Another nail in coffin for Sosua?? 🤣Surely you jest LOL. You sound like another broken record that lives thru "the sky is falling" fear racket. I take it you were one of those guys that thought we ALL were going to die when covid hit so wore a mask in their own home living by themselves while taking their 3rd vaccine shot of the year. Meanwhile I was flying coast to coast in the US with nobody at the airports for $40 dollars each way chillin on a extra clean plane with mad space to myself. Or better yet lounged in Sosua with a poured cup of presidente in my hand with 2 chicas on my lap during the time when the government cut off drinking alcohol at 3 pm. Tio Oakie has the photos.Sosua was amazing during COVID. Basically business as usual, while the World was going through hell.
It's hard to get Dominicans to follow the rules, especially in the close community barrios, and aside from public buildings and the two Supermarkets with masks and social distancing, folks carried on as usual. There were lots of "bulletins" issued about the latest quarantine, and bar closings, but any bar with a kitchen just pulled down the shades and served their liquor in paper cups, while they waited for their "take out" LOL The cops would take a quick look around and move on. Hotels and condos with a bar were exempt from all rules. A lot of us never wore a mask, just used commonsense!
As a result, the DR mortality rate was a fraction of the power hungry Western authoritarian virtue signalling regimes.

P.S. The roundup won't be forever just like covid was NOT forever. As soon as DR realize that haitians have been the quiet undercurrent strong backbone of their economy for DECADES those roundups will quietly disappear. Folks are already complaining about about timeline for major construction being pushed back and / or put on hold simply because of the lack of workers and guess who the majority of the workers were. Sure wasnt dominicans. And now that jobs are available, dominicans don't won't to work that hard for that type of pay. So who you going to call to get the work done..The can't afford to stop the Haitians from coming in, they contribute so much to the economy, so they play the corrupt game of showing the flag once in a while, and I've seen servers and kitchen staff rounded up, and a week later they, or a new bunch just take their place. Sometimes I jump on here just for the entertainment value. This has to be the only thread on ISG where people argue over completely different destinations than the thread they're actually in. I wouldn't go to the Angola thread if I wanted to read up on Nigerian ass. We have a lunatic that talks about himself in the third person, a slew of people who put up negative posts yet still keep coming to the thread, and doom and gloom posters saying the Haitians will disappear forever. I swear, I need a bag of popcorn when I kick back to read this thread and watch the display. I've been all over this world and still keep coming back to Sosua because I love it there, and then I post about the good times. I genuinely have the best time when I come to Fantasy Island. There's a hell of a lot more here than the "same 25 worn out chicks" walking around. I've had some top talent here through the years that I'd put up against anywhere else in the world. For those who didn't have a good time in Sosua, maybe it's you and not the place. It's easy to point fingers. For the haters, why do you keep posting here? Go somewhere else. There are a handful of really solid posters in this thread, you know who you are. The rest just has to be filtered through. Personally, I'd like to see more trip reports with pics on Sosua, rather than hear about Thailand.

This is not only contradictory it's goes against what most people mention when you ask them the reason they still go when there are so many places better. You say the gripe with Sosua isn't the vibe or simplicity but the women. You then say the chicks are basically giving shitty service but the guys accept it because it better than the USA. To me what most people say about Sosua is that it's relatively safe easy to navigate and the camaraderie is what brings them back. Your comments suggest Sosua is great because of the chicks who you say give disappointing service.Folks if your a vet or have been in the hobby you know the pit falls and land mines of Sosua, the days of pussy served on a silver platta are gone that bus left the station long time ago, you got to earn your sosua stirpes! After a few trips add good chicas to your roster vet and vibe with chicas any red flags on to the next, its the guy that never mongered or dealt with working girls its a business transaction. Like any deal it could be good or bad, You can still have a good time just do your home work carry on be safe!

It's hard to get Dominicans to follow the rules, especially in the close community barrios, and aside from public buildings and the two Supermarkets with masks and social distancing, folks carried on as usual. There were lots of "bulletins" issued about the latest quarantine, and bar closings, but any bar with a kitchen just pulled down the shades and served their liquor in paper cups, while they waited for their "take out" LOL The cops would take a quick look around and move on. Hotels and condos with a bar were exempt from all rules. A lot of us never wore a mask, just used commonsense!

The sky fell on a lot of these naysayers a long time ago. If it's not COVID, it's Climate Change, End of Democracy, stock market never coming back, and that "epidemic of syphilis" in Sosua that never materialized.
Dominicans just laugh at girly men. (I know first hand from my three days in the carnacia (butchers shop) local clinic, where they don't use a local anaesthetic before stuffing all those tubes into me. I hollered like a stuck pig, but they were laughing, and I couldn't help laughing too, in spite of the pain.).

Planning a first time visit during the 2nd Week of May. There seems to be such a mixed bag on this place I have to go see for myself. Some buddies told me about Sosusa in 2013 but I wasn't sold. Been all over the globe with this hobby and met more than a handful of ISG'ers. From reports and these youtube creep cam videos it gives off somewhat of a clocktower night vibe mixed with BKK walking street thrown in.
TMBTS, is where I got most of the knowledge I plan to use on this trip. I'll be mixing in Diving time and chicas. Not 100% sure where I'm staying. I'm between AirBnb, Alicia Beach Hotel or somewhere beach front. Will be sure to post a good review with descriptions, prices, and times to get this thread back on track LOL.
Not a long time guy, just want my hour maybe 2 then adios. PM me if interested in grabbing a drink.
I'm not interested in visiting Thailand, never was!Yet, we continue to see some guys who have never been there comparing Sosua to Pattaya. Yet completely ignoring what others have to say about it from actual experience of visiting both places.

Pattaya is FAR superior to Sosua. But if ratchet ho's are your thing, knock yourself out. Sosua has got you covered.What keeps me coming back to Sosua?
I avoid the bad problems with service as I am able to speak Spanish and that adds to quality of my experiences with chicas. I also have regulars and referrals from people who enjoy Sousa but have long stopped posting in this thread due to the constant attacks on their posts from individuals who cannot STAND to have a negative world said about the place.
My position that in the world of International Trickin locations, Sousa is one of them. But there are better places.

And here it is supposedly the best country on earth (USA) where you can make a shit ton of money were panicking in the streets closing down everything waiting for everyone to die BUT you come to this little beach town and no one gave a shit. You were looked at as a serious weirdo if you wore a mask walking the beach. Down there you still shook a mans hand and didn't keep a 6-foot distance when speaking to a hunny dip like the cdc recommended.
The jewish settlers that founded that beach town chose wisely as this was their refuge to find sanity after they had to flee their home country during world war 2. And that little beach town proved itself again to be a mans destination to find sanity during an insane time when the world went crazy.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Sosua again. I'm an old-time Sosua person and used to love going out to the discotecas (that play salsa, merengue and bachata) dance all night with a bunch of beautiful women and then take one back to my place. I always say the best night of my life was in Sosua when I was walking back to the condo at 3:00 AM with my girlfriend (from the US) on one arm and probably the most gorgeous Haitian that I've ever seen on my other arm. I had not been there for about 6-7 years and last year was the first time that I had been back (and I was solo). At the beginning of my trip, I was sorely disappointed and probably wrote about it here. I'm not going to go back and read my posts from a year ago, but I know my biggest disappointment (almost as much as the ladies) were the number of extremely rude and inconsiderate men I met. In the past, we are all there for the same thing and were all friends, last year. It seemed like I was surrounded by men whose mamas didn't raise them right. My second biggest disappointment was that all of the places played American rap (and not even good rap) instead of the music that the locals listen to.
Towards the end of my trip, I got away from the strip and started going to places that were not inundated with street walkers and the men that love them and actually had a good time the last few days I was there. I actually sat and had decent conversations in my bad Spanish with more than a few women and I even took a few out to dinner. There was a Haitian owned bar about 1/2 mile away from the strip (the opposite direction of the main beach, maybe north?) and I actually danced salsa and merengue with more than a few women because no men were there. Anyway, once I got away from the strip, I met a few women that were actually able to pretend to be into me and took them on dates. I know what some of you are thinking, but I live in Seattle (and I say this a million times) a toothless crackhead is $300/ HR. So if I pay $30-40 bucks for dinner and drinks and give her $100 (I think I paid about $80-$100 on average for the lady). I'm not going to complain. I'll pay up to $150 without hesitation if she's attractive. I won't pay more than $50 for a girl on the strip though. I even found a strip club and spent some more time than necessary there (though I didn't know what bills to toss at the dancers) That was near the swingers place, I was completely surprised when I found it. Anyway, I'll be there for a week then head to Santo Domingo for 2 days and then I'm off to Peru for a couple of weeks. My first day or so, I'll be on the strip, simply because it is incredibly entertaining, but after that, I'm going to do what I did last year and just stay off the beaten path.

Sosua (DR was an Ally in WW2) is proud of its contribution and there's a Jewish Memorial Museum just off the strip. Two of their Main Streets, Dr. Rosen and David Stern are named after the founders.
I lost close relatives in that War, and last year I reminded folks on ISG, that next day was Remembrance Day, with a tip of the hat to those who served.
How about a day at the beach, with my non pro and semi pro pals? Might lighten the mood a little, and remind us of the important things in our hobby!

Coolie, checked the Haiti board just for shits, hasn't changed since last time I checked it nearly a year ago! Dead as a doornail. I was chatting with a girl from Port au prince on Badoo recently and she said coyotes are charging upwards to $500 to get them across the border. There's certainly incentive for them to go to Sosua and get that back.

What's the going rate with the chicas / services now? I'm guessing things got more expensive given all the current complaining and no trip posts.
I usually rely on the dating apps to line up girls. I already have 5 girls I'm talking to on Tinder. It's too much. My spanish is awful to negotiate on the street and its easier to coordinate / pick girls to my taste with the apps. Last time I was here, I straight up kept passing a translator app back and forth for one call date at Margots LOL. I'll be hitting her back up again.

On my last visit back in January 2025 the average rate requested was 4000 with many starting off with a 5000 offer. Very few was willing to accept 3000. Despite it being very slow most of the girls was walking away from a 4000 offer initially and later on that evening was going to take my 4000 offer and no lower.

Tonight, Saturday, they closed down the main street in Sosua to have church. It's now 9:30, all the bars are empty and there is someone on a stage in the middle of the street preaching while several hundred people are in attendance. Guys that are here for the weekend are pissed. Chicas have slowly been coming out, but this is a religious country and only the hardcore are out. I do have to say, they church pretty hard here.
If you're here now. Use Tinder, I arrived at 3 pm yesterday and have 15 messages and 150 likes so far.

Without getting into trouble about religion I'm completely uncertain of the religious teaching that support the activities that regularly occur in Sosua. Just a thought.
I have gotten phone numbers while sitting in a restaurant on Dr. Rosan from a girl who had a bible in her hand on the way to church. She came to see me afterwards in the afternoon.

Here's my whole hearted opinion on the Su's status. When I went there back in January it was dead. Even though it took until 8 pm before I started seeing some fellows. Around $60 a night and they threw in a free breakfast, which was a nice perk. Only downside is my room was on the third floor and no elevators, so make sure your knees are up to it!!
The taxi ride to / from the airport is $30 now, not bad as it was $25 last time I was there 10 years ago. Oh, make sure you do the ETicket deal to get in and out of the country; it is free but you have to have it to get in or out. I printed mine on paper, but you can do it with a QR code on your phone.

My last day here. Well, when I woke up this morning, I was done with this place. By now, 3 am on Friday, I might come back. I'll give my final thoughts on this place in another post. Sosua is everything that I spent my entire existence trying to get away from, and here I am, back again. It really does remind me of East 14th Street in Oakland when I was growing except the women are better looking and I don't have to dodge bullets. I think I've outgrown this place and this may be it for me. The person I spoke to yesterday basically said, "youve moved past this, why are you going backwards. There are classier places to get laid.
Anyway, on to fucking. Woke up this morning to a nasty text from someone that was angry because she spoke to me on the street and I ignored her. Sosua is a hit or miss place for casual visitors, but with a little common sense, there's no need for 90% of the "misses". And I remind mongers all the time, the hardest word to say in Sosua is "No".It's great to be in Santo Domingo with internet that actually works. I may even get some work done this weekend.
It's funny, but my thought at the time was that it was simply a misunderstanding and we'd have breakfast and I'd take her back and fuck her and everyone would be happy. The photos she showed me were great. She didn't look anything like her photos. She had such a shitty attitude when I met her, that there was no way I was doing anything with her. The result was a filet mignon and (you're going to laugh) another angry text this morning about how I thought she wasn't good enough for me. I didn't read the whole thing. I just blocked her ass. My daughters would be rolling their eyes right now if they saw this, they always tell me that I when I encounter assholes, I always try and make peace with them and then in the end I finally get pissed off and then do exactly what I should have done in the beginning (like tell them to kiss my ass) and I definitely should have just blocked her ass in the first place.
Someone else mentioned that I paid 5000 pesos. I think I may have paid one that when I couldn't remember where I put my wallet and she spent 30 minutes looking for it with me. She was only 4000, I gave her 1000 because I kept her at my place until my wallet was found. With the exception of the one I took to dinner and dancing and drinking, the most I paid on this trip was 4300 (I usually add 300 for the moto so when they ask I tell them them they already have it). As I said, I don't barter, so if you're budget conscious, you can probably do much better. The last one kept asking me what I was willing to pay and when I didn't respond, she said 3000 and I immediately said yes. She then said, "you were going to take me no matter what I say". I said, "yes". I'm sure she was just kicking herself when she left, I got every dollar worth.

You're not the first guy to find himself in the middle of our petty flame wars, here on the Sosua Forum. We have lost a lot of good posters over the years!
I don't believe I've ever weighed in about how much a fellow hobbyist pays for his pleasure, or how he gets off. I enjoy honest Reports, the good, bad, and the ugly! LOL. I'm a firm believer in to each his own, but. I will take issue with the posters that denigrate Sosua expats and fellow mongers, as those who have never traveled, who enjoy the "humiliation" of being ripped off because, like battered wives, they just don't know any better!
After 15 years of such posts, it gets a little stale, and needs to be called out, because aside from a couple of posters, nobody wants to bother posting a positive report to see it sliced. Diced, and personally insulted. It's basically killed this board for Sosua fans! And that's a shame!
Why do they keep it up from halfway around the world? That's above my pay scale, but I've seen many who got their superior asses handed to them, by "lowly hoes", and hell hath no fury like a monger scorned!
So enjoy what you do! Take advice from anonymous internet posters with grain of salt, keep a sense of humor about it all, and ignore the critics!

For some, ISG is just a pissing match contest.
A couple of issues still burn into their psyche to this day, like the time I bought a coffee pot for my regular, who's place I used to stay at when in town. That became "a stupid gringo buys kitchen appliance for hoes" LOL.
Another time also years ago, I allowed how I let my regular (7 years at that point) carry my shit when we were out and about. I wear shorts, carry no man bag, and like to travel light, so I give her my wallet, glasses, cigarettes, lighter, phone, charger, keys, a pen, meds and walking around money, for concho fare and stuff she needs from the colmado for kitchen supplies, to carry in that portable safe she calls her bolsa. That became "stupid gringo let's hoes carry his wallet! LOL.
All these years later, they still bring it up, see Mr. E's post here 3 days ago! LOL.
He does the same with OldKool, who made the mistake of letting his female companion share his lunch! Years ago! LOL.

I posted part of this story on the Cartegena board, but left of bits because I didn't want to be called a sucker, but when I was in Cartagena last year, I spent a lot of time with a newbie who was a Colombian hippee (people at my Airbnb called her Senorita Loca). When we first met we immediately clicked. We hung out all day had dinner, went dancing until the bars closed. I kept asking her what she wanted and her answer was always whatever you feel right giving me. My thought was, she's running a scam. After she spent the night, I again asked her what she wanted and she said her daughter's birthday was coming up and she really wanted a bicycle. She actually showed me the bicycle and it was like $60. So, I gave her what her I felt another chica would ask for spending the night and having sex with me several times without a condom (after about the third time, it no longer made sense, I'm fixed and if she had an std I would have caught it anyway). Anyway, a few days later I took her to the store and we got her kid the bike and I paid for it. I didn't think much of it, but a couple of weeks after I got home she sent me a video of her daughter riding the bike and thanking me for helping her mother buy it.
It was $60. Filling up my gas tank in Seattle is $70 bucks. A cheap solo dinner alone with drinks is $50 and I eat out every night. $60 meant basically nothing to me but someone's kid had a good birthday because of it. As long as it doesn't hurt me, I'll do what I can. I encourage you to do the same. You can be a giver as well as a taker. Shit, the men in my family all die when they're young. I'm 57, my kids are successful, so they don't need it and I can't take it with me. If it makes someone's life better that is willing to hold still while I pound away on her let her have it.
Ahhh I'm a cheap bastard and can't PM lololol. I've definitely done diving across Sosua Bay and the coral / sea life ain't close to Curacao. I may just do a quick day to drop below 60 ft because the experience is my zen shit. I did Dive Cabarete because I knew the instructors there and hooked up with the secretary but everybody has moved on.
Just got in last night and of course I the apps are loaded with 40 hustling profiles split between tinder / bumble. About a third from Puerto Plata / Sosua. Had one gal come over already $20 USD to cover taxi each way along with her fee. Had to hold my ground after she said she needed to pay the babysitter $80 USD for 2-3 hours and asked for her share on top lololol wtf.
This is downside of me staying in Cabarete. I'll live with it. My main goal is decompress from work on a beach with booze and my vape.
Does anybody have any recs about sports bars? I tried to catch a place to watch the NBA playoffs and none of the spots on the beach gave a fuck. I just need a place to drink and be a fan during this vacation. It be nice to talk trash / shop with other NBA fans too.
