IMHO folks, the place to be for New Year's Eve is Casaro American Bar on Baixo Augusta. I know I'll be there. There's a BRL $20/ BRL $30 cover. Imagine a smaller scale and much more conservative and reserved Helpee Disco. Downside it's not a free market*, rates are non-negotiable.

Additionally, IMHO, the garota breakdown (on a regular night) on a 10 scale: 50%= 6.5-7.5, 30%= 7.5-9, and the remaining 20%= 9.0-10.

And the live sex show wasn't bad either!

A bit under the weather with congestion and a head cold before I left on my flight after NEW YEAR from NYC. So, taking it easy right now.

Plan to visit a couple of ABG's favorite spots. And also plan to go enjoy live Samba on 7 Jan in Bar Brahma in Centro (on Ave Ipiranga across from the Citibank branch). I believe they also have a singer Vanessa Jackson scheduled for 9 Jan who sings English hits by the likes of Whitney Houston and others, belting out with a great deep soulful voice in the gospel tradition. But she sings the hit singers who originated singing gospel! For those that may like this. Check out on You tube.

Also, for any visitors, downtown Centro is worth a visit near Ave Ipiranga and walk down the corner (from Terraco the Barao, Itapetinga), a nice lively outdoor bar with live music in the pm. Walk up from there to the shopping mall across from the Theatro Municipal, Lojas Americanas (now converted into. 5 story mall with lots of outlet and other stores).

Will visit Casarao and Love Story as well on this trip and will provide feedback. We are all different, but for me I like hanging out in these kinds of places and prives are just a very occasional diversion for me. YMMV.

And BTW, you can rate all you want on a 1-10 scale, but in the end it's personality, attitude that particular day (because we all have things going on in our lives every day. Different stuff) and chemistry. IMO, there are no 10's (cause I am reserving that for a mysteriously beautiful and captivating chick in the clouds (LOL haha).

Anyways, I'm happy with 6's, 7 's and maybe occasionally an 8. I find that the 9's know they are 9's and if they think that you are not a 9 or 10 too, they couldn't care less. And it will be a mismatch. And, if you are young dude and are a 9 or a 10, you should not need any forums because they will come to you!

I find that, just speaking for myself, the more they expect, the less the experience will be for me. Life is an expectations game, IMO, so it's better to under expect / under promise and over deliver, when the chicas / garotas also are on the same page. And works generally, in all walks of life.

And finally, the 1-10 is by definition, a relative scale, from the point of view and perception of that person. ABG.I've been to kilt a total of maybe 15-20 times in the past 5 years. It's such a hit or miss over there that I have 0 expectations when I go and it's usually when I'm nearby.

Most of the times I go to Scandallo but in 2015 it's been pretty bad more than half the time I went there (obviously still better quality wise than kilt but the price is almost triple).

So I've been hitting up kilt a little more but I would say success rate is about 30% over there and I'm pretty picky so I think that's pretty good.

I've met girls that go to Cafe photo and Scandallo on different nights in kilt and they charge according to the house average.

I fucking hate that dirty ass motel next to kilt and don't really feel like driving all the way to lido so that's an annoyance whenever I go to kilt.

1. Back after nearly 3 years. Quality and quantity of garotas has declined a lot! Had already declined on my last trip, but now even more! Prives seem to be best option. But even at Vani's (and I had visited one her prives on my last visit) the quantity is there but quality is way down at Tangara, for example. Downtown Sensacao is very downscale facilities for my taste, but IMO, it's all about the mindset and culture and just like last time, there are 1-2 garotas out there who are definitely worth it.

2. Saw 2 other prives and will try Brooklin this weekend.

3. Went to Casarao a few times and I liked the ambiance and the shows. But it's narrow, gets jam packed and the guy / girl ratio is never less than 2 to 1 and on weekends expect 3 to 1. Saw a few 8's, maybe 2-3 9's but IMO, 70 PC of them are 5-6 and some below 5. Most are late 20's and maybe 20 PC are in their 30's. Tried KILT and was quite disappointed in the quality. Left immediately because again guy-girl ratio was high and I did not find quality much higher than at Casarao.

4. There is an american bar next to Casarao (there are few around there but only this one has decent quality) forget the name but will try to report on the that later. I think it's the second one to the left of Casarao.

5. Went to Love Story .....but it was a Wed and at 130 am it was very empty. Like 5 in the club and about 5-10 outside milling about smoking, and so I didn't go in (but they let me look) since it would not have been worth the entry of $ 100. But, I will probably go again this weekend. And btw, hats / caps NOT allowed so I will have to remember that.

6. Hit a few other smaller spots I knew from before near Centro and also near Augusta and the older women working behind the bar who knew me from before (and had helped me before) ticked off 5-10 names of garotas from their places who had emigrated to Swiss, Spain, Italy etc because they found someguy and got married to those guys! LOL. Now, that's new info! Got this from 2 different older women who I know in two different places and they were both having a very tough time finding young garotas (under 25) who wanted to work at these kind of clubs anymore. As for the economy, the young people (early 20 somethings) are still waiting in line, in droves, to pay are R$50, even on Wednesdays, and more than that even, just in cover, to enter the good bars and they don't look like (I am being careful here) they have a great shortage of money!

Even if unemployment now is say 8.5 percent ( that's just an additional 3-4 PC of total workforce of newly unemployed). In othet words, over 90 PC are still employed. So, it is difficult to really discern all the impacts now...until the dominoes fall and the second and third order macroeconomic impacts being to occur. China is not going to come back soon...at least not for construction and commodities. So, Brasil is in difficult bind, particularly considering the fiscal situation, the heavy load they have to carry of pensions, social security and the average retirement age of 55 today, and the employment surcharges or social ciosts employers have to carry....

As for the real, the exchange rate etc. , even at 4 to 1 USD just about everything here is still more expensive than in the USA even now. Both in the malls, the grocery stores, the little shops in Centro. Whether it's is upscale or downscale or in the middle everything is still more expensive. Food, clothing still cheaper in the US (except maybe some discounted women's shoes, tops etc). Jewelry still way more expensive. All branded products even at the Addidas and Nike outlet stores in Centro mall or in BH at the Cidade Shopping all more expensive than the US and I looked intensely because I am a data driven guy and was looking at the economy, inflation, purchasing parity adjusted cost of living etc to see if Brasil was close to a bottom from an investment standpoint and it mostly certainly is not. Malls and even small stores in Centro are all doing brisk business ...but I think people MAY be depleting their savings, their credit lines on their cards ( majority of transactions even at McDonlads are using debit and credit cards ) and their parents savings too. Who knows ?

If the economy in Brasil ( and the political situation ) continues to unwind I suspect there will be lots of apt foreclosure, high level of unpaid car loans and credit cards loans ( more than now ) and this might contribute to a very, very serious economic downtown ...because the economic downtown has only just begun in the last 12-15 months, from what I know. First order effects only now...second and third order effects yet to occur and the dominoes from that may start in earnest in the next 6-12 months and I quite concerned for all the really nice people here.

NewyorkinoYou can definitely do this if you go to places like Cafe Foto, Bahamas, etc. It's not cheap but easily doable. Maybe 800 are for TLN because you also have to factor in entrance to those clubs, drinks, bar fine, etc.

Cheaper options would be a night clubs like Casarao or Love Story. There you pay entrance and negotiate with the girls, I recall Casarao having a bar fine.

Going to a clinica and having a girl come over after her shift just seems icky to me. I mean she's probably banged 10 guys by the end of her shift and is tired as fuck.
