My first response is to sort of agree, but I think there are a couple of related factors. First thing that occurs to me is that the average Chinese girl often is more physically attractive to me than the average American girl. Why? So many reasons! She usually is not overweight, has long, straight, natural hair, wears no or very little makeup, no fake tits, better shape from lots of walking, etc. Anyone who's been to China has to agree in general.
Second, there's the extra points we get for being Western. Just by walking around, we are the object of positive interest, I definately feel that each time I go to China. And after a couple of days of that experience, we start to feel more confidence in ourselves. Oddly enough, I was able to maintain that same confident feeling back in the states, which also helped a lot with the domestic chicks.
Third, the Chinese standard of beauty (as exemplified by advertisements and billboards) seems to be somewhat westernized nowadays, petite, light-skinned, with small faces and open, rounded eyes. Of course they are attractive but they are so generic-looking. I also find the more natural and Chinese-looking girls with round faces, slanted eyes, and more pigmented skins to be just as attractive. And as I walk around Beijing, I'm always astounded by the sheer tremendous variation in faces; whoever claimed all chinese people look alike has never been to China!
So, no flames for Old Asia Hand, just my perspective from 5 short trips to China over the last 3 years.

OAHI can speak Chinese so the English ability matters very little. But i agree it possibly would make a difference if i couldnt speak chinese. Part of the attraction for me is the ability to flirt and communicate with the girls. It definitely adds to my interest. Luckily i can flirt in the local dialect so than i can focus on my preferences. But it's true, one mans beauty can definitely be anothers dog. Isn't that what makes it all great, we all have our own tastes and luckily everyone has their own look. Eventually when we move on from mongering, hopefully we find that one that we think is great and of course hopefully they think the same of us. If we want though, maybe we can ask Jackson for one more thread where we can all post our girls and vote to see which is the most popular. I would have to disagree, OAH. My pretty/ugly switch flips long before I exchange the first words with a woman. Only later will I know what languages she speaks, or how well.
Now, success in getting her to bed may hinge mightily on communication. It may certainly be the case that many beauties are lost due to my lack of Chinese speaking skills. It would have to be communication, right? Not my western appearance, or age, or pot belly, right? :-)
In any case, I think there are other issues that weigh on the perceived beauty of women posted in this forum. Having dabbled a bit in photography, I'd like to state an opinion that most of us (myself included) *suck* as still photographers of women. Beauty is perceived by much more than the momentary image by the human mind. We are attracted to physical attributes, but are also attracted by grace in motion, proportion, response to our actions, etc. These things are exceedingly difficult to capture in a still image.
Lighting is one critical element of capturing beauty. We almost never light our photographs properly. It is impractical for the most part. But the budding erotic photographer would do well to study lighting, and try to use the available light to advantage. Pick the most beautiful woman you know, and ask to see her passport photo. In that picture she probably sucks, right? Well she doesn't, but the photo does. The lighting sucks, the pose sucks, the emotion is gone. You wouldn't pay 100RMB to have her in your room, I suspect, if you go by that photo.
Lighting alone won't do it though. Quality still photos have to capture the emotion of the moment, and that is very difficult. It requires an amazing amount of trust and communication between the photographer and the subject, that usually won't come from short paid sessions.
About the only photographer I've seen get even close to this on the forum is, no surprise I guess, Cronin. He uses decent lighting (though I don't know exactly what he does, but I suspect a somewhat off camera flash either bounced or diffused, but not a simple built-in flash) and he probably spends time in Photoshop making sure the final image is properly balanced. His images are sharp, so I suspect he's using pretty decent lenses. He's not using a phone camera.
But even so, compare Sugar Baba's still captures to his videos. The women are much much prettier when you see them in the video. That's because you get to appreciate their more full dimensionality - their expressions, their movement, all of their bodies, and you integrate this in your mind. You get much more information from which to judge beauty.
I suspect many of the women shown here are *much* more attactive in person than the photos indicate.
Now, with all that said, I also think guys are attracted to what they grew up with. So westerners are likely to be attracted to asian women who trigger more western ideas. I know that I frequently marvel at the women I choose looking vaguely like some western actress that I found attractive in the past, or some other girl I knew from the past to which I was attracted. Most of those past lasses happened to be non-asians.
I suspect many of my baked-in tastes just don't work with my asian born brethren. Here's an example. There is a waitress on the second floor of Blue Angel in Shanghai, a new one, named Sasha. I happen to think she is just abolutely gorgeous. And I know why. She looks like someone from my past who I always thought was stunning. It was the first thing I thought when I saw her. That girl from my past is caucasian. I'd be interested to know if any asian born and raised brethren who know her find her equally as attractive. Maybe not. (I don't have a photo, or I'd post it and ask). They probably aren't tuned into the western features (like her cute dimples) that I find so compelling.
Bottom line though is I think most of the women captured here are *much* prettier in person, live, than they are as seen from our crappy photos.

I would agree with Cebu and David...a little of english might make it more GFE for non-speakers.
For those who speak Chinese (eg myself), we'll be able to figure out if they've got a good 'attitude' once they 'open their mouth' (so to speak)....
And I know quite of few native speakers who still characterize the way many of the PRC girls talk/converse as being very - can't think of the english term - eg. "uncouth/crude/lacking in polish/ungraceful". IMHO

I find them more attractive the less English they can speak. In fact, fluency in English is an absolute turn off no matter how perceivably gorgeous the girl might be.
With fluency tends to come shrewdness and an underlying sense in the mind that they completely understand the western man and know how to manipulate him, which in many cases, I suspect is true for newbies on the scene who are drawn to these types of women.

A guy on another forum posted that he was visiting the Phillipines this year and that he has in the past spent a lot of time in Thailand.
He said he doesn't fall in love with the Filipinas as often as he does the Thai girls.
He thinks it's because the Filipinas speak considerable English and he can

Having said that, let me add my point of view.
Sexual or just physical attraction has nothing to do with language skills. In the past, and now here in China, I had many interesting meetings with girls with whom it was difficult to communicate, as I did not know local language and they didn't know any of the languages I speak.
As David said, attraction starts far before you know if you can communicate properly with that girl. Despite you later discover communication may be difficult, you try to finalize anyhow.
As Santa said, communication helps in finding a GF or a more or less stable relationship. When you look for such a woman, you may decide to compromise and to accept a non-good looking companion.

It is not polite to talk, talk, talk, inside any serious picture gallery. Some of these photographers really very work hard at getting the pictures just right, some do not. Some are talented, others are not. Some of the girls try to give the photographer the artistic pose and sexy look he is after, some do not.

I would agree with Cebu and David...a little of english might make it more GFE for non-speakers.
