**Taking a Termas Girl home or catch, tag and release?
If you are a frequent visitor to Rio and know a few ladies at each T, if you have any kind of game it is actually very easy to have them come over for free, but there is a cost. In fact they hound you to take them to your hotel for freebies. They of course are hoping you fall in love and marry them, take them to the "promised land" where the roads are paved with gold and everyone earns USD $100 k + year. (the reality is a normal uneducated Brazilian woman will struggle outside her country to earn the minimum wage in a normal job).
The cost: I have seen many a fellow monger take a Termas girl back to the hotel and then, for various reasons not want to see them again, usually because they want a different girl etc each night. Your average Brazilian girl does not take rejection well. She will usually call 100 times over the next few days. May stake out the entrance to your apartment and generally stalk you. This is very, very common in Rio. Sometimes it is better not to have them over to your place catch, tag and release is the way to go. I can count on 2 hands the number of Termas girls I have had meet me at my place, and that is in like nearly 10 years!

One thing I found surprising on my first few visits to Brazil was the incredible amount of jealously displayed between couples. It is expected from each partner. Normally a Brazilian male or female will not let his or her partner out of the house alone for social occasions. Coming from a relatively calm western background I found this absurd. However within Brazilian culture if you do not display extreme jealousy and I do mean all consuming ridiculous jealously to your partner, it means you do not love them. I have also found out, after spending a lot of time in Rio over the last 7 years, that the jealousy is well founded. Pretty much every Brazilian will cheat on their partner if left alone. 90% of Brazilian girls that have gringo boyfriends will eventually cheat on them if you are not with them 100% of the time. I have had this happen to me and every one of my friends in Rio. Even with some girls that you would think would never cheat on their boyfriends eventually do so. If I had a dollar for every time I heard "I would never have thought she would see another guy" I would be a very rich man.
I think the reason goes like this. If my partner does not have extreme jealously for me, they do not love me. Hence if they leave me a lone for 1 second, they do not love me, hence I can cheat on them because they do not love me. Not logical by western standards but perfectly logical under Brazilian culture. Divorce rates are very high in Brazil, the number one reason, everybody is fucking everybody else.

That's the bottom 5% of society. No family from the rich world would want that for their daughter. No rich world long term boy friend would really want that for his real long term girlfriend. A rich world guy might want that for a mistress who he schedules like a dog / cleaner / servant for 2 or 3 days a week. So, you go into a prive or a terma and you meet a girl, and you know as bubba boy says, that there can really be no future -- less than two hands worth of fingers in his 7 years on the ground. But these passissistas they are just normal girls, maybe some go into hoaring, but most are probably just check out girls, secretaries, whatever. A maid in my barra building makes 1700 reais a month, the receptionist makes 4000 reais a month. Those are high wages for Brazil because barra is rich. My 3200 a month for a one room efficiency studio (with a bad ass view and great location, and pool) is high for rio. So, these girls will come around and I completely agree with chocolatehuntr that this is one of the best if not the best way to prospect. I have become so burned out and down on the normal terma thing. Ok, yes, if you are in town for 2 weeks, go hunt big game at the zoo, bring your 30.06, you are a stud. It's about funk music but explores the relationships a typical brazilian has. Granted it focus more on the favelas but the spirit of the average brazilian falls somewhat around these parts. Sex is just a sport than anything else in Brazil. Granted there are many faithful brazilians tho so should not be a blanket statement. Even in the US cheating and unfaithfulness is prevalent it's just that the brazilians are very straightforward about such things. The US has tons of broken towns and trailer park communities that do the same thing that rival favela brazilians so it's not really just a cultural thing. It's a really sad mindset but a person's financial background does play a role. The more I learn about Brazil, the more I see the similarities with the US. Brazil just doesn't have the illusion of a puritan background and is unbashful unlike the US and we get so shocked to see such brazen acts.

The other view is so called top terma girls have the mindset that their terma pricing of 500 an hour is the price you should be paying all the time, and if they give you pernoite for 500 you are somehow getting a big bargain, even when it is multiple times a week.
The top terma girls are super insecure because they have this view that they should and could be earning 1500 a night, but in fact, their brains are going to be so fucked in a year or two, that most won't stay with it, and those that do will be bipolar freaks that you don't want to be deeply involved with for 90 days. Maybe a week or two. But that shit gets old with her constantly asking for more more more, and OMFG, the family. I mean, holy shit. Belladonna comes from her mother's house in the days after Christmas so fucking drunk that she pukes all night in my bed and I am taking her puke to the shower, and then we don't even fuck, that night, but fuck the next day.
We did spend days on end together, and I only paid for love motels. So I miss it, I miss her, but maybe she will end up in the rotation, maybe I will find better ones.

Maybe a dumb question. I'm going to rio next month. I see a lot of posts about Vila Mimosa or vm but Google maps doesn't show it. Google itself doesn't either. Is it a place or an area? Can I find it on Google maps?
If things go well I will be in rio for the beginning of carnival and leaving at the end with my SP Girl, Harley.

Assume you test positive before you take your outbound flight back home, then you have to wait to travel until you get well. However, it seems like you can test positive for several months. How do you solve that? Do you need to get a medical certificate that shows that you have recovered and are OK to travel?
I tested negative last Monday in Rio, on the same day I traveled back home. On Friday I tested positive (totally asymptomatic). It made me wonder if I would have got stuck in Rio if I had tested positive earlier?

Yeah, I get that too. I was taking her to fancy places, expensive parts of the beach and it is all over her social media in contrast to the super poor areas she is from.
But as Bubba boy says, the release part is key. You don't want to really be in this position of being the one to pay for her whole poor family to eat and then get obviously manipulated. These people are really kind of terrible people, by which I mean her mother especially. There was no perfect way to cut it off, but cut it off I did, and am better for it. I had belladonna for two months. She stopped working. I was happy, but there was no end in sight to the expectations of me paying which I could do. I mean, she expected a laptop for Christmas which I never got her but she kept asking for even to the point I told her it was arriving this week, which she will never get now, on top of paying $2000 reais for Christmas gifts and food for like a family of 8, which was fun, and it's only $400 USD and I am making $100 k annually remotely from a stateside salary so it is nothing, but it was clear that it was always going to be more, like $30 k reais for a car, etc, etc. While she expects to go back to working with other guys or living in her own apartment with a another Brazilian guy who says he is gay, and may well be, but still, No Fucking Way am I just going to be the fool in the room even though I know I am the fool in the room and I was aware of being the fool in the room because I was hanging out with her.

As an example this is the requirement for the Netherlands.
Its a numbers game like anything.
I am on my 3 d or 4th samba school. Only on my 2nd did I start asking for numbers. Now I get some responses. The girls obviously go into the skin biz. One of the girls at TDM 33/2106 is a former passissista that Chocolatehuntr knew from before, as he has been doing this samba game for 5+ years. Without a doubt, the best girls are passissistas, and going to the events is fun for its own sake. Its like a high school or college football game with just the cheerleading.
And you can always go get a pro in Rio.As you said Senhor Vagabundo, "But a samba school is not a terma or place of prostitution. That is the key." And you Senhor Vagabundo also have language and cultural skills that many here do not.
It's not so easy to pick up girls at samba school practices (parties). If you have some basic Portuguese from a couple weeks of Pimsleur, these girls aren't like termas girls who are paid to listen to your bad Porto and find you interesting. As in any non-pro environment, youth, looks and game all go a long way to the cause. Standard wingman strategy is also in play. Two guys approach two girls kind of thinking. Two guys approach eight girls more problematic.
These girls are there with their friends to have fun. Many times, they have family there. Many girls who might be open elsewhere will be guarded if a foreigner makes an approach.
Best bet for "tourists" who know a bit of Portuguese is to go have fun and go with the flow. If you look like you are there primarily to hire girls, you might be asked to leave. I remember the member here who got thrown out of the Rio mall because he thought he could just approach girls en masse and ask them to go out with him.
Mangueira and Salgueiro have good practices / parties. They can go on very late into the night. Don't waste your money having a hotel concierge or tourist agency book you a guide and tickets. The guide basically picks you up, buys your tickets, guides you into the building and tells you to meet him at a certain point at a certain time to leave. Hire an Uber and know exactly where to be dropped off. While the samba schools are in rough neighborhoods, for practice nights there will be crowds and a line of vendors selling all sorts of stuff outside the samba school building. It's also been said the drug lords finance the samba schools. They keep a lid on the local hoodlums. They aren't interested in anything happening to tourists who show up for the samba school. The inside of a samba school practice itself is a very safe environment. The people could not be nicer.

CDC doesn't recommend testing for virus after the recovery because the virus' remnants can linger for weeks and even months. Instead, it recommends getting a letter from a doctor who can give you greenlight to travel home.
If you have had a positive viral test on a sample taken during the past 90 days, and you have met the criteria to end isolation, you may travel instead with your positive viral test results and a signed letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official that states you have been cleared for travel. Here is the full guideline. You can travel on day 6 but recommended to wait until after 10 days. You will need a letter From a healthcare professional stating that your isolation period ended or you are safe to travel.

They had a full house 11 pm watching Rams beat down Cards. Talent was a mess. Looked like the LA CA stroll. Pure sausage fest. Quality was way down from 2 years ago. On Obs #1: I totally concur. We each of us have our own tastes & preferences as to girls, venues, and what we are willing to pay. In addition each us possesses varying skill levels, language abilities, and risk tolerances. There is no one way to punt that will satisfy all.
On Obs #2: There is overlapping quality levels among different venues. I am sure that the VM girl you describe above would fit right in at Solarium looks wise. But overall I personally prefer going to Solarium more often than going to VM for many reasons including the higher percentage of girls to my liking at Solarium resulting in an easier process of finding what I want although I will still occasionally visit VM for a change in scenery if for nothing else. Not much to add, except this.
The best girls I have met in my experience, which is getting longer (I wish I could go back to my first trip to Brazil) have been at Mosaico (and the now defunct Club Red Light).
This was in 2013.
Mosaico is where tier 1 terma girls go after they get done in Zona Sul, and the clients are mainly locals and so the pricing is much, much better. Even if you don't like VM, Mosaico is a must do. The DJ at 4 x 4 goes to Mosaico after he gets done at 4 x 4. Enough said.

Wondering if anyone would give me some feedback on Rio. I was in Cartagena, Colombia last summer and had a great time, wondering if I should hit it again or try Rio. If you've been to both, that's a plus.

The best thing to do is to go during the day after a good recce of the area.
Assuming you are in Copa or somewhere on a metro line, you take the metro to Sao Cristavao. You can then walk to VM and to Mosaico. Look up Mosaico. It depends on where you go, sometimes Uber's wait time can be long, metro doesn't necessary takes longer when you factor into wait time.
I also like to walk around and checkout random local stuff and metro will enable me to do that. If I always take Uber, I would not find out many street food places that I found by walking and take public transportation. When someone writes about how to take public transportation on a route. I will try it if I get a chance to experience it. I usually stay at a place longer than a few weeks so I am not in a rush as well.

Public transportation.
Vagabundo is not interested in winning any popularity contests. Most mongers will roll out of their av Atlántico hotel, get an uber to 4 x 4, and feel like they are going into combat if they go further than 50 feet from the entrance of the terma in going back.
In the "report of distinction" write up of choco Hunter to VM which I did with Chege and CH, we were at Uruguiana metro. We took the metro to VM by taking the metro from Uruguiana to Sao Cristovao. As I said, this recommends itself because you see alot of SW on the walk from the metro to VM (aim for Mosaico as a search). This also recommends itself because that is how the girl you are fucking will get to Mosaico or VM. She will ride the metro. From Pavuna or another zona norte stop. Or from Supervia from some place way the fuck out there like Campo Grande, to Central, and from Central, in the metro to Sao Cristovao. Or she will take the 457 bus from Norte Shopping to: a) VM (praca bandeira, which historically means slaver's square, updated for the present to mean economic slavery), b) if she is hot enough to copa, as the 457 goes from av nossa copa to norte shopping, via VM.
Lots of praise has been given, rightly, to CH, who. Rides public transportation (and I, right beside him). Several times to sao cristovao station.

Casablanca - Is located a block away from Dolca Vita Night Club, on Rua Duvivier, at the T-intersection where Don Juan Strip Club (if you were around) used to be. This place has changed names over the years, so you may remember it under a different name/management.
Some describe it like an American night club. Expect to see girls from many of the Clubs that the girls work at, in the Prada Junior area, (ie. Mabs, Boate Kalabria, Angel's Bar/Prof.Bar, Franks Bar/Black Cat/Club Senso, ex-Balcony, ex-Barbarella, ex-Cicciolina and the SW in the Prada Jr. area).
I used it as a last resort, to pull GDPs at 2-4 am, if I was in the mood and I found something of interest.
Some BM, from older reports see Casablanca as a clip-joint. However newer recent reports from some BM, say they had a great time and a good selection of girls. YMMV as did mine.

It is more educated than "do you want" "yes I want. Small things like this are nice but not critical. I think Brasileiros understand foreigners and we do not expect you to be exactly like us. As you can see many English words are now being used in Brasil, like "feedback" and "black Friday". We do not like arrogant people or rude people. But I think everyone dislikes those people.

As to Barra it's been popularized by Vagabundo, who actually lives in Rio. New tourists shouldn't stay in Barra, IMHO, and that's what the consensus here is. But for those who stay in Rio long-term, it actually makes sense (cheaper and safer). After you've seen most things Rio has to offer, why not stay in Barra, really?

There is no reason to avoid public transportation in Rio except one: wasting your valuable vacation time in traffic. Which is the reason I won't hesitate to take Metro, but I try to avoid buses. When I need ground transportation I call Uber or flag a cab. Saving a few reals is not a priority when you're on a short vacation.

After 6 trips to the BR, I decided this trip would be a great opportunity to stay and adventure in a part of the city where I normally don't stay. In centro. Copa's user-friendly attractions are a great place to start if you're new to the city but after a handful of trips I wanted to experience a new setting. But in a situation like a restaurant or meal we say "estou satisfeito", I am satisfied, instead of "I do not want any more" or "I am full". Also, when I ask a woman if she will like a drink, I say "aceitaria uma bebida" , would you accept a drink. And in response she can say "Aceito", "accept. It is more educated than "do you want" "yes I want. Small things like this are nice but not critical. I think Brasileiros understand foreigners and we do not expect you to be exactly like us. I consider it a form of flattery -- imitation is the highest flattery -- that my gear list attracts attention even from the apparent local (with 3 posts).
That said, as long as we are on the subject, let me add:

Are you saying you take Tier 1 Terma girls out of their Termas at night during their work shift and the Terma does not charge you an EWR (early work release, call it what you will) for the take out on top of whatever you and the girl have agreed upon for a romp some place else?

That said, I would point out 3 very good reasons to use public transportation.

2. Okay, I get it now! The "work tax free" question that Mimic86 asked, was referring to your bulletin point #2.
I assumed (perhaps wrongly so), that the point of this visa, was to win-over, recruit and more importantly KEEP "butts in Brazil" or foreign nationalist with "boots-on-the-ground" (for lack of a better term), spending tons of money in their local economies. Spending for their domestic living arrangements and ONLY pay local taxes (if any), related to things like housing, and transportation. Basically take advantage and benefit from this worldwide "nomadic" virtual workplace trend. But perhaps NOT!
I did read on some more and in the "Background" section, under "Remote work visa warning", it warns that tax law implications may exit but states, "In countries where remote work is unregulated...". Again I assume the purpose of this Nomad Visa is to regulate such work activities in Brazil.
Anyway, what can say, is that it's early days (visa began on Jan 24th, 2022) and will watch for clarification, in the days to come.
