this is the big question isn't it? if it comes i don't think it will be due to feminism as much as to pure economics. there is obviously loads of money being made by the sex industry catering to farangs (i don't think the one catering to thai's will ever go away) but our sex trade is just so visible and looks so disreputable. that money goes into a lot of pockets from owners to girls to cops and probably much higher. but there is also much much more money being made through legitimate tourists who spend far more money per person than your average sex tourist. stay in the nicer hotels, eat in better restaurants, take trips etc. i don't know if these two strains of tourism can really co-exist forever. watching families walking down soi 4 is one of the oddest things ever and i think is one reason why the police have been cracking down so hard on street girls over the past couple of years. they are unsightly, they leave a bad impression on tourists, that's what they talk about when they go home. so these two different forces of making money are in conflict with one another and i expect some day. whether next week or in 20 years. that the economic forces of the legitimate tourism will slowly or maybe quickly force the sex industry out or make it much more discreet. goodbye gogos mainly and perhaps the ever expanding beer bar scene. you look around lower sukhumvit and you will see luxury hotels and condos being built by the handful. do you think these places want all this crap going on in their neighborhood? you see the same thing going on in pattaya.

i witnessed this on a smaller scale in boca chica in the dominican republic. back in the 1990's this tiny beachside town was overflowing with chicas; and guys from all over the world went there to sample the sun and the girls. but there were also a few all-inclusive hotels catering to charter flights from europe and these places did not even allow girls to be brought back. so these really were legit tourists with their families and girlfriends. over time these hotels that had the money and influence forced the govt to crack down on the girls and force them out. boca is now a shadow of a shadow of what it used to be.

the other factor is what you mention. thailand is changing faster than a speeding bullet socially and economically and the internet and other modes of communication are pushing that. all of these working girls are on facebook. it's really amazing. it allows thai's to see the rest of the world and also to see how the rest of the world views thailand. the snl skit sort of brought that to the forefront recently. it was embarrassing to the govt and to the thai's. this is how the world really views this country. for all that thailand has to offer and as far as they have come, most of the world still sees thailand as a hooker paradise. at what point do they have enough pride to say enough is enough. how long will it be before a politician sees an opportunity to win votes by promising a crusade to shut down the farang aspects of the sex industry. maybe never or as you say maybe much sooner.really appreciate your insightful comments. yes, i think that it will come down to the fact that the open outward p4p scene cannot coexist with the mainstream industry forever. remember that certain mayor of manila who in one fail swoop closed much of the cities naughty entertainment? seoul did the same thing right before the olympics. it will happen here, it is just a matter of when. the farang scene first and then eventually some of the more outward aspects of the thai scene. social media has for sure given thais a window on the world they have never had, it has for all of us. and for sure at some point someone will "clean up this town." pattaya might be another matter though.

Really appreciate your insightful comments. Remember that certain mayor of Manila who in one fail swoop closed much of the cities naughty entertainment? Seoul did the same thing right before the Olympics. It will happen here, it is just a matter of when. .I agree DDRonin made good comments. And I share your feelings too. We should look at what is going to happen (and somehow something is already happening) in Rio and in Brazil in general with the upcoming Olympics. We already experienced action in China for the Olympics in Bejing and with the world trade fair in Shangai. Amsterdam RLD, though, became a tourist icon, with families visiting the alleys and look at the windows (with hookers in). Knowing how liberal the Dutch are I would not wonder if sooner or later they will fund a few girls or ladies to display in the windows as part of the tourist attractions. They are not shy as the Thais, tho'

Respective gentlemen!

First, I'd like to thank everyone here for input. Just to clarify 3 things: I am not ugly, I am not on a budget and I do like the very best in terms of talent / looks / attidute.

For that reason, semi-pros / FLs or, if time allows, non-pros are my preference anywhere I go, as with them one is more likely to achieve GFE experience. All that said, I'm not blessed with either patience or time and thus can't invest the time needed to cultivate non-pros (although I had some luck by preparing the ground via the internet way in advance). Consequently, I can't afford "fixating" (as one of you put it) only on model-quality.

All this results I always devise a two-prong strategy (that in my great number of trips proved effective) :

1. Prepare well in advance a good list of "regular" places to visit (I. E. Places where model-type beauty is unlikely to be found and *7 with good attitude is the best one can expect).

2. Prepare well in advance a list of places where semi-pros / FLs (on occasion non-pros) congregate and strike my luck there. This includes working the DIA / TLL and the like ahead of the visit.

Given that Phillipinas exhibit good GFE and speak English (based on some posts) and AC has quantities that can be perhaps translated into quality. I tend to choose AC or Manilla over Pattaya, as GFE / English is much more valuable to me than Pattaya, which I understand is similar to NEP, only in greater quantity and more relaxed setting.

In any case, I found your continued input very helpful to think things through. Thank you!

Have you Googled any pictures of Angeles City, Pattaya, and Bangkok? General pics of each city / town and pics of the girls, would give you a feel for the type of girls you will see. AC is a hole in the wall, with several bars on a strip not much bigger than Soi Cowboy. It is a one trick pony. Each location has fans, but I suggest you use the eye test, and Google pics and Youtube videos of each. While I agree with Natty's overview, I believe how great each is will be in the eye of the beholder. AC was a fun experience the first time, but each following visit seemed less fun than the one before it. After a while, it became an after thought. I would say those that like AC will prefer Pattaya over BKK and visa versa. That is a generalization, and I know how dangerous generalizations are. Different strokes for different folks.

wow! i really don't see it that way. can't comment on patters, but bkk is a shadow of its former self.ya its still very easy to have fun in bkk and anyone can still get laid 24/7 if they are not very discriminating or have a lot of money, but i think a lot of guys who come here for a week or two are not really in a position to see the forest for the trees. and guys will always say that some of us view bangkok thru the fog of time and there may be some truth to that, but bangkok used to be such an incredibly wild place. it was a river of girls flowing everywhere from all over thailand asking for money that felt like pocket change. it's still great and there is no place i would rather be, but it really is nothing compared to what it was even ten years ago in regards to girls. and i think the fear for some of us is that the trend will continue; fewer and less attractive girls, higher prices and a less service oriented attitude. this is what happens everywhere as countries go up the development and educational ladder and globalization / social media has just speeded this up. remember the old days when after you entered the room the girl would kneel down to take off your shoes or the price was always "up to you" and they sort of meant it. and long time and short time was a very squishy concept? i don't want to sound too nostalgic but when you get older it's hard not to be at times!

A friend of mine was there a couple of years ago and the Hotel he stayed at had guards at the front entrance armed with shot-guns. You can run into trouble in any large city but more so in Manila. If you do decide to go two places which do have good looking ladies are Air-force one and Midnight, if they are still open.

1. Since you expressed an interest in younger (age 18 to 23) women, you should be warned that in the Phillipines the laws are much harsher than Thailand should you for example (in good faith) mistake a 17 year old female for being 18 years old. Fake I'd's are common, and setup scams in fact are often directed at gullible newbies.

2. Manila is where the wealth and power is concentrated, so it attracts far more upscale model types (whether they be P4P, semi pro, or normal women) than AC. Keep in mind though as a general rule, many want to exit Manila and the Phillipines itself, seeing it as a hopeless cause, far different than the typical attitude in Thailand, where Bangkok is often considered to be an amazing Megalopolis of world class proportions.

3. Lets say hypothetically (and I'm not saying this is your situation per se) a high end monger was really planning on blowing a lot of dollars because he wanted world class beauties, and this included tipping various procurers etc in different venues, and lets say he would pay extra for it. While being too visible probably is not too wise anywhere in the world, it would be far more dangerous doing that in Manila than for example in Bangkok. The poverty problems in Manila far exceed Bangkok, and such desperation can cause people to do extreme things.

Hey W, you just jogged my memory. Is "A" the guy who came to the BKK forum a couple of weeks ago telling us he was travelling to BKK and he was looking exclusively for 18 to 23 year old model types. I remember now. When I suggested BKK Gold Escorts as well as La Belle and some G-Clubs, he responded that none of the Gold Escort girls fit his criteria? A, if you are this guy, then forget about AC. They have some pretty girls there, but you will be very unhappy there unless you adjust your sights. That is some sound advice! My sensei in all things in this hobby! I have to just say, 'thank you! ' for all your posts. I've been reading them these past few months and it's been keeping the embers burning in my heart (and loins) until my next foray into Asia. It's creeping up on 10 months since I've gone overseas, and I do miss Thailand very much (May 2012 trip) and AC (June 2011). I can't wait to run away again.

To new hobbyists,

I got rid of a lot of my high level expectations when I went to the PI in 2011. To be honest, I was sure as hell looking for that 'perfect' and stunning hot PI girl. Instead, I ended up falling head over heals for a girl who had a very GND (as much as can be said for that in the PI) look, so I suppose a 6 on my scale, but she had just a great personality and gave me the best GFE I've ever had. Best 5 days of my entire trip was the time I spent with her! So I was looking for a 9 or 10 and found one of the best GFE with a 6! I'm glad that experience made me shake those high expectations.

BJLOL! You are so right. The McDonald's in Manila had a guard with a shot gun, and in AC the hotels off Fields ave there were guards with guns. The first time in Manila and AC were WTF moments! Aaaah the memories! I also do not recommend walking off the beaten path in AC, if someone says they have something to show you. ;)

For the mongers waxing poetic about the changes in BKK, in my neck of the woods a house cost US$20,000 40 years ago, US$100,000 30 years ago, and somewhere upwards of US$600,000 now. Pussy jumping from 200 baht to 2,000 baht or more is all relative.

Last week I wasted a bar fine, drinks, and dinner on a gal named Sherry from Black Pagoda in Patpong. She's the tall, slender, chop-stick (about 5'10" without the heels.) We left out of there, had a good time on the town for a little while, but that's not what I paid her for. At the hotel, she was a non-performer. Tried to turn away from kissing, no oral action, and lackluster FS (if you can even call it that.) And wanted to leave at 3am from our "Long Time" agreement. I suggest seeing if you can get in touch with Eliot Spitzer and ask him where he was getting 5K an hour model / escorts. The closest I've seen to something like that was at Night Flight in Moscow.

I will submit a detailed report later but just to quickly input what I have seen / experienced so far: The quality of girls has hit the bottom if not rock bottom. I could hardly find 1-2 doables at Mango. 1 at SW and none at many other MPs I channed upon near soi cowboy area. The girls are almost all flat chested and not good looking at all. Same with FLs at Beer garden / Thermae. Not even one stunner. Thermae girls prefer japs so even if you do find one or two that may fit the bill for the night, they won't be intestrested in you in the first place. The FLs on streets are terrible looking.

While mongering I prefer to come across a girl whose face / body make me pay for her, preferably instantly. Sadly, that is not the case here. Out of some 200 I have seen in past few days, not even 5 would hit 5/10 on my scale.

Baccara had about 2/3 pretty looking ones, I would rate them as 7-7. 5 but they are picked up before you can blink an eyelid. By Japs of course.

Perhaps I am too choosy but it does seem like that standard is dropping very fast in Bangkok. Plenty of very good looking Thais in malls / metros but in MPs / Pickup joints etc. Nothing. Nada. Rien

JMHOI respectfully disagree. First, NF in Moscow is for succers. Myself and many others find it far from model quality! Almost any top Moscow disco has model-quality girls. But again, what's model quality for one is non-quality for others. I think I defined in my previous posts what's model quality for me. I will repeat it here: young (18-23) , fresh-faced, very slim, gorgeous face and smile, GFE attitude. Doesn't matter how she's dressed, doesn't matter if she's not tall. A girl next door can be model quality for me. Playboy doesn't define that quality in my book. I think that based on the above-mentioned description. 3000 specimens in a meet market like AC can yield what I'm looking for. Of course, I'm also pursuing other angles to this chase. i have been at afterskool in soi cowboy a couple of days ago.

Had a touch down at 6. 30 PM after gruesome 32 hours travel time not including a bloody hellish 7 hours in the plane on the runway. Was grumpy and sleepless.

I hope this guide helps, and my prices could be a few years outdated, so others can correct me if inflation has made my information obsolete. These are also generalizations. Bottom line, the 3, 000 baht mongering budget will limit what you can do or the number of times or venues you can try. Every 'adventure' will cost you 2, 000 baht on average. Some less and some more.

I end up spending 10,000 baht or more per day (at least one oily, a soapy or freelancer, and a go go bar or club). I play pool, shop, or do other things to keep myself entertained in between. You can have fun for 4,000 baht all in (girls, food, other, but excluding the hotel) , but it does limit you in different ways. You will most likely be going the freelancer or Oily massage route or you will be blowing your budget at one stop.

Be sure the hotel you pick is guest friendly, or you could be paying a 'joiner fee', which is another 500 baht out of your pocket.

Which in your opinion are the 'must visit' bars in Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy?

I've gone back 100 pages and it seems that Baccara is the best on Soi Cowboy, with Shark, Tilac and Dollhouse not far behind. In Nana Plaza it seems that Rainbow 4 is still the top dog (as it was on my last BKK visit four years ago) although I've heard good things about Mandarin and Billboard. I like young pretty girls with good attitudes. Like everyone I don't like being hassled for lady drinks every two minutes and I'm not particularly fussed about seeing shows.

Any tips would be appreciated. I will post a lengthy diary (with photos) when I return.

LanceI can't really speak to Soi Cowboy. I just don't like the place. It's a weird combination of small friendly bars with only a handful or two of girls, what are termed "The Arab Bars" which are a bunch of glitzy high priced gogos with lots of Coyote girls who do their best to get you to buy them expensive Lady drinks before they give you the bad news that you can't barfine them and then the bars you mention that have been around a while and have not yet been scooped up by The Arab. Getting a list of The Arab bars to avoid is probably more important than knowing where to go. Baccarra by most accounts is the best but at least on the night I went a couple weeks ago it was full of surgically enhanced females.

Nana Plaza for me is much more accessible though perhaps too many Lady Boy bars for comfort but they are pretty obvious. Rainbow 4 has a lot of girls but it can be almost too much. 2 stages packed with girls, not enough seating and droves of guys. You feel like you are at a cattle auction (not that I have even been to a cattle auction). I think Billboard is the best these days. Lots of places to sit. Some very nice looking girls of different sizes, a jacuzi with some real cuties in it and a helpful staff. There are two Mandarin bars. One on the second floor. Avoid it in general and one right off to the side of it in which you have to climb some steep stairs. You may want to be sober for those stairs. This one can have some very nice looking girls at times and more than any bar I have been in Nana can be very hands on. It is kind of dark and smokey. The girls and Mamasan's can be too aggressive but if you see a girl you like and have her come over chances are she will be quite friendly. The other bar you don't mention that I think is worth a visit is Mercury. Right next to the downstairs Mandarin Bar. Some lovely girls in there but again not nearly enough seating. And then gogos like the 2 Eroticas, Rainbow 1 & 3, Las Vegas and probably most of the others will have at least 2-3 girls of note. Gogos are ever shifting landscapes. One night you can go into one and you feel like you have landed in Paradise and you go back two nights later and wonder if you had been drunk on your previous visit because you don't see anything you like. It's all in timing.

Bangkok has many options and a price range to fit almost every wallet.

I am gold member of Marriott, but do not go to the JWM in Soi2, for instance as it is not worth, even if breakfast is included and even if you get points. If you can score some nights redeeming you rpoints it make sense as the total stay will cost you much less.

But seen the 4+ star hotel prices in BKK you get a similar quality for at least 30/40% lower price. I am not talking about ratholes sa I am not a cheap charlie checling the 100's bahts

In all three venues, you will be with the girl one on one. In the Soapies and Oily's, you will be in a private room. At the G-Clubs, you will be seated with the girl. Just ask for their number. In a G-Club, be discrete, since you are in the open. You do not want to get the girl in trouble. If you get their number, you're in. If not, you know to move on. In the old days I kept a pen and paper in my pants pocket. Now you can just use your smart phone. The only problem would be in places like Akane, where they put your belongings in a locker.

I have taken my share of girls from those gogo's. I will be checking out Billboard too. I have not been in that bar. The start and closing times have changed over the many years. I remember Nana closing at midnight, after one crack down period maybe 5 or more years ago. I hear the Nana and Soi Cowboy bars are now staying open till 2am to 2:30am. 7pm would be early. I do not usually hit the gogo's till later. I have passed on a few girls before, since it was "too early" and I wanted to window shop and enjoy a few beers. For example on my last trip to Philippines I tried to visit every bar on Fields Avenue and although the massive gogo bars (I. E Atlantis) had some real honeys in amongst the 70 or 80 girls onstage, you could find equally pretty girls in the small, intimate bars for half of the price (3000 pesos v 1700 pesos). I love 'gogo crawls' because the thrill is in the chase and there are always gems to be found if you're patient. The secret is to try not to drink too much Singha otherwise it impairs judgment!

As for bar crawling, here is a strategy that one of my friends shared with me. Hope it's helpful and any comments are welcome:

The strategy is as follows:

1. Don't sit in any bar. Just go in, say to those who want to sit you down that you're looking for your friends and get out after 2 minutes.

2. How do you spend the 2 minutes that you're in the bar. Check the girls very carefully and note if any hotties are there.

3. Once you complete the circle of few bars and remember where most of the hotties are. Return to that bar and take a table this time. After one drink only (one can't just barfine without a drink, it seems). Barfine the girl out.

4. If you want 2 girls, go with the chosen girl to another bar with the 2nd best hottie that you spotted earlier, and repeat #3.

5. Do all of the above relatively early, perhaps 8-9 pm, when the girls are fresh and places are not mobbed to a degree that one can't examine the territory quickly.

The above assumes that one knows exactly what he's looking for, keeps an eye on the "ball" and doesn't have to sit and get wasted.

Best time I think is 9pm or shortly after though it's possible some may already be barfined by then. By timing I meant more that girls come and go in gogo bars very quickly either moving on to another place or quitting, or they go back home to Issan for a lengthy vacation or it is their day off or they have been barfined already. So you can go into a gogo where you had seen a number of hotties a week before and none of them are working that night. Happens all the time. And one of the Universal Laws of Gogo's is that if there is one girl you are especially looking for the chances that she will be there that night is strangely small. I have no idea why. Also Gogo bars can go from great to crap in a very short time due to bad management or some blow-up with the girls or a mamasan who leaves and takes a lot of the girls with her. Keeping talent in the gogos is not easy and is why places like RB4 are held in such high esteem.

In Nana these days gogos are open till 2am or 2:30 but you really should not wait too late to make your decision because by 11pm a high pct of the better looking girls will be barfined. Though of course some may be back for seconds. Or thirds.

DRRonin gives some very good observations.

If you're looking for young pretty girls with good attitudes, then you may want to try Mandarin GoGo at Nana (the one on the right and up steep stairs next to Mandarin Table Top GoGo. Manage alcohol intake according to how far you're prepared to fall down when you leave). When I was there in Sept, the bar was running two rotations of girls. One of smaller schoolgirls (no spinners) and the other with taller svelt young things. Quite a number of PYTs and generally a good attitude from girls and staff. Not pushy with drinks (mostly) but that doesn't mean that they don't ask! There seemed to be more of a push to do ST rather than LT so you may not get your first choice if LT is what you're wanting.

Mandarin Table Top also has some sweeties. The one I met there I didn't takeaway as it was a case of first girl-first bar-first night and I still wanted to play.

Sorry but have never been to Billboard. Something for next time.

IMHO stay away from Mercury which is next door. I watched them stitch up a Korean guy and his bill multiplied by a factor of 5 in just 10 minutes by the time mamasan had finished with him. I sipped my coke quietly in the shadows and slipped out the door before she got her hooks into me.

Unlike DRRonin, I've haunted Soi Cowboy for years and will admit to Rawhide as being one of my regular lurking places. For awhile it benefited from being the poor sister of Long Gun in that it was quieter but still had some reasonable lookers with a good attitude. Mamasan recognises me no matter how long it is between visits and seems to know what I like. I've enjoyed the place in the past but it did seem to be in decline when I was last there (although I was off alcohol that time!)

Dollhouse is an enigma. I've had good hunting there and there's always a cutie or two. But in Sept I went there every night for over a week and I would have been lucky to see more than a dozen guys over the entire time. You'd think getting a girl would have been like shooting fish in a barrel but they were too busy shuffling, looking in the mirror and then racing to the bathroom. This wan't the first visit that I've seen this. It still keeps getting good reviews but I don't see how. But I still have a soft spot for it.

Baccara, Shark and Tilac do nothing for me at all as the usual clientele has created a demanding environment where dollars determine attitude. I prefer to take my drinks and the girls at my own pace.

Overall, Soi Cowboy has lost its quieter charm and gone the way that Nana went while Nana has recovered IMHO.

AT2Billboard IMO is a very good place in that it is wide and spacious, has a soapy show and although the volume of ladies is not huge the quality is above the other venues in Nana. Angelwitch is an underestimated place. If you like shows it has them in abundance. There is one show where they get a member of the audience and give him a high energy lap-dance on stage. Very amusing to see the wide grin from the guy. I was there last Saturday night and saw 6 or 7 ladies which are as good looking as you will get anywhere in Nana.

7 pm is very early to be hitting the go-go's. As for kicking yourself for passing up some of the girls, why not go to the ST places located in both Soi Cowboy and Nana then kick back and watch the shows?

Soi Cowboy comes under the Thonglor Police district and Nana is covered by Lumphini.

Nana bars tend to close at 2 or 2:30 whereas quite a lot in Cowboy are open until 3 am.

All the Thai dishes I have eaten there were of a reasonably good standard.

I went there last Saturday and did not feel hungry enough to order a main course so I decided on appetizers. Having company we ordered beef strips, deep fried chicken in bread crumbs and vegetable spring roll's. The beef strips were way over-cooked, the chicken was gristle in bread crumbs and the spring rolls were adequate.

Any recommendations around Soi 11, 7 or 5 for thai food? I am trying to avoid the tourist restaurants, if possible. Also, if there are any other cuisine or restaurant that you recommend, I would like to have your opinions.There are two places on Soi 11 which I thought were very nice. Both serve very good food and are both on the left as you walk down from Sukhumvit. I don't remember the name of the first place but the front is festooned with plant's, you can't miss it. This one is the more expensive of the two. The second is called Suk 11. More reasonably priced the advantage this place has is that the food is cooked to very old Thai recipes. I would highly recommend both places.

I arrived in Bangkok on Sunday February 24. In the afternoon, I went for an oil massage on Soi 8 at a place called Cozy massage or something similar. The woman who gave me a massage was okay looking, but a bit older than I'd like (mid 30s I'd guess). After turning over, she asked if I would like my cock massaged. So after dinner at Suda restaurant (Soi 14 I believe) , I went for a walk.

I went to Soi Cowboy to check out the darkness. It was very eerie seeing the place at night all closed down. The downside was the annoying tuk tuk drivers trying to get me to pay them to take me to a place that is open. They were more annoying than ever.

After that, I walked down Sukhumvit towards NEP. When I passed by the closed Thermae, there were a bunch a women out front, but not nearly as many that were inside the previous night. Very fresh and honest). Zanzibar in Soi 11 was crap food last time I was there. The German pub is okay.

Soi 5 has Foodland's "Tuuk Lae Dee" (Cheap but Good) for a quick bite Thai or western, and there used to be an okay thai restaurant upstairs nearby. Soi 7 has many places together outdoors competing for your business.

Thanks to those who commented on my question about getting the girls from MPs to one's hotel. As for bar crawling, here is a strategy that one of my friends shared with me. Hope it's helpful and any comments are welcome. The strategy is as follows:

Been to Rosabieng, but thought it was a bit "touristy". I like the smaller venues. The Japanese restaurant, Uzuki, in the Grand President is really quite good for basic food and reasonable as well. You can tell it is good, because all the Japanese expat workers land up there to drink and eat after work. The decompress by talking golf, beer and home, so the food there is to their tastes.

The "Old German Beer House" across the street from Uzuki is pretty good and is always busy with european expats, so the food must be ok. I found it to be good in my taste, but I am not a knowledgable German cuisine person. In the same lane that the beer house is on are a couple of italian restaurants that I have not tried yet. Looked at the Australian Pub next door, but never visited it, yet.

It took quite a bit of work trying to book United award travel from SFO to BKK. Probably the biggest obstacle in doing this was myself. After, you purchase a phone and internet plan with DTAC which is rumored to be the cheapest. Unlimited internet (3G for all Thailand) + 100bht talk time (buy more at 7/11). My 2 week package cost 600bht. Total for iPhone=2100bht.

I am so used to my iPhone, GPS google navigation, Waze navigation plus apps for the BKK metro service. Looking at things after all is said and done, it is worth it. Any recommendations around Soi 11, 7 or 5 for thai food? I am trying to avoid the tourist restaurants, if possible. One of the more creative ruses I have come across is "give me a one hour Nuru massage for 1, 500 baht (the price is 2, 000) and I will bring four friends here tomorrow". Very easily dealt with, I tell them to pay the 2, 000 baht and when they bring their four friends the following day I will refund him the 500 baht provided he takes another lady himself. Usual response is a slightly mystified look followed by a less appealing counter offer.

It's all good fun really. One other response is that I tell customers we don't give discount on the particular day it happens be. I am very surprised how readily this is accepted.

I'll be coming to Bangkok for the first time in March. My flight lands at like 1150pm. Trying to figure out where to get a girl when I get to my hotel real late. After customs, and taxi to hotel, ill prolly get to the airport like 2am'ish right? I'm staying at the marriott next to nana plaza. The gogos are closed that time no? What are my choices in that area at that time? Just girls on street? Any agencies or MP open? Searching the forums for as much info as I can find, I'm so exicted!George, you have plenty of time if you play it smart. I also land at that time on one of the US carriers from Narita and often stay at the JW. I am usually on a bar stool by a bit past one with plenty of time for fun. Here are some tips:

1. Get your ass off the plane as fast as possible. If possible choose a seat near the door and on the left side for quicker deplaning.

2. Once off the plane, walk very quickly to Immigration, look for the signs. It can be a long walk and you can pass a lot of people, thus saving time at Immigration which is the worst bottleneck standing between you and your ultimate goal: getting to a bar with a cold drink and a beautiful Thai girl! Obviously, don't stop to shop at Duty Free either!

3. There are 3 immigration lobbies in Suvarnabhumi, although not all 3 are open all the time. If the lobby you go into first has super long lines (maybe more than 10 or 15 per line) , go check out the next one. While walking down the big wide corridor with the immigration signs that go to the left, you can see the other lobbies.

4. Once thru Immigration, look for the sign that shows which belt your bags are coming in on. Then find an ATM, there are many in baggage claim. Get your Thai baht now to save time. Key Tip: take money in an amount that ends in 900 baht, e. G. 5900 baht. 8900 baht. 11900 baht. That way you have some smaller bills for the taxi and you're not stuck with all 1000 baht notes when you go out.

5. Hopefully, you are now waiting for your bag. I usually take a dump in one of the baggage claim restrooms at this time too, saving another 5 minutes later. Sorry if that's TMI.

6. Once you get you bag, proceed thru Customs, don't even look at the Customs guys, just walk thru. You do NOT have to put your bag on the belt to go thru the machine; if people are queued up to do that, just walk past them.

7. Once thru Customs you enter the Arrivals Lobby, one of the more poorly designed parts of the airport as it's narrow and crowded. Make a right turn out of Customs and follow the signs for "Public Taxi". BTW, ignore ALL the touts in the airport trying to get you to use their taxies. My experience is they are not necessarily faster (sometimes you wait) and they are 2-3x as much.

8. You see the sign for 'Public Taxi' directing you to go down one level to the where the taxis are. Go down the moving ramp and keep looking for the Public Taxi signs. Exit the airport through the right revolving doors, and you'll see a bunch of desks set up by the curb with lines in front of them, they are usually not long. Choose the shortest and when you get to the front, tell the girl you want to go to the "JW Marriott on Sukhumvit". Don't just say "Marriott" or you might end up at the wrong hotel. 9. When you get into the taxi, tell the driver again where you are going and also tell him: "Expressway" and "Tollway" and hand him 100 baht. Passengers are responsible for paying tolls and the total is 70 baht. He should give you 30 baht change before you arrive (after he pays the last toll). If they don't, I ask them in Thai why they didn't and give them a shitty tip, but 95% of the time they give it to me without asking. Don't try to be cheap and not give him toll money, if he suspects you might stiff him on tolls, he may get off the expressway and take surface streets, adding valuable time to your commute into the city.

10. You will arrive at the JW maybe 30 minutes later if (a) he's fast, (b.) traffic is light, (c.) he goes the right way taking the U-Turn and not Soi 3. There's not much you can do though. Just wait. When you arrive at the JW you owe him the meter PLUS 50 baht for the airport surcharge, plus tip. I usually have huge heavy bags and if the guy is cool I usually just give 300. The meter will be about 220 or so.

11. Don't let the bell boys take your luggage, unless you make them promise to go with you and tell them you are in a hurry. I know them all so they know I am in a hurry and they follow me up the elevator. If you let the bell boy take your bag and he disappears, it may take awhile before he shows up in your room with your bag. Obviously, you have to check in now too. If you have been fast, you will beat most of the passengers coming in from the airport to the hotel and the check in lines will be short.

12. Once in your room, just get your shower and other stuff done and get your ass out the door to Nana. I actually usually go to Soi Cowboy my first night. Even with the late 11:50 arrival, it is possible to be on a barstool easily by 1:15. Remember that after 2:30AM when the bars close, there is action in the parking lot area outside of Nana Plaza and along Sukhumvit at the street bars. Some days ago I was at the Nana hotel car park at about 8pm.

There were already quite a lot of girls around.

Arrived to BKK on Friday from Hong kong tired at 3pm, went to a public taxi stand for a ride to sukhumvit soi 23 hotel. It appears that my go to late night massage spot, Sabai Sabai is no longer 24/7. I hit NEP, took out a girl from Rainbow 4. A hottie, but not a real performer. As an addendum to the Suvarnabhumi arrival tips that I posted yesterday while I was en route, here are the actual times for my arrival last night at Suvarnabhumi. Some of the times in the middle are estimates as I wrote this in the taxi into town, but the key ones are touch down at 23:40 and in the taxi by 00:17, just 37 minutes elapsed. I admit this was a 'fast' one, as the Immigration lines were short, my bag was one of the first to appear, and there was no taxi line. But, I flew coach in the back of the plane and did not make the first shuttle bus, although it didn't matter as I was waiting on my bag at baggage claim anyway.

23:40 Wheels down (scheduled for 23:50, 10 minutes early!)

23:46 Plane parks at 'gate', out on the tarmac somewhere.

23:55 Into the shuttle bus for ride to the terminal.

23:59 Arrive Main Terminal.

00:00 In line at Immigration (1 person in front of me)

00:03 Thru Immigration.

00:07 ATM withdraw, first dump in Thailand done, waiting for my bag at Baggage Claim.

00:11 My bag is on my cart, exiting baggage claim.

00:14 Through Customs, walk downstairs, into the taxi queue (no line!)

00:17 In the taxi on the way to the hotel, hand the driver 70 baht for tolls and relax (and type this note)

00:50 Arrive JW Marriott.

What this illustrates is that it's completely possible to have some quality bar time the same night you arrive on a late night flight. However, as this was Election Eve. All the bars were closed.

I've been in Bangkok before for elections, and it has always seemed that there were still plenty of options. But last night was terrible. I arrived last night and was out in Nana by about 1:30, normally the place is humming at that time. I knew the bars would be closed, but I was hoping that the outside action would be going strong, but it sure as shit wasn't.

I'm guessing that maybe all the girls on the street were already taken as guys didn't have the option to take them from the bars, so it was slim pickings by 1:30 AM. I'd guess there were maybe a dozen girls (not counting ladyboys) around, and probably some of them had already been up for STs earlier in the evening. There weren't very many guys around either, just a dead scene.

I thought the street bars along the lower Sukhumvit would be operating, but there wasn't a single one. So the police were definitely enforcing the rule. Not even a single beer to be had in the parking lot from the ladies who upsell the 20 baht beers from 7-11 to 80-100 baht. The only option were the tuk tuk touts saying they could bring me to an open bar with "many young lady".

Luckily, I ran into a girl I had known before and after a quick negotiation we were up to my room and I had a fantastic time. I am back in the airport this AM already to fly up country so my one night in Bangkok was a success, which goes to show that it doesn't matter if a place is dead or has very few options (e. G, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai sometimes, etc.) , all you need is that one great girl and your night can be a huge success. Having 50, 000 options like in Pattaya doesn't mean it'll be better, as you can only take one or two anyway, or 3 or 4.

Old German Pub is located in Soi 11 across street from Grand President (they even cater the 3 tower in Gran President). But Cafe 6 is the Presidents real cafe even if I find Old German Bar better in many aspects.
