Actually, Mr. E, I'm 65 now and haven't noticed any price discrimination against older guys in Pattaya, especially in the go-go bars where the quality girls are found. They appreicate the more seasoned men who don't want to pound the shit out of them every half hour and generally treat them a lot better than younger men.
I don't go to Soi 6 very often because it's awfully difficult to spot a pretty face among the crowds of ordinary and even ugly girls, both old and young, but when I do go there, and find something satisfactory, I'm charged the same 700 baht + 300 for the room as anyone else.
I hope for your sake that you are lucky enough to make it to 65 like me. Believe me, you'll enjoy the girls even more.I've seen Pattaya "bon vivant" Daddy in action. He is one smooth operator who hooks some very pretty young ladies.

I think the age thing depends on the girl's personality. I've seen girls who like old men and just refuse to go with young guys because they don't want to work as hard and have to perform multiple times. On the other hand, some girls don't like to fuck old men and they will refuse to go with someone who is too old as they see that as "too disgusting" (no offense). My favorite pro (who sleeps with me for free) will always say she is already booked if an old dude wants her. She doesn't need the money that badly and would rather pass than do something she doesn't feel like doing.
I guess it also depends of how much you've let yourself go with age, eg if a guy is 80 pounds overweight etc; and whether you are well put together or not.

Sure age got something to do with it. From my experience it could be some girls have a image of you and just don't want to go because of the way you look so they either tell you they are booked later or charge you more. I have one that calls me sometimes and ask me to do her a favor and come down and have a drink with her so that she doesn't have to go with a particular customer.
There are some guys that just don't get it. They wants this and want that for the cheapest price and even what time they actually want it and when you can leave. Unless she is desperate they won't go with you no matter what your age. Sure if a young girl wants to be with a young guy but in the end if she has the eye for you and plans for you to be #1, you better have some $$$$ because in the end it begins and ends with just that!

Sure, some girls don't want to go with older guys. I don't get every girl I want, but there are plenty of stunners who just love an older guy as long as he presents himself well, has a good attitude, and treats them well. I've had more fun with girls in the last 5 years than at any other time in my life. I can't perform as well as I used to in my youth but I can still make the little bunnies explode and they do like that and so do I. I just appreciate them much more now than I ever did before.
I make no demands on them; don't become attached; they know I'm a butterfly, and what ever happens happens. Having read your exceedingly depressing report, with it's emphasis upon cost and expense above all else, it is apparent to me that you had no fun at all, but certainly do live up to your ISG handle. The girls you interacted with must have sensed that as well.
Pity.I had great fun! I was there in July too. Age was not problem. I only added 5 months, and was dressing smartly. And that is a definite yes to pulling in catches. I had a room with a double bed and a single bed. So I could BF. And prowl and BF again. I also had hot soapy numbers spied out and flawless performances by girl with the inlaid diamonds in her excisors (teeth). No matter what, you cannot loose in Pattaya or very hard to do.
When shopping I want to BF my entertainment before midnight, preferably before 10PM. Now that does impact getting LT'ers.

On those days the fireworks / Beach Road activities. And extension. Denuded the bars on 2nd and the surrounding soi's.
Now will that cause them to drop prices. Nooo.
The one problem in Pattaya is buyer remorse. You BF a pretty at 11am, go on the hunt, see a must have 'gogo' girl, do it and come back shagged. Vitamin V does help, but after a few days I need a day of rest. On these days I throw low bids, and either cave and have sex, or take their number. I did a lot of the former, so came back needing a holiday.
Nope, Pattaya is tops, all ages and looks and degrees of drunkedness. But it does mean TIMING is more important than ever.
Whatever the street is on Soi Buk and heading to Hyatt was my happiest hunting ground after LK Metro. I have more and happier reports to make.

The one thing I have not seen there is a huge Japan / Korean influx yet. There are some, but not like the BKK Gogo's now that are 80-90% with inflated prices now. Once they come in major numbers, prices will go way up.

Therefore noone should expect it to be like America or Europe. Racial discrimination of all kinds is widespread and still it is not a problem for most. Being white I am advantaged in many ways but even despite that there are places where outright discrimination is practiced and I never even had a thought of questioning that. That's life. You don't like their social rules, you don't go there. As simple as that.
Even despite all this ANYONE can have plenty of fun in Thailand: Indian, White, African, you name it. There will be enough girls and enough fun for all so no need to whine.

i seem to remember the two tier pricing at many hotels. one price for locals and another for westerners.. ...and it is scandalous the way they rip you off in the tourist attractions. for example, if you are or look indian, it will cost you a few rupees to gain admittance to the taj mahal. if you are foreign it will cost something ridiculous like $50. blatant discrimination. i don't recall any indians arguing on my behalf whilst i was remonstrating with the ticket seller. they think, they're tourists, they have money, they can afford it even though many of the tourists are backpackers traveling on a budget.
i don't agree with this double tier pricing system but i cannot help but think that the shoes on the other foot here. and i suspect that many bars do not like indian customers as maybe they don't 'buy', but like to handle the merchandise, if you know what i mean. it is unfortunate that british indians who will buy drinks, bar fine etc suffer in the crossfire.

I was at the Windmill (Winderjammer?) Club A Go Go last night.
I ordered the happy hour draft beer special. The bartender put half of the old foam beer and half draft! I was sitting right next to the bar.
Disgusting! I was wondering why sometimes the draft beer taste terrible.
Many bars will have happy hour (some the whole night) draft beer specials. When you open a keg, a lot of foam comes out; then soon, it turns into normal looking beer, but it doesn't taste right. In the US, they trash that crap. In the Windmill, and probably other bars also, they don't trash it, but rather they give it to unsuspecting customers.
But I give credit to the waitress and bartender. When I complained, they immediately changed it into a pure draft beer. Obviously, the waitress knew about it.
The White manager heard by complaints, and he came over. He said his name was Phil. I said the beer was half old foam beer. He said his bar doesn't do that. But then I said I just saw him do it. He said he will talk to the bartender. He then left without talking to him. Then the bartender just filled another draft beer with the same ratio. I think the manager saw it. The manager did nothing.

I feel for you all.I doubt it was related to the adventures discussed here, but Silver Star 3, home to a number of young and friendly lovelies, was raided at about 10PM on the 27th when more than twenty plain-clothes cops, male and female came in and took over the place, eventually closing it for the night. All the girls disappeared upstairs seconds before the cops. After about an hour, when it looked like they were checking the IDs of every female in the place, another bunch of higher-up cops, all in nice tan uniforms arrived, press-in-tow and after a brief news conference outside the place, trooped inside. Twenty minutes later, they emerged and there was some congratulatory exchanges between a couple of volunteer tourist cops and the brass. The staff was finally let out near 12:30 am.

It runs east off Soi Buakaow, just north of the intersection of Soi Diana. There is a strange intersection there, with multiple roads intersecting with Soi Buakaow. Various maps give them various names. Soi Chaiyapoon is just north of the Oasis go go. You'll know you have the correct soi when you see the Chow Soy restaurant. If you look carefully at the second photo below, you can just barely see part of the sign for the Barbie Bar on the right side.
As for the claim on some other site that there is no bar fine, I cannot say because I have not patronized the Barbie Bar. That said, I walked past there several times during my holiday in December of 2011 and it usually had a good crowd in the late afternoon and early evening.

your evaluation of soi 6 is basically accurate. the short time rooms vary from bar to bar. some are nicer than others. the better ones are imho nicer than "dingy." as for "quality time in the sack," that depends on what you prefer. if you want to spend hours in bed, shagging, sharing and snuggling, soi 6 is not the place. but if your idea of "quality" is showering with your girl, followed by a bareback blow job, then moving on to multiple positions, finishing with another blow job and launching a load all over her than you've come to the right place.

The street is Soi Chaiyapoon. It runs east off Soi Buakaow, just north of the intersection of Soi Diana. There is a strange intersection there, with multiple roads intersecting with Soi Buakaow. Various maps give them various names. Soi Chaiyapoon is just north of the Oasis go go. You'll know you have the correct soi when you see the Chow Soy restaurant. If you look carefully at the second photo below, you can just barely see part of the sign for the Barbie Bar on the right side.
As for the claim on some other site that there is no bar fine, I cannot say because I have not patronized the Barbie Bar. That said, I walked past there several times during my holiday in December of 2011 and it usually had a good crowd in the late afternoon and early evening.

The rate changes daily so the only way to find out if the airport is dearer or cheaper than the street is to do two transactions in the one day, not worth the bother, all the different banks are within a coule satang of each other. Minimal difference, shoe leather is more expensive.

Hows it going mate? Long time. On walking street there are ATMs everywhere. Opposite the entrance to walking street theres a bank branch you can use if that makes you feel safer. I used a cash card there. Better off not using credit just to be safe IMHO. The rates you get there from the atm is competitive enough. And you can only do 10 000 baht at a time anyway. Not much difference really.
I'll be in Pattaya soon and wanted to know if there's anywhere near walking street where I can find white women, african women, or south american women. Any help much appreciated.

I decided to have an extended break last weekend, after working way too hard and long, so took myself down to Pattaya for the entire weekend. I'm off to Thailand for my first visit shortly and in amongst visits to some of the more flashy and famous bars / clubs, I'd like to seek out some of the really cheap, seedy and degrading elements of the PFP scene. LBMThis whole place is changing, Bar Beers are being demolished all over town and being replaced with hotels. Most of the bars on Second Road from Soi 5 to soi 2 are gone. Seems like a race between new condos and hotels owners to see who will set one up first. Pattaya is ever-changing but not all for the good.

This mayor and City planners are way over there heads. They only know Tourist? They are nearly finished with placing Dolphins on top of poles on Pattaya Nua. They think putting in another lane is going to help with the traffic it will just give the Songthaws another lane to stop what a waste of money like the 125 million they spent on the traffic lights.
I hope they never come over to the darkside, but they do have plans when they are done to do the same for Jomtien.

Now there are short times and there are short times and I would imagine everybody views them differently. For me, maybe slightly more expensive than the basic short time package, you can't beat the Penthouse Hotel. It's a sex mongers paradise with all the bits and pieces thrown in for a good sex experience. You might find girls give a bit more in this type of setting instead of just going through the motions. LBMIt will be a pain in the ass, but part of it I understand is fixing the beach erosion. As you know, there is only about 10 feet of sand along areas of that beach. On the big picture though, once they get it done, more and more families will probably be visiting.

The erosion has been a problem for sometime but the money for the beautification on the boardwalk is separate from the erosion. As I noted their solution is to bring more sand from Rayong. Whether they have a solution for the erosion of the new sand who knows? Aside from the beautification they want to come up with a new plan to limit and control the beach chair vendors. They want all the beach chair to look the same color along with the embrellas.
In fact once they take the portion of the walkway which is the area they have been using to set up the tents for the vendors from time to time is going to be gone. Once the addition car lane is created the jogging path will be off the new lane. So by doing this it will be less space for the tourist to walk and certainly the space to set up tents for vendors to sell their wares to draw the tourist will no longer be available unless they set up on the new car lane?

just checked out this forum, and after having spent my first night in pattaya, thought i would file a report.
i actually had met a girl online and was going to hook up with her in pattaya, as she lives there, but she was not available that day or night. hmmm. so i had to spend my first night in pattaya, alone, on valentine's day. not a good idea.
soooo, i hit the streets to check out the scene, with no real intention of actually getting a girl. i had read online about the pattaya go-go and beer bar scenes, but nothing really prepares you for it.
still, i knew about soi 6, and decided that was the place to go to check out the action. i took a motorbike ride there, and started to walk up and down soi 6 and an adjacent street. at first, i thought i would do nothing, but i was still tired and sore from jet lag and the bus ride from bangkok, so i elected to take someone up on their offer of a massage. actually, i ignored the fat, ugly woman who had called out to me, in favor of a tall, slender girl with a nice body and bad teeth. she gave me a great massage with the obligatory happy ending, and i figured that would satisfy me until at least the next day.

LBMBuilding more lanes, as the last resort to improve traffic flow, is a well known traffic engineering fallacy. All it does is help encourage bigger traffic jams.
I can only imagine with another lane that Reach Road will become even more dangerous for pedestrians to cross. Narrowing the popular pedestrian promenade to accommodate more vehicles seems like a stupid idea for a tourist town that wants to sell its "beach" as an attraction.
Maybe they are just trying to get rid of the "working" girls. Take away all the benches and where will all the riff-raff, (Coconut Bar "hostesses and their assorted "camp followers"), sit and discuss the meaning of life. Just simple Thai logic to make it uncomfortable and they will move on.
In Pattaya, except for a couple of intersections with police boxes, even the most basic traffic management is non-existent. There are methods to manage and control traffic, but unfortunately, Thais have very little clue, and / or willingness to do it right. Riding a motorbike around Pattaya is an "e-ticket" death sport experience.
A few years ago they were considering some type of rail system, but I believe the business community shut it down. A "loop" train with stops at major tourist points would be an interesting addition. Tough for the "mafia" to make any money from it, though, (except for construction contracts).
As it stands today, no matter what they do, if there are more vehicles (cars, motorbikes, tour buses, delivery trucks, baht buses, etc.), the traffic is only going to get worse, a lot worse!

I agree it is going to be a mess! The new lane will be right up to the jogging path so the cement bench and coconut trees will still be there. I can see it now, more buses will now just stop on the left lane and sit. The songthaws now it take two lanes instead of one and that leaves the new lane in the end its gridlock like always.
Regarding the motorbikes, personally I think it is lot safer that driving a car around town. If you learn their habits and just let them past they will just fly by you and let them die.

I had now finally arrived at the agogos of Walking Street. My veritable Holy Grail. I had been waiting months for this. Soi 6 this afternoon was merely a preliminary to more satisfying and eventful concupiscent activities to come. The question at hand is how well I would do on my first night in the agogos on Walking Street. Before arriving in Pattaya I did research on the agogos and learned that they would be far more expensive than freelancers and girls in beer bars. I had the finances and was willing to pay top dollar for top women who were both attractive, pleasant of demeanor and willing to satisfy sexually as well as be sexually satisfied. I had heard that the women in the agogos were quite commercial, which I did not mind per se, so long as they put out sexually, and could be somewhat selective and possessive of an attitude. The selectivity I could surmount on account of the fact that I was in the catbird seat being that I had hundreds of women to choose from in the agogos. My concern was the issue of time. The agogos would start to shut down at 3 pm and I was concerned about having my overtures for bar fines rejected by the more attractive women in the agogos during the early hours of opening as a result of them maximizing on their earnings from lady's drinks, thus closing a key window of opportunity for me to effectuate sexual liaisons between 8 pm and 12 am I was looking to average three to four women a night on this trip. If I could not effectuate any sexual liaisons between the hours of 8 to 12 pm then I would have a difficult time trying to hit that number, thus possibly even pushing me to relegate my hunt to the discos in the 11th hour, which I was adamant about not doing due to the attitudes of the women and the men in the discos. However, much to my surprise and to the contrary of what I had read in the forums about Pattaya, this would not be the case. In fact, they would be actually pushing me out the door, though not on account of my physical attractiveness or sexual expertise (it would not have mattered if I looked like Sir Lancelot and had the staying power of a male lion) , which I wanted it to be and of which exists in every mongers dreams, but rather solely on account of maximizing economic gain by attempting to effectuate multitudinous bar fines. The first agogo that I would go into would be Alcatraz. Previously, I was unable to get the two women I wanted from two different bars on Soi 6 to accompany me back to my hotel on account of the fact they wanted to do only short time in the dilapidated rooms in the bar. I would now see how I would fare in the agogos. As J. Edgar Hoover said, 'You either improve or you deteriorate. When you get to Pattaya, WALK Around. You will see the Real massage places and you will see the MP where HE is available. Soi Honey great place to start.

General Gogos are enclose, BB are open, BJ bars are closed.

Are prepaid cell phones available in Thailand?
You need an unlocked GSM cell phone *PLUS* a SIM card for one of the Thailand carriers. (They all work pretty much the same in Pattaya. There may be differences in coverage out in the sticks.)
You can buy both on the Bay of E before your trip. The advantage in doing so is that you'll know your phone number in advance and you can give it to people who might want to call you. It also makes it easier to hook up with the taxi driver you booked in advance at the airport in Bangkok.
Usually the SIM card comes preloaded with a few hundred baht in credit. To add more, step into any 7-11 and buy a "top up card" for whatever cell phone carrier you have. Once you have the top up card you key a long sequence of numbers into your phone and hit send. Presto! Your credit is topped up.
If you're cheap you can save a few baht by waiting to purchase your cell phone until you arrive in Pattaya. Go to Tukcom, which is on the south side of South Pattaya Road, just west of the intersection with Soi Buakaow. There are literally dozens of vendors selling every conceivable type of cell phone.

Secrets has a loyal fan base, and lots of guys enjoy staying close to Walking Street. But there are other centers of gravity for adult fun in Pattaya, namely the go-gos on Soi LK Metro, the beer bars on Sois 7 & 8 between Beach Road and Second Road and the incomparable scene on Soi Six. So for my money central Pattaya is the best place to stay. There are numerous places to stay in that part of town, ranging from guest houses that offer great value for money to luxe properties where you can live the life of the Two Week Millionaire. If you give us some idea of your budget we could recommend specific places.

It is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. On the last day, Beach Road is shut down to traffic and the water fighting goes from one end to another. There are bands setup all along the beach side as well.
My best advice for the last day is to buy some water shoes, with decent soles. Because if you are out there all day enjoying the festival, your feet will suffer, at least mine did.

Although I am not opposed to paying less if the place is clean, GF, has in-room safe and internet, and has enough room that 2 people can pass each other without turning sideways. My tailor in Pattaya charges 500 baht for quality shirts. A suit should be made of wool. You can test the material by cutting a piece and seeing how it burns.

When I visited Thailand some years back, I did some research on tailors and ended up using two. I actually took the bus from Pattaya to BKK to get fitted.
I used Rajawonse and Boss Avenue tailors and I was very happy with the end result. Rajawonse services US embassy clients and has a fixed prices at 12K Bhat for a suit but they are highly recommended. Boss Avenue tailor are two younger guys across the street from the JW Marriott. I had to insist on top quality fabric and they too produced a very high quality suit and jacket.
