If you can't have fun in Pattaya and think Angeles is better, you need to check your compass.Sorry, I know that I am the odd man out about this but so far at least, Pattaya sucks when it comes to P4 P. I wouldn't tell other guys not to come here though because I'm sure 998 out of the next 1000 first time male visitors to this town will have a blast. I just happen to be one of those two OTHER guys. I've been in Pattaya since Saturday but I haven't been with any girl yet (except for lackluster visits to Bliss BJ Bar and a dinky massage parlor). Why?
This first trip has been terrible so far but I blame myself. I only came to Thailand because I was returning to the Philippines (which is heaven to me because I am obsessed with Pinays). The ones who were attractive either looked like Filipinas or darker skinned Korean women. I know that I'm in the minority but that's just my preference. So now that I'm here I realize I should have gone with my gut feeling and skipped the trip. Being here and seeing these women face to face did NOT improve their looks.
Now there are a lot of pretty Thai ladies who aren't 4000 baht short time gogo girls. Unfortunately, they are almost always men. This is a situation that I think is unique to Thailand. Yes, trannys are in every city but not to the ridiculous degree that I've seen here in Pattaya. But things are looking up because in a few short days this nightmare can end and I escape to Angeles to start my REAL vacation.Lou32,

I was pressured to pay upfront.Personally I avoid these clubs, pay all upfront is not the norm in Pattaya. You have to pay upfront only the barfine, the girl is paid at the end of the session.

Buddha day holiday. All of the gogos Soi 6 and beer gardens shut down at midnight last night and will remain shut down until midnight tonight. But it really has not put a damper on anything lights are out and they won't sell alcohol but there are still plenty of girls available and still plenty of this going on.

I overstated the point when I wrote scams (plural). The only outright scam I've encountered was a 2000 baht lesson at Sapphire Agogo. Otherwise its just the usual price gouging that you'd find in any tourist city. I am surprised by how expensive Pattaya is since all I've read is about how inexpensive it is compared to other cities. Baccara Go Go on Walking Street is one of the most popular and successful Go Go's in Pattaya. It has no relation to Baccara Cowboy other than its name. I would say both Baccara bars are must go to bars, but I prefer Sensations and Happy Go Go in Pattaya and Crazy House off Soi Cowboy in BKK.

2. When you agree the price with the girl, pay her the agreed amount and don't try to renegotiate with her once in the room. This is just plain wrong. Also, tip the girl after you have fucked her, on top of the agreed fee. No girl likes a cheap charlie. Tip should be around 300 THB for ST.
3. Treat the girl with respect and at least like a human being. Don't treat her like a dog. I know in your country, where your minds have been fucked by the caste system, hookers are right down the bottom, but don't apply that logic in Thailand. In case you have been living in a cave, Indian punters have a very poor reputation in Pattaya. I'm not an Indian, but I have seen you guys out and about and have spoken to lots of girls. I'm not sure if it's ever going to be recoverable for you guys, but with some effort on your part, you might be able to limit the overt discrimination against you. Please note that I'm not denigrating the Indian race. This advice is meant for newbie Indian punters visiting Pattaya so that they can maximise their pleasure.
1. Don't hold onto your wallet so tightly. Be prepared to tip the girls, waitresses and doormen and buy lady drinks. That's how the service industry works. No girl is going to want to sit with you if you don't buy a lady drink. There are fixed rates for bar fines and commonly accepted rates for the lady's fee. Don't try to negotiate to ridiculous levels as it only pisses the girls off.
2. When you agree the price with the girl, pay her the agreed amount and don't try to renegotiate with her once in the room. This is just plain wrong. Also, tip the girl after you have fucked her, on top of the agreed fee. No girl likes a cheap charlie. Tip should be around 300 THB for ST.
3. Treat the girl with respect and at least like a human being. Don't treat her like a dog. I know in your country, where your minds have been fucked by the caste system, hookers are right down the bottom, but don't apply that logic in Thailand. She is providing you with a service you want, so treat her with some kindness.
4. Don't immediately try to fuck the girl up the ass when you get her into the room. This should be negotiated and no means no. Don't force anal sex on the girl. Also, don't stick your fingers up her ass as most women don't like it.
5. Don't try to hold a gang bang in your room. The girl does not want to enter the room only to find five of your friends waiting inside with their cocks in their hands.
6. Just control yourself and behave respectfully. Yes, there are semi naked women everywhere, but that doesn't mean you can fondle them for free. If you want to squeeze her ass, then slip a THB 100 bill in her g-string. See Point 1 above.
7. Smile a lot and say pleasant things to people. Leave your arrogance, superiority and attitude at home.
8. Bathe, wear deodorant and change your clothes daily. It is a hot country and people tend to stink if they don't shower two or three times a day.This is accurate on all accounts. From last month. I came home on the 19th. So the tum ruat (police) were making their usual rounds to see if there were any workers on Beach road. Bar fines don't depend / change with ST or LT. While BKK has standard bar fines, some Pattaya Go-Gos have sliding bar fines which means that if you bar fine prior to midnight you pay a heavier fine. What you discuss with the girl i.e. ST or LT is up to you. The bar will not ask for a higher bar fine if you take out LT.
Once you go to Bacarra in BKK or Pattaya (Happy) you will find some girls who will refuse to go with you simply stating that they go with Japanese. These girls aren't known to change their minds with offers of higher compensation. But as NB said, lots of pretty ones out there who prefer to go with people of other races.

I've and / or friends have had so many bad experiences (I won't prattle on but in summary these places can really soak you and you get nothing but massive frustration in return) at Baccara and Sensations that I rarely if ever go into those places anymore.
Agree with you re: CH in BKK. I mistakenly thought you were talking about Pattaya's CH.

Sometimes a regular comes in and buys a drink and then your girl will ask you if she can leave for a while, you have two options say NO or ask the girl to return the ticket for your drinks, which you have been buying her for her time.
You could also talk to the mamasan and pay the bar fine early in the evening for pick up post 12 and in that case the girl will only hustle other customers for drinks but she would have been bar fined by you already. I have seen some regulars do this, haven't done it myself and am therefore not sure if mamasan will insist on pre midnight bar fine.

The other night me and Chris Long went to the Walking Street gogo where my girlfriend works and my GF told him a ST and a LT bar fine (correct me if I am wrong CL.) I am not sure how much each one was. He ended up taking the ST option which I think was for 1 hour. The rest he had to negotiate with the girl.
Before we went there, I think it was the same scenario at an LK Metro gogo. Since I don't barfine I was not paying too close attention.

I hear you and I know that mixed in with the transvestites there are a few actual women available. The problem is (and its my fault) I went to the other side of the planet to get with women who aren't attractive. Day1. Arrive in Pattaya. Checkin at LK Resinnance on Soi Diana.

When I go back, I would be spending my afternoons on Soi 6 where the rates are cheaper, and where there are some very attractive ladies. (It would be a good place for three-ways and a place to hire girls to spend the entire day with you sight seeing and having dinner.) I would also spend the night time (after 10 pm) on Walking Street visiting some of the clubs. Afternoons and nighttimes are good to check for free lancers, which you can find standing around WS at night or Beach Road almost anytime from noon to sunrise. In Pattaya, I got some of my best performances from free lancers, but spend time taking to them first to get a feel for what kind of girls they are; be sure they leave their ID with the hotel staff (just in case they try to rip you off); and, of course, makes sure they are real girls. A couple of times I was nearly fooled!
As for what clubs to visit, I read reviews of various clubs here but still ended up visiting a bunch over the week I was there. You can read what I wrote about several, but you will still want to make your own selection. My main advice would be to make friends with the mamasan of any clubs you like. There are simply less and less girls going into the business. Its not like the good old days. For one thing the 18-22 year old generation is very small in Thailand, much smaller than the older generations - its a low-birthrate, aging society. How did it go once you got to the room? Did they give good service? Was it GFE? My only concerns with this direct approach is that I use the initial "interview" to see whether or not there is chemistry. The view times I have had bad service was when I skied this step. You go to a club you pick up a girl you dance the night away, bump, grind and maybe more for a bit then go to your room. Personally the reason I hit the I bar or insomnia is to dance and have fun, ultimately get laid.

But I can also see the rationale behind Mr. E's approach too. FLs at I-bar (and similar establishments) are prettier than beer bar or BR girls. And, on average, they charge less than the top GoGo girls -- though they are just as pretty.
That said I too like to play with illusions and do my fair share of bumping, grinding and making out at the club before taking them home.

I have my fun in the day time by hanging out with friends doing different activities. I am not a bar guy and I don't pay bar fines. I have about 25 bottles of liquor at my place if I want to drink. If I go out at night then it is not to party and have a good time. It is to find a chick to bring back home at 1000 baht LT.
A lot of the girls in the discos already know me and I don't want my business in the street. I tend to play the background then when I see something I want I strike like a cobra and I'm out of there quickly. The girls are there for money and I have no illusions about that. I prefer to cut to the chase instead of pussyfooting around. I save that type of behavior for women who are not hookers.

I suppose I missed it but during my first visit to Pattaya I didn't see anything of interest at the "coconut bar". The general quality of the women was NOT good. Why go there with so many beer bars around? Is there a good time to walk it to find 7s and 8s?A lot of guys like it because it's generally much cheaper than a beer bar; no lady drinks, and no bar fine. But like the old saying goes. You get what you pay for.

How did it go once you got to the room? Did they give good service? Was it GFE? My only concerns with this direct approach is that I use the initial "interview" to see whether or not there is chemistry. The view times I have had bad service was when I skied this step. Though I've also had a very good time with girls that I just took on the fly (but this was mostly from BR where you don't have a lot of time to interview and girls are a bit more direct).

This is exactly how the discos work. I don't know why many mongers have the idea that they must buy drinks and such for a girl and her friends. Many times I wake up in the middle of the night, head to a disco, go up to any random girl and say "Let's go." None of all that interviewing and feeling the girl out stuff that mongers talk about. Yesterday I tried the 3 clubs on the hill: Heanve's, Viper and Kinnaree.
3 pm Heaven's Soi 11 Kasetsin, outside I saw billboard advertising "Friday special party from 3 pm", oh nice I thought maybe they have a pool party in their swimming pool. You must have a very high standard!I don't think that's a high standard, it's just that people who have been in Thailand for long develop an eye for what's average, and what's actually beautiful (and by definition, uncommon).
For reference, take the office girls you see on Bangkok Skytrain during rush hour (20-40 age group), and calibrate so that the average among them is 6-7, with a some number of 8-9 and a rare 10. By this standard, it is rare that I see anyone in Pattaya approaching a 7. Add to that that usually crude and hardened look with tattoos and all (much more pronounced in recent years, not many girls are fresh off the farm), and take off another point or two.
Whenever I go from Pattaya to back to Bangkok and walk among civilian girls (say, at Victory Monument where vans disembark), I am in shock at how awful the Farang oriented nightlife workers look. Fortunately, we do recalibrate fairly quickly when surrounded by available women and aroused, so I might a Pattaya 5 passable (after a few hours of looking at the 3-5 range with a rare 6), although I'd not bother even glancing at her on the Bangkok Skytrain.
Of course, if you compare to an average heifer from USA Midwest or similar places, an ordinary or even frumpy Thai woman of relevant age will be an instant 9 or 10.

Prostitution as such is not illegal in Thailand, although any person who, for the purpose of prostitution, solicits, induces, introduces herself or himself to, follows or importunes a person in a street, public place or any other place in an open and shameless manner or causes nuisance to the public, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand Baht (Section 5 of the law).
Solicitation "in an open and shameless manner" is not allowed and causing a nuisance to the public is also forbidden.
So a girl who sits quietly in a bar and waits until she is approached by a man, acts fully within the law. Even a beach road hooker, who doesn't call you and isn't dressed in a "hooker" style outfit shouldn't have to worry.
Section 8 of the law deals with the prostitute's clients and only those who engage prostitutes below the age of 18 year old can be punished.

One does not "chat to 100+" girls in an agogo club here. For starters, I don't think there are much clubs that have that kind of number of girls.
Even having 10 or more girls in the same club sit with you will be difficult. It is just "not done" here and we want to avoid you getting very disappointed when you transplant your US-style to Thailand.
Usually (at least that is the way I work and it seems pretty common here) one goes to an agogo club (or bar) and first one looks a bit around and check the line-up. In most agogo clubs there will be different groups of dancers but 30 or 40 minutes of watching will make you see them about all and then you can make a mental list of your candidates.
Then when your fav is again on stage, try to catch her eye or ask the mamasan or serving girls to call her out for you. She'll come and sit with you if she is free. You pay her a ladydrink, interview her and if she passes the exam, negotiate price and services. That can take all of 15 minutes, the time for her to finish her drink. If she's not to your liking, smile, thank her for her time but don't buy her another drink. She'll catch the hint easily enough. You can perhaps repeat that with a second girl, but then you will have to leave and go elsewhere. The girls are quick to understand what happens and don't like to be picked, checked-out and rejected. That is a "loss of face" and in Asia that is a big thing. If they see you rejecting a few girls in a row, you will be "tainted". Better go out and try another club or bar.
You see, Thailand is more laid back than US or Europe. It is perfectly OK to do a pub crawl and joke around with the bargirls without intending to take them home. Checked out Oasis short time hotel today. Located off Walking Street on Soi Happy A-GO-GO. I have only been to a couple other short time hotels but this place was 5* in comparison at same 500 b price point.

Brought back memories from my April visit.I do indeed stay at Sunshine Hotels & Resorts. 11th floor with a stunning view of Pattaya bay. I don't mind the individual AC that turns off when I leave the room, except that it's easy to set temperature too low and ending up with an ice box for a room.
Sitting around and relaxing before doing the deed is actually very nice. It might be a worse choice during high season, because I guess the girls are in more of a hurry to get back if you bring them for ST.
