Sadly, this has been the case for a long time my friend.
I've been going to Rio for over twenty years. It was monger heaven for the first ten years. Beautiful girls from all over the country converging on Rio to make some cash. The girls weren't jaded and often wouldn't go home if you treated them right. In that time, you could see how the internet was making Rio too popular for foreign men. The World Cup, the Olympics, moralizing politicians and on and on forced the changes.
At one time I would never say this, but now I say if you are solely interested in mongering go to Sao Paulo. Yes, it's a totally urbanized form of mongering (no beach, no major sightseeing, no relaxed atmosphere). However, this is where the beautiful Brazilian girls are working.I don't have Rio for comparison, but I do have the rest of the world, and can say São Paulo is tops in looks and service for me. Those who followed my SP adventures a few months back know that I saw quite a handful of girls. The truth is that I came back to Rio because twenty years ago I had a blast here with feminine thin friendly graceful girls from all over the country, especially making friends and partying with the girls, for reasonable prices or no money at all. Being recently single I really want to go to Argentina and Brazil in the first half of 2019. - Rio de Janeiro gives a vibe of being much sketchier than Sao Paulo. I didn't get mugged or robbed, nothing got stolen. But it just feels sketchier. However, in general it's safe as long as you don't go into bad neighborhoods or empty streets. I was either in the city center (Carioca, Cinelandia, etc) or Copacobana / Ipanema (the beaches) - the areas I was in were usually somewhat crowded, so I was fine. But I have a feeling that if I saw a group of idle-looking kids on an empty street, I'd be tempted to just run away, possibly leaving my flip flops behind. Maybe it's just me being paranoid.
- The sights. The national history museum is cute, the naval museum has several scale replicas of the old sail ships, obviously the Jesus statue has a nice view and the cog train ride is entertaining, also a ferry ride to Niteroi (across the gulf from Rio) has great views (sunset time is the best) and is nearly free (2 or 3 reals round trip). There are several "free" walking tours. I found taking one of those early on a great way to get the feel of a new city.
- Transportation. Uber, if it gets expensive due to surge pricing (can jump from 10 real to 30+ real in a heartbeat) then tram or subway (either are supposed to be safe, are air conditioned, and cost less than 4 reals. Santos Dumont airport is literally downtown, it's 3 stops by tram or 7-8 minutes by uber. But I wouldn't walk to and from it.
- Now for the goods. The only place I visited was the sauna club Whiskeria 65 http://whiskeria65.com.br/inicio/.
Address: Rosario 65 - it's steps away from the ferry terminal and the few very busy streets. I walked there and away. But it was at 5 pm and 7 pm so it was daylight and the streets were full of people. Any later and it would have been Uber both ways.
The building has a sign, no problem at all to find.
Hours: 5 pm - 1 am.
Cost: 30 real to enter, then there are charges for each girl.
NOTE: the credit card costs are much much higher than cash.

Yes, there is no "sure thing" and, yes, people should cross reference whenever possible and google phone number search is your friend here, but by all means people should know which sites are "better" than others and for what reasons. I have been away from Rio for 2 years, so I do not know if photoacompanhantes is as strong in Rio vis a vis other sites as it is in SP, but due to the technical and structural advantages that I describe in the posts above, I would not be surprised if it was significantly better than the comp. Re the sites that you list. I am familiar with all of them. Most of them are just running on fumes. They have ancient postings that they never remove and they steal photos and numbers from other sites in order to enlarge their "catalogue". I know girls that have paid for ads on clubmodel and malicia, but other sites have copied these ads even though she is not paying them. PhotoAcompanhantes is the clear leader for the following reasons:
- They have a well organized site with all the filter options you could possible want.
- It is mobile friendly.
- They have a "denounce" action so that readers can denounce false announcements. Thereby reducing the number of false ads.
- Its self serve for providers, they can create an announcement in minutes directly online, no need to interface with site admins etc.
- Most importantly, they have a freemium approach, so any girl can create an ad for FREE, and then optionally pay in order to have the ad "boosted" to the top of the list periodically.
The combination of self service and freemium plan make this the only site really worth visiting these days. The others have eye candy, but I wager that 90% or more of the active providers have announcements on PhotoAcompanhantes. YBR.Sure it's possible, for example you can stay in Copacabana at the Marriott hotel or the Pestana hotel, both are good hotels with nice pool on roof top and breakfast and restaurant and bars. Either hotel is within a few blocks of termas Monte Carlo easy to walk to and several cheaper massage places just a block or 2 more. Plus easy access to another termas in Ipanema called Centaurus and taxi to Solarium in Jardim Botanico.

I know this is late but I was in Rio the last week of November and beginning of December before heading to Angeles.
Just a quick mini report since its been over two month since ground zero and I am sure it has changed as Carnival is near.

This tipping bullshit is out of control. They see westerners as stupid and weak and that's why they do it. People think tipping is necessary and it's not.
