Visited soapies Rasputin and Honey 2. Both featured a good assortment of older looking ladies which I am not attracted to. Sabai had by far the best selection of mostly younger girls at 2 K and 2. 4 K. I had one wild session there and one not so good. The second one refused light fingering and any form of sucking me or pussy licking, so I quickly ended the session and left without complaining to management. It is too bad because she was an otherwise nice girl with a good body who unfortunately has chosen the wrong profession. This sometimes happens in P4 P so I just chalked it up as one of those experiences. I would repeat at Sabai. I stayed at the DiscoveryBeach Hotel which is in an excellent location right next to Soy 6 and 6-1. If you stay there be sure and ask for the newer tower which is closer to the ocean front and Beach Road. Previous reports were positive about Soy 6-1 but I could see nothing but lady boys roaming around. For a legitimate massage try Arisa on Soy 6-1. A good number of places on Soy 6-1 are actually back entrances for the places on Soy 6 which I toured a few times both day and night. The many rough & ready bar girls were not a bit to my liking. I go to bed early so never surveyed the streetwalkers on Beach Road nor visited the Walking Street. While not a disappointment I am highly unlikely to every return to Pattaya because overall it is not my scene since I far prefer spending my P4 P money at soapies. Dear Colleagues!
Good news! The Coconut Bar is back in business. The stalls are gone and the girls are back at work.
My regular wanted to go out dancing tonight and I was way too pooped for another long night after NYE so a window of opportunity opened up after we parted after dinner for me to check out BR.
I as there form 9-10 PM. Numbers are at about 50%. Mostly trannies and grannies. I did the walk form Mike's to WS and saw only a few I would do.

Yes you paid too much and IMO it was due to a combination of factors: you're a newbie, it was Christmas time and the beer bars near the entrance of Walking Street are a tourist trap.
But the girl was OK and you had a good time and that is what matters in the end so what the hell.
Don't worry, we've all gone through that stage and we've all learned from it. After a couple of visits to Pattaya you'll get to know the drill. You've only scratched the surface a little bit this time.

Mate the bar name is Blue Bar, it is right in front of a Russian joint. Once you enter walking street this is the first place on your left where you hear good rock music and the sound will definitely pull you in if you love rock. Its after Mandarin if I remem well. I had SML (San Miguel Lite, thanks to Nattys post that I wanted to drink this beer and I just love it now) during entire trip in BKK and PYX and it was 120 baht a pint.

I find that many people seem to be paying 1k as the next step up from the old price, which was (and remains, for some of us, particularly in the off season) 500 baht, basically because 'one thousand' is the first bid out of most of the younger girl's mouths nowadays. I've only your pic to go by, but from that pic I'd guess your girl would have easily gone for 700 or so. Anyway that's what I've paid for some of the younger, cuter girls on the beach. I was down on Walking Street, New Year Eve, usually I take my bike regardless of the heavy traffic but noticed and got reports on the Darkside there might be road checks so in the end took a motorbike taxi. Wanted to get a bit to eat at the Beergarden but no luck not a seat to be found. In the end, just opt for the first food place into W. S. On the right. Consider it a greasy spoon place.
W. S. Was packed I started off at Sensation to say Happy New to a old friend with a few drinks but even with the high BF she was gone already. Next went to the Star also to see a old friend she was just leaving with customer so I save a few baht not buying drinks here. Aside from the girl the Mamasan (TOM) really aggressive when it comes to tipping for nothing? So, next Happy G. G. Double BF at 1600 for LT, and girls asking 5-6000 baht flying off the shelf. After one drink, I was headed to my final stop Bacarra, but before going in I decided to stand outside end of walkway for Happy. There is a new bar Crazy House open right at the entrance good place to order a drink and just watch. W. S. Was wall to wall people. You can spot lots of FL walking back and forth, many right across from me at the Roo Bar.
After about a half hour I went into Bacarra, I had already made arrangements to meet my regular there at a certain time. Really surprise to actually see not that busy because the majority of girls had already been BF, majority for LT, at 1600 BF and 5-6000 for the top girls and I can say they were not all being BF by Asians. Many of the girls are locked in during this two week period no days off and the not so popular girls are left to deal with the leftovers. I had already made my plans and the few girls I normally buy drinks for had not been BF, and as expected, cough up the 1600 BF and slipped it to me to BF them so they could come allow to a place that is normally venture by Thais that have a live Thai band and good food. Considering that there were maybe 3 girls on all of BR I would do and that she was, IMHO, the best one I thought this was more than fair.

As long as you're not pushing under the going rate (which is 500-700 baht for BR), you won't have a lousy session. Of course, some girls give lousy service anyway, regardless of what you pay them. In fact, if she pushes too hard for more than the going rate, that's the prime indicator she'll be lousy (all focused on maximizing revenue, not just being relaxed / fun / compliant for the standard fee plus a possible tip).

Tipping only works for repeat customers. Unless everyone tips for good service (which is probably not the case), the girls will not take a "tip" into account when providing their service. Actually, human psychology is such that tipping / bonuses (above the base salary) work best if they're variable and unpredictable, only somewhat correlated to work performed. This applies to creative work, where people can take some pride in being good (which hooking is at some level), not to precisely measurable soulless stuff like making identical items on a production line.
So, for tips to work, it's enough that a fair proportion of customers tip, not that they all do. In fact, if all people tipped consistent amounts, it would become an expectation and fail to have a strong effect. On the other hand, if almost nobody tips (or "tips" are standard upsells, pay X for BBBJ, pay why for me to be nice), it's just an odd curiosity and doesn't work either.
There's a fair amount of academic research on this topic (intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation, effect of bonuses), although obviously, not much directly related to prostitution.

An unspecified "tip" for unspecified "good service", is not going to change much. Usually, when I tried that approach it only resulted in a higher likelihood of an argument when payment is due. If you dangle the tip ahead of time, they'll virtually always feel they deserved it, and that it ought to be higher than what it is.
The attitude is key, I'd much rather be with a girl who is generally fun, but may not do much of a BBBJ than with a grumpy one who'd obviously rather be elsewhere, but formally / minimally complies.
In my experience, unless you're a frequent customer, any provider is generally going to do her usual thing, determined by her general environment / personality / chemistry between you two. Stuff you talk about beforehand, or paying above the going rate, is rarely going to have much of an effect.
We're lucky in the Farang-oriented market in Thailand that people tip vastly varying amounts. In some markets (for instance, PRC hookers elsewhere in the region), nobody tips except in the form of extorted more-or-less standard upsells, and service is generally poor.
Personally, I only tip when a girl goes above and beyond the requirements because I feel it's decent that I reciprocate and go above and beyond as well. Not as an incentive for good service, since, in my experience, that does not work in individual cases (although people tipping does have an effect in aggregate within the entire market segment).

If you are at Soi Baukhao, right at Soi Diana corner there is a 7/11 at the corner of Soi Leng Kee. Walk past the 7/11 down Soi Baukhao there is a Kodak shop, they do some printing of Business cards.
There is another on 3rd Road Soi 13, if you are at Soi Baukhao the Tony bar and gym across from them is a Soi. There is a 7/11 on the corner. Go down that long Soi it leads to 3rd Road, at the end make a left, walk down a little just before Soi 13 is a small shop on left that does printing.
On Pattaya Klang, the Soi where Big c extra is located, at the corner of 3rd Road on the corner is a shop for Hormone Treatment, start to walk up toward Big c, a few doors up is another print shop. If you walk past the large green massage building you have already passed it.
Being Sunday, I believe the only one that might be open is the Kodak. All three not sure if they can meet your deadline. The Kodak might be your best bet since they deal with falangs more due to the area. The other two is much more Thai and might charge you higher than normal?

I have a couple of questions (of course).
First, thanks for all the info I have found reading through the Pattaya forum. I only had time to read back about 50 pages to the end of September. I have been visiting Pattaya and SE Asia since late in 2001. But my last visit to Pattaya was a weekend stop in the summer of 2012.
So there have been some big changes and a lot of other things have remained pretty much the same. Here is what I think I learned from your posts. Please correct me where I am mistaken.
1. Prices have shot through the roof! I bar-fined 2 average looking ladies for 1500 Baht each for LT. I took them from Silver Star GoGo on Soi 8 and they were a lot of fun. That was the 2012 visit. Now LT from the GoGos is $4000 B. Ouch! I hope that is just on Walking Street.
2. There is a whole new class of venues for me to explore. At least they are new to me, for example the so-called Gentleman's Clubs. From the posts I have read they don't sound to be much different than the establishments on Soi 6 except that they are more scattered and more difficult to get to. Also, the posts regarding these venues indicate they can be quite sleazy so I have no option but to visit them. I just have to figure out how to get to them.
3. I will probably explore both Devils Den and the Dream Teen venues. Again, new to me. A little pricey, but this will be my last "vacation" to the LOS.
4. Action on Soi Bukao, Soi Honey and LK Metro. It has been a while, I just don't remember that much going on or if I even explored these areas in the past. I will now! Thanks to you guys! I have maps and descriptions of many places of interest to me due to your reports.
5. Sensations. I read a lot of posts but I am unclear about what this venue is all about. Are you discussing freelancers in a gogo or is it a disco with Mamasans? Where is this establishment on Walking Street?
6. Insomnia, Mixx, etc. For freelancers. Should I even bother? I am 63 years old. I'm not grotesque, I am not over weight, but I am realistic. Forget the dance floor. I just want to find a cutie for ST / LT.
7. Beach Road Street Walkers. So the price is right. I have walked the road many, many times. Almost all of the girls were not acceptable to me. That is just my opinion and things on Beach Road may have changed. I like walking so maybe I will find that diamond on BR.
8. The Dark Side. This set of venues may have to wait until my move this coming Fall.
9. Pattaya is an adventure and things have truly changed.
So this visit has a dual purpose. I think my list of "learned things" above indicates my first purpose fairly clearly. To maximize my apparent objective I will need to procure one of the generic Cialis (Tadalafil) products. Unlike the barfines and ST / LT tips; the prices for these ED pharmaceuticals have plummeted from the original brand. I could walk from pharmacy to pharmacy asking if they have the product. But, I would like my first day spending more of my time looking for my first cutie than walking in and out of pharmacies. I will be staying on Soi 2. If anyone can recommend a specific pharmacy with a name and location near or not so near where I am staying I would seriously appreciate the advice.
My second purpose for this visit concerns a much more important objective for me and it is the primary reason for my upcoming visit. I will retire on April 30th. I need to research living arrangements in Pattaya / Jontiem. I am looking to spend somewhere in the range of 10,000 Baht to 17,000 Baht per month. My long term visits will start in the fall after I obtain a retirement visa.
I have done some limited research on the web. From what I have seen, it appears that I can find something quite acceptable in that price range for either a Studio or a 1 bedroom condo. I tried to find a forum on ISG that dealt with this issue and I was unsuccessful. If there is a better place for this query, please tell me.
Otherwise, any suggestions concerning how to go about my research both here in San Francisco and in Pattaya will be very much appreciated.

I have a couple of questions (of course).
My second purpose for this visit concerns a much more important objective for me and it is the primary reason for my upcoming visit. I will retire on April 30th. I need to research living arrangements in Pattaya / Jontiem. I am looking to spend somewhere in the range of 10,000 Baht to 17,000 Baht per month. My long term visits will start in the fall after I obtain a retirement visa.
I have done some limited research on the web. From what I have seen, it appears that I can find something quite acceptable in that price range for either a Studio or a 1 bedroom condo. I tried to find a forum on ISG that dealt with this issue and I was unsuccessful. If there is a better place for this query, please tell me.
Otherwise, any suggestions concerning how to go about my research both here in San Francisco and in Pattaya will be very much appreciated.

1. Prices have shot through the roof! I bar-fined 2 average looking ladies for 1500 Baht each for LT. I took them from Silver Star GoGo on Soi 8 and they were a lot of fun. That was the 2012 visit. Now LT from the GoGos is $4000 B. Ouch! I hope that is just on Walking Street.
2. There is a whole new class of venues for me to explore. At least they are new to me, for example the so-called Gentleman's Clubs. From the posts I have read they don't sound to be much different than the establishments on Soi 6 except that they are more scattered and more difficult to get to. Also, the posts regarding these venues indicate they can be quite sleazy so I have no option but to visit them. I just have to figure out how to get to them.
5. Sensations. I read a lot of posts but I am unclear about what this venue is all about. Are you discussing freelancers in a gogo or is it a disco with Mamasans? Where is this establishment on Walking Street?
6. Insomnia, Mixx, etc. For freelancers. Should I even bother? I am 63 years old. I'm not grotesque, I am not over weight, but I am realistic. Forget the dance floor. I just want to find a cutie for ST / LT.
7. Beach Road Street Walkers. So the price is right. I have walked the road many, many times. Almost all of the girls were not acceptable to me. That is just my opinion and things on Beach Road may have changed. I like walking so maybe I will find that diamond on BR.
Re 1: The prices elsewhere in Pattaya are lower, for example in the LK Metro area. But in general the prices have gone up all over town.
Re 2: You have have no option but to visit them? You dirty pervert, LOL! The easiest way to get to them is to take a moto bike taxi. Or you have to figure out (by asking your hotel staff for example) how to get there by baht bus, if that is possible anyway. Don't take a taxi, they will ask a ridiculous price.
Re 5: Sensations is just an agogo but one of the bigger ones with (expensive) coyotes. It's approximately at one third down Walking Street on your right hand side.
Re 6: Yes you should bother or at least give it a try. If you can stand the noise, better bring your ear plugs.
Re 7: Yes, quality has gone down but you can still find a diamond in the rough on BR. But just not so often anymore unfortunately.

Teltel.Thank you Teltel for responding to my email. There are scams and scammers everywhere unfortunately. Pattaya, Thailand, SE Asia the USA where I will be coming from and the whole world. I hope to be exceptionally cautious. I won't be making spontaneous decisions without consulting with everyone who is willing to talk to me and with lots of research.
I had a very, very good friend that I hooked up with on my 3rd visit to Thailand 11 years ago. He was a really nice fellow. He moved from the USA to Pattaya and met this farang guy in a bar. The guy told my friend he could lease a hotel from him and my friend would clean-up. The hotel was on the hill between Pattaya and Jontiem. It was in the middle of friggin' no where. It wasn't near transportation, it wasn't near the water and it had no view. (I stayed there for a couple of nights.) So my friend never had any customers. He spent an extraordinary amount for the stupid lease. I asked my friend to do some research on the guy before he signed up for the "deal of a lifetime". He told me that the guy had a huge boat that he road up and down off Pattaya Beach. I told him that the boat came from scamming farangs. I literally begged him not to do this thing. Of course he did it anyway. He was out of business in 4 months. He lost everything. He lived miserably and slowly drank himself to death. He passed away 3 years ago.

I think I must be the king of bad timing. I arrive on Saturday the 17th. I depart for Chiang Mai on the morning of the 27th. I would have joined the Soi 6 crawl for sure. I know Soi 6 pretty well. But, it would have been fun until I fell on my face after the first 10 or 12 bars. The Gentleman's Club crawl is something that I would really like to do. I may have to change my flight to Chiang Mai and extend my visit for a day.
I am going to go to any expat meeting that I can during this upcoming visit. The visit is about learning about living in Pattaya. Extracurricular activities are going to be a big time bonus of course. So thanks for that.
I am seriously considering Jontiem. I think I will need a car if I go that route.

Quitting smoking has proved easier than quitting being a dirty pervert. Yeah, I'll probably have to take moto taxis. I hate that. There is the potential for death at every intersection! I'll just have to close my eyes and deal. I will find a way to visit these venues one way or another!
I'm all up for the Soi Bukao, Soi Honey and LK Metro venues. I can't experience them if I don't do some walk-a-bouts through these Sois.

Poster on a competing site recommend three daytime gogo's. Thought I'd check them out. Actually went twice to them. He was high on Vegas III on soi 13/1, said it had the best lineup. I first went in the evening, only 6 ladies available. Nice that 2 were nekkid and on their knees in front of their customers. The ladies were average at best, older, chubbier. Had one beer and left. I returned 3 p today, Almost a repeat of my previous trip, but no ladies on their knees nor nekkid. 7 ladies available, most occupied. Still average at best, and chubby, a couple younger ones. 3 with nice asses. 50 baht draft beer.
His second best lineup: Far East Agogo on soi 13/2. I went there 10:30 p just to see where it was at. Went in just to get a beer. Only 2 ladies present. Sat down anyway, Bar hag, very rudely tells me, they're going to close soon. OK, when I ask what time they open tomorrow, she ignores me and walks toward the entrance. She returns and asks rudely if I want a beer. HUH? I left. No sure if I'll return.
Third one he liked is Miami agogo also on soi 13/2. Weak lineup when I first visited one late afternoon. Thought the ladies looked older. Had a 50 baht draft, and left. Returned today, and it was hopping with a lot of crouch grabbing going on. 6-8 ladies present, all occupied. There's a nice cute one with a pair of natural 36 the's. Mix of young and old ladies. LD are shot: 130 baht, Beer 200 Baht, Special 250 baht. BF: 600 weekday, 800 weekend, 1000 special. Since everyone was busy, had 1 beer and left. I'll return.

Logistics:
I flew Cathay Pacific for the second time, I was impressed with crew and the food. This time of year is the worst time to fly West because of the strong head winds, 14+ hours to Hong Kong, another 3 to BKK; it sucked. Thank god for my magical purple sleeping pills, I slept most of the way.
I used Mr. Keak taxi service again, 1000 be each way. The driver met me at the airport and we stopped at 7-11 to get adult beverages and a SIM card. The chunky 7-11 manager told me that I could not use my Thai SIM card in my duel SIM card cell phone; fucking idiot. It worked just find, as in every other country where I used the dual card phone.
I was tired as hell and I realized that when I tried to use a bottle opener for my bottles. It was at least five minutes of trying before I realized that my bottles were screw tops! Traffic into Pattaya was a nightmare; thank goodness I had adult beverages to keep me company.
I stayed at my favorite hotel in the world; Penthouse. My old room 518 was remolded and was bigger in size, jacuzzi was larger, and the price was higher as well; fuck it, tis the season. The staff at the hotel is outstanding. No matter what time I woke up, sometimes at three in the afternoon, I was always greeted with, "Good morning sir" when I called for room service. The Thai ice coffee was outstanding to say the least. Nope, I was not attacked by any ladyboys or cockroaches during my entire stay!
The Trip:
This trip was a bit different than in the past. My best sessions were at Kinnaree and my worst sessions were in my room; go figure. After jacuzzi operations, a couple of the girls were so relaxed, they just wanted to sleep; I threw their asses out without giving them a single fucking Baht!
There was a shitload of Asian tour groups every night on walking street. Each group was led around by the tour guide holding up a flag, and they all followed the silly flag. What I wanted to do, but didn't, was to run up and grab one of the flags and then run like hell down walking street. This was my biggest regrets of the trip; not snatching the silly flag!
It seemed all the girls were internet savvy and refused nude photos showing their faces, so I just took a bunch a body shots. I'm not very picky, so I had younger and older ladies. As well as skinny and somewhat chunky ladies. This trip, I did not pull a girl out of a gogo bar. Instead, I pulled girls out of the open-air and smaller bars. I skipped Soi 6 and Soi Metro this trip as well. The large building that had the X-Zone and several other clubs, now only has one gogo bar in the building; which I wasn't impressed with whatsoever.
Overall thoughts:
Pattaya was packed! Tourists, mongers, and more importantly, 1000's and 1000's of women. Almost everywhere I looked, there were spinners and stunners. I must have said, "Oh my Buddha!" a thousand times during the trip. The Russians were down in numbers big time, but the Asian tour groups filled in the gaps on walking street.
I've been going to the LOS since 1978, at least one or more times a year. The last couple of trips have been OK, and I need more than OK at this stage of my life. I think after all these years, I did all I could in Pattaya and BKK, and it is unlikely I could top any of my adventures now or in the future. So, I bid farewell to the LOS. I have the best travel memories that will last me until my number is called.

I have no idea about the line up though, they never allowed me in even though I had a farang friend waiting inside LOL. Never went back there since.

The first thing your eyes adjust to are the bikinis glowing in the neon lights. I forget if it's a 1 pm or 2 pm start.

The same back in Nov. I thought the same thing, I wanted to grab one of those stupid flags and start walking to see if idiots would follow me. I thought it was disgusting to see family's with children and elders on Walking Street. It reminded me of Disneyland except Snow White had to wear a long dress at Disneyland. Anyway, if that wasn't bad enough the huge buses that they came in clogged up Beach Road to a slow moving parking lot. I think I must be the king of bad timing. I arrive on Saturday the 17th. I depart for Chiang Mai on the morning of the 27th. I would have joined the Soi 6 crawl for sure. I know Soi 6 pretty well. Never wait more than 5 minutes, just stand after one of the traffic lights. 60-80 baht to Ban Chang bars. Parking makes a car a pain in the ass. On weekends and holidays Bangkok condo owners flood down and there is no parking left at our building.
I've been going to the LOS since 1978, at least one or more times a year. The last couple of trips have been OK, and I need more than OK at this stage of my life. I think after all these years, I did all I could in Pattaya and BKK, and it is unlikely I could top any of my adventures now or in the future. Then, if money is not an issue for you, you pay whatever you need to in order to keep the relationship strong. Sadly, inevitably it will fade and you have to start again, sigh, and hope you find it again.

What you describe is not at all the 80/20 rule, but rather a version of the normal distribution (aka the Bell curve or Gauss curve / function), i.e. 68% of any normal distribution is close to the average, a further 27% is either much better or worse than average and a final 5% is unbelievable bad or good.
The 80/20 rule is related to the Pareto function and was originally based upon the fact that about 80% of wealth is owned by only 20% of people. It has been extended to mean that you have to invest 20% of time / effort to obtain 80% of results, but need 80% of time / effort to get the final 20%.
Perhaps the Pareto principle applies to girls' prices as well: you pay 1000 baht to get an 80% quality service, but to get all you want, you need at least to pay 4000 baht more. :)

All were very dark too dark for my touch plus none of the appeal to me.
Being surprise somewhat I was not the only one. On the rockit map, is the correct location near Soi Batman. I'm not sure how well you know Pattaya, but get on a 10 Baht bus going west on Second Road, going away from WS. Get off when you see a big building on your right that has "TOA" on it's side. Across the street is a small nameless Soi, Go to it, there will be a construction site on your left. Go right at the end of that nameless Soi. Go past the LK Grand Living Place, the road will turn to the left. Keep walking and you'll see the red telephone booth on the left. Press the buzzer to get in. It supposedly opens at 9a closes at 12a. After 12a, walk back to the "TOA" building, next to it is an open air restaurant. MotoTaxi's can be found there. Best of luck.
You have me confused. 2nd road runs from south to north. Take baht bus east on Pattaya South road running away from Walking Street. One can be caught just east of second road in front of the temple, across from the school. Suggest motorbike taxi on first trip. I was there a week ago. No lookers, much better quality at the boom boom massage places on Soi Honey for about same price.Yes, you are correct sir! It's go east on South Pattaya Rd. I took 2 different mototaxis to it on 2 different occasoons, they didn't know where it was. Language barrier did not help.

No the languages spoken in both countries are different. Hindi is the predominant language (although there are more than 20 languages spoken in different states) in India whereas Nepali is the more common language in Nepal. There are several such words common in both languages. It also helps that largely being a Hindu nation, their language derives several attributes from Sanskrit. Sanskrit, of course is an old language and is not spoken by the masses, a simpler and more derivative language, Hindi, is more prevalent.
In fact, one word in Thai which I remember for "age" is "ayu" which is a Sanskrit word as well which is common to India (there could be some others too). While I will not deny that several states closer to the Nepal border will have people who are conversant in the Nepali language, it is more common for Nepali people to understand Hindi or at least some other Indian language. Also, quite a few Indians stay and work in Nepal, so locals there are more attuned to Indian dialects. Perhaps linguists can clarify further.
My limited understanding of the commonalities in the languages comes from the Nepali WGs that I meet in Delhi from time to time and I have never faced a language barrier (although I can't understand or speak Nepali). These girls are not long term residents but the churn rate is high for visiting WGs.

I've always gone to the 'Kodak camera shop' along the left side of second road since it was recommended to me over a decade ago as having the 'best rate'. Its sort of opposite Big C there, a little further down, just before what used to be 'Soi Zero', before Soi Zero was closed off.
I actually don't know if their rate is the best, though it is quite good, but there's something nicely dubious about changing money in a supposed film shop that has no film or cameras in it, and no outward sign of being an exchange shop. It certainly makes you feel like it aught to be a good rate, as it feels very mafia-esque.

Then exchange at one of the independent (meaning not linked to a big bank) exchange booths anywhere in Bangkok or Pattaya. The difference between those money exchangers is too small to really bother.

A few answers:
1. Don't know, don't care. I prefer the complete sexual act with a pretty girl which includes, but is not limited to a BBBJ.

If you want a long morning jog or walk check out 5 km long Jomtien Beach. Just go to South Rd. (Pattaya Tai) & 2nd. Rd. (Pattaya Sai Song) were you will see a long line of baht buses. They fill and leave from the north end by the intersection. Stay on the bus to the end of the route, 10 baht, then start walking back nw. When the road turns right that is the start of the gay beach. If you want a rest sit in one of the beach concession chairs for 30 baht and order a drink. Keep an eye out for young Russian super models when choosing a place to plant yourself for a few relaxing hours. My first year vacationing here I stayed on 2nd road by WS and did this routine for 2 months. After that I started staying in Jomtien and visiting Pattaya at night.

In that case I suggest you choose your hotel carefully as a lot of them are in noisy 'night owl' areas.
One of the hotels on Second Road Soi 13 would be a good choice. Or Second Road Soi 10 towards Beach Road (not too close to Second Road because there are beer bars there) but they are more expensive.

Went to Crystal and there is no less than three perfect 9's. One of them is number 300 I think, almost could not tell the Asian traits, she looked almost Latin, thin and great breast. 30 minute walk from Walking Street to Soi 6 is my guess. If you take the baht bus you look for the street sign on the left that says Soi 6/1 then ring the bell. The next street is Soi 6. If you see McDonald's on the left you have gone too far.

I steer clear of the traditional blowjob bars. I don't find the girls attractive, and the business model is too clinical for me. I realize "go in, get off, and get going" aspect is part of the attraction for many guys. Just not my cup of tea. If I'm in the mood for a blowjob, I head for Soi 6. There are enough girls there I can usually find one I think is cute. I have the option of going straight upstairs, or sitting down for a drink and letting the girl "convince" me we should get down to business. Walking Street is not my favorite place to hang out during the day. I much prefer to kill time in the central part of Pattaya, at one of the many places along Soi Buakaow. But if I have to pick a place to chill out "near" Walking Street, I'd recommend the Pattaya Beer Garden.
With respect to whiling away the daylight hours, as the Thais like to say "up to you. " Seriously. No matter what you like to do on holiday you can probably do it in Pattaya (or nearby). I'm not one those ultra-active, wildly-adventurous guys who are always uploading GoPro videos to YouTube. So I'll leave it to others to weigh in on "extreme" leisure time activities. I prefer to soak up Pattaya's laid back beach vibe. Toward that end I recommend spending at least one afternoon on the sand under an umbrella. I also like the pub scene, especially the Butcher's Arms and the Swan. They have great breakfasts, comfortable dining rooms and free wi-fi so I can get a little work done. If you like to shop, especially for electronic gadgets, visit the legendary Tukcom, which is very close to Walking Street. Before you start your evening on the town, watch the sun set over the water from the rooftop bar at the Baraquda Hotel.
Finally, keep in mind that Pattaya's naughty boy scene is very different to what you are used to at home. It's orders of magnitude bigger and some parts of it (Soi 6 and the "hands on" go go clubs on Walking Street) are very much "in your face. " Almost everybody is a little overwhelmed at first. My single piece of advice is to relax, get outside your head and do as much as you feel comfortable with. Reading the traffic here is very helpful, but some guys start to think the "have" to do X, why and Z. Not so. It's your holiday. Do what you want to do.

Went last night not far from W. S. Off Pattaya Tai to a place called Montana Gent. Club. Pretty much a place like Telephone Bar, Club 4. They run in two shifts and open around 2 pm, another shift of girls come at around 7-8 pm, nothing special around 8 girls I could see only one appeal to me.

Walking Street will overwhelm you at first. It did did for me. With your adrenalin pumping, the thumping music, the flashing lights and the girls and touts coming at you from everywhere it can leave you on the verge of a panic attack.

Bangkok is a whole new Ballgame. I understand it. But Pattaya is a Resort town and just like Hawaii when I visit I come out in shorts. What I agree most with the comments are there are guys that go out and with money that smell and look like they just came off the beach playing volleyball like deodorant did not exist. I been in places in Bangkok and seen guys dress up nine yards but when they open their mouth, what I see is a serious case of gum disease or guys trying to be something they aren't, dying their hair jet black yet their face look like a old pitcher glove or better yet a comb over like no one is going to noticed.
Living here, the beauty is I love to wear what I've always wanted, shorts everyday 24/7. When I go to Bangkok, it is in shorts, I visit the Embassy I wear shorts, I go to night clubs I wear shorts never have a second thoughts about it nor do I care if a club Mixx stops me.

Really excited for my first trip to Thailand. My mongering experience entails a couple trips to Sosua in the DR but Pattaya seems like it will be a whole new ballgame. I'm a 39 yr old American teaching in China. Thanks for all the great information provided on here. I arrive in Bangkok at 11:15 pm on the 7th of February. My hotel is offering to pick me up for 1800 which seems like a lot. I'm staying at OZO Pattaya. I hope that it's not too far out of the way. I looked at some other hotels that were recommended but they were either out of my price range or booked. If I just pick up a taxi out of the airport in Bangkok, how likely are they to find my hotel in Pattaya?

LB you are obviously a class act and what I was saying does not apply to you as, from what I read, it seems that you are a gentleman and do put the right amount of effort in your appearance. I stand corrected that shorts can also be classy, though I don't think I would ever wear them to a disco. That's just me.
I would never hit a place like I-bar without taking a shower and in beach bum attire because it would make me feel gross and uncomfortable to myself first. Bar girls and their opinions are a secondary consideration.Wearing short also comes in handy using a bathroom especially if it is not a sit down? The big plus especially with the golf shorts they are are light, super comfortable dry quickly. Before the wet season ended going to the Lone star for Baby Back ribs one night with a bunch of guys on motorbike it was not raining on the darkside as soon as we came down Pattaya Klang, super large downpour everyone was soak to the bones including me but before dinner was over I was already dried.
The biggest plus of all. My shorts are somewhat flexible and it allows me even at my age to do a good split, back flip, and a decent moon walk at a disco? 555.

Look fellas you guys are beating a dead horse to death? Not everyone wearing shorts is smelly etc. If this is the only defense you guys have get another one. It does not take a rocket scientist or a lot of common sense to understand given the choice to a girl she rather go with a guy that does not smell. I was recently sitting with a stunner why she was sitting with me I have no idea and another girl slightly a notch below. The stunner her breath was like WOW, I'm getting dizzy baby, and the other great fun. Guess who I choose not rocket science.
I'm been in a few situation not at places like I-BAR, but at Isaan Bars, that other girls with my shorts and etc. Even at my age give me looks just as noted by Skogis situation. A few years back I took a girl from the Darkside a regular, the longer I was seeing her I noticed she took advantage of situation like telling me not to see others in her bar etc. But I notice whenever she was with me when I was talking you could see or feel her looking elsewhere for other customers it was a bad habit / ignoring plus I was getting tired or her. I told her here is some taxi money and went over to another table where I knew some other girls from a go go and drank with them.
Now I don't know if I smell, my breath was bad, I was not handsome enough for her any longer or just too old, or wearing shorts showing my chicken legs but there are just too many fishes in the sea to worry about who might go or pick me because of my shorts. To end, I do not wear T-shirts out always got a collar.

I allways read debates regarding grooming and clothing with interest and to myself that means I take my pride in beeing well groomed and nicely dressed. As others if I will visit nightclubs I dress in cool jeans, nice shoes and collared shirt. This is mandatory in Hi so nightclubs in BKK but I still wear them even going to more FL directed venues. Pattaya very well be a resort town but I doubt anyone would show up in Hawais Honululu hottest nightspot wearing shorts and flip flops. But each to his own. In various venues the best stunners can allways choose and even if most of them are there for the money but atleast if it is a draw between a young nicely fit and well dressed stud and a filthy fat bad smelling old hairy victoria bitter singletwearing hunk in their offering I bet in 1001/1000 the stunner choose the first one. I don't think they even have to be the top stunners picking like this. That beeing said i dont give a shit how other mongers dress ofcourse. We are all different. Mostly i wear shorts in warm countries this is only reflecting my views for the clubbing. In places like Hillary3 BKK soi 11 i can ofcourse very well pop in for a cold brew in shorts and flip flops(sorry i dont have any names for u regarding pattis as i only go nightclubs in pattis and 2 days max)...
A couple of weeks ago I was in Insomnia. Showed up a Monday morning around 1 am and the place was pumping. People nursing their one beer was occupying tables so when I ordered my usual btl service the staffs got me a table seating by the wall all by myself. It is nice to relax a moment to get pumped up and ship a few drinks before picking out tonights victim. Speaking about victims! At the table infront of me (close to the small dancing stage) I saw this stunning girl with a guy looking as described above (he had another singlet brand though). I never try to pick a girl occupied so I just looked at her (as I believe we all do), felt sorry for her and moved on to my own business. While I was drinking a few girls came over to my table for the interviewroutine and chemistry check. I could not help to notice the mentioned girl (the most beautiful I did see present, without me seeing them all of them ofcourse as it is dimmed lights, dance stage blocking views to the oposite wall, atleast part of it) was looking away from his bloke and towards me. A few times the bloke catched her in looking at other guys as well and he grabbed her hand hard and shook her. What he was saying I don't know but he did not look happy so it was probably not anything nice. At one point he obviously had to go somewhere so I saw he pointed his fingers towards her probably ordering her to stay at the table and not move. My eyes were only dragged to their table because of his stupid behaviour as he drawed himself to the attention. I also saw other people reacting. When he finaly left her alone for a while I tried on purpose not to look at her. At one point I did and she smiled to me and jumped our to my table. Almost before she arrived my table and without us beeing able to say anything this old bloke jumped out from somewhere and dragged her away. He eyeballed me as in a threatning way but I did not mind and just smiled to him. I could smell his very bad cologne with the mix of a heavy smell of sweat. Poor girl. In another world where I was a cockblocker or a,guy stealing other mens girls I would have done it here. She was lovely. In this world I could not. I felt in a way saving her in a smart funny way but all in all I guess this happens anywhere and many times a day so I did put it to rest.
So in short if you are a smelling old fart with no sense of normal behaviour don't take your pricewife / BF / GF whatsoever and atleast not take her to a pretty decent nightclub as Insomnia (not perfect but in Pattis standards it is good) surrounded with good looking-, well dressed-, fairly young- and most importantly, nice people. If you can not live up to those standards stay at a side soi bar. If you are afraid of loosing your girl you should think about that prior to going out. Poor girl. Flaming ends.So the moral of the story was? He still did her later that night. Maybe in the morning and next afternoon too.

Smelly didn't start smelling when he got to the Disco, nor did he change to shorts when he got there. It was her choice and in the end she got paid Smelly or not.

Walking Street is a bit further away but not really far, you can either walk all the way (15 min.) or walk to Beach Road and take a bath bus from there.
If you print out the hotel's address, preferably in Thai, then it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Try to find a driver from Pattaya in the arrival hall who has just dropped of a customer. He will be happy to drive you for about 1000 to 1200 bath. But please negotiate and ask if the highway tolls are included or not!
Alternatively you can arrange a taxi in advance. There are several email addresses mentioned on this forum of reliable drivers.

Everyone knows that the sex game, even the paid sex game, is 99 percent mental. So as far as I'm concerned your attire matters less than your ATTITUDE. Thais prefer to hang out with people who are "sanook," which means fun or enjoyable. They prefer leisure time activities which are sanook. One of the nicest compliments a Thai can bestow is to say you are "jai dee," which loosely translated means you have a "good heart." Again, the emphasis is on attitude, empathy, consideration, and, dare I say, sensitivity.
So my advice to Mr. 19, is to wear whatever the hell he wants during his maiden trip to Pattaya. But work hard to be fun and to have a good heart, whether he's dealing with the working girls, the service girls, the old ladies fixing him a bowl of noodles or that gritty motorcycle taxi guy. As others have noted, the 80 percent experience should be easy to come by. So don't worry about that last 20 percent. You are on holiday, after all. For somebody who says he's never ever spent time on the naughty boy circuit, the first trip to Pattaya will be overwhelming enough.

My dear friend that is a downright racist comment. I am an Indian and have traveled a lot and in many countries including Thailand several times. I have never even once been rejected due to my ethnicity. It's a matter of personal hygiene and attitude. I have come across a lot of smelly characters in all countries I have traveled to, but I don't link that as their national character. There are guys who are clean, smell nice and are dressed in a decent attire and generally well behaved in all countries and then there are the smelly, arrogant ones also. So let us not generalize.

Like I indicated " keep it in perspective" It is not just Indians, I know and met people here maybe from reading things about Thailand that you can always bargain everything down it sticks to your head and then there are the stubborn one who will not listen and get offended at the mention.
I was like this once. I did it unconscious. Was in Bangkok staying at Nana, I walked all the way to the US Embassy it was over a 100 degrees. Once done we came outside and decided lets take a tuk tuk back, yes tuk tuk that was how long it was, the guy said 50 baht I usually pay 30 baht, so decided to walk back thinking I was getting ripped off for 20 baht more. When I got back I laugh at myself thinking what a stupid fuck I was.
I've seen guys run around town looking to save 5 baht on a Broom. But have no problem of paying double for pussy or have their 4 cups of coffee at Starbucks?To LittleBigman.
I like to walk in while I am in China and asia you sweat it out get a good work out not to save a few bht, I lose about 15 lb on my last trip now back in the US gain it all back.
