It is common knowledge that the town is not so safe and getting worse since they SEZ border checkpoints are more lax nowadays. There are stories of various scams and ripoffs in the local and HK papers every day. This is not the first time I have heard about the same ripoffs recently mentioned on this thread.

Having said all that, I often monger alone. I never follow anybody on the street to an unknown place, except in Sha Tsui where I will follow a mamasan for a line-up. I reckon this is safe since there are so many people everywhere in Sha Tsui and this practice is common. I will only take a SW back to my hotel, never to her place and, I watch her the whole time she is in the room including in the bathroom. Most frequently, I patronize the BBS where at least you know where the girl came from if you have trouble. The MP VIP room is a good option, but more expensive and no guarantees of FS as Love Asia mentions. Sorry for the confusion...I paid 800RMB for the VIP card which entitles me to 1000RMB worth of house charges. The HJ massage is 88 to house and 100 to the gal. Only the 88RMB comes off the VIP cards and the gal gets the 100RMB cash.

since the make up of the place is almost the same, i'll concentrate on xia sha, as compared, it's more happening than shang sha.

anways, it's just adjacent to each other, if you don't believe me, you can always move to the other side to explore.

generally speaking xia sha have the highest concentration of health clubs, massage palours.

it's also targetted to the hong kongers.

imagine this, while walking just a few steps, you'll see massage palours on your left, your right, and what a scene!

in fact, you can find that there are massage palours back to back of each other...

the street that is the most happening is called xia sha jie. (end of xia sha jie is connected to shang sha)

this is the geylang of shenzhen!!!

i've read some writers introducing that there were 1000 girls wanting your sperm, that's an exaggerating statement.

the truth of the place is that it's basically alot of back alleys.each alley, there would be alot of fuck shops in disguise.

it's actually a dead give away.

Slowly been working my way round SZ since my last post. Experimentation a little hampered by hesitation to use BBS and a warped chivalrous nature which prevents me from turning down the first xiaojie delivered to the room unless the sirens really go off.

Behind Jusco has become a favourite - in particular the MP off the main road which plays pornos with the bits fuzzed out. At Jusco, or at any barbershop in China, ask to take the girl to your hotel room. Then ask for two shots (liang ci =2 times). Then point to your watch and negociate amount of time (yige zhong= 1 hour, liange zhong= 2 hours). Last time I was at Jusco I got 2 shots and 2 hours for only 200rmb plus 20 for taxi. The King wanted to explore a new area in Meilin. We explored part of it and found around 20-25 shops on 8-10 alleys. Each shop has as few as one girl and as many as 8. Quality was from 3-7. Sort of a Jusco on a much smaller scale. Many of the girls and mamas seemed very friendly and foreigner interested. A couple of the mamas tried to overcharge initially. 1st. I think Sha Tsui is Futian. Nowhere near Bao'an or Nantou. Easiest way to get there is Binhe Road, left on Xinzhou Road to end, turn right, back entrance comes up about 400 meters down on the right (look for supermarket on the corner); right at next intersection takes you to the front gate.

2nd If you don't want special service, go to legit sauna. The FS sauna girls typically give worthless massage in Shenzhen. Standard procedure: Enter, take locker key, get undressed and put gear in the locker, shower, steam; sauna (communal, yes, naked Chinese guys); jacuzzi; pools, rest area for a drink and fruit, foot massage, manicure, pedicure, foot massage, etc., body massage, shower, dress, pay, leave. VIP rooms are more expensive, but can be self-contained with your own shower and steam.

In light of the recent reports on the crackdown, I've been staying away from Sha Tsui. I headed down to Jusco. I made a market visit and, frankly, IMHO, the overall quality of talent has gone down. Last Monday night was my first opportunity to try to Shenzhen MTR. I will be the first to admit that the SZ metro does not measure up to his Hong Kong counterpart, although the two subway systems do have 2 things in common; they are both underground and they both take people to places they want to go. But that is where the similarities end.

The Hong Kong MTR is incredibly well planned, and can get you to where you need to be in a fraction of the time that you could by driving a car. The SZ metro stops at every fire hydrant and newspaper stand in Shenzhen. I think that at last count there were about 400 stations between Window of the World and Jusco. But the good news is that the metro does indeed stop at Jusco, so now there is one less reason not to go there (except for the 400 stops along the way, of course).

So stop at Jusco I did, after too long an absence from SZ. I wandered the alleys in classic style, with cold beer in hand and shit eating grin on face. The talent was a little limited on Monday evening, but alley 4 had one shop with two interesting prospects from Hunan. I accepted the Mama’s invitation to sit with a 20-year old cutie from Hunan. True, nothing in the CDC article suggests Hep B/C can be diagonized by smell. That is not to say it can't be - I would prefer to err on the side of caution dismissing those I suspect of smelling like Hep C/B carriers.

It didn’t happened in Shenzhen but my first time in Humen (Taiping), Dongguan. . First I got ripped off by a taxi, later a SW and almost robbed by two guys on a motorcycle. They don’t use meters in taxis in Humen.

It was close to 2am and I was checking out the SW across the street from my hotel. It was my first day in Humen and there were about 15 girls. Two guys on motorcycle were also checking out the SW. I briefly looked at the two guys and walked away. About two minutes later, the two guys came from behind and grabbed my gold necklace from my neck. Stick to a few simple rules, like not bringing jewelery or flashing with anything valueables. If you bring cameras or other valuables, keep it in a neutral backpack and keep it in front of you. Do not walk alone in places you do not know, but at the same time, avoid crowded places. Look around you all the times and pay attention to anything that makes you suspicious, stay alert all the time.

As for wallet, documents and money, split it up and keep things seperated.

Leave credit cards at home, or if taken with you, limit it to one that you are going to use.

Reports in local Hong Kong newspapers tells about people who got kidnapped or framed in apartments, where they were forced to leave the PIN codes to their CC card. If the person persisted, they were tortured in all means until they got it. Heard about getting your nails torn away from your fingers, one by one? Heard about gangs threathening to kill you if your family doesn't pay ransom? I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley CA, never far from gang activity and its violence.
Not to make light of Weelock's experience, what goes on in Shenzhen is more along the lines of pick-pockets, random theft, rip-offs. Many of my Chinese friends have confirmed this, telling me Shenzhen (and also Guangzhou) is notorious for theft, "so be careful with your wallet, PC, camera...".

It is usually not dangerous if you keep your wits about you. And often can be avoided as noted by DayNight.

Dragon Spring is a pretty nice hotel, probably 3 to 4 stars. If you are looking for a KTV, its right behind the hotel. The rooms are pretty standard and the quality of the girls varies... of course, depends on individual tastes.

If you are looking for interesting places, there are several KTVs in the Longhua town. Jingpeng, Tingyuan, Dilongcheng and Tiandu are just several hotels that have KTVs facilities. To those who may be new to mongering in China may I offer the following friendly advice.

Only carry small amounts of cash.

Put your valubles in the hotel safe.

Never go to her place, take her to your room, otherwise you may get robbed. Barbershops (knocking shops) have small rooms attached, they are ok for a quicky but often are dirty, sometimes lack privacy and without showers.

KTVs can be a big ripoff. Only go with friends who know the rules and prices.

It's legal to take a girl to your hotel room before 11pm, so do your mongering early. I think daytime is best, it's less rushed than evenings and it's cheaper than doing overnight.

Make sure she turns off her cell phone.

Negotiate EVERYTHING up front. Don't overpay. If the price is high, walk!

For example, in July 2004 (no known holiday at that time), SZ seemed to be under partial crackdown. In Beijing, I am told there used to be a lot of BBS near Qianmen subway station, and these have been gone for more than a year. Also in Beijing, low-cost SWs (200-300 ST, which is low for Beijing) used to be readily available along East 3rd Ring Road near Fridays, and this has been stopped for all of 2005 as far as I have seen (although I saw some posts indicating higher-priced SWs are still available a bit further up the road, but that sure as hell doesn't help those of us in the lower-price market).

Now, I'm in Chongqing, and, as reported in the forum, things have quieted down in recent weeks. Not only is there National Day coming, but also the Asian Mayors Summit. I know it sounds paranoid, but it pains me to think that I have some kind of "bad luck cloud" following me around, so that wherever I go, there is a crackdown in progress. I guess we'll see. 1) The girl belongs to the mama that brings you.

2) You do it in her apartment.

I would strictly say what you encountered in BJ as a crackdown but the govt eliminating the trade in the area you are talking about due to the profile of the city. Jusco is a shopping mall/supermarket on the south side of Shennan Lu. Lu means "road". It is not far west from Lizhi Gongyuan. Gongyuan means "park". Ask at hotel desk.

In front of the building is a nice Starbucks. Go to the back of the building and search the many alley ways back there, especially over to the left. Keep searching, because some of them are easy to miss.

Short time full service is RMB150. I think it's best to find a girl in the daytime and take back to your hotel, this is when many of the shops are not yet open and they are not busy. First off, seems like Pfizer is making a big push with Viagra into the Chinese market right now. It's been available for about 1-2 years in China, I think, but only in the past 3-6 months have I noticed such a all-out push. About 70-80% of all the larger, cleaner drugstores/pharmacies in Shenzhen and Guangzhou have posters on the front windows or even a free-standing display pushing "Wei Ge" (pinyin for Viagra's Chinese name). Pricey, though, at average price of 125 RMB per 100mg pill (about $15 USD). Funny thing is that in about half the drugstores I inquired about Viagra, they would offer me a generic product unless I specified the real thing, so look for the white box with blue lettering, check Pfizer website for example. The generic ran from 40-50 RMB per pill, but don't recommend it. I have used the Viagra from larger, cleaner drugstores and can confirm it's genuine, but better to order high-quality generics.

Day 4 of the National Day Holidays didn't seem to lessen the availability of gals in the Jusco or Walmart areas. Can confirm OAH's observation that the former "candyland" side of Walmart seems to have hit a resurgence in number of shops while the opposite side has seen a decline. It was about 7pm and I could only do a quick check, but counted 8 open shops plus 7 in the back alleys; about 30-40 gals. Standard price should be 150 ST. Afterwards, went to check out Jusco and there were plenty of gals in the alleys. Looked like business as usual.

The New World Department Store area in Meiling, aka "Poor Man's Jusco", was also business as usual. (see my earlier report about this area with map and pics). Walked quickly through all the alleys and counted about 25 shops with about 40 gals available. This area is much more like a village area with happy, dirty kids running around everywhere, mobile street vendors selling cut fruits/dried duck necks/sweet tofu by the cup, and lots of people mulling about in general. If you're uncomfortable walking past a bunch of guys playing cards or a young couple eating dinner on an outdoor table to go into the BBS next door, don't try this area. I was getting all kinds of stares and I mostly look local, so I can imagine it would much more unwanted attention if you don't look Chinese. But I don't think there would be any trouble regardless, the dozens of "security" and "bao an" mulling about seemed to not give a rat's ass about anything. Walked past plenty of them and directly into a BBS. Standard price should be 130 RMB.

Overall, best-looking gals and biggest selection (6-8s) at Jusco area. Youngest-looking gals (plenty looked 18-ish...barely, if even that) in the New World Department area but you gotta hunt long and hard for 8s, gals were generally in the 4-7 category.

Your description is correct. Went to this area in Shang Mei Lin. There are bbs everywhere, a jungle of massage parlors, but the entourage is terrible. The girls are looking at best average. The security is no problem.

But this is a place for very low budget as the competition is fierce due to an excess of supply. During the Golden week the business is slow, creating a very perverse situation. If you can make consessions on the environment and quality of girls this is a Man's Paradise.

After a delay of some sorts, was able to meet up with OAH and convinced him to prowl the alleys of Sha Tsui. He was hesitant, based on board reports, but my opinion is that believe half the things you read and know that all things change quickly in China.

Definately less girls walking around the street and hanging out in the alleys, but still should be no problems getting a good looking girl. There are more security guys than normal, mostly Bao An "security guys", but there are a few genuine cops prowling about on motorcycles. Even saw a monger stopped because he mistakenly drove his car down an alley while checking out gals. Anyway, there were several groups of Bao An marching (yes, marching) about in groups of 5-6, and unintentionally, we passed them about 3 times and they didn't bat an eye at OAH or I. Later on, passed by other groups of Bao An, Gong An, and general security guys without incident. My feeling is that it was less inviting to cause trouble since I'm Asian-looking and it isn't as entertaining as bothering two mongering white guys.

Well, since there were fewer girls on the street (about 40-50 compared to usual hundreds) I pushed the Emperor to go with different mamas and look at 3 lineups, which is usually the most efficient way to see the most girls in the shortest time.

LE are not paid off by KTV to go after BBS as they get all their stock from the BBS downstairs and split the money. The extra money is for the time sitting and playing in the KTV. Next time you got to Sha Tsui BBS and go out for FS see what happens. There is someone who records the name of the gal and asks her which BBS she works for and the the KTV mama.

This trip to China started on a less-than-stellar note. Anyway; If you're a firsttimer in Shenzhen. Ask your hotel! Don't bother asking a taxi driver to go to Jusco; they have no clue what you're talking about. Believe me, I tried a few. Why? Coz I thought it would be a bit embarrassing to ask the girl at the front desk where I could find Jusco.

Well, Don't be embarrassed! Coz Jusco is indeed a big mall, with lots of bars & restaurants in front (although my cabbie dropped me at the back - which is actually the area you need to be). The front side (where Starbucks also is) seems like a good place to hang out with friends/colleagues at night, to have a drink, or 2. And it says Jusco in giant letters on several places, so if you're in the area, you can't miss it.
So, go ahead and ask the girl at the frontdesk. She can explain it to the taxi driver. So anyway, the taxi driver took me there and I asked him to write it down for me in Chinese. Handy for the next time.

Anyway. The area I found is just ok. Because it is my first time I have no way of knowing if this is what it's always like. And, it was already past 10pm, maybe that also is not a good time coz I saw a lot of guys go there in the afternoon. Lots of girls though. The area is at the back (so not the side of starbucks; walk around), then walk to the left until you find a crossing, go to the right; then it is the area on the left of that street. Go into the alleys, as you have already been reading a lot here.

Next time, I'll try out some pick up joints. I must say I like that a lot better. The hunting game is a lot more satisfying.

You can compare a GFE with a GFE, and PSE with a PSE, but you can't compare a GFE with a PSE. It's like asking, "What do you like better, a truck or an apple". Or something to that effect.

I didn't want to take them to my hotel. Too much hassle at the moment. So they took me up to one of their rooms in another alley. Almost the same as Madrid - also good simetimes btw.

So we took a shower and they took care of me. All in all it lasted about 30 minutes, which is not too bad, but for sure could be better. The problem is that these young girls have no clue what to do. They just look amazingly great, so I keep choosing them, but somehow it's just not it.

Anyway, for all you firsttimers out there (like myself until today); you now know where to find Jusco. The area is at the back (so not the side of starbucks; walk around), then walk to the left until you find a crossing, go to the right; then it is the area on the left of that street. Go into the alleys, as you have already been reading a lot here.

Next time, I'll try out some pick up joints. I must say I like that a lot better. The hunting game is a lot more satisfying.

'bareWuzhou GH is on the intersection of Xinzhou Road and the mighty Shennan Road. Very handy for your conference but I know of nothing adjacent to the hotel itself for having a timeout. The main roads front and right and a huge golf club behind provide a protective envelope around the place. Not sure though what kind of entertainment they provide internally - been to a few banquets but never stayed there. I'd be very interested in what you find - Wuzhou is not a million miles from where I live.

The nearest place is Jusco. About a 10 minute taxi ride, East (ie out the hotel and turn right) along Shennan Road. You can't miss it. Ask the concierge to sort you out with a taxi to Jusco or Citic City Plaza - essentially same place - and there's enough info on the board already to do the rest.

I've stayed at this Hotel a couple of times and can testify that it's relatively nice. Wuzhou Guest House is located a bit away from the train station and pretty much next to the SZ Exibition Center where the Hi-Tech Fair is held every year. It features some plush beds, wood-panelled walls, nice carpets, and a nice bathroom. Decent Chinese restaurant on the ground floor, too, with a generous Cantonese buffet breakfast. It's also a designated hotel for many of the high-ranking Chinese officials when they come to Shenzhen for political functions, so that's why the quality is somewhat better than some other 5-star places.

In terms of mongering, you aren't more than 10-15 minutes by taxi from Jusco/Walmart/Sha Zui. I'm sure there is in-house service, but that option was unavailable to me both times I was there. Good luck.

Nothing special about this hotel, I guess its better than other state run hotels but many other hotels offer better service (Crowne, Pavilion, Holiday Inn...).

I did not think the restaurant was good, its 'hotel' quality Chinese
For Chinese food or Cantonese Dim Sim, my local friends would never come here. Breakfast was included in the room charge, the "american breakfast" was significantly below par when compared to Pavilion, Crowne or Holiday Inn).

I did not see any evidence of special services or girls hanging around.
I never got the 6 am wake up call from the in-house massage service you often get at Chinese hotels.

I had no problem bringing my girlfriend to and from my room at evening hours.

For mongering, Jusco is the closest. Other locations are a little farther but still within easy reach by cab.

If you need to be around SZx Exhibition area, the location is good. Otherwise, you can do better.

ShaTsui should be fairly close. You are already on XinZhou Lu, go south and turn right where it ends. The direct at the turn right side has also some BBS and many street walkers in the evening.

This is a follow-up to last week’s report on my Chengdu GFE. My second meeting with this lovely gal was off the fucking charts, literally.

I called her in the afternoon, and invited her to take a cab and meet me at the hotel that evening. She agreed without hesitation, and never mentioned the money aspect. I guess that she assumed that it would be the same deal as last time. She showed up in the hotel lobby right on time (actually 10 minutes early), and gave me a big hug as I approached. She looked absolutely stunning, and the other business guys nearby were staring at her like a starving man looking at a New York strip loin. Yummy.

I gave her a tour of the hotel, and she was jumping up and down like a little kid, asking when she could come during the daytime and swim in the pool. It was actually kind of touching. I cut the tour a little short, because I was getting tired of all of the stares from jealous guys.

Up at the room, she was more like a girlfriend that my freebies have ever been. She was all about, “I missed you. Can you stay longer in Shenzhen? When can I visit you again?” And then the pattern took a sudden right turn. She began to refer to herself as my Chinese wife. When I made a move to remove her blouse, she immediately stripped and started making this purring and giggling sound. This girl likes to fuck like few girls that I have ever met. She even smiled and giggled while gobbling little brother, and I can tell you that little brother truly appreciated her enthusiasm. Nice to keep some happiness in the family.

All through the encounter, she was grabbing onto me and trying not to let me slip out of her. The first round ended with her riding me, gasping and grinding as though her life depended on having me inside her. This was a dream come true.

A quick shower later, and she was asking for more. But this time, as I smiled and lifted her legs high, she asked if I could give her new babies. This is exactly how she said it, in Chinese. New babies. Then she smiled and said that she finds light-haired foreigners a huge turn on, and she wanted to have a baby with a foreigner, and that foreigner was me. Being out of my mind at that point, like a middle-aged man living a dream that was better than his best dreams, I briefly did something I swore I would never do. Not to completion mind you, but it was dumb, I know. This girl could make a crazy man out of the Pope (if the Pope wasn’t as old as Moses, that is).

Two hours, two explosions, and a huge smile later, I joined her for the cab ride back to Jusco. All the while she was begging me to extend my trip so that I could take her sight seeing for a whole day. The money for the day, in her words, was up to me. I wonder if she has ever been to Thailand.

Side Note:
I dropped her off in a daze and went for a post-fuck massage at my favorite joint in Futian. (OAH, the next time that we go there, I need to show you a noodle house that is outstanding. A huge bowl of seafood noodle soup for 10 RMB, and it tastes fantastic. Only a few doors down from the massage joint).

Conclusion:
This girl, as Mr. Mick would say, could make a dead man cum. It is now 24 hours later, and I still feel spent. God bless my Chengdu gal, and the bus that she rode in on.

i reckon jusco is in fact the longest distance from the place. i reckon both sha tsui and the futian walmart areas are about the same distance away. having said that, most of the shops in the walmart area were shut again when i was there with raz last week. i suggest to just hop in a cab and follow daynight's directions to sha tsui.

there is one small area with bbs within walking distance. go right out of the hotel down xinzhou lu. on the right side just before you hit the first traffic light, there is an area with a few bbs rep001tered about. i once had a mamasan freebie from one of the shops there that i posted about. the area is not jusco, but action can be found.

You are right that it is tough to do what we do in SZ if you do not speak Chinese. And it is tough to monger when your goddamn co-workers are looking over your shoulder. So here is some free advice that you may or may not appreciate.

1. Learn to speak Chinese. Even a little. Try. Hard language to learn, but it opens big wide doors that English words can not open.

2. Have your wing man explain to the girl that you can not be seen with girlfriends in public, because you will lose face. You really like her, but you must save face. Have the taxi stop 100 meters from your hotel. You get out and go to room. She follows 5 minutes later. Find a way to make a joke about this. "I am old, so I need more time to walk to hotel." hahaha. Then SHE will also save face.

3. Lots of wing men here, just need to plan ahead. Bribe them with free lunch. I like noodle soup with seafood. OAH likes KFC.
