I have read anecdotal reports of American punters getting "the business" upon their return to the United States after traveling to Thailand. I would be interested in additional details from Mr. Maximus.
What, exactly, did the authorities do that you thought was a hassle? Random nasty comments from government employees while going through the usual formalities? Pointed questioning regarding your activities while abroad? Referral to secondary inspection? Searching your luggage? Examining the content on personal electronic devices?

In addition to that I found out that it does much less for me than I expected.I've used several different generic Sildenafil (Viagra) and Tadalafil (Cialis) as well as Viagra and Cialis. My experience is they all work, but both Viagra and Cialis work better than the generics. Due to my age and arterial blockage I have mild ED. I young, healthy guy using it so he can be a rock hard, marathon stud may find no differences between the brand name and generic.

Day 1.
Went to Bangkok Beats (round the corner from the hotel) too many blokes there compared to women, so don't bother as prices are high and the women get picky. The drinks prices are reasonable and there is a live band but far too many blokes outnumbering women say 2-1 at least.

Last July, I went thru customs at LAX, travelling from Bangkok. I was carrying commercial merchandise and I was delayed in customs by a glitch in my paperwork. A lot of US Citizens who travel to Thailand, The Philippines, Cambodia and many other countries do not realize that US Customs and Border Protection Service is now specifically required to question anybody suspected of "Sex Tourism" and if they find any evidence of sex tourism, to pass the information on to appropriate authorities.
Last July, I went thru customs at LAX, travelling from Bangkok. I was carrying commercial merchandise and I was delayed in customs by a glitch in my paperwork. While I was waiting, they started questioning me pointedly about my stay in Thailand and visits to the Philippines. They examined my mobile and found some pictures taken at a pool party in Angeles City. Fortunately, everybody was in bathing suits and no bare flesh was showing but they really honed in on how did I know the girls were over 18. What proof had I demanded? I was questioned for a long time and a US Marshell was called in. He also questioned me and took down all my passport details. After about 90 minutes of this BS, a supervisor determined that there was nothing specific to justify further questioning and I was allowed to pass out of customs. BTW, just to add insult to injury; all the Customs officers spoke Spanish among themselves when discussing my case.
It is really important to make sure every electronic device you carry into the USA is clean of anything even remotely suggesting sexual activity as indeed, it has been made their business.I am sure this advice was given before.
Upload all the pictures whether it is naughty or nice to your email. You can recover it and store in your computer from your e mails. So in case anybody checks or questions there is nothing on your mobile device or camera.
Usually they check everything and ask all sorts of questions if they find other irregularities rather than just pull you out for questioning just because your passport shows stamps from Thailand and Philippines.
Anyway, I will spend 24h in BKK soon, have a nice plan to fill those hours, and a few holes, and then on to another exciting, non boring place, with lot of weird sex, I have named Tokyo.Well sorry about being a guy with such plain likes and nothing in the weird category. There is limited expectation of privacy for e-mail sitting on a server, so governments could eavesdrop on those to their heart's content without a warrant. And it can increasingly be done in automated ways, no need for a human in the loop except to review the flagged items. What you're basically doing is moving files from a place where they might be inspected, to a place where they will be inspected in an automated way, and where they remain forever outside your control. Moreover, those files are still on your SD cards/hard drive unless you did a secure overwrite (not just move/delete).
The fact that you're not doing anything illegal now, doesn't mean it won't become illegal later, and that you won't be retroactively prosecuted for it (or just harassed, if it remains legal).

There are many of these storage locations and whilst I am sure none of these servers will stand a dedicated assault to inspect its contents, the sheer size of these storages will make it difficult to link it back to you. Delete the photos from the camera and overwrite them with other pictures: make sure the memory is totally full of photos.
Once at home, download from the storage site to a USB-drive and delete the stored files.

I took the trolley to Tijuana at 1:33pm today. When I crossed the border the place where I always change money said be back in 5 minutes. So I ate a taco for 15 pesos. I exchanged $55 at a rate of 12. 735 and got 700. 42 pesos. Now the best exchange rate I saw today was at the place right next to McDonald's when you get off the trolley. Their rate was 12. 919, so I will be using them from now on...
I almost made it to the border when I saw the churro man. Dammit all to hell. I must have gained 8 pounds today. I asked him how much and he said 13 pesos. I told him to give me 10 pesos worth then because that is all I had. He filled the bag up and I ate them on my way to the line. Since I have the Global Entry Card I was able to go to the Sentry line. Actually there wasn't really a line since I was the only one there. I just went ahead of the people who were actually waiting in the regular line. I handed the Immigration guy my card and he scanned it. This was the moment I had been planning for all day. He asked me what I was doing in Mexico. I told him,"NOTHING. JUST FUCKIN' THEM HOES." He didn't bat an eyelid. He just said,"Okay. Go on." The time was 6:59pm and I had 100 pesos left.

BunkyI fully understand the differences between yield (brokers in the USA now seem to prefer to call this income from the investment. I guess it is easier for the average person to understand) , capital gains (appreciation in value of the security) and total return on investment. Let me be more explicit. In 2012 my investments yielded 3. 5, the value of my investments appreciated about 7. 5. My ROI for the year was about 11. Of course in 2007 & 2008 the values took a beating, but my yields in absolute dollars hardly changed (so as a percentage of the value they actually went up).

My initial thoughts are that BKK is probably more expensive and action kind of spread out. Since I'm accustomed to Walking Street, I obviously feel very comfortable with everything right there and a very guest friendly hotel. Is the quality of the girls appreciably better in BKK, or am I wise to stay with all that Pattaya has to offer? I also imagine that one has to travel to different locations? Cost of hotels are higher, etc?

The smarter you are the more successful you will be. I'm not buying into this mass hysteria. Guy gets stopped because his paperwork is in order and gets his electronic devices searched. I'm not getting this. What is the probable cause? Because he was in Asia? Flimsy to say the least. And even if there are nude pictures on your PC it's the governments responsibility to prove guilt. First off we can't legally search you without "probable cause" therefore we have a screening process which we ask questions about your trip looking for signs of hesitation, nervousness etc. If you just said "I went on vacation or business" you would of gone through the line no problems, but when you become combative and show telling signs of not telling the truth. You've just played into the "I'm HIDING SOMETHING ZONE". There is a saying "Just go along to get along"
You are a citizen of the USA and you say you know your rights, but ANY LE Agency has the "RIGHT" to ask you where you been and what you were doing. We aren't trying to pry into your private life we are just doing our job. Which is the screening process.

I'the recommend since you're transiting BKK anyway leave Patts early and spend a night or two at the JW. Great digs and location overlooking ground zero and you'll find everything you need at NaNa.

I have pretty much settled on BKK as the main place I come now. The hotels here are not that much more and actually a much broader selection for decent prices. GF is the norm.
Don't be intimidated. It is not as spread out as you think. You can walk from Nana area to Soi Cowboy with many SW and FL spots between. Also, take Skytrain to other areas such as Patpong.

Yes, its a term now starting to be used by the "rescue industry" to convert all providers into victims, therefore turning all clients into potential aiders and and abettors of trafficking,The sad folks at IPJ (another NGO) love playing politics with the Philippines. And the fourth time was maybe a year and a half ago. I came from Colombia to New York. I went through Global Entry and was in a hurry to make my connection. After I got my card out of the machine and started making a dash the customs agent ran up behind me and asked me to come with her. We went to a normal table in that same huge room where all the baggage carousels are. I recommend since you're transiting BKK anyway leave Patts early and spend a night or two at the J.W. Marriott. Great digs and location overlooking ground zero and you'll find everything you need at Nana Plaza.This is my favored itinerary. I spend the majority of my time in Pattaya, where like the original poster I enjoy the vibe. But on my way home I spend at least a few nights in Bangkok. The scene isn't *really* that spread out. You've got Soi Cowboy and you've got Nana Plaza, and the Skytrain connecting them. Scope out the Bangkok hotel thread and pick any of the recommended places. You'll end up with easy access to the naughty boy haunts. As for the quality of the girls, that's a debate never to be settled. I personally like the go go scene and to my eye the top girls in Bangkok at places like Rainbow 4 in Nana or Baccara on Soi Cowboy are very hot indeed. Finally, when my holiday is finally over it's nice to be closer to the airport.

all i have to go on is my anecdotal experiences. going through us customs for me has been a breeze for the last 15 years. i present myself as a polite, well dressed, but tired citizen returning to my country after a 5 week asian excursion and a long grueling flight. i am asked where i have been and with a tired smile i say thailand, philippines, and macau (my usual haunts). that usually does it. once in a while i am asked if i am carrying any food products or if i have been on a farm during my trip. i casually respond with a no. once or twice i was asked what my occupation is. i tell them real estate investment. then they always say, welcome back and i say it is good to be home. that's it.
but things were not always this easy for me. my rough times with us customs were in my early years of travel back in the late '70s and early '80s. i don't know if it was because i was a long hair or because i was traveling to and from latin america all the time and fit their profile or customs was more rigorous back then, but in any case my suitcase was always searched. i hated the treatment i used to get returning to my own country. land of the free yeah, right!

Actually, funnily enough I offered her a drink. Fast (express) and slow (regular) the express train take around 20 min and slow train take around 35min. So before taking the ticket of express train kindly ask the time cause express train travel at the interval of 30 min. If there is waiting of more then 15 min then it is advisable to take the regular train to paya thai and the ticket counter of the regular train is at the back side of express train ticket counter.
The fair till Phaya thai for express train is 90 bhat and regular train is 45 bhat and you have to spend another 25 bhat for traveling from Phaya thai to Nana.

One question, does both the express and the regular train stop at Phaya thai since that is where I need to catch the BTS to go to Nana?The regular train goes to Phaya Thai, the airport express does not, it stops short and you would need to change trains, so the regular city line is the way to go. When you get off at Phaya Thai there is a lift down one floor and then another lift down another floor, not the same lift, and then a longer walk (about 100yds) to Phaya Thai station.

When asking for the bill ("Check bin") they will give you a condom with your change. Last time I was there, they even gave me two condoms. My reputation must have preceded me. ;)

There are *two* express trains from the airport, one going to Makkasan (inconvenient connection to MRT which goes to Sukhumwit / Asok) , and another express going directly to Phaya Thai (connection to BTS). There's also the regular train going to Phaya Thai and making all the stops.

Well I went in to the beer garden on soi 7 tonight because the music was awesome. Was not looking for a girl so I sat with a friendly looking guy at the bar. He spoke Thai as he says he's lived here for 17 years.
Turns out we're both music fanatics. So we sat for an hour talking about everyone from the Stones to Lou Reed. Suddenly this goddess appears out of nowhere and latches on to me.
Now my new friend acts as interpreter and we arrange a long stay for 2000baht. I say goodbye to the guy and moon and I head home. I'm kind of in a dream state. Why is she so attracted to me?
She definitely a good actress. Put me right at ease. She sends me to the shower by myself. Alarm bells went but I didn't hear them. Now would be a good time to search the room. Too bad-all good stuff in safe. After showering, she goes in and showers. I get the money out of my shorts and put it on the table.
She comes out and is pleased to see it but doesn't take it yet.
Then the passion begins and quite frankly, I definitely got my money's worth. The sheet was soaked in cum-hers not mine. I never even got it in her.
Her phone rings and she has to take it because it could be her mom (she had pre-warned me on this). But guess what? It's her sister calling to say mom had a heart attack! Holy shit the flood gates opened up!
What's a guy to do? I told her to go and look after her mom and let her take the money too. So if a 5 foot 6 looker who claims to be 40 and shows you her boobs are real and tells you she will do everything for you cums along. You decide. Just make sure the valuables are locked up when she sends you to shower alone.
Not a happy ending for me but quite a few for her. And hey, that's my specialty.

It is hard enough trying to find a good Thai restaurant in South Florida. I don't fly 23 hours MIA to BKK in order to get served the same sort of bland dishes I can find in Fort Lauderdale or indulge for that matter in the same style P4P available in my neck of the woods. I have no use for Farang Thai style restaurants that water down the flavor to suit tourists or cut costs. I am not necessarily talking about heat. Some Thai dishes are not meant to be hot, but all Thai cuisine is meant to be flavorful due to the rather liberal and complex use of herbs and seasonings employed by genuine Thai cooks. And when certain Thai dishes ARE meant to be hot, they should never be damped down for any reason. I hate it when I am asked how hot I want something. Serve it to me the way the cook would eat it. Better yet, don't ask because when a restaurant starts to ask this question it means they have already crossed the line and made certain compromises.

I found it flavourful and spicy where it should.On most subjects Thai punter related you and I tend to agree, therefor on the Cabbages question; I guess we will have to just respectfully disagree. To further the conversation a little, here is a short list of some of my all-time favorite BKK restaurants:
Chote Chitr: address 146 Praeng Phuton Road, is a small storefront restaurant near the Royal Palace that serves up really good authentic Thai cuisine. Give them a try for lunch.
Bussaracum: address 1 Si Wiang Road (off Soi Pramuan) , is on the high end / gourmet quality spectrum of Thai restaurants, but just as authentic as Chote Chitr. This place is unbelievable. The set course lunch is a great deal considering the quality and number of selections and dinner at Bussaracum is one of the best choices in BKK at any price.
Rut & Lek: address Soi Texas off Thanon Yaowarat in Chinatown, also deserves honorable mention on my favorite BKK restaurants list. It is open only at night, but serves up some the best seafood you will find anywhere.
So try one of these restaurants next time you are in BKK and let me know what you think.

I will be visiting for the first time in June I plan on spending four or five days in Bangkok and then two weeks in Pattaya. I have a late flight that does not get into BKK until 12:30 AM I want to get a hotel that is right in the heart of the action and easy for a newbe to BKK to figure out the scene and get some action on the first night. I was thinking of staying at the Nana Plaza hotel but I am open to any other suggestion from the board. I am looking for a modest price room. Where is a good place for a newbe to stay his first night so he can find the action late at night on the first night.

Ground zero location, $50 a night, safe in room, decent pool, and the morning breakfast buffet is included in the price. If you don't end up liking the place just move after a day or two. Plenty of hotels in the area.

1. GF Hotels. What does girl friendly hotel means in Bangkok. Does it mean a girl can just come to my room at anytime be herself, or I can come with her to my room at any time. Most probably I will be staying at Amari Watergate, and I have read it is GF.
