I am fully aware that there a bunch of girls out there whose goal in life is to get some sucker weiguoren to send them money every month and support them. Some of them will go as far as to get pregnant on purpose.

Actually, I have no intention of taking her out of the KTV. She still works there. Like I said, I haven't given her any money lately (since the first couple of nights) and she still has to make a living. I did however, make it clear that I didn't want her going home with other guys when I'm not there. Whether she takes this to heart, I don't know. The last time, I was there for two weeks, how she plans to make up for the severe drop in income for not working for 2 weeks, I also don't know.

I did however, send someone she doesn't know to her place of work after I left. I bugged a friend of mine into going there with some other friends offering to pay for the evening. I had him go with as soon as the KTV opened so she would be available. I had him pick her and at the end of the evening, I had him try to bring her back to his place. She wouldn't go. Although the language thing makes things difficult, it doesn't make it impossible. As long as I have no shame and am willing to have the translator translate anything, there's nothing I really can't say to her. I never really concentrated much on learning Mandarin, but lately, I've actually been paying attention and asking what things mean and how to say them. Maybe with some practice, perhaps one day I'll be able to get my meaning across.

Hmm, perhaps I should have made a couple of things about myself clear. First of all, I'm Asian, Korean as a matter of fact. Another is that I'm already married and I have a couple of kids. My wife isn't quite fat and frumpy yet. She's actually quite attractive for her age. I'm 35 years old and my wife is 33.

As for divorcing my current wife and leaving my kids and marrying this girl, that's not within the realm of possibility with me. Being around her though, is a very pleasant thought.

I've been to most places in Asia and girls who work at KTV, or Room Salon in Korea, are very different than girls who work at those gogo joints in Thai or the Philippines. Girls who work the massage places or barbershops are probably more like the gogo girls in Thai or the Philippines. I do however, completely believe that any couple can be happy if both parties are willing to try hard enough.

The places behind Jusco that you mention here are kind of sleezy in my opinion. There are many areas like that in Lohu though and not nearly as visible. I find it is just too close to the street. On Baoan Liu South there are some alley streets with similar barber shops.

There is another area I go to in Futian where I know the mamasan. She brings me to her apartment and there can be 10 ladies there and she can call alot more if I want. My friends and I call it jackie chans. You can get there by bus..the small green bus number 428 heading towards Futian. I will get the name of the area..its Shang something..I know it by site so never have to ask.

I answer to your question regarding hotel rates for a 5-star hotel in SZ, I stayed at the Crown Plaza (a really nice 5-star hotel) in June. I can't say that is was any cheaper than my previous pre-SARS stay back in March.

The cost for a room with a king size bed was around 900 RMB per night. However, I found later that I could have payed only 650 RMB per night (breakfast included) if I would have asked my business contacts in SZ to book the room for me. So my only advise is to try and have someone local negotiate the rate for you. I think that it helps to speak the lingo and have some SZ-savvy.

First, the barber shops in Lowu...If you head towrds Futian on Shen nan Liu from Dongmen, you would make a right turn on Bao an Liu (where the Diwang building is). Go 2 long blocks and get out on (excuse my spelling..) the second block called Meichun Liu. There is a McDonalds right on the corner there. Cross Baoan Liu from McDonalds and make a right turn walking parallel to Baoan Liu. Go past the department store and the first alley make a left after the department store. You will find 5 barberhops in that alley. The first one has hotties from what I could see. They quote 30rmb for massage but have yet to take one there so I do not know the rate but I assume its the same..150rmb plus 50.

With regards to Bus 428. If you take it from Baoan Liu across the street from the McDonalds that I just mentioned, it will go towards Futian. The barber shops are not visible from where you get out. I caould not reach my friend as yet to get the name of the area. Will report back as soon as I have the info. The price in this area is 150rmb plus 50 for the gal. They are always trying to get me to take 2 in but I prefer one at a time if I have the energy for a second.

I like saunas myself and the going rate for a regular massage is 68rmb for 2-3 hours. If you want a special massage (HR), those places charge 198 for the VIP room that has its own shower and sauna (I thought it was alittle dirty),I the girl usually gets 100. Again its a 2-3 hour good massage.


I found some places that do not have sauna, can have a chinese massage or japanese, in a regular room or one with a bed...about 80rmb for 2 hour japanese maassge (with oil) and a fairly good HR. Girl gets 100rmb tip.

I'm a new member who just joined recently. In fact one of the reason that I decided to join is specificaly because I read your postings about your infactuation with your little China Doll. Just so that you know my background, I am a Chinese American who grew up in Southern California and speaks Mandarin fluently.

I was in Beijing last year. While I was there, I met a KTV girl who I eventually fell head over heals for. We started going out after she got off work but she refused to go back to my hotel with me. Eventually I got her to go back just to talk but as you can imagine, talking quickly esclated to f'ing.

Anyway, to make a long story short, while I never paid her for sex, I fell madly in love with her. She made me felt great and more importantly alive again!

When I left Beijing and returned to So Cal, I called her on a daily basis so that I can hear her voice (difference being that I understood what she said!). Meanwhile I was living a double life as I am married and a have decent job.

Can anyone tell me the going rate for the following hotels so I know what to expect:

Crowne Plaza Pavilion Panglin Hotel Shangri-la South China Harbour

I choose those hotels because I need internet access in my own room. If you know any cheap hotels with internet in your own room, please let me know.

Also, I was planning to do some hunting for some non-pros at a dance club. The idea of a challenge really turns me on and excites me. Getting guaranteed sex is great and satisfying, but sometimes not knowing whether you will really get to go all the way can be extremely fun as you anticipate what may possibily happen. Got any recommendations of neat places to pick up college girls or girls with some English?

Funny that a post from Tangent should pop up just as I was going to recommend some places he has mentioned in previous posts to pick up non-pros. I have tried the U Bar in Lou Hu and V Bar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. These two bars are full of non-pros, but Tangent may have much more experience to share for this approach. Some of the discos may also be good, but I do not know which ones are currently "in".... you may not find much English spoken in discos. You may be a bit dissappointed with your strike rate for ONS. It may take a phone call and a second date with the non-pros.

The hotels you mention should all be in the 700RMB+ range for a package deal. Soulman always stays at the Crowne Plaza so he may have a deal there. I may see him this weekend and will enqure.

For picking up non-pros, I would not really recommend Crowne Plaza's V Bar. I was there last week--albeit on a weekday--and it wasn't crowded enough for me. For picking up women I prefer a place that:

1- is crowded (for more options to choose from)
2- where most prople are standing up or sitting on tall stools (so that it is easier to casually move around from place to place within the bar and "bump" into a gal)
3- a place that has dancing (for much the same as number 2)

V Bar does not usually fit those criteria as too many people are sitting at their own tables outside that are fairly separated from one another.

The dance room in the Dongmen True Colors does fit those criteria, but for some reason it has been difficult to meet women there. There is a new dance space at the Nanyuan Lu True Colors which is pretty good. True Colors attracts quite the affluent mainlander yuppie crowd.

For a weekday, try Face Bar beside the Lushan Hotel, or Chicago Bar at the sports stadium. Face Bar has quite a few Hong Kongers because it is close to the LuoHu border and thegals dress more overtly sexy there. Chicago is often good picking grounds because a foreigner is seemingly exotic to some of the women there, but don't expect them to be able to speak English there.

U Bar or Michell's House on Bao'an might be best bet on weekends for women who speak English as both those bars have a high percentage of expats. not to crowded on weekdays.

On Sunday night chatted with a cute gal (in Chinese) at Chicago and set up a date with her. Many of the women take time--but some, fortunately, do not.

Its not as dangerous as you think as the 15 plus story apartment buildings are government owned. The tenants are more worried about getting caught doing something illegal. If they were they would lose their subsidized unit. The trouble is the negotiations on price and finding the right girl. Of course they want you to take one of their's. I'd wager that you went to Fenggan town in Dongguan. Yeah, about an hour (or two with trafffic) outside downtown SZ. There is a Golden Lake (Jin Lu, i think?) Hotel in Fenggan with good KTV (and probably sauna). I've been there once before and previously mentioned it way below in this forum. This hotel is a favorite of some Taiwanese businessmen I know also. I was generally impressed by the quality of girls there, but that was about 1.5 years ago, and I only went to the KTV, not the sauna. Let me relay a story that my Taiwanese friend told me the other day. 10 years ago when Taiwanese businessmen started showing up in China, the prices were so cheap that they were throwing hundreds of US dollars when the going price was 30RMB or there about. End result is they killed the market and set the benchmark for a long time. Local Chinese got pissed and there was a big problem and still is in some places.

Firstly, regular massage...no need to tip. If it is great..10-20rmb and that should be tops. For FS, most Chinese guys don't tip. If you feel inclined, drop her a 20 or 30 but not a 50. 120RMB is a bargain if you are living in USA. I pay for a great 3 hour massage 68rmb and cause I use her regularly will give her a 20. Again, if you dont want 3 hours tell them you want 2. But dont take the 3 then leave early. Then these girls will expect you to pay the same all the time for 2 hour massage and you will drive the prices up.

I forgot to add a piece of info in my earlier post.

From one of my previous postings, I gave some information about traveling to SZ from HKG w/ foreign passports without China visa.

You can get the entry visa to SZ at the LoWu border crossing. Starting August 1st, 2003. China gov' t has raised the visa application fee from HKD150 to HKD400 per person ( wow...over 100+% increase)

Next to the China visa office, there is a Shenzhen Travel Agency, and you can get a China visa to all the other cities for HKD380 per person. Beats me why they are cheaper and you can go to any cities in China.

You will need to provide two passport size pictures and the process takes 1 hour wait at their office.

Hope this helps those wanting to travel to SZ for shopping and hunting trips.

After reading about Tangxia and some other posts, I tried out 3 sauna places in and around Tangxia last week. Grand Palaise (opened ?2000) in Fenggan has a fairly discrete place on the 3rd floor but they charge 330 for the house and ther girls expect 500 FS. Golden lake in Tangxia is older (? 1991) but the rooms are OK & the charge is 170 for the house and the standard tip acceptable is 300. The new Yiking hotel in Tangxia is much newer (open 2003) and looks sort of life a California building. The house charges variously 275 to 500 according to what discount they give you. The girls expect 500 tip.

All the 3 girls I had will srub you down, massage, BBBJ, and FS. Fire and Ice is available. Honestly I could not really tell where the difference in the experience was to justify the wide price differentlal. The new YiKing hotel is undoubtedy grander and the shower has a separate sauna but the girls seem the same. The girls were around 20.

24 hours is plenty of time to do both 141 girls in HK and cross the border, as well. You can be in Shenzhen from the airport in an hour. They have direct buses that run all the time for around HK$100-130. If you are in town, take the KCR to Lowu and walk across the border. It's really easy.

Technically I would say doable. I would guess you are planning on a hotel here in SZ. It takes about 3 hours to get to from LoHu district to the HK airport, including border. I like to take the A43 (or 42 I forget) bus to/from Sheung Shui. Take the MRT 1 stop to LoWu. Check your visa status if you are coming over the border as your tourist visa is canceled once you go to HK. You can get a 5 day at the border (100 HKD) as long as you are not British. If you are British do NOT try to get one at the border or you will regret.

If you are not so familiar with the ways here and do not speak Chinese you might want to be careful and not go to any place that does not feel safe.

I think I'm gonna go directly from the airport to ShenZhen...I've checked the internet and it seems there's a bus company called Eternal East or something that runs buses from HK Airport to SZ.

I think I'll stick to areas in and around LoWu. I just want to try the barber shop and street action. The 141 thing sounds a little too clinical for me...I like the party scene where girls are out there trying to attract customers. Something like Nana Plaza in Bangkok or Pattaya.

You might want to take the airport train and then to Kowloon Canton Railway (KCR) to LoWu, more direct and efficient then bus if your destination is LoWu. And when you buy train ticket, you might try first class ($66Hk).

I would also recommend using the transportation that cc1024 listed. It's a little bit more adventurous than the EE bus but somewhat faster. It takes 20 minutes by Airport Express to Kowloon, cost 90HKD, and 5 minutes by taxi to Hung Hom KCR station, cost 15-20HKD and 30 minutes to LoWu by KCR, cost 33HKD. The first class ticket is double the standard fare and you're more likely to get a seat.

Customs will take you about 30 minutes to get through and once you're on the China side you'll emerge on the walkway to the Shenzhen Train Station, off the the left hand side. This walkway will take you to the Shangri-La hotel, a good landmark for around LoWu, which is past the train station.

If ever you're looking for a cheap hotel, the Dragon hotel above the train station is about 20-30USD a night. Of course you won't get any amenities but at least you'll have a place to crash.

It seems everyone has their own favorite mode of transport, but cc1024 you will need to spell out how to get from the air port train to the KCR? Taxi from central to Hong Hom in the evening near rush hour time? IMHO it will eat up any time savings and is a bother as the walking distances are not so short at central train station, could get off at Kowloon station, but still need to get across Kowloon near 5 PM. The OAH method is OK and works out about the same as the public bus maybe a bit quicker, a bit more pricey but a tad bit easier, but not as flexible on destination and leaving times. Frankly I have not tried the direct bus as the A43 bus was pretty OK.

Sorry to not be clear on visa, but what I meant was if you had been in China with a visa and went to HK, the china visa is gone. If you have a visa for china and have not been in China on it, you will be fine. Some people think that since HK is back in the PRC you can have 1 visa for both and travel freely between the two. This is not the case.

Sorry to disagree with cc1024, but the buses from the airport will take you to any hotel in Shenzhen included in the price. Suggest you just tell them the Shangri-La which is right next to the train station in LuoHu. The train is a pain in the ass in my POV. Airport Express to Kowloon Station, change to MTR to Kowloon Tong and change again to the KCR.

It is worth a shot to wander a bit away from LuoHu and test some of the waters posted on this thread.

The airport-express to taxi to HungHom to KCR route is a royal PITA...not recommended for you if it is your first time to go to SZ and especially not if you have a lot of luggage to move with you.

OAH has mentioned the cheapest way (bus)....so now, the fastest way (and most costly) to get to the border is to take a taxi from HKIA to Sheung Shui station on the KCR line, then take the KCR one stop to LuWu. Taxi ride will run you HKD400-450 if I recall correctly, plus some chump change for the one-stop KCR ride.

That said, OAH's route via bus may be faster if your timing matches up with bus departure and/or in the event of serious rush going into Shenzhen at LoWu. But I believe the throughput capacity at LoWu has greatly improved in the past 6-8 months (at least it had last time I was there).

The main hold up used to be the mainland tour groups with passports that are going through. Now they have introduced foreigners lanes which are at least tolerable. Sometimes you luck out and there is no line. Sometimes, at worst now, I have experienced this year is 25 minutes at Lo Wu.

I think the bus is the best way to get to Shenzhen. They cater for the many many Taiwan and overseas Chinese tours and go from HKIA.

Buses also go to Huangang which is then about 50 RMB cab ride to Shenzhen.

Whatever you do, do not accept any of the touts for transport. You run a fair risk of being mugged or subjected to a terrifying ride.

Well, finally, I get some time to write something,
although not too much.

These past weeks have been a real trying time for me since I've been dealing with opening a new office in GZ from scratch (and the related headaches of staff hiring/training, office setup, ect.), the STD problem, troubles with the wife, a stomach flu, and probably mental exhaustion to top it all off...

But, in terms of useful stuff to you all, let me outline how the STD visit went, since I just realized that my GZ post didn't show up for some reason:

I first went to the clinic on the 6th (?) floor of the Garden Hotel. It's the International Medical Clinic or something and the prices are the same or higher than top medical clinics I've been to in the US. My 10-minute consultation and cursory visual exam ran me $80 USD! And I was scheduled to come in for another consultation and examination the next day, which I found out would have been another $45 + $120 = $165 USD! And without the purchase price of medicine!

I decided all this was becoming too rich for my blood, for something which I was almost definate was a minor yeast/fungus infection. I went to Zhongshan Hosptial No. 1 instead and got a 20-minute exam, interview, and prescription medicine all for 245 RMB. Also opted for the HIV/AIDS test for $260 RMB. Result was negative, but expected.

Feel much better now, this second day of taking the "Ornidaxole" and "Levofloxacin" prescription medicine given to me. If anyone needs to go through the same process, I'd be glad to show them if you're in GZ. Would save you a lot of time and confusion if it was your first time.

In other monger news, the SWs are just as high quality as ever on Taojin Road. Showed Blanknamecrusier around last week and two lurkers this week, but couldn't partake myself. Damn, I can't wait till a few days from now when I am more confident that things have cleared up....

Minor details...As of August 1st, they jack up the price to 400 HKD for the SZ visa for visitors from most of the countries.

Just back from Taipei yesterday and took the bus from HK airport. HK$150 to any destination in SZ. The bad part was the border crossing. Arrived at border 5:00pm and took over 1.5 hours to cross both checkpionts.

Depending on day of week, time of day and budget considerations, Lucky888's suggestion of taxi, train, Lowu crossing may be much faster with the new foreigner only lanes at the border. Last time I did it this way, the taxi was only HK$365, but it was at night with no traffic at all.

There are SW all over SZ. In LuoHu, you can find them across the street from the Panglin, and more, one block over on Shennan Dong Lu. Prices are from RMB200 for ST.

Thanks MpfsLover for the correction on the cost for the 5 day border. 400 is quite stiff for just 5 days. In HK you can get a 5 month multi entry for about 600. Terrible.

I still stand by my method of take the bus A43 to Sheng Shui and 1 stop on the KCR to LoWu. Dodge the taxi touts and go to the normal taxi stand near by (50 meters or so on the right when you exit) and tell the taxi driver where you want to go. The bus is set up to take luggage and the KCR is the first stop, so no worry on forgetting where to get off. LoWu is a bit quicker than Lok Mao Chua checkpoint, though on Friday or Saturday they can all be zoos. The bus is 28 HKD, the KCR is 16 I think, and the taxi depends on where you want to go, pretty reasonable. I can understand the big bus where you get the ticket at the lower level of the airport if it will take you directly to the hotel you want to go to and you have a lot of bags.

A 3 month multible visa will cost you HK$400 at Japan Travel Service in TST East. I used that many many times - but got a 3 year visa now.

Can anyone confirm the HK$400 for the 5-days SZ visa? I find that quite unusual. Before the single entry full China visa was HK$ 380 at the border.

Answers to a few questions. I just got a 1 year visa in Hong Kong for 1800HKD. Hong Kong is the best place to get a China visa. No hassle. Just pay the money, hand over your passport and in a few hours you have the visa. Go to any travel agent in Hong Kong.

I live in Chang'An. Lots and lots of action. Dong Guan prices are cheaper than SZ.

For a first night staying at the new Parkview Hotel is very nice. Has a great KO and new Sauna. Nice location. Prices here will be higher tha other DG spots however (about the same as SZ)

There is a small bar run by an Aussie near the Parkview called Hollywood Baby. If you don't speak Chinese it's a good spot to go. Most of the help speaks a little English.

Chang'An hotel has a nice suana but no KO

Sha Tou hotel on 107 outside of town is a very good choice. Reasonable KO and sauna. Cheaper than the Parkview. It's fairly new and quite nice.

Hayatt Hotel. Inconvienent location but nice KO and Suana. I heard they have a great Italian restaurant but haven't had the time to check it out.

Almost all the hotels in Chang An have a suana and KO. Also have the usual assorment of barber shops, etc. Dong Guan is great.

Was in Shenzhen last week. Stayed at the Shangrila Hotel. As advisd by some members of the forum, went out for a walk at 9 pm and was accosted by 2 men who showd me some girls. Not even one was good but I wanted sex so agreed to pat RMB 800 for a full night.

I had such an experience recently behind Jusco. I was looking around and while walking by a girl did the mouth croch pointing thing, it was pretty humourous. I failed to check if this is the SZ only, or the full China visa. Could be the later one... I also noticed today the first time, that there is no passport check anymore upon re-entry into the SZ city area.

OK, it's still for the 5 day SZ visa and this regulation started already on 1/8. Visa is HK$150 for most countries. But 400 or more for about 10 others. I remember Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazhakstan, Ethopia and USA.

So, the 5 day visa still exists.

More on that later.

It's also noteworthy to mention that some travellers now get complete visa free entry to China. That's Singapore and Brunei and probably Japan soon.

Whassup guys! The last time I posted I mentioned that I had fallen for a KTV girl. Situation's still the same. I can't get my mind off of her.

The first thing I found out is that these girls make serious money. One of the hotties there typically makes around 20,000 per month. That's what middle class Americans make! I have to admit, when I heard her say that, I was shocked. Apparently, they get a lot of customers who tip like crazy. I'm talking 500-1000 for just sitting there. The alpha females (the super hot ones) all have some kind of kickback deal with the mamasans where she would only have them line up for the clients who are known to tip the most. I asked the cutie why she came into our room even though we were comparable cheapskates tipping only 300 or so. She answered that the mamasan liked one of my friends. She also said that not many people come to their place as often as we do and we were considered special clients. There was one stretch when we went 5 nights straight. I also asked what kind of kickback they give to the mamasan when we take one of them back with us. The girl answered that the normal kickback was 200. Then I asked her the big question, how often do they get taken out? She answered that it varies a lot from month to month, but usually, no more than 5 times. That's one of the things that made our group even more unusual. We would always take girls out, even when we were drunk off our ass. One of my friends has gone through close to twenty girls from this place, and he's taken some of them back multiple times. This place also has a pretty decent selection of talent. For overnight, it's 1500. This place has very nice LARGE rooms. The overall ambiance is not as nice as Las Vegas, but's it's still pretty good. Lately, I've stopped going to the other places in Shenzhen and pretty much been hanging out at these two places.

I had a look behind (on it's east side) and there are a few narrow streets with about 40 or so 'barber' shops. Didn't do anything, it was kinda late yesterday and I don't wanted to miss the midnight border closing.

Next time maybe... but I got some doubts about the general hygenic standard of the places...

And on my way back from TangXia I saw some places in Lung Hua, that's only 30 Minutes from the Lowu border and they looked quite nice, will check them out next time....

I have two questions. First, I thought the 5 day SZ visa is for SZ only. What option do I have if I will arrive at Hong Kong around 5 pm and decide to go north right away? Can I obtain any instant visa for travelling behond SZ? I am also interested in the Walmart vicinity in Futian. How should I tell the taxi driver the destination? I assume taxi drivers do not speak English.

Maybe I need to put in my two cents. I went to Shanghai and SZ on separate occasions within past 12 months. Shanghai was super expensive. A girl in the sauna at Holiday Inn Downtown cost me rmb1000 to 1200 short time. I did not have other choices since my trip was so close to the Chinese New Year. SZ is a lot cheaper. A girl in a 4 star hotel cost rmb800 but in barbershop price will go down to rmb200. To be honest, higher price does not mean better quality, at least in China.

I have posted previously exactly how to get to WalMart vicinity. Just tell the taxi driver Fuxing Lu WalMart. Suggest you get your hotel to write it down for you before you set out.

It seems this area has returned to my favor. I was visiting the Jusco area for awhile due to LE presence and lack of talent in Futian, however, I have seen no LE and more talent here the last couple of weeks. A few new shops have opened too.

I was in the area last night for a quickie on my way to meet some people for dinner. Picked one Guangdong girl. First time I saw her in that shop. She told me it was her first day. I believe that after 5PM, the SZ visa is your only option. The China Visa agent, if I recall correctly, closes around 4PM or so. If you can manage to make it to Lowu in the early afternoon, you can get a standard China visa.

Sorry for being vague, but the area does not really have street names or addresses posted. the first part is easy, go to CITIC (zhong zin guang chang) and go to the Kosmos Coffee place, it faces the street parallel Shennan Lu. Go to the bus stop and cross the street and go into any alley way walking away from Jusco. Turn left (south) on the first cross alley and it should be on the left hand side. There are only a few places on the first street back. It is a two story shop.

Not sure if this is the right place to post about Dongguan but I see several posts in the Shenzhen section, so I will post here, pardon me if that is not correct.

Stayed at the Casa Hotel in Dongguan City a few days ago. My local business partners booked me there. The hotel is OK, nothing special really but quite cheap. However, the reason they booked me there is because they were planning to take me to the KTV that is, I think, the second building to the right when you face the hotel. You walk up some stairs to the upper level where you are taken to one of what appeared to be a great many rooms. That was my first time in a KTV and I did not pay, so not sure about the cost. It was very luxurious.

Once in the room, they brought in 2 batches of 10 girls each. I would say most of them were 8-10, some abslolutely gorgeous, all very young. My local contacts picked one of the few girls who could speak a some words of english for me. She would not have been my first choice but I felt I should accept. Her name was Amy.

She came back to my room at the end of the evening, and oh boy, what a treat. Sweetest girl ever, will do anything, and I mean anything. She was there for 9 hours. Actually I had to ask her to leave, I think she would have stayed more if need be. There are not enough words to describe this girl's kindness. She was always hungry and wet, ready to go at the slightest hint that I wanted to and just the most obedient and sweet person. She gave me her phone number, but since I don't speak Chinese, chances are I will never see her again. That is too bad, great GFE, great place, even the Mama San was quite good looking and young and smiling.

Like I said, I don't know the cost of the evening, I asked Amy how much she would get from the club and she said "48" which I took to mean 480RMB, but I am not sure, her english was not good enough to discuss this further and she was shy about this matter anyway, and I had better things to do with her.

That is my experience in Dongguan. Highly recommended.

Well, I found the area. Seibu (no closed for renovation) on Dong Men Nan Lu. Quite a large number of barber shops right behind it (East of Seibu to be exact). It's quite a nightlife/red light area. Just those few blocks have maybe 30 or so barber shops. I may try one next time.... (but I doubt they can meet my hygenic standard, but anyway, saw some nice nice shps in Lung Gong and may stop by there next time on my way to TangXia).

I paid for a Visa thorugh a company here in the US that is good for 2 entries by Feb 2004 and it is an F visa (whatever that is). Am I to assume I have paid all the fees to get this visa and I will pass through Customs this Saturday night the 30th without paying extra?

You'll be fine and you won't have to pay anything else. "F" Visa is a standard tourist visa. The SZ visa these guys are talking about is another type of visa that lets you into SZ only. Technically, you're not allowed to leave SZ. I've done it several times though. A couple of times in the past, I've arrived late and didn't have a visa and the visa place in Lowu was closed, so I got the SZ visa. That didn't stop me from going to other places though. The deal is, leaving SZ is no problem, it's getting back in. At the SZ border, there are border guards who are supposed to check documents. They don't check that hard though. Once I told them I forgot it at the hotel and they just let me through. Another time I showed them my drivers' license and they waved me through. A few times, they didn't even bother to check.

Yeah, I know. KTV reports aren't exactly the pooning equivalent of rocket science, but here's my two bits for the record.

Sunday night I finally had the privelage of meeting up with Soulman. He called me up at the Crown Plaza and offered a night of KTV, compliments of one of his fine business contacts. Duuhhh...I'm in!

The club was a new place in a district that starts with L (not Luohu), and yes, I will report back when I find the name of the place. Quite a posh place. Met Soulman's associates at the table, which was already loaded with fruit and wine.

Then the girls were brought out by the LaoBan-yan, 3 or 4 at a time. The girl was picked for me, because as OAH will tell you, I take too long making up my f*ckin mind. Choices, choices, choices. My date for the evening was 23, very pretty, and wore sneakers under her evening gown. The mamasan gave her shit for that, but I liked her attitude. Takes the female equivalent of balls to screw authority. The girl just wanted to be comfortable.

There was a live band, and they were AWESOME. Great singing and beautiful dancers. I spoke my hack Putonghua to my girl, and played with some of her body parts. She had the softest skin, and was really cute and responsive. Lots of fun.

Ended up holding her for the last hour of the night, stroking her beautiful face and soft skin. Call me romantic fool if you like, but then I'll have to tell you to f*ck off.

Just got done reading your previous post. I sympathize with you man...

I asked my girl how much money she used to make when she worked at the KTV. The problem with that was she only worked there about 8 days before I met her. She continued to work there for about a month afterwards. She says she made about 12,000RMB in that time. Whether it's the truth, I don't know, but I"m inclined to believe her. The thing is, she didn't really get a chance to get used to that kind of money. Previously, she had a Chinese boyfriend who supported her for about two years. He used to give her around 5000RMB a month. She left him when she found out he had two other girlfriends besides her in Shenzhen. That guy must have been one seriously busy bastard.

Anyway, she's working in a photo studio right now. She makes 1900RMB per month. I've actually had someone go and check to make sure. I have someone who follows her 2-3 days and nights a week. Regardless, the point is, she doesn't need 12,000 a month to get by and she didn't get used to the kind of lifestyle 12,000 a month buys.

Aside from all that, I would like to give her something. I make sufficient income to be able to give her something every month. I haven't discussed anything of the sort with her. Even if I don't directly GIVE her something, I can still arrange a job that will pay significantly better than her current one. The thing is, she enjoys her current job (I think she might even be willing to work there for free) and I don't want to take that away from her. There is something to be said from enjoying your livelihood.

Moody, after reading your response, I feel like I'm talking myself of 8 months ago. I know and understand EXACTLY what you're going through. The emotion and dynamics of the relationship are all too familiar. While it is impossible for our experiences to be identical, the similarities are remarkable and understandable.

From the way it sounds, it appears that you have one thing that I lacked in my relationship - the ability to frequently return to china. I unfortunately don't have a reason to go back anytime soon since the deal that I was working on fell apart after my 2nd trip there in July 02. I was prepared to fabricate a reason to go back just to be with her but work and my family obligations restricted me from doing so. Since I couldn't go back as often as I had hoped and as I had promised her, the relationship and emotions eventually weakened to the point where harsh reality of life prevailed.... the daily phone calls shortened in length from about an hour to 15 minutes... then the calls took place every other day instead of every day.... next it was about twic a week... follow by only once a week... then month....Its now been about 3 months since we last spoken.

As for the discussion about money, my girl was really reluctant to discuss that with me as well. She later on confessed that she was afraid that doing so would scare me away. Instead (whether it was the result of her tactic or not) I initiated the discussion. She also later confessed that a friend of her's was coaching her on what to do and say in our relationship. Evidently her friend was very familiar with the love relationships that often resulted from out of town businessmen and KTV girls. In hindsite, I think there must be some kind of instruction manual that they study from since they all seem to push the right emotional buttons that result in us falling deeper in love with them!

Bottom line, the current status of my career and financial stability just weren't enough to support her. Instead of the traditional break up, which would have been much more difficult since she probably would have continued to call me and figure out a way to talk me into remaining in the relationship, I thought of an idea that prevented that. Instead, I told her that I lost my job and that I wasn't capable of doing things that I planned to do (pay for her tuition and provide monthly stipend of US$500). Once I revealed that, I can tell that it was easier for her to let go of me. She didn't initiate as many calls as she did in the past. While I'm saddened by how things ended, I don't think it could have ended differently.....Life goes on and she will forever remain in my memory.

Double bottom line, there are too many girls in China for us to worry about. We can't take care of all of them. They need to figure out how to take care of themselves. Life is unfair and had most of these girls been born in a different environment or country, they'd probably be pop stars, models or other more glamorous professions.

Even if I did, I'd see her once every 6 weeks or so and she can easily cheat on me. So as much as I'm in love with her, I'll fall out of love. It's tough man... Being in loveless and boring marriage for 10 years to fall in love with a beautiful girl. I don't want any of you guys to misunderstand me. I'm not some newbie to the scene. I've been to KTV, god know how many times. It must be in the several hundred range though. I started going to KTV when I was 24 and I'm now 35. I've slept with hundreds of them in Korea and China and a few in the US who I had to convince. I know about ALL the scams. Even some of the really brutal ones involving kidnapping.

I've had girls who were prettier than this one. Even at the same karaoke. I've had fresh meat. Girls whose first day on the job was with me. I've had girls from my home town in Korea. If the girl makes you happy and motivates you to make more money so that you can enjoy it with and on her, then is the girl still bad (assuming that she's not asking you do divorce your family)? OK, I had a low cost test. On my way back from Fung Gong (45 Minutes out of SZ) I stopped near Ping Fu for a walk. There where plenty of 'barber' shops.

Had a look in one semi run down one (wanted to check the upmarket one next door but never made it there). Anyway, they ask for RMB 180. As usual, I had a look at the room, which was a appratment next door. In fact, quite OK, better then expected.

So went back to the shop to chose one from the about 20 gals. 1st and 2nd choice didn't wanted to go. 3rd choice (still very nice) went up with me.

I guess I didn't elaborate anything about the girl besides the fact that I met her at KTV. First of all, she has no desire to come to the US, which is a good thing. She also doesn't want any kids yet since she feels she still too young to be a mother (she's 22). She would prefer that I live in China permanently. Another thing is that she didn't work for very long at the KTV when I met her. About one week. Before that, she had a boyfriend for 3 years with whom she broke up with about 5 months before I met her. During those 5 months, she went to Haerbin (her home town) for 4 months and just laid around the house moping. She came back to Shenzhen about a month before I met her and settled in.

You're probably wondering how true this is. Well, I had a couple of people check up on all this and it turns out to be true. Call me paranoid, but I had to make sure. I was falling hard for her by then I needed to assuage my curiousity. Even if she had lied to me, I wouldn't have cared, but I was curious.

After I initially met her, she worked at the KTV for about another month. BTW, when I initially met her, I didn't have sex with her. Not until our 5th night together. Please, no comments on how stupid that was. After I returned to the US, I called her up and told her to be a "good girl." I felt that by then, she was also developing some feelings for me. I was in the US for about a month. I had some friends frequent the karaoke several times during that time. I had them pick her from the line up. Just so much, there are not too many Guandong gals in the low end business. Far more then 90% are 'outsiders'. If you want to check the difference, look for hotels that cater for Koreans. I can't name any on the spot in SZ of DG area. But I stayed in a korean hotel in Quindao (Shandong, very high percentage of sino koreans there). And right, no big difference.

I had a helluva night in Shenzhen a couple of weeks ago when I spent two nights there, using it as a transit point for my day trip to Xian. Though I live in Hong Kong, I hardly go to Shenzhen at all so I’m not really familiar with the latest development there. I did check this forum before I went but there wasn’t a lot of information that fit my preferences.

I checked into the Shangri La at about nine at night and went out right away for a quick dinner in the dongmen area. Along the way many men and women touted their girls to me but that was not I had in mind. After dinner I decided to explore the neighbourhood a bit. Unfortunately the several nightclubs that I visited didn’t offer what I wanted – a girl who would keep me company for a little while at the lounge and then leave with me, as I didn’t want to spend any money in a VIP room and didn’t want to spend time singing, something I’m very bad at. One of the nightclubs, the Age of Flower (hua yan nian hua) behind the Shangri-La, had only a few customers in the lounge and two DJ playing very loud music. The Jade Palace (or something like that) on the fifth floor of the New Century was crowded with Chinese dancing girls doing the Brazilian thing on stage. No one to keep me company at either place.

So I decided to try my luck at the sauna places. But those that I tried, including the one at the basement of New Century Hotel and an upscale one in a new office building next to the Shangri-La, all said they only offer straight massage. I don’t know what’s going on. May be I shouldn’t have asked, and would have got what I wanted anyway.

Distressed, I jumped into a cab and asked the driver to take me to a nightclub where I could take the girls away. After some pondering he said he believed that could be done at the China Regency Hotel (Dihao in pingying). After about 10 minutes drive we got there, and the driver asked a young man dressed in very plain white shirt and dark trousers whether the nightclub at the hotel had girls for takeaway. The young men said he would show me the way. I thought it was a bit strange that a doorman ((though he wasn’t in uniform) would do that but at that time unfortunately my little head was doing most of the thinking (which was not much) and so I followed this guy up to the top floor of the three-star hotel. The young men reminded me that I was in a three-star hotel, I laughed and told him that I stayed at a five-star hotel. Then the manager charged me for all the food and drinks that I didn’t ordered in the first place, showing me the menu for the first time. I pointed out that I didn’t touch anything, except for a sip of that strange brandy-like thing, which he said totaled six ounces per glass at 60 yuan each, and that I had to pay for the girl’s drink as well, on top of the 300 yuan tip for hed. To cut a long story short, we haggled a bit over the bit, and settled at 1,000 yuan.

I was completed demoralized and just got the hell out of the place as fast as I could. By then it was almost 1:00 in the morning. As the cab approached the Shangri-La I saw the pimps still walking the street, and decided to have one last go.
