Thanks for the response LOL. I may be going to Rio for a few weeks. I've went back 30 pages now and found some great info. I think I would avoid VM based on some of the comments here.

Any suggestions for nearby brothels or outcall services, or massage parlors near Copacabana? Looking for BBFSCIP primarily, and possibly keeping a good provider around for a week or so (overnights).

Considering JW Marriott but it seems there are better choices at the beach.If your device doesn't say 120-240, it won't work in Brazil unless your hotel room offers double voltage outlets, and JW actually might (ask them). If not, you'll need a converter (not just an adaptor), and there is more than just voltage that needs to be checked. You might need to contact the manufacturer.

JW is a posh, girl-friendly hotel, and it wasn't too expensive last time I checked. Rooms are very small, but that's to be expected.

Can anyone tell me if I still need a covid test to enter Brazil. I thought I did but on United's web site it says it's not needed but also talks about what Covid test are accepted so I'm confused. Anyone else going to be In Rio Oct / Nov? Himbadman nice enough to to meet up and show me the ropes my first day.When I visited Brazil in May, PCR negative test result was checked both at airport in origin country and at Brazil immigration. Only airport in origin country checked during my recent trip in September. I remember reading a report in Brazil forum by someone that his COVID docs were not checked at both ends. It is possible authorities are choosing not to enforce these requirements or they are selectively enforcing them. Either way, I would have COVID tests results in hand rather than hoping airline or immigration wouldn't check.

Just arrived Tues. The 6th. American Airlines required the PCR results prior ton boarding. Had to show cover sheet and complete report stating name and date of test as well as + or. Asked the lady attendant if you don't have test results or negative report they will not let you board. American Airlines posts the sites where you may take your test. Remember it has to be within a 72 hour window that's including the day of the test. They also asked to see the result in Rio s well as the Brazilian Health report. It's a beautiful thing. Besides the plugs for the different countries / regions, it has several USB ports, and I can use it to charge my devices too. Just love it, and it's one of the very best travel items I ever purchased. Now, the only country where I have not been able to use it is in Argentina where they have this funky kind of outlet not found anywhere else that I know of. I thought it was the same as Australia's, but the Australia plug on my "cube" didn't work. But no problem! I also travel with an adapter I bought specifically made for Argentina. So it's all good!

The only thing I would add is that getting a hotel room for the Centro swing events might be better than two uber rides (I actually use indriver, so 42 r each way. A room at the hotel Atlantico tower or hotel Atlantico prime (which I haven't stayed in yet) usually runs 100 or less). That also gives a place to fuck. Hotel is very friendly to guests.

The requirements have changed for the better, they now accept antigen test taken within last 24 hours boarding first flight.

If you need a Good, affordable hotel for a night or two when you first arrive to to hotel atlântico tower, rua Visconde de inhuama 95. It is 400 meters from 4 x4. Cost is like 100 reais a night. Then go in person to Av Gastão Sengés 395 and rent a room for a month, ask for Rafael. But you can go at 9 am and always find landlords who are renting monthly. In the same trip you could also go to Barrabella and ask to visit rooms. As I said, the barrabella may be one of the new Hoartels in Barra.

The relative merits of P1 v P6 are that P1 is right on the metro so you can walk there and take the Metro. P6 is more removed, and according to some locals, the best part of Barra in all aspects (which I agree with). P1 is also where the excellent terma Perola Negra is located, along with the excellent socializing area Olegario Maciel.

I agree it's better to stay in Centro however the quality of those hotels had a lot of negative reviews. Can't be beat for the price though.

This is a fair review, both good and bad.

Went to 116 today. For anyone wondering, it's is located up the stairs. Very sketchy walk as it is sealed and dark, and sometimes wet. It's considered a budget hotel. Cost was around $30 usd per night which is unreal. WIFI was off and on in the corner rooms but closer to elevators and lobby it was good. Very stripped down simple room nothing fancy but it was clean and good showers. At night you can hear the street dogs fighting I'm sure other sides of the hotel might be quieter. The neighborhood is safe during the day but can get sketchy at night when businesses start to close down. Close to bike Itaú station. 10 min walk away from metro and prives on Ave Rio Branco 185. Guest friendly.

Zaga Bike on Rua Miguel Lemos 51 (well hidden) repairs and also rent bikes. Very competent staff used to handle imported quality bikes. They might have contacts for used quality bikes.

The problem is that there are no quality bikes made in Brazil. Mostly Caloi bikes which are bad quality. Quality bikes are all imported and very expensive.

Having a bike in Rio is fantastic. Not only for exercise but also for exploring the city. I've explored many bairros in Rio which I never would have visited if I didn't have a bike. You just have to be careful when riding on busy streets.

There are good cycle paths all the way from Santos Dumont to Grumari (last part without cycle paths but with hilly roads with little traffic).

I brought a bike from home, as extra luggage. When I'm not in Rio I have the bike stored in a friends house.

Friday, MichaelSamuel and Vasco linked up in the afternoon on a food tour. We met up in a great little outdoor area in a kind of urban concert house created by the geography which was between centro and Rodoviaria Novo Rio 3 blocks west of the VLT line out to Rodoviaria. The tour guide is a good guy who I have designated Callsign Sting on our Whatsapp group (PM me, and I will add you).

But a disagreement with the owners led the Swiss-directed medical and other staff to leave, taking most of the nursing residents with them to a new facility, to be known as "VivoCare".

The number of dementia tourists in Thailand may be 150, mainly Americans, Britons, Germans and Italians. (Other countries such as Costa Rica, Mexico and the Philippines also have care homes for expatriates.) Mr Woodtli criticises some for merely adapting a failed model of large-scale care centres from the rich world. I think you've missed my point. No, I didn't miss your point at all. It's just that the way you made it could be misleading to the uninitiated. Long time lurker, and here's my first report. It's such a gloomy day in Copacabana, raining & the beach is empty. After finish a tour, I visit termas Monte Carlo this evening. It's on the more expensive side, but tourist friendly. The receptionist, and the door guys, speak good English. While it has the same setting at FKK, this place is tiny. Tijuana absolutely sucks compared to Rio.

I've done 500+ hoars in both.

Mexicans are the poor man's Brazilians.

On my last trip to 4 x4, the tab included one drink that I did not order. Only reason I caught it is because it wasn't what I was drinking or ordering for the girls. I was drinking beer and the girls were drinking gin tropical. I think this was a margarita or pina colada. Talked to the receptionist up front and it was taken care of ASAP. The overcharge occurred on the only time I ordered drinks, so my sample size is small. It's not so much the money, obviously, but establishing respect. Getting overcharged $63 reais is a symptom of a bigger problem, getting overcharged for bad sex at 4 x 4.

I've been out with some wingmen who shall remain anonymous who get overcharged because they don't follow the advice I've given. As long as we are discussing acknowledgements, it would be helpful to know when the last time a contributor was in in Rio and when he will come again. At least not until things looked more like normal. Yes, yes that little pandemic known as COVID-19 that slowed the world down for a couple of years! Let us acknowledge that shall we, and the real impact it has had on the ability / willingness to travel abroad. Believe it or not, but some guys think that some things (like their health), are more important than traveling abroad to go bareback with a prostitute.
