Just got back from first trip to Living Room. Staying in Dusseldorf close to the main train station. I am not too familiar with public transportation here in Germany but it was pretty easy to get there. Took the S-28 to the Ikea / Kaarst stop. I got to Dusseldorf Hbf about 8 pm and I had no schedule for the trains, but I just missed one and I was able to get the next one about 20 minutes later. Seems like this train runs fairly frequently. Got off at the stop and then it was a 10 minute walk to LR. Took a right off the train platform and then walked up to the main traffic light right before the McDonalds and took a right. Walked about 300 yards and then there was an office building on the right, I saw a neon heart in the distance and figured I was on the right track. Saw the sign for Living Room and I was all set.

In the weekends VV or GT is preferred, VV has a outdoor pool which is great in the Summertime.

LR is also great during Wed-Sat, the club is just too small to stay the whole day, so I come in the evening and stay until closing. It's closed to DUS. I got a few hours of sleep back at the hotel and then got to work.

Normally I would do the GT+LR combo, but I didn't have the time this time.

I must admit that Villa Vertigo is one of my favorite saunaclub, due to the girls I know and the stylish setup. I could easily spend min. 1-2 hour with my ATFs. I don't care so much about lack of kino and wellness facilities. For that I can go to Artemis.

Just got back from my night 2 trip to Living Room. Took the S-28 once again from Dusseldorf Hbf – got a late start and I was able to catch the train that was leaving a little before 10. Stepped foot in LR around 10:30.

I was there at the end of May. Found the lineup really improved around 7pm. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate both of you giving your thoughts on this. I do understand this being a psychological thing, just wanted to get the expert's view too. LOL. Good point. The LR-GT discount card is valid both ways, that is, Golden Time to Living Room or Living Room to Golden Time. What makes sense, is as you say, if you want to maximise your clubbing time the combination is Golden Time to Living Room since Living Room has the later closing time. I have tended to go from Golden Time to Living Room myself for this very reason. Yet, there are instances where one may wish to go the other way.

Does anyone know if the GT-LR discount card combination is going to be impacted by the GT entry price increase to 60€?

No reports anywhere about LR changing prices. It's PHG we are all looking at to follow VV and GT. In Dusseldorf, managed to take a bus from platform 10 to Dusseldorf-Benrath, then the last S6 to Cologne at 1:45am. Arrived at 2:30am at Koln Hbf. Pfuuuuuuu!

Overall, really enjoyed Living Room. The outdoor patio, the BBQ food tent, the Kino and the Jacuzzi are strong pluses. Food was great, with BBQ salmon over white asparagus and bearnaise sauce. The excellent free white wine was a nice touch. Tangy, crisp, dry white wine common in this region. Salad with dry ham and a garlicy dressing was a blast.

Now that I had my first FKK visit under my belt (see report in the DV thread) , it was time to expand my horizon. After the brief welcome, payment of the 60 EUR club fee and (cursory) explanations of the house rules, I was assigned Nina for the walk-around of the club. Nina is a tall German brunette. If you want to return after that, you will need to take a cab back to your hotel or wait for the next train around 5 AM. Train schedules are available on the Deutsche Bahn web site (www.bahn.com).

Think I have got away with it for the last 2 years. It's 100% correct if you ask the GT receptionists, tThey will tell you it's only valid on the night. 2 years back, I went to GT on 3 occasions and always asked for the LR 25$ discount card in case I needed to pop again on my drive back to Dusseldorf hotel.

Recently checking the LR website (I don't know why?) but there appears to have been a change to the meal times.

From 15:00 to 18:00 there is now Late Lunch; whatever that is?

Also Front Cooking / BBQ has been extended and runs from 18:00 to 22:00 (was 20:00).

Can anyone confirm that this is currently the case; as I shall shortly be visiting LR arriving around 20:00 and need to know whether to stop off at Mc D's before I enter.
