Just took a 3 hour tour of sois 6, 7, 8, & Yamoto & Post Office. Saw precisely one good looking girl in all that hideousness, & unsurprisingly she was unwilling to go. Pattaya now hopeless!That pretty much mirrors my 4 trips to Pattaya over the past couple of years, although my most notable hunt turned up about a half dozen girls from different bars around town, mostly Soi 6, who I thought attractive. All half dozen or more of them said no to an ordinary sexual request commonly agreed to in Bangkok and I did not take them. I have gone there because friends want to go. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. I used to much prefer Pattaya over Bangkok. But that was 20+ years ago.

One point some miss is that it isn't just a serious treasure hunt to find a girl worthy of engaging based on her looks. It is, as you alluded to, a matter of finding one who will go with you. And I will add a further hurdle; after you've found the looker that agrees to go with you, how godawful will she be in the room after all the effort. In my experience, that third one turns out to be the highest hurdle of all.

On my last trip it struck me that, not only are the vast majority of bargirls, go-go girls and freelancers in Pattaya virtually un-doable based on looks, even the regular girls working in the shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters, going to and from their offices, etc. are way less attractive than their Bangkok counterparts. I think the pull and potential opportunities for the better looking (and better skilled, more accommodating) women of this part of Thailand to the Big Mango in the north is just too great to resist as soon as they can rustle up the 150 baht or so to take that 2-3 hour bus ride.

I just stayed two nights on Soi Post Office. This is not the place to look for women.

Agree but there were 3 places in the Summer in the area. One was a young and cute girl at U-Turn cafe a few doors down from Post Office. The other place were Kiss Chill and JJ Karaoke on 3rd Road between LK President and Cherry's restaurant. On some nights, Kiss Chill would have the best lineup in Pattaya, competing with top gogo bars. Unfortunately, all 3 places have been shut down since around October/November.

Could you tell me what other destination worldwide that beats Pattaya, for sure it's not Angeles PH or Artemis Berlin.

I'm not saying there's a better place. I'm saying there is *no* place. We enter our dotage, gentlemen, as our enemies would say "god intended it" - without access to that most important of life's few comforts.

But as some have mentioned below, other parts of Thailand - even the unpleasant capital - may still offer some hope for those capable of major spending & arduous searching.

You probably mean hopeless at the lower price level. If you are willing to spend more money, there are plenty of eye candy at the high end establishments, such as the popular GoGo bars, like Sensations and Baccara. Unless you are that picky, in which case forget about Pattaya, and probably Thailand as well.Yes I do sometimes give up hunting & resort to those high-priced go-gos; during normal season one can reliably find very attractive girls there, but not so during high season. Even in these extravagantly expensive places it seemed very picked-over.

Ha ha. Surely this depends a lot on personal taste. I hate the girls in Rainbow 5 and find very few are exciting me in Thermae as well. Have not even been in Rainbow 1 for quite a long time. So not rating these as top for Bangkok for my taste. I would not claim that pretty Pattaya girls are too difficult to find. However your taste won't be like mine.

I assume that with prices in Pattaya getting much closer to Bangkok prices these days, that the standard of girls must have improved a lot. In former times, pretty girls would have known that they could make possibly double the money in Bangkok over Pattaya, but I assume that this has evened out and not the case any more.

I only remember Bacarra as the name of one go-go bar we went into. There were 2-3 others but don't remember the names. Also, Windmill Bar, but I would not use that one as an example of Pattaya's finest looking P4 P girls.

They all had customers and seemed to be popular clubs. I think Bacarra was the one where the 2-3 very good looking girls could not pull their eyes away from the young Asian customers as they entered and sat there. And I would say neither me nor my friend got warm and encouraging vibes from any of the better looking girls in any of the go-go bars we went to. They acted as if they were the Grand Prizes in all of Pattaya. Which I suppose they were even though I would not rate any I saw above a go-go bargirl 7. 5 or 8 at the outside in terms of looks.

And as I said, the level of attractiveness is just the begining of the hurdles to clear before you get to a truly worthwhile experience. Attitude and vibe would be next and that is where the aloof disinterest from the 2-3 good looking girls in those bars comes in.

This was about 6 months ago.Ha Ha. I don't disagree. This could easily happen to you in Baccara (Bangkok) and Thermae too, and has happened to me. I have found girls that were not keen to even answer (not even a single word of rejection), when I spoke to them quite nicely, I thought, to check if they were available. They could have given me a simple "Mai Waang" (busy). Choosing the right venue is critical. Normally it is me, completely ignoring the unwanted girls approaching. LOL.

We get to know we are second class citizens in some clubs (assumed Stingy? or arrogant? or demanding?), and others are demoted to 3rd class, etc.

If I see someone I like I will get them a drink while they are on stage. If she wasn't smiling she will have a huge smile when she knows money is coming her way. Next time you're in town ask me for a current list of the most fun and good gogo bars to find nice girls.

I would not claim that pretty Pattaya girls are too difficult to find. However your taste won't be like mine.

Why does it seem that so many people make a point of posting complaints about their Pattaya experience? They went to Pattaya and their visit did not live up to their expectations, therefore Pattaya is done? Hey I spent a few days there last month, and I had a blast. I can't wait to go back. So, what did I experience that the not satisfied could not attain?

I would opine that those who complain simply have unreal expectations, and possibly an exaggerated sense of self-importance. What? The most beautiful women in Asia didn't throw themselves on you? I guess my standards are a bit lower. I was happy with having cute Asian girls call out to me ever 5 feet I walked.

And these complaints about not getting the most attractive women reeks of insecurity. I've had beautiful girlfriends in the past and was even married to a beautiful East European woman for 12 years. I say she was beautiful because I was constantly told she was. Whenever my colleagues me her, they told me that straight out. Unfortunately, one of her colleagues felt the same way and she reciprocated his feelings. I'm a happy bachelor now, and an even happier monger. I've got nothing to prove by seeking out the most beautiful women. I just want to have a good time with girls 30 years my junior. I'm 59, so that's easy!

But one thing I have learned from it all is that looks are not directly proportional to performance. That was the case with the ordinary women I met. And it applies to working girls, as well. One thing I have found since I resume mongering since the end of my marriage is that the prettiest girls can be the most "subdued" when you get them in the sack. I encountered this dilemma in Medellin last April. Beautiful girls, but didn't compare to what I engaged in Berlin, and nowhere near the level of service I got in the LOS. But, don't dump on Pattaya. Or any other mongering destination because Ms. Universe didn't rock your world for $50.

I met a girl at Insomnia last May (who was quite new here then having just come in from the Udon Thani area after a divorce after 8 years and 2 sons. Husband got himself a lady on the side and she left him). We hit it off then and had great vibes, attitude and total GFE. A solid 7. 5 and about 28 yo. Find out on this trip that she left Pattaya after 3 months at a GO GO (Aussie guy wanted her to stop working and paid the Go Go place (not a top Go Go) about 25 k baht. Was going to take her back with him to Australia after 10 days but could not get a visa. Later, she did not like Pattaya and went back after about 4 months in total with 100 k baht saved up. She said that when she was here there were nights when she'd go with a man, when she wondered if she would be alive the next day. Meaning, there are many, many low life, horrible guys here that these girls take a chance with. Things take their toll. Having to drink all day to earn money, then head out ST or LT, then sleep and come back and keep doing that again and again.

Well, she wanted to come back and stay with me but I held off for about a week. Could not find much better, so I had her come in after about 10 days here. Never any discussion about money, she paid her way in by bus (about 10 hours overnight ride), we never discussed money when she was here.

We/ I had a great GFE time and enjoyed music, discos, food, shopping etc. I'd bought her some dresses which were all XS USA sizes and all fit her super great. Took her to 7 all you can buffets (5 lunch buffets at the Hilton). Great live music venues, 4 times at Insomnia until at least 5 am. She always stayed snuggled up all the time and always together in bed for a true GFE. Spent a lot of money in total, obviously (but gladly) and after 10 days I sent her back home to her parents (oldest of 2 daughters), after she deposited the money I gave her (I was generous there too) into her bank account here. She paid for absolutely zero things when she was here, no rent, no nothing and also did a few touristy spots with me. I take cabs a lot and moto taxis only for very short rides. So, she felt pampered I am sure.

The point of all of the above is to say that:

1. Yes, it is difficult to find good ones. But when you find them, treat them well, and if it fits your MO, keep them for as long as you like the experience.

2. Hunting every night takes its toll on us too.

3. As we get older, we get pickier, and girls with today's Facebook, Instagram and other dating apps have more choices. Even at Insomnia I see so many Turkish guys throw money (like raining 20 bahts. 1000 bahts at a time) and stuff money 20,50 and 100 baht notes into the girls bras and panties when they are dancing up on stage at Insomnia). So, the girls see this and their expectations go up too.

Actually, from what I can see the younger guys ( in their 20's and 30's and way better looking than me) are not as picky. And, I think it is because they don't have the benefit of the inventory of comparisons tha we older guys have. And, IMO that is our problem. We are too picky. I know am! Very, very picky.

4. Adjust to the new realities in the world and play the field as it presents itself. There are many nice girls, but percentage wise only about 5-10 pc, so a lot of work, time and patience is required, if you are picky like me. Don't give up. Keep trying until you get what you want. Don't settle. You don't have to scrore every night, or a new girl every time. Quality counts. Dress cool. Always come across as fun and upbeat, even if you are in your 50's like me!

I had a similar experience in Lima, Peru in October for 2 weeks with a 20 yo, 7.5. So, I believe my overall thoughts are not specific to Pattaya. It's a different world out there...in terms of limited options, greater competition, more expectations, i am older now and the younger ones are not blind.

Well, I will be off again to adventure, explore and search anew, to see if I can find 1-2 more good ones in the next 10 days that I will be here this trip ...so I am hopeful and optimistic. I do have some back up numbers for 3 girls ( all 20's and 2 7 to 7.5) from Insomnia on this trip. But, I am still holding out for a long shot!

You might not like the negativity, but personally, I appreciate the reality check, to make sure I'm not slowly going insane and starting to consider 99% of the women ugly (no, apparently, it's just what's on offer in Pattaya).I'v been coming to Pattaya off and on for 8 years now and I really don't think it's changed all that much as far as the looks of the girls. With the exception of the top gogos, its' always a challenge to find a hot girl to my tastes. I am only attracted to about 1-5% of the girls I see at most venues. I am thinking of places like Ibar / Insomnia, Soi 6, and some of the lesser regarded gogos like Papagayo. The beer bars are a complete waste of time for me and I have rarely ever found someone I liked.

It vacillates for sure. Sometimes its a bit better and sometimes a bit worse. I find it easier to find attractive girls during my trips int the summer than in the winter. But I don't see some kind of general decline. In fact, the last two summers have been about the best I've seen. This winter (a few days after New Year) was one of the worst times. But I still managed to find 2 girls that really turned me on and I had great all night (and well into the next day) GFE sessions with them. Both had great attitudes and were fun to be with. My buddy that was with me did very well for himself as well (maybe even better that I did).

One thing that HAS changed is that prices have gone up dramatically. I remember BFing the top gogo girls form Supergirl and Superbaby (those places were the cream of the crop back then) for 2500 LT. An all nighter with a disco or WS FL set you back 1 K.

I know what a Pub is, and what a gogo bar is, so I have always guessed it must be the other bars with working girls.

Are beer bars always open air bars? Do they always have girls with special beer advertising shirts promoting beers (perhaps not)? I ask because I really don't know what is a beer bar for sure. Is it something that has never been actually defined?

Finally, what is the difference between a Beer Bar and a Beer Garden, if any? Something to do with being under a roof to not get rained on? Size of tables? Or being amongst the trees and pot plants?

Papagayo is a very fun bar. Friendly girls and more or less unscathed by the Japanese.

I consider a beer bar as an open air bar. This is where I could walk around Pattaya all night and not even find 1% of beer bar girls decent. The only exception may be the beer bars on Walking street in 2 areas, on the main strip on Walking Street with Frog Bar in the front and about 20 beer bars behind Frog bar that extend all the way to the water. Also a couple of very small beer bars between Windmill and 2nd Road have some gems. I also met a nice one in the tiny beer bars between Happy agogo and Walking Street.

Things then gets mixed up in expatriate locations as Thailand, helped by the similar sounding of the words.

Where any expatriate wants to start a business and has the unique idea to open a bar or a restaurant to feel home (and make other farang, who flew thousands of miles, feel home too).

Girls do open hair salons and farang do open bars.

They both share the same source of financing.

Their revenue is one of Thailand best kept secrets.

If something fails, there is always the option to open a diving center.

Interesting you say beer bar girls are crap. Bangkok does have some reasonable looking girls working daytime bars. I assume "beer bars" means bars with no gogo dancing and no Coyote dancing (no dancing at all)? With pool tables? Even after 25 years on and off in Thailand, I am not absolutely clear what a "beer bar" is. All bars have beer, and all bars have something else for non beer drinkers like me. I know what a Pub is, and what a gogo bar is, so I have always guessed it must be the other bars with working girls.

Are beer bars always open air bars? Do they always have girls with special beer advertising shirts promoting beers (perhaps not)? I ask because I really don't know what is a beer bar for sure. Is it something that has never been actually defined?

Finally, what is the difference between a Beer Bar and a Beer Garden, if any? Something to do with being under a roof to not get rained on? Size of tables? Or being amongst the trees and pot plants?In America, a reference to a beer bar generally means a small local indoor pub where it is far more likely to find patrons, mostly men, drinking their adult beverages from a bottle or mug instead of a cocktail or martini glass, probably with only a juke box or similar or entertainment.

After nearly 4 weeks here, decided it was time to get out of my comfort zone of Insomnia, Lucifer etc and having a GF type 1. 5 week GFE live in! So, as I mentioned earlier decided to explore and adventure.

- Hit Soi 7, 6, Diana, 13, LK Metro, Soi Buakhao etc. And many more sois. Lots of walking, scanning, walking in and out quickly. Finally, lucked out last night when I saw a really pretty face, maybe 20-21 ( had ID for VT 6 ) , new just 1 month from Ubon, in a booth bar (across from the beer bar complex opposite Central Festival) . Actually did not even think I could BF her. But I did, and believe it or not she was the only girl in this tiny, little booth of a bar and BF was only 300 (I think the Thai lady who owns this maybe her aunt or something) and the girl had almost no English. Very new, very quiet and inexperienced. 2000 LT which is what she wanted. Stayed with me from 12 pm to 7 am. In Britain and other countries, I always thought lucked out always meant "out of luck", which is fairly obvious. Wicktionary shows two meanings below which are unfortunately the opposite of each other.

I am not sure the term was used at all when I was young in my country, however it is clear that the meaning is internationally unclear.

I think if you get there before the supposed closure and renovation, you will see that at least three of the lighted signs on the outside of the one on Soi 7 says, "Beer Garden" or "Beer Garden Sukhumvit Soi 7". That would be the lighted overhead hanging sign you can just about see from Sukhumvit Road, the lighted stand-up sign at ground level next to the entrance and the lighted lettering on the outside wall of the building near the roof. Only the non lighted old world European style hand-painted lettering over the doorway has it as "Bier Garten". I think inside there is a sprinkling of signs spelling it both ways here and there.

Interesting though that, without the P4P girl association, the one on Soi 19 strikes me as much more of a restaurant than a drinking venue. But maybe a pub or tavern I suppose.

I am not from the USA. Somehow the meaning has been changed to the opposite. In Britain and other countries, I always thought lucked out always meant "out of luck", which is fairly obvious. Wicktionary shows two meanings below which are unfortunately the opposite of each other.

I am not sure the term was used at all when I was young in my country, however it is clear that the meaning is internationally unclear.

From Wicktionary:

Luck out ‎(third-person singular simple present lucks out, present participle lucking out, simple past and past participle lucked out).

1. (colloquial, idiomatic, US, Canada, Australia) To experience great luck; to be extremely fortunate or lucky. I lucked out and got the last two tickets to the big show.

2. (colloquial, idiomatic, Britain) To run out of luck. I lucked out and failed to get the tickets.

While in BK last week, I walked into the Crazy House in Soi Cowboy and was pleasantly surprised to not only see the 15 or dancers totally naked on stage but the ones walking around as well. Wow!

Last night I went into several bars on WS looking for the same and couldn't find it. The Peppermint had about a dozen girls on two stages and maybe three were topless. The Glass House had 10 dancers on stage and they were dressed in way that you knew nothing was coming off, ie: blouses over bras and shorts over stockings. Ugh!

So true! And it always seems to happen to me in Patts. Just when I am about to give up hope fortune smiles on me and sends me a Sweet and Pretty Young Thing to knock me out of the doldrums.Happened again, in a beer bar playing pool, noticed two cute early 20 girls. Checked into my favorite hotel dynasty inn on Soi 13. I cannot speak highly of it. Cheap, great service and most of the crew have been there for years.

Caught the scooter around 6 pm to Sabai and was shut. Guess I should read here more often. So I crossed the road to honey 2, about 40 ish girls there. Honestly mostly 4 and 5's. None caught my eyes. Is it really called "Papagayo"? If correct, it's amusing. I guess its a Latin American term. It looks like a mash up of "Papaya Go". I remember Papagei is the German word for Parrot.
Papagayo is Spanish for Parrot. There was a legendary brothel in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico which operated under that name for 50 years, and various other strip clubs, restaurants and such with the same name.

I see some gaps in there that could be potential opening. But both total gross revenues and absolute $ return will be be bupkas, but so will total $ invested as well. As low as $15 k ( with 1 yr prepaid rent) and maybe $25 k purely as an experiment for a multiple kiosk operation to experiment with intra mall locatioms and merchandise, with statistically valid retail experimentation. Don't worry. I'm about as close you can get to a human computer emotionally. This has zero to do with relationship or feelings of any kind. My feelings are always fleeting and transitory. Pure sociology experiment....

But, then I don't want to be tied down with some frickin business, cause I absolutely will not accept anything but some level of success. When I get into something like that I will be 100 pc intense and go into don't take any prisoners mode, from a business standpoint, even if just a sociology experiment. So that is the mental and rational barrier. Why complicate an easy, peaceful and calm lifestyle. No hurry, no worries. But always thinking.....and have been noodling this kind of experiment now also for another similar sociology expeiment in Lima, Peru.

My favorite story is about the girlfriend he had who he loaned 1000 baht to because she wanted to make sweets to sell in front of the grocery store. Don't remember exactly, but it was something like this. For the 1000 baht she was able to make 100 units, so they cost her 10 baht each. She sold all the sweets and came home with 300 baht for the day. To her, the business was a success.

Hello friends,

I hit up Pattaya twice a year and stay approx 10 days on each trip. I have always stayed in Eurasia Boutique next to Tukkom, since that was the place my buddy introduced me to 4 years ago but I am looking for a change. Over my last trip, my daily commute to Soi Bukhaow and Soi 6 prompted me find something in these areas rather than commute everyday. Its only $2 but ID rather stay closer to the action.

Any recommendations. Need a fairly large room if possible since I do spend quite a bit of time there with Wifi and AC / Hot water etc without any hindrances in visitors. Price range under 1000 baht a night? Soi Bukhaow? 3rd Road? Appreciate any help.

Just a reminder, I can't stand the small ST esque rooms which are quite common nowadays. Bed, wardrobe, TV and bathroom, a large space, safety box and Wifi would be nice. Theres so many options down these roads, I could spend a whole trip finding the best accommodation, then I decided to reach out to the community for help.

Eurasia is approx 1000 baht a night, quite a hike and wallet buster for its location but the room size with balcony is at least 45 sqm ++ / 480 sqft ++.

I have a buddy who lives a few towns over who can go and drop in a deposit if needed so online resv / credit card and general payment issues isn't a priority either.

Are you talking USD? $500 US to rent a kiosk in Central Festival? That seems a bit low to me for Central Festival.

$15-25 k US for multiple kiosks? Per year?I just made a call to their sales office and was told based on location and size they start at 15,000 baht per month. But I believe you have to pay 1 year upfront. The range I was given was 15,000 - 30000 baht per month. I don't have it in writing just verbal. You have submit an application and describe your merchandise intended for sale etc.

I don't believe ( based on my discussion with a couple of vendors that the kiosks do much in terms of revenues. Based on their daily sales I believe 15,000 baht a month is all it warrants. So, the number also jives from a revenue standpoint , imo. I don't believe a mom and pop single owner operator is clearing more than $10k usd per year !!! Lot of work and standing around 7 days a week for that. But for a Thai might make sense if they open 2 and have upfront capital of at least $15k usd (for rent and small inventory ) to deploy.

As you noted "many who have come before you have already done the experimenting " There are times and this is one of them people will listen but in the end they got to do what they got to do and that is they will move forward and learn themselves the answer because for many and I'm one of them that won't be able to say no when ask no matter how tough people talk on the Internet.

When it comes to business venture and I'm no Trump idea's that are pose in general by Thais especially those who now have a link to a foreigner think and I don't blame them want to implement the rumors and ideas they have heard from other workers. In our morning coffee club I've been hearing these venture for years and years rarely have I ever heard anyone of them work out. I've been asked by a number of Thai women with their lesser half ask me about their idea's and sadly the advice I give so often has made me a bit negative to my respond?

When you hear more of the details it usually is sold to them by a person who is one of the people who comes out with the commission the other is the person providing the space, Kiosk in this case, and the product to be sold. Sadly this is why you got property owners asking for non-refundable Key money to rent their property. After a few months the business fails but the property owner puts the sign back up and sit back until another big idea comes along.

I usually just say to them " have you approach a bank and pinch your idea, what is your business plan, what product are you selling and what is the profit margin " in the end I tell the backer " if the bank will lend them the money then you should foot the business otherwise count it up as another trip down the yellow brick row. It's pretty much like Thais coming to me to borrow money because I'm a walking ATM not a real person because they've seen baht being kick out with just a push of a button. They will tell you I will pay you back in 2 months, but if you think about it like a bank, no job no asset, how? It is because they think we have it to lose and won't miss it. To many girls who meet a foreigner they say I will pay you back but rarely does it happen.

Throw the western business thoughts out, revenues, etc. Out the door now none of that means anything. Been there done that math already. Whatever she is selling there is really no wholesale market margin. For example. For clothing unless you are a super large seller in Bangkok a small vendor buying T-shirt to sell at a market is making like 5 baht a shirt. Today and I hope I never hear one again how many Kiosk venture that have failed the one's that stick around are usually one's back like a franchise. Go to Central, and the other Malls, and you will see another Kiosk similar? Individually own and back failure rate is high.

The biggest pinch I've gotten and always remember is the 7/11 one. Lady from the neighborhood comes to talk with my wife because she knows I'm a foreigner about a 7/11. The pinch is if you own one the net profit is 100,000 baht a month. Sound great to a foreigner so what do you think it sounds like to a none educated Thai? I start to ask her more questions the more I ask the more she backs off (doing so they lose face) she gets the commission but knows nothing except what she is told. Do the research and one would find out that was the old old days the beginning. You be a fool to buy one today!

I read many times members talking about their times in insomnia and mention buying bottles of spirits like Grey Goose or whiskey can anyone tell me how much they cost and if they provide glasses to offer shots to any young potential partners I may meet there also if bottle not finish can you leave behind bar for next visit or they allow you to take back to your room. ? It has never been that if hookers see us with a bottle at our table they will be more apt to leave with us. Bottles of whatever usually go from 2000 to 3000 baht. In 808 they sometimes have a special of 3 bottles (Absolut, Chivas, Jack) for 3000 baht.

I will tell you this though. If you buy a bottle after having bought a single drink, you can tell how much the bottles they use for single drinks have been watered down. Yes, you can leave the bottle there for next time you are in the club or you can take it with you. I forget how long they will keep it for you.

Stayed in a guesthouse on Soi 6. Adequate for my budget and objectives.

Bought a front seat at spider bar by treating the mamasan to drinks and asking her to keep the dogs of my back.

Clear line of sight on Hero, Lisa, Ruby and Butterfly bar.

Then ordering drinks when you have a hot thing in your arms, dancing, smoking then paying for drinks. Giving more than that would make you look like a newbie in my opinion. And tipping the staff should not be automatic, it's good to tip the ones that are nice with you, but many of them are real a**holes and deserve nothing at all, especially in places like Insomnia or Mixx (Pattaya).

I have been in Thailand plenty of times in May to June and not found it to be all that hot. Odd rain showers help things to cool off. March April should be hotter.

I have no clues as to why girls would be getting ready to leave Pattaya in May, as Breadman put it. I would have thought girls more likely to be missing in April and perhaps early May due to "Summer" hot season holidays in another province starting with the Songkran festival. Schools are closed during this period, so mothers likely to spend time with their kids.

Perhaps girls and tourists try to avoid the peak of the wet season in Pattaya, much that is likely to be somewhere from August to October, I would have thought, assuming its similar to Bangkok.

I never let seasons of Thailand put a dampener on my fun, unless I am going to beautiful beach resorts. East side of Thailand like Samui and Koh Chang will be at peak sea water colour beauty from February to April, most likely. Sea can be a bit discoloured earlier. West side is different. Phuket is already beautiful in December and January. It's good know about winds of the seasons as well for going to beach resorts, however very little info is available on web sites about the right time of year to visit Islands and beach resorts. They pretend it is good all year round. I once went to Raelie Beach Krabi, long ago, when it rained nearly non stop. That was mistake of wrong timing. No point to go there in wet season.

Is Pattaya on a real downer in the wet season? Uncle Volodya suggests August is quite O.K. for girls.

I mostly visit LOS in March-April. It's hot and sunny, but I like it. Plenty of girls. A reasonable number of tourists - not too many. No problemos except I would advise avoiding LOS during Songkran for two reasons: its crazy time and a lot of girls do go home for the holiday. It is interesting to note that airfares to Macau, for example, rise significantly a couple days before Songkran and a couple of days after Songkran as everybody, the Thais included, try to get out of Dodge City before the holiday begins. The only good news is that hotel rates in BKK are very cheap during the festivities. I stayed at the Westin in a spacious deluxe room for $103/ night. The hotel is very nice and very close to the BTS, so I never got wet. 555.

Occasionally I get lucky and can indulge myself with a 2nd trip to Thailand and SE Asia in September-October. Yes, this is rainy season, but that does not mean it rains all the time. It usually rains hard for an hour or two every day, but then the sun comes out. The streets flood awful in BKK and Pattaya. I recommend bringing rubber galoshes (no seams) and an umbrella. 555! There are plenty of girls and they are always glad to make your acquaintance. What I like best is you can walk down Walking Street Pattaya at a normal pace because there are very few busloads of idiotic Asian tourists to get in your way. But when you drop into a popular Go Go its still rockin', so good times in Thailand during the wet season IMHO.

A couple of other points; Phuket and the major southern islands are still open for business and due to less tourists, there are real bargain rates available at the hotels. But on the smaller islands like Ko Chang for example, many hotels close down during rainy season so you might want to check on the local situation before your book anywhere besides BKK, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, or Phuket. In fact I would recommend skipping the beaches during the rainy season and stick with the mongering.

I also like to head over to Manila and down south to Jakarta during my annual and semiannual pilgrimages. Weather patterns are very different in these other destinations. In September-October for example, Manila is warm, sunny and windy. Typhoon season in in effect, but it rarely affects southern Luzon. Jakarta, on the otherhand, has basically the opposite weather seasons of BKK. In March-April Jakarta is cloudy and a little rainy. And you should avoid Jakarta during the month of Ramadan (May 26,2017 - June 25,2017) at all cost since most of the bars and bordellos are closed tight.

Yesterday my first time, first day in Pattaya and can I just say: I understand now completely why everyone goes mental about the Chinese (no sense of space, no sense of moving properly and not walking hard into you when you don't move) and the Russians (is Jomtien 'their space' where they stay? Not that the euro's and American's and other Asians have the only right to be in Pattaya but at least they have better sense of just 'fitting in' and enjoy themselves in a good manner.

Sitting around with each other.Yes, you've quickly figured out some of the place's lesser charms. If you wait around long enough, you may see the wives of a few of those very old gentlemen (perhaps three decades removed from their own gogo careers), will join the oldsters. The look may not be one of bliss, but I doubt they'd jump at the prospect of returning to their places of origin. And re the Chinese tourists, the children in tow thing is contemptibly goofy. I'm no expert in their particular psychology, but I suspect there is some belief among themselves that they are superior, and seeing Westerners grovel for the attention of hookers, and the "other" Asians so willing to sell themselves, confirms all that (nevermind that their own hoo-ahs are world class, though Putin would dispute whether they are on par with his). And many of those selfsame Chinese tourists are the bane of global tourism, with their horribly rude behavior (the Thais have many YouTube videos out showing their reckless behavior in the airport queues, etc.), the spitting, the skinflintiness, and the bringing of their rice cookers with them on tour.

Not that the euro's and American's and other Asians have the only right to be in Pattaya but at least they have better sense of just 'fitting in' and enjoy themselves in a good manner.

And why do Chinese parents see it as a fun activity to lead their 3-4-5-6-7 year old through Walking street? Even in Amsterdam parents wouldn't take their kids through until they are 13 or so.

Thailand has three seasons: Cooler season Nov to Feb, Hot dry season March to June, and wet season July to October.

I have no clues as to why girls would be getting ready to leave Pattaya in May, as Breadman put it. I would have thought girls more likely to be missing iIn April and perhaps early May due to "Summer" hot season holidays in another province starting with the Songkran festival. Schools are closed during this period, so mothers likely to spend time with their kids.

I never let seasons of Thailand put a dampener on my fun, unless I am going to beautiful beach resorts. East side of Thailand like Samui and Koh Chang will be at peak sea water colour beauty from February to April, most likely. Sea can be a bit discoloured earlier. West side is different. Phuket is already beautiful in December and January. It's good know about winds of the seasons as well for going to beach resorts, however very little info is available on web sites about the right time of year to visit Islands and beach resorts. They pretend it is good all year round. I once went to Raelie Beach Krabi, long ago, when it rained nearly non stop. That was mistake of wrong timing. No point to go there in wet season.Great summary. As you pointed out are you there for the girls or for the beach and how well do you handle hot weather. The wet weather is cooler and just makes it little messy for wearing long pants. With shorts you can just rinse off your legs. A rainy windy Krabi resort is ok based on the services available but is made up for by the lower prices.

This is my sixth day in Pattaya, never been in Thailand before.

A man who I met on the plane wanted to share a taxi to Pattaya and paid the fare for both of us. I had pre-ordered a taxi from pt taxi service.

I reserved a room from Sea me spring hotel for the first week. It is located at soi 10 which is quite peaceful location in my opinion and everything is nearby. Rooms are large and clean, there are safety box in the room and there is a pool on the roof which I like. I think it is a good hotel for a first timer like me.

About girls.

First girl I had in Kawaii bar at soi 6. 350 BF and 1000 st. Was a good experience even though we had to sex upstairs in the bar. I would had taken her to my hotel but she could not come for some reason.

I literally walked towards walking street when it all happened. They came in 20+ vehicles and scooters with lights on and then proceeded to line-up at the beginning of the street for some sort of speech or instructions. They seemed bit full of themselves and all smiling and filming each other. Then they proceeded to Star a gogo but they were done there within 3-4 minute and moved on to the next bar (I think it was a ladyboy bar, next door). Then they went towards the Windmill. I think we stood there for about 10-15 minutes. From what I could see girls were moved off the stage. Customers were still allowed to stay inside but most left but new ones were still allowed to enter. It was CSD (Police, Military with all sorts of badges and about 8 tourist police (who just tried to act all interesting and as if they were important, but more so just traffic directors.). From what I saw they were checking staff for weapons (and drugs?) and they were checking all their pockets and such. Can't tell what went on inside but I overheard one of the tourist police guys say it was all just a routine check. But then again he could just say that cause they couldn't disclose anything. They then left the windmill and they were just letting new customers enter and all. They then proceeded back towards walking street and up some stairs to another bar (sorry I don't know the names). I then left so can't give any more info. However I did walk by the windmill at 00:30 and doors were indeed closed. Other bars that they've checked were still open.

It is specifically for Herpes treatment but I have found it to be excellent for any soreness or chaffing. Small1 gr tube but just a little does the job.

One other suggestion is to make sure you buy comfortable condoms that fit you well.

I f you don't get off you will arrive back were you started. They go down Beach Road then turn left at Walking Street and go up Second Road until the end and turn left to start all over again.

UPDATE. It seems the bahtbus routes have changed end of last year, so my knowledge of their routes is probably wrong.

Both Silver Star Agogos raided as push for clean-up continues

At around 11:30pm on February 18th, Pattaya police made their way down to Soi 7 and Soi 8 as part of Pattayas clean-up and to follow up on several reports that sex shows were being performed in some of the venues.

The first point of call for the police was Silver Star agogo on Soi 8. On entering, police found there to be several dancers on stage with outfits not leaving much to the imagination. They also found 2 girls in a bathtub with nothing on, entertaining the many tourists in the venue. The place was quickly shut down, with customers being asked to pay the bills and leave.

Police then made their way onto Soi 7, where Silver Star has their sister agogo. On entering the sister venue, police found no dancers or girls in the bathtub, however they did find different toys that could potentially be used to entertain guests in a sexual manner. Police found enough evidence to shut the place down too and put the reason for no dancers down to there being a tip off that they were on the way.

Police took statements from several staff members from the two venues before calling the owner down for questioning. The raids come as the authorities continue their push to clean up Pattayas seedy image, which has become world famous.

Does Thailand truly believe this is helping tourism? Excluding the Thai girls, it's like 80% men in the Pattaya tourist area (main baht bus route) and pretty sure they're not there to look at temples or sunbathe on the beach.

I was curious about Kinneree Place after the recent posts. I went for the Sunday Roast and to check it out. If you have not been to it, I thought it was a little hard to find. The map on their website is useless as it is a Google map of the world and location is not marked. However if you simply search on the name google will show you the overview with a link to their web and a map with the location marked. When I got off of the baht bus at Soi Pra Tamnak on the way to Jomtien I was hoping to see a motorbike taxi and continue that way. Pra Tamnak is a busy soi and I went the general direction that the map showed. Finally I did get a motorbike taxi to take me the rest of the way. I ended up arriving at just about 3:30 which was 30 minutes after the food is placed on the serving tables and 3 hours after they open. The place was packed. I did get seated at a table across from 4 men who were all smoking. Not my thing and the only negative point of the trip. It took a few minutes to adjust to the low level lighting. It is a big place and I bet there were 50 or more customers in there. My guess is there were about 20 women who are available. I can't say that I got a good look at all of them but for sure 2 of them looked very good. Surprisingly good if all pricing is the same. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that good looking for short time for 1000 baht. The food was plentiful with good variety and very good. I spent 1,450 baht for the meal, 4 drinks for myself and 2 for a lady. So they provide the food for free and the bill was 1000 baht. Another 1000 to the lady. She was pretty ordinary and service felt a little rushed but not terribly. I plan to repeat, just not with her.

On my previous visits to Pattaya I have visited all areas from Soi 6 to walking street and Soi L K Metro and last time tried Kinaree in Jomtien had a good time there found some nice sexy ladies and had great experience in room. Tried to find Winchester Club but it was closed when I tried to visit does anyone know if they are back in business? I plan to visit again in May.

Winchester has been opening and closing for years now. I believe it has been closed down for good for quite some time. If you want something similar try Kinnaree on Pratumnak Hill or Kit Cat in Jomtien. For something closer but not nearly as good there is M Club near 3rd Road, not far from the Soi Full Love Inn bars.

On Pattaya-Naklua Road same as all the other bars, just further up the road. As for the Naklua bars, they are atypical outdoor beer bars with mainly older workers and a few ladyboys. The odd gem can be found on occasion but really not worth the effort unless you are nearby for some reason or want to stray away from the norm.

One of my favorite Pattaya bars is on this road, Kiss Pub, which is primarily a Thai bar. Their sister club, Kiss Chill, on 3rd Road near Soi Lengkee seems to have closed down though. There are other bars in this chain which have many many young hot Thai girls but keep in mind these are Thai bars where most girls barely speak English and you rarely see a Farang.
