I've seen another fight with Russians the other night here in Paton. Opposed to the Tuk-tuk assholes. The Russian were well built, but not huge. I have to say they stood some rounds without too much fuss. The Thais were 10-15 and they came forward in clusters but without delivering any real blow, the Russian dealt quite well. The only mistake they did was not to keep shoulders to wall, because the coward Thais attacked by behind too. One bearded motherfucker come with a broomstick, another with a flying kick that really did not shook the Russian too much. At the end one or two pigs pigs showed up and were yelled to the Russians, one of them had a bruised cheek but that was pretty much it. To reinforce his authority the Thai pig was stomping on a water bottle, without even managing to break it. Hilarious.
I think that Thai men from the stree know very well that unless they are true fighters or attack in group, a reasonably fit falang can beat their ass. From there their cowardliness.

I went to the Tourist Police afterwards. They told me:
1. The big Iranian / Arab was a conman and was NOT a cop. This is a SCAM. And all the cops are in on it. A cop should have an I'd card but this guy did not. Impersonating a police officer is a big crime but in Thailand the cops are in on it.
2. DO NOT USE THE JET SKIS under any circumstances. They have all imaginable scams on.
3. The Tourist police number is 1155 but 038. 410044 is better.
Really, the Tourist Police are not much use. The best thing is not to use anything to do with the water as they are major scamsters. That is what the German tourist cop told me.
The original other argument was between the Russians and the deck chair lady with the Yank stirring the shit for his own sick reasons. The Thais wait for their moment to attack and the two Thai guys were well built. A full on punch and boots from behind would hurt anyone and they did damage. The Rusisans were not well built guys or scrappers.
Another scam is the lady smashes your TV and the hotel pay her 1000 baht and hcarge you 10, 000 for the 1, 500 bt TV.
Ladyboy update: The ladyboy got lots of customers. She and another got two young British tourists and walked from Royal Gala to Central Road on Beach Road with them with everyone, Thais, young Russian babes, laughing at them. Lots of guys obviously opt for the ladyboys who are more full on sellers.

Not even baton and handcuffs. Also I doubt they have powers to search and detain upon simple suspicion.
My understanding is that in Thailand a Citizen's arrest is legal, so they, just like anybody else, can detain a criminal in flagrancy only.
What I don't doubt is that among Thai cops there are honest and just elements, that deserve to be called Officers.
But forget the FPVs. A lot of them seem to be just pathetic wannabes, and of course they have absolutely no legal standing or authority. Again I don't agree. I saw few of these yesterday here in Paton. Unlike Farang "cops", they are just young people willing to play a positive role. They were standing on Bangla road observing people walking around. Supposes two foreigners get in a fight, or even a pesky LB, they can at least witness who started it, as it seems that is an important detail here.

Their powers of arrest have always been a bit vague. They've gotten credit for various arrests of ATM scammers etc, though actually probably in conjunction with regular cops. Anyhow no Thai seems to doubt their authority, and that makes them pretty effective when they want to be. I'd tried all kinds of things to get a refund out of a sleazy travel agent (AW on Suk 11) , including letters from a lawyer, but in the end all it took was one tourist cop walking in with me. He was a 20-year veteran of the regular police and nobody ever told him he wasn't a real cop.
As far as FPVs, OK, they're not all wankers even in Pattaya and no doubt some are nice helpful people, but some of them take themselves WAY too seriously.

I actually like Phuket a lot. The beach is much better than Pattaya. It is less crowded and a little more low key in my opinion. Also, there is plenty of pussy there. Bangla St. And probably more MP's concentrated in a small area than any other place. It may be a little higher priced, but not that much.

Actually, most girls who are working in tourist-oriented venues in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui (etc.) are not deemed as attractive by the locals and would not dare to try their luck in the Thai-oriented places. You don't find many mothers, fat, old, dark-skinned girls in Thai-oriented P4P places.
What is true is that, on average, the prostitutes working in a tourist-oriented place are usually better performers than those working in places patronized by the locals. For instance, it's quite common to get a good BBBJ from a Pattaya-based provider, while it's not often the case from a girl working in a local brothel upcountry.
The girls working in Thai-oriented venues usually don't speak any English. Most of them are already earning good money (by Thai standards), so, they don't have the need to go work elsewhere. I am guessing that you have invested in a condo or in some business in Phuket (or intend to do so) to promote this place like you do.
Anyway, speaking about entry level and high-end prices is irrelevant, as it does not reflect much the differences in prices on average. I don't doubt that one can find super-cheap or very expensive accommodations in both places. But on average, for similar quality in a comparable location (near the action, for instance) , one has usually to pay about 33-50% more in Phuket than in Pattaya. It's logical, because more accommodations are available in Pattaya, therefore, the market prices are (on average) lower than in Phuket.
Call me a cheap Charlie if you wish, but on average, I pay less than you in Pattaya (for instance, many decent streetwalkers can be had for 500 baht ST, only 300 baht for the older ones, and the "Bush ladies" are even cheaper as it as been reported by several ISG members earlier in this thread). I've never paid more than 1500 LT for a girl met in a disco (in my own experience, many disco freelancers are quite happy with only 1000 baht LT in Pattaya).
I won't comment about the prices of "high end girls", as it depends on many variables (and mostly on how much the "high end girl" believes that the customer is willing to pay).

I just gave my humble (and unbiased, I believe) opinion about what I have observed, so, there is no need to be upset. You seem to enjoy being in Phuket, and that's great. As I said, I have no doubt that you can get some very good deals there, but on average, Pattaya is cheaper (but once again, Phuket is a more pleasant location).

I am not a regular visitor to Pattaya but, when I am there, my preference one evening may well be a quiet bar with good music and pleasant company and, the next night may be for something loud, raucous and rather more 'down and dirty! '
All the bars you have mentioned CAN be fun, (on a good night.) Windmill is one of my regular haunts when I am looking for an hour or two of raunchy fun. Personally I have never found Airport to be so enjoyable (but I'm sure that you will find plenty of guys to disagree with me on that!) but I have had a few good nights over the years in Baccara!
There is no substitute for personal, on the night research. Even the smallest, quietest and emptiest, out of the way bar can, on occasions, be the source of good fun and a GREAT playmate for a few hours.
After all, if there was ONE bar which was always 'the best' then we would ALL be there EVERY night wouldn't we?
Sorry to be so negative but even if you get a recommendation for a specific bar (or girl) then that is ONLY valid for one guy on one night and YMMV (a lot!)
All I can tell you is that there are SO MANY bars in Pattaya that you should have no problem in finding a few that suit YOU and your mood that night.
Just try a few. You will find that there is something to suit EVERYONE!

I just returned from another great trip in the LOS. The last couple of trips, I just skipped Bangkok and hightailed it to Pattaya. There is a reason that this was my 3rd trip within a year; the multiple venues that Pattaya has to offer:
Open air bars. Silly games and watching kick boxing.
Short time bars. Located pretty much everywhere.
Blow job bars. Such as Pump Station.
Massage places.
Go Go bars. A plenty.
Down & dirty clubs. D / D, Windmill, X-Zone, & Babydolls.
Freelancers- Coconut Bar, Beer Garden, Discos, Walking Street and some even gents enjoy the woods.
Plus, the beach is an added extra which I enjoy, not Pattaya, but Jomtiem for me.
If I missed any venues, please feel free to chime in.
I also feel that safety is never a concern. I have been going to Pattaya since 1978 and never had a single problem. Sure, there are a few drunks running around, but Pattaya is so big, they are easy to avoid.
Flight: I now fly directly from LAX to Bangkok via Thai Airways. It does cost a bit more, but no 2-4 hours layovers, so I get more time on the ground. 17 hours over and 14 back. Good food and great service.
Hotel: I will not stay anywhere besides the Penthouse. Great staff, wacked out rooms designed for sex, and 24 hour room service. See report in PH forum for more.
Clubs:
X-Zone.
I spent time in X-Zone every night because I know Mamasan, the girls, and the staff; love the place. Not sure about low season. They should have something in the low season; Pattaya has a lot of people.

Three years ago I was in Pattaya and was looking for the same thing. It wasn't easy. Eventually I found that there is a big stadium outside town. I got there by motorbike taxi and it took about ten or fifteen minutes driving on the highway outside town. Haven't a clue where I was, but I was taken on a detour to somewhere off the South road first. The driver didn't know where to go and had to ask.
Cost was 1, 000 baht for the Muay Thai boxing and it included a multitude of matches, starting with the kids and moving up to the main event. Probably not advisable to go too early. Good Muay Thai in Koh Samui as well. Now two stadia and none of your 'for tourist' crap. Once saw a Brit beat the living shit out of the local champ. Certainly not often you see that happen. Otherwise in Samui you can get the Bangkok regional champ against the local champ, sparks fly and it's a grudge match.
Muay Thai (proper) is available in Pattaya, but you have to make sure that you are going to the right place.

So took my first trip to Thailand last week. (I usually travel in Latin and South America and parts of Europe). I stayed in Pattaya for a week.
I went during their New Year celebrations. I figured it would be over by April 15 or 16. So I arrived on the 16th. But the festivities ended up going on until April 19. So walking down the streets in Pattaya during this time means getting soaked with water. Its their tradition to have water guns and squirt / soak passers by. Everyone was doing it everywhere, including the tourists. Its all good fun, but I wished it only lasted one day!
Pattaya itself is basically a party city with beach. Its somewhat crazy. There literally hundreds of bar-hotels (and some with restaurants). All these bars have girls that are available. In addition there's all the Go-Go bars in the Walking district area and the area around Areca hotel. There's probably more go-go bars, but I had enough fun in these two areas and not enough time to explore other parts.
There's also lots of guys from northern Europe here on extended holiday stays of 1-3 months or retired. Came across several of them in the bars during the day and had good converstaions with them.
Beers prices are fairly cheap at $2 (60-70 Baht) at most bars and in the Go-Go bars around $3-4. Drinks for ladies seems to be set at around $4 everywhere.
Food was also cheap. Most decent meals were costing me around $5-7 including a non-alcoholic drink. Breakfast was included in my hotel, but otherwise costs around $4.
I did some research on this forum first and decided to stay at Penthouse and booked for 2 nights. I think it was a mistake and I am so glad I only booked 2 nights. They have a policy of you paying up front and in the event you change your mind and want to leave earlier. Well tough luck.
The things I didn't like about the Penthouse was that the room is "over sexed". Its more like a room you rent by the hour. The bed and covers are also somewhat run down and dated. In general the furnishings aren't that great in the room. Given that your paying $60-70 in Pattaya. The shower in the bathroom isn't separted, so its all one big room and so when you take a shower, water gets everywhere. I asked if all the room showers were like this, and yes there are unless you get the onese with Jacuzzi (which cost more) in them. The room I had alos had very poor lighting and hardly any natural lighting.
The biggest con about the Penthouse was go-go bar assoicated with the hotel, Kittens, which is right next door. Well 2/3 of the dancers there are lady boys! And the penthouse is located right in BoysTown. Also on the tv there are 3 porn channels, but two of them are gay! Not sure why these facts weren't posted about this hotel in the forum. I wouldn't recommend staying here. For a hotel that's supposed to cater to us straight guys and advertises here on ISG. Why such a gay theme to the hotel! I have nothing against gays, but I don't want it in my face either.
The one thing I did like about the Penthouse was having all those wall sized mirrors in the room. Pretty much on 3 sides of the room and a wall sized one in the bathroom. So when having sex with the girl in the room, looking at her in the mirrors was kind of a pleasant turn on for me. Still I would not return to the Penthouse. Unless they fixed up the bathroom, got new bedding in there, and ensured only girl dancers in the go-go bar.
I ended up moving out of Penthouse and staying at a nearby bar-hotel-restaurant. They have about 10 rooms. I took one of the large rooms for 800 Baht ($27) a night. It was a good sized room, tiled floors, decent basic furnishings. There seem to be literally dozens of places like this in Pattaya. Probably worth the effort to take one afternoon off and go visit a bunch of hotels and find one that you like. I looked at few hotels (some 4 stars as well) before deciding on this one. For my last 2 nights I decided to upgrade and stayed at Bayview Residence. All the places I looked at have no girl (joiner) fees and only asked for her I'd to be left at the front desk. Only one hotel charged a fee if you brought more than one girl. So basically if you find yourself paying a joiner fee in Pattaya your needlessy wasting your money.
I ended up basically partying every night until around 4-5am. Getting up around 1pm or so. Then doing the same again! Was paying around 1000-1500 Baht for a girl for around 3 hours. Only once I took a girl for all night. Cost 2000. Bar fines were anywhere from 300-600 Baht. Never had problems with the girls back in my room. Always got BBBJ's, good massages, good sex. Only once was there an issue. Took one of the bartending girls from the Walking district area back to my room around 3am. Still had to pay the bar fine. 300. Got to my room and she was pretty much giving me attitude from the start. After 30mins of this I said if she didn't change I wasnt going to pay her. Well she was pissed off at this, but got dressed and left with no money.
In term of places to go. Its everywhere. The Go-GO bars in Walking district are prettly much all the same. They literally have dozens of girls dancing, all of them are pretty much good looking, mostly all 7-8's. Bottle beers are 120 Baht. Same price for drinks for girls. Draft beer is 60. The clubs stay open until 3am. The Walking dristict was always packed full of toursits. Didn't think it would be as crowded as it was for this time of year. The area around Areca hotel also has lots of go-go clubs and in general a good scene going on. If I go back to Pattaya, I will very likely end up staying at this hotel. Soi 7 and 8 also has tons of bars with girls. Never made it out to Soi 6. But I heard you can get BJ's there on SOi 6 while having your drink.
In terms of massage parlours. Looks like there are 2 places that have the monopoly. All the taxi guys and guys hustling you on the street mention only these two places. If you ask if there are others, these guys claim that there are not. These two places are called Honey and Rasputin. I went to both to get a look. Both are very classy setup. The girls are one side, behind a glass partition, sitting down. You can see them, they can see you, but you can't talk to them. The girls are all good looking. The girls are divided into different colours. The colour dictates the price. It either 1800 or 2500 for 1. 5 hours. The rooms are very nice, each has a large bathtub shower, large nice bed, large screen tv. All kinds fo soaps, and moistuizers. Very clean, there's staff up here as well for towels, drinks etc. I took advantage once. A girl from Honey for 2500. Got a great body on body massage in the bathtub. She only did CBJ. But it was great one at that. She was telling me each girl is different and she didn't do BBBJ. But then again I didn't offer her more money and she was doing a good job with the CBJ I didn't care. The sex was good too. Overall I had a very postive experience. But then again for 2500 here in Pattaya you should. These two places are open from noon to midnight.
I ended up finding another massage place. Called something like Teen Dream Girls massage. Its in the same area as Kiss, Office, Submarine, etc go-go bars. Just down 2 more blocks. Not as fancy a setup as Honey. The rates are for 1, 1.5 or 2 hours. Around 500-900 Baht. But that price only includes the room, massage and handjob. For anything else with the girl you have to negotiate with her. I took a girl once. Was giving a good message and handjob, but her clothes didn't come off. She was asking for 1000 more just for a BBBJ, no sex. For sex wanted another 500. WTF. So anyways paid another 1000 for the BBBJ. For these prices, the Honey club is way better. I'm sure there's a lot more (cheaper) massage parlours out there.
There's also lots of normal Thai massage parlours everywhere. These are great. For about 200 Baht you get a 1 hour lower leg and foot massage or back and shoulder massage. There's literally hundreds of these places all over the place. In fact you can be relaxing on the beach in one of those chairs, and there's these massage girls walking about giving foot massages.
Finally, one piece of informational story. It was late one night, around 2:30am. I ended up at the bars right before entering Walking district. I walked around and spotted this one cute girl sitting by herself talking with the staff. We made eye contact. So approached her. Talked with her for a bit. Bought her a drink. She's 20 years old, very bubbly. Deciced to take her back to my room. Bar fine was 300. And she asked for 1000 for 2-3 hours. I agreed. Had a great time with her. Did everything, starting with a shower together. We got to talking. Turns out she works in the day at the Honey massage parlour. Says she makes around 50K Baht a month and takes care of all her family including parents. She doesn't have a kid. Sometimes she has sex up to 5-6 times a day at Honey. In contrast the go-go dancers on Walking street make around 8K-10K Baht a month. But thats just on tips, etc no sex, if they go for sex thats extra for them.
My total cost for a 7 night trip (excluding airfare) was $1700. Includes hotel, food, drinks, bar fines, girls, taxi's (including taxi's to and from airport) , and even some shorts, tshirts I picked up. Had about 12 girls over these 7 days.
For 2, 000 baht, a Devil's Den girl will come to your room for 90 minutes. This isn't really that much more than arranging a ST takeout from a gogo. For example, I took a fox out of Champagne to the Pasadena Lodge and paid 1, 000 baht to the lady and a 550 baht bar fine, for a total of 1, 550 baht, not including the bill for a couple of drinks.
Having said this, the Den is somewhat overpriced! I definitely enjoyed hooking up with Maggie and Taylor, both hot and highly recommended (but no anal). Wow now thats surprising 2000 baht only because I paid 3500 4500 and 4000 so either I'm too ugly or I got overcharged like we always do if they find us to be newbies my fault but good to know you got it for 2000 baht but the primary issue is that the girls don't perform as promised either.
Still ill give it one last try if not just stick to the gogos as I don't like getting overcharged.

For three days we patrolled the streets drenching people and being drenched. It's really strange that people walk around Pattaya at this time of year and don't know what to expect. Many times we saw guys asking not to be sprayed and this only encouraged the locals to drench them even more. So funny. This old German, he must have been about 70, stood on the second road around the soi 8 area even had his gun. A young Russian couple said no no and he just said ya ya and drenched them. Brilliant. The local police got a bit heavy. At one point they took a couple of our spray guns. Once we understood this the girls helped us and took the guns from us whenever the police were nearby. The 19th was a fantastic day. The whole city rocked and we rocked with them. Many of the girls were drunk and three of our group all managed short times and paid nothing. That's what they said anyway. Maybe they will write something.
As for the Penthouse. What a fantastic place. We were let down with our original accommodation and were lucky to get in. We didn't get exactly the types of rooms we wanted and we had to keep changing. We did have a balcony overlooking the street and we made the most of this to drench people as they walked by. Some old guy even complained to reception and we had a warning. We then had another call to tell us to carry on. They were very understanding and as long as we kept water out of the hotel they didn't mind. We have already booked our rooms for next year. We all loved the set up and strong sexual vibes. It's not a gay hotel. It just caters for everyone and most of the people we met were heterosexual and had girls with them. The location is great and not quite in Boys Town. Sure we saw a few ladyboys but so what. This is Pattaya and they are everywhere.

From what I've seen, DD has one of the least covert operations in Pattaya. Pics and videos of the girls are readily available on their site. Price list right there. And they have a live webcam. The only way they could be more open would be to stream the girls actually servicing the customers.

I have found that early December just before the peak of high season they are much more eager to be barfined.
Low season also has its advantages for barfining as long as you can tolerate the high humidity and some rain.
Me and my friends thought it was the mamasans' idea, since the girls are bound to make more money for the bar attracting beer drinkers and getting ladydrinks than being barfined. This happened with several girls and at several bars in the first "Rolling Stones" beer-bar complex to right on walking street.Very little happens by chance at most well-run Thai 'entertainment' bars. The management has staff meetings, drink quotas, barfine incentives, etc, to make the club as much money as possible. Only then does the lady have an opportunity to make her own little "tip" outside the bar.
If a bargirl indicates for any reason that she does not want to go with a particular punter, this is a pretty good indication of how a 'forced' liaison will play out. Best advice is to just move on and find a different, more willing, playmate.
Heck, there's literally thousands upon thousand of Pattaya bargirls working in high season. You can't shake a stick without whacking one on her tush!

Look on the Agoda website for a room, I stayed at the Nova Platinum for 1200bt before and it is nice, new. There are many streets to explore there, nave fun.

In the middle of June I have about 1 week's holiday I was thinking to stay maybe in Bangkok maybe I Pattaya and I am traveling alone. What do you think it is the best plan? To stay in either of these places for 1 week or to split between them somehow? I have been to Bangkok 3-4 times and I know places pretty well but in Pattaya I was only 1 short visit.
I know in BKK if I book a hotel in Sukhumvit then everything is near but I don't know Pattaya. I think when I was there 1 night the hotel was in soi 8. Is it a walking distance from there to soi 6? I don't like to rent a motorbike. Any other ideas how to spend a holiday? Everything in Pattaya far? Of course it is my choice but I appreciate advice. Are there better gogos in walking street than in Cowboy / Nana? At least I think if you have ST the prices are much lower in Pattaya these days. I just look to relax, have a few beers, visit gogos, chat with some girls and have many ST. If you come in Thailand mainly for the P4P scene, I would recommend to stay a bit more in Pattaya than in Bangkok (you can end your sojourn in Bangkok and stay there for the last 3 or 4 days, for instance).
In Pattaya, Soi 6 is near Soi 8 (about five minutes by walk, unless you are stopped on your way by the local girls, of course!). Many things are very near, but if you don't like to walk, you can use the local Songthaew (baht bus). It's cheap and not difficult to use, especially to go from Soi 6 to Walking Street (just take one at the junction with Beach Road). On the way back, just take one on Second Road, for instance.

Anyway, the trip does not last long (about 90 minutes usually, and less than 2 hours in most cases) , so, it's better IMHO to be patient and to wait until you are in Pattaya to choose your playmates among thousands of girls: with the money that you are going to save on this trip, you may have several awesome threesomes, foursomes (etc.) in Pattaya!True, but in this case, regardless of whether you can afford it, I guess it isn't about "service / price", it's about the experience of doing something very out of the ordinary even for ordinary mongers.

From what I've seen, DD has one of the least covert operations in Pattaya. Pics and videos of the girls are readily available on their site. Price list right there. And they have a live webcam. The only way they could be more open would be to stream the girls actually servicing the customers.90 mins.

All the small shacks on the street offering tourist services will offer transportation from Pattaya to the airport or Bangkok.
The price for a meter taxi will be 800 plus 2 tolls (60 or 70 total) to the airport; it was approx 900 something baht to Bangkok (half an hour extra to Sukhumvit). The camry option will be a little more expensive; the camry will be slightly larger.
I would recommend the tourist agency shack in front of the LEK hotel. They haven't screwed me yet; also because that one has high volume, they will sometimes give you a camry when you order a meter taxi. Other ones might say that you have to pay for a camry because all the meter taxis are gone. Probably should arrange for the taxi the previous night.
Getting a taxi from Bangkok Sukhumvit to Pattaya is slightly more trickier. The hotel can get you a taxi, but they probably will add a hefty premium.
I would just negotiate with any meter taxi on the street. Just say,"Pattaya; 1000 baht; you pay the toll" (Wondering how hard it is to get that price; you can get the taxi for 1000 from the airport, but Sukhumvit is about 30 or 40 minutes further away). There will be at least 2 tolls to Pattaya (60 or 70 total) ; from Sukhumvit, you can take 2 extra tolls to save a few minutes, but I would just go south on Sukhumvit to avoid those 2 extra tolls (taxi will definitely do this if you negotiate that he pays for the toll).
Note that the meter taxis has LNG; they won't have much trunk space due to the LNG tank.

On some sukh sois some drivers have been standing and asking me "where are you going sir, airport? Pattaya?" so you can just negotiate a price (pattaya tow ry, ning pan ok? or something like that in thai).
But next time I might just get a shared minivan for 150 thb. There are booths that are selling tickets to these daily minivans to pattaya. Prices outside are often quoted in thai, I think that transportation is directed at locals, thats why you dont pay a tourist price, only 150 baht to pattaya and same price back. Sometimes if lucky you end up sitting next to a young thai girl in the back seat :)

Anyhow just my opinion and each one his ownThere are 2 types of expenditure in Pattaya: girls and everything else. For the latter it is a time / convenience vs cost equation. So I always get a taxi to Pattaya because it is fast and comfortable. For a hotel I aim to spend no more than 1500 Bht per night, but for a good room. Any more is just a waste of money for me, any less then the room may be too squalid. Food I buy on the street or in cheap restaurants because that's what I like. I look for the happy hour deals or the cheap drink offers because that works for me.
With the girls I have a different set of rules, but happy to spend whatever is required for the experience. So one night with a DD girl, followed by one night with a FL, followed by Soi 6 girl, etc. I don't normally pay top dollar for the gogo girls because in my limited experience it hasn't been worth it.

Do not bother with these. Barfines are always inflated to around 1000 baht and the girls are asking for "silly money" as one retired expat once told me. Girls at these bars are mostly there to dance and drink. Many do not want to be barfined at all. If you want to have sex with a go-go girl, there is plenty of talent in Heaven Above, Living Dolls, Baby Dolls, etc. I have negotiated to 1000 for ST and 1500 LT in the past at these.
And never the girl's fee upfront. This isn't Germany or Amsterdam. In Bangkok some mamasans will present the punter with a laminated sign with ST and LT prices on it. Duly ignored.

Just a few unusual observations from a few hours in Pattaya GoGos last night.
While I was at Windmill, all the lights came on and the place filled with Police. The girls said there was problems with liquor licensing and also girls who were under 20. They said that only girls over 20 were allowed to 'entertain' – dunno on that. Anyhow off goes the owner and his hot blonde Thai wife for a long discussion upstairs with the police. Police still there when I left at about 1130.
Passed by Beach Club and was talking to a couple of girls when the place goes into an uproar with the arrival of a big party of Japanese men and women. The girls were quickly to desert me and then a extraordinary deluge of ping pong and other plastic balls started – not the little buckets that you usually see but many large trash cans full of balls. The girls said he spent 50K baht the night before on balls and drinks etc. The girls were using the front of my shirt and anywhere they could to stuff balls that they had caught – many were showing cuts and bruises on their knees (maybe from something other than fighting for ping pong balls!) and one of the girls I was talking to got balls worth 2000 baht. Just a few unusual observations from a few hours in Pattaya GoGos last night.
While I was at Windmill, all the lights came on and the place filled with Police. The girls said there was problems with liquor licensing and also girls who were under 20. They said that only girls over 20 were allowed to 'entertain' – dunno on that. Anyhow off goes the owner and his hot blonde Thai wife for a long discussion upstairs with the police. Police still there when I left at about 1130.
Passed by Beach Club and was talking to a couple of girls when the place goes into an uproar with the arrival of a big party of Japanese men and women. The girls were quickly to desert me and then a extraordinary deluge of ping pong and other plastic balls started – not the little buckets that you usually see but many large trash cans full of balls. The girls said he spent 50K baht the night before on balls and drinks etc. The girls were using the front of my shirt and anywhere they could to stuff balls that they had caught – many were showing cuts and bruises on their knees (maybe from something other than fighting for ping pong balls!) and one of the girls I was talking to got balls worth 2000 baht. That gives you and idea of what it was like. Can't compete with that! Budda, and many others, know you place when the big spenders are in town.
Six of us headed into Pattaya for the New Year Celebrations and we had an absolute blast. Most of us knew what to expect and we all bought spray guns. For three days we patrolled the streets drenching people and being drenched. It's really strange that people walk around Pattaya at this time of year and don't know what to expect. Many times we saw guys asking not to be sprayed and this only encouraged the locals to drench them even more. So funny. This old German, he must have been about 70, stood on the second road around the soi 8 area even had his gun. A young Russian couple said no no and he just said ya ya and drenched them. Brilliant. The local police got a bit heavy. At one point they took a couple of our spray guns. Once we understood this the girls helped us and took the guns from us whenever the police were nearby. The 19th was a fantastic day. The whole city rocked and we rocked with them. Many of the girls were drunk and three of our group all managed short times and paid nothing. That's what they said anyway. Maybe they will write something.
As for the Penthouse. What a fantastic place. We were let down with our original accommodation and were lucky to get in. We didn't get exactly the types of rooms we wanted and we had to keep changing. We did have a balcony overlooking the street and we made the most of this to drench people as they walked by. Some old guy even complained to reception and we had a warning. We then had another call to tell us to carry on. They were very understanding and as long as we kept water out of the hotel they didn't mind. We have already booked our rooms for next year. We all loved the set up and strong sexual vibes. It's not a gay hotel. It just caters for everyone and most of the people we met were heterosexual and had girls with them. The location is great and not quite in Boys Town. Sure we saw a few ladyboys but so what. This is Pattaya and they are everywhere. Posted this in the wrong place before.

Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with " respect " whether you are in Pattaya or anywhere else in the world. I think it has to do with " having a brain ", like Dreamer said the place is fill with girls everywhere and you put yourself in the position of approaching another person women P4P or not just because you got to have the toy from the cracker jack box?

I remember a couple of years ago I was sat in tom beer bar on soi diana. There was a Aussie guy there talking to one of the bar girls and getting on quite well, he fixed his date for the night. After about 20 mins another guy came to the bar who I think was also an Aussie and intervened with the couple, he started a little bit of an argument then began bargaining. The thing was he had been with the girl the night before and had come back for her again, he was a bit pissed she was going to go with another punter, in the end he offered the guy 3000 baht to walk away without her.
Not sure how much the first guy had agreed to pay the girl but he refused the 3000 offered and bar fined her and the interloper walked away looking pissed off. The only person left with any respect in this situation was the bar girl and me who was pissing my sides with laughter.

So took my first trip to Thailand last week. (I usually travel in Latin and South America and parts of Europe). I stayed in Pattaya for a week.
I went during their New Year celebrations. I figured it would be over by April 15 or 16. So I arrived on the 16th. But the festivities ended up going on until April 19. So walking down the streets in Pattaya during this time means getting soaked with water. Its their tradition to have water guns and squirt / soak passers by. Everyone was doing it everywhere, including the tourists. Its all good fun, but I wished it only lasted one day!
Pattaya itself is basically a party city with beach. Its somewhat crazy. There literally hundreds of bar-hotels (and some with restaurants). All these bars have girls that are available. In addition there's all the Go-Go bars in the Walking district area and the area around Areca hotel. There's probably more go-go bars, but I had enough fun in these two areas and not enough time to explore other parts.
There's also lots of guys from northern Europe here on extended holiday stays of 1-3 months or retired. Came across several of them in the bars during the day and had good converstaions with them.
Beers prices are fairly cheap at $2 (60-70 Baht) at most bars and in the Go-Go bars around $3-4. Drinks for ladies seems to be set at around $4 everywhere.
Food was also cheap. Most decent meals were costing me around $5-7 including a non-alcoholic drink. Breakfast was included in my hotel, but otherwise costs around $4.
I did some research on this forum first and decided to stay at Penthouse and booked for 2 nights. I think it was a mistake and I am so glad I only booked 2 nights. They have a policy of you paying up front and in the event you change your mind and want to leave earlier. Well tough luck.
The things I didn't like about the Penthouse was that the room is "over sexed". Its more like a room you rent by the hour. The bed and covers are also somewhat run down and dated. In general the furnishings aren't that great in the room. Given that your paying $60-70 in Pattaya. The shower in the bathroom isn't separted, so its all one big room and so when you take a shower, water gets everywhere. I asked if all the room showers were like this, and yes there are unless you get the onese with Jacuzzi (which cost more) in them. The room I had alos had very poor lighting and hardly any natural lighting.
The biggest con about the Penthouse was go-go bar assoicated with the hotel, Kittens, which is right next door. Well 2/3 of the dancers there are lady boys! And the penthouse is located right in BoysTown. Also on the tv there are 3 porn channels, but two of them are gay! Not sure why these facts weren't posted about this hotel in the forum. I wouldn't recommend staying here. For a hotel that's supposed to cater to us straight guys and advertises here on ISG. Why such a gay theme to the hotel! I have nothing against gays, but I don't want it in my face either.
The one thing I did like about the Penthouse was having all those wall sized mirrors in the room. Pretty much on 3 sides of the room and a wall sized one in the bathroom. So when having sex with the girl in the room, looking at her in the mirrors was kind of a pleasant turn on for me. Still I would not return to the Penthouse. Unless they fixed up the bathroom, got new bedding in there, and ensured only girl dancers in the go-go bar.
I ended up moving out of Penthouse and staying at a nearby bar-hotel-restaurant. They have about 10 rooms. I took one of the large rooms for 800 Baht ($27) a night. It was a good sized room, tiled floors, decent basic furnishings. There seem to be literally dozens of places like this in Pattaya. Probably worth the effort to take one afternoon off and go visit a bunch of hotels and find one that you like. I looked at few hotels (some 4 stars as well) before deciding on this one. For my last 2 nights I decided to upgrade and stayed at Bayview Residence. All the places I looked at have no girl (joiner) fees and only asked for her I'd to be left at the front desk. Only one hotel charged a fee if you brought more than one girl. So basically if you find yourself paying a joiner fee in Pattaya your needlessy wasting your money.
I ended up basically partying every night until around 4-5am. Getting up around 1pm or so. Then doing the same again! Was paying around 1000-1500 Baht for a girl for around 3 hours. Only once I took a girl for all night. Cost 2000. Bar fines were anywhere from 300-600 Baht. Never had problems with the girls back in my room. Always got BBBJ's, good massages, good sex. Only once was there an issue. Took one of the bartending girls from the Walking district area back to my room around 3am. Still had to pay the bar fine. 300. Got to my room and she was pretty much giving me attitude from the start. After 30mins of this I said if she didn't change I wasnt going to pay her. Well she was pissed off at this, but got dressed and left with no money.
In term of places to go. Its everywhere. The Go-GO bars in Walking district are prettly much all the same. They literally have dozens of girls dancing, all of them are pretty much good looking, mostly all 7-8's. Bottle beers are 120 Baht. Same price for drinks for girls. Draft beer is 60. The clubs stay open until 3am. The Walking dristict was always packed full of toursits. Didn't think it would be as crowded as it was for this time of year. The area around Areca hotel also has lots of go-go clubs and in general a good scene going on. If I go back to Pattaya, I will very likely end up staying at this hotel. Soi 7 and 8 also has tons of bars with girls. Never made it out to Soi 6. But I heard you can get BJ's there on SOi 6 while having your drink.
In terms of massage parlours. Looks like there are 2 places that have the monopoly. All the taxi guys and guys hustling you on the street mention only these two places. If you ask if there are others, these guys claim that there are not. These two places are called Honey and Rasputin. I went to both to get a look. Both are very classy setup. The girls are one side, behind a glass partition, sitting down. You can see them, they can see you, but you can't talk to them. The girls are all good looking. The girls are divided into different colours. The colour dictates the price. It either 1800 or 2500 for 1. 5 hours. The rooms are very nice, each has a large bathtub shower, large nice bed, large screen tv. All kinds fo soaps, and moistuizers. Very clean, there's staff up here as well for towels, drinks etc. I took advantage once. A girl from Honey for 2500. Got a great body on body massage in the bathtub. She only did CBJ. But it was great one at that. She was telling me each girl is different and she didn't do BBBJ. But then again I didn't offer her more money and she was doing a good job with the CBJ I didn't care. The sex was good too. Overall I had a very postive experience. But then again for 2500 here in Pattaya you should. These two places are open from noon to midnight.
I ended up finding another massage place. Called something like Teen Dream Girls massage. Its in the same area as Kiss, Office, Submarine, etc go-go bars. Just down 2 more blocks. Not as fancy a setup as Honey. The rates are for 1, 1.5 or 2 hours. Around 500-900 Baht. But that price only includes the room, massage and handjob. For anything else with the girl you have to negotiate with her. I took a girl once. Was giving a good message and handjob, but her clothes didn't come off. She was asking for 1000 more just for a BBBJ, no sex. For sex wanted another 500. WTF. So anyways paid another 1000 for the BBBJ. For these prices, the Honey club is way better. I'm sure there's a lot more (cheaper) massage parlours out there.
There's also lots of normal Thai massage parlours everywhere. These are great. For about 200 Baht you get a 1 hour lower leg and foot massage or back and shoulder massage. There's literally hundreds of these places all over the place. In fact you can be relaxing on the beach in one of those chairs, and there's these massage girls walking about giving foot massages.
Finally, one piece of informational story. It was late one night, around 2:30am. I ended up at the bars right before entering Walking district. I walked around and spotted this one cute girl sitting by herself talking with the staff. We made eye contact. So approached her. Talked with her for a bit. Bought her a drink. She's 20 years old, very bubbly. Deciced to take her back to my room. Bar fine was 300. And she asked for 1000 for 2-3 hours. I agreed. Had a great time with her. Did everything, starting with a shower together. We got to talking. Turns out she works in the day at the Honey massage parlour. Says she makes around 50K Baht a month and takes care of all her family including parents. She doesn't have a kid. Sometimes she has sex up to 5-6 times a day at Honey. In contrast the go-go dancers on Walking street make around 8K-10K Baht a month. But thats just on tips, etc no sex, if they go for sex thats extra for them.
My total cost for a 7 night trip (excluding airfare) was $1700. Includes hotel, food, drinks, bar fines, girls, taxi's (including taxi's to and from airport) , and even some shorts, tshirts I picked up. Had about 12 girls over these 7 days.Very, very informative. From the girls to the lodging and services info. Excellent.

Just completed my 33rd trip in 16 years to LOS and have a few observations-hopefully helpful to low season mongerers. Best go-gos:What's Up (although barfines are outrageous as are the ST and LT fees) Baccara (An entertainment complex in itself) Airport (Oh so sexy) Champagne (Soi LK Metro but very busy) The talent is hit and miss everywhere else. Be forewarned that Diamond is employing non-barfineable 'coyotes' and a few are very hot. Alcatraz is the only one of the 7 or so new bars over the winter that is really any good. Nice theme and atmosphere. BF'd Ben (No. 314 or 341 I can't remember) here on 2 nights. Adorable and a personality to match. She was 18 years old. Last night I was in Candy Shop with Pipe Layer and I went up to a girl and used a modification of "their" classic line. Whereas the girl always comes up to us and says, "My friend like you." Anyway my massage girl heard her #1 overpaying punter, and decided to open bid 4X the going rate 200K Vs 800'K for for a HJ! And not accept 150K which was the ticket price. So I tipped exactly 1$ and she was pissed, as was I.
Next night, same time same channel, I requested the same girl. Good massage, same stalemate about extras.
Lo and behold same guy came in whinged and heard, and suddenly same sour attitude. This time 50 cent tip and a complaint as being both stupid and insensitive and not focused on the job in hand, or not.

In Pattaya, I shop at beer bars. Never had 1000 LT knocked back, after explaining the rules, and instantly going cold on those that want more. Oddly enough, I think my 'desirability' rose, after a 200bt tip cause girl was not expecting it at all.
That's the lesson. Be cheap, stick to your limits / guns, and that paying more will in no way get you a better service. And if that don't work (in a. Jp place) move on to the next. I think I got respect, not 'you paid a lot. Sucker ' respect. So saying. 3000 by will buy me out. Lots of fish in Pattaya, you don't have to think hard.

I don't usually go for chicks this slim (her bra was 32A whereas I'm more of a 38D guy) but she was just beautiful to me. 37 years old with braces, no kids, and reminded me of a hairstylist that I met off TLL my first time in Pattaya. I don't usually repeat either but this one is well worth it.Good report and excellent work bruh. I don't like the slim types either but their always one or two exceptions every trip. Especially those ones who have some gap action going on or are slightly bow legged. Keep bangin'!

Again, no complaints and the fair was pretty much the same as Mr. T. The boss at Pattaya Taxi is Mr. Virach Songklam. He answers e-mails promptly and dispatches a driver to your location. If you need to coordinate via cell phone, you can call him and he'll speak to the driver (who may not speak much English).
Pattaya Taxi charges 1,000 for the trip from Bangkok to Pattaya or vice versa. That includes tolls. I usually thrown the guy an extra hundred baht. During my most recent trip I drew a Camry for the drive to Pattaya. Very comfortable indeed. On the drive from Pattaya to the airport, I drew a smaller car. Whatever they call a Toyota Corolla. The trunk was too small for my (admittedly massive) suitcase. So the driver put in in the front seat next to him. The back seat was not as roomy as the Camry. But it was fine for one person.
On a related note, last fall I posed the definitive guide for navigating the BKK airport and catching a taxi downtown.

Pattaya Taxi charges 1,000 for the trip from Bangkok to Pattaya or vice versa. That includes tolls.50% of the cabs in and around sukhumvit will do the same run for the same price. Just wave down a taxi and tell him your price. Easy enough.
Hi All. I'm making my first trip to south east Asia, planning to spend 1 week in Pattaya and 1 week in Phillipines (Manila and / or Cebu). I will be working remotely and need a reliable Internet connection. Is this realistic is these places? I'm thinking / hoping the higher-end hotels will have such things. Please advise if otherwise. If I can't work I have to take unpaid vacation which adds more cost to the trip.
2nd main question is this: Is there any issue with trading stocks on the US market from foreign countries. I make a few trades a week using Charles Schwab and Fidelity. I'd like to be able to place trades from these countries and be blocked. I know I can call on phone and place a trade with a representative for $25-33 per trade (vs. $8-10 normally). Anyone have experience with this?

Haven't ever found a hotel even in the range of 900-1500 baht that doesn't have wifi. And have always found it relibale (iei not dropping in an out). Shouldn't be a problem.

1. I have found the internet in both countries readily available and reliable.
2. If you mean you risk to get blocked because of a foreign IP number, get a US VPN for that.

Fellow Forum Members, I just found out that I will need to be in Pattaya for a friend's bachelor party on 30 May 2011 to 2 Jun 2011. The problem is my flight from Malaysia will land in Bangkok International Airport around 6. 55pm. I wanted to book a seat on the BELL bus but their timetable indicated that the last bus leave Bangkok Int Airport for Pattaya at 6pm.
Is there an alternative bus service (similar to BELL where they deliver you to your hotel) that I can consider?

I was walking back on the beach walk at about 3:30 a. M. And a farang man and bar girl were having sex in the water. Or at least I think they were. I thought those huge floodlights that are there now would deter people from doing that but I guess not.Nice, I choose Hotels that have a jacuzzi, expensive but greeeeat.

Thanks for the reports. I'll submit mine upon return. I'm not a expert on computers, I also have a Charles Schwab and Fidelity accounts and although I have access to secure WIFI? I never do any banking on WIFI, instead I take the time to go the Internet shop that I have been using for a number of years. I look for a clean place with updated software protection on their computers to check into my accounts and do transaction. Like C. S. I just log in with my S. S and PW here and view my do my transaction I have never been denied access to my account because I'm here in Thailand. Whenever I'm done I erase everything that I have done?
