Your description sounds as if this was your fist time in Pattaya and perhaps your fist time in Thailand too. It sounds to me like this because I've had some similar misadventures in Pattaya when I went there for the first time in my life years ago.
But I went back to Pattaya again despite some of my fist-time disappointments. And my subsequent experiences with the ladies got better, because I've learned to choose my ladies more carefully and more wisely.

I'd be sitting there trying to work out just what was she on about! Soon enough i realised that quite often it was just misunderstanding each other. It was all about either me not understanding what she was on about, or she didn't understand what i was on about. (the death spiral argument is when both have no idea) We could even be fighting about two totally unrelated things !!!!!!
So i came up with this system where at some point either one of us would say "Hold on. Be careful. I think this is misunderstand." We don't even say who is misunderstand. But this statement is clearly understood by her (and me) to mean something is not right.
Then we both stop, take a deep breath, and try and make sure we are on the right track. Generally the stop and breath part is enough to stop the spiral.
Still argue from time to time but generally not terminal arguments.

getting to pattaya
well i have finally completed my trip to pattaya. this board, as it has been in the past, made this trip possible. thanks to all who bother to report on their trips and the numerous pm’s i got to make my trip memorable.
first i flew into phuket rather than bkk due to the airport being closed. i was hoping that i could get a flight into pattaya or u-tapao. but to no avail. all sold out. as i exited customs their were touts there selling bus rides to bkk. i initially resisted because i wanted to go back to the counter to see if any tickets may possibly be available to the two airports. but as i was going a gent from the uk told me he tried and their were no flights. he had paid to take a minibus to bangkok. given the safety in numbers and the fact we seemed comfortably with each other i decided that was the best way to get there.
we were sooned joined in the waiting area by a women with a 3 year old (oh god i thought) and then we were joined by this hot thai chick! turn out she was in the thai army! she has just completed some training in the us and was returning home. damn she had a nice ass on her! anyhow i knew that somehow someway on this trip i was going to get at her.
before i talk about the bus trip i wanted to stress-do not ever drive or take a bus from phuket to bangkok! it took 9 hours and 25 minutes and that was with three stops for gas and the driver driving very fast. at times i was concerned about the drivers speed. it was borderline reckless at times and if it wasn’t for the thai army chick we wouldn’t have been able to communicate with him at all. because most of the drive was at night there was nothing to see. when the sun did finally rise the drive was boring-except for one thing. we hit a dog. a big dog. about the size of a good size german shepard. i felt terrible about that as i saw the dog fly through the air as it was hit. surprisingly the driving ignored it and kept going. he didn’t even seem the least bit concerned.

the ride to pattaya from bangkok takes 2 hours and you have to pay the 100 baht toll along the expressway. it’s a pretty boring ride.
queen victoria inn
i stayed at the queen victoria hotel. i would absolutely not stay here again. i have no problems with budget accommodations. but there were so many issues that i would never ever stay here again. the queen victoria is on soi 6. however, off of 2nd road, there are actually (2) soi 6’s! the driver dropped me off at the wrong soi 6. i had to walk a good 4 blocks before i found the right one. and on the subject of cab drivers-they don’t know where anything is. one the three occasions that i took a cab the driver didn’t know where i wanted to go and drove around and around and then tried to just leave me wherever they wanted(i wasn’t having that though). so be careful with the cabs.
onto the queen victoria. it is a small hotel. it is a small bar/restaurant downstairs. the women who handled the check in was frankly rude the entire time i was there. then they made me change rooms on day 3 for no reason! they had me change from one side of the hotel to the other. i wanted to get an early start that day and had to wait for the other guest to check out before i could leave me room. and given i had things in the safe i wasn’t going to leave that to chance. 12 noon comes around and the guest still hasn’t checked out. i went to the rude older women who handles the check in and asked for the owner. i’m sorry guys-this was the most greasy, sloppy too much chest hair guy i’d ever seen. he proceeded to tell me that i should knock on the guest door and tell him i needed my room!!! incredible. the guest left the room at 12:30 and then the owner told me i could have it now but it wasn’t clean. i was getting so angry! when i got in the room it was a damn smokers room and smelled terrible. later that night i saw two damn roaches in my bag of oreos on the clothes chest! the only advantage to both rooms i had was that it faced soi 6 and i could watch the girls. if you dare stay at the queen victoria on soi 6 be sure to get a room on the 1st floor that faces the street. you’ll love watching the girls come in and get ready for the nights work. one of the best points of the trip!
now the queen victoria closes the front door at around 10pm i think. so you can only come in and out from the alley. then you have to climb some steep metal steps to get into the hotel. the guard that is there at night is cool. he doesn’t speak any english but i always spoke to him and gave him a bottled water once. be sure to be friends the guard. you want to know why?

now there have been reports of ladyboys on soi6 and i wasn’t too worried. however guys it is over the top. they aren’t really there during the day. but at night. good god. you see soi 6 turns off all of the street lights around 12 or 1 i think. this is the darkest street i have ever walked down in my life. these ladyboys don’t stand in the middle of the street so you can see them. they actually stand up in the dark corners and then pop out. i mean it is a scary experience and to make matters worse their voices are very strange. the first time it happened you have the fight or flight experience you know-and i had the fight experience and got really aggressive and the two ladyboys backed down. but everyday i was in pattaya i had to go through this at night and even sometimes during the day. however around day 3 the ladyboys left me alone because i was so aggressive with them. i know some of you have recommended not doing this but the hell with me being nearly assaulted. and that’s what they nearly do. but i guess they go the message and left me alone. but trust me guys it is a very serious issue if you decide to stay at the queen victoria inn. even after i knew they left me alone each time i came back around 3 or 4 i was on extreme guard walking down that back alley of soi 6.you have been warned.
the hotel rooms are motel 6 type. nothing fancy at all. the tv’s however are nice sony flat screens and there are lots of channels.
as far as soi 6 distance from walking street it is really about what you came to pattaya for. i like street girls so the opportunity to walk from soi 6 to walking street and see the literally 100-200 street girls was like a kid in a candy store for me. but if you aren’t into the street girls on beach road don’t stay on soi 6. its too far away from walking street. i must to have walked it ten times in my stay and even though i enjoyed it you better be fit to do it.
soi 6
soi 6 is about an american city block long. on each side are about 40 bars with short time girls. guys it is incredible and frankly overwhelming. as you walk past each one(cars rarely ride down this street) each and every bar has about 8+ girls in front and they are all screaming for you. some come out and grab you and hug you etc. being black and frankly handsome i got a lot of attention. i never partaked in any of the soi6 girls however i can tell you watching them was incredible. each day i would watch them start coming in around 11am. and i took a lot of photos of them from my window. there was one girl in particular was was absolutely adorable. i took several photos of her but when i went down to actually barfine her she was gone. i never saw her again after that. take a look at her pic. she is gorgeous(look at the butt shot!). the girls sit for about two hours putting their makeup on a chatting. i noticed several of the bars had for sale signs and some never opened the whole time i was there. there is one lady boy bar..its on the left side when you are walking towards the beach. i always steered clear of them and as you start to walk down soi6 towards the ocean the bars thin out anyway. honestly it is just a bit overwhelming having that many girls screaming for you. you just have to experience it yourself.

the street girls literally start at soi 6. you wont find them above that. guys there are street girls 24 hours avalible. the bulk of them come out after 6 and stay until about 4am. and i don’t know who said that most of them are dogs because they are not. i saw many 8’s among them. the closer you get to walking street the prettier they tend to get. the street girls tend to cluster in groups. they are always friendly and smile at you and about 40% of them will reach out and grab you. but it is in a friendly manner always. yes some of the women are hags but i’m telling you guys atleast 70% of them are doable. the girls are 99% of the time on the ocean side of beach road. only really really late at night are they on the other side of beach road.they all want 500 baht. don’t pay more. most of them are from issan and have atleast one kid. but in my experiences with them they were all friendly, sweet and saw their work as a necessity. and they care about how they treated me even though they were street girls. they always held my hand on the way back to the hotel and were just as sweet as can be. so different than streetwalkers anywhere i have encountered in the world. now the fact that i am black was an advantage. each girl liked me more because of it and i actually get hit on twice in pattaya-buy a girl working in the burger king on beach road and a girl working in the pattaya hospital. they always called me “chocolate man” or something but it was good natured and sweet-not racists. i was never looked down on or anything because of my race. one street girl told me she and her friends rarely saw black men there and were happy to be with one.

walking street is absolutely overwhelming. you know when you enter walking street from beach road because there is a huge arch that says walking street lol. if you asked me to guess walking street is maybe 8 or 9 usa city blocks long. on each side are beer bars, strip joints and a few restaurants. i went there each night and it was wall to wall people including familes and small children(which appalled me). nevertheless you have girls outside trying to entice you into each joint. there are two or three convenience stores for soda, etc on walking street. i even saw a few ladyboys though they weren’t aggressive at all compared to the soi6 ones. as i said beer bar girls etc aren’t my thing but i still went inside of peppermint. they are fully nude in there although the place is very small. you have to go up an escalator to get inside and they check you for weapons. the girls dance on very small stages(there are two of them) and one has three girls behind glass dancing. the girls were attractive however i had seen the same quality on walking street. in my case i sat right up on a stage(they seat you when you come inside) and you are eye level with the bottom of the girls so you are looking right up her p***. wow.
if you walk to the end of walking street you see the pier and the go kart track. the go karts are a blast.

-the burger king and mcdonalds are open 24 hours on beach road
-there is a 24 hour cybercafé just south of the dolphin fountain on beach road.
-do not buy a sim card from the 7-11. it is a ripoff. instead there is a shopping mall that sells nothing but cell phone supplies on the second floor. i cant remember the name of it but ask and someone will know. get your sim cards from there.

Great report Showdown! You got the right price for the taxi trip from Bangkok to Pattaya. Just a general advice here: in Thailand, it’s better to have with you the address (and directions if possible) in Thai or at least the phone number of your chosen hotel when you want to go there by cab. The cab driver usually has his/her own mobile phone and will call your hotel in order to get the right directions if he/she is lost or has no clue where your hotel is located. You can often find enough information on the Web.
About ladyboys, I usually just laugh and wave them away while saying that I’m not into "special ladies", but just fancy the "regular" ones. I've never had to be aggressive and never have been seriously annoyed by them so far.

Excellent report Showdown. You will return - one trip to Pattaya is never enough but return visits are never as magical as the first. Then you are in a real 'kid in a chocolate factory' mentality which diminishes proportinately on every subsequent trip.
But its always good to read a report by a first time visitor and remember the wide eyed delight of ones own first visit.
On my last visit, I too was suprised at the improvement in the standard of the SW's on Beach Road. There are some real lookers amongst their numbers and they invariably know how to please which cannot always be said about gogo or beer bar girls.

Gogo bars and beer (outdoor) bars are located all over Pattaya so no matter where you stay in Pattaya, both will be close at hand. But assume that you mean Walking (pedestrianized) Street where some of the 'better class' gogo's with finer looking talent is located. Don't flame me on this one as everyone has his own favourite part of Pattaya either for stay or play. I prefer somewhere central (stayed a Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartment last trip which proved a mistake as although a good hotel, it is not really central). If you want somewhere near Walking Street may I suggest the Penthouse (http://www.penthousehotel.com/index_1.html), which is a weird and wonderful boutique hotel close to the action. Its not for everyone as its very monger orientated with the Kitten Club Gogo on the premises and you might find the rooms a bit strange if you are used to normal hotel room (swings, Jacuzzi's, gogo poles, sex toys etc). But stayed there in one of the Penthouse Relax Suites on my last but one visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not exactly a place to entertain business colleagues though, but I think you might find it amusing and fun. Not cheap though but not overtly expensive. GH

Was a quiet night in Jomthien and I was looking for something a bit different to my usual, and as they say, a change is good as a rest. There was so much to say in my last report that my hands got sore from typing and I had to stop. Here are some additional notes.
The chick from the Thai Army I never got to see. I simply never got back to Bangkok. However I have been calling her everyday and we are always talking. I am seriously considering going back to Pattaya at the end of this month when we have Christmas break. I dont know how much the tickets are but I am going to look into it. I think this time however I will spend it with my Thai GI Jane. Damn that girl had an ass on her. One other thing. I had alot of dental work done when I was there. I went to a spot that several folks PM me about and believe me they did a better job than I have ever had in the States. And believe me the dentist was very pretty and so was her staff. PM me if you want to know where I went in Pattaya.
Also one interesting note. Several of the Beach Road girls offerred to do me right there. This was only at night. If you walk along beach road they have these wooded sheds they store the umbrellas in at night. They wanted to go right behind it and do the deed. They werent kidding either. And they offerred it only for 400 baht when I pretended like I would do it. I always carried condoms with me in my fanny pack anyway but I never went ahead with it. Too many risks involved in that when my hotel is so close.
As far as black men are concerned I only saw one or two in the five days I was there. I know one of you said they are used to seeing Black men but I just didnt get that feeling at all. It wasnt like China mind you when they NEVER see anyone black. It was just obvious, atleast to me, that it wasnt very common at all.
As far as the airport in Bangkok you couldn't even tell anyone had protested there. It is a very ultra modern airport and very efficient. I found it to be actually very beautiful and has a nice blue neon exterior look. They need some more stores inside to eat etc but its a nice nice airport...nicer than LAX or Kennedy thats for sure.
I can tell you that after two or three girls you are worn out. I know that many of you are super horny and got a couple of weeks worth of cu* saved up but believe me after three girls you will need a day or so break. I know you are probably thinking "yeah right not me" but believe me guys you cant screw every girl in Pattaya. If you love Thai food (as I do), you could do no worse than try the coupon self service place which is, I think, near the Bangkok bus departure point in between departures and arrivals. Its really for airport staff but like the similar place at the old Don Muang airport, they don’t mind if passengers eat there. It is cheap, there is a wide choice of dishes and the food is delicious.

Why go looking for a hotel room when you arrive when you can do better things and have fun why waste time . I know alot of people who are going over Christmas and new year.

I'm arriving in LOS on 3 January and I've been spending all Sunday making calls to hotels in Pattaya without any avail.
There are still rooms available in the more expensive hotels but since I'll be away for 3 months I'm stuck to budget accommodation.
That's why I'll just continue on to Isaan where finding hotel rooms is no problem.
Normally things return to normal after the first weekend of the New Year (5 Jan)

2. First time here during "high" season, but there are less people than my previous low-season trips so that should give an idea about how tourist numbers are down.
3. There really are a lot of beautiful women here. Not to put anyone down, but when I see some of the pictures of guys' "dreamgirls", I wonder why they accept pudgy bodies, saggy tits, and stretch marks.
For example, Tonight I strolled along the beach and saw many good looking girls and about 5 stunning girls, as in perfect from hair, to face, to body. Every stunner was ready to go. I took one back to my room after agreeing on 500 baht short time.
In addition to being a perfect looker, she performed expertly, was fun to talk to, and I fucked her for 2 hours with some resting, talking, laughing, mixed in.

I am in Pattaya, my hotel has no rooms for 2 days, Dec 30 and 31. Tried 2 places, finally got Inn House on Soi 13 for 1450 b which is way overpriced but I took it because there was nothing else below 2500b.

What the girls are referring to is ... this time of the year it is normally high season but maybe due to the economy and the airport being shut down many tourist have canceled their plans to visit Thailand this holiday season. Thus you are getting the line ... same as low season although it's suppose to be high season. Don't worry go more girls for you if you're there!

Interesting theory, what do you mean by "unemployable"? Looks, attitude, disease? I'm sure the various bars are loaded with sub-standard types. Hard to imagine a girl can be "unemployable" in Pattaya.
My limited experience talking with these freelancers is that they prefer that method for exactly that reason, the are free to do as they like.
The latest beach road girl I was with (who I enjoyed a second time, and have spent some "other" time with), says she has the option of working at a go go on walking street but doesn't really like it. She does a whole variety of other things with her day, besides the few hours she spends at the beach at night.
Of course many of the beach girls have other regular jobs or other obligations so the beach scene for them is a second job that fits there schedule but doesn't commit them to the control of the bar owner.

Carrefour, houses many establishments. First there is a home center call Home Pro, pretty much like a Home Depot ( if you are from the states ), it also houses a Super Market in which you can buy house hold items and T.V. maybe like a small Wal-Mart. There are also many small independent shops throughout the building. There is a food court, MailBox Etc... with Internet, Coffee shop, KFC, Subway Sanwiches, Swensen Ice Cream, M.K. and Fuji Restaurant, Donut shop, etc.....
Go for coffee at 94 Degree and sit and watch the ladies come and go!

They have a great bakery and deli in the supermarket.
The new shopping center will be open soon soi 9 and Beach Rd .
Carrefour is all over Asia but they have a hard time complete with Wal-Mart in China.

This just happened. I'm staying at the southern end of Soi BuaKhao. Someone had told me of a small hotel I should check out on soi 14, near 2nd road so around 7pm, I decided to walk down there and see if I could locate it.
I had no plans to be with a woman tonight, just going to take it easy, watch Thailand play Indonesia in football, and sleep.
On my way I passed a little restaurant that said it had euro and thai food, realized I was hungry, and made a plan to eat there on the way back. Plus, therewas a pretty cute waitress that I figured would be nice to look at while I ate.

I can answer some of your questions based on my experiences 17+4 nights in 07 and 15 nights this year between the months of July and September.
1. Everywhere is okay to me.
3. Taxis are available on Beach Road particularly.
4. Depends on your taste. Local or Russian can be found in Walking Street.
5. Wow you can spend. For an Asian like me 3000b can cover one day's expenses. Hope you do not spoil the prices for ordinary guys like us.
6. Short time 500b. In go go bar fine alone can be 600b. Long time from 1000b
Take it from me, even 1000b LT are pretty, but they are not everywhere and you have to do some leg work.
Sorry I go to Pattaya next only between Mar 5 and 13. Hope to meet up though I am retired already.

It's not in the centre of gravity, but not too far from beach road. you can walk through Soi 6 which provides some nice views and at beach road just take a baht bus to walking street or walk along beach road and have some more views, some nice, some not.
3: Are there regular taxis available from the streets? I do not like the moto-taxis or baht buses too much. Forget regular Taxis. Take baht buses, even when it's too basic for your taste.;) Taxis are not regular in Pattaya, so to get one is not easy. If you still insist on you one and only transportation you can also hire a baht bus for you alone.
4: Which places currently has the best girls? The best girls u can find in Discos, like Insomnia, gogos like Peppermint, Happy, or Living Doll agogo, or at a gentlemen club between Soi 2 and Soi 6. Don't remember the name, but something with dragoon, if I am not wrong.
5: I am having a very difficult time deciding on where to stay. I would like a nice and modern hotel with good facilities incl. a pool, but at the same time good location and guest friendly. Try Siam Bay Resort, is on the end of walking street and has a nice pool, or Hard Rock Hotel which has also a nice pool (maybe the best in Pattaya) and nice Russian chicks you might also see there. If you can get one is a question of your approching skill, since those Russians in the hard rock hotel are usually upper class people.

I never wanted to give the impression attitude wasn't important to me. It is very important! But I don't see any reason to make a trade off. Within the pool of good looking girls, and it is a pretty big pool, I then select a girl whose attitude appeals to me and who clearly wants to be with me.
There is still no guarantee her initial attitude isn't a facade, but I have not had any losers yet on this trip using my preferences and selection method.

You are correct - this is the 'lost' girl of Soi 8 - a quite nuts, poor little wretch who can usually be seen wandering about at the Beach Road entrance to the Soi and has been around, in that state, for ages. We thought staying on Walking Street was a great option, walk out the door and right into the thick of it, I love it, but if I am mistaken please correct me with some other/better options.
We particularly like rooms that refresh linen everyday, have a safe in the room, GF (love all the million and one acroynoms on this site, I need a new window just for them while I read all your interesting posts to decifer what I am reading! ).
And something close to the beach if thats possible, I love swimming, so I would like to be able to walk to the beach easily. And while I write that is there any nude beach swimming allowed in Pattaya?

Swinging is not something accept by the Thai police, including the internet censors. There was a very active swing party group in Pattaya about 3 years ago. Booking ahead isn't really necessary, as there are so many choices, and vacancies, given the whole airport disaster (fewer tourists, hotels desperate).
If you really don't feel right just showing up and finding a place, you can check out sanya's apartments - they have a website, something like sanyasapartments.com - search, you should find it. Decent enough place, but not next to beach. Just the same, as I said, such places are a dime a dozen right now.

There is a terrific little hotel called the Viking Hotel, run by an absentee Scandanavian, straight up the boulevard from the Walking St entrance, about a mile or so. I've stayed there a few times and always had a good time. Check it out for a reasonable and very clean operation far from the noise, with a nice little pool. Viking-hotel dotcom I think.
You can rent a 50cc scooter right at the bar for way cheap, too. But the Baht Buses go flying by in both directions if you put a premium on your brains staying in your head.
I don't have any interest in the place.- I just like it. I saw a few posts asking about Patt Alternatives. More later, jck

Sure, the Nova Lodge is still open. About one week ago I left the hotel having stayed 26 nights in a good room.
I came directly from the Majestic Grande in Bangkok, but I can say that I was happy with everything at the Nova Lodge. The clue is that you must find a good room in this hotel built in the 1960ies and not that well maintaned.
The hotel has many rooms in a bad condition. Be sure to have a room in a good condition. A guy I got in contact with changed room three times until they gave him a good room.
As far as I remember the rate for a standard room, including breakfast buffet for two persons, is 1 300 baht.
The location is excellent. Near Tops supermarket, near Savoey seefood restaurant, close to the freelancers at Beach road and near the bars in soi 7 and 8. A few minutes by bahtbus to Walking street. A bahtbus in the other direction brings you to soi 6.
I enjoy swimming for exercise. The nice tropical garden with the 30 meter long swimming pool is the best I can find for the rate I had. I had a special price because I stayed long time.
If you get a good room you enjoy the atmosphere and charms of this hotel.
The information I received from the staff was that the Nova Lodge will close in a couple of months, I think after Songhkran. After a huge renovation it will open again with a new management.

Gradually, I begun to understand why there were so many mongers without company yesterday night. Only a few are so crazy to pay the crazy bar fines. This is not customer friendly at all. If this is not reasonably possible - due to exorbitant bar fines, we just will not do it anymore and go to other places. Be it other bars that are more reasonable - or other places at all.

So you want mongers to join in your boycott of this club because they wanted you to use their short time room on the premises and you wanted to take the girl off site? These places are all about making money, those on site ST rooms are lot more profitable to the clubs because the girls will return to work much quicker than if they went to their customer’s hotel. I am with you on the fact that these prices are ridiculous. But as long as there are enough BSD's out there paying them, you are sitting on the shorter side of the seesaw. Last night I was in a mood for some sleazy fun so I went straight to the Windmill Club on Soi Diamond between 2nd Road and Walking Street. There are elegant bars; there are sleazy bars; and many more in-between, but the Windmill Club is, I think, perhaps the sleaziest bar in all of Pattaya.
Three hours after I walked in, and completely satisfied, I made my way home. Total cost for the evening: 440 baht. Daddy: This sounds like my kind of bar! Wow. I will take your word for it that the girls are cute. From your description. I like the full on sexuality. I like the low pressure to buy LDs. And the girls actually want to be BF'd? Many times at places like Angelwitch, the girls are more interested in doing the show than actually going with a customer.
Last year, I went to Sisterz and IMHO it was one of the sleazier places that I have been to in Pattaya but the talent was terrible. Would you say that this go-go is always like this or do you think the recent low tourist turnout made them up the ante? I'm not sure when in 2009 I will make it back to Pattaya but I will make a mental note about this go-go.

Just stay in Pattaya a few more days. The bar fines will return to normal.
I complained of this same situation last year. Mick Licker explained that at the peak of high season, including Christmas and New Years eve, when there are crowds of customers, the bar owners don't want the girls to be bar fined quickly and cheaply. It's a sellers market then. They make most of their money on the sale of drinks, especially lady drinks. If all the best girls are bar fined away early, the customers will go away as well, and the bar owners will lose revenue.
Makes sense to me. When the crowds finally recede, competition will return, and the bar fines will drop like stones.
Ok guys and fellow mongers. Thanks for all your comments regarding Windmill Club. As I mentioned, I understand the principle of demand and supply pretty well. However, I admit that I was just disappointed on that evening. For my part, I will not go to Windmill anymore (at least during this stay), but that's my personal decision. It will have no impact on their business, as the seat will be filled up by others. I know. But better than to ask for a bar fine of 2'500 THB they should have told me that there is no take out that night. As they asked for such a ridiculous price, I felt pretty stupid.
Nevertheless, as you could read in my report, I found another bar, which was much more reasonable, and the girl was nice. So, competition still works.
Thanks again, and let's close this topic now. I will continue to enjoy all the other opportunities, the place on offer.

We moved in to a simple hotel in Soi Bukhau for 600B a night where another friend was staying on more or less permanent basis, a real full time monger. His main source is the Beach Rd and 500 B ST. He has a budget to keep.
First evening we took a walk along Beach Rd, and I have to say the activity there was much higher than what it was on my two previous visits in low season. Girls were available till very late, but prime time now seems to be about 8 o’clock in the evening.
We had a beer at two of the a-go-go’s open early evening with 55 B beer, but the selection was not good. Later in the evening I took a cute 22 year old from Beach Rd for ST 500 B. After that I went to a go-go which my friend recommended. The name is already forgotten, I think it is airport or something. At least the theme has to do with air travel, the girls are dressed as sexy stewardesses. Most girls are naked and slap each other with some foamy sticks. There is also a good show by two girls in a small pool under a shower. Some of the girls there are really good looking. Didn’t take any though.
The next day my friend gets his girl from BKK to Pattaya since it was the last day at school and the guy who lives there has a sort of “permanent” girl, and she came with a friend which I got a long well with, 23 year old, decent English, from Surat Thani, mother from Isaan though, so you can’t get away from them. Not too great in bed.
The next day we had a Christmas Party with other people of the same nationality. The girl from yesterday shows up, since her friend called her. Hardly any English spoken and she had to be back by 3, but ST was what he wanted anyway.

She only wanted 100B, but he gave her 500.
So for the last day I decided to go for the “regular” girl. Sorry for not having seen you yesterday honey, was very tired. My unlucky friend had also got together with his “girlfriend” again, so all 3 couples went for a nice dinner. I was leaving for Jakarta the next morning, so we went to bed early. I have say that with my training program she has improved and I think I will extend the training next time I come back.
Just stay in Pattaya a few more days. The bar fines will return to normal.

True - although 2,500 BF is the highest I have ever heard of. And don't expect them to come down right after New Year's - the bar owners usually "forget" to take the signs down until about a week afterwards. Just stay away from walking street during this time. It's crowded, full of nasty touts, and everyone turns greedy.
Tim Bone, the bar you mean is called "Air Port Club" and is directly in Walking Street, on the right hand side, directly opposite Soi Diamond. I agree, they have some pretty ones, but I have not taken one out either. Perhaps yet to come.
On the other hand, I can confirm your experience. Many of the beer bars with average to ugly girls have a teaser to attract customers. But they never go with them. I had some disappointment a couple of times, so I avoid them by now. If a bar has a few good lookers, then there might be a chance. At least worth a try.
I also paid a visit to Secrets Bar. They have not the best lookers (though some are pretty nice), but the place is definitely hassle-free and a place to relax from the usual bar stress. The girls tend to be a bit older (though not all), and many of them have given birth, so they have the usual marks. But in general, they compensate with skills and kindness. I had one from there and was not disappointed. Very pretty face, tits and belly with the birth marks, but she gave me an excellent BBBJ, and became totally wet, when I DATY'd her. True often it is the owner or girlfriend from the owner who is the pretty one. Some pretty girls who got money from their former Job as bar girl, or whose have rich farang sponsors, open a bar in the hope to make profit. Those girls usually don't leave the bar before it close and those girls have no need to go with every customer.
Well, they might go with customer when the bar runs not good. But, all in all I would avoide such bars.

Club has three areas: a go-go stage with approx 12 girls, soapy tub with 2 girls performing lesbian acts, and a small stage in the back with the foam tube spanking. These two bars last time I checked back in October had fixed rates no only for bar fine but also for the ST/LT cost, which had to be paid up front (before you leave with the girl !!). Not exactely a comfortable position for the customer who is already committed no matter what happens afterwards..

Back in October I did some barfining at some of the go-gos on Walking St and I took out girls for 1500 baht for LT. I remember one of them was Windmill.
I do believe that by second half of January prices will get back to normal and everyone should try to get 1000 baht for ST and 1500 LT. Yep, pretty much the case. Always pay after (when she's about to leave) and negotiate the price up front. Also negotiate what she'll do in the bedroom. I've taken some girls and when I get them back they refuse to kiss, or refuse to give a BJ. If it's a really bad experience (like refusing to do certain things that were negotiated), you can always go back to the bar and demand the barfine back.
If you take a girl for LT, sometimes she will try to get out of the room early but will ask for the LT price - give her the ST price if this happens. Peppermint go-go girls are notorious for this. They think that Long Time means 3 hours, and ST means 1 hour. There are some go-gos in Bangkok that are notorious for this as well. My advice is to read this board and stick to the most popular go-gos with the best girls - Windmill and Babydolls are the best ones on Walking Street - I've never had a bad experience with any of the girls there.
Also negotiate what she'll do in the bedroom. I've taken some girls and when I get them back they refuse to kiss, or refuse to give a BJ.
This is a business transaction so get everything sorted out upfront unless you're a casual guy who can go with the flow in any situation. Also, if she doesn't do what she said she will do or if she lied to you ("i'm not a mother", but you see stretch marks), don't hesitate to kick her out of the room, and call her on her lie. I've found that if they've tried to deceive you in any way and you call them on it, they generally lose face and go without any hassles. You're the customer and you should get your moneys worth

You pay a barfine for ST. Take her to the hotel and do your thing. "IF" you hit it off, then offer to take her to eat.
If you agreed on LT, then the circumstances are different.

The length of ST and LT really depends on what you agree on with the girl. Always pay after! I recently went to BKK (first time) and got very confused about what LT meant. Whats the point of LT if most girls think this means one boom boomPM (and one shot AM)? I'd always thought that an extended stay with a 'working girl' meant that you could at least go for 2 or 3 boom booms, esp if over several hours. In London, 45 minutes with a girl usually means 2 boom booms, if you can do it. Took me a while to reailze that girls seem to think, usually, that LT means 1 PM, 1 AM.

I respectfully disagree. Firstly, the fee you pay here is for the room and room supply fees.....the price (sex) has to be negotiated separately....just like Sabailand used to be....but this method is not a good one for the punter. One price, all in is the way to go. Secondly, the selection here is not up to par.....and that's my opinion.....end of argument as far as I am concerned. I did make one good selection here in many years of looking.....the girls are usually older, not attractive, fat, etc. We just disagree on this. There are a lot of other venues for this guy to try.....

as a matter of fact, i do not like to eat alone, but prefer some nice company. i agree with you guys, however, that it is important to check out first the mood and ideas of the girl. due to her good look, i probably rushed a bit to barfine her. had i taken a bit more time, i might have already felt her hurry and then would not have taken her out.
in the past, i had wonderful dinners with great companions, before the deed. we had good fun, and then going to the room was like taking your girlfriend home - but then with a new experience.

I am also the romantic type. Hate eating alone and after barfining the girl if it is early would take the girl to a nice restaurent.
Only problem is these girls like their street food and do not like anything in the restaurent. If the girl is GFE they enjoy the time at dinner. If she is not you can easily tell.
30% of the time I have had good experience and good service from barfine girls taking them to dinner. I do not take them to dinner anymore the first time. Only if the girl stays with me one night and I plan to keep her for another I will take her to dinner. This avoids unnecessary hassles.
Best thing is to make sure the girls stays LT. Lots of stunners want only ST.
And they are least bothered to have dinner with you wasting her precious time.

I also prefer more time with the girl, but then we are talking longtime. If you agree LT then she knows and is prepared to stay with you.
But you agreed ST and then it will be ST and then when with you she is already preparing for the next customer/money and she wants to return to the bar as soon as possible. Time is money!
So if you prefer more time and you are prepared to make some extra costs, dinner/drinks, then why not simply make an agreement for LT. Then you can do everything relaxed and have all the fun you want, again ofcourse within the LT agreement. Time is money!
The girls are not there for you, but they only want/need money!
ST = SHORTtime and LT = LONGtime, all up to you!

I would much rather bust a nut with a buzz from a bar than gazz from a restaurant. Plus, who isn't hungry after a workout? The fillies usually want to scoot, but if she doesn't and performed well, the easiest thing is to share a bite at your hotel's cafe.- unless you are at a 5-star. But who among us bothers with that?
Keep it simple.- you'll have fewer problems.

I was that way and still have a "soft side" but only when she is gives GFE and eager t please.
I understand Wonderers wish, to show up with a beautiful girl in a restaurant and get some jealous looks from other men. But, it's not a good idea to make that with a girl who is just behind quick money.
I saw it quite often, that guys come with her barfined girls to Clubs to have some dancing and boasting before they go back to the Hotel. If the bar girl and the customer likes each other, they can have a good time. But, often I notice that the bar girl flirts with other guys when the guy who barfined her looks in another direction.
Best advice if you can't read body language, is take her to the room after barfining and if she still wants to stay, than go for diner or disco or cinema, or what ever.

Last time I was in Pattaya I had 2 experiences with taking our cuties for eating in a restaurant. I discovered that this sometimes requires knowing the girl a bit better.
The one which was the best and nicest to be with was the one from Beach Road. She claimed she had not been in town long and I believed her. I was hungry as hell and drinking too much and needed to eat. She held my hand and I took her around to a thai restaurant. She didn't know much English but she was very polite and graceful. I ended up asking her for LT instead of ST and took her to my Hotel instead of my ST Hotel.
The other one was just a beauty gogo from Walking street. She was so hot.
But what a pain in the ass in the restaurant! I was sorry I invited her.
The fellow in an earlier post who said keep it simple was right. Western women are always wanting to eat out but we are in a different world!

In fact, when I invited a take-out for dinner, in the majority of cases, I had a good time with them, even though it might have turned out later on to be as "ST". Most of the girls enjoyed having some food after their work. Sometimes, I propose a restaurant, sometimes, I let them propose. And yes, if they chose, they always go for something cheap yet quite delicious.
Also this time in Pattaya, I had more of the good experience when taking them to dinner before the hotel.
But perhaps the one I got from Happy was just not happy with me (and vice versa), i.e. just not the right match.
And as some of you mentioned, it is important, indeed to read some body language. This takes some time, and in the unhappy Happy case, I did not invest this time. I would consider this the main mistake.

And in Pattaya, it is sometimes even better not to be too visible (...), but with a pretty girl, it is more difficult to hide. I have been to Pattaya recent years and in my 60s now.Each stay has been between 4 to 17 days at a stretch.Most times I stayed in Pattaya Tai and in
between I stay at Jomtien, next to the airport bus stand.
I notice around Dongtan Beach which is halfway between Pattaya and Jomtien there are also hotels between the beach and the roundabout.Would this area be nice to roam about in day and night time and how much would
the baht buses cost to go halfway either way,that is from Pattaya to here
or from Jomtien to here.Thanks guys
