Was in Sosua the weekend of September 20th, was very slow yes there were Chicas, but I didn't see anything interesting, I had my main Chica stay with me the entire trip, but I can say the place looked dull, the most Chica I saw the entire trip was at the casino Friday night a lot of them came out but otherwise the strip was quiet.

I never had a problem with Scotiabank ATM in Cabarete, but that is attached to the bank branch there.I can concur with Oakie's experience at the Super Pola Scotia bank machine, in fact there are 2 or 3 other bank ATM machines there and my luck with them always been poor. Best bet for sure is Banco Popular ATM just past Bailees restaurant.

Thats unfortunate what happened to you at La Nacional in PP. I just used that ATM machine about 2 weeks ago. Noticed that the machine was brand new. I was able to withdraw 60 k pesos total. 3 transactions of 20 k pesos each. 150 pesos per withdrawal. No issues or errors.
The only issue I had, is that the machine would not let me make a fourth 20 k withdrawal, like I've done in the past. Three 20 k transactions was their limit. In the past, I made as many as four 30 k withdrawals on their ATM machine with no ATM fee. That was not guaranteed. Sometimes I got away with two 30 k withdrawals, and the machine would only allow me to continue with a lower withdrawal amount. Like 20 k.Thank you. Just to be clear, I had my 'experience' with La Nacional ATM attached to their branch in Calle Beller in Puerto Plata. Looks like there is one more near / at La Sirena so I will try that out next time.

Some seriously big spenders will in town, with pre-arranged set ups, villas, hotels and most of the high end local talent.
The FL market is geting to be more and more based on connections on line like everything else. The hot pros and GFE's I know are usually locked down for a few days, you won't see them on the street looking for customers.
The ones that are on the stroll are usually the more hardened pros with little repeat business.
That said, there'll be hundreds to choose from and there'll always be a few fresh faces and asses, new to the game. But as I've said many times before, if you see one out and about who, say, on the Thursday, and you'd really, really, like to fuck her, make a connection at the time, because likely she'll be snapped up by weekend and you won't see her on the street again.

It picked up way more than 2019 levels in 2022 through 2024 - the 23/24 winter was the busiest most bar owners ever reported- - this summer was as dead as I have ever seen it. This winter it should be rocking more than last. I guess my point is that if you are there for a brief time -outside of the obvious big weekends- you will get the luck of the draw on the level of activity. Whether it is dead or whether it's jumping. The good / bad time you have will depend on your luck finding good girls or good company generally. So, the Sosua scene is as good as ever?For me it is ! Because I do what so many others have references, I stick with my regulars for the most part. I cannot speak to the experiences of people that are new to the Sosua scene.

I just spent three weeks in Sosua. I used to spend six months a year there but I moved on. I had a great time but I can certainly understand why people have soured on it but at the same time there is still plenty of fun to be had. I don't take street girls so I can't comment on performance or prices by them. I'll just touch on a few things.
The police are rounding up Haitians by the truck load constantly, there are still some around but not like before and many of the ones that I personally know will not go out on the street because they know that they will eventually get picked up.
Somebody on this board mentioned that the police are now going into bars. That is 100% true. I was in Bar Central one night and they marched right in there and arrested two girls. Here's the fucked up part and I heard about this but did not believe it until I saw it. The new bullshit excuse to pick up a girl is some kind of dress code. The two girls that were pulled out of Bar Central were dressed normally and they busted them for it. They let them go eventually so it's just a scare tactic to cut down on the number of girls on the street. There is a woman cop of some special authority that marches down the street with an army of police and she just points at a girl and they get handcuffed, it's total bullshit.
I don't drink that much these days but when I do I drink to get drunk and I got shitfaced one night in Central and a girl named Nairobi who is a well known street rat pick poceted me, rookie mistake and I own it. Just before closing time I was sitting at the bar and she came up and sat next to me. She put her hand on my leg and I somewhat forcefully pushed it away. She did it again and it felt like she was tickling my leg but in hindsight she was inside my pocket pulling my money out of me bill holder. I didn't realize it until it was time to pay my bill and I had no money and they don't take cards, the **** didn't take my cards. The bartender had to walk me all the way down Pedro see. So I could go to an ATM and get pesos. First time in over 20 years of mongering that I have been robbed but like I said, I own it, my bad, whatever. Please save your advise or criticism for someone else because I know what I did wrong and it is the first time in my 67 years that I have been robbed, not a bad track record.

We all know of say, restaurants, in our home town, that just have a bad rep. No matter how many new owners come in, spend money to renovate, change menus, they always seem to fail. 19 days in Sosua. 19 days too long. I could never understand people who would travel for 4 days. But I think that's perfect for sosua. I got bored and with it raining every day became annoying along with disappointing chick's. Though all were not disappointing. But disappointing enough for me to repeat my 7 year absences again. I must say Friday maybe due to the Tyson and paul fight had an outstanding turnout. But I bang a Santiago chick with a nice Body which was really the only treat cause she was just okay. But once I nutted I was done for the night and Sosua is not the place to force a second nut. The next day I was elated to get on my flight to the united states. I wanted to get some 20 K early in the morning and went to the casino near Sosua beach (based on my previous experience). This time the security guard was like oh we are closed, blah blah so I gave him a 100 to let me in. Which turned out to be a waste because the fees this time for 20 k was 1155 pesos. I noped out of there and at the 100 peso loss and pulled 15 k from a Popular ATM in Santiago later that day for the standard fee of 300 pesos.
I also noticed a few young ones sitting on the steps of the casino after a night in from what looks to be the disco inside and they had put a lot of trash on the steps.

The number of cruise lines using Puerto Plata have increased significantly. This may be part of the motivation to modernize the beach facilities. This could increase foot traffic on the beach and the streets of Sosua. Only time will tell but money is being spent. These changes should not affect night life but who can say.

I am pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Alicia. I got one of the bungalow rooms by the pool. Good size room, good location, comfortable bed and nice size shower with plenty of hot water. I usually stay at the New Garden but their prices seem to have increased so I figured I'd try something new.
I was near zombie mode after the long travel day and I knew I wasn't going to pull anyone but did head down to the strip around Bar Central around 8 pm to get something to eat and a couple of beers before crashing.
There was the usual assortment of overweight, aggressive girls out but there was a surprising number of cuter, young flacas working the street and the bars. It was a Friday night so I am not getting too optimistic but will definitely head back down there tonight.

In Sosua, or DR in general, you definitely need to learn Spanish. I was in Santo Domingo and Boca Chica and felt like an alien because there were no signs in English and no one speaking english. I couldn't even order a coffee if I wanted and the ATMs didn't work either (US banks do not accept ATM requests from every random ATM you use).
It was only until I got to Sosua did I find english tailored and speaking businesses. Even the working girls didn't speak fluent english.
That was a huge reality check for me. Dubai and Thailand are my frequent destinations, but if I ever go back to DR or Colombia I plan to learn the language.

It's a business model quite common in the Sosua bar business. Local with connections who knows what he is doing builds up a strong clientele.

Thought I might chime in since we're running down memory lane. Reading all these posts on Classicos makes me wish I could've been there. Closest thing I can think of goes back to 2004 when I was in my early twenties. I had a 12-hour overnight layover in Bangkok, so I went to the Soi Cowboy for the first time. I literally had five girls on me at once, and that was in the street. All of them rubbing, grabbing, or pulling me toward their respective bar. It was one of those times you think, "You got to be shitting me. " Met an Aussie in one of the bars who showed me the ropes, and then went to town. Didn't sleep that night and nearly missed my flight in the morning. I've mongered on six continents (including a trip to PNG, but I wouldn't recommend it for the girls), and that one night in Bangkok took the cake. Haven't been there since, so don't know how it is today. The bar fines were extremely cheap, and the girls never said no, everything was on the table.
As for Sosua, I love it there. Even with all the places I've been, it's still one of my favorites. You can't beat the small friendly beach town feel. My last trip (six months ago) was fantastic, and I'll be heading down again this year. I'm very outgoing and can speak conversational Spanish, so that really helps the sessions. I'm always smiling and cracking jokes, and the girls get relaxed around me. I like to hang with locals just as much as other tourists. In the street, bars, or beach. Some of my best memories are sitting in a plastic chair on Pedro passing around a bottle of Brugal with local Dominicans till midnight, calling girls over as they pass by and having them sit on my lap, crack a joke or two, and maybe grab contact info. I take my time and pull at least one new girl every night. The sessions are good, only one from the last trip would I call a 5/10. Reading all these posts on Classicos makes me wish I could've been there. Closest thing I can think of goes back to 2004 when I was in my early twenties.
