I would never go to Argentina, for the women anyway.

Personally I am more comfortable with Brazilians because I can speak Portuguese with a Portuguese and Brazilian accent. Brazilians think I am from Brazil. I had a good experience in Argentina though my knowledge of Spanish is limited, to me Brazil is better than Argentina because My Spanish is not as good as my Portuguese but in terms of girls, I find they are as beautiful as each other. If you speak good Spanish with a beautiful accent, in that case Argentina is for you.

Suites in 4 by 4 are way bigger than those of Cancun. The suites in 4 by 4 on the first floor are the biggest rooms I have ever been in a terma. Cabins are more or less like those of Cancun unless you ask for the cabins next to cafeteria, they are way bigger. Cabins only provide enough space for three people.
You better pick girls' number to meet them late in the night. Many girls in termas are up for sex party.You got to be shitting me. There are bigger rooms at 4 x 4? I banged some stunners over there. As mentioned in my other posts, I prefer 4 by 4 over Cancun but that doesn't mean I hate Cancun because I've never had bad experience in that terma. The only thing I don't like about Cancun is that their staff service is humdrum and they don't have new talent, only the same girls working there, it feels like they don't change them.

I am back from Rio I have stayed 1 week, just few information Taxi from GIG to Copa (fixed price !90 reals et from Copa to GIG 70 Reals Warning don't smoke outside airport there are municipal policia ready to give you a fine if you smoke!
Currency 1 euros.. 4. 15 reals in some Cambio av Nossa Senhora super! When I was in Rio 6 years ago it was 1 euros .2.5 reals.
As you know Balcony is closed and now the restaurant's name is Immaculate no girls at all, but very closer you have Mab's. I was 3 nights in Mabs for sure low quality and less girls than in Balcony.
I found 2 girls one very nice but lot of tattoos very good session with her, price 300 reals (I forgot her name), another 25 yo but very professional same price (name Luana).
There is a very young blond situated often in the corner of Av Prado Junior and av Atlantica, she looks very pretty but often I saw men speaking with her and no pick up maybe high price!

(third end or high end termas). You will find more stunners. Make the most of Rio de Janeiro because everything is cheap since Reais has fallen against Euro. If there is one girl you like, just talk to her. It is just business if she asks too much just skip it. Try as many venues as possible and don't only stick to one place.

The main difference in my analysis from yours is that I assign subjective weights to each category (first column) of the factors that I consider important. This is a very subjective decision. Assign your weighting preference to this analysis and you may arrive at a totally different outcome.
Girls & service are the 2 categories of major importance to me so they are weighted heavily (60%) and equally in my calculations. Note, that I personally find Thai girls more attractive than Brazilians, but I admit Brazilian girls are wilder and les inhibited in bed, but when it comes right down to it, I like Thai and Brazilian girls about equally, but for different reasons, so the determing factors for me, anyway, turn out to be the less important categories like safety (which includes crime stats, ease of getting around, no hassles, & relative ambiance of the place), purchasing power at hotels, and local cuisine. So, Thailand comes out on top in my analysis every time. Which is why I have not been to Brazil in ages although I do have some fond memories of the girls. I will probably visit Brazil again one of these years, but I am not holding my breath. Ha Ha.

Fuck that. I lived in Rio for 5 years and have lived in Pattaya the last 8. I always thought I would retire to Rio, but that was the old Rio. 2018 I say Thailand. In my opinion it is a tough choice as both countries have their strength and weaknesses. I have been visiting Rio and Pattaya for years. I speak Portuguese but not thai, which indirectly shows my preference.
Girls: For me Brazilian ladies wins hands down. On average sex is better and I find Brazilians more attractive. Prices are cheaper in Thailand though. If you want a live-in girlfriend I would think this would be easier in Thailand.

With regard to the quoted assertions by Sperto I will like to add that it is easier to pick up Brazilian women if you speak Portuguese. I lived in Thailand (7 years) and Indonesia (3 years). I've been in Brazil for 7 days on holiday, so take all I say with a grain of salt Feel free to look up my posts in the Thai and Indo forums if anyone is heading there.
I do speak fluent Thai, Indonesian, and average (European) Portuguese, so language barrier is not much of an issue in my case. I will definitely concur that meeting Brazilian (male) friends is already waaaay easier here than in Asia. Indonesia was okay for that, Thailand was pretty much impossible. I've made more dude friends a week than I did in 7 years in Thailand. However, that's not something I really care too much about, since this is all about finding hot women to bang.
As everyone has mentioned, it's all up to personal tastes and I think I'm incurably infected with Yellow Fever. I find myself even seeking out the Asian gals here, when I know that the local stock is objectively beautiful as well. As for safety, I went ten years in Asia with one mugging. As I've read through this board, I know that there is a pining for the 'good old days' -- same in both of the other locations -- but it's a pretty amazing thing that we are able to indulge these fantasies at all in this day and age. I luckily have a bit of spending cash and no familial attachments of any kind, so my preference for Asia is probably due to me landing there first ten years ago at the ripe old age of 23. If it had happened differently, I can definitely see myself falling in love with this culture (and the deliciousness of the local fauna).

Similar clubs, and even cheaper, are 119 Rua the Alfandega (near Rua Uruguaiana) and 210 Rua Uruguaiana (on the other side of Avenida Presidente Vargas from 119 Rua the Alfandega). Howdy guys. I stopped going to Rio right before the World Cup / Olympics madness, but am hopping back into to the mix and going back to Rio soon. Are the same Termas still up and running, eg. 4 x 4, Monte Carlo, T65, Solarium, etc. I heard that Centaurus was shut down but reckon it's back up and operating now, yes? Any new good venues pop up in the last few years?
Just out of curiosity, how much does an hour session at a place like Monte Carlo run now? When I was last in Brasil inflation was out of control. Just want to know what to expect.

It depends on owners' policy but in airbnb you have to ask every owner if their apartment is girl friendly.

Brazil has just slipped out of the top 10 coming in around 15th place last year. Statistically speaking it was actually safer in Irag during the US led wars in Irag than in the Brasil.
What Komo said is correct in that most serious crimes occur in the poor areas which do slant the statistics but it is still dangerous anywhere Zona Sul, especially after say 10 pm at night. It is a weird violence in that most nights are really really safe until the split second when it isn't and all manner of shit can happen. You definitely need to be aware of where you are.

I've been stopped in a normal taxi the last 2 nights-firstly on rua SA Ferreira by pavãozinho entrance and last night on outskirts of vm. They searched my rucksack first night and last night I was made to get out the car but both episodes ended with no problem. Not cool though as they like a little cafezinha-bribe at times. Can go left.
Copacabana is very safe compared to many places in Rio de Janeiro.
It is better to take a taxi after 10 pm and avoid empty streets, that's why the cars don't stop in the lights at night when the streets are empty.
Favelas in Zona Sul are not as dangerous as favelas in Zona Norte and Zona Oeste. Many gringos and tourists live in Favelas in Zona Sul, because the rent is cheaper and can't rent apartments and studios in the city because it is more expensive. There are hotels in Favelas in Zona Sul. Favelas in Zona Sul are pacific.
Favelas in Zona Oeste are led by bandidos or milicianos. Copacabana is very safe just be careful of thieves at night along the beach and any paths, many of them ride bicycles and stay away from streetwalkers. There are many pickpockets along the beach at nigh that's why you have to take a taxi or uber when you get back home. The beaches are safe at night only when there are many people.

2) Rio de Janeiro is very safe, no need to brag to others about your survival in Rio De Janeiro and say how good of a war veteran you are, because Rio de Janeiro has nothing dangerous. Just stay at the right places and at the right moment.
3) I've never had trouble in Brazil, the only place I got scammed is in Japan and the only place I got attacked is in HongKong. The difference between Brazil and Asia is in Brazil you smell the danger from far away and you know what you expect.
4) Don't be dumb, stay away from trouble and don't scratch where it is not itchy.

I will be heading to Rio sometime next month and I am happy to stumble upon all of your valuable postings. I've tried contacting the mid priced (local Brazilian) hotels in Copa, and it seems like most to all of them weren't "guest friendly". I decided to stick with an American brand near Centro, who confirmed that visitors are allowed on the premises. IMO I think you may have a better time dealing with the American brand hotels regarding a "guest friendly" policy.

Monday I was eating at Miguel Galetos when a buddy of mine passed by. He said he was getting ready to go to the beach and would be at #147. I told him that I would meet him there after I finished eating and put on my beach clothes. I assumed that since my buddies knew and had dealt with the guy before that he was on the up and up. I guess it was dangerous to assume that because they are vets they know what the prices should be. Lesson learned to always ask the prices beforehand no matter who you think you are with and it is also probably a good idea to pay as you go.

IMO I think you may have a better time dealing with the American brand hotels regarding a "guest friendly" policy.You might want to run the Centro hotel by some of the experienced Rio forum members. Some advice to avoid getting fooled:
* Get a tan as soon as possible. A pale (or pink) gringo is more likely to get ripped off.

* When buying drinks from the beach barracas always inform of the prices before you order.
* The beach barracas are obliged to have a large pricelist well visible in the barracas.

* Buy drinks from the drink sellers who pass on the beach carrying isopor-boxes. Many of them are hard-working guys from Zona Norte who carry heavy loads every day in the hot sand. They deserve business. Find one or two of these guys who charge decent prices and always have plenty of ice in the box and become his regular customer. He´ll treat you like a king and always have a icecold Guaraviton waiting for you.
* If you stay for some time in Rio. Buy your own beach-chair and parasol. There are many China-shops on NS Cop selling theam cheap. It's much nicer to have your own fresh chair and don't have to sit in a beach-chair from the beach barracas that smells of old sweat and farts.
* Also if you stay some time in Rio, buy a small soft termal bag. Bring you own icecold drinks, fruitsalad or sandwiches. No need to be ashamed, many cariocas bring their own coolingbags filled with goodies.
* Maybe somebody wants to try going to the beach in the suburbano-way? Buy a lot of cans in the supermarket, pick up a bag of ice in a depósito de bebida and chill your own beer on the beach. For nightlife action, there is Fosfobox in Copacabana. This is kind of a hippie crowd and Wednesday nights, there seems to be an adequate number of gay men. I've went twice and the downstairs music is hip hop. Downstairs opens at 1 AM. You can find a number of bars in Lapa with the younger grungier version of Rio women.
