First it was the construction on Hwy 7, around the Chon Buri Interchange to put in more Toll booths and widen the highway that they screw up the first two times. That was the daily event but it is mostly done now so the traffic is starting to run smooth again.
Beginning of the year they started the so call Tunnel on Sukhumvit. The blocked off lanes around Sukhumvit and Pattaya Klang a major road that leads down to Foodland and Big see Extra has been block meaning no right turn down to Beach Road. During the week it isn't so bad until it reach 4-6 in the afternoon.
On Friday and Saturday, especally Friday the traffic is at a stand still starting around 2 pm, it is stop and go from Pattaya Klang all the way down to the Hwy 7, exit. At times it is back up into the Hwy 7 like a parking lot.
Today 23rd is a holiday, Bars are open. The traffic has been at a stand still since 1 pm, the BIB, are overwhelmed closing off roads to push the vehicles into other areas so they do not have to deal with it. This method causing more problems because they just do not know what to do. This happens every holiday and special events which I believe there was maybe a marathon or something!
For Friday and Saturday stay away coming into town unless your driver knows the shortcuts. This will continue since the so call Tunnel will take a few more years to finish.
I'm not finding much with google.com/ flights.
I would LOVE to leave early AM on Monday the 16th, but. It looks like I'll have to leave for BKK early evening on Sunday, which sucks, because I really want that third day there.
Any local data google isn't seeing that has that route in the AM?

I'm not finding much with google.com/ flights.And what exactly makes you think you would find the information on the Pattaya forum? You certainly don't think this is really a travel agency disguised as a mongers' forum, do you?
I am sorry for calling you out this way but please, stick to what the forum is all about sharing experiences of our common hobby in Pattaya. If you want travel advice there is a dedicated forum for that. Posts like this is what discourages people from reading and then they simply end up asking for contact numbers of girls.

Today I received a call. From the number flashing on my mobile's screen I could tell it was a Thailand number. I answered it and the voice at the other end shrieked "you no memolee me na ka?
I was totally at a loss. I could not guess who this was. So I proceeded to say that I had changed my phone recently and hence had lost all my numbers. After a bit more banter the girl identified herself as Nana (very helpful indeed! So some more conversation and I finally figured who it was. And that makes a great story for today.
Circa 2008 Pattaya. I had picked this young 19 yo from Simon 2 on WS, a bar right art the end. Rolling Live 3 I think. Probably the best pick in that trip. Her name was Nana and she was an absolute delight. Fantastic GFE, raunchy sex, foodie to match my appetite and could give me a run for my money on the drinking. She stayed with me for exactly 3 days. On one of those days she popped an idea and I said yes in a heartbeat. The idea was to get away to some small nearby remote island. So she got some food packed, got a few 6 packs and headed down to the beach at around 10.00 am.
She spoke to one of the motorboat chappies and we had a deal at THB 1500 - he would take us to a nearby island that was uninhabited and leave us there for a few hours and then come back and pick us up at a pre-appointed time. So off we went to an island, probably 10 miles west of Coral Island if my sense of navigation was right.
And we were there for 4 hours. I shagged this girl twice on the open beach. She fed me the goodies we had got and drank around 5 cans of beer each. The sex was divine. Absolutely divine. The feeling of having sex on an open beach is simply exhilarating. We swan in water for a bit, frolicked and generally had a very good time. The motorboat chappie came back at 3. 00 pm and I really did not realize it was so late. Back on mainland we went back to the hotel, showered together and had sex again. And then went for a nice Mookata dinner followed by some more drinking and dancing at Hollywood. We returned at around 2. 00 am had sex once more and then slept. The next morning I was returning to BKK so I kissed this lass goodbye and was on my way. I was in touch with her for about 3 years after that and then she suddenly fell of the radar. No messages, no calls, nothing. I called the mamasan at the bar and checked. The mamasan Nim informed me that Nana got married and moved to BKK. Fuck!
Silence for the next 3 years and then this call today brought back all those wonderful memories. To cut a long story short, Nana got married, had a kid, got ditched by her husband and is now back in the trade. But she has lost her mojo completely and I would not hit that ass again. Kinda tragic. She is still quite a good looking lady at 26 and for those who are interested you will find her at Buriram Bar / Ice Bar on Soi 8, Beach Road. Here is a pic from back in the day.

I'd love to give it that a try. I imagine it will cost more than 1500 baht. But an experience like that would be well worth it.
The tough part will be to find a girl as adventurous as your Nana. And I am not talking about the sex. I think many Pattaya girls would be ok with that. But getting a Thai girls to stay out in the sun that long is a real challenge. 555.

Uncle-V.Uncle V you are most welcome. I think it will cost a lot more in present times to get a motorboat and I have not tried that once after that one time. You are correct about Thai girls avoiding the sun. But then, I prefer the ones who are fresh off the boat and have chocolate / olive color skin rather than some of the pale faces in the GoGo bars. Also, you have to be really into the girl and the same should hold for the girl.
Its like getting planetary positions in sync for an eclipse. But when it happens its legendary.

That's a shame your 100 day trip won't happen now. But still 30 days is better than most working stiffs get all year (at least north American ones).
I am really curious about these two options you listed. Colombia vs. East Africa? Previous post you made you mentioned that your plan was about 70% of the days mongering and the others were split between touring and travel days. East Africa? Don't get me wrong Africa is either my favorite or second favorite place to go and that's why I go every year but it is not a mongering vacation spot at all. Yes they are places to get a girl but its more of a sidelight and not the main agenda .... Africa can also be quite expensive if you want to stay somewhere nice too. I was in Tanzania for 3 weeks in 2014. I could not monger because I was constantly with my work colleagues. However, I tried to scout the possibilities like bars, SWs, etc, and found nothing. A word of caution: Zanzibar is a very Muslim place and hostile to non-Muslims unless you are a regular tourist. If I am White or Asian, I would be very careful walking around with an African woman, especially if there is a marked age difference. Just my 2-cents.

I just got in to town late afternoon and chose LK Metro because it was in easy walking distance and I didn't have enough small change for a moto taxi to Walking Street. I was pretty beat already (I blame two Benz sessions in the last few days) so I only hit a couple of bars, Amethyst and Crystal, selected because they had the best crop on my last visit.
It was hard to tell if the quality was still there because they were mostly made up in Halloween makeup. This adds a confusion factor as, much like an average girl would be a pig at a supermodel agency but a stunner at the Ironworkers' Union Hall, I have greatly reduced beauty standards for ghouls and other undead. I'm pretty happy if major skin is not slouging off, the head is on the right way, and all the limbs are there. But I don't give it as much thought as I probably should have because on my bucket list "Sex with the undead" is just below "Sex with former US Secretary or State Madeleine Albright" which in turn is just below "Sex with a meat grinder".
I was one of two customers at Amethyst and had my eye one one little thing who apparently didn't get the costume memo. Cute face and not a bad body, though the lighting there has a bit if a problem: The floor level lights revealed every jiggle of what had originally had the appearance of a taut tummy. Still, I was interested, but so was every other customer (one) there, and he had already bought her a LD. I might return. Crystal had one potential, too, who also didn't come prepared to eat brains or whatever. Not chubby, in fact possibly too skinny. She was not one of the naked ones so I couldn't properly assess the assets. Also, I spent a lot of time watching fail videos on their big screen. Pretty rude of me.
Hopefully I'll have more to report once the ghouls have disappeared. I now have change for the moto so I expect to be immersed in the tank-top Mecca of Walking Street tomorrow.

Soi 6 was in great form tonight. Several bars had birthday parties going complete with balloons, free food, DJs going at full blast and the birthday girls parading around with the 100 baht bills pinned to their dresses.
Great atmosphere but I'm not sure if it also is great for business: many girls being more interested in the party than in their customers.
Nevertheless I managed to get hooked by Fai of Roxy bar, 32 years old (but not looking older than 25), 1. 5 m of dynamite, with some nice (enhanced) breasts and quite some tattoos. The usual 300 Baht barfine / room and 1000 baht for her plus some drinks and a tip for her and the chamber maid.
Nothing earth-shattering, just some good DFK, BBBJ, pussy-licking and fingering and sex. Very clean and good hygiene (shower before and after).
It is so down-to-earth that it doesn't cease to amaze me.

Telephone bar is open and have got 5-7 girls at anytime. Well that is (good) news now! Although one must admit Soi Batman is a bit out of the way. Speaking of BJ bars, I have found Club 4 to be a great place too. They are designed a bit differently, the seating and action areas are more like booths that can be covered with a curtain and are much more comfortable to relax, kick back and have a drink. The ladies are IMHO younger. The bar at the far end is usually occupied by a bunch of guys. One of them is the owner I think.
Club 4 is at Soi Full Love. There are other bars too on that lane, but this is the only BJ bar I know of there.
P.S. - The name goes after Full Love Inn, a cheap motel for ST. Kinky round beds and eerie lighting.

My wingman and I recently completed a trip to SEA. It was the first overseas mongering trip for my wingman, but I have taken many trips over the years. Our initial intention was to do 7 days in Pattaya, 3 days in Bangkok, and 7 days in Manila. However, the typhoon hit the Philippines few days before our departure to Manila, and my wingman got very nervous. He started watching TV and looking at those folks swimming in the flood water. He then told me that he is not going to Manila. I suggested to him other venues such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Hong Kong / Macau but he wanted to go back to Pattaya. He did not even like Bangkok. Later on, I found out why. He had a met a working girl in Pattaya in our last day, and he liked her a lot. Unfortunately for him, when we went back to Pattaya, she was nowhere to be found. This incident left me wondering about the wisdom of bringing a newbie as a wingman. This is the second time I do this and it seems to always mess up my plans. So, at the end, we spent 14 days in Pattaya and 3 days in Bangkok.
My highlight of the trip: I am a big sucker for eye candy, hence I tend to gravitate towards places that have the most eye candy. I spent quite a bit of time in gogo bars, where I think one can find the most eye candy. However, my wingman had a limited budget, and once I introduced him to the Free lancers (FLs) on Beach Road, he was all set. 700 baht for a session, you just can't beat that. I have to admit that I also had a good helping of FLs from Beach Road. The value there is just overwhelming.
However, I managed to convince my wingman to at least try gogo bars for entertainment. So, every night, we would start with the gogos after dinner, then around 11 pm, we would move on to Beach Road and each one of us would pick a FL for the evening. We did this almost every day. I eventually ended up picking a beauty from Airline however, and my wingman was comfortable enough to ditch me and continue his routine. He did meet a gogo beauty one night but he balked at her asking price of 3 K baths for ST plus 1 K barfine. I did not blame him, as the prices have gone up too much.
As usual, the gogo scene seems to shift from one year to the next. In this trip, I thought the following bars were the best, in terms of quality and quantity of eye candy: Sensation, What's up, Baccara, Sapphire, and Sky Fall. We did not check every bar so we may have missed some good ones.
I was also surprised at some of the changes I noticed recently. I usually travel during the high season, and this time it was still low season, I think. I have read comments in the past about the Thai logic, and how they tend to charge more in the low season to make up for lost revenue. Well, I experienced that first hand when I visited my beauty at Airline. They really tried to milk me for drinks, and I ended spending quite a bit of money for those damn drinks. I was amazed at all the different tricks girls do to get a drink out of me. Some of them had the guts to ask for more than one drink. Eventually, I just stopped going to that bar, and found different ways to get my girl out of there.
Another trend I noticed was that working girls were rather careless about the cover, this time around. I had to insist on the cover on a couple of occasions, as the girl was ready for it without cover. That was a bit scary given that I am often times tipsy by the time I have a girl in my room.
This time, I also did more site seeing at the insistence of my wingman. We visited Big Budha, and Koh Larn which I enjoyed quite a bit. We also took a couple of days off and visited Koh Samed, off Rayong / Ban Phe. That was fun!
I was happy to see that the horde of Russians is gone, but unfortunately it was replaced by a bigger horde of Chinese. They seem to enjoy visiting Walking Street with their grandmas and grandpas, except that there are too many of them at times. At Koh Samed, we had to go away when the Chinese tourists had to eat. My favorite Pattaya bars this trip in order of my preference were What's Up, Sapphire, and Sensations. What's Up because they seemed to have the hottest little girls and the place is real lively. Sapphire because I ran into an old favorite gal of mine that I had not seen in 3 years, WOW! That was the surprise of the trip. Sensations because they still have some cute girls.
Bars change from season to season, year to year. In 2014 Sensations was my favorite bar because I thought they had the best girls back then. Happy was my next favorite and What's Up was my third favorite. But not this trip. I only took one girl out of Sensations this trip. Actually I think Sensations has gone down hill a little bit in girl quality since 2014 and did not live up to the whole justification of an Agency Coyote bar thing which is the promise of higher quality girls. But What's Up always amazes. God, I hate to love this bar, but I do love it because they always have really high quality girls. Then I found Sapphire somewhere in between these two bars. So I think Sapphire is a really good bar with some attractive girls, some not so attractive girls, and a great overall atmosphere. Anyway these 3 were my favorite bars this fall. Incidentally, I was disappointed with the LK Metro Go Go's and I never made it over to Happy or Airline, two bars I always liked a lot on past trips.

I thought the following bars were the best, in terms of quality and quantity of eye candy: Sensation, What's up, Baccara, Sapphire, and Sky Fall. We did not check every bar so we may have missed some good ones.
My favorite Pattaya bars this trip in order of my preference were What's Up, Sapphire, and Sensations. What's Up because they seemed to have the hottest little girls and the place is real lively. Sapphire because I ran into an old favorite gal of mine that I had not seen in 3 years, WOW! That was the surprise of the trip. Any clubs to avoid?Hey BB, I know you have researched the topic thoroughly and you are looking forward to your first trip to LOS. My only piece of advice to you is to trust your instincts and not try to see everything because you can't. For example, you probably have a list of 10 or more recommended Pattaya Go Go's. That's fine, all I am saying is don't let your list override what you find on the ground when you arrive.
A common mistake some new guys make when they first arrive is they want to check out all the bars before they take a girl. This approach can lead to passing on some very excellent girls early in the night and winding up with a not as good a girl later on. Remember, you can always check out more bars later in the evening after your first boom boom or the next night. Alternatively, you can also decide to see a girl you really like again and again and not visit half the bars on your list. It is all up to you. My advice is do what feels right, trust you instincts, and not be beholden to any list. I make lists too, but as soon as I hit South East Asia my lists go into my back pocket and I go with the vibe and what I find on the ground. What happens next is always somewhat of a surprise and it feels new. Thus no trip is like the last one and I still have places to look forward to that I have not yet seen. I can practically guarantee you that your first trip to LOS will not be your last.
So let's say on your first night in town you visit Sensations Go Go or any bar at the top of your list and see a girl that you like the look of. You buy her a drink and discover she is real friendly and wants to show you a good time. My advice to you at this point is; forget the list, keep it in your back pocket, barfine the girl, and enjoy Pattaya. On the other hand, keep looking if you do not find what you are looking for at the 1st, 2nd or 3rd bar, but I doubt you will have to look in more than 2 or 3 top Go Go's to find a girl that suits your tastes and is real nice.

I will definitely be checking out your recommendations bar wise. I only made it to Saphire back in August. But I was impressed.
I agree with your assessment that low season is way better. As you already know, due to my schedule this year I can swing a December-January trip. I still think Patts and BKK are the best mongering destinations on earth, even in high season. But rest assured I will be back next low season too. Hehe.
That said, I am getting the hell out of town for the days around New Years eve to party with my fave Vietnamese girl in HCM and will be back in Patts only on January 3. I hope this helps me avoid most of the high season rush. I will be spending most of my time leading up to New Year with my Thai regular -- with the occasional side trip to the Six and WS for variety's sake. I think its important to have some sure things lined up during high season. 555.

But if I was facing the choice of visiting LOS over Dec-Jan or skipping Thailand for a year, you can bet your last bhat I would go in December-January and have a blast. HA HA. Personally I would never step in What'up, Sapphire, SkyFall and Baccara. They have got lot of cute girls, but they are mostly coyote and I can't bother stay in a club just for chatting girls. These clubs are great for travelers looking for a fake girlfriend experience, assuming they are "clean" girls because they don't strip naked on the stage.
If this is the case, avoid the Ago-go and go strait to the clubs, Insomnia disco being the top choice.
In the clubs you can play the girlfriend experience anyway on your term without paying for huge barfine. You will find the girls form the above mention clubs be there on their day of from work at 12 am, and after 3 am when the gogos shut down.
My favorite Agogos are; Windmill, SugarBaby and Blu Electric.
Why?
Because I love to see naked girls on stage, keep my hands busy playing with them and they are up for anything.
However, I discourage first visitors in Pattaya to visit these establishments because they might shock you.

However, you can read the forum all you want but there is certain info that just isn't on the Pattaya forum that I recall seeing like how I just picked up a girl I met on night 1 for a freebie only to have her turned away at my hotel a few minutes ago since she was under 20. Didn't know this was a rule for a girl friendly hotel. I had no idea since imo she looks older than many of the other gogo girls.

Likewise, if I girl does not have an ID, they would not let her in.
However, I learned from Rio, where hotels don't allow you to bring in a girl period, to just ask the girl. They know where the short time hotels are. They would rent you a room by the hour, no question asked, and this is the case in most cities in South America.
Also, right there in Pattaya, there are few hotels where you can pick a room in a given wing, where the reception does not see you come or go. I stayed in one of those last April and every girl I brought was taken straight to my room, bypassing the registration process. However, most experienced hobbyist would advise against that. It is safer to go through the reception, and I do that most of the times.

Thanks for the breakfast tips. I wanted a nice stack of pancakes but could not find that, so I went to Loaf on Soi Lenkee and got the french toast with bacon and eggs. Looked and tasted nice but, I'm not Into artsy food. When I want to eat, I Want To Eat.

Depends how much you want to spend. The Hilton Brunch Buffet is about 500 THB (from Mo-Thur) starts at 12:00 - very nice high class Food. And also very nice decorated with style.
Then 'chez Pascale' (2nd Road, near Avenue Shopping) about 220 THB. Really nice Breakfast with fresh milk / yoghurt / cheese / fruits / grill outside made as you like it.

Have some Ladyboys bar that have a second entry on soi 6/1, and some mixed bar with GG and LB. On the left side have bar like Solo Club, Spider Bar, My Friend You, Route 69, Lick Bar, and more that are not LB's bar, but you can find some LB's in the line up like Solo Club.
On the left side I think Pook, Hi Boss and So What are all LBs.

Soi 6 today between 4-6 pm. Really a waste of time as there was nothing to my liking. There was one girl forgot the name of the place but will check next visit who I thought was the hottest one. When I spoke with her she sounded fine. No man's voice. She confirmed she was a girl. However, I backed off since over half the girls in the front were definite ladyboys. Went to Windmill tonight. From what I recall reading I wasn't expecting much talent at all but decided to go cause I felt raunch was in the cards tonight. Talent wise I found the club way better than some others I visited. In fact there were 3 girls there I really liked. As for cost what a bargain this place is. You buy the girl a drink for around 200 baht and you can basically do anything you want with her for 3 songs until she rotates back on stage. TP, TS, KP, AP, DP, DFK, DATY, HJ over pants, or just pure fun lap dances. I will definitely be back. LOTS of FUN! Great atmosphere.
Advise to get there early since you may like a girl and not be able to get her for hours because they keep going back to the same guy for hours.
Next time I'm going for the 10 tequila for 1000 baht deal. That covers 30 songs of fun for 30 euro.

I stay at the Sunshine in Sep most tourist are Indians so they have Indians food for the breakfast buffets is not very good, I agree the buffets here is not very good you need to go to Bangkok.

I stopped breakfast at Sunshine too after they started charging for it. But I found Sailor Bar on Soi 8 to be an excellent alternative. It is not a buffet but you can get what you want there and the prices are very reasonable. Did I mention they make a mean Long Island Ice Tea?

Yeah I am a real tough guy. LOL. But in truth, BB is only the 2nd BM I have called out personally since I became a ISG member. I just get a weird vibe from him. At the present all we do know is that a first time visitor to Pattaya on his first night in town hits a few bars and what not and then at some point in the night he hooks up with a girl who convinces him she is an amateur or "freebie" in the OP's words. Later we are to understand that this "freebie" is denied access to the OP's hotel room by hotel security.
So what are we supposed to make of this bare set of information? It might be exactly as stated by the OP. But what are the odds of that? Rather small I think. Or maybe the girl was not a "freebie" and there was some kind of honest communication gap between the two which seems to me to be a much more likely scenario. Or maybe a con was going on and maybe that is why the hotel security denied the girl access to the OP's room. WHO knows? That's why it would be nice if we had more information about this incident like where they met, what happened between them during the 1st hour of conversation, and at what point did she present herself to the OP as an amateur not interested in his money.

There is nothing wrong with taking a Songthaw. It is a very convenient form of public transportation. I take them all the time. But when I am with a girl and staying at the Evergreen or some other hotel not quite on the Songthaw's route, I prefer a motor cycle taxi's door to door service. I am 5'10" and weigh 180 lbs so I never had a problem with a girl and myself riding on the back of a motorcycle taxi. Some drivers do try to take advantage of the situation and ask for more money than they should. I just walk away and talk to the next driver. I do not recall ever paying more than 80 bhat for transportation back to my hotel with a girl.
The same kind of nonsense occurs in BKK directly in front of Soi Cowboy on Soi 23. Some greedy taxi drivers ask for crazy set fares and will refuse to turn on their meter. Just walk a half a block down the soi and flag a passing taxi. The honest drivers always turn on their meters and the fare rarely exceeds 60 bhat back to my hotel. Some of the greedy taxi drivers will ask for 150bt fixed fare. I think it is wrong to do business with them. Walk a half a block and reward the honest drivers with your commerce. And I always tip the honest ones.
Boys, I don't much like motos but on my last visit I overcame my fear of them, I had a friend had a bad accident, and if you're worrying about the price of a moto in Pattaya you're in the wrong place and should just stay home and have a wank! Pedro.

For the regular guy, who doesn't get that favorable rate, that conversion would likely be over a $100 - maybe closer to 100 Euros? I just got back from Berlin, and have a good grasp on what a Russian girl gets for an hour of love. Around 100 Euros (or less) in the bordellos or as an independent. The only time of year you might wish to avoid is around "Songkhran", the Thai New Year. Some girls will go to visit their family (but again, there will be more than enough still in Pattaya and Bangkok), but most that stay will just party and throw water around. That period of year will be bad for mongering, but fun for participating in the festivities.
Also, throughout the year there are various Buddhist holidays and then no alcohol can be served in the bars. Some bars will even close. But with some planning, this can be easily overcome: buy some beer the day before and stock your room's fridge and either get a freelancer from beach road or book a bargirl for LT already the day before. If her bar is closed, you will even save on the barfine!

I did a currency conversion and that figure she agreed to is probably not random. 3500 is just shy of $100 at the currency market rates. For the regular guy, who doesn't get that favorable rate, that conversion would likely be over a $100 - maybe closer to 100 Euros? In short we need a ride for two from pattaya at 8-9 am which will show us above places and leave us at BKK by 5. 30-6 pm.
Does anyone know any such travel operator? Any idea of rental car tarrif? Preferrably honda city or corrola.

This is an old report. Around June 2015. I was active on another pattaya forum and I saw that DD was highly recommended on that forum. What I really recommend is staying in Bangkok the night before your sightseeing so you will be well-rested instead of rushing trying to get out of Pattaya that morning. Also get a late check-out so you can at least shower before your flight back home. You are sure to do a lot of sweating in Bangkok.

ThanksYou can take a taxi from Pattaya to Bangkok. That takes between 1. 5 to 2 hours to get to the airport and at least 2 hours (and more if the traffic is bad) to get to the Royal Palace.
Taking a proper visit to the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha will take a few hours at least.
Vimanmek Palace is also quite beautiful but you have to take a guided tour inside and there are much more nice things to see there, such as the stables of the White Elephants.
Combining the transfer from Pattaya to Bangkok, the Royal Palace / Emerald Buddha and Vimanmek Palace and then getting back in time to the airport (by that time it is rush hour in Bangkok) would be next to impossible and will stress you out and cost you a fair amount of "waiting time" for the taxi, unless you want to lug your luggage around to all these places?.
Far better indeed, as has been suggested, to arrive in Bangkok the night before. A hotel near Khao San Road would make it a lot easier to visit the places you want to see and they will keep your luggage during the day.
And hey, being in Bangkok the night before may give you enough time to visit an oily or soapy massage place!

To cover all the touristy places in BKK in 1 day is next to impossible. They all demand a lot of walking around and easily take upward of 2 hours per place. None of them open before 10.00 am. I presume you don't want to just "see" these places as part of a checklist. Allow time in between for food and movement from one attraction to another. All of them are large complexes and you will get tired in the tropical climate. Stay hydrated at all times.
There are several private taxis advertising on the internet for PYX-BKK rides. A ride to the airport costs THB 1000 while a ride to BKK city will cost THB 1200. A trip to BKK city and then onward to Airport with all this sightseeing thrown in will take some negotiation, but expect THB 2000. If you are staying in one of the recommended hotels, then simply asking the front desk to arrange a taxi will do the trick. They are pretty reliable. You can get a Camry or an Accord for the price I am quoting here. Alternately, if you have PM please let me know, I can send you a contact number for a service provider I have been using for several years without any complaints.

I went out to Walking Street on a Saturday night. First I went to Insomnia just before midnight to get the cheap San Mig Light, but for once I did not see anything to my liking. Then Happy go-go bar. Nice atmosphere, but the talent level wasn't huge.
I decided to try Skyfall for the first time. There were some super cute girls outside. It is a pleasant club, and the staff are eager to sit you well.

Report – Day 1.
This is a continuation of my Thailand trip report. I spent the previous 3 nights in Phuket, and my reports are located in the Phuket board.

I boarded the bus at 4:55 but we didn't depart until 5:15. They took on 3 airport workers, leaving one spare seat, but as we were about to leave, there were still 2 people who were unable to get a ride, so they took them on. In a bit of karma perhaps, the woman who was seat-squishing me was one of them, and she had to share the end of a seat with another person for about 30 minutes. Anyway, after dropping the three airport workers off, then missing the turn to my hotel on Soi 13, I was the last one off. I don't get to my hotel until nearly 6:30. Oh well.
I unpack and leave for WS at 8:30. I compare how things are to how they were last May when I was here. I noted more people, and there a number of real-girls FL on Beach Road (BR). I hopped on a baht bus (10 B) for WS. As before, tons of Chinese. At 10 PM, from the south end of WS, throngs of them, in mass, we walking in. Incredible.

Day 2.
I closed out yesterday's report looking forward to a busy Wednesday. That is pretty much what I got.
Even though this all happened yesterday as I write this, some of it actually seems like several days ago! Anyway, the bed I have at Sandy Springs is horrible. Lousy pillows and a hard mattress. I tossed and turned all night. I dragged out of bed, dressed and gathered together some dirty laundry that I then dropped off at a Soi 13/1 laundry place. I had booked cab through VR Taxi, costed me 1300 baht for pick from Hotel Mermaid to Pattaya. I was staying at Whitehouse condotel on Soi 13 for 4 nights. I had booked a Deluxe Suite room and paid approx. 3200 baht per day. I checked in around 2. 30 pm. The accomodation was very good and I had a Living area with a sofa set, Bedroom and Toilet with Bathtub and separate shower area which I always prefer at my disposal. There were two balconies but only the one attached to living room had seating arrangement. The kitchen area was very spacious and had a mini dining table with chairs and full sized refrigerator. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Not too soft or hard, just the right feel to get me into a deep slumber. Wifi speed was amazing and no dropouts in both the rooms including bathroom. Plush accommodation with an apartment kind of feel. The room had an old style lock and key which had to be deposited at the reception every time I left room and collect when I came back. An inconvenience but also an advantage compared to the plastic swipe key system as both AC remained switched on even when I locked and left the room only to come back to a prechilled room. The reception was manned for 24 hours so I never had to wait or face any delay. All girls were compulsorily registered and their ID card was deposited to be returned when they left. I always got a call whenever the girl left the room. The hotel is in a quiet Soi hence no sound or music to disturb you during day or night. Liked the silence despite being in the heart of the city. It was a very small walk either to Beach or Second road.
I found few drawbacks though.

I knew some of the above when I had booked and was ok as I preferred a bigger and plush room compared to sea view or pool view but small room.

I left for Rasputin around 4 pm. Took the baht bus from second road and was there in 10 minutes. Pattaya indeed was not very crowded and never did I once get stuck in traffic except for one time while going to walking street.

It was only a couple of years ago (2013) that I remember the Soi Six price was 700 bt for the girl and 300 bt for the room. Now the price is 1000bt plus 300bt. A thirty percent increase. Many Soi Six regulars protested the rate increase at the time and vowed they would never pay it, but guess what? 1300bt is now pretty much the rate except possibly for a small number of well known ex-pats living in Pattaya.

I don't think I gave any signs of being a newbie neither I am. I liked the girl, talked to her outside and then took her in for a drink. I would have given 200 baht extra for room. I generally don't negotiate on room or barfine costs and take them to be sacrosanct. This was an aberration. I knew that 1000 + 350 was pretty much the price range since last year hence aware that they were asking 200 extra and I was ok.
Issue was that the girl was asking for 50% extra. The room cost was immaterial at that point of time in my decision making process.

It's about half way down Soi 5 you need to go into a smaller Soi on the right side as you go down.
We was a bit later arriving we soon had a couple of half decent ones on to us we duly obliged 350 + 1000 as they was getting to the end of their shift about 6 or 7 pm so was rushing us along usual story rooms get full.
Very professional ladies who if your not careful quickly take control and before you know it its all over done and dusted.

Could be possible though if you are taking the girl at 6 pm.

The bars don't have a fixed BF price for long time. Some bars ask for 800/1000 baht for BF a girl LT before midnight. I have a friend that pick up a lady LT in Sky Bar (800 baht BF for LT) and he also ask in Lisa Bar how much is the BF for LT and they said is 1000 baht.
I know Red Point ask for 500 baht BF if you want a ST in your hotel, I don't know how much they ask for BF longtime.That's right. Each bar can make their own price from barfining the girl to leave the bar.
To go upstairs is set at 300. To have the girl leave the bar to go to your hotel is not the same.
There were some British guys staying here 2 months ago. One night, they each brought girls back. One of the girls had a nice round ass. The next day I asked him where he found his girl. He said soi 6. What was the barfine, 800.

Why give the gogo 3000 baht for the girl? If you pay the barfine, the girl can leave with you. You can pay her the next day (after the morning or afternoon sex). Plus the girl now has her money to do as she pleases.
Tip. You can find the same girls walking down walking street in the evening hours and you can also find them in the clubs (no barfines). For 3000 baht you can have 2 girls from a club for all night. And 1000 baht barfine fee, that you did not give the gogo, can be used to buy drinks in the club. ;)

Now when I was a strapping youth roaming around Central and South America at the age of 22 to 26 with minimal funds at my disposal, I used to have a great time in towns like San Jose, Cartagena, and Bogota. Back then I took a youthful pride in never paying for my poontang. I completely agree with Nattys MO on BF a girl early rather then waiting out to save 1000 baht. In PYX I have always BF a girl from a bar early in the night i.e. from 8 to 10 pm and this MO till now has proven quite successful for me.
Another experiment which I tried this time was hitting the discos for pickup which was quite late I. E after 1 am when its crowded and choices are available. 1. First, this post belongs in the hotel thread of the Pattaya board.
2. All hotels in Pattaya are girl friendly. Some may ask for a joiner fee but no hotel will refuse a guest. Take note of the age limits prescribed by different hotels. The hotels thread has all this information and more.
3. the estimated rates are all good and the hotels shortlisted appear to be 3 star. Unless you are one of those early risers avoid breakfast. Most hotels shut the breakfast buffet by 10 am and the spread is not all that attractive. That said, you are never too far away from a good eating joint in Pattaya.
4. End of the day, choose the hotel that offers best location & access with respect to the action areas. So anything on Beach Road, 2nd Road, Soi Buakhaow should be good bets. Beach road, if you like the beach, is the best bet.

ThanksI was in Thailand back in Dec 2013 and brought in the New Year in Pattaya. Everything gets expensive by say 20%. The price of drinks remain the same, but hotel tariff, bar fines and ST / LT charges go up. This is not because of some strategic pricing model but simply due to demand / supply. No one wants to go back to the hotel "alone" during these days.
Soi 6 charges remain the same if you want in-house services but if you want to take the girl out of the bar then the higher prices apply.
This has been my experience. However, with all the present economic challenges faced by Russia and the prevalent general security concerns in the region it may be different this year. But then Thai logic says charge more during "low season" and that is an entirely different story!

Has anyone ever spent Christmas in Pattaya or new years? I am thinking about booking my first Christmas time trip. But, heard it is very busy at that time. I worry, I will not be able to get a room. After reading your post I jumped on 3 different hotel search engines and within seconds found rooms available in many hotels ranging from 5* down to 3*, prices seemed a bit higher but nothing like one sees at Carnival time in Rio. So if you want to go, takes all of a minute to book a hotel and then just go.
And as Mr. E succinctly put as always, there is no set in stone policy on charging 500 baht more. This is SEA almost everything is up for negotiation. Just the negotiation is a bit harder during Christmas season because the demand is much higher.

And if you go through one of the reputable hotel sites, such as booking.com I see no reason why it should go wrong at all. They have excellent customer care.

I guess if you go to the go go's where they already charge a premium, you would be expected to pay more.

This report is of my days in Pattaya for a trip a few weeks ago. This past trip was split between BKK and Pattaya. . the first 4 days are posted in the BKK forum.
