It seems you are a little bit worried about some hotel staff giving you a problem (probably much different in your country).
If you are really concerned for your safety having some unknown woman going up to your room, you can always ask that the hotel front desk keep her ID until she comes back down. This used to be a normal practice in some hotels, but very rare these days. Generally, you would establish contact with the girl on WhatsApp. Pre arrange the time she estimates for arrival at your hotel lobby. Send her your foto, and a foto of where you will meet her in the lobby. She might ask you for your room number, but that is only for verification that you are actually at that hotel. Elevators in most hotels require a room key, so it is not possible for someone to just go up to your room.
It's not easy for a first time visit, and not easy to read the last 100 pages of this forum (but you should try to do so), so just relax, and enjoy your time. Many Indians come to Bangkok, so you might even find someone to help you.

Try the back street of Soi Cowboy, turn left at the end. There is a row of massage shops on the right side. Take your pick, but be ready to bargain, as they will give you the "hard sell". I dropped by Nana for the first time in a couple of months. Things are definitely picking up, most clubs are open and there is a sustainable level of girls. Customers are definitely thin on the ground on the quite days like Monday to Thursday.

Yes, being far out will limit your options. No idea whether some unspecified escort will ask for extra money, they're already ridiculously overpriced, so who knows.
Also, if by a drive, you mean no mass transit and just taxis, that's a nightmare. A 1 h drive can turn into a 2 h drive at the wrong time. Stay where you want to be.

In some places, I have gotten into taxis going West on major road when I was going someplace to the East. 30 minutes later I was passing the spot I was picked up finally going the other direction. Not joking. It can turn into an absolute fucking mess.
Stay closer. Find a map of BTS (skytrain) and MRT (subway) and stay at least near those lines. They are fast, easy to use, and a very pleasant ride.
Or just stay near sukhumvit between Soi 4 and 24.
Escorts will want extra to get all the fucking way out to wherever. I imagine you could convince some of them to travel all the way to Chang Mai if you paid enough, but why?

Sukhumwit Road starts at the city center and each lane to the left is an even number soi, Each lane to the right is an odd number soi.
Lower Sukhuwit goes from soi 2 to perhaps soi 23/22 which is Asoke on the BTS (skytrain) There is tons of action in this area.
Soi 25 up to 50 are still good and many people stay there. The further up the sois to cheaper it gets geneneraly.
A condo on soi 50 will be 2/3 the cost of one at Asoke soi 21.

There are 100's of reasonable accommodation options within walking distance of Sukumvit that are very, very safe. Also, I'd recommend you stay in the Sukumvit area until you get your feel for the area as it is very ex-pat friendly and safer. You will have no problems in finding talent to go to your hotel as long as you have baht.

It has been a while.
Lucky I spent a few days in LOS after the long COVID hiatus. Pretty much everything is back to normal, however on a less busy level. Prices gone up but if you cannot get laid in LOS, well shame on you.
Thailand pass and insurance are past but were actually no real problem, 30 minutes max and you have all you need for immigration. Get the free SIM card and pay the online rates NOT what they post on the booths at luggage pick up. I paid 300 for 16 days 20 GB (Dtac) got a "free" SIM card with my Covid insurance but am sure if you ask you will get the same deal. Change some money at the orange Superrich downstairs before boarding the AirportLink, if you still have 35 Baht better change at the green one's headquarter for the best rates or wherever you consider convenient. Both have Apps so rates are fully transparent.
Get a hotel in Asoke area for convenient logistics and go fuck your brains out. Hotels allow early check in and do not insist on visitor registration in my experience as guests are still scarce. Line is a must, OKC and TFF can be helpful but I found the whole online thing time consuming and little productive. Got an appoint from a freelancer 2000ST but she never showed up at my hotel.
Massage parlours: same as always but they now ask 1000 for a HJ and 2500 for FS. The latter you may get down to 2000, still to much IMHO for the quality (or lack thereof) you receive, but the options are everywhere. For a good massage avoid the ones with the suggestive clad ladies trying to lure you in but I found the massage quality varying even with the veggie ones.
Specialised MP: Tulips kept the old prices and A+ service, SW is closed (RIP my favourite), Cherry told me only normal massages but I might have been too early in the day. All have a lack of customers and providers are older and of medium looks but lots of enthusiasm and experience.
Soapies: there is a new one in / near Soi 23 called Aya with nice decorations (for whoever that is important), high prices but a decent lineup (get their line and they will send you the lineup of the day). Standard room starts at 2300 for 60 min at current discount, 4000 gives you a 90 min in a Jacuzzi room and goes up to 10 k for 2 girls in the Super VIP room. Girls seem to partially come from former Eden but I found no A+ service on offer. It is owned by a bunch of foreigners so let's see how long it lasts. I find it overpriced but you know what you get. The other soapies seem closed, at least the ones I know (Annies, Nataree and the ones around it but I did not a lot of research by foot, I had better things to do).
BJ bars: woods still a cheap 800 Baht but few girls, a bit rushed service, 7 Heaven 1300, cute girls well trained but a bit sterile and pricey. Did not find Dugaporn (Heaven, Lolitas, Kasalong etc. Are gone.
SW on Sukhumvit and Thermae: lots of newly female outside, in Thermae quality rather low (also for the non alcoholic beverages AVOID) prices up to 3000 be for ST, I found it depressing and service not matching the prices, even I got a cute little spinner on her first day (or month / year LOL) on the job. Prices on the street quoted were 1500, even 1000 but I did not find that worth the bad looks. Enough choices though.
Soi 23: most bars open now with girls outside and no customers inside, Arab bars all still closed (sharks is a makeshift restaurant LOL), not the party atmosphere from the past and the cuties outside seem still to be the marketing and not working squad.
Nana Plaza: more action in general.

I'm typing this FR as I'm sitting in Billboards. 1:00 am the crowd is dying down a little bit but this place was packed when I first got here around 12:45. 160 for a Heineken. This is just my honest unfiltered opinion for those who are interested in flying in for a visit. You should not have to spend a ton of money to come here just to find out how things truly are.
Getting straight to the point, Bangkok is nowhere near where it was. It would appear that it will take at least a year to get up and running. I am not even talking about getting back to where it was. There are whole sections of the city that no longer exist. The food court in Siam Center is gone. There are still some restaurants there, but the food court is gone. The outdoor market northeast of Central World, to the east of the Palladium is now just an empty lot. You would not even be able to tell that there used to be a market there.
In 2019, before they closed the border, Bangkok had over 25 million tourists. You can just imagine how much of an impact losing that many visitors would have on the local economy / infrastructure.
Entire hotels have been, and still are, shuttered. One of my favorite hotels in the area won't be open for business until August / September. It would appear that some will never reopen. I walked by a 10-15 story hotel today that is shuttered (very depressing.).
Getting a taxi (Grab), is a chore and more expensive. Before it was like $2-3 for wherever you wanted to go. Now, I feel that I MUST get a SUV (7/ trip) just to be sure that I will find something dependable / available. When I have tried to just get a car, I have received messages that there were no drivers available, or if I did connect with a driver, the driver stiffed me, and I ended up having to get a SUV anyway.
If you do not already have a credit / debit card added to Grab, get ready to have to pay for your taxi with cash. There appears to be some new law in place that prevents foreigners from using their credit cards. Bolt would only allow me to use cash. I eventually found a way around this for Grab, but it was not straight forward.
You no longer need to wear masks anywhere in Bangkok, except for public transport. HOWEVER, everyone still wears masks, and I mean EVERYONE. Although some of the major businesses, like Siam Paragon have signs up to let you know that masks are optional, they are not optional everywhere. I have been asked to put my mask on in several modern well-ventilated locations. Today, security in the Watsons pharmacy made me put on a mask. The Silom Complex has a sign at the entrance asking you to wear a mask throughout the mall. In short, the government no longer requires you to wear a mask, but business can still require it. It is hard to not feel like a "dirty farang", when you are like 1 of 1,000 without a mask.
In terms of the "talent", gone are the young, vibrant, spinners that I knew and loved. They have essentially lost 2. 5 years of recruitment and a lot of girls returned home, so that makes sense. I would also assume that those who returned home told horror stories of how they were not making any money. That would scare off some of the potential newer recruits. Bars will not be able to get in new talent until the tourists come back with a vengeance. There is not even enough tourists here right now to support those who are already working. All that will take some time. For now, you will need to deal with lower quality service providers.
All of that said, Thailand is still Thailand. The Siam vibe is still alive and well here. The food remains phenomenal, and truly mind-blowing gastronomical experiences can be found throughout Bangkok.
If you are planning on coming here, especially if you came here before, you would need to become more of an explorer as opposed to someone returning to known stomping grounds. Gone are a lot of the places that I used to eat at. However, I was able to find other places that are just as good.

I just went to other places cause my thought process was "big city = bigger prices". So far that has proved me right. This is my first time spending any real time in BKK and getting a feel for what it had to offer in comparison to Phuk and Patts.
Mask thing is weird just as he said. Masks everywhere as a Courtesy honestly. I don't mind it. I do remove mine when I'm walking or have enough space around people but on the MRT or Skytrain its mandatory. I've not been asked to put it on in Terminal 21 or any other mall or anything so YMMMV.
Janjo has not been the only person to express that a lot of talent left BKK and its plain to see. Shuttered Bars, Hotels, Gogos, Clubs, businesses everywhere. I have a friend that lives in BKK and he was showing me around all the "spots" like Si lom, nana, cowboy, soi 22 and a few others and you could see the quality just isn't what he claimed it used to be. My entire thought process while here for 2 weeks was "I'm not impressed". The bars or massage places all have older than I'm used to seeing ladies in them. Most looks to be mid-30's into 40's. The most good looking ones are as expected at the Gogos.
Price wise I was shocked. I am not sure it just after effects of COVID or if its always been this way. I was frequently being Quoted upwards of 3-4 k baht for ST and around 7 k for LT. Again I will preface this by saying some of the places we were going were not my usual bag. I don't usually like Gogos so I can't say that's standard but even there and reading some of the reports lead me to believe otherwise. My friend was not offered anywhere near those amounts but he speaks Thai and often did the negotiating for me. Bars weren't full, There was plenty of walking room even among the busy hours (8 pm-2 am) and there seemed to be a lack of "customers".
Tinder, TF, and Skout has been my lifeline out here for that kind of fun. I've been catfished once (she has good pictures but they were obviously pre-covid as she gained about 20 kg during that time). Many of them have said they used to work at the bars and clubs but since covid turned them down they turned to Camsites and Freelance work and its been well for them.
Food is Great. People outside of Gogo's are genuinely amazing. A lot of great conversations and people sharing experiences. Even the Taxi driver don't seem as pushy. (Pre-covid persistent Taxi drivers trying to take me to a massage was worse than flies on shit, now a simple "no I'm good" and they move along.) One night the friend of mind and I sat on the street with some locals and shared their liquor and chilled and ate food and shot the shit until 4 am. It was chill.
To wrap things up. As a essentially first timer to BKK I would say its still fun to be had. But if your expecting mindblowing experiences like the stories or expecting anything of "how it used to be" than shelf that. Things have shifted and its plain to see even to someone who hasn't been here. I'll be kicking down to Patts in a few days. From reports and my contacts, I'm expecting a much better experience. There is a lot of fun to be had. But make sure you check those pockets before you do. Always remember YMMMV.

The biggest issue with Bangkok right now is that Sunday to Wednesday is really dead in the clubs etc. Thursday to Saturday some places can get busy but most still struggle.
The issue is too few customers to really get the industry going at the moment.

On July 1 I forgot I wasn't wearing a mask on the street, entered the MRT station at Sukhumvit (Terminal 21 Mall), passed all the masked security guards at the escalator, through the turnstile past the masked guards, down the steps, entered a train car and was three stations along my way before it suddenly dawned on me I was the only one not wearing a mask.
At my destination station, before I passed through the exit turnstile I walked up to a masked guard still without my mask and outright asked if it was ok for me not to wear a mask. He gave me a thumbs up and ok sign.
Same with all of the 7-11's and most of the malls I have walked into since July 1; Terminal 21, Siam Paragon, Central Chidlom, Central World, EmQuartier and Emporium. No masks required, not even in their food markets, since July 1.
Now, I am not sure about the BTS / Skytrain just yet. I have not had a reason to pass through a Skytrain station turnstile since July 1 without a mask to see what happens. But I can tell you that just like the MRT there are no longer any illustrations or signs indicating that masks must be worn in the BTS Asoke station entrances.

The gogos are still struggling with new business models and lack of staff issues. I think the bars are encouraging staff to do short time only in nearby short term hotels so they can run back and keep the bar appear to be full of women.
Every new "friend" I have met stated that they only do short time only / nearby short time hotel.
One thing to also note. Spankys is setting there short term at 4 k and long term 7 k. I assume to keep the bar full of women as not many punters are going to barfine them at that rate. On the evening of June 30 when many places had already dropped the mask requirement a guard at the entrance to a mall food market stopped me from going in until I put on a mask. But the very next day that same guard didn't say a word or make the same effort when I entered without a mask.

Nana is an interesting place right now. It is busy Friday and Saturday but the other nights dead, no customers and lack of staff.
One thing to also note. Spankys is setting there short term at 4 k and long term 7 k. I assume to keep the bar full of women as not many punters are going to barfine them at that rate. I'm new to BKK but I've been finding decent enough luck around Thermae. Sunday night was packed with Freelancers most of them looked like displaced gogo girls. The biggest issue with Bangkok right now is that Sunday to Wednesday is really dead in the clubs etc. Thursday to Saturday some places can get busy but most still struggle.
The issue is too few customers to really get the industry going at the moment.Think it'll recover by the Fall? Once winter hits Europe maybe people will come back.

Covid has had a devastating affect recently but structurally Gen Z are no longer turned on by going out to drink to excess, reports of violent altercations nor low strike rates of face to face hook up attempts. These have been replaced by day time cafes with friends and online hook up aps.
I can see similar situations rolling out through Asia's red light area as well. There is no denying the effect of internet options. Many girls simply no longer need the dramas or embarassment of working in bars, seedy massage joints etc.

But regarding the bit about her insisting on using a Nana Plaza short time room or you pay an additional 500 baht to take her to your hotel, I can't say I have encountered that. Then again, it usually comes out in our bar chat that I live very nearby and I have a motorbike parked at curbside for a quick ride to my apartment and likely back to NP as well. So that might be why the NP short time room is not insisted upon with me.
However, I will say that many Nana Plaza bars are nutty about keeping as many girls in the bar or close by for quick return on Friday nights these days, maybe slightly less so on Saturday nights.
As has been mentioned by many, those are the biggest customer nights while the rest of the week can be rather dead, many of the better girls not even bothering to show up Sunday. Wednesday. So if the night you took the girl was Friday or Saturday, especially after 9:30 pm or so, that would have been peak customer times for the whole week and the bars want as many hands, feet, faces and butts on deck as possible. Of course, the girls want to be there for the potential flood of Lady Drink commission income as well.

Fertility rate has been under 2 children per woman since 1992 (affecting the number of women under 30 now in 2022), compared to the 5+ in the early 1970's (women under 30 back in 2000's). Incomes have also risen significantly, to the point where a typical salary, even on the low end, is sufficient to live on without freelancing part-time.
The difference is stark, but the industry started off huge, there was plenty of inertia, and many punters were refusing to see the changes. For almost a decade, we've seen attrition with very few new faces, but many of the older providers hanging on. This was apparent everywhere, but most obvious in oilies like Tulip.
This situation was dire well before Covid, and the pandemic won't make it better. I just don't see where the large supply of girls would come from. Perhaps the economic crisis brewing in Laos (nearing a breakdown) would send a few working girls over the border, but that won't last long and is unlikely to have large effects down in Bangkok.
Meanwhile, there's no shortage of punters, so with the full reopening, it's only natural to expect prices to go up, and quality way down. At one point, I guess they'll stop coming.
Plenty of places were mongering meccas for a while, but withered due to various factors, usually demographics and increasing wealth of the locals, coupled with some significant event. I hear 1988 Olympic Games killed mongering for foreigners in Seoul and SARS in 2003 killed foreigner bars in Hong Kong. Thailand is here now, unfavorable background trends plus a major event. Now, mongering will never disappear (it still exists in both Seoul in HK), but it might change to be smaller and mostly for locals, no longer worthwhile for most visitors, especially long-distance ones.

Back to Bangkok, my wingman and I stayed at the Novotel hotel on Soi Nana, close to Nana plaza. For my wingman, it was his first time in Bangkok, so I tried to show him as much as I can in the short time we had together. He was moving on to the PI one day earlier than me, and I was going to Pattaya.
We flew from Singapore and landed in Bangkok late afternoon on a Sunday. Going through immigration at the airport was a breeze, to my surprise. The same with the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel. I managed to drag my wingman through two must-do activities for me, when I am in Bangkok. First, it was my afternoon coffee break at the bakery at JW Marriott on Soi 2. On this trip, I also tried the bakery at Sofitel and I was disappointed. I did not like their pastry.
Then we went for a walk on Sukhumvit all the way to Asok and terminal 21. We had dinner at Cabbages and Condoms on Soi 12, a must for me on every trip to Bangkok. And the sex scene for the local punter is already way more discreet than it used to be. 20 years ago when it was very acceptable for a group of men to leave the office, go to a soapy, have a meal, have girls, and then head home. Interesting reading the last few posts, with a tinge of nostalgia. I personally prefer Thailand over Colombia. The sessions are less transactional, very few people speak English in Colombia, and one has to always be on alert for safety reasons. Plus no comparison about the food. Thai cuisine is far superior. I speak decent Spanish.
However, I just came back from a trip to Thailand. The trip was brutal, 17 hours from SFO to Singapore, plus another 2 hours to get to Bangkok.

The street action in China Town just off Yaowarat Road is famous. The quality is very low as is the price.Yes, 600 was the going rate (before covid) A bit dirty and seedy, but, then again, so am I. There always seems to be at least one "prego" SW there when I roam around.

Having just done a few visits to Hua Hin, and a stocktake of my own backyard around Rawai whcih showed lots of new talent recently arrived.
I am still of the opinion that a lot of country girl talent (both Isaan and Northern) skip Bangkok and follow family or friends connections to smaller places and bars.
I used to live in Bkk but left in 2019 and went to live in the Philippines, I am in Bkk now on a 'visa run' and it's my first visit to Thailand in 3 years.
Arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport last weekend on a flight from Manila, and before I went through Immigration, I was asked to provide my proof of vaccination record and my passport. They were only checking the name on the vax record to see if it matched the name on the passport, there was no validation check on the authenticity of the vax record, each inspection lasted no more than about 10 seconds. I don't actually have a genuine vax record so I was lucky that they didn't try and validate it, but my guess is with the numbers now coming through the airport they won't have the resources to validate every single vax record. You only need to provide proof of a negative test if you are unable to show your vax record.
Apart from the brief check mentioned above, there are no other restrictions for foreign tourists arriving in the country, all the other restrictions and requirements ie compulsory health insurance, the Travel Pass etc that were in place, were dropped on July 1.
When I was living in Bkk I used to visit the 3 main gogo bar areas about once a week. I had my favourite bars in each area and there was always a good choice of pretty girls available in those bars.
Last Saturday night I went to Patpong, the night market is no longer operating though there were still a few stalls open on Silom Road but very few people about. The majority of the gogo bars in Patpong were closed. Most of the area was in darkness and there were hardly any visitors about. I would be surprised it it ever recovers. The main Kings Castle bar (King 1) was open and had an acceptable number of girls up on the stage, but the numbers were way down on pre 2019 when the bar was always bursting with girls. On my visit last Saturday I'd say there were only about a fifth of the number. I thought the quality of girls was below average, IMO prior to 2019 the quality was always above average and the bar was always popular with the Japanese and other Asians, as well as with Westerners. There were few customers in the other bars.

One of my favourite bars at Nana Plaza was Billboard on the top floor, it was then a very popular bar always crammed full of girls, many of which I thought were very pretty, and you could always see quite a few really smoking-hot girls in the bar. Tilac bar looked very busy from the outside, almost all tables at the outside patio area were occupied with customers and had a few girls floating around, but inside there were only 3 girls up on the stage and about the same number of customers. It always used to be a very popular bar with dozens of dancers, and was always busy with a lot of customers.
I went into Crazy House bar, it always used to be stuffed full of mostly pretty girls as well as some really smoking-hot girls, but on my visit on Monday the number of girls was about less than half of normal, and the quality was a bit on the rough side. It always used to be stuffed full of customers as well, though on Monday night the bar was quite busy with customers rather than being stuffed full of them. The upstairs area was closed.
Baccara bar used to have a system whereby you had to pay for a drink BEFORE entry into the bar, but they have done away with that and you now enter the bar, find a seat then order a drink. Girl numbers were way down, and there were not too many customers.

One of my favourite bars at Nana Plaza was Billboard on the top floor, it was then a very popular bar always crammed full of girls, many of which I thought were very pretty, and you could always see quite a few really smoking-hot girls in the bar. Arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport last weekend on a flight from Manila, and before I went through Immigration, I was asked to provide my proof of vaccination record and my passport. They were only checking the name on the vax record to see if it matched the name on the passport, there was no validation check on the authenticity of the vax record, each inspection lasted no more than about 10 seconds. I don't actually have a genuine vax record so I was lucky that they didn't try and validate it, but my guess is with the numbers now coming through the airport they won't have the resources to validate every single vax record. You only need to provide proof of a negative test if you are unable to show your vax record.
Apart from the brief check mentioned above, there are no other restrictions for foreign tourists arriving in the country, all the other restrictions and requirements ie compulsory health insurance, the Travel Pass etc that were in place, were dropped on July 1.I recently checked the Thai embassy's site in my country and it appears that they don't require a vax certification anymore prior to giving a visa. They want either double vaxxed people (with proof) or a negative test (PCR or Antigen) 72 hours prior departure. And as you said, every other requirements have been dropped (and no quarantine also).
Tilac bar looked very busy from the outside, almost all tables at the outside patio area were occupied with customers and had a few girls floating around, but inside there were only 3 girls up on the stage and about the same number of customers. I realize it can be different for an expat residing in Bangkok like me compared to someone here for only two weeks. But, same as you, I am having no problem finding available girls at good prices right now. I would go even further to say I am getting some of the youngest and cutest girls I have had in a while. But I think that any hotel property damage, they just let it go. I one of the rooms had visible damage and it's been there ever since.
What I've been doing is using Majestic Suites as a shor time hotel in a way. Because it's about $20-$30 a night, give or take. But I don't sleep there. It's very noisy. I'd recommend bringing earplugs. Not only do you hear the clubs banging all night along with loud A / C but you can hear everything next door.

I agree Billboards has went down in quality by a lot from years past. I remember that place having very pretty girls, and the DJ and music was really great. I was there from July 1 to July 4th. Baccara, Skyfall, Sapphire, Pin-up, Farenheight, Palace were all up and running.

You are referring to Twister on the ground flow. It is becoming one of the largest clubs for sure and they are only using half the stages that they now have. If they can get both stages full it will be a monster.
I was in there on the weekend. I noticed some girls had numbers on them while some did not. After chatting to one of the girls it turns out that the "unnumbered" girls are paid about 500 baht to just dance and as soon as they are done they just hang in a dressing room. I assume they are agency girls just making up the numbers.

I passed by La Belle the other day and saw a big sign out front announcing that it was now open. I checked around a bit and saw that Nancy's and Colonze were open as well. I took a taxi to Colonze and immediately thought I made a mistake. There were some men and one woman standing around outside just talking and loitering. My first impression was that it might not actually be open or that maybe a new operation had opened in the old Colonze space, so when they told me I had to take a COVID test on the spot I nearly walked. Great news that La Belle, Nancy's and Colonze are open again. I would imagine the need for an ATK will fall by the wayside 2 to 3 weeks after the big reopen. That has been the pattern with other big reopens during the year.

Went there recently and, contrary to some reports, it's hopping and full of spunk. The girls at Crazy House are a bit older and fatter than before (aren't we all?) but at least they are still naked. Was in Bangkok last Thursday night, yes, the Buddha Day bar closed night.
Have to say I was highly highly disapponited.
The strip between Soi 11 and Soi 15 Thermae along sukhumvit was LB filled, probably 50-60% of them.
And then dropping away the too ugly to mentions, another 30%, that just left 10-20% that were attractive.

Narita wifi has to be the worst world wide. On return to USA Incheon has to be best world wide. One click you on very good and fast speeds.
I'm trying to rethink but I might go as far to say Rainbow 5 is better now than pre COVID. Their girls are pretty and personable. Not all but a few here and there. Which in my book is a lot. I've never found Baccara girls fun.

Is it worth while to go now. Yes.Glad you had a good time. I know things are wildly spotty from one night to the next, hour to hour or bar to bar. But I honestly feel even during the low times it is or was quite possible to encounter a gem well worth the time and money. Often in an environment of very low numbers of paying customers. Not a bad thing at all, IMO.
I stopped in Rainbow 2 last night which, pre Covid, was often cited here as one of the go-to bars for higher quality (looks) girls. Well, not so much these days, same as other such bars right now. But there were still 2-3 lookers and I still had a good time meeting several girls there. But I already had a new girl from another bar with me and she made the whole night a treat anyway.

Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder.
I think there is definitely a couple of cute girls that would appeal to Asian taste. But 90% of the girls there are your standard Nana Bar Girl. That is tatted up single mother with baby damage from Issan with very little education. Not that appealing in my opinion at very much tourist prices.

Aside from Telegram and Skout are there any other apps with a 'nearby' function, which is used widely in Asia?

I passed by La Belle the other day and saw a big sign out front announcing that it was now open. I checked around a bit and saw that Nancy's and Colonze were open as well. I took a taxi to Colonze and immediately thought I made a mistake. There were some men and one woman standing around outside just talking and loitering. My first impression was that it might not actually be open or that maybe a new operation had opened in the old Colonze space, so when they told me I had to take a COVID test on the spot I nearly walked. I'm glad I didn't. Once inside I could see it was clean and bright and recently remodeled. There were at least 50 girls, arranged by price / category. The lowest price is around 2500 and it, of course, goes up from there. The quality of girls was high there were some really cute girls with something for everyone.
