I visited the former Nova massagem now Casa 18 last week. I was there early as per tips from this forum. I must have been the first client of the day. Lots of confusion since I don't understand portuguese and the mamasan didn't understand english. But she kept asking for which girl I wanted. But since I hadn't been introduced to any I couldn't give her an answer.
After a few minutes she realized I hadn't looked in their website so she send them in to my room one by one. But no-one came in. Then the old maasam came back so I could still not make my descision. She finally realized that she send the girls to the wrong room (by now there was another customer there) There were around 10 girls to choose from. I always kind of make my descison based on how hard their handshake is along with first impression og looks / attitude. So I choose Juliana. So after 10 minutes a girl comes in. But NOT the one I choose. (I guess the other client choose the same girl as me and I was the unlucky one). Anyway I choose to bang this girl, which actually had the worst handshake of all the girls. Turned out she was pretty good. 90 R for 1 hour. Like reported before facilities here are very good. The action was as well. What I would rate 8/10. Best place I visited for low-budget action. I'm still a Therma 4x4 guys. I never had a bad experience here. Toplevel girls and their workrate likewise.

In any event, it is silly to worry about negative exposure from the termas, since, if the World Cup is an indicator, large amounts of men won't descend on them. Brothel-going is generally a solitary, not a communal activity and requires disappearing from the group for an hour or more. Your (uninformed) travel group almost certainly will Ask questions if you disappear for long periods of time, so that's why (according to the author) you didn't see a corresponding spike in attendance and business at the FKKs.

I visited there twice when I was on a tour of Germany and the Baltic states, and also had time to monger in Lithuania and Estonia. Most tours offer considerable free time, and that is when to go, or you can even skip some of the more boring tour actvities, which I usually do anyway. And I disappear for many hours or half a day, not just for one hour. Sure, somebody might ask what you did, and I tell them I went to a jazz club or an opera or some other bullshit story. Believe me, that is a non-problem.
For isntance, FKK in Germany are fully legal, clinicas in Brazil are tolerated, as long as they behave. Brothels are legal in Gemany, rated as 'hotellerie', Can we say the same of Brazil?I thought brothels, i.e., Termas, were legal in Brazil. Am I mistaken? Not so sure about the prives.
There are still girls in front of Rio Othon but not like it used to be. If you are not sure if a girl is working, you can ask one of the beach guys. He can also introduce you. You will, in some way, pay for this if you take the girl. Tip for him or the girl will charge you more and kick it back.

That is also probbaly why when you go to a clinica you pay for the room and the mere massage, a nd anyting else (specials) are cash to the girl.
I used to pay all services to the clinica in SP long time ago, then, since some 6-7 years it all changed. Probably to avoid troubles with LE.

Ok, so it is that time of the year ago. Prices keep going up, addresses change and some places simply fade away. So in January I believe an update is due!

Yes, I agree, I could care less when it happens when I'm not there, but if I'm there and chances are I will be in the middle of banging a favorite, to have authorities just interrupt my good time in the name of harrassment, it is inconceivably wrong and abusive. Brazil doesn't have a truly functioning legal system. It is very inefficient and corrupt. The rule of law is never truly followed, it depends as much on politics as to who is right and wrong. So, the Termas operate in a gray area, they are not perfectly legal, a politician can get them shut down if he or she wishes. So in order for them to stay open, they pay certain high ranking people in the Police and Government a monthly payment to make sure no one interferes. When there are struggles within the Police or Government over who gets the bribe, a Terma can get shut down, when the power struggle is resolved, they reopen the Terma and the winner of the power struggle gets to receive the monthly bribe.
This kind of situation occurs in everyday life. Whether you are right or wrong doesn't really matter in a Brazilian court, it is more a fact of who you are up against and how much influence they have, as to who will get the outcome they desire.

Unfortunately most of the time when it is clear it is forbidden like in Sweden and in Norway, where they also fine the clients. In Norway they can even take to Justice a person who had sex for money in any other country!
In France prostitution is legal and pimping is not, same as Brazil. BUT you WILL be in very deep trouble if you help paid sex by any mean. When the law is ambivalent, the government can choose the way it uses it. It may vary from time to time to more or to less restrictions, but the long term tendency is to more restrictions. In France, with the same law as in Brazil, there are no termas, no FKK, no privês, only internet on a very low scale, some street girls and some BMCs (vans along roads, referring to the Army's Bordel Mobile de Campagne a long time ago) , that the government tolerates. For how long?
The comparison with France shows another point : up to 1980-1985, the young prostitutes on Saint Denis Street in the center of Paris were French. why not change the law? when a law is introduced for amendment, the law is open to the entire house of representatives to make additional amendments. special interests tinker with the language to suit their personal political beliefs. representatives who are uninterested don't even read what is proposed. while a deficiency may be fixed in the law, unwanted constraints could also be inserted into the amended law. extreme-right legislators like jair bolsonaro would find this a perfect opportunity to further their agendas. for example bolsonaro, this year proposed a law prohibiting brasilian women from appearing nude in magazines and on the internet. today you may be inconvenienced if an establishment is raided for municipal business violations. however, if the law is changed too far, the business could become an illegal establishment and be forced to close.

When an employer dictates conditions of your employment, how much you will be paid and when, you are an employee not an independent contractor. ThanksI have only been to Brasil 3 times so this is a bit of a newbies perspective. People that hobby in Sampa love it. You can get laid for $ or for $$$$. Also, the Paulistas generally tend to have a little lighter skin (seems like there are more girls available with lighter skin). However for me, Sampa is intimidating as all hell. It is just so huge. Rio, on the other hand, features the termas which is party central and with Christo Redentor visible from everywhere and the shoreline you always have a reference point and you are therefore less likely to become lost. They also cator to sex tourists in Rio. This is my opinion.

So there's another data point, though who really knowsAll reports that I read on this subject had to do with 4x4. I didn't see anything about Monte Carlo. Report I saw on a few sites said that at 4x4, they would be required to start wearing street style clothes and cannot wear bikini type wear. People are speculating that once it starts there, it will slowly trickle down to other termas, but that's just speculation. I just want to know if it's true at my favorite club: the mecca of phat asses: 4x4. If so, that's highly disappointing. As someone else mentioned, clothing hides plenty of flaws and a huge draw to 4x4 was sitting in the boite sipping a beer and checking out all the damn near naked bodies. It's heaven!

I was at 4x4 last night and can confirm that all girls were fully clothed. The clothes can hide a lot as I saw one girl that had midriff rolls when wearing a bikini but nothing when wearing a dress. Need to be more vigilant as it is now similar to B bar where you have to make a lot of assumptions.

Those of us that been to Costa Rica and hung around the Del Rey? Don't we like the way some of those Colombians be dresses? Kid CiscoDude it sucks. We are in robes and they are should be half-naked. It's what made the termas unique. Similar to FKK, but not as extreme. Now it feels weird to be in a robe while a girl is in her cocktail dress or whatever evening wear she chooses to have on. Also, as others may have pointed out, you can't hide any flaws when wearing bikinis like you can with clothes!

I'm a little hesitant to believe this story regarding 4x4 or any of the other termas. I mean that's a pretty big change and we've seen very little if any reports from anyone who has actually gone in there and confirmed this story. i am one of those peopel who pays more then he should for two reasons :
-i don't go to rio often enough (may be once / year) to get familiar with the lingo and the street. so have to stick with 'safe" places and pay a premium for the perceived security.
-as a rule (with some exceptions) , cheaper the place, more customers a gdp goes through in a day / shift. so the gdps at termas likely have fewer johns per day, and places such as helpeee and balcony (uggghhh) may be just 1 monger per day or two. same for many upper end bars / clubs in europe, me, asia. people will spend money so that they can feel a sense of exclusivity. its just like a good hotel room, upgraded flight and a nice car. its neitehr wrong or right.

Be prepared for crazy prices on hotels and apartments. The closer you get to the carnaval the better price you'll get when negotiating. On the streets in Barra many people will offer apartments. The price should be in the range R$1200-2500, depending on the size of the apartment.
Stay in a hotel the first night and look around calmly for a good lodging option. Backpack or suitcase doesn't matter.
Forget about renting a car during the carnaval.

Maybe it's me but it seem like the Prives have got lots of press these days (and more guys are reporting on them). Getting the best out of Prives is a little bit of work. You kind of need to know what you are looking for on before you go in. How is this done? Well research. The big Prives will have 10 girls, if you go in odds are the best ones are already taken and you will be left being presented the less popular girls. So how do you do your research? A number of ways.

Arrived in Rio yesterday night after a long series of flights from California. The radio taxis were asking for R$99 to go to Copacabana. I heard a good while ago that Termas Aeropuerto was supposed to be re-opening. Any updates regarding this place? Last time I was down in Rio (last summer) , the building was all boarded up and covered in graffiti.I last I heard, someone said that it was going to become a gay-Termas. Have no idea if that is true or not. Aeroporto has never been a very good Termas. IMO. I'm actually staying at the Aeroprto Othon this trip to Rio. Termas Aeroporto is about 20 meters from my hotel & I could care less to even check in on the place. Every time I've gone there it was filled with obese women with attitudes. Of course your own experiences may be different.

The issue with ladies there wearing clothes doesn't really bother me. If they have nice bodies then they will wear clothes to show themselves off. If they are fat or have bad bods then those gals will wear a lot of clothes to cover up the flaws. Not hard to figure that out and it is exactly how they do things at clubs in São Paulo like Bomboa. For that price you'd think they could have included HOT water. BTW, that wood deck is plastic.

I am glad you going down there, because I will be there VERY soon as well. Try to get names and post the prices too. I also like Centaurus and will go by there at least once I have already budget and sit aside $$ for at least 3-4 sessions at the place LOL BUT they have had some nice looking dimes each time I been there and had many come by my place too. I would also go by Balcony a few times since you down there BEFORE heading down to Barbarella I know some Navy Vets that have retired and live in Rio and they have told me many of the Barbarella's girls will go by Balcony 1st looking for tricks and have a drink or two before walking down the street to Barbarella's.

It has been quite a while since I've visited Centaurus, but back when I did I almost always had a very good time. Used to drop lot's of cash there & have enjoyed some deep friendships with some ladies there. Yet the attitude of the desk personnel towards gringos (like me) always pissed me off & as I mentioned before I personally have never found the quality of women there all that impressive. Yes there are fat chicks at Centaurus as well, at least there were back when I used to visit. But I say do what makes you happy. I'm glad there are guys who go there and have the time of their lives. If everyone liked the same thing then the world would be a dull place.
While I'm typing this stuff out at an internet cafe in Catete there is this vapid & annoying California chick blabbing away on Skype about how Rio is dirty & how everyone is drunk and annoying her. Spoiled American women are bad enough but IMO Cali chicks are the worse. This will be my future in a couple of days. On my last day in Rio I decided to visit a Termas that I only go to occasionally. Termas 65. It is much smaller & far more sedate than the nearby 4X4 (sometimes it gets quite lively around 7PM). There was actually an OK selection of ladies there, a few of them were my prefered type (thin & pretty). I eventually settled on a lovely morena from Niteroí who called herself Eduarda. And also that low user fees appropriately place some amount of the cost on those using the service, and help prevent abuse / freeloading. If you think the goverment should provide all public services for free consider asking the USSR how well that worked out.

Monday, I stopped by Cancun. Now, I don't recommend Cancun on Monday. They had a band playing that seemed to drain the energy out of the boate. Entrance R50 credited towards drinks (this is only on Monday. There are other promotions on other days that I don't recall). I would say a selective person could find at least 4-5 girls worth doing. I don't plan to return any time soon.
Friday, I stopped by 4x4: Much better, although over time the girls seem much more mercenary. I have some sympathy with him, and for a further reason than the one stated. I'm active on several ISG forums and have always made it a rule to try to contribute as least as much as I learn. But there is the question of decreasing benefits to all. Tier 1 terms are fine with most sorts of behaviour, including the loud bon vivre that is good friendly spirit in the US and parts of Europe but vulgar in Brasil. But the privees less so. I don't mean to generalise, I have met mongers of all nationalities that absorb and display Brasilian manners as well as being gentlemen in any language. But I have also met the obnoxious types and the occasional useless piece of flesh that shouldn't be allowed near women. So when I come across a new place that maybe has a sensitive location next to offices, for instance, I am hesitant about passing it on to all and sundry. And besides, Sperto has done such a grande job (I particularly like the 'Worth a Visit' ratings) that it is more than enough to get anyone started, and you just need to add and delete as you go along.
There will always be some verbiage, as on any forum. But I think that all Señor Sperto meant was he sees no need to bust his ass pumping the board with info on new privees if no-one else provides new information in return. Fans of particular clubs will always want to discuss them, but the main clubs are well known already and listed in many places on the forum, so he's not really getting anything back when he combs the edificios and lists them in precise, quantifiable detail for the benefit of other board members.
I visit privês because I like them a lot, specially checking out new places. Listing them is just my way of keeping notes.

* The forum used to have lots of contributing members who happily shared valuable information. Now the forum only seems to be about the same old discussions on Balcony, Luomo, Centaurus etc.
* Furthermore the atmosphere on the forum has become unfriendly. It's not encouraging to share information when the forum is dominated by aggressive posters. Posters who propably havn't been in Brazil for a decade. Reading about their high-roller fantasies or university degrees isn't very exciting.

Eric, .I use to go to Rio 4-5 times a year for over a decade it been two years since I last been to Rio so maybe things have change a lot.As I mentioned, I've been to Rio twice in 2011, 5x in 2010, 5x2009 and on. I give an opinion based on my recent observation in Rio, and Kid Cisco had nerve to rebut my opinion. This guy has admittedly not been to Rio in 2 years, and he's critiquing me. Honestly Sperto, you've covered it all. By the time we get to thru your list it's time to go home. Each time I go to Rio, I start from scratch, but I try hard to do my share by giving my observations and intel on finding pussy outside of termas and the Copa triangle.
