Florida Bar is a late spot. Getting there at 12 am or 1 am works best.Florida was 300 an hour when I was there July / August. Where did you get these lower prices from or maybe they dropped them post-olympics but that's the first time I've ever heard of a price drop at Rio boate.
12 am /1 am or later is also good-2/3 am. Any day but Sunday / Monday-Monday is gay night. Saturday is unique because in Centro there are limited options on saturdays. They do exist but are limited to Afterhours boates and Uruguyana spots.
What a shame, Boate Flórida is history. Just like Help, Boate Flórida started like a regular club (in 1969) and then turned into a place for prostitution. During several decades Boate Flórida was the best strip-club in Rio. When there were foreign ships in the port, Flórida was full of girls and foreign sailors. In the nineties there used to be non-stop fully nude strip-shows and even sex-live-shows. The girls hold a very high standard. You could session with the girls in the cabins or bring them to Hotel Puma next door. It wasn't unusual that you could bring girls back to your apartment for free. The whole Praça Mauá area was rocking. Boate Flórida, Scandinavia Bar and Filipino bar all had hords of GPs.
Later the Praça Mauá area changed. Filipino bar turned into a small bar and soon got closed down. Boate Flórida survived but lost it's success. No more fully nude strip shows, only topless, and much less girls and clients. When Praça Mauá got reformed, and Museu do Amanhã opened, Boate Flórida got even worse.

185 Rio Branco is a pain with all the levels and elevators that only go to certain floors and what's worse is they are manned by some guy who just pushes buttons all day, so if anyone has figured out navigating this monster or has a strategy please share. After queuing up for one particular elevator I headed up and back down a couple of times. Here is a quick summary.

In summary that is why these prives / clinicas are hit or miss. Obviously the prices are great but there are also a lot of cons for instance you have to do a lot of legwork, wait for elevators, wait for girls availability, cannot really chat up girls to get to know them and also deal with fickle girls, the*ck discrimination or prejudice LOL. I actually chatted with one of the girls at Delirio / VIP today about my experiences and she said yes when the girls saw me coming they ran and start praying they would not be selected or just don't go out for the presentation and she would not be surprised if that was what happened on my run. She said that their logic is they earn so little compared to a Termas girl that it may not be worth taking a throttling and then potentially not be able to work and earn more. Ironically Brazilian business logic that makes sense, instead of the "fast dollar over the steady dime", a practice that the GDPs and Termas typically exercise. In retrospect I remember times when after I selected a girl in either Delirio or Eden (Copa) she either did not show up or took forever to come to the room. Anyway point noted.
This report does not include Solarium, Centaurus (I refuse) or MV30. I went to Monte Carlo 3 nights, Novo Aeroporto on 2 occasions, Cancun once and Quatro por Quatro twice.
Monte Carlo.
This place is still dear to me as MC, 4 x4 and Luomo got me addicted to Rio. I started after coming regularly just after Help closed so missed that period. Anyway the quality and quantity definitely went down since June / July before the Olympics. Still managed to have a good time but the prices are hard to swallow even for 40 minutes. I sucked it up because I am on vacation and pretty soon I will have some lonely cold nights in Connecticut. There were some really great performances a "dupla" with Imola and Luna and a "luta" with Amanda. A few other nice ones for example Mia (great tits not enough ass) that I would have loved to test drive but was not meant to be this trip.
Cancun.
I was a bit disappointed the problem is you do not get to see the full picture because some of the girls either stay in the whisky lounge and seldomly come upstairs to the main "boate". I have read here there is a bit of confusion about the prices so I had the cashier right it down. It is basically 70 for consumption and either 310 (40 minutes) or 330 (1 HR) or total 400. Anyway I was in the mood for a mature sure thing so I went with Bombom deep chocolate veteran been probably on the scene for 18 years but is in great shape (bomba helps).
Quatro por Quatro.
Not much has changed here thank god they have been reasonable with maintaining prices. What has changed is there are a lot of new faces. Some of my faves were forced to leave due to weight gain or age so I had to look to a new crop. Fortunately I ran into Isis (formerly Bombom and Beatriz in Monte Carlo). It was thick chick Tuesday and she is a legit 6 feet without high heels and now very fit (bomba helps). Been a couple of years since I saw her and I remember first trying her out when she was 21 in MC and now she is 27 and all grown up. Session was great of course 4 x4 rarely disappoints. I tried a blond Grazi there too who is also very good. I did set up take out with a couple (Mirela and Lavinia) at the LoveTime Motel in Gloria. I highly recommend it has everything, disco lights, stripper pole, ceiling and wall mirrors, hot tub etc.
Termas Aeroporto.
So I finally got around to this place and I must say it was worth it. The whole place newly renovated so from the bar, boate, rooms and facilities there was no disappointment definitely felt upscale and more sophisticated. There seems to be promotions every day and I have attached that info below. There are about 30 girls on Wednesday their best day (out of town business men frequent this establishment). I went there Friday and there were probably 20 girls and very little customers. Best way to get there is take metro to Cinelandia stop and either take VLT (light rail) on Rio Branco to Antonio Carlo stop and walk the rest or alternatively take a cab.

Keep up the good work. Great to see some updated intel. Especially about Aeorporto. I've not made it there yet. Typically the mid-tier Centro terma "movimento" (busy days) as you note will be Tues-Thurdsay, with Mondays slow due to most people being slammed with work, and Fridays slow because most of the married dudes have to go home to their families for "weekend time. ".
One thing I would add: Uber is very easy to use in Centro, Zona Sul, and I think (not sure) Barra these days. It's so cheap (Uber X) that people really should consider it, especially for Centro T's at night in areas that are somewhat secluded or you don't know well (like the area around Aeroporto). They even have an Uber English option if you're that bad at Portuguese LOL. Uber Black is a steal compared to other countries, as well. Granted you don't get a Mercedes or BMW like you do in say MX or Thailand, thanks to Brazil's crazy car prices, but it's a step up from Uber X. That said, Uber X cars are reasonable and so cheap compared to Taxis these days I suggest every vistor add them to your transport options for Centro T's and even farther-away places like Solarium.
I'm actually toying with the idea of taking the new metro to Barra and then hopping an Uber to Paris Cafe one day to check it out.

Copa Prives update.
Really narrowed it down to 4 establishments that I wanted to visit based on past experience.
Delirio Oriental Spa.
This was my go to spot in the late mornings during my April and July trip this year, but this time around I did not have much luck. Either I was early, or the manager was saying such and such is now on vacation. The most the line up amounted to were 6 girls, which is strange because there were at least 20 girls on the site.
Fortunately I had the numbers of some of the girls that left and now run their own gig from some apartments right around the corner. Andressa ex Delirio now at 18 Siqueira Campos Apt 201 (200/ HR). Really nice girl 29 years old but looks like 20. Great performer she is not Asian but from Paraiba (*spelling? Says she is mistaken for Japanese all the time but has no Asian blood. I went to the location and saw the sign on the door, which read closed. I ask the doorman and he said it was now gone. Confirmed this with the receptionist at Eden Spa, which is / was their affiliate. Did not last more than 3 months must be high Copa rents.

There is one easy way to navigate the big GP-buildings, like RB185, RB156 and Av Treze de Maio 33. Take the elevator up to the top floor and run down the stairs checking out the salas. The elevator guys at RB185 are a great source of information. They know all the sala numbers with privées, how many girls that works at each privê and the quality of the girls. Several times they have advised me when there arrived new girls.

Wow! Thanks for all the kudos on the report. I actually thought it was a bit sub-par compared to some other, more detailed and humorous, alcohol-inspired reports I've written for Rio, Bogota, Panama City, and DR. Glad to see I haven't lost it after 6 years since my last report. Next one will be after my DR trip in early October. I have not been to a prive in Rio, but my expectation is that it would be pretty much the same thing. This morning I was bouncing around to see what the current teams are looking like in some of the prives and I saw something quite odd. I stopped by Euro Rio Spa's site and saw a message, flashing in the lower left corner, that read "Estamos Funcionando los Domingos" (We are working Sundays). This is definitely a first (that I have ever seen) to have somewhere to go during the day on Sunday. Is it a test run? Is it a stay? I'm not sure but if it's the only place to play on Sunday, they should do well and it may just be something to catch on at a few other spots. Let's hope so at least.

I have a question for those of you guys that are familiar with the Centro venues / termas / casas. Today I was with a girl in MV30 and she was a gem to be found there. Only 22 yo and with a big and juicy ass. Very nice!

Not far from the old BA85 on rua Buenos Aires, heading to rua Uruguaiana, you'll have a chinese lanchonette on the left side (in a corner). Take the left in the corner and you'll find rua das Flores no 13. Both no 13 and 15 are puteiros. Not very fancy.

In the past the price for using the spa was only 50 Reais but now they raised the entrance to 75 Reais which still is good. 15% tax is added to this and it is the same for treatments. The spa has two different saunas (dry and wet) and two jacuzzis and a relaxing area. The environment in the spa is very calm and relaxing. And the main reason that I came to think about making this post and recommend the Windsor Spa is because of the massage that can be had there. It is really professional! I have been trying massages in many places (around the world) but the massage that they do in the Windsor Spa is really first class. It is a kind of massage that gets you very much relaxed and it is so good. The price for a 30 minute back massage is 165 Reais and the use of the spa is included in this price. A full body massage is 265 Reais (50 minutes). And besides from different kinds of massages they also offer all other kinds of treatments.
Once I took a girl there and she had a massage and me as well. It was a great afternoon with massage, jacuzzi, sauna and we also enjoyed the view from the terrace on the top floor. A while ago I shared my experience of the Windsor Atlantica for using their spa and having a massage there. And everything is so excellent there! So I have been a couple of times to Cancun in Centro recently and can share my experience of the club (with a review of the massage there as well).
Pricing is similar to 4 x4 and for an hour with the girl it comes to a total of 400 Reais. 330 for the girl and 70 for entrance but one can use the 70 Reais for consumption in the bar. 4 x4 doesn't include any consumption of beverages but instead the entrance is waived if you take a girl before 6 PM. This is probably known to all of you here but I just mention it in case somebody missed it. The rooms are definitely more comfortable in Cancun where the rooms in 4 x4 are smaller and doesn't seems to have as good lighting. One thing that bothers me in Cancun is that smoking is accepted in the toilets just near the reception and the cigarette smoke can be quite noticeable in the changing area as well. In 4 x4 people seems to go more far away to smoke which is better and I was never bothered with cigarette smoke in 4 x4.

So a disaster happened to me yesterday and my phone broke down. I had it with me in my robe in a terma and close to showers and steam saunas. The high humidity must have messed my phone up because the screen was going crazy and at the end of the night it just stopped to work and didn't respond to touching.
The phone with all the important Whatsapp-contacts to the girls is just so precious and important that when the phone is breaking down it feels like a disaster. So I googled for phone repairs and got a few suggestions and one nearby, in Copacabana, Sigueira Campos. They said that they could fix the phone to the day after for 150 Reais but when checking for availability of the particular screen to my phone they said that they couldn't get it.
I was anyway going to Centro for a terma and saw a phone repair shop in Rua Buenos Aires, close to the Uruguaiana metro station. They only worked with Apple products but they recommended me to a repair shop just nearby. Just by that open space where Buenos Aires meets Uruguaiana there are these so called boxes with plenty of small stores inside and most of them seems to focus on cellphone repairs as well as computer repairs and I also saw repair shops for watches.
I got to the shop that was recommended to me and they said that they could fix my phone for 100 Reais and that it would take 40 minutes or up to 1 hour. One guy left the shop and in 5 minutes he was back with the screen to my phone and he started to work on it. He really took my phone apart completely and I could see him in action, working with my phone. And in 30 minutes he finished his job and I got my phone back in perfectly working condition. What a joy, to get the phone back with all the important information right there. Such a good service to be able to get a phone repair on the spot and for such a reasonable price as 100 Reais.
I mention all this because I think it can be valuable information for any other of you guys, if you will need to get a broken phone fixed fast and efficiently and to a good price. I was really impressed with how smooth the repair went, and how fast it was done. A phone with the contacts to the garotas is something very vital and even just one day without it feels like the sky just fell down on you. Google didn't help me much in pointing me in the right direction but what I discovered is that the repair shops inside the boxes in Uruguaiana is where to go for efficient phone repairs.
Just like to know if somebody recently took a taxi from Copacabana to airport or airport to Copacabana gig Airport. I am flying 2 Rio next month and just got quoted $R140 from airport and $R100 to the airport. Any information on that will be helpful thanks.

From the airport you can take the bus to Copacabana only 17 reais.

The house refused to do anything about it in the April session and the girl said she did not control the time in the October session. I complained to the house (the one opposite Blue House) about the time shorting in the October session but she said it was 30 minutes from the time she wrote on the paper (I knew it was 20 minutes because I showed the time to the girl when we went to the room). For those non-VM veterans who plan to go to VM, I think you should consider the following:
1) Expect the girl or the house or both to try to cheat you on the time.
2) Verify what time the house person writes as to when the room starts.
3) Compare the time on your watch or phone to the time they wrote and tell them that you expect the time to be 30 minutes from the time you have, since the time they write will be ahead of yours.
4) Show the girl the time you have and when you expect the session to end.
5) Always get your change for the room charge before you go to the room. If the house won't give you the change, cancel the session and get your money back.
6) Never agree to a package deal with the girl up front. Get her prices for what you want and tell her that you will pay her after the session for any of those extras that you actually did.
7) If there is any reluctance to accept these conditions, leave because you will get cheated.
8) Don't be surprised if you still get cheated.

UThere are some kiosks right AFTER you leave customs where you can prepay a taxi with credit card for around BRL 71 plus "baggage" fees (they charge extra for bags).To clarify, when I say "AFTER you leave customs" I mean when you exit the final doors to the general airport area, after having cleared customs and now, I think, walking thru Duty Free etc. There are still final doors before you exit into the main aiport. The taxi booth (Infocoop?) is usually right outside the doors once you enter the general airport. Rule of thumb is if they're charging more than BRL 75 or so, you're at the wrong booth.
Don't forget Taxis are double the price on weekends and holidays, so that trip to the airport will be double if its on the weekend.

Santos Dumont is the domestic airport so this does not apply to most readers, except those coming from Sao Paulo perhaps.
In SDU you can get an outbound Uber by walking through the entire arrivals area to what is called the Bossa Nova Malll (also called Aero Mall), which is literally adjacent to the airport. Just there on the ground level is a designated Uber pick up area with Uber employees hovering around to help and all.

Stay somewhere in Flamengo, Botafogo, Copacbana, or even Ipanema that is close (1-2 blocks) to a Metro station. The Metro will get you within walking distance of enough establishments.
(I didn't add other areas covered by the metro for various reasons, which I will not detail at this point).
Some misinformation is given in the forum about taxi fares and double fares on weekends.
Saturday (partly) and Sundays are Bandeira 2. Bandeira 2 is not double fare, it's only 20% more.
Bandeira 1: Monday-Saturday, 6.00-21.00.
Bandeira 2: Monday-Saturday, 21.00-6.00 and Sundays.
Exceptions on some holidays (Carnival, New Year etc).

On my way to and from Amazonas for work, I made some stops in Rio. First visit was not much more than 24 hours and I made the most of it. Since you're allowed just 90 days at the beginning it was extended to a date in late June at a policia federal extrangeiros building. Since I left in early June I didn't not use the whole extension as as I mentioned I stayed a total of 109 days out of a possible 180 in a year. But since it was extended can I return at all this year? Would I receive 71 days or would it be less than that and based on the extension's expiry date. I've tried calling the embassy with no luck, the consulate's number in london just doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll add a different pic of a woman I met at that pick up bar by the hotel for inspiration. Very long report in Manaus Brazil will be finished soon, seems a very underestimated place.

You can come back and use your other days or you can wait till early December and use another six months. , you went to Brazil late February so if you go to Brazil early December after 71 days it is late February so automatically you can stay 19 additional days and then you can ask another three months because your last arrival date (late February), also you stayed six months outside Brazil.
Conclusion: come now and use your remaining days or wait till early December to have 90 days and 90 day extension (180 days) you have 180 days per year the first arrival date is important so you can use your days in many times.

The.I am a Rio regular and love the city and benefits. You should be aware that all accommodation is at very inflated rates around NYE, so be prepared to pay up if you go to Rio. Having said that Rio at NYE is very impressive.
For mongering you will find that many venues will be closed for at least part of your stay if you go around NYE.

You are introduced to MPB, the food and drinks, slang and even some of the establishments of Rio. There are a few lessons that they must have been thinking about the hobby. The only problem is that it is an online. Sit down in front of a computer kind of thing. I like Pimsular because I can listen to the lessons while driving in my car.
Look for a coupon code. I think I got a life membership for 75 $. There are lessons in Semantica that apply directly to what we do. It was created by an American who lives in Rio.

FWIW, my taxi ride with 2 "volumes" (suitcases) from GIG to Copa at 2 am earlier in the week (Bandeira 2) cost about BRL 83, and was closer to BRL 78 before the charge for each of the "volumes. " That's a common yellow taxi on the meter, taking the new tunnel thru cento to Aterro de Flamengo. The booths outside customs did not have the same Infocoop stand I've seen in other terminals, they were charging BRL 130. So I grabbed a taxi outside.
By comparison, sending a friend back from Copa to Duque de Caxias in Uber X cost about BRL 69 during the day with no surge pricing. But hey, Cartman is a nice guy.

I hour was 330 Reais and 40 minutes was 310 (not 300 Reais). I don't know if they raised the prices just recently to 330 Reais for 40 minutes as QuackUp is saying. I really want to visit the low tier Termas in Centro and the Trash areas. Any safety precautions I should keep in mind or should I just stick to the costlier termas. I am not rich BTW.

Those of you who arrived in Galeo the last 1-2 months, when you passed the customs with your bags, did all the passengers have their bags x-rayed?
I know they used to examine random passengers who got a red light when pressing a button. A few times I've seen them x-ray random passengers bags. However the last years I've only seen one custom guy around not checking nobody at all.
I'm curious if they have changed their routines and starting to x-ray all the bags of the arriving passengers ( a rumour I heard)? I'm not bringing anything illegally, just too much of some stuff that's being limited to a low amount.When they were remodeling the airport I was given a behind the scenes tour. The plan was that all the bags would be x-ray as they came off the planes and passengers with suspicious bags identified. They actually tested this and found it unworkable. What would happen is you would be waiting for your bag and an agent would come up to you and tell you your bag was in another area. Customs deemed it more trouble that it was worth and went back to the you seem to have a lot of stuff method.
BTW, there is a separate location off the airport where they take commercial cargo that did not pass inspection as well as items confiscated from passengers. There they post the legal notices and it is auctioned or stolen as the case may be.

As long as your apartment / hotel is girl friendly, you should be OK with the girls. The worst thing a Brazilian can be is a thief; it's considered extremely low class. More of a risk when getting take out from somewhere like Mabs.
You'll be fine in any of the 2nd tier termas in centro (MV 30 and the like) as well as the prives anywhere in the city. VM is probably not the best idea if you're solo and don't speak any portuguese.

VM is probably not the best idea if you're solo and don't speak any portuguese.Why do you say that? Not to start a debate, but I don't see those as being a reason not to go. Although I can speak passable Portuguese, all of the times I have been there, I almost never need to speak to anybody. Just get out of the taxi, bus or train, walk around, choose what you like, ask how much, pay it and go upstairs (although it took me years to finally session with a chick there, but that's another subject, LOL). Not much Portuguese needed for that IMHO. As far as going solo, if you follow the route and take normal precautions, you should be good (always a possibility of something going wrong). I would suggest that a newbie go during daylight (if you're not comfortable traveling at night) so you can see where you are going better and get acclimated to the area.
It took me a few years (sometime in the mid to late 2000's) to finally make the trek to VM, due to the negative things that was said about the place. My buddies who checked it out before me made it sound like the worst place ever (just mentioning it made them cringe, LOL), took me a while mostly because I was busy with other things, but I finally said screw it, took a train (following instructions from these sites) and went solo. I've been going solo since and never saw anything to cause me any concern about returning.
Of course speaking Portuguese and having a road dog is always better, but don't let the lack of those things stop you. Do your research of how to get in and out of there and you should be fine IMHO. I'm sure Backdoor and other vets have better experience than me, but I'm just basing this on my experience and observations over the years.

In talking with a number of hotel operators in Bangkok, I found out many people stay only one night because the fares connecting through Bangkok were cheap. If you are planning a trip to another SE Asia destination always check the routing through Bangkok.

4 por 4 is not as good as in the past, it is too stressful, there are many other cheap termas, they have rooms with bathroom the only inconvenience there is no sauna or robe.
Taxes are now bad in Brazil, they increased price by 10 reais to be able to pay their facility. That is why Brazil will never be stable.

In Ipanema try the Abilità Suites Ipanema Tower, Rio de Janeiro. It's an apart hotel if this is the type of thing you're looking for. There are a few more in Ipanema same style.

The terma business is lucrative, and getting involved in cocaine distribution in zona sul, particularly in the areas where Solarium, Centaurus, and Monte Carlo are located, is both dangerous and bad for business. The majority of the terma business comes from Brazilian businessmen who generally don't do a lot of blow.
However, when a gringo (or even a local) asks for blow, the girls and the wait staff will happily take your money and come back with a bag of baby milk formula, with the caveat that they can only deliver it in one of the rooms, obligating the buyer to a session with the girl. While the buyer is waiting in the room for the girl, the girl will change her clothes and then rub lidocaine / zylocaine on her tits. When she gets the room, she'll let the buyer have his line (generally taken off the girl's body somewhere) and then stick her tits in they guys face which will usually get sucked / licked. The resultant numbing of the guy's mouth will make him believe he's just had cocaine despite having snorted baby formula.

ThanksMabs is better / easier. Just use it. I'm assuming you are just going to be in the general copa area.
IMHO, and from my experience, for bars you will need to be fluent in Portuguese because of the noise. It won't be practical to keep using your translator app in there. Bars are too expensive for most locals anyway so you won't see girls just working in them. In places where girls speak good english and go out a lot (like ipanema), well, they are usually well-to-do and arent working girls.
There's lots of great fun to be had in Brazil. No need to go off the beaten path here, just stick to the tried and true. The best gems are placed exactly where they think you'll be looking.

Started off at Afrodite-rough round the edges spot with a couple of diamonds for sure. You have to keep checking in though but the entry is like 10 reais or less so who cares.

And 70 Reais in entrance which can be used for consumption.

I hit up MV30 last night around 8 PM, stayed for about 2 hours. Decent amount of girls for the size of the place and enough guys that you werent the center of attention. Most of the girls were average looking, so real stunners. I met a girl who actually went to high school in Houston, so we had a nice 30 minute conversation about how she went from attending college in America to hoeing in Rio de Janeiro. 2) Rip Off. I did not sessoin at MV 30. So when I went to pay at the exit, I was watching while the girl rang up my bill. The screen clearly said 54 R. However, she minimized the screen and then told me my bill was 60 R. I asked for the bill and when she handed it to me, it said 54 R! Luckily, I had the exact change in my pocket, so I gave her the 54 R, took the paper and walked out. (Its one think if someone asked for a tip, but to try and just rip me off just makes me angry!
Side Note, 4 X4 was absolutely dead yesterday! Aboout 15-20 girls and they were bored to tears. I remember in the past that the first Tuesday of every month, there would be some sort of partya nd every girl had to work that day. Lets hope the selection is a little better today!!

So following Robs list I visited Angel and Onix at 185 Rio Branco. Real easy to get to. Right outside the metro.
Angel apt 1708 was 90 for 30 minutes and 140 for hour.

They were busy and I get trying to turn over the rooms, but wtf.

I have 5 nights scoured alot of spots-even stuck my head in MC. As well as 4 x 4. T31,MV30,Subsolo, T81,119,VM, Afrodite and even passed Mabs just to see for myself what the street level is. (couple 6 out of 10's on a Tuesday night).
Even VM was awful. Couple cuties but poor. The non-pro scene is strong in Rio-the bloccos that run daily in different bairros testify and Lapa, Nossa Senhora etc and parties but GDP scene in termas is on the decline.
I have been coming every 3 months for a month for 3 years and this is the worst ive ever seen.
I have yet to inspect the privee scene so I shall hold off making a complete judgement but I am seeing 2/3 ex-VM, Ex-Florida girls from 1 year + back daytime and that says sth.
Also a lying-ass hot Indigena from MV30 is a daytime thing. All 150-200.

I was in the 4 x 4 around November (Last Month) and too me the talent was at a stalemate. I thought with Brazil being broke and in a Recession. More GDP's would be on the market. But I guess I miscalculate that most of the Recession hit most of the local Brazilian clientèle also, and they cannot afford to spend money like that, like how they use too. Also with high plane ticket prices to Brazil, that also took a lot of Foreigners off the market also. I was in 4 x 4 all week and it was not packed with clients like how it use to be back in the days, or even just last year. Seen about 7 guys total.
One of my main GDPs is going to Sao Paulo because there is always business men flying in Sao Paulo to do business so that were the money is right now. So does that mean the 4 x 4 well close down? Also when are they going to open another club like help?
Brazil is crazy expensive and I think they need to get back cut taxes, and lower prices to stimulate growth. I know they have over 100 Billion Dollars in there Reserves, But how long can you sell dollars to support your Economy?

The scene in Rio is much better unless Rio changed in one month, if the termas are dead now is because they depended on locals most Brazilians won't pay the crazy price, less guys (average Brazilians can't pay that much and less tourists in Rio.
Everyday is dead when you monger in Rio? Is it really so hard to find some nice girls?

I mentioned this on the SP thread, though Turgid obstinately and incorrectly IMO argues that "most people who have been to both cities is that Rio is better. " Yet, here we see recent reports from long time visitors saying the opposite. I do think that Rio is a more user friendly destination for tourists and mongers, things are far more concentrated. If you visit SP, its best to find a local monger guide. I live in Rio, for over 2 years now, had lived in SP previously, and plan to return to SP permanently. I will not miss Rio's monger scene one bit, and I know I will have a huge upgrade in my adventures in SP. I know this because in 2016 I spent 2 separate months in SP and had more great sex in those 2 months in SP than in 10 months in Rio. Of course, there are exceptions everywhere, and its quite possible to find some good repeats in Rio. But I am a monger who prefers novelty over repetition, and I have a high standard for beauty and performance.
With that in mind. Rio is slow right now. Just looking at the major sites for free lancers and clinica / prive and the new ads are few and far between. I visit nearly every clinica / prive in centro and zona sul periodiclally to check things out, and the talent level is real real low. Even guys on the local forumx have commented that there is very little new talent in the market.
One seldom commented issue which I believe is a huge part of the problem is the substantial increase in weight of the average Brazilian. The entire population is getting fatter, and girls that a few years ago would have been falsa magras are now gordinhas or worse. This average is reflected in the working girls. Take a hot girl and add a few poorly distributed kilos to her, and she becomes just average looking. To make matters worse, the few "thin" (by Brazil standards) girls incredibly want to get fatter be / see they think men prefer "mulherao" bodies. This drives me crazy be / see the girls that tell me this are not thin by most cultural standards, its just that the Brazil standard has become so distorted that they all think they need body build thighs and silicone ass. They fail to understand that they are already fine, and they will only get worse by trying to get "bigger", they will just lose their nice fine waist and become chubby like the majority. Its a real shame, the body image preference here is all distorted right now. This may be a problem all over Brazil but it seems very pronounced in Rio. At least in Sao Paulo, I found a higher fitness average amongst the working girls.
All of this comes with a huge caveat. Rio is still a great place to visit for mongers that are not jaded (like me and some regular visitors). It can be a pussy paradise for newbies and infrequent visitors. My comments are totally in the relative sense, relative to Rio past, and relative to SP present.
Heading to Brazil very soon and today I decided to compare my puteiro list with recent reports on Gpguia. In Dezember-March I noted that many privées have closed down. Today I was surprised to read reports from quite a few newly opened/reopened privées. Very good news! :)
I hit up MV30 last night around 8 PM, stayed for about 2 hours. Decent amount of girls for the size of the place and enough guys that you werent the center of attention. Most of the girls were average looking, so real stunners. I met a girl who actually went to high school in Houston, so we had a nice 30 minute conversation about how she went from attending college in America to hoeing in Rio de Janeiro. I think the price was 170 R for 30 minutes and 270 for one hour. I think it as a little expensive for the quality of females but maybe it will be better later in the week.
Two Negatives
1) Tips. One thing that happened to me in MV30 that I never had happen in any other terma. After talking to two females for about 5 minutes, each one asked for a tip. I acted like I didn't understand what a "Caxinha" was. But they both asked for like 20-30 R. I had already bought each one a beer, so I was put off by the asking for a tip. I just excused myself, went to the bathroom and then started talking to another female when I returned.
2) Rip Off. I did not sessoin at MV 30. So when I went to pay at the exit, I was watching while the girl rang up my bill. The screen clearly said 54 R...When I go to MV30, I can check inside without paying if there is nothing I directly leave, sometimes they ask me some tips I say I can give you some tips if I don't pay entrance, they just give me a key with a number if I drink one coke I only pay one coke if I don't drink anything I don't pay anything it is nice for me because I can go out to eat something and come back without paying, I pay 5 reais tip, it is a good thing for me.
I was in MV30 last night to find this big booty girl named Dandara, she has received excellent reviews on the internet. While I was having a drink, another girl came up and started a conversation. She asked me if I knew about he promotion. When I said I dint know what she was talking about she mentioned that on Thursday the manger usually has a 2 for 1 promotion. Pay for one girl but you can take two to the room. I haven't seen this mentioned on the board or on forumx, so I wasnt sure if it was true.

If you want the beach scene, then sure Rio is the place to go. If you want good food and nightlife SP is far better for food, and both have good nightlife options. As for your "dump" comment, this is entirely neighborhood specific. To me, much of Rio is a dump compared to the better neighborhoods in SP. Moema, Itaim Bibi, Pinheiros, Jardins, these place are cleaner and as upscale or more than the best neighborhoods in Rio. But lets just say both places have a few good neighborhoods and a lot of bad ones. Its simply wrong to characterize the entire city as a dump. Though you might get that impression riding from the airport. I will agree that SP is most definitely not a touristic city. I often say its a great place to live but I wouldn't want to visit. Unless I was a hard core monger.

IMO São Paulo has much more to offer when it comes to mongering, without any doubt. However as I never liked São Paulo as a city, too huge and ugly for me, I prefer Rio de Janeiro instead of São Paulo. When I spend 3 months in Brazil the mongering is just as small part of my activities. I've visited all states in Brazil. I have several favourites, but Rio wins the race. Not because of the mongering scene, but because of a lot of all other aspects. Not at least the beauty of the city, the beaches etc.
When it comes to mongering in Rio you can easily find 50 puteiros within a couple of blocks. That's amazing. However to find the perfect gem might needs a lot of walking and ringing on door bells, which I don't mind. I like that I can take the metro from Copacabana. Pass by a bunch of puteiros in no time, get laid and be back on the beach in less than 2 hours. That's impossible in São Paulo.
The ones who prefer Rio, stay there, and the ones who like São Paulo, stays there. IMO the less I see of you, other gringos, where I monger, the happier I'll be. :)
I also thinks you should stop complaining on AltoBomGosto. He's the one who gives the most useful TD's on this forum. Personally I would never use a guide, but I'm sure that ABG's offers a very valuable service. Of course he should charge something when he brings a bunch of newbie gringos to the best privées in São Paulo.
Regarding the the trend with horseasses, thick tighs, silicone etc that's a shame. I prefer slimmer girls with pony-asses and everything natural. Its only a pissing match if people get pissy about it. Otherwise, I think its perfectly reasonable to compare them so that people who are planning to visit can make accurate choices on how to spend their time. In other posts I have listed what I think are the objectively different pros and cons of each location. Each reader can then decide which is best for them based on what is more important to them. I wouldn't agree that its apples vs oranges re putaria because both places have the same elements. Prives, clinicas, free lancers, boates / thermas, trash. Comparing those elements in terms of quantity, accessibility, hours, rates, and infrastructure is a perfectly reasonable and valuable discussion IMO. I jumped into the discussion trying to add those objective criteria (or maybe it was int he SP thread) because there were so many posts with no substantiation suggesting one city was a better location than the other. Like you, I have no great desire to see more gringos, but I also have an instinctive aversion to reading misrepresentation of places I know quite well.
Agree w you re ABG. The guy contributes a huge amount of information, and if people want extra personal service, its a laissez faire world. I have met many mongers who can't find their way around without some help and they are happy that someone is there to offer it. As Tom Jobim said "Brazil is not for beginners", sometimes it helps to have some help from someone on the ground.

As far as I am concerned, the quality and quantity has been watering down for over 15 years already. Much of this began once the ladies starting chasing the Euros years ago. Plus a couple of other factors. None the less, there is still plenty bunda in Rio and SP. If you learn the language, even more options are presented to you.
Logistics are my number 1 priority, and Rio fits my needs adequately. One may have to dig a bit deeper in their pockets, and search a bit more, but there are gems to be found. If you happen to find one before they become jaded, homerun!

Once in a very rare while (like sometimes during Carnaval) they will open on Sunday from what I remember, but it may be a 1 x / year thing. I think their website still says they are open on Sunday but as far as I know it is years out of date.
