bangkok for the night, and catch a freelancer after the bars close.
My flight gets in at 11:45, and I am going to be availing myself of choice #3. Then getting a bus from Ekamai the next day.

A condo is a privately owned unit or apartment in a building that has many of them, ranging from 50 condos to 800 condos. The people that own these condos and don't live in them turn them over to various Real Estate Agencies in the hope they will rent them out and the owner will make a little money.
They can vary in size from 28 Square Meters, which would be a small studio to 400 Square Meters that would be 3 or 4 bedrooms. You can rent a condo for as low as 6,000 Baht plus utilities. Obviously the more your willing to pay, the better your accommodations are going to be.
If you are staying in Pattaya for two weeks or more, you will almost assuredly be better off renting a condo instead of staying in a hotel room. The agencies will usually want you to pay when you move in and take a one months deposit. If there is no damage your deposit will be returned to you less the electric and water you used.
They will check the meters when you check out. This could add anywhere from 500 Baht to 4,000 Baht to you cost largely depending on how much your air conditioning is turned on.

Just review the condos for rent section and find one you like. Then email the agency and find out if it is available for your dates. If you want to talk to them, they all have numbers on there websites. You can download Skype and call them for virtually nothing.
There are a ton of buildings here and it is really important that you get one on the Baht Bus route so you have 24 hours day transportation. I would recommend View Talay 6 in Pattaya. It is right in the middle of everything next to the new mall which is the equivalent of any major mall you will find anywhere in the world.
In Jomtien, which is where I live as do most of the people that live here year round, I would recommend View Talay 1, 2 and 5. It is a ten minute ride to Pattaya, although the road is now being renovated and it could take longer depending on what time of day you travel.
Another way to do this is too rent a hotel room for a few days and have a look around for yourself and see what you find. If you arrive during working hours 9AM to 5PM you will be able to check into your condo that day. However, if you arrive later you will need a hotel room.

Yes travelling about alot will eat more into your budget.

If your flight times are right then Bell bus is 400bht return.
You should get a better deal if you stay at the same guesthouse/hotel for the 3 weeks. Not all places will. Remember January is still classed as high season.
Also you will need more than a $1000 for 3 weeks I budget a £100 a day.

That is an extremely tight budget for the new high-cost Thailand. That's roughly 1,500-1,600 baht per day. Really, its almost impossible I'm afraid. But the best way for you is to go directly to Pattaya and try to find a fan/cold water room with no TV for 150-250/night, and then eat only very simply, don't drink or go into any bars, and just take only Beach Road freelancers for about 300-600 per session, assuming Beach Road is not being cracked down on too much at the time of your visit (its been ok lately)
Alternatively it wouldn't be bad to go to Udon Thani and stay in a decent cheap hotel for 250-320/night with TV and air, and just go to the small Lao houses for about that same 300-600 per session. However there is no guarantee the houses will be open when you're there, and of course service is poor. I wish I could tell you more about the update on that scene, but I haven't been in a while.
Let's budget both of those out, for fun:
Pattaya - Taxi to Pattaya from the airport 1,200 baht +
each day 250 room, 1,000 for girls, 250 for food - 1,500/day times 20, 30,000 + bus to airport 200 = total 31,400 baht.
Udon - one night in bangkok each way 1,800 X 2, 3,600 baht, + each day 320 room, 1,000 girls, 200 for food, 1,520 day times 18 days, 27,360 + bus to and from Udon 600 each way times two 1,200 = total 32,160 baht.
This gives you two girls per day, and if you cut it back to 1.5 girls per day you'll have money for the myriad unexpected expenses that come up - for example washing your clothes and getting around. I'm afraid that 2,500 baht a day is a lot more realistic.

My, my, my. I've been told from this friend of mine that staying 3/4 weeks or more makes sense as the only way to balance high costs of plane ticket, since once in Pattaya life there is cheap and now I find out that it is expensive too!
Maybe I should re-plan and stay only two weeks.
By the way, flyng to Bangkok from Milan with Thai Airlines is about 900 euros (roughly 1. 300$) so it is actually half of the budget for the holiday.
(Unless you don't have better tips for that too, it seems to me that flying with Lufthansa, Klm or other companies which stopover at somewhere makes a long journey longer and even more expensive. Thai Airlines still sounds to me as best bet).
Back to budget. Yes, I think I can raise it to 1. 300$ or something, depending if I manage to save something on plane rate, but not much more.
Opebo, as for lifestyle during holiday, if think 1 girl a day will work for me. I have been told that girls stay overnight for an average of 1. 000 baht, so having 2 girls a day would mean either a permanent threesome or an extra session in the afternoon and I don't think I would ever reach that score.
As I told, I would enjoy some rest too, some lazy time in walks, laying on beach or riding a boat to coral island. Or is it a 24hr pussy-focused set like gambling is in Vegas?
Now, I would enjoy a comfortable accomodation, but I don't need no luxury. I would enjoy some fine food and drinks, but I don't mean pushing it at top.

Bill, thanks for detailled description provided.
I think that probably the best for me is to spend 1/2 days in a hotel and then see there what is available, what I like and what I can afford.
More than everything I am for a quiet place. I like to rock and roll into the night, but when partytime is over I need a good time sleep and I cannot bear noise around.
I don't mind if it takes a short ride to beach or to go-go bars, provided there is a good bus service (I would like to avoid motorbike), I am definitely for a place away from street hassle or construction area, all things that I probably need to check on the spot.
Verdant Villa is cheap and looks ok, Nong Apartments and Jomtien Vacation Rental Apartments are more expensive but even look cosier. Maybe I can afford one of them.
Can you tell me if Nong and Jomtien are still district of Pattaya or names of smalltown around?
Are they located on View Talay 6 you reccomended?

Your figures are correct for Udon Thani, and many brothels are open (I visited soi sow fai deng and two other P4P places in this town very recently).

If what you are saying is you want a 3 week holiday excluding airfare for a total of $1, 000 USD (including girls, food, and accomadations for the $1, 000 USD) that is only $50 a day and tha would be difficult to do even with a very low budget unless you cut out girls or room.

I just reread your posts. For me anything less than $100 a day excluding airfare. Even in Pattaya. Is my bare minimum. Unless you ate only going to take a girl every other day or so.

$ 1300 excluding hotel room is not enough for one month. Oh oh yes is enouth without the girls and drinks for 120 baht at go gos etc.. No girls no alcool no fun. My last stay in Pattaya for fun. Doing nothing special just beach. Some tequillas. Beach chair food. With girl a weekend Friday Saturday Sunday
Euro 200 easy gone.
