Anybody know what "BILLION BAR" price is?
Used to be a reasonable 500 baht, but last time I looked in I was told 300 bf plus 500 for girl like everyplace else. But do check for yourself as I can't remember if I was asking at the Blue Bar next door. Pretty sure it was Billion though.

15 years ago, both Billion, and it's next door neighbour, Blue House, would charge just 300bt inclusive!

Ok, read and seems that the overall prices have gone up despite the world's economic collapse and the falling of my US dollar since my last visit about 3 -4 years ago. It use to be about 1000b LT or less.
So the rates at ST Soi 6 are up.
I mainly like the regular bars (not the GO-GO bars ) around 2nd Rd and ones near Soi 8. Whats the current barfines on the regular bars for takeout LT.

They will charge 100 to 150B to take you straight to your hotel with no stops and no other passengers on board. However, the last time I used them, about six months ago it was 20B from the terminal to Soi 3. Of course the taxi was packed to capacity.

I also dislike Pump Station, though not because it is a 'dump' - I dislike the pricing and money-squeezing attitude. Last I was there they charged 370 baht 'to the bar', and demanded something like 500 to the girls - this was nearly 900 baht for a mere BJ! I think the actual price used to be 370 baht all in, in more reasonable times, but through years of squeezing and dumbass overpaying we have reached 900 baht blow jobs. (900 baht = $25, by the way, which isn't much different from what a BJ costs back home).As I will be in Pattaya next month, I'm interested in an update about BJ bars too.
Last time I was there I had good experiences with Pump Station, but it's 3-4 years ago. Yes, they try to pull money by saying, it's a CBJ and you need to pay more if you want BBBJCIM. I always insisted in this price (I think it was 900 B as you stated), but offered a tip if good service.
One thing which I think is unique for Pump Station now, and maybe a good recommendation for newbies: since the ones in Angeles and Subic disappeared, I think this is the last "smile under the table". Bar. Does anyone know another one?
How about next door, "Nice with Ice". Is it still open? Any experiences?

Jeez one a cheap charlie ,why don't just you walk to your hotel from the bus
terminal and save yourself 10 bht ,share bht bus 20 bht go to the beach rd only drop you off the st corner .

It's on Soi 21 but that's of little use if you are walking on Soi Buakhao between South Pattaya Rd. and Central Pattaya Rd. because there are no signs for the sois leading off it. Luckily there is a sign for it (as well as Dream Teen Massage) on the soi. I'd guess it's about 3/4 of the way north. Note that walking on Soi Buakhao is an experience in itself as there are no sidewalks and lots of traffic on a congested street.
Pretty good fishbowl of about 30 women. Prices are 2000 for regular (red tags) and 2500 for models (blue tags).
I went with Sai #154 and can recommend her. The room was bigger than at Sabai Dee, too.

20 baht can be right, but in the town when you just hop-on-hop-off is 10 bath.
In my years I went to pattaya I have always pay 10 and I have see they the girls pay 5 bath but not all of them some ( new girls ) don't know that they can pay less.
I have see already 2 times some old man ( around 60-70 ) which have pay 5 bath too, why I mention it because it was funny the driver wanted 10 and they have tell him to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) off. But this can be dangerous the driver can get out and hurt you badly you never know what he is doing. Like the only old man when the driver have get out and made some thai kick on him when we have drive away the old man was still on the groound and have scream something like " I will get you for this you son of ..... "

back when i lived in pattaya - i think it was from about 2002-2006 - i always paid 5 baht, except late at night when i paid 10. i figured late at night the guy was performing a premium service, fewer people about, so less business for him and more chance he might 'do something about it'.
in pratice though, most drivers didn't even make a peep about it, and no one ever stepped out of his sontaow. if you think about what i saved in four years.. say 4 songtaew rides per day, 20 baht per day, times 180 times four = 14,400 baht! (and i was only an occasional user as i had a motorbike). that's nearly 30 short times.
Italy 1974. The problem that they don't understand that way about the tip. In many place if you don't give the tip they got angry whit you. Is a part of the money you must pay. I know are only a few euros. So why you don't go whit coyote lady for 2000+?
You can find the best of the best for only 100 euros. And live the soi 6 for us cheap charly.
If you try to go in some place were only arabic (from saudi arabia and UAE not egyptian or poor arabic) go the "normal" tip is 5000 bath. Some day a month is not live here and the thai lady are very smart and they understand very quick about money they can have.
BUT YES you can tip as much you want. Only when in few yrs the price will go up and up. Then don't bother about.
Remember when we change from lira to euro?
100. 000 lire was changed in. 100 euros. And everybody paid whitout say nothings and that was the new price.
So if one day 700+500 tip will be 1200 normal price. Don't be sad. Ok?

Sorry if I'm not as rich as some of you guys. but at least I do make the effort to make it here when i can.

Any bht bus will take you directly to the bus terminal from beach rd 2 for about 50 bht ,I don't think 50 bht about 1.75 usd will make a big different,the local paid 5 bht for bht bus and we paid 10 bht no big deal .

I was in a baht bus yesterday that had the sign posted saying that the maximum fare from Naklua to Jomtien (which includes Pattaya) is 10 baht. We only paid 10 baht each to go to Jomtien. On the way back the driver asked my friend for 20 but he just shook his head "no" slowly.
Also a fellow from Holland that has spent his winters in Pattaya for the last 10 years (and was with a local woman) told us that the 5 baht fare for locals ended last year, so they pay 10 baht now, too. His other piece of advice: always have exact change.

Let me attempt to clarify this Baht bus issue for everybody.
First, when I first got here the local Thai's did pay 5 Baht. Then, the gas prices went up and EVERYBODY then paid 10 Baht.
Now, gas prices have gone down. The city council changed the prices back to 5 Baht. The Bus drivers are having NONE of that and the price is 10 Baht for everybody.
So, the price for any one way trip is 10 Baht.
Except when you go a long way. The cut off point is Central Pattaya Road which is where Tops Supermarket is located on 2nd Road. If you take the bus to or from Jomtien and go pass 2nd road the price is 20 Baht.
This is not a very good business for the bus drivers.
First, most of them don't own there own buses. The bus licenses are a "Commodity" like taxi or liquor licenses would be in the US. The last time I talked to one of them on this issue was years ago and the value was 800,000 Baht then.
Most of the drivers lease on a daily basis there buses from one of a few large owners of both the buses and licenses. They are responsible for all the gas for the day. So, if a driver does total sales volume of 1,000 Baht they might make 200 Baht for the 12 hour day.
With the tourist coming here now being so low now, due to the world wide financial crises, I really feel for the drivers and wonder how they are even staying alive.
About 95% of them are OK, but 5% or so can be real SOB's.
If you want to have a BIG fight in Pattaya Thailand try and pay one of them 5 Baht. You could literally be threatened with physical violence. It is SO NOT worth 5 Baht to have them SCREAM at you and threaten to kill you. I would not even think about it.

I want to know which Massage Parlor ( body ) is better Susies at soi 4, Diamond Massage ( aka VIP Massage ) soi Diamond, or PP.

ThanksDon't go to VIP in Soi Diamond. It's a run down dump. The rooms are grubby & dilapidated. The girls are gigantically fat. I've never been to the others you mentioned. The best soapy I've used is Sabai Dee on the left hand side of 2nd road at the northern end. It's clean modern & bright with a lot of pretty girls from 2 in the afternoon onwards. Don't go to the other Sabai one soi before "Dee". It's also been allowed to run down & it's filthy. The 3rd Sabai, on the RHS of 2nd road roughly opposite the other 2 is quite good.

I was wondering how easy is it to buy Viagra at pharmacies in Pattaya?
I've heard you can buy it at some bars and other places. But I'm a little concerned about possibly buying fake Viagra pills that might not work as intended.
Can you just walk into a Pharmacy at Mike Shopping Center and buy it there?
Being somewhat older than the ladies are, I could certainly use some performance enhancing drugs such as Viagra to keep up with the young ladies. I've never tried using it before. But from what I've read about it. Viagra can turn a normal guy into a super stud. It can make you stay hard and able to ride for a good couple hours or more. Which would be fantastic to have for a two-lady sandwich massage at one of those massage places in Pattaya.
Taking out two ladies for a sandwich massage sounds pretty good to me. But I'm a little concerned that I might not be able to take full advantage of both ladies, unless I take some Viagra.2 or 3 doctor's clinics sell Viagra, Cialis & Levitra no questions asked to anyone who walks in. They are on 2nd Road 5 or 10 minutes walk in the Jomtien direction from the junction of 2nd Road & South Pattaya Road, on the RHS of the road or you can take a baht bus from outside the school on the corner. They all have huge signboards advertising these pills. They sell only the official versions which are more expensive than the generic. I'm in the same category as you. The 1st time you take Viagra etc. it might not have a great effect. But if you take 1 a day for 3 or 4 days the effect becomes significant.

OK, I am going to go a little further with the Baht bus and explain how they operate as taxies and NOT buses.
First, ALL of the Baht buses can be hired as PRIVATE taxies. I always try to get one that does not have anybody in it. Because, the drivers will throw all the riders out of the back of the bus if they get somebody paying them more money.
I don't like that and don't want to be rude to the people already on the bus.
The two places you mentioned you wanted to go, could be had for 100 Baht. Pretty much the LOWEST rate for any Baht bus to act as you TAXI is going to be 100 Baht.
For the most part, you are NOT going to get a bus to act as a TAXI for anything LESS than 100 Baht.
The rate is going to depend on how far the drive is, how long they will have to wait for you and if they are going to be able to get other fairs as a bus on the way back.
But, if you are new here and you don't know the answer to those question then you will be at there mercy.
Next, ALL Thai's like to negotiate. They think if you don't negotiate, then you are STUPID.
So, the drivers are ALL going to ask you for more than the normal rate would be. You need to turn the tables on them and act like you know what you're doing.
Since, I will already know what the rate should be based on the criteria I mentioned above and more than likely a tourist will not; I will tell you how I talk to them.
I first tell them where I want to go, second I hope they understand English and know where I am going, third assuming If I feel confident they know where they are going I will tell them how much I will pay.
Since, I already know what the rate should be; I will stand PAT with my offer and not budge. About 50% of the time, the driver will ask for more.
I will then repeat the offer and if says anything but YES. I will stop the negotiating and ask them once or twice, YES or NO. If they say no, I just find another driver; it is not like the buses don't come by ever 5 seconds or so, it is easy to find another driver.
Last night was a good example of this; I was taking two girls home from Walking Street back to my condo in Jomtien. When I take the girls back to my condo, I always get a taxi. It makes them feel like they are with a rich man and being treated special.
Remember, how much fun you are going to have is directly related to the girl's happiness. The rate for this is 100 Baht. To my surprise the first guy I asked wanted 150 Baht and refused to budge. So after 10 seconds I stopped and found another guy for 100 Baht ten seconds later.
A very good aspect of Thai society is that once negotiations are finished and the deal has been agreed too. The Thai will ALWAYS up hold there end of the bargain.

have been quoted similar to the 100B from 2nd road to bus station yes as bill writes this is a taxi instead of a bus service though. Only once did I get a lower price of (60 or 80) on this route.
what I found OUTRAGEOUS is getting off the bus from BKK airport - (you know the stop right at Suk Rd and Central) the motorcyle taxis and baht busses are there on que! They offer a ride to your hotel 100B per PERSON even e same we were staying on the same soi Diana. This has happened at least 3 or 4 times now, I simply walk across the road to the bus stop now

...what I found OUTRAGEOUS is getting off the bus from BKK airport...On Bell bus, better get off at North Pattaya, walk around the corner to the bus stop and take the Bahtbus for 20 Baht.
From Pattaya to the bus station you can take a Bahtbus to the roundabout, walk a few meters into Pattaya Nua Rd. and take another bahtbus from there for another 10 Baht.The only problem is that they are not very frequent so it can take some time to get one. If without luggage, it is only a 20 mins walk. I often prefer this to having to deal with the taxi mafia. If a regular Bahtbus comes along, I jump on.
It‘s not about the money for me it's about the attitude. Don't forget, in Bangkok a taxi on that distance would cost 35 Baht (less than 2 km).

There are 2 different things I said.
1. the bell bus (As far as I know) has its final stop at Jomtien. It stops at North pattaya and South Pattaya on the way. If you get off at North Pattaya you can walk to the north Pattaya bus station. The Bahtbus from there is 20 baht.
2. If I come from Pattaya and want to go to the bus station, I will not pay 100 Baht for a bahtbus acting like a taxi, but take a bahtbus to the roundabout and then walk towards the bus station until I can flag down another baht bus for 10 baht. They are bot verty frequent though, so I might end up having to walk the whone way (15-20 mins).

All he is trying to say is that after you arrive at the bus terminal in North Pattaya. You have two options.
The first, is to get in one of the Baht buses waiting at the terminal to take you into Pattaya and Jomtien. I don't remember what it cost, but 20 Baht sounds correct.
The second option is to walk right past them and cross the street. There you can wait for a normal Baht bus.
The advantages to this and the reason I do it are the following. You don't have to sit and wait for the bus to fill up at the terminal, which can take fifteen minutes or more.
This bus only cost 10 Baht and about 90% of them go towards the beach exactly the same route as the buses you would catch from the bus station. But, 10% will turn on the circle and go towards North Pattaya, in which case you would have to get off the bus and walk across the street and catch one going towards the beach. You won't have to wait 30 seconds there, they come around that corner constantly.
He is correct, if you have a lot of luggage just wait at the bus terminal. But, if you only have one bag it is quicker just to by pass the buses at the terminal and walk across the street.
There are quite a bit more buses that run that route than he gave the impression there was. The road your on now is called "North Pattaya Road" and most of the busses that run that route will do a u-turn right in front of the bus station and turn back towards the beach. Also you will get a few coming off the highway.
So, if you don't have too many bags, this would be a little quicker. If you're trying to save 10 Baht, don't come here in the first place. We have too many people here already that don't have any money.

The BELL bus is a bus that runs between the airport and Pattaya terminating at Jomtien. Bell is the name of the transport company.
I haven't been there since last Summer. Then it was 2,000 Baht for a box of 4, not cheap.
Thanks for the info. Last December in Bangkok I paid for Viagra 4X100 mg THB 1800 and for Cialis 4X20mg THB 1900. I hope this helps to compare and it seems better prices in Bangkok

At least you and I have the same thoughts on this matter. Yes, we do want to save a few bahts along the way but more importantly, as my post also suggested, we simply don't like the bus/taxi mafia mentality in Pattaya. I already have enough mafia types back home to deal with and don't need them while on vacation.

kamagra is about 200B per pill (maybe even less) I get mine in Cambodia - try virtually any pharmacy on soi Buakhao or 13/2 (might be 13/1) about 1/2 way between beach and 2nd road
GENERIC IS CHEAPER AND JUST AS EFFECTIVE!!
(and the BELL bus only runs between North road bus terminal and the airport - both directions - the place to get ON the bus is at the airport bus terminal - the place to get off going to the airport is AT the departure terminal)
There is a different bus that runs from Jomtien to/from the airport. It works out to be faster IF you are actually going to Jomtien, toherwise, you need to get off on Suk and cross the road - either Klang (central) or Dtai (south) road baht buses will get to down to 2nd or points in between

don't know what I was thinking - 200B was for the 4 pack of Kam. Watch where it comes from and the dosage, though - some is 50mg and they try to get the same price. The gel is 100mg and works quite a bit faster. ASK if it's "chinese" and if it is run away - it's all fake. The INDIAN stuff is OK, chinese is compressed sugar (or worse). I don't think they have made it into the gel yet, though. Not quite enough market

The oral jelly seems to start working in about 15-20 minutes and for me, as with the tablets, is effective for several hours. I've taken it in the early afternoon and it was still potent at midnight. It's also pretty good for 2 or more pops over that period of time.

Beach Inn hotel is actualy a bar and hotel combine, right on Walking Street (opposite the FLB Bar). FLB bar comes just before Insomnia disc and a place called ocean bar. You will see lot of snooker tables in Beach inn bar and hotel is just after that on right side. Hotel is clean and Guest friendly for 550 bahts per night. No girl charges. So much to write about, so little time... But being stuck in an airport waiting lounge does help the concentration.
Last trip to Thailand (end January) went to Pattaya for three nights. Starting at the end of the story, we trawled a few bars both in Walking Street and the lower Soi's, but could not find a bar where both of us fancied a girl (at least not the same one...) Dingy is correct. Songkran starts on the 13th of April and goes for 3 or 4 days in most of LOS, but here in Pattaya about a week. You're going to miss it.
It's a pain in the ass. I've had large buckets of water dumped over my head while riding my motorbike. You can't go anywhere without getting soaking wet. It would be OK if celebrated only one day. Lots of girls go home to celebrate the New Year with Mama & Papa.

I have checked out both Queen Vic, Secrets. and I think Heavens? GF hotels that seem to have good rates. But also will pick me up at the airport for about 1700b - Dive shop said they would send a car for tha same price, and the hotels send a couple of gals-more so just eye candy I am sure. But never the less some entertainment.
Anyone had any expereinces with any of the VIP transports? or these Hotels for that matter?
Of course would be nice to get a post flight BJ on the way in if possible lol :)

I took Bell Travel from the Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya for 150THB and thought the experience was superb. I received the information at
It was a good hint to use Bell travel , and as former post said , easy to find at 1st floor. Departure hours are still same as posted, every two even hours, , but if you are too early , there are some other buses going to Pattaya too. I took Bell Travel , as it was commenended, and they change 200 Bhat now for hotel drop-off.
You can also use the spare time to buy a new SIM card , just arround the corner is a Family Mart (50 Baht).
Bus is going to Pattaya Central Bus Station and than "distrubutes" the guys to Mini buses. Took just 2 hours. Perfect !

I would check thoroughly if that "VIP"-transport in a all-in offer. You might get 'surpised' with extra cost/fees!
I never use VIP, as a normal taxi is already good enough (some 1200 Baht)! And another advise to you, as you are a total newbie;

I was unfortunate enough to be in Pattaya during Songkran a couple of years ago, I made the mistake of thinking it only lasted a few days (13th-15th).
How anyone can regard it as "fun" is a total mystery to me, there is no opt out option, you could be 90 years old and in a wheelchair, you will still get soaked day and night.

the pickup at the airport for 1700 baht is a ripoff. i'm here in pattaya now for the third time this year, and i tried the 1700b special the first time. what a total waste of money. i think it wound up costing a little over 3,000b by the time i was finished, and i was nauseous from the ride.
far better is vr taxi service http://www.pattaya-taxi.com/ they charge 1100baht each way all inclusive. they send a driver to wait for you at the airport just outside door 3, and he'll have a little sign with your name on it. airport to hotel was right at an hour and 20 minutes, depending on time of day and traffic. the extra 600baht that you save will be better spent at the pump station or [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) after a shower and a shave rather than in the back seat of a beat up taxi going 120 km/hr down the thailand tollway.
you could save even a few baht more by risking a taxi from the airport...they charge about 1000 baht, but you never know what kind of a crazy driver or what kind of beat up taxi you're going to wind up with.
it's just great to know that a driver is waiting for you when you get off a long flight, and you don't have to do a thing. when you book online, just tell them what hotel your're going to and you don't have to say even 1 word to the driver. even though the 1100baht is all inclusive, i always give the driver an extra 100 baht, and they are eternally grateful. what a bargain for about $35 usd. it cost me $50 to get to the airpost in las vegas for an 8 mile ride that took 14 minutes!

Dream Teen Pattaya:
I got there after 19:00 and selection was poor. Anyway, decided for a Oil and Ball Massage (1h 400B). If you have ever had a fassion massage in BKK, you will be disappointed. Service 3rd class, but prices first class: 500B HJ, 1000B BJ, 1500B FS (no negotiation). The girl was such unmotivated, so I just went for a HJ. Even this was bad.
I must admit, when I left after 20:00, the selection was much better. Saw some pretty girls.

Just opposite you will fond Beach Inn Garden Bar with lots of pool table. Just cross two table and you will fond the Hotel entrance. I think they have put their display board also. Good hotel in heart of nightlife place with reasonable rate.

Yes I have contact information but can not place here as admin will not allow. Just go on walking street arrond 200 mtrs from entrance and look FLB bar. Just opposite you will fond Beach Inn Garden Bar with lots of pool table. Just cross two table and you will fond the Hotel entrance. I think they have put their display board also. Good hotel in heart of nightlife place with reasonable rate.

Told you earlier also that can't give phone no here as its not allowed here. I think its newly build Hotel and A/C is very good without any noise but you have to compromise with bar noise in night as it’s just above on a bar and in middle in night life activities but who care these noises when you are there for enjoying night life. Yes you can sleep in morning/day time before 4 O'clock without any disturbance as it’s become very silent place in day.

Regarding Noise its quite noisy since its right on Walking street where you have party going whole night with loud speakers arnd, but who wants to sleep at night in pataya. So if you are looking for a quite place at night thn stay away from WS. Otherwise hotel is clean and well maintained. Good value for money.

Recently, I’ve found that the Pattaya Beer Garden, located on Beach Road just outside the entrance to Walking Street, is the best place to go. This bar remains relatively undiscovered over the last year, but is slowly catching on. Each time I visit I see more customers.
You will find a long narrow walkway leading to the Beer Garden right next to a large complex of beer bars surrounding a Thai boxing ring. The path takes you past these bars along a pier over the beach and the water to a large, clean, well maintained open space with a huge bar area and several tables overlooking the sea. The view of Pattaya Bay is spectacular, and the evening sea breezes cool and refreshing.
A large glass of Tiger Draft is only 45 baht and can be enjoyed without any annoying attention or hassles from aggressive beer bar girls. The kitchen also offers a wide and varied inexpensive menu including lots of western style food items served by a pleasant smiling wait staff, some of whom are quite cute.
This bar is modeled after the Beer Garden on Suk Soi 5 in Bangkok. Single freelance ladies are welcome to look for customers. I’ve not seen many working girls there in the early evening hours though. I recommend it and hope this business succeeds in the highly competitive Pattaya market.

the girls come and they go to his table; to the stage for dancing; to the toilet for preening; and/or to sit with other customers awhile, but they always come back for more drinks and, of course, to collect their little paper lady drink slips. they earn 50 baht for each one. they smile sweetly at him, hug his neck, and kiss his cheeks. he wags his finger at each girl, yak yak yaks with them, and basks in their feminine charms.
suddenly the frenzy is over as quickly as it began. i see him pull out a wad of cash from his pocket and peal off eleven 1000 baht notes to settle his tab. well before the waiter returns with his change, the girls have rep001tered and disappeared in all directions like a flock of vampire bats at daybreak, and he ambles out of the bar alone with near empty pockets. my own tab for the same amount of time came to 100 baht.
yeah, the girls love this guy. he’s jai dee. he’ll be back again very soon and they all know the party ritual will continue. i smile and shake my head as i follow the whale outside.

I know the sort of guy you mean. Sad really. Poor guy is maybe impotent anyway so company is all he can hope for.
What also always amazes me is the number of really old guys that are seen in Pattaya, often on the arm of girls young enough to be their great granddaughters! I was in Pattaya in 2006, and I left just as Songkran was starting. Had an absolute blast the first day at a bar throwing water, drinking, laughing, etc, but after that it got tiring to constantly get splattered with ice cold water etc whenever I would go outside.
I am planning a return trip to LOS for early April, and will arrive in Pattaya on 15 April, which I thought would mean that I wouldn't see that much of the waterthrowing but reading these posts it seems that it might still be ongoing even if the official Songkran is 13 to 15 April.
I will probably spend a few days in Bangkok at the beginning of the trip instead, do you guys have any thoughts on when Songkran will have settled down, plus whether the celebrations will be a bit calmer in Bangkok.
Yes, anyone in their right mind ensures they are not in Thailand during the 2 weeks surrounding Songkran.

where did you stay?i stayed in nova platinum, no problem to bring girls in, but they need to have an id (all girls of the bars have an id, maybe just some of the beach road don't have any)
this hotel is in south pattaya, so, perfect if you like to go to gogos. if you rather go to other places (soi 6, [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900), soi buakaw), better stay somewhere else, or rent a scooter (1000bhat/week), as i did.

Club Blu: wow, I was surprisedto see so many stunners. Even the last 3 days in South Pattaya I haven't seen as many in one bar. On top of my list for tomorrow. Forgot to add in my previous report: I went again to Club Blu the next day with intention to get a ST or BF. The stunners were still there.
Invited one for a drink and tried to get closer, but no DFK or fumbling, not even after the second drink.
Tried with another beauty a while later. Same result. Seems, most of the stunners are quite "stuck-up".

Just got back from a few days in Pattaya. First time there. All I can say is.
WOW!
All the lost opportunities trying to figure out the scene in other countries, when in Pattaya, the scene unfolds (undresses) itself for YOU! Wow, wow, wow.
Made a point to stay at the Flipper Lodge, based on all the great comments I had read here and around the Internet. Great place. It was my original intent to just play Hugh Heffner for those 3 days, but instead, decided to keep my room to myself, and opted for the Go-Go bars instead with rooms for short-time. Yes, a little bit more, but total peace of mind that my own hotel room remains secure and MINE.
However, next time, I do plan on making use of the hotel safe deposit boxes, and trying out the beer bar girl scene. Not to be cheap, just something different. There definitely is something for everyone, and you don't have to walk very far to find it.
The Flipper Lodge is about a 1 km walk from the beginning of Walking Street, and with the heat and humidity, it's no easy task to get there, let alone sweaty. I know most take the cheapo taxi's, but in the end, I really do enjoy the walk. For those that are not familiar with Pattaya, or that area, you literally can stand at the bottom of the hotel entrance stairs and see nothing, I mean NOTHING, but beer bars for as far as the I can see. You could stay a week and never be out of visual range of your own hotel. Incredible location.
PLUS. If you want to get to Walking Street, you get to take in the 1 km long line of Beach Girls just standing there, waiting for the taking. Everything from young to old, skinny to fat, female to male, and other combinations that I can't think of right now.
PLUS. You have all sorts of eating options within a few minutes' walk. 7-Eleven's are everywhere (great for stocking the fridge in the room). Subway sandwiches are everywhere. Even a very nice mall just a few minutes walk to the South of the Flipper Lodge along beach road, with a great food court downstairs (also a Sizzler upstairs! Yum! ). And of course, for those with strong stomachs, street vendors everywhere with food that looked absolutely awesome (personally, I have a weak stomach).
Went to Vegas Club the first night. Not too fancy a place, but right near the corner on Beach Road a couple blocks outside (North) of where Walking Street begins. I sat down to watch "the show", and immediately a young, short, skinny little girl, with silky smooth hair down to her waist, came to sit next to me. Figured she was maybe 20-22 or so (does the real age matter? It's the looks that count! ). Made it a point to show me that her mini skirt had nothing beneath it except a narrow magic carpet to wonderland. She started talking about going out, etc, and so I asked her if she had a friend there that she likes to play with. She said she did, but not there at the bar. She said if I bar fine her, we could go to a hotel just a few doors down from the bar, and from there she'd call a friend to come join us. Sounds great, huh? How much, I ask. 1, 000 for her, and 1, 000 for her friend. Done!
We got settled into the room, she gave me (it) a nice wash in the shower, and we laid back in bed to fool around a bit. While she's sucking me off, her friend knocks. She gets up to open the door for her, asks me if I like her friend (yes, I was a little nervous about what might be showing up), and boy was I liking it. She didn't waste any time getting showered herself, and diving right down to take over from the first girl. Oh heaven! The girls didn't do much in the way of each other, so that was too bad, but it didn't impede my sex drive in the least! Every visitor to Pattaya should give the 2-girl fantasy a try if they've ever thought of it.
So, bar fine, 600. My drink and hers, 150. Hotel, 300 + 100 for the 2nd girl. The two girls, 2000, plus I tipped them 300 each for taking such good care of me. All in all, a man's fantasy fulfilled for 3750. While it sounds like alot, it's just a hair over $100 for the fantasy of a lifetime. And with two BEAUTIFUL girls. $100 doesn't even get you 15 minutes of bitchy attitude from a single girl in the US!
Also have to admit I hit a Lady Boy bar as part of my indoctrination to Pattaya. Found one called "Obsessions", right on the edge of Boys Town. Sat down, watched the show for a while, freaky actually, but the girls (er, boys), really looked good. I have to admit they can really fool you if you aren't watching for it. I say a little freaky, because their uniform is dental floss bikini top, mini-mini skirt, chain cuffs on their wrists and neck, and most of them dangling a dildo for effect. Ok, not my thing, but it does look sexy in a way (any real girl bars that have that look? ). For those that are interested to watch a show like that, go for it with an open mind, but beware of the lady drinks, as they are STEEP (like 350 B for my draft beer and her/his drink)! Left after a while, saw what that was all about, and went back to the real thing afterward.
All in all, a great 3 days in Pattaya, and can't wait to go back for Round 2. Once you get there, a really cheap and most enjoyable vacation.

Why not just buy a beer at 7-11 and sit on the beach. The food is not cheap as you claim. The Beer garden in pattaya is a pathetic attempt at duplicating the one in Bkk. Avoid it! If they actually had decent looking freelance girls that hung out there, then I'd give it a thumbs up. Instead it's just a bunch of old farts sharing war stories.

don't know what I was thinking - 200B was for the 4 pack of Kam. Watch where it comes from and the dosage, though - some is 50mg and they try to get the same price. The gel is 100mg and works quite a bit faster. ASK if it's "chinese" and if it is run away - it's all fake. The INDIAN stuff is OK, chinese is compressed sugar (or worse). I don't think they have made it into the gel yet, though. Not quite enough market

How "safe" is it to rent a scooter?
I mean, isn't there quite a risk that it might get stolen or something simillar? I think it is quite safe. Each hotel has a parking lot for scooters and if you go to a bar, you park in front of it (except walking street). Even everybody leaves the helmet unlocked on the motorbike (of course bike must be locked).
You should have a little experience to drive, as there are thousands of scooters arround you, and the Thais drive like crazy. And if you are not used to drive on the left side, makes it a little bit more difficult at the beginning.
Don't drive without helmet, otherwise Police will catch you. They are everywhere.

Anyone know how to (or how hard it would be to) charter a boat to a nearby island and stay the night there? ...I have no idea how to plan such an event, but it would be ideal if we could do that.

42 people arrested following raid on insomnia club on walking street.
insomnia club located on walking street is a popular late night venue but in the early hours of saturday morning they received some unwelcomed visitors, namely a team of police officers from chonburi provincial police led by police colonel tirapong, the deputy commander of chonburi provincial police. a group of pattaya police officers were also in attendance to assist in the operation. the raid took place at 5.30am and there were approximately 500 patrons inside at the time. all were checked for the presence of narcotics in their systems via [CodeWord109] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord109) checks and 40 patrons, 34 women and 6 men failed the test and were subsequently arrested and charged with consuming class 1 drugs. two men accused of supplying class 1 drugs were also arrested at the scene. the manager of the venue was also arrested and a report will now be sent to the banglamung district licensing officer who must also consider the fact that the club was open well after its permitted time.

nightclub raided and patrons arrested
in the very early hours of monday morning khun pongsit, the deputy chief of banglamung district, and officers from banglamung and pattaya police stations decided to get into the mixx nightclub at the bali-hai port end of south pattaya. approximately 200 patrons were inside at the time and all were asked to provide a [CodeWord109] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord109) sample to test whether they had ingested illegal narcotics in recent hours. the result of the testing saw 43 people, 41 females and two males, all thai nationals, return a positive to methamphetamine in their systems. they were subsequently arrested and brought to a local police station to be charged with drug use offences. the nightclub was open after its official operating hours and a report will be sent to the banglamung licensing authorities for further action.

How "safe" is it to rent a scooter?
I mean, isn't there quite a risk that it might get stolen or something simillar?
Are you interested in 'Safe' with regard to security of the Scooter etc whilst parked, or the 'Safety' of driving on the roads??
I have rented scooters and larger bikes with no problem whatsoever. The main thing is you hire a reasonably good one from a reputable (if there is one!!) hirer.
The bike must have a good Steering Lock and an under saddle compartment for bags/helmet etc.
As for security when parked - I have never had any problems, there are millions of scooters, and with a decent one with locks as described, there should be no issues at all.
As for safety on the roads - Yes agreed, it is madness and the Thais drive like lunatics, however there are relatively few accidents given the sheer number of bikes in such small areas. I have been seen plenty of 'near misses' and had quite a few myself, however if you go with the flow, take it easy, then no problem.
In fact renting a bike to get out and about is one of the highlights of my trips to LOS - there are many others too :)

I was there last night as well, and I think it will be my last time. The girl I chose was very cute with a fabulous body, and no kids. But from the minute we walked into the room, all she would talk about is that I should barfine her for the night. She wanted me to pay 2,800 baht to the papasan, so then we could go out drinking and dancing and boomboom all night. When I told her I'd consider it for the next night, she just wouldn't shut up talking about it. It took all of the fun and excitement out ot the current session. I couldn't enjoy myself because I couldn't get her to shut up and do what I had just paid 1,700 baht for!!!

Scooters are safe to rent. Driving them is up to you. There are about 10 billion scooters there and the likelyhood of a crappy rental getting stolen is pretty low. Driving them is another story. If you stay to the side and go slow you are fine. If you try to weave throughout and keep up with the locals you will kill yourself on those damn buses.

what is very fast? i can’t recall ever having problems with internet speed in pattaya. there's an internet shop on beach road near soi 10 (by subway restaurant) with some new computers and very reliable service but the same could be said of many other places in town.

Press Conference announces arrest of motorbike thieves
On Monday afternoon Police Colonel Somnuk, the chief of Banglamung station, called a press conference to announce the arrest of three Thai males on charges of taking motorbikes that didn't belong to them and selling them onto an agent in Cambodia. The leader of the gang, aged 50, and his senior accomplice, aged 29, were paraded before the assembled media along with a selection of motorbikes they had stolen in recent times. A 17-year-old youth, also apprehended with the other two, was left in the cells. Police said the gang stole motorbikes to order from an agent in Cambodia. This agent would send a shopping list and the trio would trek off in search of the required make, colour and model. They were caught by alert police who became suspicious when they saw two of the arrestees riding a motorbike without a number plate. Police pulled them over and asked the pair to provide details of the provenance of the bike. This was not forthcoming and under interrogation they admitted to being common bike thieves

Utopia Massage on 2nd road about a block or 2 south of Pattaya South Road. The best looking group of girls I've ever seen at a massage parlor. They all seem to be from near the Laos border, and they're taller and thinner than most of the other girls in town. Regular prices prevail. I had a 1 hour foot massage, and a 2 hour oil massage for 800 baht and a HE for 500 baht more. 3 hours of pure relaxation for 1300 baht. Not bad for under $36 USD. In Las Vegas, a 40 minute half assed attempt at a massage and HE is $120.

There are dozens of internet cafes all over, and most hotels have business centers. They're fast, reliable, and very cheap. I left my laptop home this time because these cafes are great. I'm at one now, and it's as fast as my connection at home. 1 baht/minute which is about $1.67 USD per hour. Not worth the hassle of carrying a laptop.

Extremely unlikely. If you are concerned about that make a point to rent an old one and if possible not a Honda. Theives will only be interested in Hondas or the newest motorbikes. You can get old beaters for 100 baht/day.

Police raid puts the heat on the Hell Club
Just after midnight on Wednesday police based at the Pattaya station raided the premises of the Hell Club, located in Soi LK Metro in south Pattaya, where they arrested 13 Thai ladies and a Mr Jack Daigle, a 48-year-old American national who has been described as the owner of the establishment. Police were apparently alerted to the premises after allegedly finding information on the internet whereby the Hell Club offered potential patrons sexual services of a high standard and catering to all kinds of tastes. Inside the club they uncovered a veritable Aladdin's cave of plastic sex toys, sexual enhancement pills, a variety of gels and enough condoms to prevent a rubber factory from ever going broke. Back at the police station the 13 ladies were tested for drug use and five were found to have recently ingested methamphetamines and charged with class 1 drug offences. Police have sent their video and still camera footage of the raid and the impounded goodies to the Banglamung licensing authority for their comments, and will also be checking the license of the establishment.

Rocket a-go-go, located on Walking Street upstairs at the South side of the entrance to Soi Diamond, was always a decent place to enjoy happy hour drinks for 50 baht while watching a somewhat mediocre lineup of girls shufflling about on the stage -- until tonight it was.
I walked in at 8:30, ordered a gin & tonic, and noticed that I was only one of about two or three other customers. When the girl came back with the drink she handed me a check and wanted me to pay 150 baht right away. (I NEVER pay that much for a drink in Pattaya) Mildly shocked, I waived her off, told her I thought it was happy hour, said I didn't want the drink, and stood up to walk out of the bar. As I reached the door, I could hear her behind me raising her voice, and before I was halfway down the stairs, I was surrounded by 4 or 5 Thai goons blocking my path and demanding 150 baht.
I calmly told them I didn't want the drink and asked them to get the tourist police. This made them start to squirm and break off eye contact with me, but they still blocked my path and kept insisting that I pay the bill. When I told them I visit their bar often and thought it was happy hour, one of them -- a big sucker -- told me they changed their format a week ago. "Now we have pussy show," he explained, "you know, girls shoot darts and smoke cigarettes with their pussies." I responded that I don't like those kinds of shows, and asked again for the police.
Well, to make a long story short, the big one lowered his demand to 100 baht. I wasn't going to make a scene over $3 bucks, so I handed him the money and told him I would never visit this bar again. He shrugged his shoulders and took the cash.
I knew this place was hurting for customers, but I never thought it would be turned into a patpong style ripoff joint. I didn't think there were any such shit holes in Pattaya. This makes two bars now that will never get my business again -- Rocket and What's Up, where I was treated rudely some months ago.
It's no great loss for me, as there are hundreds of good bars in Pattaya. I walked the short distance over to Heaven Above, enjoyed a 50 baht happy hour drink, and finished the evening with 2 more 50 baht happy hour drinks at Happy, where I'm always welcomed with open arms and the girls are far better to look at. Live and learn.

again it may not be sound as I rented a beater once and never again. Honda are reliable but some other brands are hell on wheels. Dont expect the electric starter to work (foot crank start the norm), expect it to konk out every so often etc.
Just rent a better bike and insist on a good lock for it.

They actually run the gamut from early twenties to mid thirties, with a few older ladies thrown in. Of course, as with all Asians, they age VERY well, and some of the ladies in their thirties look like teens. I've noticed something this trip that I've not seen before. Many of the parlors will have a nice looking young girl acting as a tout out in front, and when you say that you do want a massage, the cute one will walk you inside and try to hand you over to some old hag that is in the back. They use a rotation system so that everyone gets a turn. But if you stand your ground, and point to the one you want, you will get her. Business here is really slow, and I know that the young, attractive girls are just doing their part as practiced in their culture to have utmost respect for their elders. This is their perceived system of social security!!!

Yep! That's the purpose of my report -- to tip off my friends about a place to avoid, and to get a small modicum of satisfaction for being ripped off. If only one punter avoids this bar in the future, Rocket will lose at least the same amount that I lost. If hundreds of guys stay away, that place will feel the pain that they should.

It's no great loss for me, as there are hundreds of good bars in Pattaya. I walked the short distance over to Heaven Above, enjoyed a 50 baht happy hour drink, and finished the evening with 2 more 50 baht happy hour drinks at Happy, where I'm always welcomed with open arms and the girls are far better to look at. Live and learn.

I'm told that this sort of thing happens all the time in the upstairs joints at patpong in Bangkok, but I was surprised that it happened here.
The best thing to do is to avoid these joints when you find out about their scams. I think I got a rather cheap lesson.

Rocket a-go-go, located on Walking Street upstairs at the South side of the entrance to Soi Diamond, was always a decent place to enjoy happy hour drinks for 50 baht while watching a somewhat mediocre lineup of girls shufflling about on the stage -- until tonight it was.
I calmly told them I didn't want the drink and asked them to get the tourist police. This made them start to squirm and break off eye contact with me, but they still blocked my path and kept insisting that I pay the bill. When I told them I visit their bar often and thought it was happy hour, one of them -- a big sucker -- told me they changed their format a week ago. "Now we have pussy show," he explained, "you know, girls shoot darts and smoke cigarettes with their pussies." I responded that I don't like those kinds of shows, and asked again for the police.
Well, to make a long story short, the big one lowered his demand to 100 baht. I wasn't going to make a scene over $3 bucks, so I handed him the money and told him I would never visit this bar again. He shrugged his shoulders and took the cash.
I knew this place was hurting for customers, but I never thought it would be turned into a patpong style ripoff joint. I didn't think there were any such shit holes in Pattaya.
I tried that tourist police stuff last night but it didn't work. A couple of drivers kicked us off a couple of baht buses because they wanted us to pay 100 baht to go from Soi 13 to Soi 8. Why the hell would I pay the baht bus 3 times more than I would a taxi? We finally got one to accept the regular 10 baht fee.
As for the Patpong Hustle. I took my dad to Patpong a few nights ago because this is his first time in Thailand. I knew what we were in for. The tout took us to the first bar and there was no show. I started shouting saying there is no fucking show in here I am leaving. So he calmed me down and took me to 2 more bars until the last finally did a show on request asap. I had gotten kicked out of this place once before when I was with friends. I had warned them against entering but they insisted.
So with me and my dad. The manager brought us 2 Heinekens and the bill cup with no bills. I asked how much for the drinks and she said 100 each then scurried off before I could take out money to pay. I promptly put 200 baht in the cup and waited for her to return. We were enjoying the show and being bombarded by ping pong balls out of an older lady's pussy until the manager finally came back 10 minutes later with a card on which was written "Drink: 300 baht, 1st show: "can't remember", 2nd show: 1300 baht" I handed her the cup with the 200 baht and she chased us out of the bar. We had a good laugh then went over to the Kangaroo Club for blow jobs.
When the girl came back with the drink she handed me a check and wanted me to pay 150 baht right away. (I NEVER pay that much for a drink in Pattaya) Mildly shocked, I waived her off, told her I thought it was happy hour, said I didn't want the drink, and stood up to walk out of the bar. Best is to get ungry with the manager AND pay. They are not going to tell you anything, and you get some satisfaction.

Yep! That's the purpose of my report -- to tip off my friends about a place to avoid, and to get a small modicum of satisfaction for being ripped off.
I toyed with the idea of telling the thugs that I would report the incident on this ISG forum, but decided that the warning would be ignored, so I kept quiet.

Informing the thugs about ISG will not mean anything to them anyway. Anyone in Patts even knowing about ISG is in a very very small minority. We mongers here who are members of ISG are truly in a small community and blessed.

Yes, the report are correct. The tourist police will not get involve for simple 10b rides but will get involve if they force you to pay some ungodly amount (its call a scam or theft). Sometimes they are there to iron things out if they get out of hand but mostly to take down reports of thefts and accidents etc. as they are really the only ones that are somewhat fluent in our language to do so.

I know. But I just like to talk shit. Besides US$3 isn't worth the time it would take to go down to Beach Road to find a cop. My baht bus days are over. This is my 5th trip to Pattaya and I am finally starting to rent motorbikes. Hell they are only 150 baht/day, 200 baht/day for a faster one. Plus I get to go all over the city whenever I want and have a phu ying behind me. It sure beats walking!

Personally, the attached pics are not considered a BIG bike. A big bike is a Harley Ultra, BMW LT, or even a Honda Goldwing. THe pics are, at best, a midsize.
Bikes, more so than women, can creat a big debate what is good vs great. Here in the USA The attached pics would not get much of a notice from the Harley crowd, other than a chuckle. The term motorBIKE is rarely used. They are motorcycles. A Harley BIKER would not be seen near, much less ON a Honda, Yamaha, etc.
Rent what YOU want and let the other ego's to their own. Rent a small scooter, motorbike, or whatever you want to call 'them. You will have a BLAST. Just don't drink when you do. And carry insurance from home.
I rented a motorBIKE, 125 cc, for about 5 USA A day. They are all over if you look. Just make sure it is not too old. They will try to give you garbage. Pick out the bike you want to rent and ask how much. Just like the woman. Walk away as there will be hundres more to choose from down the street.

I was in Payttaya for Burrapa motorcycle ralley(wish I had a Harley of course!). A shadow(400cc-Vtwin chopper) was going for 700+ I rented a 400cc Honda 4 cylinder for 500, also a gauge price!
To get around all you need is a 100 bht, 125 cc honda. Egos aside, Unless you're riding w friends w/ larger bikes, longer rides, this will get you around. YEA, it's not as cool, but???$$$
BTW My 400cc, 4 cylinder honda blew the doors off my friends chopper (400cc shadow)

However she did once return to the bike and find five or six flies on a sticky patch on the seat, I kid you not :D

Soi Post Office right next to Pizza hut(Beach Road) There is a guy who rents all kinds of bike. You will see many right there. Putters, rice grinders, choppers, etc.
He is a nice guy, BUT negotiate! He usually has a lady taking care of most of his buisiness. Ask to talk to the man. Check the brake lights, blinkers, headlight, and fuel level before you take off any where you rent. Pain to return w/ prob as I learned first time. Most his stuff is well cared for. He is very popular, and well known amongst serious bike renters.

Well I found myself back in Pattaya after a trip to Isaan, its funny how this place has a habit of drawing you back time after time. Yesterday morning my flight from Udon Thani arrived ahead of schedule and by 11am I was on a air con bus to Pattaya direct from the airport for 106 baht. Trip took about one and a half hours which is a huge improvement from the time it takes from Ekhamai. Checked in to a hotel on Soi 8 and by 1pm was back in my old hunting grounds. Was amazed how many girls were lined up along the beach road this time, more than I have ever seen before. Noticed one or two old faces and I spent a couple of hours walking up and down. Things are a lot better here than they were last week with the music festival that took place and at least there is room to walk around again. Nothing really took my fancy, I think the more choice I have the more picky I tend to get! Anyway later that evening I ended up at one of the open plan bars on the beach road, it is the last big one before you get to Walking Street, after the Royal Garden Plaza and has a ring inside with Muay Thai boxing on in the evenings. I sat in the middle of three bars and was immediately attracted to a young girl sitting at the far bar (the one nearest to Walking Street). She had a cute young face, made eye contact and smiled and gave off all the right signals. I felt a stirring in my loins and without further ado walked around to introduce myself. The girl did not speak a word of English and it transpires this was her third day at the bar and I was her first Farang. I guess the warning signals were there already but I bar fined her and took her back to the hotel.
I had picked her out because of her lovely smile, her almost innocent face and tiny frame and even though she was 22, she could have passed for 18. The first of the horrors started to emerge when she told me she had a young baby. I began to imagine saggy breasts an oversized pussy and stretch marks and I was not to be disappointed. I could feel the lack of interest starting to take effect between my legs but decided to pesevere and soldier on. She knew I was unhappy and begged me not to go back to the bar to complain. She told me that the Mamasan would physically assault her if I complained and that she was desperate for the money. I told her in no uncertain terms that if she continued in this way lots of her customers will complain. Anyway despite being very unhappy I agreed not to complain. In the morning I wanted more sex but she refused and by 8am had left with my 1000 baht. Some of you will probably scold me for even paying her but I felt sorry for her or at least I did until I had time to reflect. I then decided against my better judgement to go back to the bar it still being only 9.30am. The bar at that time had at least 5 girls working which was surprising and I went to see the Mamasan. Although I had said to the girl I would not complain, I had given it a lot of thought and decided on reflection that it was just not acceptable to behave in this way. The Mamasan was counting last nights takings and appeared totally disinterested in speaking to me. I waited at the bar and asked her when she would be free to speak. She told me she was too busy and would not even come over to listen to me. I felt that it was me that had been @#$%ed and not the girl I had taken back. I post this as a warning to other members, firstly always check before you bar fine a girl, to see if they have had kids. It is not always obvious as my experience shows. Also I would suggest you give this particular bar and its girls a wide berth. Incidentally I am not in the habit of ever posting names, but in this instance I will make a rare exception. The girls name is Jar and she is from Ubon

Agreed Mortman, having had a few ''not so good'' experiences I now tend to lean more towards the lesser clothed Go-Gos where a man can see the goods before buying. Anything carrying a hint of a ''Spunk Belly'' or stretch marks is not my cup of tea at all. If I do see a very fanciable Bar-Girl, as you did in this case, I will always ask about babies, boyfriends, etc etc before I waste any time or money. Then there is the DFK and Roving Hands test as described, just to make sure.
After all there are plenty to choose from and I am sure more than one for every taste.
The attitude of the mamasan etc is not good for the bar, and the girl was also not good for business, however there might just be a cutie in there to satisfy someones requirements. I wouldnt give the bar a miss, but after your advice, I would view it with a cautious eye. Plenty more to choose from.

Decided to try out some freelancers yesterday evening. Went to Lucifers and then on to Tonys Discoteque. Bought a bottle of San Miguel light in Tonys, cost 210 baht....WTF. End up with a mature lady this time, slim and not a single ounce of fat anywhere. Tells me she is from BKK and works in a hair salon. This hooking business must just be a part time job for her. Anyway take her back and after 2 solid hours of the most raunchy sex I have ever had, I finally get to sleep at 4am. This girl did everything and I mean everything and having her tongue pushed deep inside my anus was a pleasant surprise. She never asked for money from the moment we met so I gave her a 1000 baht later the following day, with a firm intention to meet tonight again. Guess I am just getting old and boring. Anyway off to see my honey from last night with a heightened anticipation. Just had the buffet dinner at the Lek for 180 baht and have to say that it was excellent quality. I don't know how they make a profit, tonights menu included a variety of sea food including king prawns and fillet steak. In my humble opinion probably the best value buffet combined with quality in Pattaya at the moment.
Will probably see my darling until Monday when I return to BKK. She even cleaned my room this morning and had put toothpaste on my toothbrush. Decided to try out some freelancers yesterday evening. Went to Lucifers and then on to Tonys Discoteque. Bought a bottle of San Miguel light in Tonys, cost 210 baht....WTF.
Yeah those club prices are ridiculous. A Heineken at Lucifer is 160 compared to 39 at 711. One of my regular pros who hangs at Lucifer told me that if they are alone then the drink costs them 90 (still a hefty sum over 39) but if they are with a farang then it will have to be purchased at the menu price. She said to just find a girl who is alone and get her to buy your drinks for you.
What I did Wednesday night was arrived at 1200 and bought 1 beer. The club was empty at that time but filled up at 1230. At 1245 I had made my choice and was on my way back to the room to hibernate. I think this will be my routine from now on. Why hang out late spending unnecessary dough on drinks/fun when I could stretch my 1000 baht out over a few more hours cozied up with the pussy.

Always thought that the Apex breakfast buffet is amazing value. Rooms are shit though, but very cheap, which might explain why the place is always full.
Arrived at the airport at 8pm and everything went smooth. Was surprised that no taxi touts approached me in the terminal building, they may have had a clean up, so I just took a regular taxi for 1500B. It took only 1.5 hour to get to Pattaya, but of course I got the taxi driver who obviously had never been in Pattaya before. Before I manage to get my bearings we turned off the main road and we were in some back streets, hell knows where. I gave him the card for Honey Lodge, right where Beach Rd and Walking Street meets. But Beach Rd didn’t ring a bell to him. So he inquired with several moto-guys but obviously thai-thai communication didn’t work either. Then after a much too long time we passed Tony’s Gym on 3rd Rd and I instructed him right at the next crossing and we got our self down on 2nd Rd. I was tempted to get off there and walk the 100 meters or so to the hotel. But he quickly proceeded on 2nd Rd. Now making him understand take first road left wasn’t so easy. Once more he stopped to ask directions and I heard soi 10 being mentioned. Ok, guessed that’s the next street connecting to Beach Rd. However he turned right up soi 10 2nd Rd. NO, NO, NO. Left, I said left pointing both my arms towards the sea. So eventually we got down the right soi 10 and onto the dense traffic at Beach Rd.
Finally got there, unpacked and went out for a eat and get some toiletries and condoms. Back to the hotel for a quick shower and promenade along Walking Street. Dropped in at Lucifer’s which was quite crowded by midnight, lots of girls there, but to dark to really see your catch before you bring her out in daylight. Didn’t fancy the load rap music the band was playing either, so went on to Marine Disco which as usual was almost empty. Back to my plan for the evening. Gosh, I really thought that the little sweethearts loved old men and spread their legs for us because we're so much nicer than Thai men.
The discussion about buffets at the Apex and Lek Hotels, (both of which are top notch values for the baht), has got me thinking about other suggestions for great and inexpensive places to eat in Pattaya.
Here are a few of my favorites:
A good place for Thai food can be found between soi’s 3 and 4 on Jomtien beach road right across the street from the beach. It’s a collection of food stalls or carts lining the whole block and offering just about everything you can think of at cheep prices. Beef, bugs, chicken, pork, duck, soups, prawns, squid, fish, shellfish; every kind of sea food is featured, and menu’s are available in several languages to help you sort it all out. I often stop there on my way back to my condo to buy a whole fish for 80-100 baht, and 20 baht worth of steamed rice, which is enough to make 4 tasty meals at home.
Those roasted Isaan chickens you often see turning on spits by the side of the road are also good values at 100-110 baht depending on where you buy them. Buy one; take it home; take it apart, and you can get several meals out of it. They’re great for chicken sandwiches too.
Finally, some of the larger outside markets which cater to Thais have a wonderful variety of food stalls offering hundreds of different selections from A to Z. Just walk up and down the aisles picking and choosing at your pleasure; have it all packed into plastic bags, and take it home to enjoy. The weekend market on Theprasset Rd near Tesco Lotus is a good one. And, don’t forget the food courts at the big malls, including Tuk.Com, Carrefore, Royal Garden, and Tesco Lotus – lots of good stuff cheap.
I’m always interested in checking out other places and would appreciate more suggestions.

We all start with good intentions, mine is to file a daily report whilst I am here.
Arrived on time using Bell travels 200 Bhat 18:00hrs bus, when we got to the bus station in Pattaya we had to change vehicles to be dropped off at our respective hotels, things were Thai style disorganized so rather hang around I hopped on a moto cy 60 bhat to Soi Diana you may have seen a Farang last night on the back of a bike with suit cases balanced on both driver and passengers knees.
First stop was Soi honey for the inevitable oily release (easiest 500 she's made all week)
Had a few beers then early to bed knackered from the travelling, had a bar girl from the same soi, only 2 weeks here, no English but a very nice and caring girl.
The LK Renaissance, I was a little worried about the possible noise problem but it is fine, the room is very nice and well furnished and the staff are really friendly, I also got what I think is a good deal on Agoda (7 nights for £250 including breakfast) it works out about £34/night, I normally stay at the Sandy springs which is 1600Bhat (around £32/night) the Renaissance is in a league above.
I am into fishing either sea or lake/ river anybody of any good fishing trips or places around please let me know.

I've seen a number of reports about transport to Pattaya and thought I'd offer some information.
First, a taxi is of course the quickest and most convenient, but don't agree to a price of 1500 baht. You can always get a better deal if you look like you're willing to walk. Just head downstairs to the ground level where the buses depart. There the taxis will go for less. I've had no trouble getting to 1000 baht. There are usually several people looking for a ride, so you might succeed sharing a ride, if that is your interest.
There are at least two bus options. One is had at a dispatch desk on the ground floor at the far end of the terminal. I think the last bus leaves about 5:15PM and it costs around 150 or 200 baht. It will take you to two or three spots in Pattaya. From there catch a baht bus or a motorbike to your hotel.
The second option is to take the airport shuttle out to the bus terminal at the edge of the airport grounds. In the center of the terminal is a desk for Pattaya. A ticket is about 110 baht and the buses leave every two hours up until 7PM. The bus goes to the Pattaya bus terminal. Along the way it wil stop several times to let locals out, but the real destination is the Pattaya bus terminal.

As there has been a lot of discussions on Buffet style lunches, I would like to point out that this hotel also offers a very good buffet style dinner for 192bt.
The food is always hot unlike the others and they also have a bbq outside.
This hotel is on soi bahkaou 100m from Central Rd.
The LK Renaissance, I was a little worried about the possible noise problem but it is fine, the room is very nice and well furnished and the staff are really friendly, I also got what I think is a good deal on Agoda (7 nights for £250 including breakfast) it works out about £34/night, I normally stay at the Sandy springs which is 1600Bhat (around £32/night) the Renaissance is in a league above.

The LK Renaissance, I was a little worried about the possible noise problem but it is fine, the room is very nice and well furnished and the staff are really friendly, I also got what I think is a good deal on Agoda (7 nights for £250 including breakfast) it works out about £34/night, I normally stay at the Sandy springs which is 1600Bhat (around £32/night) the Renaissance is in a league above.
I am into fishing either sea or lake/ river anybody of any good fishing trips or places around please let me know.

Yes, I'm afraid it is as bad as you hear. Actually it is worse than bad and goes on for around a week (only in Pattaya - Why? I don't know. I don't think anyone knows).
Basically In Pattaya for the full 7 days leading up to Songkran (remember in the rest of Thailand it only lasts for 3 days) you will constantly have water thrown at you in many shapes and forms usually from mid morning up to around 9 O'clock at night. At best you will be sprayed with water pistols, at worst you will have buckets of ice cold water thrown over you, usually while waiting in traffic either on a motorbike or while sitting in one of those open sided blue baht buses. Cameras and mobile phones get ruined, the money inside your pockets or wallet looks like it's just come out of a washing machine and you wisely dress down.
It's bad enough being a tourist there for Songkran week but I do feel for the ordinary Thai workers (and foreigners) who have to travel to and from their places of work or have to just get on with their lives and usually get a good soaking too. several times a day.
Imagine going out to dinner, or just going shopping while dripping wet and being blasted with freezing cold air conditioning once you go inside. Talk about catching a cold!
Naturally tempers flair and those who can afford it leave town. Some businesses - usually restaurants - also close for that week.
Songkran in Pattaya is basically an experience. If you are there you basically have two choices - join in or join in, don't fight it because you wont win.
Having said this, the final two days of Songkran in Pattaya are something. A great carnival atmosphere and very sensual, makes your average Miss Wet Tee-shirt contest look like a church service and if you do become attached to a favourite place or bar and fancy some of the girls, head there for the day and join in the fun.

After being in Pattaya last year through out Songkran I never want to be there again at the same time!
Check last years report and it gives detail, basically many of the girls are happy playing with plastic water pistols instead of the fleshy ones during SK.

just to give some background and experience. i travel a lot on business and travel to bangkok often and use the aot car service at the airport. i know it is a rip off from bkk to bangkok, but the camrys are big and comfortable and impeccably clean. all the drivers i had previously spoke enough english. they are always punctual (hotel back to bkk) so i always justify the extra cost to the service and besides my company picks up the tab.
so the first time i went to pattaya, i used them and was quoted 3000 baht. i figured i would pay extra because i did not reserve a car from a pattaya car service and if i tried to get a regular taxi, they will not know where they are going. well, needless to say everything went wrong. we arrived in pattaya in good time (about a hour) but the driver took another hour to find my hotel (tim boutique) and must have asked 7 different people including motor taxi and taxi cab drivers. in fact, he took me to the wrong hotel (boutique hotel) at first and i told him it was the wrong hotel but he insisted it was the right one. so i dragged him to the front desk of the boutique hotel to convince him it was the wrong hotel. plus he spoke zero english. i even had a printed map with instruction in thai which he did not pay attention to at all. needless to say, i want to avoid this at all cost my next trip.
so on my second trip to pattaya, i reserved a pattaya car service whose e-mail address i found on this forum and he quoted me 1100 baht. well, because the bkk meeting area is a madhouse, we missed each other but while looking for him, several people approached me about car service to pattaya. one quoted me 1200 baht but i quickly said i had car reserved for 1100 and she quickly went down to 1100 baht. i made sure the car was a new camry so i would be comfortable in the backseat. this time the driver made it to the hotel in less than an hour (he was flying on the highway as bumby as it was) in fact when we hit pattaya traffic, the guy knew enough to take the backroads to avoid all the traffic. needless to say, i used him to go back to bkk. but alas i lost his number so in preparing for my next trip to pattaya next week, i am concerned.
do you think because it is songkran, i will have much less choices to pattaya? i don't want to have to resort to aot. i am hoping to see the same driver as i had last time but i am hoping that i will see other drivers that will have similar price and car size/cleanliess

Every thing is back to normal now. Except the water festival, it is fun the first time you in it. But, after five years it gets old. Don't even think of going to Bangkok now though. Just head straight from the airport to Pattaya and you will be fine.
In the end of March I started my 3 days in Pattaya at Windmill around 19:30 and generally stayed there an hour or two before going to other bars. My last day there was on a Monday and I had intended to barfine a dancer that I had gotten to know the previous two days.

The next day on the way back to Bangkok I sent a complaint to the Windmill web site not expecting a reply, and to this day never received one. I quoted them some of their propaganda on their web site about the customer being right and “how long” is “up to you”.
Although I had a good time there, I will even think trying to barfine someone there again.

Hi all,
Well I finally arrived in Pattaya and the water festivities are ongoing and I did get wet but was prepared with money/cards in a sealable bag. However, I did figure out the places where people tend to gather and get you wet so just avoid them and you can get around ok. Traveling by baht bus is a risk though.
Anyway, arriving on Day 1 (the last official day of Song Kran), I stocked up my fridge with beer and water so the ladies when they raid the fridge would raid the stuff from 7-11 versus hotel prices.
