I reported extensively that it was extremely slow during the high season not only in Sosua but also in Santo Domingo and I was very disappointed because I was expecting it too be lit. I'm actually a bigger fan of Santo Domingo but I couldn't deal with the shady characters operating and only targeting folks believing to be Gringo'.
But hey keep us updated on the change in volume of tourists.

Planning a trip to PC and wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation for an agency? I a bunch I can see serve most of the DR but its hard to know what's legit or not and I can't seem to find any reliable reviews.

Normally flights to POP from DC area are $600 to $800 round trip. First impressions of Sosua:
You need an E-Ticket to enter the Dominican Republic. They didn't ask for it at check in, they asked for it at the gate. Where there was bad WiFi, and then the app failed.
I took the bus from Santo Domingo. It was cheap, and the ride wasn't too long.
There are tons of doable ladies walking around, I was hit up constantly. Rio had very few doable ladies on the street andmost had boyfriends with them. Medellíand had a handful of Miss Universe types, but they were civvies. The working girls were 5's to 7's. Pattaya has a comparable number of ladies on the street, but not in the same class as Sosua ladies.
A surprising number of non-US tourists here, I am hearing a lot of French.
Unlike Thailand, Sosua is not so user friendly. I had to walk a kilometer to buy a bottle of water. Some ATMs cannot do international transactions, and the most common can't handle a 6 digit PIN. Let's hope my cash doesn't run out. Or that I can find an exchange place.

ATM's are notoriously unreliable here the one most reliable is Popular next to Baylee's.
Money changers are everywhere and the guys opposite Baylee's' are competitive. But you need to know something about current bank rates before you pull the trigger. Best to get a few rate quotes so you'll know what your talking about, and they'll always sweeten the offer a little For a peso or two more the Kiosks will give to a decent rate, and a receipt. In both cases count your money twice before you leave. But my advice is to use an ATM. You'll get local currency at the minimum rate from your bank. See above comment on ATM's.
A bottle of water can be bought at any bar for loose change, and a smile to a server could get you a free cup of water with ice, if you drink it there.

The E Ticket is not new, required for at least 4 years now.
ATM's are notoriously unreliable here the one most reliable is Popular next to Baylee's.
Money changers are everywhere and the guys opposite Baylee's' are competitive. But you need to know something about current bank rates before you pull the trigger. Best to get a few rate quotes so you'll know what your talking about, and they'll always sweeten the offer a little For a peso or two more the Kiosks will give to a decent rate, and a receipt. In both cases count your money twice before you leave. But my advice is to use an ATM. You'll get local currency at the minimum rate from your bank. See above comment on ATM's.
A bottle of water can be bought at any bar for loose change, and a smile to a server could get you a free cup of water with ice, if you drink it there.

It is basic routine customs paperwork (well now electonic work). No more need for someone to report on that than for them to report on packing a suitcase. The lady there will scan your priority pass card and get you right to the front of the Immigration line and then escort you as you get your bags and she will put you in the front of the line again to walk through Customs.
She said the program has been around for a long time and is at all major DR airports, but I had never seen it.

I drove in from Santiago stopping in Maimon to eat some fish. They put in on the scale and charged by weight. Damn the prices have gone up it seems. I got to Sosua and had to look for a place. I stopped in Europa but the lady said $60. I told her online it says $50. She said those are posted by independent owners of certain rooms.
I met a chick online who is a school teacher and lives in Lower Sosua. When she finished work, I went to pick her up and we went to Cabarete. I actually like Cabarete. It was romantic eating on the beach at dusk and the place was really cheap. A pina colada there was 250 versus the 550 ripoff the day before at Playa Punta Rucia with my girl in Santiago. I think the ice cream we had at Bon after was more expensive than the food and drinks on the beach.
We went back to my hotel and watched Old School on my projector. We had planned to watch 40 Year Old Virgin, but I did not have it on my tablet as I thought. My room was nice. It was well away from the strip. She had actually requested I get a place far away because she did not want people to think she was a hooker. I found the hotel on booking, but instead of booking it, went there to bargain with the owner. He lives in Florida and security had to call him on the phone. I got the best room there for $45. I don'think anyone can disagree that theres an abundance of scamming chicas in sosua due to the independence of the freelancers without anyone to answer to and knowing that we don't want any problems at the rental leaves us very vvulnerable. They are going to promise you 2 hours but be ready to go after 15 minutes. Agree to 2000, but at the end say 4000. They are going to steal your shit. They are going to rush you to finish. They are going to want 400 pesos for a 50 peso motorbike taxi ride. Everybody knows this including you. You are acting like you have never been there before. Sosua has been this way for the last 15 years. It has not gone back to the Old Sosua before that. Any other changes are going to be for the worst, not the better.

Sosua Update
I'm currently in Sosua, I can tell you guys this things changed up some since my last visit. I noticed several businesses has closed and new businesses opened. Strange enough they have 2 cosmetic density buildings on Dr. Rosen that are rather busy with both locals and foreigners. Not that many tourists here the average age for a tourist is around 45. Blue Ice barely has any customers Rumbas always have their loyal fan based. The German bars has its fan bases per our pervious post 60% Haitian women work that post in front of that bar is being pimp by the Germans. The women are not that bad looking but not many big butt chicks other here. 5000 pesos seems to be the average price asked by most women who have killer bodies and 4000 is what most will accept. One of my regulars refused to give me a discount. She told me shit been slow for her over a year. Many girls out here looks underage but surprisingly their ID contradicts things tons of police been outside lately. I spoke to one cop he told me it been an increase amount of violence between the chicas and their dates over money and they are her to protect people. A lot of stealing and up selling going on tourism has been on the decline because of that. Most of the girls tells me they hate playa Chiquita Casino because it's too slow, the food, drinks and moto taxi is too much taken out of their budget.And:

Few things about Sosua
You have Haitian guys trying to sell you counterfeit headphones and phone chargers that are factory sealed. I'll be cautious buying something from those guys because sometimes it might not be shit inside of that box, those guys are extremely persistent about 60% annoying as Boca Chica. I noticed that it was this one Haitian guy who was a quote on quote whom I had the unfortunate opportunity to keep running into him whenever I leave a restaurant or store with his ho. And he kept trying to introduce me to her. I almost slap his ass in front of her.
Expect to be charged more for pedicures, manicures and massages than what was discussed without extra services being conducted. I went to three different places to get each service done. I was charged an extra 200-450 pesos this one woman told me she had to charge me extra than what was discussed was because it has been very slow and she has to make up for last revenue. On Pedro Clisante not on the strip but near the liquor store by the banks. It used to be a Dominican place that used to sell cheap hot fresh meals (cash only) well they remodeled the building and the end result is that the place no longer sells hotel fresh meals but old meals that taste stale and to make matters worse I broke my teeth on some fried chicken. I had to stick with Rumbas and Coco Loco for my food supply. Franisca at Coco Loco is starting to get kinda chubby but she still looks ass looks incredible in those blue jeans she was wearing I asked about bare sex from several women they told me that it has been a outbreak of syphilis among the women so everyone has their guard up. I don't know it's true or not no condom sex was impossible to get even from the Dominicans! Don't judge guys who participated in such activities from time to time. I was glad they had lighting by the German bars now and the police was very close by too! Way too many trannies out that night and the pickpocketed didn't have that infamous cover of darkness anymore.
I rarely get down to the strip at night anymore but I was there a couple of nights ago, and it was crazy, the number of mongers and chicas. Thriving and vibing almost like old times.
Me and Princessa dropped in to see my old friend Rosa at her little bar across from Rocky's. She used to manage my fave hangout spot the Bermuda bar on the main corner. I just tell them if they are in town, drop in to Rosa's and she has my number. Depending on who it is, I can be their in 15 minutes.
For me, who's been on the road all my life, there's something special about belonging to a place and the people, as opposed to looking at it all thru a window. Terminal health problems and family in Canada are the only reasons I'd give up my DR if it comes to that!
But sitting there with my honey and a cold Presidente Lite, it was like old times. Dr Rosen was busy and I wouldn't even try to count the number of chicas on the stroll.
There's definitely a noticeable change in the average monger. If you have any kind of balls the scammers avoid you. I have been to Sosua more times then I can count. Bedded a few 100 girls and have had 3 bad experiences. The vast majority of girls are part timers that show up on the weekends. Many are teachers, nurses and good moms. If you chose a hardcore pro most of the time you get what you pay for. However after many years on the stroll they will rip you off if you are slipping. Getting drunk or to high is a great way to get rolled. Sosua is a week end party now. Most girls roll in on Thursdays and out Sunday. They are not looking for problems. Mr E seems to like the cheap pussy which is where the scammers are. When girls are Low balled they feel disrespected. By in large if girls are satisfied with the price you negotiate things are smooth in my experience. A couple of weekends ago our dedicated publico driver (cracked windshield and all, LOL) took us to Playa Grande about 8 km East of Rio San Juan. It's a cheap and cheerful Dominican version of Cabarete. Good beach, lots of restaurants and great cooked to order seafood. A place where I came back nicely surprised at how little it all cost. Meals (I had lobster) and beer for us two and our driver, around 4000 p, taxi 3500 p there and back and he spent 9 hours with us.
Last weekend it was birthday time again. This time no grande fiesta, I told Princesa, just you and me (and our driver LOL) for a good dinner. I recommended Michaels in Charamicos, or the new Baylee's spot, but she wanted me to see more of the Puerto Plata area she knows well. Oh, ok!

Again another surprise. We got there at 7 O'clock Friday Night, the place was empty, and so were the restaurants. Where is everybody? Princessa's recommendation, a huge restaurant, had one table only occupied, no trouble parking, but a big kitchen and happy staff that looked like they knew what they were doing, so what the hell!
Great mea! They weren't busy so we had the staff at our table being entertained by our driver. They cooked a special sampler plate to order for me, all my favorites, and fresh whole fish for the others.
Meals and beer for 3, 3800 p. Taxi there and back 3000 p, 5 hours total.
We were supposed to hit the famous Miami bar on PP Malecon for drinks on the way back, but it has changed name and ownership and looked run down! We were happy with full bellies just to go home, but our driver was disappointed his night out had ended!

With the recent completion oi the new Marriot Five Star Ocean Club hotel, and the new luxurious Sky Lounge Bar and Restaurant with glass elevator, along with its Caribbean beaches, and diverse international cuisine, Sosua is gradually rising to become an international destination that now offers more than a two block stroll for cheap mongers.
The level of investment and renovation is at a pace never seen before, in my 15 years here. There's live music in most bars these days, especially on the weekends.
Fast rising real estate prices are increasing to keep pace with this new demand.
Monger hotels, are stuck in a time warp, and there's a limited market. Aanvi, the experiment in a huge version of New Garden / Europa / monger accommodations has failed miserably and closed down.

Hey guys, I haven't been to sosua since 2013, I know a lot has changed and I wanted to know what are the recent safe spots to go at night with the boys. Any recommendations for both sosua and puerto plata? Debating probably going puerto plata for one night just to meet reg girls if it's worth it or not. I know the strip is no longer an active place (even years ago), but are mongers simply heading to the beach during the days or finding chicas elsewhere? Most tourists stick with either Naco or Zona Colonial, Naco doesn't have a red light district but there's one close by and several of them to be exact. In Zona Colonial you'll rarely see thick big booty chicks working the area they're mostly slim. And you'll rarely meet any light skin (Indian women) working the strip if you do they are mostly from Colombia To get access to all of this you have to head to Sosua and you'll literally find whatever you like! Those with less experience operating here would do well to read, and pay attention, then put in to play the principles that my fellow "men in the arena" espouse like Mr. Coolie.
I experienced girls doing the same thing that you mentioned. Girls have invited me to their homes in East Las Vegas or have met in an off strip hotel for a fraction of the price they were charging their clientele on the strip.
But the only way you can do that is to be in Sosua on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. And for many of the visitors here that simply is not possible. I get told no in my negotiations at least 2 out 3 times. And at times it goes to 9 out of 10. That is with new girls. But I have built a strong bench of girls that know the deal and take what I give them and are happy for it. But I just cannot resist looking for new girls and seeing if I can get one to come on for the team price that allows me to stay under the salary cap. LOL!.
But when making comparisons with regular workers in the Dominican Republic that is where we part ways. I am not making excuses for the prices they are charging. But they are not normal workers. They are independent contractors. I am trying to give perspective to those that think there is "all this money" being made by these girls. And there is a social stigma that comes with it in the higher levels of society.

There's the average asking price,
3000-5000 for ST
4000-6000 for LT
But there's no good data on what a monger actually negotiates!, and your mileage will vary. Depends on the factors mentioned above.
I'd budget 3 to 5 k, most guys can find satisfaction within that range, and you may wind up another winner, and change left over!

1. No walking streets or red light districts. BKK and Pattaya give you easy point and play options that you have plan whole trips around.
Sure in Brazil you have termas but you can't stay there for hours on end. # of Girls won't be as high.
2. Longtime multiday and inter country travel is way easier in Thailand if that's your thing.
3. English is spoken.

I avoid the bad problems with service as I am able to speak Spanish and that adds to quality of my experiences with chicas. I also have regulars and referrals from people who enjoy Sousa but have long stopped posting in this thread due to the constant attacks on their posts from individuals who cannot STAND to have a negative world said about the place.
My position that in the world of International Trickin locations, Sousa is one of them. But there are better places.

P.S. The roundup won't be forever just like covid was NOT forever. As soon as DR realize that haitians have been the quiet undercurrent strong backbone of their economy for DECADES those roundups will quietly disappear. Folks are already complaining about about timeline for major construction being pushed back and / or put on hold simply because of the lack of workers and guess who the majority of the workers were. Sure wasnt dominicans. And now that jobs are available, dominicans don't won't to work that hard for that type of pay. So who you going to call to get the work done. Ghostbusters are retired and the folks that are willing to do the work are literally on the western half of the island. So yeah calm down. That haitian coco isn't going nowhere.
I have been to both countries. If a monger is more interested in the quality of the women over the quantity then Brazil blows Thailand away. If a monger values sexual service then there is no better country than Brazil.
