But would I actually need to get anywhere from Barra? I might miss Copacabana a little, but from Vagabundo1 postings, it seems that Barra can be self-sufficient in terms of mongering, food options and the beach. I think I've visited all normal tourists sites during my many trips to Rio, and besides, there is now Metro station in Barrra from what I understand. I've almost always stayed in Copacabana or Ipanema during my visits, but I'm tempted to give Barra a try.One can certainly make a vacation of Barra. You can certainly travel to the rest of the city from Barra. Perhaps you have been to Rio many times and desire a change of scenery.
I myself prefer crowded urban beaches to expansive beaches. It's the eye candy factor. More bodies per square feet. I'm not a swimmer so I don't worry too much about clean water. So I visit Barra from Copacabana and Ipanema when I am in the mood.
Honestly, I don't know if Barra is self-sufficient for mongering. The top termas and clinicas are in Centro and Zona Sul. Vagabundo seems to travel to many of them. You have to realize many Rio gringo mongers hit the scene running in a stay that can be a week or less.

My buddy's wife is Brazilian. The last time they went down they stayed in Barra. He said never again. Nothing was really walkable from the place they stayed and everything was spread out. It is like you taking a trip to New York City, but staying in White Plains. Like you said, Barra could be a get away but a lot of folks want to stay in the better known areas with more going on when they are on vacation, not out in the suburbs. As Bookie kind of alluded to, living or a long-term stay somewhere is a lot different than being there for a 1 week vacation.
So my AIRBNB host cancelled, so we just decided to get a hotel. Thanks to Rio Bob, I decided to get the ocean view room he suggested. Just over $100 a night.
The reviews on TripAdvisor are so bad though.
Is Pestena really Girl Friendly? That is the main reason I selected the hotel, that and the great location and view.
Can anyone confirm or deny. I also saw in the forum from a search that Porto bay was GF too?
Any confirmations. Tminus 33 days.Yes the reviews are bad on trip advisor but whose writing those reviews and why? For the most part all those reviews are from regular tourists and they're pretty much just complaining about the fact that the hotel needs a renovation. Yes the hotel does need to be renovated but it's not a showstopper. The pool area could use a little paint but this is not a showstopper, they could sweep the pool area a little better but nothing so bad. The rooms are clean, I tip the cleaning ladies a few reais and they leave extra towels and toiletries and clean the room very good, they appreciate it and do a great job. Sure the furniture in the room like the desk or chairs or couch are outdated but who cares. The big thing that room the ocean front suite is huge and with that balcony the price you're paying is a tremendous value. Even if you went to the Marriott down the street for a comparable price the rooms would be small, no balcony just a drag.
So I overlook the imperfections of the hotel because what I get is tremendous, as soon as I have a girl come over we get a drink and go out on the balcony. They love the balcony, we have our drink then on the balcony they all give me a BBBJ, with my drink in hand and sometimes a smoke, it's become part of my routine. About 30% of the time I even bang them there, just adds so much to the experience. Also the shower is huge, some guys like to do it in the shower, no problem here.
Then at times even around carnival time I sit there on the balcony and watch the various Blocos go down Avenue Atlntica, it's really a good experience. Below is a video of the pool area at night, before Covid they had DJ on weekends, I met girls there and during the day at the pool I've seen girls there looking for guys. So it's a good interesting place. Also below some videos from the balcony and pool.

Thanks for the detailed response. I will give the hotel a shot, you mentioned some nice benefits. The BJ on the balcony with an ice cold beer taking in the scenery does seem like something I'll never forget and regret. Appreciate all the info you provide l.

The BJ on the balcony with an ice cold beer taking in the scenery does seem like something I'll never forget and regret. Appreciate all the info you provide l.I'll follow up with Rio Bob's recommendation, the Pestana is a nice hotel. Especially the balcony rooms. I'm not familiar with the Trip Advisor reviews but I enjoyed my stay there in 2017. From my experience, it is girl friendly. The one time I brought a girl up, the guy behind the desk just smiled and as I walked my girl to the elevator. I don't know if he thought we were going to the upstairs pool bar but she was not stopped to show ID. And you can also find some action at the pool bar on the roof. I met a few semi pros, two when I was staying there and two when I was just visiting. One of them lives in Spain now and I still communicate with her til this day. I would stay at Pestana again but I chose the Arena on this trip. Good luck.

Too bad the joiner friendly selections are limited I. E. Compared to Thailand but gotta get some poonannie somewhere.
Will post some reports once on the ground soon and hoping that Photoacomphantes, Barra VIP etc are legit.
Can someone expand on the Transamerica hotel and is it a place to visit and hang out to scope for pros or should one book a room as an option to network etc.
Other than the massage places for daytime action, where are y'all pulling for daytime outcalls to hotels and the Rio champs recommendation for quality ladies regardless of price.
Thanks gents.

In my head, it's like staying in Fort Lauderdale or Bal Harbour when you can be staying in South Beach. Yes, they are nice oceanfront places, but where is most of the action.
Rio Bob is right about hotels. When traveling, I look for value and more importantly the ease of bringing back girls. If you can bang a chick on the balcony and look over the ocean, what else do you need?
Some of us remember the Rio Roiss. It was worn and outdated. However, it was cheap, clean and they had large corner rooms with a partial view of the ocean. The best thing was it's location and the fact that you can shuttle different girls in and out of your room three times a day if you wanted. If you were planning a dupla (threesome), they might charge you $15 for a third person in a double room if it was late at night.

Totally forgot about the Rio Roiss. Stayed their many times in my earlier trips to Rio. Cheap, great location, and guest-friendly, but too much noise! Are you talking about the sex in many of the rooms? Or the lower floors near the street? It's proximity to Help made it Grand Hooker Station. If you sat in the tiny lobby late at night waiting for someone, you could see all the girls pulled out of Help. You'd high five a stranger that you saw at breakfast earlier in the day.
My buddies and I would take adjoining rooms so the noise didn't matter and we could party with ease with two female friends. Woke up in bed at noon with a hot Brazilian chick in my arms.

and besides, there is now Metro station in Barrra from what I understand. I've almost always stayed in Copacabana or Ipanema during my visits, but I'm tempted to give Barra a try.Jardim Oceanico is the Metro Stop, located on the eastern edge of Barra. From there transfer to the BRT, the Articulated Buses, with dedicated lanes. You could also get on a regular bus and deal with the traffic. Per Google map, its a 5 minute walk form bar garden bus stop to the Hotel Transamerica. BTW, time hasn't been kind to those BRT buses.

It was a sound that you couldn't block out, even though I travel with a white noise machine. That on top of the room noise and normal street noise made for little sleep.

Thanks gents.Barra vip is legit and so is hotside, personally I wouldn't waste my time with photoacomphantes but you might get lucky. My daytime outcalls are from these websites.

I stayed there my first couple of trips down, but moved on to other, better hotels later. The Rio Roiss was in a great location. I can give it that much for sure.We graduated to apartments. It's kind of fun booking a two or three bedroom apartment where you can have a mini-festa. Some of the Copa apartments have balconies and views of the ocean.
Rio Roiss is just a fun memory of our youth and my crew's first trip to Rio. I want to say that trip was the craziest, but the crew added new faces and got a bit larger. You felt like Santa when you took a newbie friend into a termas (or Help in the day).
Rio Sex Site is also legit and should be "mined" when in Rio. Agree photoacomphantes is a waste of time and not worth the effort. What are your recommendations for "mining"? Thanks.
What are your recommendations for "mining"? Thanks.I included a link to the site in my last post. I don't know why it didn't show. That's never been a problem before, as recently as a few days ago. Have a look at it and go for who you like. There are a bunch of new faces there I see. It's where I hooked up with porn star Elisa Sanches. I'll include the link here again. If it doesn't show, then just Google Rio Sex Site:https://www.riosexsite.com/.
What are your recommendations for "mining"? Thanks. Here's another site that's good:

Yoko is in my video from 2018 trip she is in the last 60 seconds of the video the last girl.

Yoko is in my video from 2018 trip she is in the last 60 seconds of the video the last girl.Yoko is #1 on my list next month. I sent her a message to see if she will be in town, she said may be leaving Rio mid October. I hope not, as I get in the 24th.

Any confirmations. Tminus 33 days.I got confirmation that Porto is garota friendly, I asked myself bcuz up staying there in November. I first booked at Pestana bcuz the price and location was great then changed to Porto bcuz of the poor reviews. I don't have first hand seen it myself experience like some of the forum members who say it's not too bad but now that I read it had poor reviews on trip advisor I'm glad I changed bcuz the poor reviews I spoke of were on booking.com . To each their own but me I'the rather spend a few more dollars and be comfortable. Porto was more expensive than Pestana the room not as big but still got a room with sea view and a balcony. YOLO the worst thing to me is being stuck in a shitty hotel for 5 or one that is sub standard by my standards.
About 2 weeks in Rio now, having a blast!
Several days with the main girlfriend doing the lovey dovey thing and then off for some solo time.
I've been all over Centro, VM, Solarium, Tinder, Mosaico, etc.
I hit the jackpot several times really.
VM was slow, but hooked up with a hotttt negra, hit it off and took her to a place outside VM.
One night at Mosaico I got lucky with great chemistry with a hot morenita, last night was a sausage fest there, so I split.
Today I hit some private apartments.
Lots of presentations, I saw some cuties but nothing grabbed me, until I asked the elevator guy politely if he knew of another apartment.
He directed to me one, and a beauty presented and I was in.
She was new, great chemistry, total GFE, already texting for a meet up at my place tomorrow. Jackpot!
Solarium was also fun.
Went with some friends, wasn't going to partake, but one of the girls got my motor running, so off we went.
Good times!
Graas a Deus que Brasil existe! LOL.
Colombia is next, unless their COVID test requirement becomes a hassle, then back to Brasil!
Hey everyone!
I'm a rookie to Rio. I've been looking at some apartments in Ipanema and Copacabana. It seems like everyone specifies "no guests" in their apartments. I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with this before? Or do they all just say this, but you bring guests anyway?

It's in a great location and looks newer and better maintained but as you said more expensive but no big deal. I attached a pic I took outside the hotel which shows nice balconies if you got one of those rooms. I like nice accomodations too, I've stayed at the Copacabana Palace in recent years on a non mongering trip and it was fabulous, best pool I've ever experienced but they have a policy that the only girl that can come in is the one you register on day one so not for me.
Please report back about your experiences during your trip.

It used to be before AIRBNB we stayed in apartments but we went through various agents. These agents knew what we were doing in those apartments and had no problem with it. Some of these agents are still around, send me a PM and I'll respond with a recommendation.

As far as hotel itself goes I'm happy to sign off on that as well. I work in hotels and am self described hotel snob since I can sense the real level of cleanliness, always. I was impressed for sure. Nothing spectacular in terms of lay out or furniture but very clean, and the bathroom was actually really nice. Spend the extra money and go for a room with a balcony. You know that whole BJ enjoying the views thing people have talked about. The balcony isn't very private, you can easily see your neighbors and they can see you but at the right time of night its possible.

Personally I wouldn't chance it, you never know the owner could be in the same building or the doorman has instructions to stop any visitors, look elsewhere. It used to be before AIRBNB we stayed in apartments but we went through various agents. These agents knew what we were doing in those apartments and had no problem with it. Some of these agents are still around, send me a PM and I'll respond with a recommendation. That's probably good advice to look for apartments that don't denote guest restrictions.
I've used the agents over the years. You would just tell them that you were single guys looking to have a good time. They didn't care and would put you in a suitable apartment. Most aren't in that business line anymore due to AirBnB.
I'm curious why you wouldn't share the name of your agents here. Their business is to rent apartments after all.
Bobby looks like he's still in business. Of course, he runs a full service tour agency and cambio.
https://blameitonrio4travel.com/
A word of note: Even after you are offered an apartment by an agent, it can be worthwhile to check AirBnB and other sources. Sometimes (not always), an agent will put a big mark-up on an apartment. It doesn't hurt to check around.
One of my rookie mistakes was to book an apartment with a local guide who was simply marking it up after booking it with an established agent.

Because she doesn't have a website anymore, is local in Rio, I have been dealing with her for many years but lately prefer Hotels, I would have to post her telephone number and I don't think that is permitted. Or even Email.

Last visit was in Jan 2020 well before the pandemic. I'm curious if the termas have any new protocols in place (face masks, temp checks upon entry, social distancing, capacity restrictions, use of saunas etc) or if it's business as usual?
Amazing what can happen when you treat people with respect and politeness.

Here's the text from the girl I met at the apartment, inbound to my place today.Even though she said I didn't have to give her anything in her text, of course I could never do that.
Single mom, taking a day off to be with me, a sweetheart.
So after she left, I got this message below.
I'm sure some guys wouldn't have helped her out, but that's not me.
Plus this type of guy probably would never get a girl to come over for total natural GFE at her own vontade.
Personally I wouldn't chance it, you never know the owner could be in the same building or the doorman has instructions to stop any visitors, look elsewhere. Some of these agents are still around, send me a PM and I'll respond with a recommendation.I would add that not only would I not chance it, but if the listing doesn't mention these rules, I would still verify with the host that bringing friends is OK (no need to specify your friends' line of business). I would also ensure them that I'm quiet and respectful. Some would disagree with this approach, but I seriously don't want any drama.

I usually use booking.com they haven't failed me yet. I use my gut and reviews and always email to confirm guest policies. Do they have private beach? I believe I read that or I might be trippin and it may have been another property. I usually go though a like 5 or 6 and do more and more research before I make my final decisions. Thanks for the report. Hope COVID second wave doesn't screw this trip. I planned for November to see what happened but hope I don't wait too long and miss my window. Looking forward to being able to add some experiences to this tread now.

Just kidding.
Business as usual.
I think they did a cursory temperature check.

Do they have private beach? There are no private beaches in Copacabana or Ipanema. Look at a map. Your hotel is technically on a major road and the beach is across the street.

Disagree, to me it sounds like she just liked a guy that treated her well and performed well in bed TBH LOL.

There are no private beaches in Copacabana or Ipanema. Look at a map. Your hotel is technically on a major road and the beach is across the street.Fairmont at the end of Copacabana staffs people to put on their beach but like Wyatt said its on the other side of the street and not really private. As close to private as you will get if you're concerned about safety.
Any part of the beach can be done safely. Safest is to leave electronics and credit cards in your room, just take the clothes you need and towels, sandals over shoes and what not. Just bring enough cash for some drinks and snacks. But you can bring electronics if you're with a group. Just make sure one person stays with your stuff at all times.
My cousin goes alone all the time and has one of the guys who rents out umbrellas and stuff watch his iphone and wallet and swears it works but I'm not that adventurous. If I go alone I bring no valuables, which I don't love but man the beach is so worth it.

Really don't matter to me. I'm not a beach bum I'm really only going to Rio bcuz I couldn't have forgiven myself for going to Brazil and not going to Rio and seeing Christ the redeemer. From reading the forum seems like SP is the place for me.
Any part of the beach can be done safely
No. Any part of the beach can be a hazard. The rats finds the easy victims easily. They sniff you out in seconds. Newbie gringo is fresh meat.

That's very adventurous of your cousin, Crocodile Dundee II. Another easy option is that you leave your bag with your valuables with your neighbors on the beach. A local.
I'm from the USA. I've read that I only need my passport, and proof of insurance. Just wondering if there's anything else I might need.

Of course any part of the beach can be a hazard. Any part of the beach can be done safely too is my point.

Just don't bring valuables to the beach lmao. Do you know who goes to the beach in zona sul? Poor people who live outside of zona sul. Rich Brazilians who live in Zona Sul (people who wouldn't be motivated to steal from your gringo ass) Go to the club and travel for the beach.
All the girls on this site are smoking. The going rate when I messaged one of the ladies was 400/ h. Is there any idea of what per noite is? Does it ever get cheaper than 400, just curious. These are great pieces of ass it seems.
Here's another site that's good:

I actually know 2 on this site Yoko and Maite.
Yoko is in my video from 2018 trip she is in the last 60 seconds of the video the last girl.
I'm from the USA. I've read that I only need my passport, and proof of insurance. Just wondering if there's anything else I might need.I don't know if the US is different. If you've read the rules, and it says only travel insurance for duration of your stay, like it did for me. In a safezone Europe country, there were no issues at any airports. They check your insurance at every airlines terminal / connection. Have it printed out. Easy peasy.

I have heard that a new pub / restaurant Angelina has just open close to Mabs, do you have any information? Is it another Mabs concept or just a restaurant?
Do you know who goes to the beach in zona sul? Poor people who live outside of zona sul.
Only poor people who live outside of zona sul that goes to the Zona Sul beaches? That was a funny statement. Rich and poor goes to the Zona Sul beaches. In Leme, Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon people have their favourite part of the beaches. Surfers, fishermen, dog-owners, gays, marijuanasmokers, beachtennis-players, futevôlei-players, the young/chique, the mineiro-tourists arriving by bus, the homeless, the putas, all have their part of the beach. Beside those groups, the cariocas are spread out along the beach.
The locals have their favourite spot, and they always come down to the same spot. The locals that live in the Zona Sul favelas have their spots as well. The povão from the Zona Norte favelas and suburbanos are mostly found on the part of the beaches close to the metro stations or at Arpoador, as several buses from Zona Norte have their final stop at Arpoador.
The locals bring just what they need to the beach. The ones who are foolish and bring fancy cameras etc are tourists. Thieves stroll along the beaches and scan people to find victims. It can happen everywhere. When going for a swim people ask the neighbour to watch their stuff. Not complicated at all.
P.S Don't make fake quotes.

These are great pieces of ass it seems. These girls are independent escorts so they can do anything they want. I use these sites through the years, if you get to know them a little anything is possible. Usually the first time you meet them you pay the going rate, then maybe 2 days later she texts you to say Hello, and see how you're doing, this is good as she is looking for business. If she lives close by it's a good time to negotiate extra time and less money, like 300 for 2 hours.
Also many times if I like them after we first met I'll ask them if they would like to go to a swing club some night, most say yes. Usually we go to dinner then hit the club about midnight, sometimes we switch with other couples and have a fun night out. After the night is over and leave the club say 3 or 4 in the morning many of these girls want to come up to my room. They take a shower then crawl in bed with me to finish me off. In dollars I would say this night out with her has always been around the $125 range.
And after you know them and they're not busy they're at your disposal for anything.

So Thursday, Midori refuses to fuck for the 3 d time in a day, and Vagabundo promptly pays her for 1.5 days, instead of 2 pernoites, ubers her back to zona norte, picks up another negra, bangs Monique three pops, and then three more Friday.
Oh, I got a message from a new guy. Here was my reply. I include a number for the landlord. I really, really recommend Transamerica, especially for veterans, but also for new people. This place has the best chicks in Brazil, not just Rio.
I suggest you stay at Trasnamerica. The hottest women in Brazil, not just rio, are at the pool, lobby, and elevators daily.
The number for my landlord is ney.
Let me know when you get here. I will show you around.
I'm from the USA. I've read that I only need my passport, and proof of insurance. Just wondering if there's anything else I might need. You should be good to go as visas are no longer necessary to enter Brazil for US citizens. You just need to make sure that your insurance is valid IN Brazil and covers COVID-19 for the duration of your stay with minimum coverage of $30,000 Brazilian reais.

Across from mabs, probably.
But the best ho beaches to be had are in buzios, cabo frio.
Those are the ones with the ninfetas, the 18 just barely local girls who need to be broken into the ways of the world.
I have a friend, a real friend who looked after my speaker for 3 years and gave it back to me, who is here. He supplies my pharmaceutical supplies including THC. We used to go to ipanema as a prime spot. I've gone to ipanema again with fuckamefdig, a real friend too. Ipanema is hard to beat. It has it all, all the sub genre that sperto so expertly delineated.

.I have been to buzios, cab frio and arraial countless times, I've never seen a working girl section!! If you are lucky, you might meet a waiter or hotel worker who can call a girl for you. Please explain this best hoe beach that you know of. (unless you are being sarcastic).

I have also been to Buzios and Cabo Frio numerous times. I never got the impression that WGs were available.Yeah, I always read / heard about mongers taking buceta with them to Buzios if they wanted some while there since supposedly none for the easy taking was to be found anywhere, including at the beach.
I've stayed at Porto Bay and ordered a girl around 5 PM. Front desk called and asked if it was ok to send her up. No charges or extra registration hassle on my end.
The balcony isn't very private, you can easily see your neighbors and they can see you but at the right time of night its possible.Years ago I had major issues with Porto bay. Was traveling with my then fiancé who was not Brazilian but was darker skin Latina. On our way back to the room one night security tried to stop me. I got in elevator and said don't play around with me. He demanded she go to desk to show ID and I said she was registered with me and gave room number. He refused. Pulled me out of elevator.
Next day I demand to speak to manager. Explained the situation, pointed to rock on her left hand and said his security guy ruined her trip. He was cool. Said nothing he could do would compensate. I had already booked another stay two weeks later and told him, if I could, I would cancel. He sent up champagne and tray of fruits.
When we returned, he upgraded to suite with a nice view and again champagne. I forgave them. Stuff happens but how you handle can save a customer.
Yeah, I always read / heard about mongers taking buceta with them to Buzios if they wanted some while there since supposedly none for the easy taking was to be found anywhere, including at the beach.True, been to Buzios several times, and no local "scene" exists there AFAIK, but fatalmodels.com can help. I used them in Paraty this winter -- no drama and good service. What I like about that site is that they pose with an ID number that must correspond to the number on the background. Makes sure you're getting a girl in the pic.
Used to be Posto 6 by Meia Pataca. Is it still this way? The chair guys knew the working girls and would direct them your way while trying to work a tip.Haha, good ol' Ho Beach. All you had to do was smile at a sexy girl on the beach. If she wouldn't stop smiling at you, she was definitely available for some Reais. You could get her phone number and if your room was nearby an afternoon session was also possible.

In Buzios, yes, it is BYOH, but the Ho usually has friends, and those are the ninfetas of which I speak. Ninfetas are teens (over 18), new and eager to get into the biz.
Yesterday, I showed around a ISG member. First we met up at Club 31, (Rua Alcatara Machado 31). There were 4 girls, with which we talked. I got a number. Cover was 10 r per head.
Then we went to 65. There were 10 or so. Quality was good. I got 2 numbers. Some hot morena was walking into the boate as we were exiting. My wingman wanted to hot morena, but she was already gone by the time we got back up to the boate. The cover was 70 r per head.
We went back to Copacobana, had dinner at a seafood place, Principe de Monaco, at Miguel Lemos 18.
Then we went to Solarium after a break for some work at his hotel.
At solarium, I got at least 4 numbers. The cover was 120 r. The standards are high, but I can't say they are necessarily high in the sack, where it counts. My view is that Exec Talent is right that the best talent in the sack is to be had from the prives, where one should make an appointment for 30 minutes, get the number then go for the mini relationship.
Then we went to Mosaico. Cover was 30 r, which covers at least 2 drinks. I got 3 numbers.
Then we broke for the night, a good basic recce of the Rio termas from the low end dark side to the high end Solarium to Mosaico, even with a quick walk through of VM all included. How's that for a leader's recon in Rio?

Few more weeks until wheels up, and over the last 30 days I've done so much reading and researching.
Help is needed though: Can someone tell me how Termas actually work? We plan on doing a lot terma hopping to find out what's best for us.
I don't want to get ripped off, so any help on the etiquette?
From my understanding. Walk in pay cover, go to locker room, find a place to chill, order some drinks, call a girl over? If the vibe is good get a room. Pay all fees when you leave?
Can you negotiate? Or is there a menu?
Also are strip clubs worth a visit?
Excited to try: Montecarlo, solarium, 65, Centaurus.
Appreciate any info.

It is fixed pricing and you can ask the girl what you want before picking them for the session.
From my experience, most of girls would do anal, BBJ and CIM without any extra fees.

From my experience, most of girls would do anal, BBJ and CIM without any extra fees. That's the great thing about Termas. The prices are all laid out for you. You don't even bring your wallet / cash into the boate. Though if you're hanging around with one particular girl for an extended period of time, you should buy her a drink (on your tab).

Though if you're hanging around with one particular girl for an extended period of time, you should buy her a drink (on your tab). And the other great thing is that the price includes everything. I mean, there's nothing extra for anal or cum in mouth, etc. You just have to make sure the girl does what you want, and it will all be a part of the published pricing. I learned since before my first trip to ask the girl if she's "completa". If she says yes, then you know anal sex and cum in her lips will all be a part of the session, and no need to ante up more cash for those things.

Are you allowed to take your phone's into termas or do you have to leave them in a locker?
Google translate would come in handy for idiots like me who struggle to pick up new languages.I have routinely taken a smart phone into all termas and boites no problem, and I have used my phone out in the open too, and again no problems. Just don't be taking pictures and you're fine. Save the picture taking for when you're in the room (but ask the girl before you go to make sure she's cool).
Are you allowed to take your phone's into termas or do you have to leave them in a locker?
Google translate would come in handy for idiots like me who struggle to pick up new languages.Yes, you can take your phone in (the robes usually have pockets). And if you have an especially good session with a girl, you might want her # to arrange something outside of work.

Seconded. SW'ers are excellent. You can chat them up, see how receptive they are, see whether there is chemistry, see what they look like in person, negotiate on price, get a great deal, and also maybe there are fresh meat and new to the scene!I like the idea of a more "normal" meeting on the beach instead of ordering a girl online like a pizza. However is bargaining a good idea? Won't she resent getting a lower price and therefore give worse service? 100 to 200 reals sounds pretty low anyway by developed countries' standards. How much lower can you go? 25 reals lower?
I was in Mexico City a few years ago and I actually met a prostitute online and after a little chatting using Google translate she agreed to meet for free. I think that she was interested in the tall, slim white American man idea. Mexico City is not a tourist mecca.
On another topic, how much of European / North American tourist crowd is back in Rio at this point? 10%? 25%?
As a newbie and having a trip to Brazil booked. What are some phrases I should search in this thread?
Not a newbie to South America, just Brazil.

For 100 real, take your shot in Centro massage places.I get that. Everything is not for everybody. I always have a great time when I use the site. I speak the language, I am a people person, and I always go to where they are. If you are waiting for someone to deliver perfection to your front door, then I do not know about that. I tend to make my own perfection. That was my purpose for learning the languages of the places I frequent. Totally different ballgame.
Using that site was my worst experience in Rio.
For 100 real, take your shot in Centro massage places.I've mostly had pleasant experiences using the site, sometimes there are multiple girls working behind one profile so it can be hit and miss, but that's how it goes with the internet. I've only walked once and for the price, even if the girl is not what you expected the service can still be great.
You can use one of the local forums such as gparena to get a locals perspective and visit well revised girls, it needs a bit of time but does pay off.
For me the best service is in el Centro, so you have to be willing to leave Copa.

Hey folks,
Just booked at the Pestana for next month (mid month for 2 weeks) after reading some recommendations here on this page and I just wanted to advise people that if they intend on doing the same to try the Pestana group's home page first. I know people typically will swear by hotels.com or agoda or whatever, but no matter what discount hotel site I checked, it was always like $10-30 more a night on the suites. You're probably fine for the standard rooms, but if you do the Pestana group membership deal (it's free), you can get 10% off the entire stay. If you book with the Pestana site itself you also get the free cancellation until day of and charge on check in, which was really important to me giving these crazy covid times.
Anywho, I'm normally lurking over in the Bangkok forum since I'm there like once a year (I've posted a few reports), but I'm looking forward to posting something interesting over here for once rather than just reading this thread all the time and getting really bloody jealous. I know some of you regulars haven't made the trip recently because of the crazy times so let me know if there's some place I should check out and maybe share some updated information. I have no intention of checking night clubs or trawling different beaches, but if there are bars / brothels / massage parlors / etc ya think I should swing by and report on, let me know. I finally figured out the freaking bitcoin thing to get a membership again so you can PM me if need be. I tend to spend too much money on these trips so higher end locations / girls aren't really an issue.
I haven't been out of this bloody country for over a year now and it was making me beyond restless, so I'm hoping this will be fun for my first Brazil trip. Going to have to learn some basic Portuguese pickup lines.

I took at break from banging. Four-Five days.
I've been down here since mid March, and I found the break good to kind of think by myself. All these pernoites (I'm getting exactly what I want, on my terms) come with the constant Portuguese chattering. But they are women I like so it can't be all bad.
On the plus side, I am making new friends from ISG. I won't mention the new wingman who messaged me, as he doesn't post.
The first rule of fight club, is we don't talk about fight club.
Obviously, this biz is driven by money. Money is driven by law, and that in turn is driven by perceptions of risk, mainly this year, the virus.
My view in March was this was overblown, and that health comes from exercise and diet.
But that was a kind of out of the norm assumption.
Now I am seeing the top tier talent making up for lost time.
Monger On fellas.
Hey folks,

As a newbie and having a trip to Brazil booked. What are some phrases I should search in this thread?
Not a newbie to South America, just Brazil.I would suggest using google translate right now and just type in typical words for a conversation with a working girl and practice what comes back. For example a simple conversation would be: Hello my name is Roberto, nice to meet you, I'm from Beverly Hills and I came here to meet a beautiful girl like you. Then I would learn phrases like how much and the various numbers like 400 reais and that's too much then learn what you are willing to spend for an hour like 350 or 300 or 200. Get some basics.
Hey folks,
Just booked at the Pestana for next month (mid month for 2 weeks) after reading some recommendations here on this page and I just wanted to advise people that if they intend on doing the same to try the Pestana group's home page first. .This is a good thing you're doing your research, I will tell you that yes at times the Pestana home page will offer better deals than the hotel sites and sometimes they won't so you caught them at a good time. I have booked in both Pestana site and Hotels.com and always choose the best rate but for hotels.com if you are a member of the loyalty program they give you better prices and offer many deals like when you book 10 days you get one free and recently they extended it to book 5 days and get one free, it just depends on your timing but sounds like you did great. You won't be disappointed, it's a modern hotel probably about 25 years old but needs some sprucing up, no big deal as I have said before but the people who work there are great and understand what you're doing, they don't judge and are very business like. Have fun!

Rio Bob was there to greet the Portuguese when they first arrived in Rio, so his advice is the gold standard.

I'd never heard of BACC before. Can always learn something new! Can you use your miles on BACC to book flights?BACC from what I understand is a consolidator, they may buy blocks of seats on the cheap from the airlines and then they are able to sell at a discount. They primarily deal only in Brazil, the owner has offices in Rio, New York and Newark New Jersey, he primarily deals with a Brazilian clientele. I used to use them many years ago but now I like to play with my miles and you can't do that with them. I don't know how many times I've been asked if I knew the owner by Brazilians in Rio, apparently he is well known and liked and puts on the Brazilian day festival once a year in New York around Brazil street, it's a big deal.
LOL I don’t remember recommending BACC travel in the past as our esteemed member ET states but I might have but if he was trying to get me he might have mentioned my recommendation of gringomanagent many years ago lol.

That effort should be supported and appreciated.
Thank you for your many valuable contributions over the years.

Come on Cane, you're suppose to be a seasoned traveler.I am a seasoned traveler who has been to over 50 countries. But never used a consolidator (and did not know that this company was one). So stuff it pal.

Can I use my miles at Solarium or Monte Carlo? ;)
Come on Cane, you're suppose to be a seasoned traveler.I remember 10+ years back a terma started, or tried to start, or at least announced their own frequent-fucking program. No, don't remember which one and don't know if anything came out of it (think not), but I saw a flyer. So there's that, LOL.

I get free entrance all the time at Solarium because of it. Just ask them to register your name and your fingerprint. I think you have to spend $700 R (it may have gone up I can't recall) on a visit to get free entrance on the next visit.

But I thought it's long gone anyway, would've saved a few bucks over the years.
I've used BACC for years and continue to use them for flights to Brazil. Their flights are always much cheaper ($100-$200) than booking directly through the airlines or using airfare search engines like Kayak or Google Flights.I'm thinking about taking a trip to Rio. Checked BACC's website, it redirects you to clickandfly to buy tickets online. The pricing was okay, but Skyscanner and Momondo had cheaper flights, one was $150 less but 20 hours longer LOL. Maybe if you call Bacc their rates are better?
If you have Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire, they'll match the lowest airfare you find and you can use your Amex or Chase points. You could also transfer your points for miles but you'd be paying the airlines rate. Sometimes the points to miles conversion works out in your favor though. Unfortunately, not too often.

Although, 4 x 4's fuck before 4 discount was nice too.

I'm scheduled to arrive in Rio in two weeks (unless work prevents me) and my ticket through BACC was $740 round trip from DC.

So, it's. What. Wednesday or so, maybe Thursday, yeah Thursday, and Vagabundo, who has reached true John Belushi / Bill Murray / Dan Akroyd levels of zen enlightenment, is sitting in his rack ie bed in Transamerica.
One of Vagabundo's regular's is hitting him up on Whatsapp. We shall designate this asset callsign NINA Deponca, who for we porn lovers is one of John Buttman Stagliano's early porn stars, who as a Mulatta in truth, a Porto Rican girl, is still doable in her 50's. Vagabundo would hit it, if Nina Deponca came up to Vagabundo at the Vegas convention and said, here's the room number to my suite in Hard Rock Hotel, I need you to slide your linguica into my well lubed anal passage, and you can bust a nut in my vag or my ass, and I will suck your cock all night long as your sex slave. Yeah, Vagabundo never has those fantasies. Not. So, anyway, Nina Deponca comes on to Vagabundo, and Vagabundo gives Nina Deponca a green light to come over to Transamerica for a pernoite (paying 400 r, which at USD BRL 5. 5 is what, 72 dollars.
Anyway, here's how a pernoite order should be trained to and is now perceived by Nina Deponca, who is actually a 29 yo ex prive girl who has been a go to girl for Vagabundo for 5+ years.
She comes over by city bus. She does NOT ask for, expect, or demand, request, beg for a Uber. She WALKS her ass from the bus stop which is Barra Garden shopping, BTW, to the front desk of Transamerica, where she calls or has the front desk call for Vagabundo Buttman Vagabundo is a buttman, of course, and in fact was advogado for THE buttman, but that's different story, perhaps chapter, kkk which means hahah in Brazilian. Vagabundo authorizes her to come up to his place. This is a MAJOR MAJOR point. Not only does Vagabundo not need to come down to let the ***** up, he just gets a no cost call and then authorizes her to come up. She knocks.
BTW, now Nina Deponca is trained to answer the phone and the door for entregas, ie, Uber eats. That means, Vagabundo, our hero sits in his huge double double California king size bed, and Nina Deponca just lets in the sushi guy. Another plus sign.
Vagabundo has sdds short for saudades for MIDORI, who may be given some kind of second chance, now that Vabagundo has disciplined the *****. Listen men, You have to be the dominant. If not, don't go to Brazil, just sit at home in the rich world and order a fleshlight.
OK, so NINA DEPONCA comes up, what is it 5 . Actually 3 or 4 PM. Short story, 2-3 orgasms + good deep tissue massage BEFORE bed / sleep, plus an entrega usually 50-150 reais, best local joint for fish is hula hula, which is also a good spot to go and have a dinner and drinks at night.
We watch our favorite porn. She likes BDSM porn like kink.com, but of course, we go with evilangel.com as well, and of course xvideos.
All BBFS, etc.
Then we sleep. The microfiber blankie you can buy on the street at Copa is worth it and nice. The prices are always 80% lower at Metro Uruguiana / Central.
Then we get up, and 2-3 orgasms in the morning, which stretches these days to noonish - 14 h.
Then we go to Barra Garden Shopping bus stop and get a bus 7. 1 reais per person, and generously, Vagabundo pays for both). We take the bus to Duque de Caixis. This is a point of friction as Vagabundo, our hero, would prefer to take the free luxury bus that comes with Transamerica from Av Gastao Senges 185 to Metro Cinelandia (actually to the Bedouin restaurante next to the US Consulate, but close enough. The city bus goes by shit creek inland waters of Guanabara bay, which is kind of like the pussy of Rio, Brazil, if you will, geographically, and smells about as good as if a. Well, I won't go there.
But we get to mother fucking god damn Duque de Caixis. Which I switching now to first person narration for my epic 2 day ramble on kind of like.
We get off at the bus stop next to the super via stop.
I've been there so many times it is kind of familiar.
We duck into a Ousada store where I have them reset my watch which I bought there to the correct time, and I buy some underwear.
Then we have lunch at a buffet a kilo.
NINA DEPONCA is kind of a Rio Wife #3, which is nice. She tries to have me eat healthy.
Then we walk across the bridge over the super via trem and while she shops, I go into a boate. I get some numbers. They are asking 150r for a 1 h program, which is clearly a gringo price.
Then we walk over to the shopping mall with the McDonalds and Prezunic. There is another boate there. I get numbers there. She is kind of my wingman. She wants me to breed her for the various benefits. But she knows I am a working girl monger. In fact, when we say our grace prayer before we eat I forget to say her real name and use her working girl name, which gets a dirty look, but close to a laugh because she has been a doubles partner for so many three ways that she can hardly think of me as a good Christian husband, which is kind of a joke.
She offers to help get younger local girls, and that's about as good as it gets.
But, I've blown 3 loads already, so I am not that hungry.
I get on a city bus near the McDonalds in Duque de Caixis (BTW, I don't recommend this for newbies, and that is not at all condescending, rather just a wish that you don't get assaulted).
The bus is for centro.
I enjoy the ride, which I 've done often now.
It goes south by GIG airport, which tells you how far north Duque de Caixis is.
So. Then. We -- actually I -- get of at Central Metro station. I love walking through the various city shops.
I go from Central towards Club 31. This is what we call "the dark side" ie, North of Av Pres. Vargas. Along the way I go to a "secret" boate (it is "secret" because my wingman ISG Fuckamefdig has so requested.
I drop in to the "secret" Boate.
I get numbers. It is only 3-4 pm. There is no cover. I get numbers with no problem. The best girls there are solid, and I mean solid, 8-9's on a scale of 10 NEGRAS NEGRAS NEGRAS. For those of us who love black women, we know the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice, and the younger the better.
By those standards, a 18 year old Monique / MIDORI / ANA Foxxx would be the queen of all my dreams of Ramble On fame (see below). I found such a negra, got her number.
Then I continued on to Hotel Atlantico, which is Rua de Inhuama 95.
Now here's the key, men.
You have to take care of the 6 s's (shit, shower shave supper sex sleep.
At Hotel A you can cover all of the above. You can -- and I did -- just infil that is sneak the fuck in the swimming pool, which is on the roof, on the 18th floor.
You just get the fuck on the elevator.
You go up to 18.
You walk into the pool like a fucking boss.
Clean your dirty crack.
And at the same time I got a number of THE best negra. Huge tits. From Petropolis. In school to be a doctor. Actually upon closer recon of her FB, I found odontological institute, and that she has a kid.
But the technique is simple.
Hi, can you take a picture of me on my phone?
He does.
Then. Small talk. What's your number?
She says, I have a boyfriend.
I say, I am a professional insert. BTW you might want to take surgical scrubs to appear as a doctor, just saying. , and I have a girlfriend too, and I just want your contact for professional reasons.
She gives number.
I hit on her.
Anyway, then I hit up ISG Fuckamefdig, who as I mentioned is the world's best wingman at the moment (by the way Jimmyboy99 is in the hall of fame of best wingman, and he recommended the Hotel A).
So, the negra is not responding to my messages suggesting that I breed her and her sista (literally her sista). I also got a number from some carioca with huge tatas on the elevator.
ISG Fuckamefdig says yep, lets meet at Club 31.
We do in fact meet up at club 31.
Then we go up, and after less than 10 minutes we leave. I got a number of a Morena Clara Falsa Magra.
Then we go to "secret" boates (they are side by side, another clue, haha.
Then we go up to just the quieter of the sister clubs.
I find a super hot negra, get her number first of course. Even though she has 3 kids, I pull the trigger because my wingman has found a morena, and is doing a programa.
It is 140 r for the hour.
My cabin has a real mattress, but is more of a box mattress, and a shower.
I like my little negra, I will call her Noemie Bilas 2 which will confuse me because Monique as I mentioned has become kind of Noemie Bilas 1 as her hips have widened over the last 5 years.
OK, so, the session is good. I fuck her twice. I bring my choice of local condoms (SKYN brand), which I carry in my little waist pack, bought at REI in the rich world.
It is all covered.
So, a good time is had. Then ISG Fuckamefdig and I head back to Copa. I try to link up with another ISG buddy who is a solid man, who left Saturday night back for the rich world.
I get back to transamerica in my Uber. I am a little tired. I need to hydrate more, lose weight, work out more, etc. I guess I was a little paranoid this past week as the president of the united states had been diagnosed with Covid. But, health is a result of diet and exercise, and I have kind of come through this minor paranoia by just doing it.
All is well.
When you get to rio, hit me up.
Below are two great epic poems of our craft, which, we few, we happy few, we mongering hobbyists know well. Whoring in Rio is its own reward.
Leaves are falling all around.
It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you I'm much obliged.
For such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go.
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain.
And with it pain.
And it's headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired.
But I know I've got one thing I got to do.
Ramble on.
And now's the time, the time is now.
To sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl.
On my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day.
Ramble on.
Got to find the queen of all my dreams.
Got no time for spreadin' roots.
The time has come to be gone.
And though our health we drank a thousand times.
It's time to ramble on.
Ramble on.
And now's the time, the time is now.
To sing my song.
I'm going 'round the world, I got to find my girl.
On my way.
All the late night bargains have been struck.
Between the satin beaus and their belles.
Prehistoric garbage trucks.
Have the city to themselves.
Echoes roars dinosaurs.
They're all doing the monster mash.
And most of the taxis, most of the working girls.
Are only taking calls for cash.
I don't know how it happened.
It all took place so quick.
But all I can do is hand it to you.
And your latest trick.
Well now my door was standing open.
Security were laid back and lax.
But it was only my heart that got broken.
You must have had a pass key made out of wax.
You played robbery with insolence.
And I played the blues in twelve bars down Lover's Lane.
And you never did have the intelligence to use.
The twelve keys hanging off from my chain.
I don't know how it happened.
It all took place so quick.
But all I can do is hand it to you.
And your latest trick.
Now it's past last call for alcohol.
Past recall has been here and gone.
The landlord he finally paid us all.
The satin jazzmen have put away their horns.
And we're standing outside of this wonderland.
Looking so bereaved and so bereft.
Like a bowery bum when he finally understands.
The bottle's empty and there's nothing left.
I don't know how it happened.
It was faster than the eye could flick.
But all I can do is hand it to you.
And your latest trick.
So, it's. What. Wednesday or so, maybe Thursday, yeah Thursday, and Vagabundo, who has reached true John Belushi / Bill Murray / Dan Akroyd levels of zen enlightenment, is sitting in his rack ie bed in Transamerica.Vagabundo is feeling good again! He's feeling good! He's feeling it! Vagabundo is up in here rhyming again LOLOLOL! But hey, stop referring to yourself in the third person will you? That annoys a certain member here hahaha!

Hello everyone,
This coming November will be my first time visiting Brazil. My trip will be for a total of 12 days split evenly between Rio and Floripa. I'll be going there with 5 friends, one of which is from Brazil. There are a few questions that I have and it would be great to hear and advice of recommendations about the areas and activities that are available.
I'll be staying in the Leblon area while in Brazil. With all the lurking that I have done on this forum I have seen little to no information regarding the mongering in this area. Everything is focused on Copa, Central and now in Jardins (Transamerica). Is Leblon Stale with the mongering? Will be be required to Uber to all the hotspots?
All the prives that I've looked up have good looking massage therapist, but they mention that it is solely for therapeutic services. Is this true? I was under the impression that there are extras to be had at these establishments. Especially the ones that are located in the Central area. Am I missing something?
There are many escort sites that I've been checking out where the escorts have a location. How is the security at these locations if we were to go to their location? Has anyone had and sketchy situations visiting an escort at their location rather than them coming to your hotel? Many of the high end escorts that I've seen are operating from Transamerica. It looks to be a trek to make it out there for just an hour or so. Is this a hard location to get to from Leblon? I'm leaning toward having them come to my hotel even if they are going to charge the time / uber fee to come to me. I believe that the hotel that I'm staying at is not guest friendly so I will have to use the Love Hotels.
We are looking to hang out at the beach during the day, visit the sites, get a massage in the afternoon and monger at night. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Epic report!
I tried to book Transamerica but to no avail as there is no vacancy during my upcoming dates. What's the place like and.
Can one just show up to the libby and inquire about rooms as it seems it harbors a boatload of poonannie!
Ever consider a weekly newbie barhop and info session as you could sure supplement your peronites!
Looking forward to your next submission and tips for the chocolate joints.

Saw that Dolce Vita recently opened. My 1st trip is in 12 days, so this is good news for me. I prefer the club scene to pick up girls.
Anyone with experience with Dolce? Do freelancers usually head there at night?

We are looking to hang out at the beach during the day, visit the sites, get a massage in the afternoon and monger at night. Any advice would be much appreciated.Leblon is a high end residential neighborhood, there are a lot of bars and restaurants packed with locals but no mongering at all.
In my opinion an escort should come to you, yes some girls say they have a place to go to if you want but that's good for married guys. Rtff here vagabundo posts he talks all about the transamerica.
What sites are you looking at for escorts? If you have to go to them then it's no longer an escort, it's a casa and you don't know what you'll get when you get there. It might be ok but if not you could just be spending a lot of time and money going from place to place.
If your hotel is not girl friendly and you should ask, your mongering trip will be limited. Your question about safety, it depends where the place is, sounds like transamerica is very safe.

I'll contact the hotel to see if they allow guest or if they will charge an additional fee.
The sites that I have looked at for the escorts are BarraVIP, Hotside and Twitter. I have reached out to a few on Hotside using WhatsApp and the prices were around are $500/ HR. I was interested to see if full or half day options were available and have received mixed results for the escorts. The women on Twitter have been more receptive to the idea. Seems like there are more semi pros on Twitter that would be willing to spend more time off the clock if they are being entertained and fed. If someone could share their experience with Twitter or Tinder that would be appreciated.
At the end of the day I'm just trying to have a great and safe time out there in Rio. From all the posts it sounds like it will be hard not to.

Will be be required to Uber to all the hotspots?Leblon is a nice area, IF interested the closest Termas is Centaurus (http://www.centaurustermas.com/contate-nos) which is approx. A 34 minute walk depending on your exact location. Then there is Copa and all the rest of Rio which you will either be using Uber or Metro-Subway to get around.

There are not any formal mongering locations in Leblon but plenty informal ones.
https://shoppingleblon.com.br/ is worth a walk about.
In Rio attractive young women are always looking for a bank (sugar daddy). Leblon is a good place to find one.
Be obviously unattached and casual. There are many places to eat, sit, hang. Do not scope, you will just look like a desperate monger. They will find you.
Leblon is a fine area. A small canal separates Leblon from Ipanema. I've gone in and out of Leblon a few times to hang out with local friends. I hardly notice I have left Ipanema. As far as important details:
- LT's generally a family-oriented beach. The more fun Postos (lifeguard stations) are further east in Copa and Ipanema.
- While you can walk or cab to Centaurus, Solarium a better termas is just a short ways on the other side of the small lake.
- You should have easy access to Copa and Centro by way of cab or metro.
It's not foreign mongers first choice for areas to stay, but it can work. We don't know what is important to you. If you want a short walk to a lot of things and be in the center of some action, you probably don't want to be staying in Leblon. It is on the periphery of the action.

The hotel that we are staying at the first 2 nights is Praia Ipanema Hotel. I'll have to check and see if they are guest friendly. It looks to be walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Leblon.
Saw that Dolce Vita recently opened. My 1st trip is in 12 days, so this is good news for me. I prefer the club scene to pick up girls.
Anyone with experience with Dolce? Do freelancers usually head there at night? My experience there is it's only freelancers, the place gets going late, you'll find some nice girls there.
The sites that I have looked at for the escorts are BarraVIP, Hotside and Twitter. I have reached out to a few on Hotside using WhatsApp and the prices were around are $500/ HR. I was interested to see if full or half day options were available and have received mixed results for the escorts.
.Barra and hotside are 2 good sites, you can't go wrong here. I've taken girls from these sites out for the evening, they're independent so they can do whatever they want.

Did you have to buy a 2 drink minimum? I checked the Google reviews for Dolce and they said drinks are like 100 real LOL let me know if that's true.
Wasup brothers hopped on https://www.photoacompanhantes.com/.
And smashed a cute girl with a phat ass for 100 real no lie. That's $18 USA! And it was pretty good.

I don't remember a 2 drink minimum but there is an entrance fee. For sure it's not a cheap place.Saw their Instagram page. Says drinks are 10 reais and it was free before 11. This was a Friday night promo. Not sure if its like this everyday but I'm sure since they are reopening and not as many tourists. They will need to be creative.

I got a date with a regular girl I met on bumble. I'm only 31 I can pull a little bit but I deal with the pros too because sometimes normal dating be taking too damn long when the shorty can't meet for 3 days and then she doesn't want to smash the first night so you have to wait for the second date. Sometimes it be taking a whole week to smash a regular good girl. But I do both normal girls and pros depending on the situation.

Is there a reason you picked Leblon? I wouldn't stay in Leblon for the first time visit. I stayed there at Sheraton once, and it would take the hotel shuttle an hour to get to Arpaodor, which is between Ipanema and Copacabana. Hell, it took us 40 minutes to get through the tunnel once.
Might not be an issue now with COVID and lighter traffic, but I think you'll miss out staying away from Copacabana during your first visit to Rio unless you really want some quiet fun.

I know meeting the Pattaya vets on Soi 6 back in the day helped a me a ton and I now help foster rookies there and look forward to meeting and gaining a fraction of your Rio Epicness bruh.
I will just book a few weeks in Copacabana and see if I can get a few nights at the Transamerica, if even for just a second room option when there.
I'm liking the Photoacomphantes site over the others even if it's hit or miss but maybe some success will come out of that site.
Will pm the Whatsapp when arrived and phone bought.
Thanks again King V of chocolate poonanie.

Our hotel is on the first block of the canal separating Ipanema and Leblon so we are not in the dead center of Leblon, which might make things easier getting in and out.
I'm definitely going to try and visit Transamerica's pool scene and see all the hype.
Was doing a porn search on Chrome and came across this. Is Joyce Oliveira dead? I remember when she worked at 4 x 4 in '04-'06.

You will take that information and make your own decision. Leblon is certainly doable with short cab / uber rides. I myself am a beach person, I like to walk there and spend most of my beach time at Posto 5 (Copa) or between Posto 9 and 10 (Ipanema).
You might explore with your friend from the area why he prefers Leblon. If he is fluent in Portuguese, he might like hanging out at the bars and cafes in the area. It's very nice for fairly affluent locals. I don't know your age or your game. A lot of guys think they can pick-up locals. On a short mongering trip, it's usually not the best use of time. If the opportunity presents itself to hit up a local, certainly go for it.

Is Joyce Oliveira dead?If she is alive and kicking, she is now almost 50 years old (and still likely hot LOL).
My guess is that she is not alive, considering someone took the time to make a tribute video to her.

Rio Brazil and Medellin Colombia are top on my checklist.
And agreed. You have to mix pros with non-pros because time is limited.
I'm planning my next trip and I'm thinking about Rio. My idea is to spend 2 weeks in Rio. One in Copacabana and I'm wondering what other part of the city is best for nightlife (both girls and places to go like bars, coffee shops, etc.). I read that Lapa is a very nice part of the city but wondering what is your opinion and what are your recommendations? Thanks Rio experts!
BTW I`m planning to search for semi-pro and non-pro on tinder and other social media. Spend some time exploring bars and beaches, spend some more time enjoying ourselves at the apartment that I rent on airbnb. This is the idea - no streetwalkers, no visiting the brothels (the casas or whatever they are called in Rio).

You are limited to a handful of bars with girls.
Not using privates or casas cuts out a lot of good options.
I had no luck online, but I'm older and no Adonis. Competing with locals is difficult because many local guys there are very very well toned, if not in shape you will soon pop your shirt back on around the beach LOL.
I would suggest booking Copa and get the train / taxi to lapa and having a look around, it's difficult to know what other people are comfortable with. I didn't see many tourists hanging around lapa.
I'm no expert in Rio and others may have different opinions.

This is the idea - no streetwalkers, no visiting the brothels (the casas or whatever they are called in Rio).Lapa has a good civilian bar scene. Friday night street party was a big night there. (Could be different under COVID.) It centered around Ave. Mem de Sá and the famous Arcos (arches). I don't know if I would say it's a very nice part of the city. I remember it as your typical urban area near the center. I wouldn't recommend staying there. Following on a recent conversation, Leblon is near Copacabana. It's a nice area and they have some good civilian bars.
You might notice I'm using the term civilian bars here. I wouldn't run around town with the sole purpose of picking up amateurs. First, Rio de Janeiro is a fairly prosperous cities. It's not like some third world countries where picking up semi-pros is commonplace for Americans and Europeans with some money. Second, Rio is a major tourist destination. Cariocas (Rio women) are generally unimpressed by tourists. If you aren't fluent in Portuguese picking up amateurs will be even more challenging.
Now two weeks is a good amount of time to try your game out in Rio. I wouldn't be too quick to rule out hooker bars (they tend to be in Copa) or even any of the "pro" establishments around town. If you think you are scoring quickly with a Carioca from Tinder, money will likely be expected and that really makes her a pro.
I don't want to discourage you, but I think we want to set realistic expectations. I would advise a week in Copacabana and a week in Ipanema. Or just stay in one place and get comfortable.

Hello to all the fellow mongers,
Who have been impacted by the current pandemic situation and may have readjusted or even cancelled their upcoming vacations. But personally, I could have not resisted myself no more as this Brazilian trip has been long overdue. With tickets being cheaper than anytime in the past decade and the massive decline of the BRL, it only make sense to enjoy this time to forget about all the problems elsewhere. My trip was cancelled in May but will be going in by the end of the year. I've made what I think is a perfect plan for a fellow monger entering Brazil for the first time but it'll be up to the veterans like WyattEarp, The Cane, Steve9696 and Co. To confirm it.
-Planning to go to Rio for 3 nights and Sao Paulo for another 4. Trying to enjoy a little of all good things in Brazil.
-Have booked a hotel near Copa, walking distance to the beach and close to the remaining quality termas. I have been in contact with some of the girls via twitter and will be meeting a few in my room. Agency's like barravips are also an option with some claiming that the girls speak intermediate to fluid English but based on previous posts I can't imagine that to be true, especially for the younger ones. However, just the hotel room will be a waste of a trip and the likes of Monte Carlo, Centaurus and Solarium would be part of the nightly plans.
The girls that I've already confirmed with are looking for 400-500 per hour and if anyone is interested in my type of acompanhantes, lookup patiferraz1 on twitter who also speaks fluent English. I'm currently learning the basics and comfortable in spanish, but my two travelling partners don't have a clue about either, hence why the just want to stick to bringing acompanhantes to the hotel which is boring imo.
The remaining trip will be SP and am really looking forward to the clinicas and boates such as Scandallo which is something you don't see in MTL, TK, BK or even Germany! Which I will be posting in the SP forum.
Let me know if I should add anything else to this list.
Questions for some of the veterans;.
-Are the girls that work in termas the same acompanhantes advertised on some of those websites like private55 or confrariars?
-I've heard about some possible hotel restrictions in Rio but I'm under the assumption that it will be alright if I bring them back up myself or confirm with the hotel for my guests.
-It was suggested to add Porto Alegre even for a day based on the quality of girls and a overnight stay in a love motel but personally I don't consider it to be worth it.
*P. S. Does anyone know what happened to The *monger? His website and twitter has been shut for the past few months.
Cheers gents.
Not using privates or casas cuts out a lot of good options.
Your opinion and other Rio reports that I read made me reconsider. I see that casas / privates are pretty popular in Rio so not to try them seems like going to Paris and not visiting La tour Eiffel because I want to try the local coffees. Better see everything. I guess I'm too spoiled because of my last few trips where I met some crazy 23-25 yo local girls and didn't made it to the brothels. It was in Bali and Kenya / Uganda. BTW brothels in Africa are a big no-no, it`s just too risky. Anyway,I think to visit Rio and not to check the privates will be a mistake.
So I start looking for an info and found some positive reviews, also an useful map with the location of the privates. But it seems too good to be true. According to what I found it will costs around 160-200 brazilian real which is 25-30 euro, and the girls seems pretty nice, if you can believe the photos. Here for example https://www.copa583.com.br/massagistas , at copa583 I read that the price are 160 reals. Is this correct? And generally about the price in the casas / privates. What is the regular price for the session. Maybe around 150-200 reals? It's just too cheap to be true.

It's just too cheap to be true.Copa 583 is a nice introduction to Rio, its central to Copa, you can walk in off the street, the ladies are brought one by one to meet you, the rooms are big and clean. The service is reasonable.
Be aware that generally girls don't speak English.
One hour in most privates are 150-200, this includes as many pops as you can muster, normally no up selling for CIM, anal etc. BBBJ is the norm.
You really need to head to el Centro as most privates are not in Copa.
But it isn't Asia, don't expect to sit in a bar and for girls to make eye contact with you, apart from in mabs bar.

........Anyway,I think to visit Rio and not to check the privates will be a mistake.
So I start looking for an info and found some positive reviews, also an useful map with the location of the privates. But it seems too good to be true.......You should familiarize yourself with termas. While termas and privés are both brothels, they are very different. First-time visitors usually check out the major termas like Solarium, Monte Carlo and 65.
Termas are more expensive. Termas typically have more women. There can be a somewhat party scene. You can sit around a bar / lounge hanging out with your friends and the girls for a long while. As has been mentioned, the amenities (sauna, massage) are usually not too exciting. If that itself doesn't sound enticing, the girls at the major termas are generally better looking.
Others can comment and I also would like to know. But how useful is Spanish in a Portuguese speaking country? This is one of those questions that gets asked over and over and over again. I'm a Spanish speaker, and I can assure you it's useful. You might not be able to understand them, but I guarantee that if you speak Spanish well, they will understand a lot of what you are saying. So, between that and what English they know, plus a handy tool like Google Translate, you will be fine.
Hey boys,
Just finished my first week in Rio. I'm here on the 80 day visa waiting out the pandemic, but not necessarily here strictly for mongering. Nice bonus tho.
Have had 3 encounters so far:
Copa 583 in Copacabana. Address on Google maps. 130 reais for an hour, a stunning girl but unfortunately would not kiss properly, barely would let our bodies touch and very mechanical. Personality wise and conversation wise very warm and friendly, but actual physical contact was decent and I felt tolerated rather than pampered. Would avoid unless you know of a specific girl that would treat you otherwise.
A couple of days later got that classic bait and switch on photo acompanhantes, but the girl who opened the door at the casa was attractive to me so I persisted. She did what we discussed on WhatsApp; oral without condom, but it was mediocre as was the sex. Lesson learnt: only go with escorts thoroughly vettted on gp arena if using photo acompanhantes. 150 reais / HR in Copa.
Today I went to crèche dos maridos, address on their insta. Did not make a booking, and requested a line up. Absolutely beautiful girl, Nikki, in red lingerie and natural breasts. Very warm, loving, hugs, kisses, always trying to extract more and more cum from you. 170/ HR or you could do 100/ HR. Would defo come back if I need fast sex and don't have time to arrange anything.
This is the casas post: https://www.photoacompanhantes.com/acompanhantes/rio-de-janeiro/copacabana/novinha-anal-liberado-com-local-apartir-60-id-8m3cq.
And this is their reviews by locals: http://gparena.net/td-show.php?t=4060, some posts are obviously fake and posted by the casa, but decent info. And I can vouch that there's at least one good girl there.
I think I'm going to start frequenting more Indy escorts that have been thoroughly vetted on the fora, seems to be the way to go.
Thanks Jingo for the advices, much appreciated. I think to rent an airbnb somewhere on Copacabana and from there to explore the city, including El Centro. I guess it will be easy with the metro. BTW what prices can I expect in the termas like Monte Carlo, Centaurus and Solarium? All I found using the search engine of the forum is that the price are fixed and very visible when you enter. So it's kind of secure that there will be no negotiations, I hate to negotiate for that kind of "service". Or more precisely to be overcharged as a tourist compare to what local pays. Also I checked the websites of the termas, but again didn't find any prices. I'm just curious what to expect.

Drinks aren't expensive. Massages from a masseuse are extra, but skip it. As 65 is in Centro away from the tourist zone, that's a little bit less.
You generally don't have to worry about being overcharged at a termas because the prices are typically posted. Additionally, you can stay as long as you want. If you build a rapport with a girl, you can get a phone number. I'm always discreet because I don't want to draw any attention from management. Termas are really a "what you put in is what you get back" kind of thing. A group of gringoes who put out a lot of positive energy will get positive energy returned back.

Right on I am King Henry V (hope not King Lear anytime soon).
While I am thinking of it, here is the single best tip.
Play felipe ret when fucking brazilian chicks.
Search felipe ret on youtube.
Select album completo.
If going into a prive or boate, figure out how to have the audio downloaded onto your device and play from a portable speaker.
If in your hotel room play felipe ret while you are cueing up your favorite porn as visual.
His line about his poetry dropping panties is true.
Sounds great and Thanks.
That's my exact experience in many trips to Brasil. They will understand your Spanish just fine. But you won't understand their Portuguese.

I live in Sao Paulo, my work (pre-pandemic) took me to PR / MG / RJ as well as SP states (for now the only travelling I do is via Zoom). When I hear / see gringos trying to communicate with Brazilians in Spanish my thoughts are:
A) Have you checked a map lately?
B) Damn you're making Americans look like idiots!
C) You are insulting your listeners!
D) It reinforces all the reasons why I avoid Americans in Brasil.
Learn some Portuguese! Please!

But despite that, my trips to Brasil have been more memorable than my trips to the usual Spanish-speaking destinations.

So it's going on 3 days with Monique at Chalet de la Playa, ie, Transamerica.
She needs to stop looking at facebook when she is cooking or she burns the bolinhos de bacalhau, which Vagabundo likes.
Vagabundo also likes shooting endless creampies in her bare pussy.
Monique screams and orgasms when Vagabundo penetrates her cuzinho.
It brings to mind that great scene in Charlie Wilson, who says, "I guess someone can't count".
She orgasms with my dick up her ass but doesn't let me shoot a nut up that tight passage.
But she is trying.
Meanwhile, I empty my gonads into her young pussy 6 to 9 times a day.
We went to the beach the last two days, which were good beach days.
As that guy who wrote the subtle art of not giving a fuck from Brazil has correctly noted, all the fucking natives care about is the photos, hence her love for one of Vagabundo's devices to check her facebook.
But she's a good cook too, when she gets her head out of her facebook.
And unlike Midori, she gives up her pussy to endless leche.
Good girl.
Midori is getting ignored, as is Nina, who is trying to set up a meeting with Vagabundo. We are bringing back callsign Kira Noir, a Mulatta, who is Vagabundo's favorite.
Life is good.

D) It reinforces all the reasons why I avoid Americans in Brasil.
Learn some Portuguese! Please!I know where I'm at (I've been to over 50 countries, and I keep really good track), I'm not making anybody look like an idiot (including myself), nobody has been offended by me working hard to try to communicate with them, and I'm quite happy to avoid other Americans abroad who think they're somehow better than me because they speak the local language (whatever it is), and I don't. I'm also happy to avoid any local who has no patience and cops a tude if you don't speak the local language (this is extremely rare in most any country I have been to, but not all), but there you are trying your best to communicate with them anyway.
And it isn't just about just being lazy either. I speak three languages already, and I'm sure there are some here who speak more than that. How many do you speak? I speak English (native), Spanish, and a third that again I shall not name because it gives too much away. I would love to speak Portuguese the way that I can speak Spanish, but I have not had time to learn it the way that I want to. I needed the other two languages for my work, so they got top priority, and my work keeps me busy and doesn't allow me the time to be in a class all day, which is what I did for Spanish and the other language, both of which I have since put to good use.
Now guys listen up. It's all how you do it. How you go about it. You don't just walk up to a Brazilian and start blabbing away in Spanish (or English). Not only would that make you look like an idiot (yes), it's really kind of culturally ignorant I think. Now, you might know that somebody speaks English just by hearing them talking to somebody else. Or, if you smile and say "Hi", you could get a smile back and an, "Oh you speak English great I like to practice"! I've had that happen a lot. Many Brazilians are proud to show their English skills. If the person speaks no English, then you can ask them (in Spanish) if they speak Spanish. Many will nod yes or say they do a little bit and encourage you to speak to see if they can understand (I have found that most of the time they do). And between what Spanish and English they can understand, and what Portuguese you can understand, you will do just fine, and nobody is going to be offended if you approach them in a kind and considerate way! The only one who might get offended is some American who thinks he's better than you because he speaks the language, and assumes that you're just some culturally insensitive dolt who doesn't give a damn! And I can guarantee you that the working girls absolutely won't be offended! Believe this! If anything, they might get offended if you keep trying to speak to them in your limited Portuguese (or Spanish) when their English is outstanding LOL!
And remember, if and when all else fails, you still have your handy smartphone! Everybody has one, and everybody has got some kind of translator on their phone. The girls are often the first ones reaching for theirs so that they can communicate with you. If you don't know Portuguese and you haven't had time to learn it (for whatever reason), then use everything at your disposal to make sure that you can communicate what you need to, including technology. And over time, you will pick up key words and phrases that will be very helpful as well. But whatever you do, don't let somebody put you down and make you feel lesser because you don't know Portuguese how they do. What I'm here to tell you is that you can still go down there and have a great time, Portuguese or no! I can't tell you how many girls I've met and fucked where the whole time we were either speaking 100% English, 100% Spanish, or something in between like "Spanglish" and Portuguese LOL! And then too, there have been times when we've been 100% on the translator, and it was still all good! Everybody happy!
Of course, knowing the language of whatever country you're in would make the whole experience richer. Nobody can challenge that. But let's keep it real. Most people who go down there as native English-speaking tourists are never going to have great Portuguese. Not ever! And if that's you, don't you worry! You will meet Brazilians, including working girls, who can speak English like they're from Anaheim, California or Spanish like they're from Guadalajara, Mexico, to some who can only speak Portuguese. But never fear! Read my reports. Look at the photos of all the Brazilian tutes I done fucked. Do you see me suffering? And do you see me writing about how my time was terrible because I couldn't communicate? Let me answer that. No! As long as you're not one of these types who thinks that the louder you speak English, then the more likely a non-English speaker is eventually going to understand you, then you'll be fine. And don't let anybody tell you anything different from that. You go with your non-Portuguese speaking self! Just be considerate, not only of their language (don't just walk up and start speaking Spanish or English), but of their culture too. Do that, and you will come back with memories that will last you a lifetime, including some funny ones that may even involve some language miscues themselves (see my post in the Porto Alegre thread where the gaucha sold me her panties right there in the club when I thought she was asking me yet again to spend money on alcohol). Methinks some people need to get off of their high horse is what. Brazilian people are generally quite friendly and accepting if you are too. And you try to communicate in a friendly and patient way. In all my travels down there, I can only recall one time when a tute didn't want to talk to me because I didn't speak Portuguese. And I was glad too because her ugly ass approached me. Was an easy way to get rid of her haha!
No doubt you're right. I just couldn't make significant progress with Portuguese, which is weird because I have somewhat of a head start already speaking Spanish. Cheers. The moniker of "the ugly American" is well-earned. But we're not the only ones. I've seen bad behavior exhibited by people from all over the place from east to west and in between. Although, when it comes to "language snobbery", I would have to say that English-speaking peoples seem to be the worst in terms of acting like everybody else should speak and understand English. When I retire, I hope to be able to spend some extended time in Brazil. While there, one of the things I would like to do is study Portuguese at my leisure and at my own pace in the mornings or early afternoons. I'll need to leave evenings and weekends open for many sexual escapades.

A Bengala.I retired in '15, moved to Sao Paulo and started my own company. Being African-American I try my best to blend into the crowd / culture. When a random Brazilian asks me where I'm from (in Portuguese) and I tell them Washington, DC. USA. , they're fucking floored. Conversely, when I'm speaking Portuguese, due to my accent many think that I from some semi-literate fuck from some other region of Brasil. I have several Brazilian friends I've known for years who think I'm French or Canadian, simply because I speak half-way decent Portuguese and never told them I'm from EUA. And only speak English when I want to tell jokes or they want to practice their English.
Wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen an American thrown out of a bar or gotten his ass kicked by a bouncer for being a fucking asshole. Basically, expecting everyone to speak English simply because he's paying with an American Express gold card or has a wad of Brl $100's in his pocket. Then copped a tude' when he and his group didn't get their way, and made the major mistake of making a scene about the whole thing. Damn it hurts me to my core when I see that shit, but then not as much as the guy getting his DNA re-arranged by some MMA fighter moonlighting as a bouncer!
I live in a pretty exclusive building in Sao Paulo. Being the new (gringo) guy, all the security guys know me. There have been times when I don't even have to buzz in, they see me on the camera, say "bom DIA, boa tarde, or boa noite," call me by my first name over the PA and let me in. It's not unusual for them to stop by my flat, buzz my door and ask (in broken English) if I need any laundry picked up from the dry cleaners, or they're going to the mercado, do I need anything? Of course if I do, I'll give them a tip. Thinking if they do that all over the building, it'll add up to a major boost to their salary, I imagine.
Not that I'm complaining or anything but there is one armed guard (a woman, yes she's hot, 25-30 yrs old, who is also Policia Militar) who'll stop by my flat and ask to use the bathroom. I always have some coffee on the stove and extra bottles of water in the fridge for them. Once, I had to go to Rio for a last minute meeting, told the security guy on my floor I'd be out of town for the weekend, he asked if he could crash at my place with his GF! Gave him my door code, told him no problem, just change the sheets, wash the dishes and don't drink all my tequila!
Once PM babe was off-duty from her building security gig, she had worked a few hours overtime and was unable to go to her own house, but had her PM uniform in her backpack (as she's required to do) asked if she could shower at my place before she changed into her PM uniform. This was after she put her Taurus. 45 on my home office desk, took the mag out, cleared the chamber and gave me permission hold / look at it.
She even stopped by a few days later and cooked dinner to thank me. Best poached salmon I've ever eaten in my life!

If your Android user make sure your phone has the type-see connection.

Monique charged Vagabundo 600 r for 3 pernoites / diarias, starting on 18 h Domingo (Sunday) ending 14 h Quarta Feira (Wednesday).
Of course I also bought whatever she wanted at the supermercado, about 400 r.
And two days at the hula hula beach bar, 440 r per day, and extra odds and ends like sunglasses from the beach vendor (50 r).
It was a good 66 straight hours.
Unlimited creampies in her negra buceta. Of course.

But I do agree with my man that says learn some Portuguese. I been on my duo lingo and Busuu but don't have much hope that I will really be able to hang next month LOL.

So you have to learn their informal version. If you are talking to an educated person then you would be able to understand them.
I remember being with a hooker in Sosua and we ran into a friend from her home town. She asked for the girl's number and proceeded to write it in her phone exactly how she was pronouncing it: Mokito, meaning Mosquito. When I meet Dominican chicks online and they can not write in formal Spanish it makes ny head hurt and I just choose not to deal with them. Even something as simple as que they will write as ke or some bullshit.
Many of them even have their names spelled wrong on their birth certificate and a different day than when they were actually born due to their parents' illiteracy.

A lot of them say yo boy on the text instead of yo voy in the Dr. Also my Spanish is burnt but basic stuff they couldn't understand. I would text them me why tu restaurante. That means me and you restaurant which is me saying let's go eat some food at a restaurant. It's not proper Spanish but if a Spanish chick said me and you restaurant in English I would know she's wants to go eat some food. But the girls in DR couldn't even comprehend that.

A few years ago, I was in Havana. I was staying in the same Casa as a couple from Bogota. I mentioned to them that I didn't understand some of the taxistas very well. They replied that they couldn't understand them at all! They said they had a driver that they swore was speaking a different language! Note - from my Cuba experience, this varies a lot - some taxistas I actually understand perfectly.

Reminds me of the joke about the USA and the UK being two great nations separated only by a common language! The first time I went to Argentina, it took me two days to understand people well because of the way they enunciate their words there. Colombians are known for speaking some of the best Spanish in the Americas. I've generally had no problems understanding them. That is, until I went to the coast and started speaking to "costenas". I had difficulty understanding because of the way they pronounced the words, and with them dropping letters and stuff. I have heard that Dominicans do that too. Dropping letters. Something to get used to.

So, Nina has been asking for money. She has been trying to set up a dupla with Kira Noir, who I'm really interested in. Nina says she will come over, and as I said, she has been taking the bus, walking her ass from the bus stop on av das Americas to my hotel, Transamerica, and then calling up from the front desk. I like this. So she gets the request last night at 2:30 PM, and. Typical of Brazilians. Waits, and waits. Finally she starts texting at 11 PM, with bullshit like "I lost my bus money, so can you uber me?" My answer was a flat no. Not only no, NFW. No friggin way.
It brings to mind Mark Manson's bit about Brazilians which I posted here. They are the most vain people in the world. Totally selfish, always. Don't care as long as they get the picture.
I must be turning Brazilian, ha.
https://markmanson.net/brazil
Carnaval is over. The "real" new year is finally beginning. And tomorrow, I will be leaving, returning to my country.
Like most gringos, I originally came to Brazil for the parties, the beaches, and the girls. Little did I know that I would spend the majority of the next four years within your borders. I would learn a lot about your culture, your language, your customs, and by the end of this year, I will marry one of your girls.
It's no secret that there are big problems in Brazil. There's a political crisis, an economic crisis, constant safety concerns, huge income inequality, and now with the outbreak of Zika, apparently a health crisis.
Over the years, I have met many Brazilians who have asked me, "Why?" Why is Brazil so screwed up? Why are countries in Europe and North America so prosperous and safe while Brazil continues to go through the same cycles of growth and collapse over and over again?
In the past, I've had theoretical conversations about systems of government, colonial histories, economic policies, and so on. These are clearly some valid explanations for the problems. But lately, I've come to another conclusion. A conclusion that many people would probably find offensive, but upon mentioning it to a few of my Brazilian friends, they urged me to write about it and share it.
So here it is: it's you.
You are the problem.
Yes, you reading this, you are the problem. I'm sure you don't mean to be, but you are actively participating in the problem and perpetuating it. Every day.
Because it's not just about Dilma or PT. It's not the banks or the construction companies or Petrobras or even the crappy Real.
It is the culture. It is the beliefs and mindsets that form the foundation of how the Brazilian people choose to think about their lives and their country.
The problem is what you and everyone around you has decided to accept as OK, even when nothing about it is OK.
Imagine you are riding in the car with your friend late one night. Your friend is driving down a dark street with nobody on it. He has been drinking and he's not paying attention when suddenly he crashes into an expensive parked car. Before anybody can see what happened, he drives off.
The next day, the police knock on your door mentioning that a car was damaged on a street nearby and they're wondering if you know anything about it.
What would you do? Would you: A) lie and say you don't know anything and protect your friend? Or B) tell the officer what happened and force your friend to take responsibility for his mistake.
I believe most Brazilians would choose A. I believe most gringos would choose be. And this is essentially why gringo countries are rich and functional and Brazil is not. In gringo countries, there is a sense that justice and responsibility are more important than any specific individual. It is a social consciousness. It is the bedrock of a highly functional society and to ignore it is a form of selfishness.
Most Brazilians have sacrificed a great deal for their family and their closest friends and because of this, they don't believe they are selfish.
But I believe that Brazilian culture is inherently selfish. Only caring about your family and close friends is still a form of selfishness.
You know all of those corrupt politicians and businessmen and police and workers unions? You know why they're corrupt? I guarantee you that almost every corrupt Brazilian official justifies the lying and stealing to themselves by saying, "I'm doing this for my family. " They want to give their family a better life, send their kid to a better school, move and live in a safer neighborhood.
A Brazilian will regularly screw over strangers in order to benefit their family and then call it altruism. This is not altruism. Altruism is giving up your own interests for strangers and for the greater good of society at large.
But there's also a vanity involved. I was surprised when I first learned that calling somebody "vain" in Portuguese is not seen as insulting as it is in English. Now I believe this is another key distinction between the two cultures.
A few weeks ago, my fiancée and I traveled to a famous beach in Brazil. We were disappointed. The water was dirty. The beach was ugly. The famous rock nearby was half the size we expected.
When we returned to São Paulo and told some friends this, their first response was, "Well, you still took pictures in front of it, right?
It seems like such a small and innocent statement, but to me, it illustrates the core of another problem with Brazilian culture: people care way more about how they appear than how they actually are.
Now, Brazil isn't the only country with this problem, but I find it more extreme here than almost anywhere else I've ever been.
It's why rich Brazilians will gladly spend two or three times more for a shirt or piece of jewelry than they should or hire nannies and housekeepers when they could easily raise their own kids and clean the house themselves: because it makes them look and feel more rich. It's why Brazilians buy everything in 12 or 24 installments: because they want to look like they can afford a television when they actually can't. It's why some poor Brazilians are willing to shoot somebody for a motorbike or kidnap a person for a few thousand reais: because they want to appear successful without contributing to society to earn it.
A lot of gringos believe that Brazilians are lazy. I don't think Brazilians are lazy. On the contrary, Brazilians have more energy than most other people I've seen in the world (see: Carnaval).
The problem is that Brazilians focus all of their energy on vanity instead of productivity, on appearing popular and glamorous rather than actually doing something to make them popular or glamorous, on making others think they are successful rather than actually being successful.
Vanity is not happiness. Vanity is a bullshit Photoshopped version of happiness. It looks nice but it isn't real and it definitely does not last.
Vanity is self-defeating. If you need to buy something that's way more expensive than it should be to feel special, then you are not special. If you need to pay someone to make you feel special, then you are not special. If you need to hurt somebody or lie to somebody or cheat somebody to feel successful, then you are not successful. In this case, shortcuts do not work.
Instead, what vanity does is causes you to tolerate shitty behavior from those around you. When you're so concerned about what others think about you, that others will see you as glamorous or fun or popular, you are willing to tolerate bad relationships where your partner constantly cheats on you, bad friendships where your friends are disrespectful towards you, or bad family relationships where you are left unappreciated and unheard.
In Brazil, if someone is an hour late, everybody else stops and waits for them. If someone wants to leave and go on their own, then they are an asshole. If somebody in a family fucks up and wastes all of their money, other members of the family are supposed to give money to them. If somebody in the family gets a great job and makes a lot of money, they're supposed to give money to everybody else. If someone in a group of friends doesn't want to do something, everyone else is expected to not do it. If someone in a group of friends wants to do something on their own, they're seen as ant****ial and selfish.
As a gringo who generally doesn't care what people think about me, I find it very hard to not see these situations as disrespectful and self-sabotaging. In circumstance after circumstance, I watch Brazilians reward the victim and socially punish the person who independently succeeds.
When you reward a person for failing or losing or doing something wrong, you give them no incentive to ever improve or get better. In fact, you make them completely reliant on those around them rather than teaching them how to support themselves and how to create something out of themselves.
When you punish somebody for being more successful than others, you discourage the most talented and ambitious from creating the progress and innovation that the country needs. You hold back the very people that are going to pull you out of this mess in the first place and you make room for the manipulative and mediocre leaders to take their place.
Don't you see? When you socially punish people for their successes, then the only way to be successful is to be a lying, deceitful asshole. That is, you get Brazil.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to a friend who is always late is to leave without them. Because this forces them to learn how to manage their time and respect other people's time.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to a person who wasted all their money is let them struggle and be desperate for a while. Because that's the only way they will learn to be responsible in the future.
Sometimes the best thing you can say to a family member who is upset is simply to "get over it" because how else will they ever move on with their life?
I don't want this to sound like I'm the gringo who knows everything. I don't. And god knows my country is pretty fucked up too (I've already written a 15-page article about fucked up shit in the US).
But soon, Brazil, you will be a permanent part of my life. You will be part of my family. You will be my friend. You will be half of my child when I have one.
And it's because of this, I feel I must share all of this with you openly, honestly, and with the love in which one friend speaks frankly to another, even though it hurts.
And also, because it's not going to get better.
Maybe you already realize this. But if you don't, then I will be the one to tell you: it's not going to get better anytime soon. Your government will simply not be able to pay everything it owes soon unless you redo your entire constitution. The big businesses that drive your economy borrowed way too much cheap money back in 2008-2010 and they're probably not going to be able to pay it back. Many of them will go bankrupt in the coming years causing an even worse crisis. Commodities prices are at extreme lows and show no signs of going higher, meaning there's no more money coming into the country. You are a population of debtors and over-spenders in a shrinking job market and your taxes are so high that they are strangling productivity out of the population.
You are fucked. You can get rid of Dilma. You can get rid of PT. You can lower taxes and redo your constitution (and you should), but it doesn't matter. The mistakes were already made years ago and you are going to have to live through it.
You are looking at at least 5-10 years of lost opportunities. If you are a young Brazilian, much of what you grew up expecting to achieve will no longer be available. If you are an adult in your 30's or 40's, your best economic years are likely behind you. If you are over 50, well, you've seen this movie before, haven't you?
It's the same old story, just a different decade. Democracy did not fix the problem. A strong Real did not fix the problem. Bringing millions of people out of poverty did not fix the problem.
The problem remains. Because the problem is the mentality of the people. The problem is certain facets of what is an otherwise beautiful and exuberant culture.
O jeitinho must die. The toxic vanity must die. The lack of accountability in your relationships must die. And the only way to kill these things is through enough Brazilians consciously choosing to change them within themselves.
Unlike the external revolutions that have been so common throughout your history, your revolution needs to be internal, a coup that takes place inside your heart and inside your mind.
You must choose to see things in a new way. You must set new standards and expectations for yourself and for others. You must demand that your time be respected. You must expect the people around you to be accountable for their actions. You must prioritize a safe and strong society above your own interests or the interests of your family and friends. You must let those around you handle their own problems, just as you must not expect anyone else to handle yours.
These are the choices that must be made every day. And until this internal revolution takes place, I fear you are destined to repeat the same mistakes for many more generations to come.
There is a joy inside Brazil that is both rare and special. It's what attracted me to this country many years ago and it will keep me coming back. I just hope that one day that joy has the society it deserves.

The spot exchange rate is 5.62 USD to BRL.
The international language of love is money, as the tag line for ISG says, money is the world's greatest aphrodisiac.
Have anyhow considered of taking advantage of the real, and buy an apartment in Rio?

Yes, the landlord from earlier this year suggested it to me.
I discussed it with ISG colleagues like Fukamefdig.
The conclusion of we few, we happy few mongers who braved the pandemic to monger here was:
IT is better to be a renter, even to get a 30 month lease, and then just to tweek the contract.
Brazil is a Hi tax, Hi regulation cluster f* and I want as little to do with the BS as possible, unless it is through a trusted channel like a church.

Are there any thoughts on the future direction of this exchange rate, over the next 14 days. Over the next 90 days. Next 120 days.

Just wanted to give some updates. Staying at Pestana, ok so far have not brought girl back yet (2nd day). Went to Monte Carlo first due to location. Decent lineup. All in was 650 reais. 1 hour in suite drink for me and drink for lady. Went to Marrakesh club, no Bueno. Only 1 doable, had an old lady with fake ones tell me $100 is going rate, I told her I would not pay 100 reais and left. Today went to copa 583 club. Best lineup so far went with 24 yo Negra. She was hot asf but stopped half way through second go round and complained I would not DATY. I played it off but not my thing on high mileage girls. Was worth the 130 reais for sure. The price is nice experience. Will return Monday to try second choice. Sexy ass brunette, it was a hard choice. Probably should have taken both. Heading to centaurus now. I will do more detailed report once I get home. Staying in barra the tijuca next week. Thanks for info vagabondo. Interesting post below. Overall so far I have felt very safe, most have been courteous and friendly even. Biggest headache so far is cell phone. Paying $10 a day for roaming package is not as ideal as tourist plan you would get in SEA. So far I still prefer Thailand or Philippines but I will make that decision a while after I have time to process everything. You can feel the "lockdown" has been very very hard on people here as at home (US), it is nice to feel appreciated though. I have been tipping in occasions I normally wouldn't and tipping more than I usually would because tourism numbers are clearly not strong. I have only talked to one group of gringos so far. Masks are worn by most 90% at least in copa. I will keep those interested updated.

In the spirit of O'Brien's "The Things They Carried," here is what I carried today, on my bus ride to Duque de Caixis and back to Barra. Basically dress like a motorcycle cop, like those Colombian moto cops who aggressed that person in Colombia (not saying it was wrong or right), or like mad max, because when you step off the plane in Brazil, you enter the jungle. You can get attacked going into a session in an apartment of a girl off of a website, or anywhere else in Brazil. Be ready men.

I'm a European Portuguese, born and living in Portugal, Europe. There are Brazilian prostitutes here since the 2000's.
And the safety issue, or the danger of being robbed in an apartment, is something Difficult to picture. Because most Brazilians girls living in Europe, they become "European", in the good and bad way.

The exchange rate has gone from 2.16 in 2006 to 5.62 today.
Does it stay at this level until. A vaccine? After the election? The BRL will continue to weaken as the years go on for the foreseeable future. The country is extremely corrupt, and the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer.
I was in Brazil when the BRL to USD was 2 to 1, and I still thought Brazil was expensive.
I lived there when it was 4 to 1, and I still thought Brazil was expensive.
Today, even though the exchange rate is almost 6 to 1, the country is still expensive. Inflation over the last 2 decades makes it harder for Brazilians to have a decent quality of life.
Oddly enough, I do a search for hotels in São Paulo (the higher end ones) and they are super expensive in USD terms.
If we have some finance gurus or economists here, please chime in and help me understand what I'm missing.

It seems like the hotels that are nice enough to want to stay in don't allow girls. Only special "love hotels" for that purpose. What if I don't want to buy 2 hotels? Any options?
Anyone done this here?
I am about 9-10 weeks into my first 90 days. The two forms listed below are required. One Caveat, I do not have my arrival / departure card, hope this does not cause any issues.
I plan to go to the Federal Policia at GIG.
- Requerimento de prorrogação de estada.
- Guia de Recolhimento the União.
Any advice appreciated.

Bolsonaro's purpose as leader of Brazil is for the rich (himself included) to get richer. Even though the Brazilian economy is headed downhill the rich are getting even wealthier. The people who stay at upscale hotels and who buy the things that tourists will buy are the Brazilians of means. The middle class and poor Brazilians do not consume the things that American tourists partake of.

Meanwhile, the rich get richer. Eventually the government support will end, and then there will be hell to pay. Protect your investments! Because we will at some point go from the CARES Act to who cares? And then you're screwed!
We periodically have these F / X (economic) discussions. There are some generalizations one can make, but they won't help you much trading (or accumulating) Reais. A vaccine announcement should make the Real stronger. Are we going to 6:1 before 5:1? Who knows?
As was mentioned, because of higher inflation the currency tends to weaken vis-a-vis the Dollar and Euro over the long-run. That doesn't help a foreigner planning to buy Brazilian real estate or any other investment. The price for such investment will likely be higher down the road.

What's up fellas. Arrived Sat afternoon around 11 am. Arrived to Pestana. Booked the ocean front room that at Riobob suggested. And the view is definitely worth it.
Saturday after exchanging money. Hitting the pharmacy for Xans and viagra hit some beach bars until 5 pm.
1st stop. Monte carlo. TD with sexy 27 yo Laura.
Amazing body and great sex. A+.
Got some grub and showered and then headed to Solarium. Nice layout good music. TD with beautiful slim Venezuelan lady. Again another +.
Back to hotel by 11. Jet lag set in.
Sunday. Beach day. And day drinking at different beach bars. Stopped at mabs around 9 pm and not 1 lady. Finished the day just getting a freelancer from barravip.
Monday. Went to christo redeemer. Amazing. Breath-taking worth the 15 bucks.
Then went to centro to look for prives and we struck out. Couldn't find 1 that was open. Used the Google map that someone posted on here.
So went back to copa area. Headed to copa 583 10 ladies some pretty. But I am picky. So went to eden in same building, was told they don't offer sex haha. Little embarrassing. Then headed to a 3rd room in that building forgot name. But about 6 girls. I passed, but buddy scored a hot lady. I used whatsapp and hooked up with another barravip lady.
5 pm took uber to centro. Went to terma 65 nothing in there we liked, went to terma New York. Again nothing. Then went to terma aquaris? But didn't exist.
So now it's 7 pm in uber heading to Centaurus.
Learning a lot. Still wish I knew more info on prives and office buildings.
But 2 full days in and having a blast!

This post will not be as informative, centaurus brought an interesting turn of events. Chose a spinner at the end of the session she asked for my whatsapp, ended up hooking up all day Sunday and Monday. Went to christ the redeemer. No lines no waits which was great. She didn't ask for money but I gave her $200 and bought her a nice dress which she loved and wore the whole time. Heading to termas solarium or whatever it's called tonight. Then back with spinner tomorrow unless a hotter chick at solarium does the same. Tomorrow is move to Barra. All the hottest girls at termas have said they live in Barra. Will hit Paris Cafe wed. Or tomorrow if I decide my spinner isn't worth being tied down for anymore. While almost free is nice, I am here to sample as much as possible in a short time.
The exchange rate has gone from 2.16 in 2006 to 5.62 today.
Does it stay at this level until. A vaccine? After the election? The thesis is there will be some volatility during the US elections, followed in the short term by weakening of the USD. When vaccines become widely available and normalcy comes back expect the real to weaken. As for inflation in the country it acts as a tax on middle class. Lower real is good for the exporting country to meet its budget demands as always. The only way forward is to support the rich and then convince them to share their wealth one way or another, and only in this particular order. The alternative is a socialist chaos, which by the way is not good for this p4 p hobby.

Monique and I are netflixing and chilling.
I came once today (she's on her period), twice last night, still haven't paid her since she came over Sunday.
We are watching some awesome flick on netflix about African hookers.
Speaking of which.
Great netflix watching is. Fill in the blanks.
My girls always like terror, so.
Hostel III.
I spit on your grave (always makes me a little nervous when my pernoite likes a movie about a rape victim who seeks revenge and castrates the rapists).
Diary of a brazilian hooker (or something like that).
I like spy flicks. But the chicks like horror, like explicit horror like saw. Tells you what kind of environment they come from.
I cue up some kink.com video -- boundgangbangs with kira noir or ana foxxx or lea lexis (the black chicks like seeing white girls gang banged by black guys, vice versa).
Oh, yeah, my last great insight is.
Watch porta dos fundos on youtube to.
Learn brazilian Portuguese.
The episode "sobre mesa" is great.
I was in caixis and was joking about sobre mesa out in the street with nina the other day.
I actually got not only nina but also the staff at the pharmacia to laugh out loud at me yelling theatrically, "meu esposa, por sobremesa, quiero melancia".

Brazil has been one of the hardest hit countries so I don't know why a widely available vaccine would weaken the Real. I have no idea why volatility during the US elections would be followed by a weakening of the USD. First, the certainty of having an newly elected leader is typically good for a currency. Second, it takes two currencies to tango. Does USD weaken versus Gold, Euro, Chinese Renmimbi and / or Brazilian Real? It's possible for USD to be weak and Brazilian Real to be weaker.

The thesis is there will be some volatility during the US elections, followed in the short term by weakening of the USD...Whose "thesis" is that? Really the decline of the BRL vs USD is 100% about oil prices. BRL, RUB, CAD, MXP all declined vs USD with fall in oil prices. Currencies from countries with few oil reserves JPY, EUR remain stable.

The issue is to get the rich to establish employment generating businesses to provide work for the poor. Regarding the alternative, the Nordic style socialism seems to have been more damaging to our hobby than the Cuban variety. No one goes to Scandinavia to monger.

I brought Monique back today to Meier, and on the uber ride back to Metro Sans Pena, I dropped into Ann Massagen.
I paid Monique 400 r for two pernoites. I also pick up nice food and drinks (250 r) at the restaurant at p6 barra (the one at P7 is better).
Cost is 130 r for 1 h, 90 r for half hour, and 10 r discount for cash.
Those are good prices.
I did the appresentacao (go ahead correct my spelling), and there were 6 girls, ranging from 4 to 8.
The top one was a loira.
I asked if there were any negra negra negra ninfetas, and the answer was no.
I went and got a acerola juice at the corner restaurant where so many of us have dined after the walk down to Annes and the other prive which is not open (the one at 340 street address).
On the walk down to anne's I did go by the street market, and picked up a half KG of salmon at a good price.
I took the metro back to jardim oceanico, and caught an uber back to Transamerica.
Bad uber karma? Three times in a row a car with the same last two digits as the designated placa, and then two times again, on the third canceled uber of the very short trip.
I need to find a new room in Transamerica.
The spring is bringing longer days and the holidays soon, and supply and demand appear to be squeezing me. Wish me luck.

Stopped at mabs around 9 pm and not 1 lady.Mab's usually does not get going until much later at least 11 PM+ at best. Sunday-Wednesday can be pretty weak just depends, Thursday-Saturday better. Generally it's a tossup I only go after midnight after all else has failed.
Good luck.

Yale economist Stephen Roach has been predicting imminent collapse of the US dollar for at least 15 years. His latest is on offer at the FT. Apologies for paywall. He may be right this time, but right like a stopped clock and not due to any kind of theoretical validity or rigor to his analysis. Among other things, this piece lacks any kind of causal explanation for how a drop in the net savings rate in the US as a percentage of GDP (which is not that big a drop, actually, despite his alarm) somehow translates to a US dollar crash. He also conflates private sector savings with federal governmental savings without acknowledging how one offsets the other (governmental dissavings is, by definition, spent into the private economy). And to talk of dollar crashes without referencing the USD-based oil market and military control of the Straits of Malacca and Hormuz is to miss the point of where our "exorbitant privilege" comes from.
The strength of the USD comes from the US Navy (eichengreen, "exorbitant privilege".

Sunday.

Stopped in at solarium sessioned one of my top 3 hottest girls ever. Long black hair that went clear between her cheeks. Face was an 8 body 11 so I would give her a 9.5. LOL Then back to centaurus because spinner was bored. I was only customer in the bar when I arrived. Sessioned the spinner just so I could drink and smoke. Next day moved to airbb in barra. Had to get some things so spinner in tow we cruised the mall. When I saw an interesting sales clerk I would point out an article of clothing and have spinner keep others busy while I made determination on point of interest. Got the contact info of a cutie that seemed pretty interested. Spoke decent English and loves usa. Tried with two others but they spoke no English and didn't seem interested. Spinner needed a new phone and had the nerve to ask me to pay for an iPhone 11. LOL. I told her no. She then admitted she had money saved and I contributed $300. Which I am ok with for two full days of fun. So for two pairs of shorts a bathing suit and $300. I am getting 3 full days, a phone number of a pretty definite nonpro and a 3 way with spinner and her friend. Looking forward to Barra. The girls seem more eager and interested here. I got a lot of looks at the mall. Heading to Paris Cafe and solarium tomorrow after I pick up my motorcycle rental and do some cruising up the coast and down the jungle roads. Did the christ the redeemer thing too, it was impressive. It was cool having a local take me. Might also try a prive I found on gparenadotnet #travelbug that looks interesting. I just want to say thanks to vagabundo again and every one else that contributes. I read quite a ways back before taking the plunge to come here and do not regret it. I have gotten some decent pics I will try and post once home. Had a video from Marrakesh that would have been great but it didn't come out well. Thanks again everyone.

Not that it really matters, but there is no tunnel between Sheraton and Arpoador.I stayed at Sheraton 6 years ago during the World Cup, but I could swear there was a short tunnel that would start near a bus stop that was (I think) almost in front of the hotel. No? Is there even a bus stop, LOL?

If it Flys floats or fucks its cheaper to rent.
A flower is freshest after first being picked.
Never go for the best looking working girl anywhere because they are usually the lousiest fucks.

Woke up this morning with my spinner, went for a swim water is muy Frio. Even the cialis couldn't help that shrinkage. Kicked the spinner out about 4. Headed to Eros massagem. Only 3 girls luckily the 2nd girl had an unbelievable ass and in my eyes was pretty as hell. These things are always subjective. Paid 250 reais to house and tipped the girl 200. It was that enjoyable for me. You would have thought there was an emergency how quickly she grabbed my phone to add her to my whatsapp list. Probably have her to the condo tomorrow, for a proper session. 1 hour isn't enough for something that nice and the room sucked. Kept banging my shins on the stupid bed setup they had. Then headed to Paris club Cafe before 10 because I couldn't take my usual Skype call. Paris club is just like an American strip club but the fucking pole is broken. LOL. No stupid robes like termas. Talked to a cutie, she said she worked in hotel industry spoke 4 languages but her English was excellent so I bought her a drink. I was feeling her and about to session when spinner messaged me saying she wanted a trio with her 18 yo sister. She mentioned it the night before but I was running on 2 hours of sleep and knew I didn't have it in me. As I am reading the message the Paris girl invites me to some sort of party / concert thing Sunday. Told her I couldn't. Showed her the message gave her a 100 tip and told her I would be back tomorrow. Which I plan on going earlier because she mentioned a threesome and I don't want her friend to get hung up with someone else. Not sure on prices at Paris. Two drinks, premium gin and tonic mixer and shot of whiskey. Don't remember a cover. Total was around 100. At this point I am not worried about it being so far below budget and only have 2 or 3 days left whatever it is. So to termas centaurus I head again. It was a nice drive from Paris to centaurus 50 reais on uber I think. Get to centaurus and sister is in a session. Oh the sorrow I felt. But alas my spinner bff whom I showed my dick to on a video chat and watched us engage in some foreplay over the phone was down. I already had it in my head I was having a 3 some so I agreed. I think it was 1780 for the 1 hour program. The 1 hour rooms are way better BTW. I think I bought 8 ladies drinks and one of my own. But they were waiting on us to lock the door so the dude told me not to worry about the drinks. Good times. Tomorrow is going to have to be pretty good to top today but I am hopeful. Tomorrow I will do prive or have the prive girl over, Paris cafe and finish the evening at solarium. Maybe hopefully. Kind of long but I am trying to add more details. BTW don't think I am going to have time for a motorcycle which really sucks. I had no idea things would be this crazy. My phone has been blowing up for 3 days and all I am doing is eating fucking and riding in ubers with the occasional sleep for 2 to 5 hours. Thanks have fun. Sorry for any errors I am buzzed and exhausted at 430 am.

Sounds like an amazing time, man. What resources did you use to work on your Portuguese?I used YouTube. But I also took Spanish all four years of high school, and 2 years worth in college and lived in Miami for 9 years so I know most of the base words. It's just really hard to understand some of the accents. But when I speak they understand me so I must be doing ok.
Considering a trip to Brazil this year since it doesn't look like Thailand will be open anytime soon. Have been doing research and am looking for some advice.
Hotels: This will be my first time in Brazil (SA in fact). I know zero Portuguese, will be learning some basics but I figured a hotel would save me some headache compared to a rental. Based on recent reports I've got Porto Bay, Hilton, and Marriott on the list while Windsor group is out. Pestana seems to be another commonly recommended choice but I'm not a huge fan of the reviews and would prefer a better maintained place. I would also get some perks with the bigger chains. Wanted to see if any members have additional suggestions to widen the pool a bit.
Accessibility: I'm Asian and will probably stick out like a sore thumb in Brazil. I assume big cities and Rio and SA should be easily accessible but wondering if hobbying will be difficult, like in other places such as Japan and Korea, where either being a native, or being fluent in the language is a prereq to getting into some establishments.
Timing: Currently planning on around New Years, or just after New Years. I'm assuming Christmas will be a bad time given the country's religion, but would New Years or after New Years be a bad time as well?
Looking forward to the replies and hope everyone stays safe.

Vagabundo found a bigger room in transamerica, 3000 reais a month, very happy.
Always get the suite grande in Transamerica.
I will be here until 29th December.
There was some drama, but a Brazilian never gives up.
Nina deponca is massaging my balls, after two rounds of fucking, and she helped move.
Great girl.
Now we are planning to make some threesome kink scenes.
Monger on fellas.
My life brings to mind another knopfler epic.
A long time ago came a man on a track.
Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back.
And he put down his load where he thought it was the best.
Made a home in the wilderness.
He built a cabin and a winter store.
And he ploughed up the ground by the cold lake shore.
And the other travellers came walking down the track.
And they never went further, no, they never went back.
Then came the churches, then came the schools.
Then came the lawyers, then came the rules.
Then came the trains and the trucks with their load.
And the dirty old track was the Telegraph Road.
Then came the mines, then came the ore.
Then there was the hard times, then there was a war.
Telegraph sang a song about the world outside.
Telegraph Road got so deep and so wide.
Like a rolling river.
And my radio says tonight it's going to freeze.
People driving home from the factories.
There's six lanes of traffic.
Three lanes moving slow.
I used to like to go to work but they shut it down.
I've got a right to go to work but there's no work here to be found.
Yes, and they say we're going to have to pay what's owed.
We're going to have to reap from some seed that's been sowed.
And the birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles.
They can always fly away from this rain and this cold.
You can hear them singing out their telegraph code.
All the way down the Telegraph Road.
Well, I'd sooner forget, but I remember those nights.
Yeah, life was just a bet on a race between the lights.
You had your hand on my shoulder, you had your hand in my hair.
Now you act a little colder like you don't seem to care.
But just believe in me baby and I'll take you away.
From out of this darkness and into the day.
From these rivers of headlights, these rivers of rain.
From the anger that lives on the streets with these names.
'Cause I've run every red light on memory lane.
I've seen desperation explode into flames.
And I don't want to see it again.
From all of these signs saying "sorry but we're closed".
All the way down the Telegraph Road.

Sessioned Bruna Rocha from barravipsrio. $400 for the hour. She was in Leme and I was in barra so it took 45 minutes to get here. I asked her to stay for 2 hours once I saw the pictures were not photo shopped in fact they did not even do her justice. Wow what a body. Good session would repeat would recommend. Tipped $200. Then headed to Paris Cafe club. It was busy. When I arrived the door man kept telling me to watch out inside narcageim (only guessing spelling) was there. I paid it no mind I was there for pussy not to interact with other customers. They mix their drinks super strong, the music and lighting is good. You can wear normal clothes and smoke. Definitely my favorite environment so far. There are no 10's to be had. Mostly 7's. And below. I was approached by a thick but fit Negra. She was super cool we had many good laughs. Then I noticed a thick blonde with a really pretty face. Decided I wanted to give her a facial so off we went. 1 hour was 340 or so I think. Session was good but I could not pop, combination of too much drink and too much action I guess. She sucked and fucked for the whole hour like a champ though. I could feel she was feeling embarrassed so I gave her 100 tip and told her I was too drunk. Went back to club part bought her, Negra and English speaking girl from previous night another drink and decided I wanted the thick dark lips around my member so I took Negra for 30 minutes. Still didn't pop but man she could get it. Total for drinks and 30 minutes was 618. I remember because the girl behind the counter was insisting I take the 2 reai note. She was super cute and I told her I was going to take her next. She exclaimed nono. I laughed and said por favor as I walked away everyone laughing. Good night, once again the bar staff was waiting on me to close. LOL.
