Mamasan in the Shangrila Area

I have recently looked into the girls in the Shangrila area. I was able to negotiate a rate of 90RMB for FS (boy I can be cheap when I am not interested).

I have found many apartments with 5 or 6 girls inside, however most did not show much interest so I have left the places. They will often try to find you other girls and try to encourage you to stay however you can always leave.

I don't find it risky but be cautious.

I have invested a few times with mixed results - one was great and one was very disappointing. I think it may be difficult to find the same girl again if you are satisfied.

At one place there was only one girl and (although I should have refused) I has less than satisfactory FS (100RMB). On the way out they tried to get me to drink some water and stay a while. I felt it was a little dangerous to take the water - it may have been poisoned. There are many cases of people being robbed after taken some unknown substance. Just be aware and know what you are doing.

There are plenty of BBS nearby to the Railway station. Behind the railway station I have seen several BBS between the Best Western hotel and the area towards Hong Kong. I think it is a rich area worth further study. I think FS should be readily available.

On a recent pass through the area (the shopping area at the end of the pedestrian overpass in the border area), I was offered massage for 25RMB/hr (cheap) including HJ for 100RMB but I was not interested preferring to find FS for 100RMB (which was not on the menu at that particular joint). In fact I think business was poor as the girl did not want to let me leave (after refusing to offer me full service). The girl herself was fine and probably would have been very interesting. I liked her energy.

I hope I can meet some local fellow mongers in the future.

A lot of people have been robbed visiting those apartment girls in Shenzhen, especially in the train station area. A common scheme is for fake police to show up for a shakedown. I would be very careful.

A HK friend told me that "his friends" can get FS from street walkers for 200-250, if you are interested in comparing negotiation skills.

Justification in Jusco Area

Today I surveyed the Jusco area around from around 2pm for about 2 hours.

This is area is greatly expanding eastwards (a recent post noted) and it very easy to identify. I was last there a few months ago and the change is very dramatic with plenty of new BBS type joints on nearly every side street, most of which did not exist 2 or 3 months ago. Most of the service places have red lights on during the day so you cannot make any mistake.

Pricing survey:

1st location: average girl (best in place) she wanted 400, I offered 100, she countered 200, I offered 100, she says 150, I say I must go - no time, she does not want me to leave... I say 100, finally she says OK lets go upstairs (by this time I am pissed off) so I said sure and I gather my bag and I walk to the main room and I leave.

2nd location: very attractive young girl - offers 25RMB for massage. We go upstairs for massage and basically she just cuddles with me and does not offer HJ, BJ or FS even as I ask. I wait for my hour to expire and I leave her with 25RMB. She is upset (so am I), that is just too bad.

3rd Location: a new stop in the eastern section, short woman, a little stocky with large breasts. We negotiate a rate of 100RMB for FS and 20RMB for owner. She gives me fantastic and enthusiastic FS, real GFE. Absolutely no disappointment. Now if I can only find this same place again.

A few days ago (during daytime hours) I visited the Candyland street near Walmart Futian and I can report that the former BBSs are now hardware, plumbing and electrical stores. Very sad indeed. It is still possible to find SPs in the area behind Walmart with probably more than a dozen to find but in my opinion the Jusco Area is presently a better location for hunting. I think at night there are still SWs and guys with business cards in the area but most BBSs are gone.

Just thought I'd give a note of caution, a funny thing happened tonight cruising through one of my favorite SW areas in SZ. The end of a legend:

I walked down the infamous Candyland strip today with a tear in my eye. As has been recently reported by several other mongers, it looks like it is shut down for eternity.

One of my favorite Lao Ban Yangs has opened on the next block down and told me that LE will not allow "this kind of business" to operate on the strip any longer.

I have also seen several of the girls and one other Lao Ban Yang from Candyland in the Jusco area.

The offer of cheap service is standard protocol for a fake police scam to come as has been mentioned on this thread. It is just like anything else, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I suggest that you all be very careful when following the hustlers around the train station. There are some genuine agents just trying to make a living on commissions from the girls in the apartments, however, there are the other type out to scam you. Difficult to tell them apart.

Check out the Hong Kong board about a month ago where I gave a detailed response to the same technical question.

I have also mused at length on the tricks to getting girls to pose (you have to do your homework better, newbie).

There is no trick. Either she will or she won't, and most Chinese hookers won't. The logic of this baffles me. They'll shag strangers for 100 RMB, but won't pose for a photo, it doesn't make sense.

Offering money doesn't work, or hasn't so far for me. They don't realize that these photos are being seen by all their best potential customers, free advertisement for them.

I'm left with the undeniable conclusion that they are just modest. That's just how they act when you take out the camera. Another strange contradiction in the Chinese hooker psyche.

Hong Kong may be more service oriented, but I don't have enough experience to say for sure, I'm one for one down there.

Hi Cronin, you can take nude photos of the girls. One of the guys that I go to China with does it all the time. He get nudes of almost all the girls. The trick is to make them feel comfortable. Wait until they get to know you a little bit. Also we found that it get easier if you see them a second time and then ask for a photo rather than ask the first time when they don't know you at all and have no reason to let you take photos however if you see them a second time, then they think there will be a third and so on therefore they are much more likely to let you take the photos. Start with a regular clothed photo then move onto the nudes.

Jusco Area Report:

I hit the area around 4pm yesterday, a bit early for a Monday, but most of the shops were open. Wandered east in search of the expansion previously reported on this thread, but did not see many new shops. IMHO, the quality is much lower on the east side. I kept walking east to the "rack shop" area. The "rack shop" has gone way downhill. As far as I can tell, Mamasan divorced Papasan (probably caught with hands in cookie jar so to speak) and left with the best girls. I wish I had gotten the chance to try the mamasan before she left. If anybody sees her turn up somewhere new, please let me know.

Took a trip by the venerable Jusco area. Always good to go to a trusted area. I checked a shop that had a couple of interesting girls a month ago on the east side of TongXin Lu, but neither was there. Just goes to show the turnover rate is quite high. Pity.

Went back to the west side to a shop near the 7-11. To get there just go to the 7-11 on TongXin Lu, go into the alley and it is the first shop on the left. Shop on the right is not bad either. As I was walking around the area near the Jing Peng hotel. I noticed girls walking out of the alleys that locals usually go though. This alley didn't look all scary, so I decided to check it out. i read in the china daily yesterday about the state execution sentence of a government official for bribery. and then there was the excution of the zhuhai orgy organizer (if i remember right). maybe this wave of crackdowns isn't just a blip on the radar screen. maybe this really is the start of a major policy shift to "clean up china". no bribery, no prostitution... what's this country coming to.

BEIJING, (AFP) - HIV/AIDS is spreading through southern China with some 110 of Guangdong province's 122 counties and cities now reporting HIV-positive carriers.

This means the disease has moved from the Pearl River Delta area to neighboring cities in the east and west, the Xinhua news agency said, quoting the provincial health department.

The finding's were disclosed at an AIDS prevention and control meeting in the provincial capital Guangzhou on Wednesday and showed that Guangdong, which borders Hong Kong, now has an estimated 30,000 HIV-positive cases.

Significantly, Xinhua said the number of female patients has increased by 11.8 percent over the past year. In Guangdong, the disease is widely found among prostitutes because the use of condoms is very low.

Some 91.5 percent of HIV carriers contracted the virus through intravenous drug abuse and 7.9 percent through sexual activity.

A large number of the official estimate of 840,000 HIV/AIDS patients in China contracted the disease through unsanitary blood donation stations or tainted blood, with the worst affected areas in central Anhui and Henan provinces.

Yao Zhibin, director of Guangdong's health department, said the province would work to promote condom use while establishing care and monitoring centers in an effort to prevent the disease ballooning out of control.

International organizations, including the United Nations (news - web sites), believe China's official figure for the number of infections is far too low, suggesting it could rise to 20 million by 2010.

In recent months, China has appeared more determined to address HIV/AIDS, with Premier Wen Jiabao visiting AIDS patients in a Beijing hospital on World AIDS Day.

I am no expert in any way when it comes to mongering. Just wanted to share my Zhen Shen experience in case it could help others. I stayed there early dec.2003 for business for a couple of days

I stayed at Jun-Hu Hotel Phone: +86 755 8232 6963 on RenMin South Rd. No.1068.
(It is a 5-10 min. walk north of the train station)

Very girl friendly place but staff speaks no English. Brought down the price of the room to 220 Rmb. Rooms are nice with 2 large beds in them, TV AC, nice bathroom.

Paid with my visa card with no extra charge added.

They have all these guys in a red uniforms down in the lobby that will all provide you with a girl if needed. They will quote you 300-500 rmb. You can get a girl for 300 rmb

I only used their services once, mostly cuz I was curious. I paid 300 rmb and sure enough, the girl came up to my room later. If you don't like her you can send her away. You pay first to the guy. He will share the money with the girl later. It is up to you to tip the girl or not.

The girl that was with me was nice, tender and gave a GFE kind of experience but wasn¡'t really my type. Again, I mostly did it for 'research purposes¡¦ so to speak.

I met up with Illeagle and OAH yesterday to have a little "mongering farewell party" to Illeagle who's going to Thailand for more mongering. We'll have to have a "mongering welcome home party" when he returns.

Those two were at a MP when I arrived. Eventually hooked up with them at WalMart. What a Svengali of Shenzhen is the man we call OAH. Illeagle and I were constantly amazed at the wealth of knowledge, he seemed to know every girl and mama in every shop.

OAH and I met up with Illeagle after we finished at the Sichuan shop and he had a rather short and not all together satisfying experience to report. Then OAH took Illeagle and I off to a new unreported area on the northwest side (I think) I'll let them tell you where it is because I'm lost in SZ. Although there aren't the abundance of shops you find in Futian or Jusco, the girls were all very friendly. We had a really terrific reception at the first shop OAH took us to. All the girls came over to the door to meet and greet us and we just felt like heros. Quality was in the 6-8 range.

The layout of the area is similar to Jusco with main alleys and connecting alleys. We had fun checking the place out. I guess there were about 6 shops back through there, not all full service. My flight from Cebu to HK was delayed, so I was running late when the direct bus from HK airport pulled into the Huang Gang border crossing. After the border, I had to wait for the bus company to arrange a mini bus to take us to the Lo Hu area. The direct bus is quite convenient and only took about 90 minutes or so.

I was supposed to meet up with DragonSlayer, whom I had met in Cebu. But when I pulled into town, it was already late. I couldn't find his hotel and I had lost the number he gave me. SZ is a much bigger town than I expected. Also, I was freezing (I only had t shirts) and didn't want to freeze myself to death trying to look for DragonSlayer's hotel.

Checked into the 999 Hotel, which to my dismay is quite far from the Lo Hu border crossing. Tried to ask everyone at the hotel where "Zhong Xin Guang Chang" (CITIC) is and they didn;t know. And I didn;t know the name of JUSCO in Chinese (I think it's a Japanese dept store?)

Decided to hop in a cab and asked the driver to take me to "Fa Lang" Bad mistake, the stupid driver took me on the highway and drove for about 10 minutes before he dropped me off beside a factory and apt building with a row of bbs. I picked the biggest and asked for a message. I started to take all my clothes off and the girl asked what are you doing? I thought, oh, shit, this is a real message place. Anyway, wasted my time there, went back to my hotel to put on another shirt (it was cold), and asked the bellboy on my floor again where CITIC was. This time, he was able to point it out on the map for me. So, I hopped in a cab again, and said "Zhong Sin Guang Chang". After OAH left us to take care of some business, Illeagle and I continued on to Jusco. This is my favorite area of SZ, but then I don't know many areas. So many girls, so little time. Many won't give the time of day to two huge white guys (we lack the charm of OAH by a long shot), but many greeted us warmly and we had a great time chatting it up in many shops.

We eventually went back to the first shop we visited and I have reported on this shop in detail before. I cannot guarantee that you can get a HJ at any sauna in Shenzhen. I have been to far more that are legit as you have. My experience has been hit and miss depending on the girl, the time of visit, time of year, etc. I did manage at a couple in LuoHu; the sauna right next door to ParknShop (across the street from the LuShan Hotel; do not confuse with next door, this one is 100% legit), the Pacific Health Center once (expensive), and another that is difficult to describe the location nearby the WanJia supermarket. Having said that, I have been at the same saunas other times and got nothing. I use Sauna in Shenzhen for relaxation and massage only and look for my action elsewhere.

I figured how to tell those places apart. If they lead you to a secluded private room maybe down an elevator, or the massage place is hidden quite well from public view, and you have more privacy, chances are that it's not fully legit.

I went to one hotel located just 1 street north at the first light, and 2 streets right, of the Li Yuan Hotel. They had an ad on the outside that it was about 88 for 2 hours. However, I wasn't able to find the entrance to the massage place inside that hotel until I asked. They led me down a flight of stairs. The massage girls were dressed in short skirts, so I knew it wasn't legit. The girl offered me a handjob, and said it was $10 tips.

Then there was one place inside the Jing Peng Hotel. The papasan asked me what kind of girl I wanted to do the massage. The price was around 80 RMB for 2 hours massage. He told me that minimum tip was 50, and 100 if I wanted a handjob. They didn't have much selection of girls. Just a couple that they showed you one at a time. I believe they have a suana there as well but I never try suanas since sitting in the heat seems rather boring to me. I rather grab a relaxing massage instead.

Most massage places have rooms set aside for just massage, and rooms set aside for people who want handjobs. If they put you in a room where people walk by often, or have very clear windows that people can see what you are doing, then they set you up in the massage only room.

Three monger muskateers decended upon the 'City of Barbershops' Saturday, but only one has a tail tale to tell. That would be me. Cronin joined forces with the likes of OAH and the Venerable King of Guangzhou for a little impromtu BBS quality inspection, and actually found the quality somewhat lacking.

It is the festival season, so maybe the best girls went home to see their real mama. For whatever reason, OAH and I walked around Jusco and parts east for most of the afternoon and found only a few memorable girls. Don't feel bad. In China, you paid what you agreed to, and that's it. In your situation, the papasan quoted you 200rmb, from which the girl would get probably 40. After the service, you would be shown a pad of paper for gratuity. 10 to 20 rmb would be sufficient, or nothing if you did not like the service. You don't have to pay 100 to 200 as tips.

By the way, the market rate in sz for a massage, including a hand job, is 100 to 130 rmb, plus perhaps 20 rmb after the service. For FS, the rate is 150 to 200 at BBS. I refer to average girls, and of course they are real dolls charging over 1000. Once in a blue moon, I would pursue after those expensive gals.

Sometimes I can't figure out the logic behind taking a customers money only once, when a happy customer is worth a lot more in terms of profit through word of mouth, and return visits. But yeah, I understand what you mean by leaving with bad taste in your mouth. Its what happens when locals figure out that you're a tourist, and can't speak the language all that well. I hope you learned something from this so that it never repeats itself.

Remember: tipping is not mandatory in China. And always get the "total price"

The massage is supposed to be $80, and the optional tip $100 for a hand job. This is the price I was quoted without even any bargaining, which I still think is rather high, when you consider that you can get full service for $150 at all the BBS that OAH always talks about.

Whatever you write on that paper that girl tells you to sign is not the total price of your visit. It is the "tip" of the girl. You can even write zero on it if you didn't get anything special.

What happens if a girl thinks you're a newbee is that they'll try to get you to write what they want onto that piece of paper, thinking that you'll think its the total price. Its really their tip.

By the way, the other place I mentioned is not inside the Li Yuan Hotel (Its located in another hotel near there). I just mention the Li Yuan Hotel on Shennon Dong Road because I couldn't remember the name of the other hotel.

Basically, here is how you would find the other hotel. I'll assume you're currently inside the Li Yuan Hotel for starters.

1. While exiting the doorway of the Li Yuan Hotel, turn right.
2. Walk straight for a block till you see the first traffic light. this is about 1 block from memory)
3. Walk across the street on the first traffic light, and then turn right.
4. Walk straight for about 2 to 3 blocks.
5. When you see a nice looking hotel, look for a massage advertisment which shows a caucasian women enjoying a massage and a price of around $88. (I can't remember the exact price but is something very very close to that and definitely under $100). You can't miss it because its the only one on the block like that.
6. Walk into the hotel and just ask the hotel reservation people where the massage is. They'll tell you to go down 1 flight of stairs.

I was quoted just $10 for a handjob by the girl, so don't pay too much. You can bargain till you like the price.

By the way, at the end, the girl will try to tell you to put down 100 onto the piece of paper, but you don't have to do it. Don't get fooled into thinking its the receipt for the total price of the massage. Its their tip amount. They just like to see if they can get away with it and will always suggest 100. Just put down the amount of tip you agreed on for the hand job, and nothing more.

So hopefully, you have better luck this time.

I'm sorry to hear you came up emptyhanded at that sauna, or with your dick in your hand, depending on how you look at it. I thought it was a ParkNShop, but if it was right across from the hotel you were there. As I said, it is really "hit or miss" in most Saunas in Shenzhen.

I prefer DG saunas because the HJ is included in fee, usually around 200RMB including the sauna and massage. If you want BBBJ or FS, then you need to tip more, usually 300-500RMB depending on the establishment.

In the HJ massage places (no sauna) in Shenzhen 20-50RMB tip is adequate. These are usually 25-30RMB per hour massage fee.

It is difficult to know from the outside. Most of the places (BBS/Massage) really close to the train station are legit. Tangzhen mentioned some shops on the east side of the station, but I have not been able to find them. Unfortunately, I am much more familiar with the Futian and Jusco areas. There are many HJ only establishments in these areas mixed in with the FS ones.

The only sure fired way to know is just ask before you start the clock. One of the problems is that many of the places that offer a HJ may not be as clean as the sauna places. It seems that the cleaner the place, the less on offer. Strange coincidence.

The shops near LouHu were FS and frankly I had some trouble there. They were right next to the Felicity (Best Western Hotel), if you want a HJ you might look in the area for a regular massage shop in that area.

I agree with OAH that the cleaner shops that feature more services and hygene are less likely to provide such services. You can pretty much expect that any shop that looks fully legit will not provide and that the cross between a barbershop and a massage place is likely to have.

I'll be back in Shenzhen around Mar 6 ish. Last time my buddy's GF hooked me up with her friend. Worked out great, we spent several days together total GFE. We went to the “Window of the World” (kind of like Epcot just smaller for those who haven’t been there). If you have sight seeing time it’s worth a visit.

Anyway, usually I hit the KTV’s, AMP’s and BBS’s and in Shenzhen there are plenty to choose from. Although I’ll be in China a couple weeks I’ll only have a couple days mongering. I’m hooking up with the new GF and going to travel a bit. For sure back to HK and probably fly up to Beijing too for a few days. I really love to travel over there the people, food and sight seeing are great. Anyway, if anyone wants to hook up in SZ early March for a little mongering before I meet my new GF just PM me.

Also, usually I fly into HK and I use the same driver to take me to SZ through the immigrations/emigrations points right to the Hotel. This takes about an hour to hour and a half from HK. All and all it’s pretty convenient but, I know there is a domestic Airport but I have never used it. Is it a better way to get to SZ?

One strategy to follow in legit SZ Sauna is to always take the same girl. After a few times, she may give you a HJ when she knows you are OK. It is your right to request who you want for the massage. They may even call her in for you if she is not on duty and you are a regular customer of their establishment. Try to bring the tip into the room with you so you do not have to sign a slip for so much and trigger unecessary scrutiny.

Problem is not that the girls do not want to do HJ, but are in fear of losing their job. Sometimes management will send in a guy to test the girls. If they get caught providing any extra service, they are out the door immediately without pay.

By far the best way to get to Shenzhen is to use the ferry from HK airport.

Before HK customs, find the booth for the ferry and purchase a ticket. The ferry company will take you to the ferry terminal (5 minutes from airport) and the short trip (30 minutes) to Shekou.

The ferry costs about 160HKD and is very convenient. By using the ferry you avoid going through HK customs twice (once at the airport and a second time at the China border). The ferry company will reteieve your luggage and bring with you on the boat.

The only problem with the ferry is that is operates until around 7pm and there is only about 1 ferry per hour.

If you are planning to come to Shenzhen and don't want to visit HK (on the way in), take the ferry. Also the customs lines in Shekou are very short...

Hi all!

I want to second Yellow Fever #2's take on the ferry directly from (or to) the HK airport.

It is also doubly great if your leaving from Shenzhen; almost no wait for customs, they drop you right off at the airline gates (after the short bus ride Fever mentioned) AND they have separate ticketing booths for seat assignments and baggage check-in. Unbelievably convenient.

One final note though: It is a long and costly taxi ride from Shekou if you're going all the way to (or from) the Louhu border crossing. Under these circunstances, you might want to take the direct airport bus to Luohu.

A note of caution about taking the ferry from Shekou to the HK airport.

It can be very convenient if your airline supports the service, however not all airlines can be used with this service. I know personally that NorthWest and KLM cannot be used with this ferry service direct to the airport. Be careful or you can miss your flight.

The alternative is to take the ferry to Kowloon or Central and take the bus or the airport express train direct to the terminal but this takes alot longer than the ferry (nearly 2 hours vs 30 minutes) and requires the 2 stops at HK customs.

Anyone can take the ferry from HK to Shekou as long as the ferry is working at the time.

didn't have too many days in shenzhen and most of the time i had to work but did manage to squeese in a bit of fun. here are some of those experiences

Did I read Yf#2 correctly? I get off the plane and before I pass HK customs I can buy the ticket for the ferry and then bypass the HK customs at the Airport but clear somewhere later? That sounds too good to be true, maybe I am misreading your meaning.

I don't know if it will make any difference, but I will arrive HK from Taiwan not the U.S.

The Ferry from HK Airport

To summarize: Anyone on any flight can take the ferry from the airport to Shekou. The ferry ticket counter is before HK customs on the left side (there are 2 customs areas, veer towards the left one and keep looking left). I think there are signs in the terminal as you walk down the long way from the plane but they are not obvious. You do not have to make reservations or buy a ticket in advance, you will buy a ticket at the table they have set up. Once you purchase your ticket (around 150HKD) they will take your luggage tags (or record the number) so they can retrieve your luggage. You will get a boarding pass and be told to go to gate #16 (or something similar). This is a bus gate somewhere downstairs but near to the table.

You wait for your luggage to arrive (they bring it down), identify it and enter the bus which will take you directly to the ferry terminal, a short 5 minute drive away. When you use this ferry you do not pass customs in HK (in or out) as you are just a transit passenger. You do not have to clear HK customs at all. You will pass China customs in Shekou (fast short lines) when you arrive. This saves you time and almost as importantly pages in your passport.

There are ferries nearly every hour from around 8 or 9 AM until around 7pm. If you arrive within the ferry operating hours, this is the best way to China! I think there are also ferries from the HK Airport direct to other ports in CHina as well like: Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Shenzhen BaoAn Airport (Furong) and maybe even Guangzhou or at least they are being planned.

A note of caution: although ANY arriving passengers can take the ferry direct from the HK Airport, NOT ALL departing passengers can take the ferry. Most airlines work with this service and you will get your boarding passes and check your luggage in Shekou but some do not (NWA, KLM, Malysian). See my last post for more information. Don't make a costly mistake and miss your flight.

By the way, Shekou is a great place to arrive and has plenty of options to meet expats (go to McAuleys or the SnakePit) and for mongering. The strip is not bad, lost of girls but you will have to invest in Pineapple Beer for a while but the girls almost all speak English. There are loads of SWs in SHekou everywhere on the main roads near the strip up to around the McDonalds. Past the McDonalds (maybe 300 meters) is an area with maybe a dozen FS BBS places on the main road and perhaps countless more just behind and in the alleys. Regarding finding suanas with handjobs, most of them have them. I don't intentionally look for handjob massage places, but I always end up bumping into them most of the time. Since I can speak cantonese, and some mandarin, they are a bit more open to speak about massage options.

I always get curious what the more expensive options are, so I checked out the $200 massage option several times just to see what will happen.

They tell me there are three different types of massage:

1. zhong si - (chinese style) usually the cheapest and most are likely to be legit with girls in normal massuse uniforms. (generally 50 for 2 hours)

2. tai si - (thailand style) - might or might not have any handjobs, but they will do light touching and massage near the pelvic region. (generally 80 for 2 hours)

3. fa si - (french style) - (108 + 100 tip = approx $208) These usually have cuter girls and in more private rooms. Usually it already includes a handjob (tou yao) already.

Here is my generalization that I formed during my 3 visits to 3 different places that offered me handjobs. The first is that when you ask them for how much a massage costs, they tell you around 50 for 2 hours. Because I can speak Cantonese, they tried to sell me an upgrade. I ask them what is different about the upgrade. They hinted that the upgrade includes a bigger bed, cuter girl, and massage everywhere instead of telling me straight forward.

If you are searching for a handjob and don't want to end up with a legit massage, here is how to increase your chances.

1. Ask for the price of a normal massage, and have them show you the room. If the room has small beds, and closeby the entrance, you know there is going to be any handjob. In this case, ask to look at other options, and tell them you want a room with a bigger bed.

2. Ask them specifically for a pretty girl. I usually ask them straight out, "are there any very pretty girls?" (They get the point what you want if you ask this and will suggest an upgrade.)

3. Remember to discuss what you get for the upgrade upfront, so you wouldn't end up getting dissappointed.

Because you are inquiring about massage options and mentioning that you want a really pretty girl, they get the point that a massage is not what you're after and will lead you to the suggestion of an upgrade.

Also because they don't want to imply handjob directly, they ask you what kind of massage style you want instead: zhong si, tai si, or fa si.

All three times that I did the above, I ended up with a handjob included eventhough I never asked for one specifically. (And I don't usually like handjobs, but since I paid $200 I might as well accept it, or it wouldn't be any different than the "zhong si" style massages for $50.

A lot of massage / suana places seem to distinquish their customers by the type of "massage style" they request.

Yes I know this is a monger board..but one more word about entering SZ from HK airport ferry...

no easier way to travel. No real lines to speak about. Its a breeze. Once you get to Shekou and exit the terminal, there are many large buses that you can take to Luohu. Just ask drivers. I usually get off at Diwang because its near my home. I don't recall the bus numbers but I believe the 214K or 213K goes to Diwang and Dongmen.

Ferry to Shekou

The ferry is great as I described previously. And you can get the 5 day Shenzhen visa at the ferry terminal for the normal fee (depends on your country now but used to be 100HKD) and very quickly but the VISA office closes at 6pm so you must take at the latest the 5pm ferry. Ask in the airport about the visa and whether the ferry you will take will arrive on time.

I suspect that even if you arrive on the alst boat from Kowloon/Central at 10:00pm without a visa you WILL get a visa as there is nothing else they could do with you. THey do not check that you have a visa to get on the boat.

Cab ride from Shekou to LuoHu (LoWu) should be in the 50 to 70RMB range and will take about 30 minutes depending on traffic. As recently posted, the bus station at the ferry terminal has large reasonably comfortable express buses ('K' buses) that will take a little longer but will cost you only 7RMB.

In my opinion Shekou has very good entertainment options for the mongering community. Why does everyone want to go to LuoHu so badly anyway? What is the big attraction?

Enjoy your time in Shekou/Shenzhen.

Finally, if you see me on the ferry one day, please be discreet - you don't know who is travelling with me. It is a small world.

With Yellow Fever #2 as our gracious host, Illeaglefun, Sound Stream #2 and I went on a hunting expedition in the Da Cong area in west Shenzhen. The area is located just over the river off of Shennan Lu, about 2 km beyond the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

I cannot say that this is purely a mongering area comparable to the Jusco or WalMart areas that I normally frequent, but we did see 6-7 shops, a few of which had some reasonable talent considering we are almost on top of CNY and many girls have returned to their hometowns. A lot of walking up and down residential alleys in the rain in search of more shops yielded limited results, but there was an adequate selection to chose from in the shops where Yellow Fever had previous experience.

If you are looking to save money, have time to spare and looking for a bit of adventure, or are staying in Shekou, the ferry is great. If you want comfort and convenience, and are staying in Futian or Luo Hu, the private car is the way to go. OK, it costs upwards of HK$1,000 which is pricey if you are paying out of your own pocket. However, you do not have to buy a ticket, you do not have to carry your luggage around, you do not have to get a taxi, etc. You just get in at the HK airport and get out at your Shenzhen hotel. I have made it from the airport to Futian in less than an hour in the past, including both border checkpoints. A word of advise: Make sure you get a car with the permit to cross the China vehicle border so you do not have to get out and stand in line at China immigration.

There is a ferry from Shekou to Macau but, unless they have added sailings in the last year, I believe it only departs Shenzhen once a day at 11:00am, and returns from Macau at 2:30pm.

Failing that, there are buses from Shenzhen to Zhuhai very often from where you can just walk across the border to Macau.

OAH is right, there is only 1 ferry to Macau from SZ (rather inconvenient), the departure time is now 11:30 (and it takes an hour and 1/2). To get back, the ferry departs Macau at 2:15 (also inconvenient).

Yes, you can take a bus to Zhuhai and cross over, but there is also a ferry and this is MUCH MORE convenient than the ferry to Macau as they have ferries leaving/returning EVERY 1/2 hour starting at 7:30 in the morning until 6:30 at night (and the ride takes 1 hour).

The turbojet ferries from Shenzhen to Macau leave from Furong which is near to Shenzhen-BaoAn International Airport. The airport is about 35kms from the city.

There is a free bus from the Furong ferry terminal to the airport where you can take a taxi or express bus 330 to LuoHu (~40 minutes, 15RMB).

The other ferry terminal in Shenzhen is in Shekou which is much closer and more convenient. Shekou does not get any TurboJet ferries.

An alternative for the wealthy traveller here would be to take the Helicopter from the Helicopter Airport (in Nanshan) to Macau in less than 15minutes. The cost of the helicopter is around 1200RMB.

OAH and YF2 -- you are correct, the TurboJet serves FuYong terminal; I should have mentioned this in my original post. The spelling/pronounciation for any non-Chinese speakers is FuYong, not Furong. It's right next to Shenzhen airport -- takes 5 minutes by car/shuttle. There is a free shuttle both ways. Very convenient if you're trying to go from Shanghai to Zhuhai or Macau (since flights to Macau are expensive, and there's only 2 flights per day to Zhuhai from Shanghai and both are early AM). It costs 100RMB taxi ride from LoHu to FuYong. YF2's suggestion of 15RMB bus may be the way to go if you're paying out of your own pocket.

Speaking of price, the Shekou to Zhuhai ferry is cheap (relative to just about every other ferry on the Delta) at 70RMB. From Zhuhai's ferry terminal to the Gongbei customs (Macau border) will cost 10 or 12RMB by cab. This is probably the cheapest way to get from Shenzhen to Macau....and it's reasonably quick--a hell of a lot faster than going by car (which I've done, after missing the last ferry at 6pm) or by bus. I've never had to wait long when crossing either direction at Gongbei customs.

Yes, OAH, I'd be happy to spend a day with you in Macau, or in Zhuhai. I kinda like Zhuhai because it's scenic (on the scale of Chinese cities) and a lot cheaper than Macau (very similar to Macau for ST). However, I do thoroughly enjoy a good soap-n-screw in a sauna!

I'm fixing to return to your area sometime in February. As you know, I'm liable to show up or cancel at anytime!

I would like to lead an expedition to an area of Shekou that never gets any write ups. I have briefly described the location previously but I have not read any reports about it.

I was in the area today CNY and there are lots of BBSs (unfortunately most are vacant), with relatively clean streets and wide alleyways (unlike Dachong). I think it would rival the best in the Jusco area in terms of quantity of BBSs and possibly even quality.

I want to lead an advanced expedition there to further explore the area not in so much as a macro fashion but more the microenvironment (back rooms and such).

Unfortunately I will be away from Shenzhen for at least a week (going to America) until the 1st of February and after that I will be here and also travelling inside China sporadically.

I went out hunting with illeaglefun a couple of days ago. Post CNY, it appears that talent is slowing trickling back into town in the usual BBS hunting grounds, but still fairly low stock.

Any taxi driver in Tangxia knows Golden Lake (Jin Wu). The sauna is set away from the main tower block of the hotel.

Sha Tsui (pronounced the same as Tsim Sha Tsui in HK) is a village near the Wong Kong/Lok Ma Chau border crossing. Lots of the WGs in HK live there as it is cheap. Taxi from Lo Wu RMB30-40. Also minibus from Lo Wu. It is true, you could just about walk up to any female after entering the village entrance and they will be for sale. Girls are normally young <22. Not much English spoken.

By taxi from LouWu I would estimate RMB 30 or so.

Just say "SHA TSUI". It is that simple. 10 mins at most fron Wong Guang border. If the taxi driver doesn't know where it is, get in another taxi. Every one knows why people go there and there is only one reason. It is also assumed that you have gone there before as newbies don't usually wander around blindly by themselves.

After about 5 minutes of wandering around Sha Jui, I said aloud, "Oh, shit,
this place is crazy..." and OAH turned to me and said, "This is great, man!"

And that, my friends, sums up Sha Jui.

First of all, don't let me get y'all thinking that it's a paradise of stunning 9s
and 10s because it's not at all. I've never been to Tiajuana, but I imagine
that Sha Jui and Tiajuana would probably share more than a passing
resemblence. Imagine a typical semi-slummy commercial area, like most of
the streets near a Chinese university, and then add a generous sprinkling
of *****s galore. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, just
walking around alone, in pairs, in groups, in gaggles, etc. It's almost
disorienting because there are other "legit" things like restaurants, convienence
stores, and family housing, too.

Warning, there are agressive mamasans everywhere physically pulling on
you (well, me, not OAH) to go to their apartment for a lineup. After
doing the freeform stroll, OAH and I finally went up to a mama's apartment
which is the same size as most Chinese ST apartments, 50 square
meters or less. Then imagine at least THIRTY girls being stuffed in

If I remember correctly, the building has about 4 restaurants on the east side. The entrance to the sauna/massage place is on the south, towards the customs bldg. I think there was something written like 'Sauna' or 'Massage'.

Huangang is for pedestrians and vehicles. You need a China Visa to go there, they don't do visas on entry like to do in Lowu.

These are the restaurant that facing East. Not directly facing the Custom house, when you come down to the stairs towards the Taxi Stand, you are facing them.

I can't remember the restaurant name. but, there was a stand with one or two girls. standing outside the door, and you can either take the lift outside of the restaurant or go through the restaurant take the lift opposite to the counter at the bottom of the restaurant.

The quality of the girl is rather not as good as the other places. Price indicated that the quality is around 6-7,

The girl I met was fro Guan Xi, Busty, keen to have some action, the room was fine, only the shower room is small, but who cares.

Sha Tsui-- sorry for the length of this post, but man is it worth it.

There’s been a lot of talk about this place recently so pay attention boys, cause I’m about to give you detailed directions to heaven and the lay of the land once you're there.

First I’ll tell you my experience. As OAH mentioned, we both paid a visit to Sha Tsui. After OAH left I spent a good amount of time by myself scoping the place out. It was about 10-11 at night (and I must say I felt completely at ease in the area by myself, but sometimes I'm a little too care free). What is it like?

That’s it. I’m done with…I’m over.....I’m helpless...Say good-bye to me. There’s no doubt I will go broke cause this place is unbelievable. When you find me starving in a ditch with no money it’s ‘cause you know I found Sha Tsui.

SHAME ON ME….SHAME ON YOU…..SHAME ON ALL OF US for not knowing this place well and having it ALL OVER THIS STINKING BOARD. As Bob Builder said, "I'm surprised you guys didn’t know about this place." Well Bob, let me first tell you, you're right and second, let me ask you: Why didn't you kick our asses into gear? :) To think I've been here 5 months and this place has been here all along.

Oh Shenzhen is indeed a heaven for mongering, but now that this place is discovered (or should I say re-discovered), we’ll all be going to hell.

This place is absolute Candyland. I’m sure I’ve built it up way too much now, but you know what, you’re still gonna love the place. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so you might not agree, but MAN OH MAN, I've never seen so many pretty, thin, tall, YOUNG, playful, cheerful girls with an EXCELLENT attitude in my life. Someone mentioned Tijuana? I've been there, this place BLOWS IT AWAY!!!

Earlier, OAH mentioned his visit to a particular place. It’s my belief that it really doesn’t matter. I think you just go there, follow a girl, make your choice and she’ll show you the way. Please know that for now I am only speculating. I will be going back (again and again and again ...) to check this theory out. Other than that, just follow a mamsan and she'll show you the way. Watch out for the pimps, they can be quite aggressive.

Oh and I haven't even mentioned the service. Let's be real. Most of the time, the service in a BBS is adequate, but my first time here and it is already one of my best experiences of all time (not including all-nighters). And from what I hear from OAH’s and Johnnies’ experiences, it’s the same.

A soapy-like wash in the shower with a finger rim job, playful and vigorous foreplay, a BBBJ that I didn’t even have to ask for (which was quite well performed), long FF (finger f**k), deep hard French kissing, many positions while not rushing me at any moment. I dropped 200Y on her because her service was so good. Never a mention of money.

Do I need to say any more? Are they all like this? Like I said before, I’m a newbie to this part of SZ, I’ll report more as I can.

In the meantime, there’s been some confusion how to get there. Let me fix that. Yes, you can just say the name to the cabbie, but I’ve had waaaaay too many experiences where they don’t know what the jack you’re saying and if you’re new to the area, you’re screwed.

General directions:

You still might need a map, but this will get you there for sure. General landmarks: it’s west of Luohu, south of Shenzhen Golf Club, north of Houhai Bay just as the water hits the Hong Kong peninsula.

It is in the Futian District. Someone had written that it was south of Windows of the World, but that’s in the Nanshan District and still quite a ways away to the west.

You have to be careful ‘cause the streets tend to be on angles here.

With angles in mind, Sha Tsui is bordered by Shazui Lu (Rd.) to the west, Fuqiang Lu to the north, Xinzhou Lu to the East and the Guangshen Expressway to the south, but you actually enter it from Shazui Rd (on the east side of the road) just south of Fuqiang Rd.

There you will see a big, traditional Chinese Archway (colored white with tile on the roof). It is lit up in neon at night and is very easy to see. It has 3 archways, one for the 2 lane street and one to each side for the sidewalks.

The street is 100 yards long (about) and is tree-lined. The end brings you to a Round-about. You’re there. Now remember, the city streets around you are angular, but once here, the area is your typical grid system.

Lay of the Land:

At the Round-about you have 3 choices: right, straight, left. You want to continue straight. This street is the main strip (mostly legit places of work, stores, and shops). Paralleling this road to the left is a 2nd main strip. In between these 2 main strips are 25 alleys (give or take). There is some action off to the right, but most is to your left in between the 2 main strips. The action is also primarily in the middle 10-15 alleys. You’ll see stuff in all 25 alleys, but the heart of the place is in the middle.

And boy, what stuff you will see. I was there with OAH on a Sunday at 9:00PM and there had to be well over 100 girls, many walking the streets like they were on review, many hanging out in numerous shops.

The attitude of the girls (to me) is amazing. I’ve been to Jusco, Futian Wal-mart and Shekou areas and this place has them beat hands down. You walk around these other areas and often the girls won’t give you the time of day. Here, they’re excited to see you and the service (well, I already told you about that).

If your tastes are different from mine, you might not be as impressed, but I was ecstatic.

JUST GO, there’s no doubt that you’ll be glad you did.

Unfortunately I have only been there once so I don't know about afternoon times yet. Will have to scope it out a while and report back. I plan on going tonight, will report back.

Costs appear to be 150 per session, but I dropped 200 of my own free will. Again, the girl made no mention of money. Can you go cheaper than 150? Not sure, but until others tell me differently, that's the going rate which ain't bad for what you get.

I notice the people here is more and more interested about Sha Tsui. I know this place for a long time but I seldom go there to play. This is because it is one of the most dangerous place to play in Shenzhen. It is a place full of gangster and people often get killed there. It is also dangerous to play there because of it's too famous for prostitution and it's not uncommon that people get caught by the police and get fined or imprisoned.

It's only a place good for those of you that are really eager to take the risk of being fined or imprisoned.

thanks for the mention, illeagle. just a word of caution as i have been mongering in shenzhen for well over 10 years. this place is considered a "black" place by many shenzhen locals as some really bad things have had happened to mongers e.g. apartments getting raided by the gong an and decalring that the girl you are with is not only a prostitute but ****. mongers getting stabbed and robbed. (confirm by asking a hk person who reads a chinese newspaper). these areas are regularly reviewed as well a macau in hk chinese newspapers.

my first exp. there was not too great. i was not too keen about going in to a dodgy apartment building not knowing who was up there. my fellow mongers who were also newbies there(2 visits at the time) went into an apartment and all the time we were wandering around we were being followed. and not by cuties.

also, one of our number admitted to getting a bad infection from bbbj.

this place is like the mexican bar in the film "from dusk to dawn", ok during the day but not the best place to be at night.

try one for the oks as for $500 each you will drink, eat, grope numerous girls and get 1 shot which is not a bad way to spend 3-4 hours in an afternoon.

i have a regular crew who go there twice a week normally late afternoon or early evening. imagine having 10 guys in a room with at least 10 girls who don't mind having there nipples compared and touch tested to see if the equipment is real.

another sandy area that you may want to visit after sha tsui if you get "never ever" of it is "sha wan (sandy bay). it is another group of bbs villages which also acts as one of the second borders into shenzhen from dongguan.

illeagefun is a good friend of mine, and he wrote a great report on sha tsui, and here is where the happy words end. can you say surveillance? i bet you can. that being said, i appreciate the eagle's time for showing me a new nesting ground.

arrived in this district on thursday night at 8:30. did a walk-about down a few of the alleys. within 10 minutes or less, we were under constant surveillance by the turd police in the grey jackets. fifteen minutes later, we were being followed by the cops in the snot green jackets, and that is a little more worry some. these pricks can actually arrest you. i called up oah and asked what he would do, and his reply was "get the hell out of there now".

i am better at asking for advice than following it sometimes. we went for dinner, in an attempt to get the turd poice to lose interest. throughout the entire 45 minute dinner, one of the green-jacket cops was standing directly across the street, looking into the window of the restaurant, directly at us. i swear that this country has unlimited employment bandwidth for useless jobs like the one that this prick has.

then we went for a stroll again, in the direction of a particular mamasan's apartment. were we followed along the way? yes. did we see the mamasan waiting at the door? yes, becuz we called ahead and i made her suffer through my hacked mandarin expression of intent. she saw the cops walk by, and she ducked inside, but left the door slightly ajar. we walked in, with the pretense that we would sit in her apartment and do nothing for 10 minutes, just in case the turd police busted in the door.

we walked up 3 flights of stairs and knocked on the door. no answer. she knew that we had shit on our shoes from the turd police, and she didn't want any of that poopy in her apartment. two minutes later, 3 green coats and 2 grey coated turd police busted into the building. we started to stroll down the stairs like nothing was wrong. this worked. we passed them on the stairway and said "ni hao", only because i don't know how to say "hello fuckface" in chinese.

the police were accompanied by some prick from hong kong, whom i assume was the laoban of this particular joint. he said, and i quote with my teeth clenched, "we don't want english people in this town. you go now". racist prick. i wouldn't dare say that to any of the 300,000 hong kongers in my home town.

we were followed all the way back to the gates of this village by one green suited prick. i considered asking if he would hold my dick while i pissed on his shoe, but thought better of it, not being a big fan of dried rice and stale water. we took a cab to futian walmart district, where we were again followed by cops and told to leave. fucking twilight zone tonight. too much for me, so we called it a night and took a cab home.

what a fucking waste of 100 mg of perfectly good kamagra.

avoid sha tsui like the plague, unless you are from hong kong, or you are a white guy who likes spending time behind bars with some cell mate who shoves chop sticks up your ass.

Good KTV or OK Joint in SZ?

After last night's disaster in Sha Tsui I am willing to spend a little more to get the job done. But I also don't want to break the bank.

Can anyone recommend a good KTV or OK joint that is in the immediate SZ area and is easy on the wallet? Are there any place in the downtown area that offer 3-5-8, where 3=300 for ST, 5=500 for LT, and 8=800 for all night?

Also, what is an OK place anyway? How does it differ from a KTV?

SOME SAD NEWS TO REPORT !!! POSSIBLE TROUBLE !!!

I have some news that I must tell you all about and obviously need your opinions.

I really apologize for the length of this post, but I feel you must here this whole story as all of it is vital and quite unbelievable.

Guys, for the first time in my nearly 2 years here in China while mongering, I actually felt like I was being followed by authorities.

Now I say this a little tongue in cheek, but it's not that far from the truth.

In addition, it's the first time I also experienced racism.

I went to visit Sha Tsui (the hot topic on this board) tonight (Thursday) with a fellow monger from the board. He was interested in checking the place out and I was eager to get another piece of the action.

Immediately upon our arrival, two (non-suited) cops started tagging us as we began the walk down the main strip. Now of course I thought absolutely nothing of this. I’ve been followed a bit before. They check you out and then leave you on your merry way. But this time was different. As we started to walk up and down the different alley ways they continued to case us. We began to become suspicious as we started to weave in and out of the different alley ways and they still followed us. They were on their walkie-talkies and by now we were running into suited policemen who seemed to be giving orders to the non-suited cops.

Having NEVER experienced anything like this before, we were a bit unsure what to think of it, only that we knew something was amiss. We continued for a bit and then we stopped on one of the main strips to make a phone call and the cops just stopped and stared at us.

OK, that’s it. Something really screwed is happening here. We decide to cool it a bit and sit down in one of the restaurants for a bite to eat. All the cops then depart, except one. One guy has obviously been assigned to watch us. As we ate our meal over a span of some 45 minutes, it appeared as if the guy had left, but as soon as we paid our bill and walked out the door, there he was. He was soon joined by the same entourage as before.

I had a phone number of a mamsaan and we had contacted her from the restaurant (in our rough Chinese) to say 2 laowei would be coming and to meet us to hurry us upstairs. We made our way to the place while being loosely followed. We saw the mamsan. She apparently knew something was up, ‘cause she acted strange. She made eye contact with us and then bolted up the stairs behind the steel door. We checked the door and it was open, so we walked upstairs before the cops could see where we had gone.

Guys the story gets much stranger.

We went up the stairs, but no mamasan. I knocked on the door where I had been just 4 days before and no one was answering. I was wondering about the cops as I could hear the walkie-talkies blaring outside the building. We waited a couple of minutes and then decided to get the hell out of the place.

As we went down, the cops had made it into the building and were coming up the stairs. I was strangely calm, as I have become so comfortable here in this country and never once felt threatened. We were allowed to pass when a well dressed gentlemen (well, I shouldn’t say gentlemen, but probably some real nasty expletive) came up to my friend and politely told him, “Please, we do not allow English people in this area.”

I didn't hear what he said at first, so I asked my friend and he said just keep walking, I’ll tell you later.

As we walked out the door the alley way was crowded with onlookers checking out the scene. You know the scene, whenever a cop shows up half the village idiots gather around to gawk. Well, that’s what they were doing.

We were right in the middle of Sha Tsui. We began to take a slow, but methodical walk out of the damn place while two assigned cops followed us all the way back to the entrance. We stood around for a moment lamenting while we decided where to go. At this point I was so amazed by what was happening, I wasn’t upset yet.

As we waited for a taxi one cop continued to keep an eye on us until we got into the taxi and drove off.

I know this story seems a bit unbelievable, but hold on to your hats, there’s more. I’m shocked and dismayed at what had already happened, but what happened next has me not knowing what to think. I hope to get some good input from you fellow mongers.

We headed off to the Wal-mart Futian area. We walked the entire area and than decided to return to one shop and pick some girls.

At the shop, the mamsan asked for 50 yuan up front. I hate when they do this and I usually try to talk them out of it. The girl was really hot, so I let my other head do the thinking.

JUST as I hand the 50 over, a motorcycle cop (with another cop in one of those side car attachments) zooms in with lights flashing. ALL the girls go runnin, out the back door and out the front door. The cop gets off the bike and stands between me and the mamsan and in Chinese (that I couldn’t completely understand) basically said “GO.”

As we walked down the street, the girl was still trying to get her trick, as she motioned for me to follow her. But the cops would have none of it. They came up close to us again and said “GO.”

THAT”S F-n IT !!! I cannot believe what is happening here. NOW I’M PISSED, I’m out 50 Yuan, but that’s the least of my worries. I’m in China. For the first time EVER, bad thoughts came into my head. We agreed to just cut our losses and get the F out of there.

I don’t believe we were being followed. Both areas are within the Futian area, so I surmise that word went out about 2 laowei being in Sha Tsui. When the cops in the Wal-Mart area saw 2 laowei that fit the description they decided to pull the same stunt. That’s the only logic that I can place to this madness.

OAH, have you heard of anything like this happening? The first experience by itself is maybe believable, but both of these events? Only ½ an hour apart? I gotta tell you, I really don’t know what to think.

Really looking for your guys thoughts on this one. Do I dare go back to Sha Tsui again? The place is just too damn good to stay away from.

Hi Illegal,

Sounds like there is a "Yan Da" (crackdown), happening in your part of the world. When you know that this is the case its best to stay home/hotel until the police have been told to look into other crimes.

The racism you describe is commen in China. If there is a crackdown on girls and then white people (very visible in China) are out after girls it makes the cops look hopeless. Just remember that this biz is illegal in China and if the cops want they can get nasty on you if caught.

But on the other hand as most girls are supporting at least three people "back home on the farm" its not something that the government wants to stop 100%.

There will always be crackdowns in China, normally lasting a few days/weeks, keep some girls mobile phone numbers in hand for when these happen.

Just a note, as far as I know police uniform in GD are black and say clearly 'Jing An'. Others are just just some sort of private security, or just a party dress..

Whether you get caught be real or fake police will not make a big difference. And honestly, I don't know which one will be worst.

(Saying that, there are lots of nearby areas. I used to go to Sha Wei, next block to East, just north of there where many SW in the late afternoon/evening.)

Well, I guess this whole "Sha Jui" thing is coming
to a head now. If I were you, Illeagle, I would definately
NOT go there again anytime soon. I guess you could
head over there in a couple of weeks or something but
for you own safety, stay away.

I guess in retrospect, OAH and I had a good, police-free
time since I don't have white skin, one of few advantages
I have in China, and you and OAH had a good time the first
experience because a pair of laowai hadn't come in a while.
The girl I had last week even remembered the last time she
saw another foreigner (black guy, in December 2003) in
the area, which suggests it isn't too foreigner-friendly I guess.

Anybody else have any experiences?

as a case where anything negative happening to laowei in
Sha Jui will cause unwanted light to be cast upon that area
leading to some public calls for cleanup and etc...just like what

#1 Don't go back to Sha Tsui ever during the night. ever. ever.
#2 Don't go back to ShaTsui alone. ever.
#3 If you do go back to Sha Tsui, go during the day and take someone with you. If you cannot meet these criteria for a return to Sha Tsui, then reread #1 and#2.

Seriously. Those cops WILL recognize your face the next time they see you.

If you do go back, try to take a chinese-looking person with you. A certain promient member of this board would be a fine choice.

But in all honesty....is it worth what may happen to you? Is it really fun to fuck a girl while having reason to worry very seriously that cops may bust you? Stick with the areas and the girls you trust....and stick it in their holes!

Sorry to hear about your problems, but not to be unexpected.

You weren't followed by the cops but security which is run by the local village administration. Racist, maybe but you realise many Chinese believe rightly or wrongly that AIDS was brought to China by foreigners. It was just a financial decision that they think Gweilos are bad for business.

Jeez, if the last time they saw a Lao Wei Black Guy was in December 2003, it was probably me who took him there.

Maybe you should have stuck to the OKs as I sugguested to keep a low profile and not mongered on the streets where you stick out.

Brother, I don't think the govt. factors in that mongering is a way to support rural villages in Sichuan and Wuhan in to the annual budget in China.

So where there's heaven there is also hell. Well you guys got to experience a dream for one week at least.

Have to agree with the other posters. Prostitution is still technically illegal in China. It is often tolerated like so many other things because China is still not really a place where the rule of law exists. By the same token, your "rights" as a suspect or civilian dealing with the police also don't really exist. If they want to screw with you, they will.

Sorry to hear about the trouble, but dont take it too personally. When OAH and I went to Futian we were followed and we left without making a scene. Your mistake was to not leave once you saw you were being followed. Naughty boy. As soon as you think there is a LE problem, play dumb lost tourist and catch the first taxi out. Never try to be cute and play hide and seek. Not wise. If you want to show you have balls, go up to the guy following you once you notice a problem and ask him for directions to the nearest McDonalds. Play around with him before you have done anything and he will be on the defensive. He does not want to admit to a tourist that there are so many working girls. Best is to just leave and help preserve the opportunity for others.

Yes there is raceism, get over it and play the game right. My advice is to take a trip behind Jusco, and get balanced. This is just the cost of doing business here.

I have been living in China for 2 years, and have been a traveler here for 6. I live where there are only local Chinese, and most of my friends are local too. It amazes me how my brethren from overseas do not understand alittle local culture and not to cause themselves or others problems. We are guests here and its their country, their rules. Should you have the hint of anything amiss, grab a taxi and get going. Don't play games, don't think being American or European means you have a special get out of jail card free, or a free pass to do or act how you want.

Also, I don't care if you have been living in Shanghai or Beijing for 20 years. This is Shenzhen. Totally different. Please be careful and don't put yourselves in harms way. As alot of the seniors here can attest to, there are enough safe places here to play without testing the unsafe waters.

I’ve been reading all the posts regarding your recent incident in Sha Tsui and wanted to put my two cents worth into the pot.

First, one must draw distinction between the types of LE in Shenzhen. I believe the grey suits and green suits were Bao An (Neighborhood Security), rather than, Gong An (Public Security; the real Police). The real ones have a arm patch that says Police in English. However, even the Bao An can be a pain in the ass sometimes, although I do not think they can arrest you. I have been followed by them on numerous occasions at different hunting grounds around the city. The motorcycle with side car which has been referred to in the Futian area is in fact Gong An. These are the guys that followed Tangzhen and I that day. Best advice has already been given by others. If you are being followed or watched closely, just move out as I suggested when you guys called. You never know the reason behind the harassment so it is better to be safe than sorry.

I was surprised to hear about the direct discrimination comment. I have lived in China nearly 9 years and never have experienced such a direct confrontation. However, there are times when I can feel animosity or have been rejected from girls or BBS that do not cater to foreigners. I have learned to just take it in stride.

Looking back at the two times I had been to the area, before the incident with Illeagle and Raz, for guidance, Johnny and I were there earlier in the evening and, Johnny is Asian. I led Illeagle directly to the same Mommy Johnny and I had used the time before e.g. we did not roam around the area and draw any attention. So, maybe the secret is to go with an Asian or go and take care of business quickly and leave.

Now I may know why I could not get any of my local or Hong Kong friends to tell me how to find the place again after my initial visit some time back. It may have been for my own protection. However, the place is too good for me to stay away forever. The quality of talent was phenomenal and I had fantastic service there on both occasions. Having said that, I suggest calling the Mommy to see what is going on and if the situation has cooled off before I ventured in again.

Not sure what you mean regarding the HK girls. You can find good talent in SZ for $150 RMB, granted the success rate can vary a lot depending on the area. You quote prices of 280HK$ to 450HK$, that's a lot more coin.

Also, could you please provide more details on the Photoease site that you mentioned; this sounds like a good source of info.

OAH, they can't arrest you but they can call the real Gong An or beat the fuck out of you.

HK is not a bad option for those who live there and it works out the same in coin once you factor in the travel, but the girls may have done over 10 that day by the time its your turn.

If you still want Sha Tsui action and you ahve Mamasan's phone number, give her a call and order takeaways.

OAH, is the shop in Futian still around with the twins that wear pink cheongsam. I had both of them at the same time a few months ago for $300 total.

I'll add my 2 cents to this SJ thread.

I believe most of the places offering these types of services both in Southern China and HK(in MK area) are run and control by triad gangsters. They get their profits from the girls, and I am guessing probably the Gong An gets a cut, somehow.

If this whole thing blows up, alot of people is going to lose their rice bowl, and they do not want that to happen.

They will not think twice to do harm to people who will jeopardize their living.
I would advice be extremely careful about this place. If the risk is too great at this place, move on to a greener pasture.

Sounds like this Sha Tsui area might be a staging post for the Hong Kong Mongkok trade. The girls may be waiting their turn/rotation for going to HK. I guess this on that the fact of the numbers, the services seem similar and that it had organised air about it. Then there is the odd fact that the HK man came with the security to warn you off.

On this basis they would not want too much attention being drawn lest the authorities order a crack down.
Best advise stay away or get some take away if possible.

I went looking for this place in Huangang yesterday around 4 pm. Towards the customs side of the east side, there was a stand outside. I went up there to the third floor and was confronted with a zoo, mainly people having foot massage and a large waiting area, rather like a small supermarket.

Is this the place you know? It is not very discrete at all. I turned around immediately.

I suspect it is different to the restaurant entrance and the FS establishment.

I sincerely doubt that the shops here in mainland are run by triads. The gov controls everything here (almost as much as Singapore, but not quite) and they do not accept ANY organization that could compete with them for authority. No, these areas are well known to the authorities and are tolorated for the time being. If the gov senses any 'real' criminal element in the area, they would be shut down in a heartbeat. Haven't you noticed how many Police Community Affairs Offices are right in the center of these areas? Do you think this is by accident? You think they would not know if Triads were working there? No, these things are pretty much what they seem, small time 'entreprenures' looking to make a buck.

I am Hong Kong based and rarely contribute to this thread. Just happened to be up in Shenzhen last weekend and decided to try out Sha Zui without knowing about the recent bad experience. Walked in at 4:00pm and was out by 5:30. I have been here for 20+ years and have a pretty good 6th sense. Nothing smelt out of order the whole time I was there. A mamasan took me up and offered me a bevy of young beauties. The deed was done and I left a happy man.

I agree with the others that this place is well known as a trouble spot in SZ. I would be extremely careful when visiting. I am not sure I would take the risk after dark. The same must be said of most places in SZ. Just leave if you smell trouble.

Sorry to say this but you have no idea how wrong you are. Triads have operated in China for many centuries, they operate throughout the country now and there are few places they are more prominent than in Shenzhen. In fact SZ is commonly referred to by the international law enforcement community as the "Wild West" due to the amount of organized crime activity.

The various levels of government tolerate them because they contribute immensely to the "modernization" of the Chinese economy. They are involved in nearly all legal and illegal industries in the country and most importantly from the authorities point of veiw, they grease the necessary wheels to keep things on the up and up. You can bet that a place like Sha Zui is a hive of triad activity. My information comes from a fairly senior HK police inspector (and a bit of a ***** monger himself) who was previously assigned to the Anti-Triad division and has an indepth academic education on the subject and, I suspect, access to some of the best intelligence gathering. There are Triads in Shenzhen and yes they are often mixed up with the local authorities and the armed forces.

I must second what Acer_V wrote about the triads in Shenzhen.

I have done business in Guangdong province over the last several years and because of it have gotten close to a number of high govt officials who have more or less confirmed this.

Shenzhen and Macau are 2 big centers of triad activity and they more or less operate everywhere in Guandong. The gov't lets them be for now because they mutually benefit from it. One day, that may no longer be the case and they will get shut down but we are not there yet.

The good news for mongers is that they will leave you alone as long as you don't create trouble. So play quietly, be courteous, pay and you will be fine. And yes, don't go into areas of town that are notorious for crime. Especially if you are a foreigner and do not speak Chinese well, use your heads. There are plenty of safe places to play at. Why take any risks?

Regarding dealings with LE if you are a foreigner, my view is this. Chinese high government officials are very concerned about the country's image in the international community. So, in the end, a foreigner will be able to get away with much more (provided you are not involved in "subversive" activities like fan lung gong) than a Chinese national. That means that you are not going to be locked up and expelled for mongering. But that's only in the end. At the beginning, if you get in trouble, you will be dealing with the local jing cha who might resent foreigners flashing their dollars and screwing their women. That can be very unpleasant. So again, be smart and avoid conflicts with them. It's really not worth it.

If you look at how China has evolved in the last 20 years, the key word that comes to mind is pragmatism. If you want to succeed (and enjoy) China, you must be pragmatic. Certain western ideals don't yet work really well in China and you are bound to be disappointed if you insist on them.

I loved mongering in Shenzen before and I spoke with my girl in Shenzen today and she said that most of the shops are closed and that things are really pretty tough right now. I would say that the Zhuhai thing is really getting too much attention and bringing the nationalistic fervor to the front. That kind of event brought out the wrong kind of interpretation on the mongering acitivity. I mean we are just a bunch of horny guys and have no intention of dishonoring the Chinese people in general(unlike those Japanese). Just open any German history textbook and Japanese history textbook and you will know why the average Chinese (and Koreans) still feel so much resentment towards the Japanese. The Germans have handed over their war criminals whereas the Japanese still honor their Mengeles' in a shrine temple.

This is not a preaching exercise, just a warning to be careful and be sensitive to the local culture. Take as low a profile as possible for now. The repercussion is still felt because the national pride was wounded by the Zhuhai incident. (i.e., why alot of the Zhuhai organizers received life sentences.)

Day trip on Sunday to the City of Shops. Hit Jusco about 6pm and Futian about 7. I saw all the shops open everywhere and packed with girls. Every chair had a curvy little ass sitting in it. Didn't see a lot of mongers, though.

A shot goes out to my main man, the bad boy of Shenzhen, Illeagle. Couldn't have found Futian all by my lonesome without you. Hey man, there are "Wanted" posters all over Futian with your picture on it. I did see two cop characters walking the street in Futian (never saw that before), but I just stood my ground, looked at my map like a dumb tourist and ignored them, they walked on by.

Just had to check out the bunny hutch to visit my favorite cottontails. I dunno, I think the bunny hutch has seen its hey day. I saw only one real stunner, and she was sleeping in the back room in her jammies. I don't know why, but every one of these girls knew my name, and I didn't know any of them. What the hell you been telling them about me, OAH?

Ended up choosing the one who was most excited at my being there, but it was a bad experience. Initially great, but she was in a hurry, way out ahead of me and moby. I wasn't having a great time and as a result the condom came off inside her. She went ballistic and actually it was not too much fun for me either. Result was about 30 minutes of hard to understand arguments. I gave her 250 and caught the train.

I went to go check out the ShaTsui area. As reported it is a rather large area, and the taxi drive knew it right away when I told him I wanted to go there. I had no problem walking around and passed several BaoAn, none gave me a second look. I did not have enough time to go for service, but it seemed it would be pretty easy to get. The mamasans were pretty respectful actually and not so aggressive. There are a lot of people around and yes a majority are HK types. I did not feel any problem on safety, at least no more so than any low rent area. Be aware and respectful and I would think not much problem.

Did a Jusco trip, but it was pretty much to form 150 RMB, Yang Bing, full D cups, bit chubby, OK service, cute face. I had done her before so knew what to expect. I saw a girl that did spark an idea I have been thinking about, take a real plain (not ugly) girl on the premise that she will be more into the sex. Just a theory though.

I hope the recent posts will not scare off would be mongers in Shenzhen. I also take Tangzhen's approach to be aware and respectful. If you are being followed or watched closely, just walk away and hit another area. Avoid any confrontations. If a particular shop or girl is not interested in serving you, just let it go. If you receive poor service, just chalk it up to experience and try another one. Just pretend that you are a veteran and know exactly what you are doing and you will be OK.

I have been mongering in Shenzhen for nearly three years following this modus operandi and never had any serious problems.

Too far away from my usual turf to be a regular haunt and I tend to like to stay where I have people that are friendly with the local LE.

I do sometimes wonder how much we do contribute to the intelligence of Chinese authorities.
I only follow the Shenzhen thread occasionally, but do understand that the ShaTsui Area only came into the focus of discussion recently.
Maybe it is the extensive discussion about this place in this board which draw some unwanted attention.
If I would be in charge to orchester a major crackdown I probably would have a good look into this thread in order to get informed where to focus my activities.

My Shanghai experience: those crackdowns come and go, but it seems that for the time being, it is somewhat 'high season' (also in Shanghai), which might be related to the big gathering in Beijing.

Racism: from what I have read here, it seems to me that the place is actually pretty famous among the Chinese Mongering community. There are many illegal things going on in China, pretty well known by the authorities, and often also tolerated. Such tolerance does change pretty fast, if it has to be feared that international attention- say: press- is attracted.
I woudn't take this comment too seriously.

If some of you sometimes take a trip to the Japan threat you can see that there, it is actually pretty common to keep the mongering scene foreigner-free.

Firstly, this board is in English, not too widely spoke by the LE in China. Secondly, and far more importantly, check some of the HK chinese newspapers - THEY got all the details and more.

There are also PLENTY of chinese language message boards in Hong Kong whith much more details then this one.

I am pretty certain that LE are aware of every playground and operator in Shenzhen regardless of whether we talk about it on this thread or not, and most operators are paying, in one way or the other, for the priveledge to trade in this industry.

Regarding racism, I am also pretty certain that there are those who prefer that we foreigners do not patronize certain areas or establishments at certain times or even at all for that matter. Having said that, the all powerful $$$ usually levels the playing field for us most of the time. They are just too greedy to turn it away.

You are right, the all powerful $$$ does level the playing field but you guys are not playing where you spend lots of $$$ but the cheap places where Chinese play. You will always be welcome at 5 star joints where the services costs 4 times, 5 times + as much.

Remember China does not want the reputation of a Thailand.

As for the LE reading these threads, why do they need to when a foreigner sticks out like a sore thumb anyway. I mean haven't you experienced the situation where people point and stare at you in China if you look like a foreigner.

Went shopping recently, and went to check out the old big rack shop. The girls there were only OK, and a bit on the chubby side, but since I was in the area, I went to give a general review. It has thinned out a bit and one shop that I once saw a really cute one was closed (make a mental note to myself, dont let the really cute ones go, thinking that one can come back later; life is short). Anyway, a tour found a cute girl with a stellar rack: I admit I am a sucker for a great rack. She was short with a nice cute face and solid D cup+ named Zhang SanSan, 21 years old.
