2 buses from Potrero to Titeohuacan take about 1 hour.
From Autobuses del Norte you will need to change more buses and it will take longer. It's nice to see local life on buses.
The tour vans depart 7 AM from the Catedral, take you to trinket shops and restaurants along the way, cost a lot more and take more time on the road.

He stopped dead in his tracks, staring at the now-occupied booth, his food and drink vanished. He talked to the now seated Mexican patrons, told him they knew nothing, in broken English. After a moment of disbelief, he cursed under his breath and slowly walked away occasionally looking back at the table he just left.

This scenario is unusual in Hong Kong.
I have seen a few Mexican Americans not tipping when served. Meseros would show disappointment, mumble then back off, never arguments. They know they will lose their jobs quickly if a customer complains.
Meseros are under orders to clear tables of any finished drinks or food, but not when half finished, even when nobody sits there. They would ask around before doing anything.
The guy should not lose his drink and food. He should have complained to any meseros or captains. The matter would be elevated up the chain of command until resolved. HK's clients do have rights in its prickly cactus justice system. Insist on your rights. Don't let yourself pushed around by meseros, security, captains or managers.

I drove down to see a few Padres games and hit my Tijuana dentist over the last few days. I used to frequent Zona Norte but stopped drinking and have only been back with family and non-mongering friends without the ability to head to the Zona Norte over the last 15 years. My San Diego hotel allowed me to leave my car safely parked overnight after checkout, take the Blue Line Trolley and walk over. Checked in Cascadas on Monday at 3 pm and was able to get the 3 month Gold Hong Kong card and a jacuzzi room for $110 saving $10 total over paying the $120 without it. I only brought my US Passport Card which they would not take as ID for my credit card payment (it has no signature) so I had to pay cash and a $50 deposit.
I wasn't expecting much on a Monday evening but things got busy around 9 pm. At least 100 women and a long duration shaving cream / dildo show every hour more or less. Check out time at Cascadas is 1 pm so I got the $30/90 minute Tuesday massage special at Serenity Massage on Revolution. I checked out and headed to the PedWest crossing on foot but they had just closed the gate a 1:25 pm, (35 minutes early). The regular pedestrian crossing took 45 minutes.

Changes for me for my next visit (I have forgotten these common sense things over the past 15 years): First, the pedestrian crossings are much faster than driving, even with a Ready / medical pass but get to the PedWest crossing before 1:15 pm. Second, remember to negotiate / agree to extras before going upstairs and don't pay beforehand. Third, I was on the 3rd floor which was a little noisy ask for a higher floor maybe?. Forth, bring my own lube and condoms despite being offered them at check in and 4 times by staff on our way to the room later. Fifth, any ID for checking in must have a signature so bring DL too.

Think of Zona Norte Like Vegas. Spending more than 2 to 3 nights there becomes stale and boring. Like you said, I would suggest you go to the beach area or rosarito. I usually get a master suite room at Cascadas with a window BUT still don't sleep there because it gets noisy at night time. Yes, there is direct passage to Azul again, though it's a bit of a pain to have to go through the security check every time you leave Azul to go back to the hotel.

3. What about the HK shuttle / limo? Where does it pick up? I have a downloaded voucher but don't know how to schedule pickup or where to go.

-Yes. Near last station of blue line trolley, San Ysidro crossing. Still there. Across the bridge El Chaparral also open. Check their operation schedule.

Thanks in advance.1) Yes, pedestrian crossing is still in the same area by the McDonalds and trolley. The southbound crossing at PedWest about a 5 minute walk away might also be open (I don't know, I don't use PedWest anymore), but if it is, it's only open during certain times I think.
2) I haven't taken a taxi in Tijuana in years but my understanding is the pricing is up to around $7 + tip to Zona Norte. Maybe you can still find drivers willing to do $5, though I think it'd be more difficult than in the past. Best way to get to Zona Norte is the (free) HK shuttle or take a taxi de ruta (16 pesos or $1) to Zona Centro and walk about 5 minutes down Constitucion to Zona Norte.
3) I almost always take the HK shuttle / limo. You can take the downloaded voucher if you want but you don't really need it. If you tell them you're going to Cascadas or HK they will take you for free anyway. A tip is expected, I usually tip 2 or 3 dollars.
As far as where to catch the HK limo, it's kind of hard to describe but this link (https://shorturl.at/wrAs0) will hopefully gives you a better idea of where you need to go. If you rotate the link to the east you'll see the area where we all walk out of the Mexican customs building after showing our passports. If you rotate the link to the north you'll see a dirt parking lot with a fence in front of the pedestrian walkway (in the Google pic, a guy with a red hoodie and jeans is walking in front of the fence). Sometimes the HK limo will be parked right in that parking lot waiting for people to walk by to take to Zona Norte. But if the limo isn't there you can open the fence (or ask the worker who will usually be sitting there to open the fence), walk through the lot, make a left to go down the hill a little bit, and at your very first right, walk through the parking lot to the more common waiting area for the limo. There are signs indicating where the limo is supposed to be (you can see the "ZonaShuttle" signs in the link or you could probably ask one of the workers near the dirt parking lot. Even if they don't speak English they'll probably know what you mean if you just say "Hong Kong" LOL. In my experience most of the time the limo will already be there but if not the wait is usually not longer than another 5-10 minutes.
4) Yes, I always get a VIP card before checking in. There's a guy right at the front desk who will sign you up. The cost is $70 and the VIP cards expire every 3 months. It's the most cost-effective way if you'll be spending more than 1 day at Cascadas over the course of 3 months.
5) HK and Cascadas (and most or all of the other Zona Norte clubs I think) have added walk-through metal detector gates to enhance security. I think these got added back in 2021, not too long after than Rutgers basketball player murdered the girl working at Adelitas. Note that pretty much anything that could be used as a weapon they won't let you take into your Cascadas hotel room. For example I had some boxing gloves in my luggage that I use to workout that they wouldn't let me take up to my room and the Cascadas staff showed me a baseball that had to be checked into storage since I guess the baseball could be used as a weapon or otherwise cause damage to the room. So be mindful of what you take as they do open up and check any luggage or backpacks you bring for potentially dangerous items.
6) 100-120 is the going rate for the girls I've dealt with most recently at HK. I don't do much haggling on price but I personally don't go above 120.80-100 for the girls at Tropical, at least in my experience.
7) Tropical (across the street from HK) and Chicago are the main bars for that. The other Zona Norte bars are a level below even Tropical and Chicago, at least in my opinion.
8) Yes, I bring non-HK girls to my room in Cascadas all the time. Also HK girls when they're off shift. There's no additional fee for this. If you try to bring an HK girl up during her shift without going into the club the staff will bring a bucket of beer and try to make you pay for 5 drinks before she can enter your room.

Once you clear MEX immigration, exit the building and walk down the short sidewalk right before where everyone else waits for taxis on the right hand side there should be a Zona Shuttle kiosk where either the shuttle is there to take you to la zona or a short walk a little further down a paved parking lot (ask directions) to a small "storefront" where the Zona shuttle can take you. This my recollection from my Jan 2024 trip.

6. starting point for HK girls seems to be $150-$200, but you can usually get the $150 down to $120-100, and the $200 down to $150. Dayshift prices are lower, I got starting prices at $100 and didn't negotiate because I felt the quality of dayshift girls is comparable if not better than nightshift, both in looks and service, but just fewer of them around, so if you see one that catches your eye, don't delay I'm scooping her up or turning her down to try to save $20.

Not sure what all of the rules are here, though my understanding is they do want you to buy drinks if you keep the girl for more than an hour (never personally kept a chica for more than an hour so I wouldn't know for sure). I'm actually surprised they didn't try to get you for the bucket of beers when the 2nd girl came up, though again I don't know all the rules there. They've gotten stricter with those drink rules the past couple of years but sometimes they let you slide or just forget to come to your room I think.
I used to text my regular chicas to come up to my room if I didn't feel like going down to the club and never had problems but the past couple of years or so they've been more insistent on you buying the bucket of beers if you've not been down to the club and try to have her come up while she's working.
As far as the girl's off-time, I think what tends to work best for them is having them come up to your room before their shift starts. Would have been better if they came together, singed in together. The best way to enjoy a girl without being bothered by security is to have her meet you outside of her work ours in a different Hotel than Cas. Such as Rizo or other Motels. Motels are bigger, cleaner and cheaper, if you grab a room during the weekdays except Friday and you get there past 9 or 10 PM, you can have the room for about $40 for the entire night and the upto 12 PM the following day.

This is fairly accurate in my experience. A few years ago my ATF came to Cascadas to spend the night. Security in tow. Typically, when she was off work, we would spend the night without a bar fine. Been doing that for about five years. Tonight they wanted $300 for her to spend the night. FK that. I offered $200 and they accepted. However, for less than $200 we can get a nice room downtown. I didn't do so that night for the convenience. However, for the past three years I have been meeting bar girls in downtown hotels where they spend the night with me. If the original room you booked was a premium room you get on a list. Once you on the list they probably keep you on it and will hustle for more money.
The girls also can be a part of this. It can be hard enough finding one good girl but making it a threesome means either of the two girls can be trying to get the hustle on for more money. It can feel like the vibes are great but when they use their phone they could be messaging the bar workers to come ask for beer. My wingmen does more threesomes than me. By beer cans are you referring to the Heinekens that they typically only sell at the door on weekend nights? Is this extended to Wednesdays and Thursdays now? If you stay at Cascadas they don't charge you for those beers, they just waive you through (they'll identify you're a hotel guest by your wristband). I think (though not sure) that this is also the case if you're a VIP member, if you just show them your VIP card they'll waive you through. VIP members get a free daily drink of their choice anyway. It's been several years (pre-COVID) since I've paid for a beer at the door at Hong Kong.
In all my years I've never had any issues with any of the staff at HK or Cascadas, they've always been chill and laid-back. By beer cans are you referring to the Heinekens that they typically only sell at the door on weekend nights? Is this extended to Wednesdays and Thursdays now? If you stay at Cascadas they don't charge you for those beers, they just waive you through (they'll identify you're a hotel guest by your wristband). I think (though not sure) that this is also the case if you're a VIP member, if you just show them your VIP card they'll waive you through. VIP members get a free daily drink of their choice anyway. It's been several years (pre-COVID) since I've paid for a beer at the door at Hong Kong.

Also you would think that a person that is such a so called regular as yourself would know that you pay the price for the beer and once inside you change it for the drink you want. Especially if you know Spanish. It makes no sense for them to have this policy on one of the slowest nights and my guess is that you didn't actually encounter this but read about it somewhere else. I would also guess that the Wednesday in question was the Wednesday that the had the Halloween party and the place was crowded because of that and thus they were making sure guys paid for a drink instead of taking up space to watch the show.
So this advice is for those that want to visit HK and have a good time with no issues. Just like anywhere if someone does something for you in HK you should be kind and give a tip. Now some girls ask for tips and don't do anything and some guys tip them, I never have and never will and have yet to be treated bad because of it. I have also never tipped a security guy but they have never done anything for me and I have never asked them to do anything. If for some reason you do ask them for something and they help you I'd say "gracias" and give them a buck or more depending on the situation. For example if you are staying at Rizo and for some reason can't walk the girl across the street by yourself and need help I'd definitely give a tip in that situation. It's very easy to have a great time in HK despite what one individual tries to say (also this is the same individual that has posted before that he likes to say how dangerous Tijuana is so they get less business) thinking that he will have less competition. That is no rumor it might be more common than you think. I have this habit, when the mesero shows up to grab the supposed empty bottle away I grab it first and take a swig. I pretend like I get a mouthful and give the mesero the get the fuck out of here look. Most cases it is pretty much empty but I do always get a taste of what they are drinking. But there have been other times where I get a taste of a lemon flavored water. At that point the girl will feel like she has been busted. And more than a couple times they explain they are on a medication that they can't mix with alcohol.
Of course my thought is I don't care what is in the bottle no need to apoligize. Remember you are paying for there time not what they are drinking. The real problem are the ones that take 2 minutes to drink there $11 dollar drink.

So IMO it's not HK trying to get anything over on you it's the girl. Most customers are clueless in most of these matters so it's easy for the girls to get away with it. When I go I go to drink, so I have waiters that are loyal to me not the girl and will let me know if a girl I might be interested in doesn't drink since it will be a waste of time because I'm not going to buy fichas all night for a girl that doesn't drink. Unless I really like her and she drinks slow and is cool to talk to but it's been awhile since I've done that and it tends to happen more if I go during the day.

That is no rumor it might be more common than you think. I have this habit, when the mesero shows up to grab the supposed empty bottle away I grab it first and take a swig. I pretend like I get a mouthful and give the mesero the get the fuck out of here look. Most cases it is pretty much empty but I do always get a taste of what they are drinking. But there have been other times where I get a taste of a lemon flavored water. At that point the girl will feel like she has been busted. And more than a couple times they explain they are on a medication that they can't mix with alcohol.
Of course my thought is I don't care what is in the bottle no need to apoligize. Remember you are paying for there time not what they are drinking. There you go, if she behaves and we click she can continue making money off me with a potential arriba, If I sense a slight misalignment I move on to the next girl sometimes after a dollar or two.

AFAIK all fichas ordered by me and my wingmen in HK have been real liquors.
The putas like Don Julio 70 tequila, strong but smooth, fragrant and slightly sweet, $30 a shot. I tried them by smell and taste. They were genuine.
