You come to Brazil probably 4 years too late for better price. Scandallo was 500 and maybe up to 1 K before for me.You can't ignore the impact of the exchange rate (plus good old inflation). When I first started going to Scandallo, most of the girls were happy with 600 reals. At that time, the exchange rate was 3 to 1 though. Now, and for quite sometime, it's been 5+ to 1. The girls understand the exchange rate when dealing with gringos and try to adjust accordingly. Throw in the rising cost of everything, and the price gets higher. Too high if you ask me. Annagie's latest report confirms what I found a year ago. The target price most of the girls at Scandallo are seeking is 1,500 reals presently. I believe that's too high, and virtually all the girls there will accept lower, especially if you don't go lower than around 1,000 reals. I'm not saying you can't go lower than that, but as a gringo your odds of success go down if you do. Especially if you aren't a known quantity or repeat customer. But at that price (1,000), and given the current exchange rate, I would essentially be paying the same in dollars at Scandallo as I did when I paid 600 at a 3 to 1 exchange rate. And that's 100% OK with me!

The phenomena I am referring to is the hoping for a home run price. That is how the game has changed. I see them as want to work less for more. It is mostly certain type of establishments that have increased price drastically and not just Brazil. Another example is La Isla in Medellin, before they would treat everyone the same and the service level was very high. You get a table even if you are a single regardless what you order. I ranked it very high because the quality of the appearance of the girls. But the game has been changed to money, at least no poker, haha. the price has more than doubled and they differentiae customers that they prefer let it rain tribe.
When I go to the cites that play the old game. A girl could send me her IG which would be the company she owns. She would nicely tell me she was hopping to get 800 by doing this. Most girls have a day job, and IG mostly filled with family photos. In Sao Paulo when it is changed to the new game, A girl (not all) could quote me 3k, when I did not accept, an unknown 2K girl would contact me later. Price I offered was 800 R for short encounters and 1300-1500 R for overnights. Some girls tried to charge more but I didn't entertain them as they sounded more pro. Don't ask girls what they charge. Tell them what you offer and see what they say. The asking rate is 1. 5 k for in house and 3 k outside. You decide what you are comfortable with and go from there.

Getting money from ATMs has been kind of a PITA. The banks close pretty early, like 4 pm. I wake late because of the late takeout sessions from the clubs, so the ones inside banks are not accessible. I've been relying on 24 hour ATMs mostly. But even those are spread out far and Google Maps isn't always accurate. I've been taken to "24 hour ATMs" that are in shops that are not open 24 hours. I've also been to one where it ran out of cash so I have to Uber to another ATM. These are just newbie issues that are taken care of with the right behavioral changes. Just grab as much cash as possible in multiple transactions when you're at a working one.
Latina girl came and gave me a great session that ended in CIP again. I love her eyes. Most girls' eyes here are darker than her hair but hers is the opposite which was really attractive to me. The round trip was about 90 reals. First up is Abbobora. Way to salvage a bad situation bud. I would have never had the patience to hang in there after hearing her lie about the getting in trouble for BBBJ and requested payment for nothing. I visited Gauguin Club, and the best way to describe it is "Scandallo Lite. " The vibe felt familiar right away. In fact, I recognized and knew a couple of the security guys and two waiters who used to work at Scandallo, which made the place feel comfortable from the start.
I tried to make the early bird entry, but missed it by about 15 minutes I walked in around 9:15 PM. Still worth it. Right away the atmosphere hits you: the garotas dressed in elegant evening dresses, moving around the club, great eye candy and a slightly more polished feel than Casarao.
First stop was the bar. Nice, they actually stock 18-year and 21+-year whiskey, Good start to the night.
The layout is solid: multiple floors, easy to move around, and a few quieter areas to talk. The rooms upstairs are are $200, which is pretty reasonable and reinforces the whole Scandallo-like feeling a similar environment but more affordable from when scandallo was are $800 brl and under are $1000 brl (dating myself with those prices kkk).
I never actually asked garota price. Instead I simply offered are $800 to go upstairs, paid the are $200 room fee, and used my credit card for the garota payment. For anyone wondering: InfinitePay, MercadoLibre Pay PagSeguro / PagBank all these worked with my US credit cards without any issues. Just remember the name used in card transaction and take a screenshot or have the garota send on wassap.
One interesting thing about the night: every interaction turned into a reverse interview. Two attractive garotas would sit down, start chatting in Portuguese, and once they realized I could respond in brasilian porto the energy completely bumped up to next level. Suddenly it was 21 questions.

This is from the app. You have a us card, so you need to check the box on the bottom to indicate you have a credit card from abroad. Web site is the same. I don't think they accept Google Pay if that was what you were asking. I think they are a US based company.
You probably are hindered by the Portuguese. There is a always a link that you can sigh up without discount from within their site. They used to give away 7 days promotion for R79 all the time 3 years ago. Check your email and you should see some promotional emails with longer terms.

Checked into the Grand Hyatt. Great room but I don't care for the area. I'll be arriving in SP this (Easter) Sunday, this will be my second time there. It sounds like I'm not arriving on the best weekend since the city seems to shut down, but sharing some of my plans and questions in case anyone has suggestions:
Easter Sunday (5 April): I've arranged a meeting with a girl I met at Scandallo on my last trip who was up for anything and sounds like she still is. I plan to take her to a love motel (I assume those will still be open in Easter Sunday? If it were a different Sunday I would have tried Casarao. But I figure Easter will be no good (if it's even open) so I'll get my trip started off with a girl that I know without depending on a club being open.
Rest of the week: I'll probably go to Scandallo most nights but from recent posts here it sounds like maybe I should try Gauguin too. I'm ok to pay average Scandallo rates and I learned my lesson last time that the girls start at multiples of what they'll settle for. So this time I'll just propose a rate to them (1000-1500/ hour, 2000-2500 all-night at Scandallo. 50-70% of that at Gauguin) instead of asking the girl how much she wants. I'm looking forward to trying Gauguin too but as an infrequent visitor I don't know if I'd venture to other places since I'm willing to pay for a higher quality of the girls and facilities.
I'm curious about meeting girls outside of the big clubs too (seeking, etc) - but it sounds like since I don't speak Portuguese I would be at a disadvantage or would have to put in some time and effort to find the right girls and negotiate. Of course make sure to decline conversion. That is just a scam all ATMs do. THAT is a huge unnecessary fee you won't get back. Always decline / cancel conversion.

When u come in the lobby go to the escalator on the right and down a floor. Then take a U turn and u will find it on your left.
Quick note, last night Uber was charging minimum 50+ reals on all options to go to Rua Augusta. InDrive's offer came out to be 27 for the same ride. So just be aware that this can be a money saving option if you feel Uber's prices look ridiculous. Besides cash, there's an option for "card machine". I was last in Rio almost ten years ago. Had a great time going to 4 x4 a few times, as well as a daytime "apt" which I think was Prazer. Also had a great time at Ipanema beach, and Lapa at night.
Wherever you visit Brazil, almost all the flights go through Sao Paolo, so it is very easy to stop there on the way in or out, for a quick 2-3 days of punting. Rio usually requires an extra flight, for which there are less options. I have heard so much about Scandallo over the years. It seems that many consider it the best venue in the world. I would like to see it as a bucket list thing, but for actually partaking, it would be out of my price range. I was thinking more in the R500-1000 range.
One of the recent posts has mentioned a Scandallo lite, and I would be looking for venues like that. Daytime massage / apartments are ok for some extra action, but I really enjoy the night venues more. With Rio I can enjoy time at the beach or hiking. If I went to Sao Paolo, it would be purely for punting, so it has to be good. I hear so much about Scandallo, but not much else. If 4 x4 is similar to what it was a decade ago, I would be happy just going there everyday.

Ok. First Cane is spot on. If going for girls venue absolutely no contest. SP wins hands down. Not even same ballpark.
He is also right that you CANNOT miss Scandallo if you are in SP. You will forever regret it. There is no other. Here is how to do it on a budget:
1. Make sure to avoid a night with a big artist. Cover is way higher. You can tell by their Instagram.
2. Go before 7 to avoid the extra cover. Before 7 should be 300 R (or 400?) all consumable.
3. Drink beers. Like coronas. Theses are like 60 R. You can have 1 an hour, stay till 12 and offset against your 300 R consumable.
4. Bounce to Casarao. Get a girl there for 500 (ish). It's great fun Wed-Sat after 12.
So you spent a total of $60 US at Scan, got to experience Scandallo and fucked a Casarao hottie to close out the night.
That said, given the once in a decade opportunity, you could absolutely take a hottie at Scan for 1000 R (totally doable) plus 350 R room. For maybe $100 more than Casarao Id say make this onetime extra spend. You can afford it.
The other day you can do Gauguin (GG) and have the Scan miniature experience at one venue.
P.S. If you loved 4 x4 you will be blown away. 4 x4 club area is about 1/3 the size of just the restaurant at Scan! 😜.

I would strongly advise our OP to take a moderate approach to visiting Scan IE not to take the budgetary route or the VIP let the money flow route. Everything should be focused on having the best time possible without selling the family jewels or settling for lesser quality.
1. Show up no earlier than 8:30 pm. Yeah, it costs a little more, so what, it is worth it. Before 8:30 the bordello usually has only a small percentage of the girls that will arrive in the next 2 hours and the entertainment bar and courtyard bar are usually closed until 9 pm or 9:30 pm. What's the point of going early if the majority of Scan girls have not arrived yet.
2. Drink as you normally would in a girly bar pickup situation. I start off with a coke light and then walk around. When I find a girl that interests me, I start a conversation, and if that goes well, I will offer her a drink. I am using up the consumable portion of the entrance fee, but who cares. If the girl doesn't wow me during the interview I move on and find someone better. That's another two drinks on the tab, part of being on the hunt. It does not matter.

So, here is where Steve and I part company. I would strongly advise our OP to take a moderate approach to visiting Scan IE not to take the budgetary route or the VIP let the money flow route. Everything should be focused on having the best time possible without selling the family jewels or settling for lesser quality.It appears Steve was dealing with the OP's noted budget range. We've all been reading Steve's posts for several years. He's going to spend when the mongering opportunity presents itself. Scandallo is certainly a great mongering opportunity when in SP.

SP I've visited 4 times in past 8 months. That tells you enough about SP.
Preaching to the choir. Do scandallo.
But don't spend all your money there.
Spend some money in Casarao it'll go farther.
Do daytime clinicas just because you can.

A search for Scandallo in the Casas Noturnas. Boates - SP section shows that it is mentioned 129 times in posts about other clubs yet when you look at the posts Scandallo is replaced by "*********".
