GETTING THERE.
The way to LR was familiar from previous visits, but satnav helped with some weird construction after exiting the autobahn. I arrived just 30 min after opening time, and got one of the few parking spots right up against the side of the building. Previously I have always had to park down the street because I'd come to LR after GT in the evenings.

Like going to Starbucks or the guys at Cheers. I'd imagine Cliff Clavin would be a regular fixture at the bar if they had such places in Boston. I sure would be.

Instead of my regular trips to the money locker to check for texts and emails I could have my phone with me right in the lounge, and it really changed the tone of my visit. One guy in the garden's beer tent had a huge iPad Pro out and was seemingly shopping for shoes. Most guys discreetly used their phones as I did--it felt illicit in a way but I missed enjoying this liberal policy the following day at Finca during some downtime.
The music list for this club was heavily targeted at the demographic of the guys who were attending--lots of 80's new wave hits like Soft Cell's Tainted Love / Where Did Our Love Go and Visage's Fade to Grey. Flashback city, dude.
