I agree. I had my first ever trip to Thailand last January-February and I really expected it to be slow and barren after reading a lot of the doom and gloom (the global economy slowing down is hurting tourism!) reports here. Maybe it wasn't as busy as previous high seasons, but Bangkok and Pattaya were absolutely PACKED. I would take reports stating that Thailand is going to be hurting and slow with a grain of salt. People have been saying that for a long time on here it seems, but Walking Street was still packed, bars were packed, malls were packed, etc.

I'the love for things to slow down as I hate crowds, but let's be honest with our reports, fellas. The crowds of Chinese and Koreans are still very much flooding the streets of Bangkok and Pattaya, particularly for high season. I bet you could even watch YouTube videos / streams that will confirm this. I am going again this December and I'll report back.My guess for why last high season was packed and high tourists numbers was the pent up demand from people not being able to travel due to Covid. We're well over a year now since the world reopened so to speak and travel across the globe has seen record numbers. But I think that post Covid demand starts to fizzle soon and places like Thailand won't see as busy high seasons for a while.

Global recession incoming, people's savings from Covid and government stimulus checks are about exhausted. Saw a stat that almost half Americans only have $1,000 or less in savings. I think that is likely indicative of the rest of the world.

Pattaya currently is pretty dead, especially compared to this time last year. I took a walk down Soi Pothole the other night and no customer in sight but a crap ton of ladies working and hollering for handsome man to buy drink. Honestly the ladyboys were better looking than the ladies on Soi Pothole.

I get multiple massages a day and all the ladies complain about a lack of customers and how slow it is.

Generally speaking, not a ton of lookers in Pattaya, but a ton of average looking ladies. It's fairly dry out there but I'm still having a good time.

Still amazes me on how many ladies insist on 1,500-2,500 for ST with so little customers. They're in for a rude awakening once the global economy really starts to melt, they'll be begging for 800 baht ST soon enough. Just my humble prediction.

On the Darkside, Thai ladies with farang backing usually are funded by farangs I hear this a lot " small money " This is all they know after the grand opening friends are gone six months down the road door shuts. Those that stay open like Monkey Bar, Pussy Cat are doing things they shouldn't. Although it is small money to Thais it adds up when you start to kick out each month and bring in zero even the farang who thinks they are rich due to the exchange rate get a reality check these are basically grey businesses of what the Triads are being accused of but on a much larger scale.

In the years I was running around updating the places on the darkside for a guy in town I did this for a reason didn't get paid but allowed me to stop at each place to take a pee maybe I just might find a gem. In all that time I can only remember once a Thai guy confronted me and it wasn't a BF, The majority of these places have to pay to operate once a month a car pulls up, and payment is made usually to the district cops so having your own protection a Thai guy isn't good business or appearance out here.

As for looks, I would compare it to personnel on Soi Pothole, you aren't going to find Go-Go types out here. In the past, I've been more attracted to female Thai managers, owners, and even cashiers.

Further out to the Lake even rare about a dozen are ventured by local expats. Yes if you visit at bad timing you can easily get cock block but a regular that buys drinks all night long. The ones on Khao Talo top portion have ST rooms on site. The place I used to enjoy is Aqua Deyme down off Nernpludwan I've had a few really good rolls in the hay there they have a pool, pool table, and rooms in the back very nice setup. Right now two popular places out on Soi Siam Country around 5 KM off Sukhumvit, Soi 27? Next to the Taco House, a place called Darkside Bar, across the road Rt. 66 I see lots of traffic in and out while I chuckle down tacos.

If backrooms bother you and you have your own transportation you can head back up to Sukhumvit Soi just before between Nernpludwan and Siam is a ST resort call what else " Love Inn " one of the best clean, 280 for 3 hours 580 VIP for the night.

Two days back I saw pattaya hop on hop off tourist bus. Red color brand new with only a driver. On Pattaya south road.

Last night drizzle caused three different fire sparks and two explosions on the construction opposite jannat. No injuries but a big crowd with lots of police. Ironically this was the same place which had a massive fire few years ago. It took more than 30 minutes for the firetruck to show up.

There are a number of them on 3rd Road which I consider lower end meaning not luxury like your pictures. If one likes to walk from the corner of Pattaya Tai, on 3rd road towards Klang you will see a number of them. You proceed up the 3rd Road back portion of Hollywood There are also a number of these clubs that are actually restaurants with live Thai bands The girl's waitresses are not just there to serve Thai guys go order food bottle service and the girls will sit and join you. I've been to a few that the waitresses were top go-go in looks. I was taken they are also cheaper how cheap I've never asked. Pre-Covid I've been to a number of them with the family to eat Some of these girls are knockout there was a place pre-covid that I ate deep in the dark side with my cousin my wife told my cousin to take one for the night.

If one crosses the top of 3rd Road over Pattaya Nua there are two right there similar pre-COVID to your picture. There are a number in Naklua around the Wong Amat beach Condos I highly suggest not visiting many are loaded with young Thais wannabes mafia. What E showed is very common in the Darkside small bars because the Thai woman has a bit of money but no business sense or a farang giving her money She is bored knows nothing else and tells him " small money " the rent on these shops could be 5000-10,000 at best in rent no key money usually.

I tend to go to the same resort year after year and in mid-August I talked to the reception manager and learned their resort was 80% booked for November and 70% booked for February. I don't know if that is a national trend, but my favored resort seems to be drawing customers better now than ever before.

In Pattaya, I visited, in no order of preference, Heave Above, High Rollers, The Den, Buzzin Lounge, Maggie Mays, Kings, Club Fate, Red Hot and Blue, Escape, Eden, Octopussy. In Jomtien / Pratumnak I visited Seahorse, Kit Kat, Catflaps, Venom, Cobra Bar, Hunny Lounge. I decided against Pussy Galore and Camel Toe just based upon logistics a bit difficult to get to and from or out of the way especially when walking everywhere! Last year my favourite GC was High Rollers 2 good pool tables, lovely staff and enough decent looking girls including my favourite Aom. I spent several nights there then. This time, I was disappointed in HR. Aom still there but no longer looking the fresh girl of a year ago. I decided, only having 10 nights, to try to avoid returning to any given club too many times given the many options available. I returned to Club Fate twice. My first visit to Club Fate (Soi Boomerang) there was memorable. What became clear to me about Gents clubs is that the quality of your experience is very much dependent upon (1) the vibe in the club / bar that actual night (2) which girls are working (3) your own mood. I suppose this could be said of all types of "entertainment" venues but whilst the vibe say in Kink was the same every night, the same could not be said of GCs Fate was markedly different on my two visits despite me having the same upbeat mood / approach which had taken me into a room with 3 girls.

So on to Jomtien / Pratumnak GCs. I had never been on previous visits, but I will 100% target this area, especially Pratumnak when I next return. Mongering aside, Pratumnak is the place to be. It is as upscale as Thailand gets on the coast. A quaint village-style area where it is clearly more opulent than the surrounding areas including the chilled-vibe of Jomtien. The GCs here are just better cleaner, more high end, better facilities. The quality of girls didn't incrementally improve but it didn't diminish either. Catflaps is the stand out club in terms of quality. A little bit of a walk uphill from the Main Street of Pratumnak but 5 minutes and well worth it. A sunken circular blue bar area which resembles Scandalos in Malaga Spain (for those who have been). Run by a very nice American guy, the club is well set out, good facilities and good vibe. The "cuddle" areas / couches to the right of the bar as one enters were occupied by a few guys who were butt naked and getting their cocks attended to by several girls. Bit like a scene from Tuesday open area sex night in Globe Club Switzerland. But it is dark enough and well set back enough that this isn't somehow in your face and lots of people were chatting at the bar / playing pool, watching the big screen sport and totally ignoring the open BJs and HJs in the booths off to the side. Curtained areas were available as well as VIP rooms.

The owner has acquired Maggie Mays and is extending it for me it needed it too small and no pool table currently all that is changing. KitCat was a pleasant surprise. Looks tired from outside, and indeed inside, but good options which tempted me to take 2 for an afternoon threesome. Very nice VIP room with showers to side.

I much preferred the beach at Jomtien to Beach Road in Pattaya. Not in advanced section.On a recent trip to Jomtien / Pattaya- I used an ATM at my condo SCB Bank (Siam Commercial Bank) they provide a good Exchange Rate, a standard 220 Baht Access Fee or Charge based on my 10,000 Baht purchase, THEY ALSO INCLUDE A 5% "MARK-UP FEE" WHICH IS NOT DETAILED ON THE RECIEPT ONLY "MARK UP 5% Later in the trip I was referred to the "ATM outside 7/11" which had the standard Access Fee of 220 for 10,000 Baht, good exchange rate, but did not have any Mark-up Fee- this was Bangkok Bank, therefore they are about 5% better than the prior ATM provided by Siam Commercial Bank, I wish I had know this prior. That ATM was in an ultra busy Soi Buckalo area so I can assume that other ATM's at 7/11 could have similar, I would go back if nearby.

Exchanging cash for baht is T&T, yellow booth a number of them on Soi Buakhao, 2nd, Beach Road, generally the rate is the highest, the one inside Big see Extra is slightly lower than the other TT. There is one I've seen s tick higher but not so much worth walking to get to it. If on Soi Buakhao heading towards Soi Honey after you past Treetown on the right there is small green booth I've seen it a bit higher.

So true. All the thai banks charge this fee. In addition they will ask if you want to use their exchange rate, which should always be refused. The same deal with credit cards. Always pay by local currency and your bank exchange rate is going to be better than Thai banks. I do have a Thai bank account and side step these charges. Like some one pointed out below, XE will give you a very good rate. Sadly XE will not work if you want to send money back to USD from Thai Baht.I thought I had posted it but looking now not sure what happened! Here in Pattaya by far, the best rate and consistency is T&T they are the yellow booth that are all around Soi Baukhao, Second and even Beach Road has a few. Beware there are a few around that are yellow but they don't have the black T&T logo. There is also one at Big see extra that one is a bit lower than the rest majority of the time if that makes a difference.

I noticed last week right pass TreeTown, right side heading toward Soi Honey just before Sawasdee Hotel there is a green shack exchange it was a bit lower than T&T.
