Hotel El Rancho and Alicia Beach are cash only -- appx 60 a day.

They are both clean but a little outdated.Alicia Beach indeed is cash only.

The room was okay, the breakfast was excellent. The receptionist speaks Russian.

I was surprised how few customers brought ladies back to the hotel, and how few ladies walked by the hotel. It's a little bit off the main drag.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Alicia Beach and I was very happy with that choice. Good price, around $60 a night, and cash only, but a very decent property, comfortable room and bed, solid A / see and hot water and TV and internet WIFI. Nice little dining room for breakfast and good security at the front desk. Very nice staff. I will definitely stay there again someday.

Hi Everyone,

Anyone know hotels in Sosua with fast and stable WiFi? Looking for something up to 50 Mbps that I can tunnel through a VPN and still have enough bandwidth for work.

Right near the main drag and around the corner of Bailey's. You go there after dark and the restaurant is full of hoe's. Sit in the direction of the bathroom and they'll pass in front of you giving a free line up as you slurp your dessert.

Hi Everyone,

New Garden should also be OK but can be quite distracting if you want to work with all the chicas hanging around.

Hi, thank you for your response, do you know the wifi works well in the rooms, or just the common areas?Another very late reply, sorry about that. I measured this from one of the rooms in the ground floor near the pool.

Given the current news, may be plan slightly differently.

I was curious about how much the rates was going after the crackdown. Hotel Checo was literally like $31 a night! Almost all the hotels offered discounts some was huge while others were not so much.

Checo is a dump, they couldn't pay me 100 bucks a night to stay in that shit hole.I remember walking by when it was the Romanoff. I think it gradually became dilapidated and then became a chica hotel. Then under new management it became the Checo, and it was spruced up. But the problem is going to be that it is an old building which means it probably has really old plumbing and wiring. Things you cannot fix with just some paint and a few new cheap bedframes. I have heard that they often had no water, and I wonder if they have a generator for the constant power outages.

Those are just my thoughts as I have no first hand experience there.

Been a long time since I posted here. Will be going to Sosua in January, after a year's hiatus.

Planning for a visit to Sousa in December, never been to DR and first timer but heard about it and seen few YouTube videos. Primary purpose is hobby and looking for ideal location to stay with near by action. Planning to fly in Puerto Plata Airport (POP) and take a cab. Reading this forum, I can sum up following seems to be the obvious choices. Please help me what would be ideal spot for a 2 or 3 nights stay. I don't need great wifi or very quiet room but looking to score some nice chicas. Below is what I could short list in no particular order.

1) Sousa Inn Hotel.

2) Hotel El Rancho Sousa.

3) Alicia Beach Hotel.

4) Hotel Sea Breeze.

5) Casa Valeria Boutique Hotel.

Thank you in advance.

I'm looking at heading down in the spring. My preference is always Airbnb over hotels. Does anyone have any recommendations on neighborhoods or areas to look at or to stay away from as it relates to safety and opportunity to take advantage of the hobby?
