Final thoughts on San Jose:
It was a seeking putas and eating good food trip. I was told several parts of San Jose were unsafe. The area around Pension Portugesa was quite shady, but not dangerous, IMHO. Other than that area, I thought the city was quite safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. But then again, I took a lot of Ubers throughout the city at night.
Would I ever return to San Jose? YES, I felt I barely scratched the surface of the city; especially the pensions and other places to eat. Overall, I had a great time! Would I recommend it to other mongers? Absolutely!

When I arrived in San Jose- Taxis quotes $40 to the Taormina. Uber app was $27. I chose to rent a car at Budget ($169 for 4 days)($1000 deposit that I got back within 24 hours.
I like the "Hunt" when I travel, so I go to places where local girls are that are not in the lady of the night scene, and I try to pick them up. It is far way cheaper. If I have no luck, then I point and click at the Taormina.
I checked into the Taormina around 11 am, and there were about 5 girls there Between 4's-7's.

All rooms have wooden floors now, they took all of the carpet out of the rooms and replaced with wood. They charge you $15 per girl you take to your room, $30 if she stays the night. I pay in Colones which is 7211 in colones, they usually just accept the 7,000 colones. The free breakfast is now a buffet. And it's a cook there to make you an omelet of your choice. Very good breakfast. If you have a car, you park underneath the hotel on level SL the 24 hour security guard lets you in and out. The elevator goes directly to your hotel floor. The later it gets the more packed it be. Midnight they had maybe 60 girls in there. One night I woke up and went down stairs at 3 am and it was packed with girls. Taormina is a whole nother vibe! And every girl said yes to $80 or 4,000 colones.

My price is always $80 or 4,000 colones And I let then choose which one. Sometimes they will hesitate or say why not 100, and I politely smile and say that's my price, and I have not had one girl in the taormina say no. I like to take pictures and videos and many of them will not allow that. Once they agree on my price and are in my room, I offer $100 if they let me take pics or videos. They always allow but some with some restrictions and others with none, some will say just don't get my face, some will say no videos but you can pics, some you can do whatever. It all depends on the girl but most importantly, the cash. The range of girls I seen was 5's-10's. Everything and anything you want was in there and this was during the slow weekdays. Just my opinion- You can usually tell by a girls vibe with you and their personality if you are going to have a good time or not. She might not be the best at what she does but she will give you HER BEST! That's all I expect, is the girl to give her best effort. If you want GFE, then Always talk to the girl before you discuss pricing, by her a drink, If you make it transactional, then she will also and will be watching the clock.

I always go the mall to get Colones as there is a bank (Banco Popular) and atms in there with better rates than at the airport. And Girls, girls, girls. And they are nonpro girls. I arrived at the San Pedro mall a little after 11 am, the mall had just opened. It has 3 levels. And a lot young chicas working at the stores and food court. Because they had just opened, it was not crowded, and you could have good conversations with the girls without being interrupted. Their food court has burger king, taco bell, subway, pizza hut etc.(I ate lunch at the mall every day).
I met 4 chics and exchanged whatsapp #. One was a student that was there searching for a job. The other 2 worked in the food court and the 4th worked at lingerie store. They were all 7's-8's.
Then I stopped in the screen repair shop named Genius Phone Store to get my screen replaced. The girl there was BAD!! Easy 10. But I had a huge problem. I whatappd the food court girl and we made plans to meet for lunch at 4 after her shift. I told her that I wanted Authentic Costa rican food, she replied that's mainly beans and rice and stuff, I said ok lets do that. She said to meet her at Nuestra Tierra. I ubered her there, and she was an easy 9, with no makeup and tall.
My First L- I couldn't read the menu so I told her to pick my meal and drink.
She had seafood pasta, I had Salmon with Cream sauce, we both had some type of margarita I believe and a spicy shrimp appetizer. The food was good, and the drinks were good and it was very crowded. They also had live music two guys singing and playing a psalmodikon and a guitar.
The bill came and it was $194 (97,166) Our actually food / beverage was.
Subtotal 66,150. 00. I. V. A- 9,200.50. Servivio- 7,815.50. Efectivo Contado- 14,000 for a grand total of 97,166. 00, I asked the girl what are these charges and she looked very stunned and said that she always wanted to go there but never have and she stated that she didn't know it was that expensive. I was shocked as this place was packed but it didn't seem to be that pricey. She could tell I was a little upset, so she said lets go to your hotel. As I pull up to the taormina, she says No, no,no, no. I do not go in there, I am not a working girl in there. So I put in hotel and the Delta Marriott was right there on the corner and I am an Awards member so went there and booked the room and wow this hotel was not what I expected in that location. Nice hotel, Bar on second floor, indoor pool on the 2nd floor and very nice restaurant. We had drinks watched Netflix talked and sexed 3 times and she was an animal and did everything I wanted- full GFE experience, I was worn out. I ordered her an uber around 10:30 pm, she didn't ask for any mone only an uber ride back home but I gave her $100 for an outfit for our next date, and she gave me the biggest hug and wet ass tongue kissand I went to sleep didn't even make it back to the taormina. So first day I was out 194-lunch, 100-her, 121- marriott hotel extra room. BUT, she made it well worth it.
Monday checked out of Marriott, and headed over to Taormina around 11 am, it was about 7 girls. One had a huge BBL, which I don't like but she was very pretty, so I said what the hell. I told her my price she said ok and off we went. I was surprised because most BBL girls that in have encounterd are terrible at sex, but was great. Sent her off, cleaned up and then I wanted to go explore.
I came out of the taormina and made right then made quick left, and right there on the corner was Little Havana Pension, Its open from 10 am-2 am. I went to the bar to have a drink, and there was about 4 girls there, late 20's, early 30's around 6's /7's. But the bartender was very nice 9. 5 only because no chest. I ordered some fries and wings which was also very good and cheap. Two girls approached me and both offered service for $100 without condom which I declined. They have several rooms in the bar that looks ok and clean. The bartender also said they get packed on Friday and Saturday nights as they have karaoke. Also next door is a pizza place called Gilberts Pizza- very good!
I went back to the hotel and got the rental and went to Monicas- it was about 10 girls in there from 6's-8's, and I would smash all of them, I choose the blonde hair slim chic, you pay the receptionist – I meant to write it down but I believe it was $45 for the hour. Considering cost aside, I was wondering if there is any truth to it?

Thanks in advance.I stayed 6 nights at the Taormina a month ago. On my last trip I was in Jaco at the cocal. So the Taromina chicas were much less churn and burn than the Cocal in Jaco. The service level was much better In San Jose than Jaco. I was quoted $300 by a very attractive chica which came down to $150 without asking I was paying $100 (I am not a good negociater) a chica Next trip I may spend final 3 nights at the Barcelo after I get my contacts at Taormina. Just be prepared to recieve RFM's from every chica you exchange info with. I just tell them I am saving my money for the next trip down.

Wow this wasa great read and review. I was looking to see if I should return to Colombia or visit another country. Other reports about CR say its not even top 10 for mongering but your review says otherwise.

CR is convenient and easy. It hasn't been great for years.

But you can get good massages from massage therapists and go somewhere else for sex. As for Jaco others may chime in. I don't go there. Last time was maybe 10 years ago.

Last time was maybe 10 years ago.Just wrapping up a trip in San Jose. What Zeos said about Pensions is correct. Check out Pension Monica as they give massages plus extra. It's one of the larger pensions so you should have a better selection of chicas. The hotel I stayed at Taormina had a spa. Also near the hotel there were two massage places. I saw prices for $40-$80. I will post a review with more info this weekend.

San Jose. I had been to CR a couple of times on vacation but this was mt first mongering trip. I speak basic Spanish and can have conversations with chicas no problem. Middle aged not many gray hairs and no gut. Most chicas think I am 45 so problems I look around 50. This year I visited Panama City and San Marteen. IMO both of these places are better than CR for combination of chicas plus places to stay and things to do. I have never been to Columbia or Brazil. Planning a trip to Brazil this fall.
Here is what you need to know:
- I stayed at the Taormina. Staff is good and good free breakfast. Probably the best place to stay in centro San Jose. There are not a lot of nice places to stay plus with Taormina you have easy access to chicas. The exterior walls facing the street had no soundproofing. As a result the first two nights had terrible sleep and I asked for a new room. The manager was great and had no problem moving me. So make sure you get a room on 3rd or 4th floor with no street traffic. It's the side opposite the entrance.
- Room at Taormina had a sign not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. There was a small trash can with a lid next to the toilet. That is way too third world for me. Fuck that I flushed the toilet paper. But made sure not to use too much. No problem.
- Used eSIM from Nomad $25 for 10 GB, 5 GB probably would have worked.
- Buy condoms! Was in the room with my first chica and she asks if I have condoms. I was like: WTF. Yes the chicas at Taormina don't appear to have condoms. I had to call the bar and have condoms delivered to my room. LOL.
- Uber is the best form of transport. However, they are prohibited at the airport so may be hard to get one. If you take a taxi negotiate a fee up front as meters are not used. My taxi to the hotel was $35, Uber from hotel to airport was $30. I had to sit with Uber driver in front so we looked like regular commuters.
- Impressed with talent at Taormina. Many hotties, mostly Nicas and Ticas, few Columbiana. Better in my opinion than Panama and San Marteen.
- Taormina breakdown: The sports bar is small with columns and closed spaced tables so hard to see the full space. It's a small counter with about 8-9 chairs. Nice as a bar as it has many TVs. There is also the Jungle bar, which is huge and cool but was empty until Wednesday night. The pick ups happen in the small sports bar. On Monday hit the bar at 9 am and I was impressed with the talent. Make sure to pay in colones. The first time I paid in usd and the waitress really hosed up my change and had to tell her she over charged me by 5 dollars. A lot of the chicas come in pairs. That is no bueno for the solo monger as they often don't want to split off. I saw a lot of groups of dudes and chicas. Chicas looking at there phones and coming and going. This was amazing to me as other places I have been girls swarmed you the minute you sit down. Here is my take: this is not a tourist only location. There are a lot of chicas looking for local dudes. I think they also have local regulars. They also work side gigs as strippers. There is a local criminal crowd as I saw some of the locals are young flashy hoodlums, I. E. Drug dealers. So you may have to wait a while to get a hit. It just depends. It was not just me as I saw a lot of other young dudes sitting alone for a while. The longest it took me was 25 minutes on my first night (Monday) sipping on two beers. But the chica I got with was very fine and 8 for sure. Short petite, blonde dyed hair, thin, big man mades, nice round bubble butt. Totally thought she was a Columbiana but she said she was a Tica. I was in the bar around noon, 9 pm, 10 pm and 12:30 am. At 12:30 am Tuesday 15 chicas but low looks, total of 4 guys including me. I despaired finding a hottie and then Columbiana Tica tapped me on the shoulder. Yep did her again better then first time. Another time I walking to the elevator and popped my head around the corner to see who was in the bar and solid 7 immediately propped me to go with her. Unfortunately I just blew at Pension Monica and was in reload mode. Got her name for later.
- Rates at Taormina HR $100 +20-25 for extras like BBBJ. I had multiple girls quote $150/ HR with extras. Even had one refuse to come down from $150. $15 per girl to take back to room.
- Sportsman's is the expat / foreigner place to hang. More laid back for a beer. Talked to a sweet older chica who spoke good English around 1 pm on Wednesday. Was too old for me.
- Go to Pension Monica. Unfortunately many pensions were closed for holiday. Monica's was open but only 2 girls in the afternoon. Took the less hefty chica, thicker than I like but she was young and sweet. I made the right choice as she had great head game and decent massage. Clean room and good shower. Cost in colones 30000+10000 BBBJ. Well worth it.
- Dude named Christian hangs at Taormina and will bug you at breakfast every morning for a shoe shine. I took him up finally and he did a good job but asked for 40000 colones / $80. Said get the fuck out of here and gave him 5000.
- Little Havana pension / bar / hotel is good. Small place 3 chicas, one was a 7. Talked and had some beers but did not pull a lady was too early in the afternoon.
- I ate well. Check out Jardíand a Lolita. It's a place with many small restaurants and bars, like a food court but upscale. Gilbertas pizza between Little Havana, Taormina is good. Chimposo's street food was good.
Overall good trip. But other places I have been in Latin America I liked better. I would have liked to explore outside more of Taormina if I had more time. San Jose is a little too third world for me and was not a huge fan of the Taormina bar vibe. May be better to day hunt if I didn't work two days. Plus did not realize day before Good Friday was a Holiday.
- Room at Taormina had a sign not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. There was a small trash can with a lid next to the toilet. That is way too third world for me. Yes, some 3 d world countries do not have toilet paper. However, away from civilization is where you get your finest, most innocent young ladies! Watch out if you go to the Philippines and are in the province away from the big cities. Some of the men have sex with dogs in the bathrooms and this is a public nuisance. True.
Philippine Airlines stamps the toilet paper rolls in their cabins with a bright blue ink, saying "Philippine Airlines. " That is so the passengers and crew members do not steal the toilet paper and take it home with them. True.

They are charging what the market will bear. The seasonal effect may be felt any time now as demand from US / Canada slows during the northern summer. But they will only lower prices when they have empty rooms would be my guess.
