FA.The Jomtien bus stops at Pattaya North Road, on Sukhumvit, as well as near Pattaya Tai.

Normally, I would advise taking a Bolt taxi, but they are very busy now.

The Baht busses charge 50 Baht to Beach Road indeed, and have done so for many years in a row already. They are not mafia, it's the official price (as far as anything is really official in Thailand).
Alternatively you can order a Bolt taxi. Very convenient, air conditioned, and only a bit more expensive.

Bell Travel Service is going from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the same Northern Bus Station. And from there they take you in minivans to your hotel.

FA.Are you really complaining about an additional 50 baht from the bus station? Those trucks drop people off anywhere on BR or 2nd Rd, but they have to fill up with customers first. Usually takes 15-20 minutes depending on how many people from the buses take them. So you are talking about a $7 trip from Bangkok to Pattaya and still trying to save more money? If that's the case, there is a nice air conditioned invisible bus that picks up people from the same station. Just stand towards the front and wait for it. Bring some water and make sure you don't miss it.

I went to PP Body Massage around 4 pm yesterday. I passed 4 asian guys who were leaving as I was going in and I was the only customer when I got inside. There were about 12 women in the fishbowl, all aged late 20's+ and thick in the beam. Don't get me wrong, most were well made up and attractive but they were a bit older and thicker than I would usually want. There are 3 colours and I chose a blue at 2700 Bht.

The room was big and very good. Usual layout of big bath, wet area for soapy mattress and a big bed. Started with a light massage on the bed as the bath was filling then on to bath, soapy body slide on inflatable mattress, shower then on to bed for CBJ (no convincing her on BBBJ) and boom boom.

Overall the lady was good fun, spoke some English and tried her best to give a good service. On the way out there were less women in the fishbowl and none were any improvement on when I arrived. There looked to be one customer though he was looking at his phone, not the fishbowl.

Would I repeat at PP. No; ladies too old and big and CBJ.

FA.Plenty of door to door options at not unreasonable prices in a car to yourself (e. G. Angie Taxi 1200 Bht from BKK, 1500 Bht from downtown) and a lot faster than the bus. I don't know where you are coming from but I bet it has cost you a fair bit to get here and is the money saved getting the bus to Pattaya worth it considering what you are probably going to blow your money on when you get there?

They save us the waiting time when the baht bus is not filled yet.

There is a standard price and there is availability. If you know the price you can choose to accept it or not. Purpose of this Board is exchanging information. Well it should be and it used to be. When I arrived last time it seemed there was no bath bus but with another farang managed to get a baht bus on the street (20 baht to Beach Road). On the way back I could not find a single baht bus in about 90 minutes and no other transportation so I walked. Trying to avoid this as it was not pleasant hence the question. There should be a baht bus route on the north street but I did not spot any. That is why I asked after doing some research and could not find the answer. I could go to Jomtiem and take a bus back to Beach Road but then I need to get out to the airport.

Not sure why any of this is inappropriate questioning. And I only drink handcrafted espresso and cappuccino, preferably from my own manual machine, beans from a private roaster. Not sure why that matters though. A reliable private car service might also work but I stay close to Ekkamai so not that big of a time saver doing that. If anyone has a good driver feel free to pm me.

Personally I don't bother anymore with the baht bus when I want to go back to the bus station. I take the moto taxi, usually from Buakhao and it costs around 80 every time.

If the bus is ready to leave then the bus takes about the same time as a taxi. Add maybe 10 more minutes to get from the bus station to where you are staying. 1000 baht is what I pay chicks for all night. 1100 baht is 1/4 of my rent. Why wouldn't I try to save it if I am saving virtually no time or there is not something pressing I need to do when I arrive?

Years ago I had a good friend move to Pattaya on the darkside helping to get him to settle in across from his resort was a market needed to buy a thai broom cost in general 40 baht he decline started to walk I said where you going said down the soi in hot sun cause he felt he could get one for 35 baht. I pull out 40 baht and purchased It for him and said weclome to Thailand.

They wait till they fill up to pile people against one another like sardines, with luggage up to the roof and below your feet. If only they would be 10% less greedy and take one passenger less. They only stop short of shoving passengers onto the roof. And yes, there is a taxi mafia. I once called a Bolt near the bus station, he called me back asking me to walk some distance from the bus station, implying he couldn't possibly stop too near the station. This was a hassle for me because I was carrying a suitcase.

Now I always use the service of the people staying in the bus station.

Nowadays there is very few baht bus on that road, most probably because they changed the signage of the road. The baht bus cannot go straight from the bus station to the roundabout using north pattaya road and they cannot make the you-turn on Sukhumvit road too, they've got to use small sois from the back of the bus station which means they can get very few customers when they go that side of Pattaya.

THAT feels like a waste of money.Regardless of having the habit of thinking value of stuff before throwing money around (some could even call stingy.), after trying the bus couple of times just out of interest of knowing how it works many many years ago, came to same conclusion myself. First time was lucky bus was just about to leave and all waiting could fit in. Second time less lucky as had to wait quite some time to get to bus.

After traveling 15+ hours, without proper sleep, I really value someone waiting me at airport when I get out with my bags, taking the stuff to taxi and drive me home while trying to keep awake on the back seat, without need to think too much. Worth every baht after long flights. And I recall paying the 1000 baht to Pattaya 15+ years go, so taking the overall inflation into consideration it is decent deal even at 1200. Just compare it how much girl's rates have inflated from those times.

Bus maybe would be okay after short local flight when returning from trip not being tired / jetlagged and not in a hurry, just taking the bus ride as an experience.

Safety reasons. I feel much safer in a bus than in a taxi with some crazy Thai driver.
For a short distance in Bangkok or Pattaya I can live with that (literally, so far).
But for long distances I prefer the bus. I only take a taxi if the bus is not running, like late at night for example.

And regarding the money: you have to get back also, at some point, so you save approx. 60 Euro. I rather spent that on a nice girl, or a good hotel.
But that's just me. We all make our own choices.

It is hard to understand if that was the case! The issue at hand posted was taking the BUS FROM EKAIMAI TO PATTAYA NUA, THE BUS STATION then walking around the Soi Pattaya Nua in front of Makro then waiting for the SONGTHAW not an actual bus. The post isn't about a person taking a long flight!

Correct! Whenever I arrive after a long flight, especially from the West Coast to Bangkok, I walk downstairs to the Taxi area go to the Q kiosk, and push in the size of the taxi I need. Each time I arrived at the taxi indicated without a doubt get the head-toe review which whatever their reason the price is always higher. I just tell them the price and reason take it or leave it not their price but it is close and reasonable. They give me a long story lecture I walk even if they price it down thereafter I say nothing go back to the Q and get another number end of the story. I've only once had to do that.

The end after a long flight I don't give them a time of the day! For late flights I go into Nana taxi they give me a price and I give them a price always with a smile is it what I want majority of the time no but close. My goal is to get into Nana as quickly as possible check in the hotel shower out the door to roam around.

Everything I've said is not being cheap but a time and place for everything what is more important or one just has to have it all their way!

It seems that there is no baht bus to go from the roundabout to north Pattaya station anymore, at least I didn't see any during my last three visits.I have noticed the same, but that was during the pandemic.



Personally I don't bother anymore with the baht bus when I want to go back to the bus station. I take the moto taxi, usually from Buakhao and it costs around 80 every time.A Bolt taxi (car) costs about the same from Buakhao. More convenient and safer if you have luggage.

...Is a bus safer? A bus it more likely to topple over to a sheer drop on from of the suspended motorways. The concrete parapets are too low to prevent a bus from falling over.

But for long distances I prefer the bus. I only take a taxi if the bus is not running, like late at night for example.

I also think safety is a good reason to prefer bus for longer rides. No guarantees of course, but bus companies will usually have at least two staff on board, the driver and somebody else next to him (usually a woman checking tickets and handing out water). Since the other person usually doesn't want to die because the driver fell asleep, she also has some motivation to keep the driver engaged / awake. I was in Pattaya in the third week of December for three nights. Stayed in Caeser Palace hotel second road opposit Central Festival. Hotel location is good and rent is reasonable but bed was noisy. No mention at all of tax information, tax documents, anything.

I will be extending mine in a few months. Unless I see a change on their website, I suppose the Immigration Officer will just be springing a big surprise about it on me and everyone else there for the same purpose.

Of course, I will check again a day or two before I go and print out the full instructions so we can all have a fine time comparing notes.

As of yesterday on the Thai Immigration website there was no change in the instructions or the list of documents required in order to extend an O-A Non Immigrant (Long Stay) visa vs last year. No mention at all of tax information, tax documents, anything.

I will be extending mine in a few months. Unless I see a change on their website, I suppose the Immigration Officer will just be springing a big surprise about it on me and everyone else there for the same purpose.

Of course, I will check again a day or two before I go and print out the full instructions so we can all have a fine time comparing notes.This year is the year to watch your days in Thailand to not fall under Residency status.

Wherever you open a bank account or take action in some financial operation in many countries, you are deemed to fill a form specifically referring to your position, if any, with US tax authorities. As they might have to communicate info to them.

It's all about bilateral agreements where the US have gained more data power.

Nevertheless more banks or financial institutions have to follow their country rules to acquire foreign tax position of citizens of other countries, regardless they are residents.

Being from a country that has that Treaty in place, I was hoping to find a mention of the general change on the Thai Immigration website, such as, "In the case of extending an O-A Non Immigrant Visa for an expat not from a country with the No Double Taxation Treaty, these are the current conditions and required documents, blah, blah, blah. But as of 2 days ago I did not see any reference to it.

There was an article the other day on As--and, in regards to this topic explanation from tax attorneys. I tried to go back and locate the story and paste it here but sadly I can't find it at the moment even then I'm not sure how to paste etc get it on this board.

People should be concerned because I fall into this category but living here for so many years I hear things thrown out by their leaders and you wonder and just wonder. So I'm just going to take a wait-and-see attitude until!

What I do remember reading is you get a pass this year because the Thai who opened this can of worms did not have a clue as to what he or she did. When it was brought up was mainly to target " Thais " earning money abroad and bringing it back to Thailand, enforcing was rightly so but it opened a whole can for expats and foreigners living here. Without a real clarification like everything the rumors running crazy. I hear ex-pats talk and what I hear is totally hearsay and even false because so and so told meM.

The key is how are they going to enforce it and will they see what they have open will they. What I got from the story was every country is different for the USA There is a treaty or agreement you can't take the Social Security pension. You can't double-tax an individual. Myself, although living here I file a tax return every year in the States for my S. S. And company allowance. From my understanding, Britain has no such agreement for example.

From my IRA, 401 K, etc. I have delayed taking it but will need to soon what I take out is added to my ordinary income and taxes are paid based on my bracket. So it assumes falls also into the Double taxing rule. The money I have shipped or brought over from the States through the years sits in my Thai bank and the interest given to the bank takes the taxes out from there so I've covered.

In the fine print, there are provisions on how long you stay and how you ship or spend here a year that require you to file a return. Most of the extra money I might ship comes from earnings already taxed come from earning before 2024. If one does file would need to provide proof of such. So look at what I have written lots and confusing so how is a Thai going to sort all this out if one does decide to file? Then I read from the article the website is only in Thai! Do people see where this is going?

There are tons of ifs at the end the Lawyers say if you need to file nothing to worry the tax law is so lacking that they provide tons of exemptions for tons of reasons the average person isn't going to pay a baht. But like myself, the last thing I need to add to my list is filing a tax return. So for myself, I'm not going to do one but what I plan to do for this year is just forward my S. S. And pension using Wise twice a month. If they ever get that fall when I fail for my extension and they ask me why I will prove to them I'm living out totally on the two which under the agreement can't be taxed again by your government so no filing is necessary.

Meantime the extra I've been bringing when rates are to my advantage will stop. All the extra will be brought when I go home once or twice a year whatever the limit of 10,000-20,000 I will carry it here myself or have my trusted family members visit to bring it over and laundry it. If all goes wrong there is the wait-and-see as to what agents can do to obtain extensions without all the nonsense. Worse come to worse I will need to spend time away from my Thai family and travel to other countries nearby but I'm not filing for now will hold tight!

I will be in the great Pattaya next week for few days and trying to plan the best experience out of it. Been in BKK last year where I had a great time, but so many friends pushed me to visit Pattaya too because of the unique experience. I went to Cambodia on a bus from a visa company I happened to see. The cost was 3200 baht though the guy sitting next to me said he only paid 2600 baht. Bus picked me up at 5:30 and I was back at my hotel by 3 pm. We stopped halfway there for bathroom break and half way back for lunch. I was told I needed two passport photos but no one took them so I didn't need, who knows if other people did. All I did when I got to Cambodia was stand in whatever line I was told to and then went to next line. I didn't time how long I was there but I'd guess about an hour.

My personal stuff is I left thailand for a week after being here a month and got first extension that way and the second extension by going to immigration office. This is my 3rd extension.

Thanks a lot.Until my last trip the advice I was given was that it was a waste of nights to go to Jomtien. I decided to take that advice but do a trip one day and one night to see what I thought. Well, the advice I got was bad IMHO. Jomtien, or more specifically Pratumnak, is not only a LOT quieter than Pattaya, the beach is far better and the vibe is more chilled. There are still plenty of options, bars, GCs if that's for you, and the noise is far less. The trip to central Pattaya is short and inexpensive. Sure if you go on the back of a bike over that hill it can be hairy if the rider is fast! But either take a normal cab, or the Bhat bus or even walk. It's not that bad. The girls do whine about the distance as if it's miles away. It's not. Just offer a bit extra and they are fine.

Daytime in Jomtien / Pratumnak Hill are so much better than in bustling Pattaya. I'm back soon and will definitely stay in Jomtien this time.

Agreed Pratumnak and Jomtien are nicer in the day than Pattaya. I just rarely find anyone I want to barfine. Wongamat has arguably the best beach and hotels. I would take The Palm, or Cape Dara, seaview, jacuzzi on your balcony, over the Hilton.

I enjoyed Jomtien before, there used to be hundreds of freelancers on the beach and younger women. This week I have been to over a hundred bars around Jomtien. 90% of the women seem over 40. Ugly women will ask for 2 k ST. It was 1 am, I took one of the rare ones in their twenties with a cute face and a trashed body, she asked for 2 k, I gave her 1 k. There are some bars with good live music and it can be good for a pub crawl, or a place to take a woman to play pool. Unless you like women over 40 I can't recommend it.

Maybe I should clarify, I would be going to Soi 6, LK Metro, and WS for my entertainment, possibly twice a day (daytime action and night), and not likely within Jomtien area. I went to Cambodia on a bus from a visa company I happened to see. The cost was 3200 baht though the guy sitting next to me said he only paid 2600 baht. Bus picked me up at 5:30 and I was back at my hotel by 3 pm. We stopped halfway there for bathroom break and half way back for lunch. I was told I needed two passport photos but no one took them so I didn't need, who knows if other people did. All I did when I got to Cambodia was stand in whatever line I was told to and then went to next line. I didn't time how long I was there but I'd guess about an hour.

My personal stuff is I left thailand for a week after being here a month and got first extension that way and the second extension by going to immigration office. This is my 3rd extension.

I reached Pattaya last night, went straight to walking street. It has certainly changed, the huge number of weed dispensaries and shops catering to Indians are an interesting change. Anyways, I didn't feel like staying there long.

I asked a bike taxi to take me to Soi 6. Soi 6 seems more worth my time. I had 2 drinks each at least 3 bars where the girls totally ignored me. They still ignore Indians, nothing has changed. At the 4th and 5th bars the girls were nice and asked if I want to take them out. I bar fined a girl Fai, she quoted 2. 5 k for LT and bar fine 0. 4 k I agreed. So this will be my first trip to Thailand. I am choosing Pattaya to go to. I am going in November for my birthday, but I am also bringing my dad down with me since he is retiring this year. (My present to him). This will be his first trip out of country to do something like this. I been to many countries, and know the type of places that I like.

I already been doing my research on here, and been reading a lot. Which I am grateful what y'all post. I am already on Tinder, Thai Cupid, and another site trying to set things up.

I am an Airbnb man, and thinking about getting a Villa for me and my dad while we are there. This way I can just have 5- 6 women there at all time. Three for me and the rest for my dad.

I'm not Indian so can't tell you first hand but it all depends on the bar and the girls in the bar. I usually get attention in soi 6 bars but if I walk in past a bunch of girls and just sit there and order a drink chances are no girls that I walked by will approach me. If you see someone you like at the front grab them as you walk in and ask them for a drink. Girls appreciate that she was chosen her over her peers. If you didn't see a girl you liked at the front not sure why a guy would choose that bar to buy a drink at. Now if the girl doesn't follow you and you have waived her to follow you in to the bar they are ignoring you no matter what race you may be. She just saved you time and money.

I did have a similar episode where a girl drank way to much and just blacked out drunk. Her friend had to carry her home. The next day I ducked into to the bar as part of a wider pub crawl and she apologised profusely for ruining my night. Long story short, I bar fined her again on the condition that she stick to sodas and she well and truely rocked my world as penance.

Just something to consider.
