I will probably pick up a phone at Tukcom since I should be into the airport in time to catch the Bell Travel bus to Pattaya and won't need to contact a taxi. Do you know an approximate price for the phone and SIM in Pattaya?You can pay as little as 700-800 baht for a bare bones phone. From there the sky is the limit. The cost of the SIM card will vary depending on how much time comes preloaded. I can't recall what I paid the last time, but it was roughly 300-500 baht. I'm sure others who spend more time shopping at Tukcom than I do can weigh in. But for the phone and the card together figure 1000-1300 for the cheapest option, more if you want a fancier phone. Don't forget that as you use the phone you'll need to "recharge" it by purchasing a top off card. If you are frequently calling internationally that can add up. If you just need a phone for occasional use it won't cost very much.
As for lodging in the 1200 baht per night range, that's very doable. Especially off season. Consider the LK Renaissance and the Pattaya Bay Resort. Both are in central Pattaya, right in the center of just about everywhere you'd want to go. I think 800 baht is also possible, but at that price point you'll have to look a little harder and consider staying in a guest house or smaller property slightly off the beaten path, say along Soi LK Metro or Soi Buakaow.
The motorbike taxis are convenient, but I'm not very comfortable with them and I rarely use them. If you want to get the lay of the land just take a loop or two on the baht buses. They run south on Beach Road and north on Second Road, and east / west at the south and north ends of town. It sounds more complicated that it is. Just get a map and look at the streets. The touristy parts of Pattya are VERY close together. You can easily walk just about everywhere.

Today was my second visit to Fairtex Sport & Racquet Club as a guest of a friend. The usual guest fee is 300 baht. Included are rock climbing & 15 minutes of muai thai training. Tickets for the First Class theatre are 700 baht per person compared to the standard seat theatre of 150 baht per person. I don't know how cinema stay in business in Thailand local don't go the movie much, most of the time the theatre is only 25 % full and that go for most country in Asia you can buy DVD so cheap even before it hit the theatre, did you try any BJ bar yet I cannot believe you waste time going to the movie instead of some live actions.

I have been to all 3 types there and love them all. The 1st Class, The Porch, and the regularones.
The porch has nice Beds you get to lie on and watch a movie with your date. 1 drink included and nice huge bed.
I love 1st class too with their reclining seats and blankets.
Can't go wrong and the price is reasonable compard to American theater's with TOP NOTCH service.
Headd back for 1 month in April / may during Songkran and will see many movi again.

"We're better off there than taking a risk waiting around on the street. If better choices are available, then naturally we choose them."
Nang from Mukdahan, who also helped with the survey, said few women arrested under the anti-trafficking legislation know what it is."They're just going to work, they think, so why are they being arrested?"
Mala moved to Mae Sot because she couldn't earn enough money there for her family. Muay moved across the border to Mae Sai, convinced that whatever Thailand offered had to be better than what she left. Picked up under the anti-trafficking law, they both got sent back.
"We came to build new lives for our families, not to be sent home empty-handed and ashamed," explained Dang Moo, another Burmese sex worker in Mae Sot.
Kiaw from Laos pleaded for understanding among the Thai public and authorities that sex workers prefer not to break any laws."We aren't criminals. We're just honest people trying to build better lives." The women might build a house for their parents or put a kid brother through school.
But the anti-trafficking law regards sex workers as victims, so those who enforce it believe they are "rescuing" the prostitutes. That just makes things worse, say the sex workers.
"Before I was arrested I was working happily, had no debt, and was free to move around the city," said Nok, a Burmese."Now I'm in debt, I'm scared most of the time, and it's not safe to move around. How can they call this 'help'?"
Once "rescued" and after a period of detainment, the foreign workers are deported (only to return at the first chance) and the Thais usually have to undergo vocational training.
"Thai society still looks at sex workers in the old context," Chantawipa said, and even the government's "modern" view of sex workers as victims is outdated. The aim now is to get the government and other concerned parties to stop using the word "victim", to stop putting trafficking and sex work in the same category.
Riddled with loopholes, the anti-trafficking law meanwhile is undercutting women's efforts in other areas, Chantawipa said. It confuses the organisations opposed to trafficking about sex workers' true status. Are they criminals or the victims of criminals?

Actually I waste A LOT of time in Pattaya! I enjoy 2 to 3 hour lunches & dinners with friends or fellow ISG members, going to the gym for rock climbing or muay thai training, taking a bunch of pictures & writing reports for ISG, and enjoying an amazing movie theatre experience that I cannot have back home. Even with all this time waste, I've managed to have 10 girls (including 1 repeat) in 7 days. For me, it is about experiencing a variety of activities. I think I have provided my share of economic support to the Thai economy.

Based on what I've read so far, that seems to be very true. Cheap hotel and pussy is at a very good price down there. Bottom line is that it just looks like I will have a lot of FUN down there. Sure, fucking is fun, so I had some fun in Brazil and DR, but damn, from what I'm seeing, it just seems like there's a constant party down there in Pattaya. All those clubs, all those women, and just a lot more shit to do. In DR, I found myself bored to death during the day, unless I was with a hot chick, but in general the area was boring. I'm a big MMA fan, so when I saw that I would also have the opportunity to see some Muay Thai fights down there, let's just say that's another feather in Pattaya's cap.
Now for my concerns, the numero uno, top notch concern that I have involves ASS. As a fan of huge asses, of course, that is the number one reason why I spent so much time in Brazil. I stay at a little place called the SINBIN on Soi 13/3 it has a little bar down stairs but it has nice service with Breakfast and they are girl friendly, Hell you can even grab their staff if you want. BunkyBook with Thai Air. Non stop. Stay up for the first few hours, than drop a Zanax. Youll be waking up on final. Jump in taxi and be freshly hustling the streets by noon. And like he said, if Thai Air is too expensive, go EVA or Cathay that stops in Taipai with only 3 hr transit. Do the same Zanez trip on the first leg. I like getting a motorbike for looking around, but be really really fuckin careful. Look both ways a million times before any turn. Last time I was there Walking Street was so crowded you could barely move, but there were still lots of hot ones avail. Hit there at 8. M and don't forgt Shark Bar. Fine was 600, and short time was 1, 500. But like he said, its allot easier to check them out in the daytime in the open air beer bars. ThanksThe most obvious answer is 'coconut bar'. Aka anywhere along beach road. It is open 24hrs, prices are fully negotiable, as are services.
IMHO the Pattaya beer bar and gogo ladies are not as hot as the Bangkok ones, but the FLs have the same range of attractiveness (especially in comparison to beer garden) , the prices are cheaper, and many ladies are a lot more liberal. BunkyAs for the booty, I heard from guys here as well as a couple of friends who loved Rio, exactly what you're stating. I understand that there won't be an over abundance of phat booty in Thailand, but with all the choices, I'm bound to find one or two or three. That are to my liking. Korean Air won't be as easy as I'll be leaving at 1pm and arriving the following day at 5pm in Korea. Layover in Korean is only 1 hr and 40 minutes. Oh well, definitely seems like the trip will be worth it once I get there.

Possibly some of the resorts in Pattaya are favoured by Thai corporates? I recommend a trip to Pattaya anyway, very fun time to be had and amazing prices.

Fast Eddie 48In BKK I booked 4 & 5 star hotels last trip, and if the places I had emailed before my first trip to Pattays hadn't informed me that they charge a 500. 1000THB joiner fee, I probably would have stayed at one of them last time as well (I'm still considering a night in a resort for a rest day mid trip for upcoming journey). I've also had Sunday brunch at several BKK places, costing up to 3000THB. Just like many Thai FLs, I consider these things to be good value, and worth doing when in Thailand, as the cost back home is a ridiculous amount more, and the quality often inferior.
To me. 500THB ($15) all up for FS with an OK looking FL, who gives it 100, encourages you to have fun and do pretty much whatever you want (3some, anal, photos and video) is better value to me than many of the stunner GoGo girls where you will pay that just for the BF, and from experience aren't often the best sex. I'll still pick up both, but for ST, I'll most likely be sticking to FL.

If I wanted better looking ladies for more Baht, I probably would stay in Bangkok rather than head down to Pattaya's Gogos. The quality I saw unfortunately wasn't great, and for the price difference (with much worse extras options) , I'd prefer to take a BR FL for the price of a gogo starfish's barfine. I think this could be just because I was brand new to Pattaya, and I didn't get to meet up with a P4P mentor like I did for my first Bangkok trip (again, thanks Ozz). Hit the beach in morning and then after a good lunch at hard rock Café had a sleep. Got up at hit the walking street around 8:00. Decided to see as many Go-Go bars possible.

Apart from how disgusting I thought it was, I wondered how they enforced it. They didn't ask my religion when I ordered my beer (I am not muslim, or of any other religious persuasion, but who is to say I wasn't a converted muslim who just didn't follow the religious dress code?). Naturally after seeing the poster I didn't order another beer and did not return to the bar.

A family member who is a eye specialise gives me a free family examine each year when I go home. After all the normal testes it was pointed out to me in the computer that I had a marking on the back of my eye. After making my way through Hong Kong I finally landed in the Philipines. Up the suggestion of a fellow SEA monger I decided to layover in Manila for 1 day on my way to Thailand. That got me thinking of doing the night in Angeles. My fellow monger contacted his driver named Carlos picked me up from the airport in Manila to take me to Angeles City. I was mentally laying down my plan of action. Most of my methods are centered around having a clean and nice hotel room. Booking at the last minute eliminated that as I had a piece of shit room but I knew that Fields Avenue was open 24-7 so I was looking forward to that at least. The room was as fucked up as I thought it would be but I surveyed it, hid the valuables and hit up Fields at about 2am. I gave myself an hour to pick up. From what I've read, alot of dudes say that one advantage of Angeles over Pattaya is that Angles has far better looking go gos. The first place I went to did not represent that. It looked used and run down I thought. It was big and every seat was a good seat by design but the place just looked used. Saw more stretch marks on stage than I was expecting. Had an older looking server talking to me. At first trying to get me to take her but then eventually pushing me to take from the stage. Online research told me that 4000 pesos was overpaying so when I was told that the only cute girl on stage would have set me back 4000 pesos I declined. She had some sort of special colored badge or something like that. My first time and first go go in Angeles City so I didn't have my bearings just yet. Didn't know if I was being scammed or not. The next place I found was pretty much the same story. Alot of servers talking to me, in excellent English might I add. All in all Angeles City was good. It looks like frontier times when compared to Pattaya. The wild wild west still in alot of ways. It was real quiet the night I was there and the scene was quite small but I can see that as being attractive in some ways. The girls seemed a bit easier to relate to. Not just from the language perspective but from a cultural perspective. They seemed sweeter. Funny how when you mention Angeles to a Pattaya girl and they will have no clue where or what Angeles is but mention Pattaya to an Angeles girl and they will put their nose up in a huff of a little jealousy. With Angeles though I may find the lack of day time options a bit off putting but I can see myself have a good time during the day if I found a girl worth keeping from the night before. From the tourists perspective the crowd seemed older and out of shape. Pattaya is full of alot of young guys who are in shape and such where in Angeles I didn't see that as much. Less competition I suppose. All in all I'd like to explore more and will go back but probably not as an Angeles only trip but as a pit stop in my way to Thailand. I wonder what Cathy is up to?

In all fairness I can't really blame the bars for not wanting the Indian and Muslim community polluting their bars. I have lost count of the number of times I have been somewhere only to see a bunch of Indians / Muslims sharing a beer between 5 and stinking the place up with their body odour.

I can't blame the businesses for not wanting that type of customer in their bar. Granted there may be a few that are alright, but by barring the lot of them you weed out any potential harm and abuse to the girls and customers. For every decent one there are ten foul and evil ones.

Do you have any idea how to split 2 weeks in Thailand? I am arriving in BKK on 2nd May and leaving there on 15th May. I have no plans so far. I arrive in BKK at 7am local time so I was thinking heading straight to Pattaya. Then check in at a hotel and sleep a few hours cause I am flying 10 hours from Europe and no sleep in the plane during the night. Do you suggest staying in BKK for a few days first? I'd also like to get some kind of a tan so what do you suggest? Never been to Jomtien, is it enough to get tanned? Cause I don't do swimming or diving. Just beer and girls is my plan. I was also thinking of flying to Phuket for beach for a few days, does it make any sense or too much traveling? Any ideas? I don't want to or cannot spend too much money so Pattaya is my 1st choice but maybe 2 weeks there too much (for my liver).

The Bangkok scene is more expensive but a lot (and I really mean *a lot*) smaller than Pattaya. But there is a lot more to see and do outside of the girlie areas.
Pattaya is for the hard core monger: everything from FL on Beach Road, over SW in the Soi 6 bars to dance girls in the agogos of Walking Street are abundantly available at reasonable prices. For sure, you get more "bang for your buck" in Pattaya.
Jomtien (only 10 minutes away from Pattaya by bath-bus) is nice to stay if you want to catch some rays of sun. It is less busy, more family oriented, but with a little looking around you will find a nice companion in one of the beerbars who will not take much convincing to offer LT.
Two weeks in Pattaya or Jomtien however may get a bit boring, not to say, even exhausting.
Personally, I would not combine Bangkok and/or Pattaya with Phuket, but YMMV. You will loose another day to get into Phuket and the sun and beach of Jomtien will tan you just as nice. There are a few islands close to Pattaya which are well worth a visit if you want to go away from the Jomtien or Pattaya beaches.

Went to Honey Massage for the first time. There was a lot of guys in the viewing area and there were a lot of women. Most were just OK. Also depends on which category we are talking about. For the easy bar and pick up then hands down to Patts. For the massages with sex then can't beat BKK for that.

Nevertheless expect this 4 bars, faced no problem anywhere.It is interesting to see how my fellow countrymen (and some neighbours) made a name for themselves with bad behaviour and lack of hygiene. 12 years back (and 20 kg lighter. As well) , when I was in Pattya for some sightseeing, I used to get solicited in front of the bars while walking around Pattaya.
Now partly due to some bad apples and partly due to some gogo bar owners trying to attract only white westerners, it has become a hassle for brown skinned people.
Personally, I do feel that while Thailand provide easy access to mongers, it is bit overrated and has become quite costly as well. I found some of the other options in SE Asia more attractive.

Well Dom, I simply tell it like it is. I'm clearly not alone going by previous posts and the ever growing list of bars displaying the now popular sign containing the glorious words 'no Indians or Muslims allowed'. It is not racism at all. Nothing more than the consequences of Indian and Muslim men abusing the girls and going 5 ways on a beer. Unacceptable behaviour in any country.
Take a walk along Beach Road at anytime of the day and you will see countless women being hoarded by anything from 3 up to 8 Indian or Muslim men trying to get her back to the room for what I would class as abuse. Degrading the girl even further by trying to haggle her down from her standard rates. Pathetic and just illustrates that Indians and Muslims just see women in general as animals there for abuse. Is it not part of their religion?
Their demeanour and actions are appalling. You are simply paying for the price for your brothers behaviour.
What are the other options you found in SEA that is better than Pattaya? Can you please elaborate?

It is interesting to see how my fellow countrymen (and some neighbours) made a name for themselves with bad behaviour and lack of hygiene. 12 years back (and 20 kg lighter. As well) , when I was in Pattya for some sightseeing, I used to get solicited in front of the bars while walking around Pattaya.
Now partly due to some bad apples and partly due to some gogo bar owners trying to attract only white westerners, it has become a hassle for brown skinned people.
Personally, I do feel that while Thailand provide easy access to mongers, it is bit overrated and has become quite costly as well. I found some of the other options in SE Asia more attractive.
