There's a whole new raft of bars opening up in the Pasteur St area, but the reason for this message is that many of the bar owners are the same. Be careful if you go to Wildcats, the owners are ex Kims Bar and they teach their girls how to scam customers. I heard a story last night of a customers bill from 5 pm to 8 pm being 25 million. How is that even possible? If he had 10 drinks at 100,000 a go, it means he would have had to buy 130+ lady drinks at 180,000 each. In 3 hours no fucking way. Anyway, he contested the bill and the owner immediately reduced it to 10 million. So that a definite admission of guilt.

Manhattan, My Place, Booty Bar, Corner Bar Mei Bar are all up to their usual scamming tricks so just be careful. And there is a rush of fake alcohol going around again. Johnny Walker, Jack Daniels, Absolut to name a few.

Unfortunately, my three regulars were all out of town, so I had to searching for new partners. This time I was alone, since all my foreign business colleagues were women. Went to Apo and was pleasantly surprised to see a relatively hopping place at 10:30 on a Tuesday, probably because of the band. Even in the day you'll probably be stopped if you go to the main elevators. Not the end of the world if the girl has her ID, they'll just ask her to check in at reception. But that doesn't work at night; after around 9 PM they won't let her up period unless she's on the booking.

Confirmed with some of my girls the police raid and they all went into hiding or closed the bar. Last night had girls out but not even half of when I was there in mid-September. Much fewer Japanese customers too but I noticed a huge increase in Indians. Guess the Japanese are fed up with the table charges too.

More and more bars are adding this table charge BS and the rates are getting out of hand. One I walked in and out of wanted 300 k for me just to sit down! Most run from 150-200 k.

Pro tip and please do this guys. If you see a girl you like get her to agree that there is no table charge if she wants you to come in. I have found they will all do this. If not there are 50 other bars and 1000 other girls available.

Pro tip 2 - also make sure the bar doesn't charge you another 200-300 k for the girl to stand beside you instead of behind the bar. Girls can waive this charge for you as well.

Pro tip 3 - seek out the hidden bars in Little Japan in the small alleys where you find only a handful of bars. I find those are the prettiest bar girls hidden with some uglies who are always outside. I don't pay much attention to bar names in Little Japan but I'll try my best to get the names when I go next. Way too many bars in Pasteur and Little Japan to remember.

Bar" a while back, least that's what the adress is still listed as on google. Women out front looked early 40's, some maybe mid 30's but not too bad. One had a nice big rack but messed up teeth. Went to other places there they were transparent.Ah good old Moon Bar. They can have some nice girls there at times (see photos). I have a regular there. IIRC their bar fee is $5 USD (it may be $10?) and there is no charge for the girl to sit beside you if you buy her a drink so you can feel her up. So if we add your 2 beers 260 k plus 120 k bar fee that only adds up to 360 k plus tax plus a surcharge if you paid by credit card. Even for these not "transparent" bars seems quite a ways off from the 900 k. Did they clarify what the 900 k was for?

In Little Japan bars ALWAYS specifically clarify if there is a sitting / bar charge and also make sure no girl talks to you on the same side of the bar you are on before you let her sit / stand beside you. That could be an additional charge up to 470k (20 USD). Some little scams these Viet bars have that you have to be aware of. Be aggressive with your questions otherwise you're going to be looked at as a chump and these girls / bars will take full advantage of you. Just tell them you will buy them a drink but refuse to pay a bar fee and the girls will make sure that charge is waived. Many bars will not give you a bill until the end. If you are concerned about this pay for every drink and every expense as you go along. Make sure you are clear in your instructions! Almost every Little Japan bar has their own little surcharges and no two are alike unless they are owned by the same owner. The worst I heard was 2 million dong for an N20 balloon because you had to buy the entire canister and go to a karaoke room. WTF.

The above is why I think some guys get in a boatload of shit in these Vietnam bars (ie. guy posting on a Vietnam board on how they got beat up at a Pasteur Street bar I frequented often). They just don't know any better.

We had a free day here today so after some shopping. Went to drink some beer at a local brewery. As luck would have it, I was right across the Japan town. So decided to have some omakase and check the place out. While having the dinner, I kept seeing cute little girls walking around so decided to explore the area. Walked around the little alleys and saw the little bars filled with girls. Walked into one and got a price for a beer without counter charge. 45 k before 9 pm. No one special in there. Walked around some more and met a manager who speaks good English and was pretty enough to strike up a conversation. 150 k for my beer and 180 k for a beer for the girl with no counter charge. I thought I would check it out. Sat around till beer is finished and wondered WTF is this bullshit. There is absolutely nothing fucking going on unless you are willing to blow huge amounts of money. Left and walked around. Walked to another massage place. 1 M for BJ by some old hags. No thanks.

Finally decided to head to hotel. Some lady stopped me and offered a girl. 1. 75 M for everything and I said 1 M to see if she would accept. She did accept but it just didn't feel right so I left and came to hotel.

Final verdict unless you are Korean or Japanese. Don't waste your time going to this place. I think Linh Cherry is the best for tourists on a time crunch.

Very impressive if you were actually able to spend around $24 US and got what you got over 1.5 hours. Given some bars in Little Tokyo have a $10 fee for you to just to sit at the bar, then around $6 US for your drink and $8 US for the lady drink. Then another $10-15 fee for the girl to come on the same side of the bar as you are. I still go to Little Tokyo because some of the girls are hot but believe me I am negotiating no bar seat fee and no fee for the girl to come from behind the bar before I even walk in. Regarding hostess bars, I do agree that the overall talent level in L'il Tokyo tops Pasteur triangle, but the bang for your buck is chalk-and-cheese! In nearly every Pasteur area bar -- especially with customer levels down so much some nights -- one can find one's "type" (this is not even possible in Soi Cowboy anymore, just to mention one example); your new best friend is invariably bored and in need of a john to grind on and ply for drinks LOL. Are they like Little Japan? Not sure what you mean by that. Little Japan bars are bars where you go in and sit ACROSS the bar from the girl. In more than half of them if you want the girl on your side of the bar you pay extra. Everything has to be negotiated so you don't run up a super high bill when you think you're just getting a drink and a couple for the girl who is standing with you. Many even charge you for just sitting at the bar (ie. entrance fee) or if you text a girl and ask if she's working (ie. "infatuation fee"). For the most part all that happens for a new customer who hasn't proven his worth yet in Little Japan are maybe girls a quick grope, DFK from some, and having your arms around them. Most of these bars have karaoke rooms. Maybe more happens up there but certainly didn't for the girls I went to karaoke rom with. After only 2 months of operation, G&G restaurant on Nguyen Thai Binh street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, let more than 120 waitresses sell sex to foreigners, earning 10 billion VND.

On August 2, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Staff Department, the City Police Department's Investigation Police Agency urgently arrested Hoang Anh Hao, Yu Sungho, NGO Thi Ngoc Thuy, Lee Jihyoung, Kim Ji Hoon, Kang MinCheol, Nguyen Kim Diem (Madam Yen) to investigate the act of Prostitution Brokerage.

Previously, detectives from the Criminal Police Department discovered many signs of prostitution at G&G restaurant on Nguyen Thai Binh street, District 1. This establishment opened in mid-May but had many foreign guests coming to have fun.

The restaurant is owned and directly operated and managed by Hoang Anh Hao, Yu Sungho, NGO Thi Ngoc Thuy, and Cho Kiwan. The restaurant has 30 karaoke rooms operating without a license and only serves foreign guests (mainly Koreans and Chinese).

At this location, there are 8 Korean managers, 3 Vietnamese "madams", 2 waiters and more than 120 female attendants ready to serve customers.

In order to attract customers to the restaurant to eat and have fun, the restaurant owner organized the filming of promotional clips on many different social networking platforms and introduced many attractive combos such as: "Safe place to eat and play, with female attendants dancing sexy and ready to sell sex when customers have a need, cheap prices from 2. 5 million to 4 million VND". Prostitution locations are hotels and luxury apartments with full amenities and luxury cars to pick up and drop off.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department directed Colonel Pham Dinh Ngoc (Head of the Criminal Police Department) to directly command the reconnaissance team to coordinate with professional units and District 1 Police to destroy this prostitution ring.

Through inspection, the Criminal Police Department discovered many documents related to the restaurant's "madam" sending 4 female attendants to sell sex at luxury apartments in Thu Duc City and Binh Thanh District, so they administratively inspected the prostitution location; at the same time, invited the relevant people to the headquarters to continue the investigation and clarification.

At the police station, Hao, Yu, and Thuy confessed that in order to increase the restaurant's revenue, the subjects directed their subordinates to allow the restaurant's female attendants to sell sex to foreigners when requested.

To avoid being monitored by the authorities, these people repeatedly held secret meetings with Korean "madams", general managers and Vietnamese "madams" to instruct them on how to operate prostitution at the restaurant.

Accordingly, when entering the restaurant, foreign guests must have their passports checked to confirm their nationality or have an acquaintance to sponsor them. Security forces must regularly check and if they discover a Vietnamese person standing in front of the restaurant, they must chase them away; at the same time, they must constantly change the location of prostitution.

The police agency said that in the 2 months of operation of the G&G restaurant, the subjects illegally profited about 10 billion VND.
