Request for advice.
Fellows, has any of you ever used President Solitaire. Is this a fine GF hotel?
It's a very fine guest friendly hotel. I posted about it in April:
Update on President Solitaire
I've never tried walking to Nana, but I imagine it would take 20-30 minutes. But you can easily get a taxi in front of the PS (the doorman will summon one for you). The hotel also has a free tuk-tuk that will take you to Suk Rd and that would make it about a 10 minute walk to Nana.
The Solitaire Suites are very good value for money, but the Platinum come with a multi-person jacuzzi, which is nice, and the girls love it.
I can't offer much advice on NEP - it's not my scene.

How long away fro Nana Plaza is it located, is it possible to walk?
I expect to book the Solitaire room, is that good value for money?
Any advice will be welcomed. Couldent find anything in the folder about this hotel.

Got only one night at Nana Plaza, guys where do I have to go?President Solitaire is at the end of Soi 11 and is very girl friendly. They look at you funny if you don't bring a girl back. It is possible to walk to Nana Plaza but I would recommend taking a taxi for 35 baht instead. During the day, they have free tuk tuks. I stayed there a year and a half ago and prices were a lot less but rooms are pretty nice.
Nana plaza isn't really my scene but I usually got to Angel Witch or the Rainbow bars. Have fun with your one night.

One night only - start at the Nana Plaza Hotel parking lot - if you RTTF you'll know and understand exactly why this recommendation.

Ones that I know of are: Above the entrance to Nana Plaza on Soi 4; above the Soi 21 entrance to Soi Cowboy; a few doors from Eden Club on Soi 7/1 (Star Inn?).
But you will surely find more from doing a site search. A how-to guide is provided The Traveler two posts below yours.
Thumbs up for the new Dynasty Inn Grande. They are on the same level as 4 stars and some 5 star hotels, actually they’re similar to the Majestic Grande, but I found the food in the restaurant to be better. They have promotional rates going on right now until October. GF hotel but they are still building the gym, free transfer to Pattaya if you stay in the Dynasty Hotel there. Lots of complementary and promotional offers since they are new including the girl but only for the first night ;)

Bro's,
I will be travelling to LOS in a few weeks and my friend has booked to come too. Only problem is that he has is GF in tow!!! Yikes I know, but we plan to meet up whilst we're both in Bangaz and see how far we can get without her catching him :D They have both never been before and have no idea what is going to hit them but he is still partial to the ol' P4P.
My request is (hopefully not too lazy but a search is not very practical) for suggestions of decent hotels for them to book into which are not slap bang on soi 4, yet not all the way out to the airport or Khao sarn either. I would say mid range budget, so not looking at the 5* but they dont want to be staying in star of light's ST rooms either! Bare in mind they are newbees and I will be trying to direct them to places we can meet which will include the usual haunts of Nana & cowboy.
Hope this aint too general. PMs most welcome unless it will benefit the board.
cheers
Sid
Mate, come on, if he's coming with his GF he doesn't want a GF hotel, to even contemplate dragging something back to your own hotel would be a very bad idea !
Athene Plaza is nice and central but away from the dross, 4* though, and off the skytrain. Novotel Siam Square (3-4*) might be better, stacks of shopping centres for her, but easy to get to the bars for him and on the skytrain (short walk). Amari Watergate is nice, although off the skytrain and also 4*.
Mid range and central, but not in the midst of Sukhumvit, a little more difficult, probably want to look at places in soi 24, soi 22, Rembrandt is nice 3-4*, if you want really budget and out the way from naughty, you could try the Rex around Sukhumvit Thonglor some where i think.
Asia Lodge is a nice budget place (1,200/night) down the end of soi 8 though.
Personally if they can afford approx 3,000 baht a night i would suggest Novotel Siam Square, shops will keep her busy and your on the BTS. If they do a package deal from the UK, they will get this hotel for much less.

What about the new Holiday Inn at Chid Lom BTS Station? Right next to the Gaysorn Building for shopping, World Trade Center. Close to Siam Square and Central Department Store and if they want upscale entertainment: Spaso's. Reasonable rates also.
Giotto, please forgive me for not thinking of Livingstones earlier. Sid Livingstones is ideal, Soi 33 is hi end, so the girls are not so in your face in the soi, and definetly not so in the daytime, the soi is close to Emporium and the BTS, and the hotel, well, we both know the excellent standards, facilities and staff, and the price (without jacuzzi) is more than reasonable.
Livinstones is a must for your buddy and his GF mate.
Giotto, please forgive me for not thinking of Livingstones earlier. ...Meaty,
LOL, thanks, that looks as if I had send a PM to you...
But please remember, there are girls working here in our bar. And if you leave Livingstone's after 7 pm in the nights you see many hostesses sitting outside in front of their bar / Japaneses karaoke - that might offend some regular GFs .
The Davis in Soi 26 has good introduction / low season prices in the moment, and the area is "clean" - that might be an option.

Meaty, mate,
I meant farang girl friendly. Not working girl friendly. Friendly as in the criteria I described in the rest of the post. Sorry if this was misleading.
Sid
Ps, theyre coming from Beijing not the uk.
Meaty,
LOL, thanks, that looks as if I had send a PM to you...Giotto
WOW, definetly no PM received, i think most bro's know you wouldn't do that, and hopefully also know i wouldn't write anything just to make you happy !!
Apparently the GF is of Eastern Eurpoean decent, and a seasoned Asia traveller, so i think the over sensitivity of location may not be as needed as we first thought !
Davis is a nice option though, but when i was last there (2yrs ago) i felt the place had a high end MP feel to it rather than a hotel !

If you're concerned with Livingtone's, suggest: Novotel Lotus on Soi 33. It's a business hotel, quite nice, good rate with buffet breakfast and just a stone's throw from Giotto and action.
If you hang a right from front door, it goes to Sukhumvit and Emporium is a block away.
But most important, 'respectable hotel' and won't get your friend in trouble. But book early, usually quite full. Giotto might be able to help...or pm me to make you booking through my Bkk office (but then I need a real name, cc, ec.).
Sid, in my book, the only possible choice is the Pathumwan princess. it is the place I use when the other half is in town with me. Literally attached to MBK, 5 minutes to the sky train, GF, but certainly not in your face, great pool, great buffet breakfast. Considering what you are looking for, this is a no brainer. The girls can spend hours at MBK, and get a massage, while you and your boy go off to get your own massage.
Done deal.
I am feeling so benevolent, I am even giving you a link.

This site is better than any travel agent Ive ever used! I can just imagine going into a shop back home to book a holiday. "Hi sir, I would like to go to bangkok with the missus. Can you book me a hotel which is close enough to the shopping malls so that I can ditch her through the day and go out mongering with my mates!!!" LOL
See y'all soon :D

Old monger, normally Ambassador, Nana, or Majestic but last time tried Giotto.
Now thinking of hanging out for a month in Bkk. Anyone have any experience staying at the Star Suites Executive Apartments, 81 Sukhumvit, Soi 15, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok.
Negative or postive, girlfriendly or a rip off, all comments are appreciated.

I have the Victory Executive Residence booked from 7th to 23rd October in a one bed appt. Looks good on the web site, they say that they will put me in a refurbished room on the upper floors if they are ready by then.
Has anyone else stayed there. Got any comments?. looking for GF (obviously) but also advice as to cleanliness etc.
Hi all,
I just wonder did anyone stay in grand sukhumvit by sofitel which locate at Soi 6 ? How's the hotel and is it girl friendly hotel?
I try to book the grande majestic at soi 2 but was inform fully book. cheers..
EZ,
I did a month at Star Suites a couple of years ago. Good manager (Mr. Raj), returned the deposit the day before checking out. Very friendly staff all the way around. Security even rushed up w/ umbrellas when I pulled up in a taxi with 3 guests during a downpour.
PM if you want more info.

Is this different that Dynasty Inn Bangkok ? How far is it from the action ? TIADynasty and Dynasty Grande are separate hotels presumably with the same owners. To get to Dynasty Grande from the original Dynasty keeping walking down Soi 4 away from Sukhumvit Rd and take the first left which turns into Soi 6. It's a 2 - 3 minute walk between the two.
It's newer, nicer and has a pool. If you like the Soi 4 location it's unbeatable for the price.
Hello Gentlemen
I have read this thread and narrowed my next BKK stay to either the Omni apartments or the Majestic suites. I used to stay at the Royal Asia Lodge but lately their rooms have really been going down hill. I figure it is time to try somewhere else. This I already know, the Omni is not really a hotel, the rooms at the Majestic are really small, the Omni cost more, the Majestic has free(?) wireless internet access, etc. But I still can't decide on a hotel. Can anyone help with a tie breaker? Does anyone have any more info on these two places that might help me make up my mind?

As I said, room is a little run down but definitely GFE, need to swipe card to enter entrance to elevator, guard on duty to protect you and your friends.
I think the joiner fee kicks in after 8:00 p.m. The lobby staff requires that your extra guest leave their ID card at the front desk and pick it up in the morning. I think the fee was 400B? Kind of give you a good sense of security. I was there in Dec.
When I was there, I noted that the lobby employees had about 10 ID cards in her draw.
If you don't plan on bringing a guest home every night. It's not so bad. It's a 5 to 10 minute walk to Nana Plaza and a 15 minute walk to Biergarden.
Always try selecting a girl at night and ask them to come over ST in the morning for a quickie.

How girlfriendly is this hotel? Is it any good?
The location would make me thing this is a girlfriendly place. Right across NEP near at sukhumvit soi2
The part about wireless access got me to thinking -
Anybody know which BKK hotels have WIRED internet? I specifically need WIRED (security issues for login) - wireless just WON'T WORK. I can go to a cafe but in-room is more convenient

Dinghy,
deluxe rooms at the Taipan do have wired internet access.
I am contemplating a return to BKK later this month so while looking around, this link hit me: http://www.bangkoksuite.com/. The 700B rate for double rooms and the free wifi internet for guests with their own laptops really caught my eye. Not sure I would consider this place, it's probably a newish dump, so to speak. And it's on Petchaburi by the expressway. Still, does anyone know it?

Virtually all the five-star Suk hotels have wired Internet access (mostly you pay, but it varies from hotel to hotel and depends on what kind of deal you get, it's a free perk under some room rates.) I do know the President Solitaire has free wired access in the room.

This info may be of interest to any members considering staying at the Grand Buisiness Inn in the near future.
After reading good reports about this hotel on this and other Thailand related boards, I contacted the hotel to enquie about room availability and rates for my upcoming first trip to LOS.
In reply to my e-mail I recieved a message from the hotel which included the following paragraph:
"For your information, the adjoining building has construction work going
on from 09.00 am to 7.00 pm. therefore during the day time it will be very
very noisy which we thought was important to inform you prior to your
arrival. "
Since I've no intention of being awake much before midday, this was a deal breaker for me but I've got to give the hotel top marks for honesty.
I have stayed at the Grand Business Inn earlier this year and the noise was quiet bad due to the construction work being carried out, but it was demolition work. I also emailed the hotel and they sent the same reply to me, but also mentioned that it is no longer demolition work so it should not be as noisy as before. I am supposed to be staying there in the next couple of weeks, does anyone have first hand recent experience of how bad or not the noise is at the hotel now.
Thanks.

Anybody know which BKK hotels have WIRED internet? I specifically need WIRED (security issues for login) - wireless just WON'T WORK. I can go to a cafe but in-room is more convenientEven Town Lodge has. But not in the room, there it is wireless. The have a small computer room in the lobby, where you can plug into the router. You need to pay 100 Baht per stay (no matter how many days). Or you can use their computer, which I have set up. When you reboot it, all confidential records are gone. The management asked me to do that, in order to avoid problems by people possibly downloading illegal stuff. (The software to achieve that is called winrollback)
I will be visiting Bangkok next month, and our Company has a policy of getting Service Apartments rather than hotel rooms, since we need to call in our clients sometimes. The names put up are Admiral Suites, Windsor Suites, Somerset Lake (All on Sukhumvit I believe) and Veronica Residence (in Ratchada). Having RTFF with great interest, I would like comments from you senior pros as to them being suitable for mongering – sadly, they will not agree to Majestic Suites!! Do you have any better suggestions – what is Omni Tower like? I am a first-timer and keen to mix as much pleasure with work as possible.

stayed in livingstones’s following some of the promotion here, the website etc.
my adventures out of that ate in the thailand thread:
part 1: http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=494717&postcount=1121
part 2: http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=494720&postcount=1122
i can say from my experience:
it’s the way i like it. i like the setup, i like the atmosphere, the rooms, the food, the girls.
livingstone’s is at sukhumvit soi 33 (details see website and giotto’s thread). a 50 baht trip from soi 7 and a 35 baht trip from soi 23 at night. from the airport about 200-250 baht at night. my taxi driver easily fond soi 33, but livingstone’s is in 2nd row. so first the taxi driver didn’t notice and me neither. had to go drive back, but then i found.
i had a superior room which sums up for about 3000 baht / night incl. all taxes. in the superior is a jacuzzi, my one had even a double jacuzzi, fitting 2 people as the name says. (gues in a ‘single’ jacuzzi will also fit 2 people). the jacuzzi is a great plus for your mongering activities, if you like more longtime then short time, as more or less all girls you bring in like it. a great additional piece of enjoyment. girls like water! and playing in the water! and that can turn out very beneficial for you!
for the time when you don't play with girls, but with computer, the high speed internet is included. didn't make a speed test, but used it for skype etc.
as the place is set up for us mongers, there is of course no issue bringing girls in. you do, as you like. you come and go, as you like. there is always somebody all night (decent) around in case you would need any help. in the morning you can decide to bring your girl to breakfast or not. breakfast you can get probably also after noon (don’t know the limit). extra breakfast is 200 baht. no issue for me. i like to take breakfast with my girls of the night.
from about starting 18°° they have their own girls which you can barfine. the girls are a good mix of several testes, but all on the prettier site. a lot of cuties and a higher portion can speak english. difficult is as in every bar to change girls after you once took one to your room. so the girl you had one night automatically will expect to be the ‘default’ when you come next. but that is what happens in all bars. here it is a bit more sad, as the number if nice girls being so cute is rather high. but its up to you to make it clear. maybe with some nice words and a ladydrink as well for the ‘old’ one and you can come out rather charming. didn’t do this, but next time i will try this ‘gentle’ way.
sometimes you need to listen carefully what the girls say, because there are a few girls who can’t or won’t go out with customers. they are asked by the house rules to tell that rather in the beginning (before you probably ‘invest’ in several ladydrinks). i just hit one of this girls and yes she said something, but i misunderstood the rolling english. so some short disappointment after i couldn’t barfine her. but that was just bad luck and i wasn’t prepared for the theme. but found good replacement later (see my report in bangkok section).
barfines are higher then in the lower sukhumvit area (1500 baht before 23:00h and 1.000 baht after). so waiting for 23:00h makes sense. 1000 are ok for me respecting the quality of the girls, but 1500 creates some natural hesitation.
but you are not limited here and there is also no ‘psychological’ pressure to take the own girls. you can bring in who ever you like. if you like to communicate, you can chat with the owner (giotto) and if he has time he might show you around and also recommends other places. some good advise you can get this way, especially if you are new. could take his offer only once, the rest we had agreed that i call him at night, but mostly i was already busy with some ‘selection’.
but who can’t find girls in bangkok can’t find them anywhere in the world.
one additional to mention: you can have great meals in livingstone’s. didn’t have thai food, but had steak and had 2 fresh fish (thai style – so thai food as well-corrected) with some girls i invited. delicious. reasonable pricing for that. the restaurant has probably some sections, for the different type of foods, following the website, but in praxis you order where you just are and eat where you like. the best is around the pool with view to some girls.
overall, the next time i come to thailand i will stay here again. i like the place and the setup, the different then others style and of course the bubbling water in the jacuzzis which make so much fun for and with the girls.
enclosed are some pictures i did myself. but similar are on the website.

Scratch the Windsor off your list.
If someone else is paying, and it needs to be a "suite", then I would suggest the President Solitaire. A quick search will give you all the info. Don't be turned off by "how far it is from Suk", it reall isn't, and they have a little tuk tuk shuttle.
Nice place.

Hello all,
I just wanted to get feedback on this hotel, this is not the dynasty grand inn , just dynasty inn bkk. I read through this whole thread and saw a couple of mention of them but couldn't make it if it is ok or not. I tried booking at Majestic suite but they are over booked on the dates I am wanting, so I need to find a hotel close to Nana. Nana hotel is also fully booked. The worabuir inn is another option but heard it was not that good. Grand business inn sounds good but is a bit far. The dynasty grand is a bit expenisive though, 1800 b.
What I want to know about the dynasty inn bk is:
1. does it have in room safe?
2. how clean is it? ie, any bugs / ants?
3. any security issues?
Thanks

the last time I walk past the hotel while staying at the Dynasty Inn Grande, the dynasty inn was closed. I guess it was undergoing renovation or something. Dynasty Inn Grande is no longer available at Bhat1,800/night for superior room. It is Bhat2,200/night.They also have deluxe room at Bhat2,680/night. However I suggest forumers not to take the deluxe room as it is similar to superior room but with some additional furnitures.
you are better off at Grand Business Inn which is on soi 11 and really not that far from Nana. It is clean and has free wireless.
Dynasty Inn does not have in room safe, they have security guards and the rooms are ok, regulars doors with standard keys, rooms are dark and sort of dingy, probably comparable to Nana. They are undergoing renovation so you have to enter the alley and throught the back way, which is where the receptionist area is now. I only stayed there one night and did not see any bugs/ants but I wouldn't recommend it for any type of extended stay.

Search 'Omni', i posted back in Sept/Oct/Nov 05 (?) with full details.
To all WSG members:
It happened recently at the Royal Parkview Hotel at Sukumvhit Soi 20. When I went out at night and returned to my room with a young lady, my laptop, electronic agenda, and various other things had been stolen out of my suitcase in the room. The hotel security took extra time to hold me up at the reception, and when I headed to my floor, a suspicious hotel security guy was checking when I would arrive and disappeared immediatly when I exited the elevator.
The Hotel staff was not helpful, neither at night nor in the morning. The only manager who tried to help me, was fired after one week (he works now at another hotel).
I reported immediately to the police made a report, but did not take any action. The owner and GM of the Hotel, Mr. Chachawan, was very unfriendly and not cooperative. He denied any theft and hang up the phone several times even when I told him about police acctions.
Through local influencial friends I was told that the Royal Parkview Hotel is located in the area of one of the Mafia organisations in BKK and that the police will not take any action in this area. We checked also with the hotel's insurance company and they told us that this hotel is suibject to frequent thefts in the rooms and that the insurance company does not pay anymore any claims from this hotel since they have been neglecting their advice for improving security .
Through various incidences and obseravtions I am convinced that it is the hotel own security staff which has prepared keys for certain rooms and steels valuables in the rooms when guests are out at night.
I will never stay at this hotel again!
Best regards,

Acerboy,
Dynasty Inn Grande is still running their special until the end of August so the rooms are still 1800B. I am staying here now had to go down to the front desk when I read this to ensure I would be paying the 1800B per night as they had quoted me when I booked the room, still not a bad deal when the rates go up 1 Septemeber though.
the last time I walk past the hotel while staying at the Dynasty Inn Grande, the dynasty inn was closed.
Can any veteran please tell me if this hotel is central to the action? Is this too nice of a hotel for Bankok if I am coming for one reason and one reason only; mongering? Pros/cons?
Thanks in advance.

It's a good hotel, 4 - 5 stars, girlfriendly, close to Soi Cowboy (you can walk there). 15 min to walk to Soi Nana.
The only disadvantage I know about is that the lobby is somewhere in the upper floors of the building, so you have to use 2 elevators to get to your room. There is a long walk of shame, if that is something you care about.

Has anyone stayed at the Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel on Ratchadaphisek Road? I appreciate any comment you have on this hotel, particularly if it is girlfriendly.

You have to actually go out of the hotel to the street in front to find any action. Is that too far? As for the policy of allowing girls in your room, that I don't know. But I would assume given the location that you wouldn't be the first to take a girl to their room
If you want a cheep place to stay that has a great location, try the Sukhumwith 1 plaza guesthouse, this is just up the street from NEP and opposite the now demolished Soi Zero bars. This is a combined ST and LT hotel, located on the third floor of the building. The bottom and first floor houses some bars, the second floor are the hotel and the third is housing a disco. The bars are usually pretty quiet because not many mongers seem to know about this place, however there are some talent to be found here.
When you enter the lobby on the second floor the ST rooms are to the right and costs 350BHT, the LT rooms are to the left and cost 650BHT per night. The rooms are big and nice with king size bed, Sony TV and in room safe box. The shower works fine with good water pressure and temperature, something that can be really bad in some cheap hotels. The only disadvantage is that many of the rooms do not have any windows and they can be a bit noisy in the evening because of the bars below and the disco upstairs, but it was not so bad and did not bother me.
The best thing staying here is that if you are lazy you can just go downstairs and make your selection. Some bars usually stay open late, well beyond 2AM.
I attach a scan of there business card, their webpage is absolutely crap but at least you can see what the room looks like.

For REAL LUXURY, try the Emporium Serviced Apartments: http://www.emporiumsuites.com/ Their monthly rate is quite nice for what you get, but for shorter stays, their cost is comparable to a small suite at the Marriott or Westin.
If that's outside your budget, The Grottino Apartments are nice, but they do not have a pool and spa like the Emporium Apartments do: http://www.grottino.com/Residence.aspx
There was some inconclusive discussion last October about whether Tai-Pan Hotel is GF or not. Looking at locale near Soi Cowboy I would be surprised if it is not but can anyone confirm?
Viper10,
There are ample of choices of high quality condos that are much cheaper but of comparable quality to five star hotels.
I have stayed at the Emporium several times; I wrote a report about it on 08-28-04 at 12:50 in the hotel forum. Emporium has a great location but the place is overpriced. Only the Grand Deluxe Room and up have a separate shower cubicle.
The best quality/price place IMHO is Somerset Lake Point. Big swimming pool, apartment with everything (large fridge, washing/dryer machine, separate shower cubicle etc.). A bit off the Sukhumvit but free tuktuk service.
Other upscale places are Fraser Place Serviced Residence, Conrad's apartments, Mayfair Marriot Apartments, and the Ascott. You can find many more at asiatravel.com.
Hope that helps.

The Platinum Suites at the President Solitaire on Suk Soi 11 are a great upscale choice - huge 2-room suites with full kitchen, TV in both the sitting/work room and the bedroom (42" flatscreen with DVD player), free Internet access and multi-person jacuzzi. Pool, spa and a very decent restaurant in-house. Extremely girl friendly, great service staff. TGs love the place. Only downside is the location. It's not smack in the middle of the action, but it isn't a problem. There's complementary tuk-tuk or van service during the day to Robinson's (right by the Westin Grande) or the BTS station and taxis are readily available at night. Do a thread search for President Solitaire and you'll turn up more info. Price is about the same as Emporium Suites.

RazzI stayed there twice for extended periods in 2002 - 2003 before buying a condo. I enjoyed it very much having had a large one bedroom on the 34th floor both times.
Currently I have several friends who have lived there for years and what they tell me is not so great. The place is now over run with tennants from the Middle East and should be renamed; The Dubai International Tower. The management has slowly let the place run down due a money problem. Most of the A/C units are old and do not work as well as they should. The fitness room is a zoo with rude guests and only one cardio machine. Of course you can always get your cardio tranning the same way I did in my bed with a beautiful Thai lady. You cannot use the pool unless you are willing to share with 12-15 wild Arab children being overlooked by 4 adults who don't mind looking at Thai girls in bathing suits too.
The location is great for NEP but if you want to go elsewhere there are taxi's available or a short walk to the BTS.
If you need an impressive place to meet your clients I would look elsewhere.

I too, can recommend President Solitaire.
It is truly gf-friendly. large suites, all with 42" tv dvd and HBO + all the other channels. The beds are four poster beds - great for gymnastics. OK Pool, and own tuk-tuk service to Bumrungrad, BTS (nana) and Robinson, which covers three directions.
Choose a "sensation" package, which includes airport transfer. Its always great to beat the taxi crowd, when your ride is right there holding up your name.

I have started compiling a list of hotels in Suk area. The list is far from complete as it was taken travel companies and other sites. The list contains the name, the nearest Soi, Star rating and GF or not. This, I am sure, is an incomplete list and would like inputs from you to correct and/or fill in the missing info. I have attached the list as an PDF file (you need Adobe reader, free from http://www.adobe.com).
Once the list is complete it would stop people asking common questions and make it easier for newbies and oldtimers alike to find a hotel. I haven't put in prices as it keeps changing but as a rough guide consider 3 Stars around 900-1400B/day to 5 stars at 4,500 - 6000+ B/day.
As for free Wi-fi Access a list is in Stickman's site.
Appreciate your help.

Duni,
Add the Dynasty Grande, Soi 6, 3.5*, GF
And the JW Marriott, Majestic Grande, and Majestic Suites are all GF
You also have some hotels listed twice, with different information:
Grand President, Majestic Grande, and the Davis are listed twice that I saw.

add: Grottino Residences: Soi 19, 3*, GF
I wanted to write and thank the forum for all their advice about condos/hotels. I really appreciate it.

Duni,
Any chance that you could eventually post the list as an Excel file? I only ask because it's easier to fit onto my PDA. I realise I'm being fussy and appologise, but I keep a copy of 11 Bravo's Dubai Hotel List at hand whenever I think of booking a hotel in that fair city. He's got a good, workable system to tell which are GF friendly. Green for Friendly, Yellow if you need copy of passport or the staff are awkward and Red for 'Avoid' or unfriendly.
Just my 2c.
Thanks for the list. I'm sure I'll be using it in the not-too-distant future.
Cheers

Thanks for the info, but I personally don't need it - I just think that it's worth including in this list. IMHO, the database should include NON GF hotels as well, as a resource to aid travellers in avoiding them as they need to. In particular, alot of travel agents use the Royal Benja in package deals, and many of our unsuspecting brothers might get snagged by it.
I'd much rather have the information, so I know what to do about it, than to be left in a situation of uncertainty.
I would also vote for an Excel file as far preferrable to an Acrobat file.

Here's a report on the Westin hotel:

If it is not in your budget, try looking in asiarooms.com for hotels you can afford in the Sukhumvit area. They are listed by price and by area. Then do a search for that hotel in the forum to find out if it is GF. Air Con Taxis are cheap in BKK and everywhere all night long. The Skytrain is clean, safe and cheap, but it shuts down after midnight. Unless you absolutely have to be within steps of Soi Cowboy, find a GF hotel that meets your budget and take a taxi to Soi Cowboy. Many times I have walked from Nana to Soi Cowboy and there are hundreds of available FL girls at the many food stalls along the way.

Royal Asia Paradise - the location on Sukh 8 seems good, but is it run-down?

Producer,
Thanks for the info on Somerset Lake Point. Just a couple of quick questions:
How does the free tuk-tuk service work on the way back, or is it just outbound - in which case, is it easy to get back?
Their room rate includes breakfast, but do they have a restaurant/bar at other times? Room service?
Last and most important, is it GF?
Thanks for any further inputs you may have.

Tuk-Tuk service is outbound, normally to Emporium. Walking is a no-go as Soi 16 is very long and twisted. Getting back by taxi was never a problem. Just make sure the taxi makes the "right turn" to the left when coming from Asoke (I think), otherwise, you pass by Queen Sirikit Convention Center for a long U-turn. The only time the location can be a problem is during heavy rain / flooding because the traffic will clog the road and no taxi will be available. But the same happens when you stay for example at President Park or any other place down a soi.
Eating places: Breakfast always included basic Western stuff and 2-3 Thai style hot dishes, as well as fruits, omlette etc. They always had one restaurant in the complex but the style/theme changed often. There is also a minmart open until 21:00 I think. Around the corner, (50m) there is an upscale restaurant that seemed always heavily frequented.
GF: I've stayed there with my gf. However, I've seen several times people with BGs as well as groups of school girls showing up for a "date". I'd say "gf" therefore.
Reason why I stayed there often: Huge swimming pool (outdoor), even the small apartments have all features (fully fitted kitchen, VCD/stereo player, TVs, marble bathroom, separate shower cubicle, washing machine, dryer etc.). Getting the same features at Emporium means going there for a Grand Deluxe Room for about 8000 Baht. Last time at Somerset I got a one-bedroom 65sqm room for about 2500 Baht.
.....

In a serviced residence I would do a natural assumption that this should be GF.
The concept is basically an appartment like you could rent everywhere, but furnished and additionally serviced in some way of a hotel. Usually they target long staying guests, even if they might do exceptions. But a non GF friendly serviced residence would be no option for me and not in my expectation. You should probably not go with your BG to the morning breakfast which is usually for registered guests and better prefer room service instead.

who only knows serviced residences in other Cities.
From my experience, it depends on the place. If GF means no hassle, this doesn't apply to serviced residences per se. The more upscale the serviced residence, the more concerned is management about its clientele. A serviced residence is not like a Western apartment building where you can do more or less what you want within your apartment. Upscale serviced residences have "house rules", such as "no cloths to be hanged on the balcony, no changing of furniture, all guests on the premises have to be registered etc." and these rules are enforced, politely but with determination. If you stay in a place like Ascott or Fraser, you will quickly notice that most long-term guests are expat families. For one, management will make sure that these good clients will not be embarrassed by short staying guests walking around with hookers. On the other hand, in such a place, you might feel misplaced yourself if you go for breakfast with your BG and find yourself surounded by families with kids and business people looking at you in a particular way. I had an escort in Manila at Fraser for 4 days (see Manila section for a report about Fraser); registration was required but then no problem at all as she was decently dressed and not behaving like a BG.
Going back to Somerset Lakepoint: It's a quality place, in the middle class serviced residence market. From what I've seen, it's GF but as in any other place, one should tell the sales agent that the room must be good for 2. I've always paid the same regardless of 1 or 2 people staying there, breakfast always included. I could imagine that Somerset Lakepoint is even more lax these days as they certainly experience market pressure; too many new serviced residence buildings and Lakepoint is a bit off the main road, making it less attractive to short-term guests with no own transportation.

Any presidents group property will do fine.
Soi 24's Presidents park (little drive but very nice)
Soi 11's grand president
Soi 11 (deep) Presidents solitaire (very nice)
Theres mores so take a look online.
I have stayed at all of them and am considering grand presidents for 1 month in November (Royal suite) 63,000 baht (im on vacation, and being paid)
I have walked in and found some cheaper rates than online!

I stayed there about 18 months ago. Didn't look at any rooms in the main building, but the public areas were worn out (top deck mini-swimming pool being the best/worst example of this. I stayed in one of the new suites which was in the brand new block next door. The suite was huge, but so new that it hadn't been properly commissioned. Some appliances, such as the room safe were installed but not up and running. But everything was clean and new and it all cost me about 1750bt per night. This place is also girl-friendly to the max. The male receptionist congratulated me on my taste and luck when I turned up with twins (photos posted in the 2005 photo thread) one night :D

Thank youCS,
From Dynasty keep going down Soi 4 and take the first road on the left. I think there's an internet place on the corner and a couple of bars next to it such as the Alex bar.
The DIG is 100m down on the right. It's a couple of minutes walk from the original Dynasty.

Me and me mate stayed in this cheap doss house http://www.hotelthailand.com/bangkok/theblooms/index.html which is quite near the soapies, massage parlous and what not. As you can see, it is quite cheap but we left it to get back for the Premiership kick off. If the Dons finish in the top six, I promise I will be back here quicker than shit off a shovel.
There is no joiner fee and we took lots of hookers up for gang bangs. We also checked out Livingstone’s but too many rats and drunks hanging around. Nana Plaza was all ladyboys and we like the quiet life. I think it is important to get the hookers away from the usual haunts so then you can go to town on them, making them do all the kinky stuff.
You can book the Blooms on line. There are some Thai hookers advertising on line too but they charge way over the odds. My advice is to book on line, check in, shower and then hit Sukumvit or the massage parlours at the witching hour. Flash money when you decide on your mark, be slow to leave to make sure you have the right one and then bring her back. It helps to have a mate as this allows you to screw more. It also makes them randier as they know their pussies are going to get a good hammering. Also, a small tip to the reception goes a long way. There are plenty of places to top up on Cialis.

So are you promoting Blooms? Not sure if I would stay there, rooms too small and not close to Suk. which i prefer. And WTF is Premiership and Dons?
Duniawala: I am from Liverpool where football is more important than life. I am a Toffees supporter but I have some involvement with the Dons, both football teams. Now, as United won 5-1 today, I am not a happy camper. Still, we did ok yesterday.
Yeah, I mentioned Blooms in the AW thread and how suprised I was to see the news it got. Lots of sahdy shit hanging out in Thailand.
Blooms did us ok. We preferred Pattaya. Cheaper, more pussy, more beer, no comparison. Next time I will skip Bangkok altogether.
For the guy looking for cheap Pattaya with aircon, try Soi 8. Boyztown or across 2nd Road. Down by the opgs Bollox is expensive as it is too near the sea. Soi 8 is noisy but makes a good base to work from if beer and pussy is your game. Nice, cheap grub there too, shepherd's pie, chips etc.
The place where John Karr, prime suspect in Jon Benet murder case, stayed for the last two years. Courtsey: CNN News.
Is also the place where me and my mate and the ladies we fucked stayed for three nights. But we weren't looking for sex change operations. Hope he enjoyed the prawn sandwich on the fought back to LA. I wonder ho they guard fuckers like him when he goes to the jacks or do they have special nappies for him like on the rendition flights.
Blooms is ok if you want to be Jack the lad. Like any cheap place, you will get strange customers. John Karr will not be going there again for a very long time.
On a related note, many previous posters said getting work in Thailand was hard. But Karr had no problems getting work, only holding on to it. He must be one real sick sad fucker.
Based on the feedback recd. here is the latest listing. Please feel free to add/modify. Hope it helps. For a local Suk area map there are other sites, but will try to come up with one in the next few days. Attachment in .pdf and .doc format.
I would want to add Baan Sukhumvit to your list. A very nice theme hotel between Soi 18 and 20 in the back of the small alley. Slightly more expensive than Town Lodge, but more quiet now (Since the Condo construction next to Town Lodge) and closer to the action, only 100m from Suk.
i had a pm asking whether in fact novotel lotus and omni were non gf. since i have not stayed in all the hotels (4 to be exact) i am depending on feedbacks from you guys. that's how the list was compiled. things may change over time and it is your input which determines the list.
definition of gf - hotel does not question you taking any tgs to your room. however, they may ask the for the girls id. this protects you in case of some problems. also they may alert you if they are **** or in some cases you have taken up with a lb.
non gf - the hotel definitely will prohibit you from taking a tg to the room. also, hotels which charge you a joiner fee. in some cases, hotels may waive this charge if you have registered as double occupancy.
star rating - 1-3* - under $40 usd, 3-4* around 40-60 usd, 4-5* usd60-150 +.
star ratings are not exact. it is just a rough guide to cost and ambience.
i would also suggest downloading the word document and add to it, and perhaps re-post with new info.
Guys,
Great to see Chelsea get their arses kicked last night. Anyway, I see some of the newbies to Thailand are trying to compile lists of girl friendly hotels and uploading their lists here in the www unfriendly PDF format. No need to as it has already been done by experts on this free site. Sanukmaps simply gives locations of fuck and suck friendly kips and is not in competition with this site or any others.
For specific queries, maybe ask The Traveler or someone who knows.
I have a question to ask on knee replacement surgery. (One of the lads has kicked too much ball and his knee is totally fucked). I was thinking of Bumrungrad but the chance of a fuck up might be too high. If anyone knows a LOT about this area, please let me know.
Here is a taster. Let's hope it uploads. As you can hopefully see, lots of gf places.

I don't know a LOT about this subject; but, a lot of people come from the U.S. and other countries to have hip and knee replacement at Bumrungrad. The main reason is cost. It's about 1/3 the cost of the U.S. if you don't have insurance.

It's out of date. A tourist map combined with Duni's up-to-date list is a better option.
All services at this hospital are at or near the state of the art. It is one of the most advanced hospitals in the world.
That said, there is a risk involved in ANY surgery, regardless of the setting.
The choice of a surgeon to do the operation is most important. Carefully screen the doctor and choose one with lots of successful history doing what you want done.
Also, while BRR uses the most up to date infection control regimes available, easily up to the standards of the best US hospitals, hospital aquired infections can still occur here and can be very dangerous. The danger is greater at most second level hospitals in the west however.
Terry Terrier, The map is part of a site and taken together they are up to date except for guys wanting to write a tour guide. I have stayed at several of the smaller ones, both doss houses and short timers around Grace and they are all still active. Even though the map says 2001, the site updates the marginal sites. Of course, Sukumvit has so many flea pits you could never include them all. But this is a very good start and should be of use to many newbies who want a choice of gf hotels, not a dubious compendium or phone book
Guys, thanks for that. But it is a little more complicated and money is not the main factor. Football fucks up the knees and my mate’s right knee is so fucked he will have to replace it. He is on doctor’s orders never to kick ball again which is a pity because he was really good. There are three layers of knee surgeon: 1. a guy in Germany who is a very very expensive master and he would deal with the David Beckhams or any of the Chelsea jet set who are rolling in dough. He is outside of almost all our brackets. The second division is Florida where a lot of ex US Army medics are stationed and where lots of old folk needing replacements live. The difference between Florida and say Bumrungrad is they put a lot more tissues in. It’s like a hole in your pants. Bumrungrad put in 5 stitches for every 15 micro ones Florida put in. The other thing is, as Naughty points out, the (very small) risk of infection or rejection. This is what my mate is worried about. I tell him to take the chance and recuperate in Nana or somewhere with a long queue of hookers to suck him off. I even said I would do gopher for him so all he would have to do is lie on his back and think of England (and Everton or Wimbledon in his case). But he is worried about rejection of the knee. I’m trying to say look take a Thai knee and a month of blow jobs versus a private clinic in the UK and no bjs except from his fat wife. But he is a hard case to convince.
I’m also not sure how world class Bumrungrad really is. Sure they made good money out of the Vietnam war but that ended over 30 years ago. I got some small jobs done there myself and the service was so so. They are ok for clap check ups but anything else I am not so sure. I know it is the best hospital in Thailand but come on. Does the King go there when he has a problem, say when his haemorhoids act up or when he needs a HIV test. If it was me, I would take the chance with Bumrungrad but just make sure I was not brought into the sex change theatre by mistake. If I was a doctor there, I would probably do sex changes on cunts I don’t like for a laugh.
Speaking of which, I see they even have the grotty gf kips on Soi 2, as well as the Fortuna and Grand Inn where I had some of the most memorable fucks of my life. The Fortuna is good value and very well positioned if all you want is to fuck slappers. Nana is luxury compared to it but who needs luxury when you have a hard on and a hooker to take your best shot on her cute little face?

The Sanuk maps are very useful, but their hotel information is clearly out of date. Duniawala's newly developed list is a very useful resource for anyone who is a newbie to Bangkok, and as a group, it is well worth it for us to maintain such a database and keep it as accurate as we can, for EVERYONE's benefit. Admittedly, Adobe Acrobat was not a well chosen tool for the job, but MS Word is far more reasonable, and we can live with it.
If Martians and Duniawala could get off of their personal dislike for each other enough to recognize the simple fact that such a tool DOES have value for this community, we could possibly have a far higher percentage of the posts on this forum actually devoted to providing useful information about the P4P scene in LOS.
Case in point: I was looking for a good GF 3.5-4* hotel with a pool in the 2000-3000 Baht/night range in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok.
The places that I seriously considered were Livingstone's, the Dynasty Grande, and the Majestic Grande. NOT ONE OF THEM is on the Sanuk Maps, because they are all less than 5 years old.

Yes that is right. Tell your rude little Indian friend he should use a spreadsheet or better still a database package for his information that becomes redundant almost as soon as it is written. Blame it on the Internet. When I started going to Bangkok, not even Nana was all that well-known. But now every rude Paki and Indian is an expert. That's progress mate. If he needs a cheap job done, there are plenty of Indian and Paki programers who will oblige. Meanwhile, if I need info, I will ask my mates or put a relevant question to this and other boards.
Cheers
Where'd this come from - rude indian friend, paki and indian.....?

Hi all,
From reading the posts in this thread it seems that the Davis Hotel is girl friendly (ie. no joiner fee, no hassle). However, I couldn't find any post mentioning actually bringing girls there. Can someone confirm that it is absolutely positively GF? And if so, how does it work? Does the girl leave her ID in the reception? It looks like a nice place, and I'm thinking about trying it out, but I'd hate to arrive there only to find out that I can't have company. I've stayed before at the Grand Business Inn which is totally GF, but this time I would like to stay in something a little more swank. Is Davis value for money?
Thanks!
Guys the map and the site that goes with it is a starting point, one of many starting points. There are new hotels going up all the time and others being taken down or converted. So no site will be up to date unless someone makes it their life's work. Even guide books go out of date quickly and they are just a beginning reference point As regards a blow job here or a blow job there, well what's in ablow job here or there? No big deal.
It also depends whether you are a once off visitor of a frequent visitor. If once off, mostly anywhere should be ok but it is best parking yourself in the centre of the action such as Nana hotel. If you are a frequent visitor, you need contacts and cyber contacts, any cyber contacts have to rank far down the field.
2041's post is a good indicatoir in this way. He wants a specific ranking of three places, one of which has been done to death on this board and the other two have figured prominently as well. He can only take any list as a starting point and make on the ground assessments after that. I personally would check out those places in Jools or another expat bar. The next time I am there I wil laks Big Dave what he thinks of Giotto's dive. If there are a few guys around, that wil be the best assessment there is to be found about Giotto's dive.
I have mentioned one or two places I hang out in in Pattaya and the girls here laugh. But guess what, I can get any information I want on almost anything in five minutes in one of those gaffes. Contacts open doors.
Now this site seems to be about promoting Giotto's place. Let's see as an experiment how much valuable information comes out of the Giotto thread. In other words, let's see how useful Giotto's is as an informtational hub.
As regards other information, I have tried collecting information on knee surgey and I got a few replies. But that is a specialised area and most cybers don't know about it. Specialised information will never make it to a general list.
Anyway, these pointers are given to help. I will allow the Paki to go back to his list building. No need for me to boil my cabbage twice and I have other fish to fry:)

Obviously, this is another example showing that the English teacher you boffed didn't actually teach you much English - Perhaps your comprehension of the Martian language is better, albeit I'd contend that it's not all that practical here on Earth. In no way did I ask for a ranking of these 3 locations. I simply pointed out that these are 3 very relevant places for us hobbyists which were not even listed in the Sanuk Maps. In fact, I've previously stayed in one of them (the Majestic Grande), and the other two were not even open yet the last time I was in Thailand. I believe that I know pretty darn well how these 3 places compare, because I've done ALOT of investigation about them, and I have the advantage of having spent some time in Bangkok over the past couple of years, thus I understand the lay of the land (not to mention, the land of the lay). I merely pointed out that it would certainly be a useful resource to have these 3 very well known places within our community listed, with their guest friendliness, location, and approximate quality, for newbies who did care to RTFF, but didn't actually know in advance which places they were looking for. The particular resource we were referring to was not for me. It was for newbies. In my case, I would use such a list merely as a starting point in my research, as to which GF hotels were located in the area I wished to stay,
2041: Agreed. Only I said it in fewer words. Maybe I did learn something from Miss Gillespie when we did O and A levels together. She certainly learned something from me. happy days.
If you want to argue over nothing, there are plenty of guys here will oblige. I am not one of them. See you on the Thai women thread.

Stayed at this hotel last week on Sukhumvit Soi 11 and had no problems bringing girls back. First night even brought 2 ladies back for a 3some. Just have them registered at the desk and ready for action.
Had tried with couples with my wife but was on my own so was the first time trying with 2 girls.
One was giving me a BBBJ and i was having 2 handsful and mouthful with the other's tits. The 2 then switched position and after more BJ, my little bro got capped and one rode me cowgirl and the other was sticking her pussy in my face while she was grabbing the other girls tits and sucking them and then deep kissing her. Man! That got me pumping harder. After about 15 mins of one girl, switch (with a change of condom of course) to a doggy on the other girl and the girls exchange favours between them. They were kissing and sucking but didn't go down to the pussy, unfortunately for me. When I was about to shoot my pistol, removed the cap and sprayed them both on their tits. They weren't keen on the CIM or having it on their face but they did lick some off it off each other and one licked my little bro clean.
Only booked them for a ST and cost B1500 each. Good deal to me.

First of all, thanks to all the reports written by all my fellow mongers. Lets just say my third trip to the land of smiles is in an advanced stage of planning. I've been looking for an apartment close to Nana and Soi Cowboy and have come up with Jasmine City Buildings and was wondered what fellow mongers thought of it. Has anyone stayed before? Apologies to Giotto, I would have most certainly stayed at Livingstones but am looking for an apartment. If you're in town for a month a hotel room can become a little too small after a week or so. Jasmine is within walking distance of Soi Cowboy and Livingstones and a very short journey to Nana Plaza.
Jasmine's 'contract rates', fortunately my links in Bangkok allow me to take advantage of slightly reduced rates are 46,000 baht per month for the studio. If you look at their website you'll see its only a slightly reduced rate. That works out at 1,500 baht per night.
£330 per month which I suppose is about $550 per month. I've never managed to find this place via the usual google searches and its the best value I've found so far for a serviced apartment with swimming pools and all you'd expect.
I have no idea if its girlfriendly but I can't imagine that anyone renting an serviced apartment would be frowned upon for having 'guests' back. Could the more knowledgeable mongers advise?

www.jasminecity.comJasmine City looks like a great place. I'd be most surprised if you had a problem discretely bringing girls back to a serviced apartment.

www.jasminecity.comCorrection more like 1226 USD or 646 UK still reasonable Grand ahs a 1 month studio for about same. Look at renovated rooms only.
Look at grand presidents on soi 11, watch out for 10 percent taxes not included at Jasmine city. I'm on the same 1 month search and have not committed as of yet. Keep posting. Good find.

I stayed at Jsmine City for a night abt a year ago (wasn't it called Jasmine Suites once?). Got a good 1 night price on wotif.
I checked in around noon and they didn't have my room ready, they wanted me to wait a few hours. I wasn't particularly happy with that prospect, so after abt 15 mins of discussion, they grudgingly upgraded me to a very nice big suite overlooking soi 23, sukuhumvit and asoke. I could look straight down on cowboy from 20+ stories up! 2 of the bathroom walls were glass (those looking down sukhumvit), so the shower at dusk was spectacular. As was the view..
The rooms were nice, relatively large and everything was pretty new when I was there. Yes, girl friendly. Location can't really be beat if you take the train or need a taxi or a bit of company.
The staff were a bit blur and confused - they even asked me if I could check out at 8 AM the net day. But, all in all it was a good experience, and if I were staying a month, I would certainly consider it again.

Davis Hotel is girl friendly with no hassle whatsoever; just walk straight in head for the lift with your companion, or stop to have a drink in the hotel night club first. There is always some one in the reception area, they either look the other way, or give you a smile. If doorman is still on duty (after midnight they seem to disappear), they are always polite. The hotel is owned by a couple of Thai people, the whole place is nice and very chic, nice bigger than average rooms. Only down side is a bit out of the way. Do take a card from the front desk with hotel address written in Thai for taxi drivers. Excellent value.

Any recent news about the GF status at the Landmark please?
There are varying reports about the guest friendliness of the Landmark. Personally, I've never had the slightest problem with the hotel staff over girls, but it's been a year since I stayed there. According to a colleague who is a regular guest (last stayed in July), the hotel is guest friendly, but the policy is "individualized" and depends on the guest , girl and situation at the time. The main rule is to have a double room booked. If the girl registers with you, there are zero problems from the hotel's side.
If she's not registered, there can be some problem because Landmark isn't really set up to take girls' IDs in a discrete fashion. It also depends on whether the guest is staying in a suite on a Club/Lifestyle floor or in one of the ordinary rooms (suites, Club and Lifetsyle floors are less hassle). Finally, it depends on the way the girl is dressed, how drunk she is, etc. Girls who scream Nana hooker with their appearance or behavior aren't as welcome as girls who are less obvious. Also, if the guest is bringing back multiple girls several times a day, there could be protests from hotel security.
Boils down to this, according to my colleague- there's no objection from the Landmark to male guests who've booked a double room bringing back a girl, but the management doesn't want it to become a pisshead hotel. Tour groups, families and serious business travelers are more important to the Landmark than 20-something drunken sanuckers. If you're into heavy partying and plan to take a "regular" room at the Landmark, you're probably better served at one of the other Suk hotels. But as long as you have a double room and keep it discrete - no hassles.
The reason I stopped staying at the Landmark was that other guests harassed my Thai GF when she wasn't with me. A old bag of a farang matron asked her if "was allowed" in the swimming pool, a guy asked her in the elevator how much for a blowjob, etc. Plus guests from a region of the world I won't mention were extremely rude to her on several occasions. It made her very sad and I decided to switch to a hotel that wasn't so heavily used by tour groups and guests from that particular region.

Has anybody recent experiences about the visitors policy of the Swiss Park Hotel in Sukhumvit 11? I would appreciate any information, before making room a reservation!
I am staying at the Dynasty Inn Grande at the moment. Very nice place, but their rates have just gone up. They had a promotional rate of 1800 baht which ended the day of my arrival, now 2280 baht. The same day they opened a fancy (for a hotel) gym and perhaps some other sections. I guess that justified the increase. There is no construction noise, as had been previously reported. It's very quiet, yet still close to the Nana madness.
The old Dynasty Inn, on Soi 4, is now a gutted shell of a building. Don't know whether it will be another hotel or the property has been sold. But for the moment it is no longer. Oddly, this is not reflected on their website.
The DI Grande is still GF. I feel the hall of shame effect when I bring in a Beer Garden gal in the afternoon. A nice trick is to write your room number on a hotel card and tell her to show up in 30 minutes. The front desk will call up to check and soon your friend is knocking on the door. I had wondered what all those nice looking ladies I saw alone in the elevators were doing.
I had heard about joiner fees for a second lady. I haven't yet had a threesome so don't know. But we may find out tomorrow if someone's younger sister is able to join us.

Houston,
I stayed there last month and although I checked in with a girl, my friend assured me there were no problems for him.
Reception is on the 51st floor and your apartment will probably not be there, so you take an elevator to your floor withoutpassing reception. It's an apartment building on top of an office block so the entrance is unlike a hotel.
The first morning I ate alone but brought my gf along the second day. The staff were polite to her and never questioned me.
The value until 31Oct is great but I don't love the location. I'm a Sukumvit man, especially around Asoke where they are connecting the BTS to hotels and shops so you don't have to climb over the traffic.

Thanks for the update, I was thinking about reserving at the old Dynasty Inn but I see that is not an option.I posted misleading information about the original Dynasty Inn in my previous post. I'd second that choice. The last time I visited BKK I stayed there and I was very satisfied. True, the rooms are small for Asia (and the American continent, but not particularly so by European standards) but they're ultra-modern and inexpensive, and the hotel is conveniently located and GF. In actual fact, I have the impression that Majestic Suites are known in the "business" for its modest proportions:a bit to my surprise - and amusement - a freelancer in a bar asked me last year where I stayed and when I answered MJ she shrugged with resignation and breathed "smahll roums!". - But even that could work in your favour: there's no point in walking around NEP and Soi Cowboy giving the impression of being a millionaire. ;-)

Right on Priamos! As long as it has a bed and a bathroom it will fit my needs. Did you reserve online? I noticed the web cert was messed up.
Kurt1962, I stayed at the swiss park about 1 year ago and it was no problem to bring a girl back, no questions and no fee. But this year I sent an email to them about a room and in the reply they stated that there is a joiner fee of 400 baht, I remember that they said that before to me but when I took someone back in the early hours no-one said a thing. So I think that it's hit and miss with the fee, when I checked out the only bill I paid for was the room charge. Before I had one girl who just walked into the hotel straight to the elevators and up to my room, reception didn't even notice! It is a nice hotel and every time I haved stayed it has been ok.
Patrick.

Why would you want to stay at the Nana? It's not close to any action and you can't take girls back to your room.
Patrick.Patrick,
Thanks for your information. I have been in the Swiss Park Hotel before and I really liked the place. I was just not sure for its visitors policy. I will book a room there and "take the risk" of having to pay the joiners fee, if necessary

Has anybody recent experiences about the visitors policy of the Swiss Park Hotel in Sukhumvit 11? I would appreciate any information, before making room a reservation!I stayed in Swiss Park two months ago, also with some guests. Even with hotel guest policy of +400 baht they never charged it. However, the girls in the reception may not give you their friendliest eyes when you bring guests (who will need to show ID). If you are an older, japanese, gentleman you can however do as you please and still be treated with the outmost respect ;-)
There were noisy construction work around Swisspark during daytime.
There are also rooms with king size bed, and not the standard twin beds.
Why would you want to stay at the Nana? It's not close to any action and you can't take girls back to your room.
Don't you mean it's a dump and you wouldn't WANT to take a girl back there?

Gee, and I thought all those girls sitting in the lobby and standing in the parking lot were waiting for their husbands. Shocking that something like prostitution would take place in such a outstanding establishment such as the Nana.

Some things taht can be seen there can't be mentioned on this list, without being in violation of Rules.
Hope you know what others mean by RTFF.

Effectively, you have to do a double walk of shame. First on the street level lobby (which is staffed by young girls who will giggle and point at you), and then another, longer, walk of shame through the main lobby. I had no problems there, just lots of glares.
Quick pointer: For the street level lobby, there is a handicap entrance on the side of the building you can use. This avoids walking past the girls standing out the front.
Viper10,
It's a good hotel, 4 - 5 stars, girlfriendly, close to Soi Cowboy (you can walk there). 15 min to walk to Soi Nana.
The only disadvantage I know about is that the lobby is somewhere in the upper floors of the building, so you have to use 2 elevators to get to your room. There is a long walk of shame, if that is something you care about.

Does anyone have the scoop on the NaNa Hotel? I made reservations to stay there from the 14th to the 17th of this month. The older geezers that work there are quite obnoxios. When I gave an old bellhop 100bht for carrying up 2 light bags he whined "cannot buy beer with that". The younger staff is more polite. Keep everybody at an arm's length and be a tightwad. Generosity is looked at as a weakness. Check the room before you check in. Check the smell, and the lock. The staff will stand there and try to squeeze more jack out of an American and won't even waste their breath on an Englishman or European. When I pretend to be British they start talking football to test me and I just tell them my money is green but I spend and tip like an Englishman and they leave me alone. Plenty of Limeys and Krauts stay there and don't tip and get treated better than generous gringos. Don't let the Americans do to Thailand what they did to Brasil. And furthermore. The World is a Ghetto, so enjoy it while you can. AND. That parking lot is a booty smorgasbord. Nana security will check the IDs and make sure they are of age (19 is of age as they are 1 at birth). They will not tell you if it was a transgender you picked up, and they keep their ID to make sure you don't get burned. Great place for a rookie. Just remember that they hate you but love Mr. Franklin and Mr. Grant. In 99% of the world Familiarity Breeds Contempt, and that especially goes for Asia.
After almost 60 stays at the Grand Hyatt, I decided it was time for a change. Picked Livingstones based on what I read here. All in all it appears to be a good choice.
I picked a Jr Suite, although in hindsight the Deluxe probably would have been good enough. No complaints about the room except I wish there was a phone by the little desk where the internet connection is. The bathroom is a bit cramped. I do miss the seperate shower stall I had up in the Hyatt, but the little honey I brought home last night loved the Jacuzzi.
I am not wild about Soi 33, but then maybe I haven't given it the chance it deserves. The bar fines are high and I really haven't seen any discernable difference in the quality of the girls here versus further up the street.
What is nice was the lack of a walk of shame and that nasty checking of ID's. I brought back a really nice one last night from Nana and she appreciated the no hassle. She was already to hand over her ID to someone, but here that late there is no one to take it anyway. And once in the room the Jacuzzi really opened things up.
On the flip side, I do worry a little about security. I am used to the Hyatt where there are legions of guards watching over everything all the time. Here late a night, it looks like just about anyone could wander in and about. Maybe Giotto has some hidden eyes keeping watch - I kind of hope so.
All in all though, this is nice hotel, very good value for the money on the room side of things. I am not too happy with the bar fine system in the sports bar though. I arrived very late the first night and took one of the girls from there after it closed. I still had to pay the bar fine or she would not go to the room. That sort of thing kind of pushes the equation to go outside and find your company.

Mr. G - going to ask you again re policy on barfine.
If we hook up with one of the girls at the sports bar on night one, pay the barfine, etc. etc. and then next few nights after decide to make a private deal with her (like in most other places) - what's Mrs. G's policy.
I know if we were not guests at Livingston's, no one would know, and that girl would just "call in sick" - but since we luv your place, what happens?

Correct, I never answered that question.
First my reply to Thor93 because of paying bar fines after the closing hours. The rule is: If the girl met the customer in our Sports Lounge she has to be barfined. If we would not enforce this rule many girls and customers would simply wait until the bar closes, to avoid the bar fine.
Private Deal:
If you take out the girls for some days you usually also make a deal about the barfine for some days with us. If the girl decides to go the other way of not showing up / sick leave the salary is cut for those days. In Livingstone's this salary cut is much lower than a bar fine, so the girl can make profit, if she really wants to do that. Other bars here in Soi 33 definitely cut the bar fine from the girls salary, to avoid that problem.
If we find out that the girl stayed with a customer but told us she were sick she will be fired instantly.
To enforce discipline and rules in the bar is the most important.

I agree that is fair and proper. In any event she had explained it to me and I understood. But you know all of us mongerers are cheap.
Making another stop at Dynasty Inn Grande and I rate this hotel even higher now than I did before, a good deal at 2280B for the rooms. The second wing is now open and so is the brand new fitness center with all new equipment, the fitness center room smells like a new car.
The hotel is on the same level as MG but cheaper however, there is no free breakfast but if you are never up at those breakfast hours, it no problem.
The new rooms also have a coffee maker and a DVD player which they did not have in the regular rooms before, coupled with the free internet and huge bed this place is grande, I've found a home on the road. Check them out at

yo bros,
Just a quick question.
I made booking to check in this weekend @ the Novotel Lotus on soi 33, right next to Livingstone. Although I've made booking under 2 guests, but just wondering if any bros here had any idea whether Novotel Lotus is girl friendly?
If not, what is the joiner fee? What if I bring 2 chics to sleep over?! Please provide me some feedback bros.
Can't wait to explore the nite life in Bangkok. Haha.
Anyone wanna meet up for some fun, more than welcome! Would love to have an orgy with few chics and dicks haha

Two different answers:
1. I've stayed there in past, more than 10+ times over 3 yr period and always found it GFE.
2. Other's have said differently and I asked Mr. G to check for us. The GM's reply was if a corporate client (which I am), no problems or joiner fees. If internet booking or travel agent booking, a joiner fee required. Unfortunately that response is totally inadequate - at midnight how does the security guard know who is who?
If you book a double, you should be fine.
Btw, their buffet breakfast is excellent (coco room on 8 or 9 floor), if you can get a corner room. Overall excellent hotel, nice bathrooms, great service.
If you venture onto Soi 33, drop in on Livingstone's Lodge/Sports Bar (ask for THE owner and introduce yourself as ISG member) and Monet - turn left when exiting front of Novotel Lotus, walk about 100 meters down. L on your left side, Monet on your right. Beware of other bars, many are rip-offs if you don't know the scene.

AnY info on this hotel. I wanted the JW but even at 110 a night Priceline would not take it. Instead I got this one for 90. It is supposed to be a five star. Thanks.

Personally i wouldn't bother because of the location, its a few km within all the P4P, but those few km's could take 40+ minutes to get through during most of the day. It's NOT on the BTS. Hotel itself is fine and the Amari group have an excellent staff training programme which will leave you feeling more than welcome by every member of staff you pass.
Thought of Giotto's place ? its certainly in your budget. Catch his thread for info. Or if 5* mega hotels is your thing I would highly recommend Grande Sheraton, opposite Sukhumvit soi 19 and its right in between soi cowboy and nana !

It's a long way from action. DOn't know about GF. Try Amari Blvd on Suk Soi 5.
thanks for the info, although, as you know, priceline does not allow you to select your specific hotel so I'll have to "make do" with this five star hotel. I am going with my EE girl and figured I'd treat her to a luxury pad for a few days. thanks again.
RTFF...I know but I am leaving in a few hours....and wanted to know if the Majestic Suites still has the big ass bathtubs in all the rooms? i was last there in 2000. is this the only hotel in this pricerange that has them or is there another one that does. i apolgzize for the lame questions.
if i can't get a hotel that has a big bath tub for a reasonable price, please tell me some hotels that are ubermodern like the majestic suites. this trip may not include a lot of mongeirng.

There is a big difference between the J.W. Marriott and the Amari Watergate.
Any hotel can call themselves a 5 Star, but reality is often different. The Marriott is definitely 5 star. The Amari, at best, is a four.

Only thing going for this place is the cheap price, but I went in once to check the place out (about 2 years ago) and if nothings change since then ,this place is a dump. Recently heard the place had bug problems--roaches in the rooms--but cant confirm.
Up to you, but even at this cheap price, I won't stay here.

PTIf you want a cheap place that is not a dump, try the Malaysia Hotel in Soi Ngam Duphlee, near the Lumbhini Park Station (5-10 mins walk). The walkin price should be around 700 Baht(I haven't stayed there for quite a while, but since they build a Condo next to Town Lodge I might reconsider it).

Take a single occupancy room (They all have 2 beds, a big one and a small one). They don't charge joiner fees, but keep the girl's ID for security reasons.
I notice that the Nana Hotel has a few suites. Anyone ever tried one of their suites ? If they are any better than the rest of the hotel they would certainly have location going for them.

State Tower at LeBua (www.lebua.com)
Decent but unimpressive lobby. All rooms seem to be suites, stayed in the one bedroom suite. Very spacious and nice decor with a fantastic view of the river and city. The one-bedroom suite comes with two TVs, one dvd player, kitchenette and balcony (currently the balcony doors are 'locked' but the reception can be persuaded to unlock them for those staying for more than a few days). The suite size, decor and view makes for a big wow factor. If you want to impress your date even further, bring her up for a drink at the open air bar on the 63rd floor, think I paid about 750 baht for 2 drinks. Good service staff.
Girl-friendly: Yes, no ID check, no joiner fees
Location: Chao Praya river area - Inconvenient for those who spend their time in Sukhumvit & Ratchada. During peak hours, it may take as much as 45 mins to reach Sukhumvit by taxi assuming the taxis are willing to take you. For me, I walked to the nearest BTS/Skytrain and used it to connect to the MRTA/Subway; travelling time is around 30 mins. Needless to say, going to Ratchada will be an even bigger pain.
Overall: Paid USD105/night (before taxes and service charges) with free internet and soft drinks but watch out for their poor conversion rate though, Lebua will convert the USD price at an unfavorable USD/THB rate and expect you to pay in Thai Baht. Still a good buy but the long commutes are just too much trouble. Good choice if one is going with the girlfriend or missus.
Westin Grande Sukhumvit (www.starwood.com)
Nice lobby but found it strange that I had to take an elevator up to the main lobby. Nice decor, typical business hotel room size, comes with a love seat/2-seater sofa. H-fi with dvd player function. Bathroom is fairly spacious but looks a bit old, unlike the rest of the room. Good service staff.
Girl-friendly: Yes, no ID check, no joiner fees
Location: Very short walking distance to shopping mall, BTS, MRTA and not located deep inside one of the soi/ave so very convenient. Take the MRTA and u can be at your favorite Ratchada MP in about 15 mins.
Overall: Paid USD130/night (before taxes and service charges). Rates seem to hovering around USD160/night these days. No hesitation recommending this place so long as price isn't an issue.
President Solitaire (www.presidentsolitaire.com)
Decent lobby, feels like a boutique hotel. Stayed in the Executive, Premier and Solitaire suites (size in ascending order). The problem with the suites here is that while they are all spacious, the ceilings are quite low so the Executive suite which is the smallest feels claustrophobic. The Solitaire suite is nice but I found the layout awkward and not worth the extra cost. As such, I always stay at the Premier suite. All suites comes with big plasma screen and dvd player (Lots of info on their website). Nice decor and quite comfortable except not as well maintained as Lebua or the Westin. Excellent service staff.
Girl-friendly: Yes, no joiner fee but they often post a security staff who will ask for the ladies' ID cards. That can be bypassed by simply walking up to the second floor where the cafe is and taking the elevator from there.
Location: In Sukhumvit but located fairly deep in a Soi/Ave. About 3-5 mins walk to the main road but you can ask the hotel tuk tuk to go through the back lanes and drop u off closer to the MRTA station.
Overall: My favorite hotel in Bangkok, typically I pay around 3000-3200 baht/night (before taxes and service charges). While far from being the most affordable, the President Solitaire offers excellent value for upscale accomodation in Bangkok.
Chaophaya Park Hotel (www.chaophyapark.com)
Decent lobby typical of convention hotels. Stayed in the Deluxe Double room, typical business hotel room size but no love seat. Room decor is somewhat dated but quite well maintained and the bathroom is large enough to have a bathtub and seperate shower. No dvd player and TV channels are limited. Has in-room safe but the non-digital type with key. Higher floors have good city views. Excellent service staff.
Girl-friendly: Uncertain, I have brought quite a few ladies up with no joiner fee or ID check but there have been contrary opinions by others. In any case, the hotel doesn't really have anyone manning the elevator area and the restaurants are all upstairs with plenty of patrons who are not hotel guests (check out the size of the carpark) so I suppose if one doesn't make a scene or bring in too many scantily clothed women, there shouldn't be any problems.
Location: In Ratchada so the numerous MPs are all within a short cab ride away. Has a nearby driving range and the gentleman's club, Veronica Elite Club is opposite along with an upscale traditional thai massage place. The Ratchadapisek MRTA is also a 3-5 min walk so getting to Sukhumvit is a breeze but might not be suitable for those who spend most of their time in Sukhumvit.
Overall: Typical room rate around 1750-1850 baht/night (inclusive of taxes and service charges). Highly recommended for those looking for affordable yet comfortable and nice accomodations. Comparable hotels in the area include the Emerald and Mecure Fortune but I like the ambience at the Chaophya much better. The Merchant Court is more upscale but the rates hover around USD95 (before taxes and service charges). At those rates, I would much rather choose the President Solitaire.
The Palazzo Bangkok (www.palazzobangkok.com)
Lobby is passable, typical of 2* hotel. Stayed in the Deluxe Double room, somewhat small and run-down with motel style furniture. Bathroom is quite bare with shower but no bathtub. No dvd player, no in-room safe and limited channels. Crappy matress. Cleanliness is questionable, found a few small roaches in my room and the hotel staff didn't seem to be surprised. No gym or pool. Average service staff.
Girl-friendly: Yes, no joiner fee, no ID check
Location: In the heart of the Ratchada MP area, quite convenient. If the taxi driver doesn't know where Palazzo is, just tell him to go to Emerald hotel and then turn into the ave after that. MPs like Mirage, Nataree, etc are quite close by.
Overall: Paid 1500 baht/night (inclusive of taxes and service charges). This hotel has been heavily promoted on another board as a great monger pad with many positive reviews but I found the Palazzo to be unsatisfactory and quite depressing. There's a new wing with better fitted rooms at around 1700 baht/night but the Chaophya at slightly higher rates IMHO is the better choice. However, for those who want to be in the heart of the Ratchada MPs and bring back loads of women everyday, the Palazzo might be more suitable.
Hotel Reservations
For Lebua, the Westin and President Solitaire, I have found the hotel agencies to be of little use and simply reserve my rooms through the hotel websites. For the lower-end hotels like Chaophya and Palazzo, the hotel agencies offer much better rates.
Asiarooms.com appear to have better rates but I always have problems getting rooms through them, maybe it's becasue I usually do last minute reservations. Tried Sawadee.com but when I called them to confirm my room, it took them a while to find a staffer that spoke english. My best experiences has been through thaihoteldiscounts.com where Tim and his colleague, Anchalee speak english and are great with last minute reservations. Rates may be slightly higher since they don't have the scale of Asiarooms.com but they make it up with better and more responsive service.
However, don't forget that Tim is running a business so he has an incentive to promote hotels that he has better relations with, even if the hotels might not be the best choice for you. In any case, so long as one does adequate research to make informed decisions, Tim can be a useful resource.

Folks,
I am a newbie here and need some first hand information about hotel accomodation in Bangkok. I'll be in Bangkok (for first time) in last week of October.
There is so much information on this board, that it creates information overload (and I am lost).
So please "LATEST", short and crisp info only.
My requirements:
* Location-should be in walking distance from mongering areas. * Girl Friendly (obvious I guess) * CLEAN BATHROOMS(no compromise on this one). * Affordable.
Also I intend to just walk-in in the hotels (no prior booking). Do You guys think its ok to just walk-in or sould I book in advance?
Thanks in advance. Hoping to hear soon from you guys!.

Anywhere on Suhkumvit soi 2 through 33.
Try Majestic Suites, Majestic grande, Nana Hotel, grand Presidents on soi 11.
Evertyhing you could want is within 20 minute walk or quick taxi ride for 60 baht max. Suk goes off till 5-6 am every night after bars close.
1st time probally Majestic Grande would be best.
Giottos looks very nice, read giottos forum in asia section. I am going to try it for some days in Nov/Dec.
Nana Plaza is on 4, Soi Cowboy is on soi 23, Giottos is on soi 33
I prefer Nana area to stay at, Soi Cowboy to visit and 33 to look at high class materials for an option
Majestic Grande is a little high 75/80 USD but enjoy the Breakfast and layout of this hotel. Hell your on Vacation!!!

The bathrooms in Nana might not be up to your requirements. And you should book ahead because of the time of year and the prime location make getting a "walk-in" room at the Nana a little chancy.
Although over priced high soi places like Soi 33 might allow walk ins, they are not really within walking distance of the mongering areas.
If you are arriving by plane, it makes perfect sense to prebook at least the first night. Your chances of geting a walk in at Nana are very slim though I have done it in the past.
What do you mean when you said you like the layout?

There are not many hotels so close to mongering areas as Novotel Lotus and Livingstone's in Soi 33. Nana Hotel is possibly the only one which is as close to an area as the mentioned hotels - but close to Nana Plaza.
It just depends on what area you want to stay close to. To go from the Nana hotel to Soi 33 is as fast as to go from Novotel Lotus in Soi 33 to Nana Plaza.
And Soi 33 is a mongering area, as well as Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. But it is a hostess bar area, no GoGos around here.

I can assure everyone that both Novotel Lotus & Livingstone's Lodge are both within shouting range of getting laid.
I've stayed at the Novotel Lotus more than 10+ times in past 3 yrs. If you turn right when exiting front door, you can catch MTR to Nana (10 min tops) or walk to Soi Cowboy (10 min tops). If you turn left out the front door, there's probably dozen bars, plus of course Sports Bar at Livingstone's, and at least 2-3 MP.
If you happen to stay at Livingstone's Lodge, essentially it's one stop shopping. After 6 or 7 pm the bar is open and the girls are available.
Both hotels are excellent. Novotel is what I would term a good 3.5-4 star hotel, excellent service, great buffet breakfast. Livingstone is 3-3.5 star hotel, less money, again excellent service and of course one stop shopping. It might even get better after new construction is completed.
Now, what you won't get at Soi 33 are lots of loud drunk wankers....the clientel is definitely more tame and behaved. Couple of nice restaurants also on the Soi and two blocks to the Emporium Mall.
And prices are slightly higher than Nana and Cowboy.
IMHO
What do you mean when you said you like the layout?
BillBill,
Its the location. Close to Nana as its on Soi 2. The Hotel is very guest friendly and breakfast is very good and can be had at 2 locations either next to the pool upstairs or down stairs. I stayed there last year during Christmas coming from Majestic Suites was immediately upgraded from standard to exec suite. Nice touch! The Owners (Brothers) are very nice and even asked if I would like to upgrade at a largely reduced price to a theme suite. Not enough time to enjoy so I declined. I would like to see elevators add a room key security to go up as a Friend just showed up at 9 pm one evening un announced. Some Staff is from MS and remembered me from years past.
Hey, Giotto
Convince me too stay in your Humble Abode! Torn between many different places. Believe I might start on Low Soi's and then Move up so to speak.
Are the new rooms going to be finished? I am ready.

Rikusa,
What shall I say, there are so many good hotels in Bangkok...
It depends on the style you prefer. Livingstone's is a smaller boutique hotel, 28 rooms in the future. We are a bit different. We know all our guests personally and can help with information and advices. And we have the Sports Lounge.
We are located in the hostess bar area of Soi 33 and within 10 min. walking distance to Soi Cowboy, but further away from Soi Nana. And this area is not cheap.
If you had good experiences with a hotel up to now - just stay there, and come over here for a beer, I will show you around. Then you can make a decision for your next trip.

Ash and Bill,
if you want to stay in the Nana area, both Majestic Grande and Majestic Suites are good options. I've tried both fairly recently, and the different room rates (about 50$ vs. 70$) adequately reflect the different levels of service/room standards. MS is smaller, and soom rooms have windows that only lead out to the space between MS and the next building (about 1m). MG rooms are bigger and brighter, especially the ones on higher floors. Also the buffet breakfast at MG offers greater variety.
Both are GF, but MS (directly on Suk) is nearer the action. At MS they ask for the ladies' ID, while at MG nobody seems to bother (at least late at night). But you'll have to parade your companion through the spacious lobby.
For walk-in bookings, MS is the better option because you basically get the same price as quoted on their website. With MG you can get far better deals booking with one of the asia hotel discount websites.

Dynasty Inn Grande is definitely girl friendly. They check the ID but don't hold them.
Fourx,
They are very girl friendly and they do keep the girls ID but as has been reported here many times, checking and keeping the girl's ID is for everyone's protection.

Hi all,
I will be in Bangkok from 17th to 20th for business as well as pleasure.
The business part is to attend an Exhibition at the following venue:
The Challenger, Hall 1-3 IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Nonthaburi Thailand
99 Popular Road, T. Banmai, A. Pakkred,Nonthaburi 11120, Thailand
Apparently, the Skytrain as of now does not connect this venue.
The Fair organisers are running shuttle buses from the following hotels:
1. SOFITEL CENTRAL PLAZA
2. CHAOPHYA PARK
3. CENTURY PARK
4. AMARI WATERGATE
5. SWISSOTEL NAI LERT PARK
6. AMBASSADOR
7. IMPERIAL QUEEN'S PARK
8. NARAI
9. GRAND CHINA PRINCESS
10. ROYAL PRINCESS LARNLUANG
I have RTFF and my objectives for pleasure in Bangkok are:
1. A visit to the Eden club for the highly recommended 2 girl experience.
2. Visits to a few upscale bars and clubs with a purpose of mongering and maybe GFE ending in getting the girl back to the hotel.
3. Non Mongering activities might include a bit of shopping.
Considering these objectives I have a few queries which I would love to see answered by the members out here:
1. Would it be too much of a hassle (both in terms of time and money) if I were to stay in Suk and try and commute on my own to the Fair?
2. Among the hotels listed above - anyone has any idea about the GF policies of any?
3. Considering my pleasure objectives listed above, which of these hotels will be an ideal choice?
4. In the Suk area I was considering the President Solitaire. How is that located for what I have in mind?
5. Also, I have read a bit about there being a racial bias in some of the clubs towards Indians. So considering I am from India, are there some places I should avoid?
Thanks in anticipation of a response from some of the members.

I will be with a group of couples for a 10-day tour of Thailand. Besides mongering places which I am fairly familiar, I need a list of non-mongering places of interests to visit.
We most likely take the tour to the floating market, water taxi tours on the Chao Phraya river, Watt Po, the Royal palace, Pattaya beach, probably fly down to Phuket or Kho Samui, even a tour to the North etc...We have 10 days.
I do RTFF but would appreciate suggestions for places to stay and to visit in and around Bangkok. I want a totally-immersed Thai experience. I prefer to stay in hotels and neighborhoods with authentic local flavors, no more than US$100 per night, rather than the sterile Holiday Inn type of lodging.
Anyone aware of any special tour packages to Thailand from Los Angeles? Please advise.
I can help you with a authentic north Thailand tour. I have experienced the opium route following old smuggler path Chiang Rai Chiang Mai. A great tour only 4 days staying in a authentic village hotel. Elephant; tee plantation orange plantation. Rice field. Great tropical mountain jungle tour on river. I don t think I can send itinerary here will look as advertise. I can send by e mail the itinerary. My mail [Email address deleted by Admin]

I'll be in the Philippines in late November/early December for family reasons and I may consider a short trip to Bangkok, but I'm not sure yet. How hard is it to get a hotel room on short notice (two weeks or less)? I know that I can get airfare/hotel packages from Manila, but the hotels seem to be less convenient for people like us. The plane tickets should be easy, but I'm worried that it may be getting to the peak for travel and rooms are scarce.
The last time I was in Bangkok, I stayed with some friends for a couple of nights, then got a hotel. My friends don't live in Bangkok anymore and they were the ones who did a lot of the work in finding a hotel.
I remember that the old airport used to have desk for hotels that I would pass by on my way out. What about the new one?
Should I book online? Where? Are there any complications if you are booking online from the Philippines with a U.S. credit card? Can I just show up and hope that I can find a decent hotel? (Don't mind spending a few hours doing that.) I'm not too picky. I just want clean and some reasonably warm running water. Not having to leave the hotel for internet access is a plus.

You are coming in high season, so it might be a good idea to book ahead if you have a particular hotel or area you would like to stay. Two weeks should be plenty of time to find something. Booking on line can be somewhat frustrating as they don't respond or the hotel isn't as represented in the advertisement. There are some nice hotels, but they may be out in Bum-fuck somewhere, not anywhere near the action or even transportation.
I don't recommend using the hotel booking service. The will tell you that the hotel you want is fully booked and then stear you towards something where they get the most commission, usually out in Bum-fuck. There are a lot of excellent recommendations on this thread. If you do some research one of the other members has posted an excellent hotel matrix.

For $100 US a night you can stay at the J.W. Marriott on Sukhumvit and enjoy American style everything.
You can have your experience in a local Thai neighborhood for $20.00 US a night.

All are fine and the locations are convenient to the "attractions."
Did you try the original Majestic?
And the Park Hotel is also a good recommendation.

Forget the Ambassador. Unfriendly staff, a lot of noise due to refurnishing work going on. Expensive for what it is.
In the same soi you find "the Bussiness Inn" or something like that, almost at the corner of Suhkumvit. Very nice place but choose the room carefully because there is a construction site just by.
The Swiss Park H., between these two, is a cheaper hotel but it is a nice place. However , you have a construction site on the Southern side though.
Have a nice time

Thanks for the comments. And I also heard that Ambassador charges for the 'guests' you bring back to your room.
My first choice was Majestic Suites, but they were all booked for the dates I wanted. I was looking at Majestic Grande, but the prices seem a lil steep for me.

This place is a sh*thole as far as I am concerned - there are better places in BKK that is for sure.

Have you tried Dynasty Grande on Soi 11? Little cheaper than MG, I think.

If you liked Manhattan, then you should check out Ruamchitt Plaza next door. No BF incl. but rooms are same quality and almost twice as big and cheaper. No joiner fee and friendly service. 1000 B/night all inclusive.
Thanks for the suggestion Duniawala! How do you get in touch with them?

Good evening all,
Booked late, and cannot get into my usual hotel so have pre-booked a fews days at the Leela Inn commencing 11th November.
Any reports regarding this hotel ... girl friendly etc etc
I usually book the Nana Inn opposite side of Soi 3 to the Grace hotel and can highly recommend. Just a well hit 9 iron from the Nana Plaza and all others amenities.
Thanks to all in advance

Leela Inn is girl friendly and although smaller, it is comparable to Nana. A very basic hotel to do your thing and get some rest but nothing remarkable about it.

I stayed at the Asia many years ago. At that time they had an in-house massage where they would send a girl to your room from the fish bowl downstairs.
Once the bell boys discovered that I was a single male alone in my room they would come, knock on the door, and ask if I wanted a woman. Buy now that the Calypso Cabaret is there, no telling what you might get.

I recently stayed in Woraburi Hotel down the end of Soi 4.
My friend wanted to go here for convenience (though it's a 5-10min walk to Nana)..
All deluxe rooms were booked out, so had to settle for a Single (around 900bt). These are very small, though functional. Be careful not to stay on level 1, since you will hear all the noises going on down the hall and in the kitchen.. even people walking up and down the stairs was loud.. stay on the higher levels.
Breakfast was OK.. and the hotel is GF, but charges a 300 joiner fee, unless you've already booked twin (which are limited).
Hi Guys :
Can you please let me know if this hotel is girl friendly and is it a good location for night life?
Thanks for your help.
I usually stay there and didn't mind it, has it deteriorated and is there alot of noise with the construction?
Long time I haven't stayed at this hotel.
Can someone confirm if it is girl friendly?
Last time I stayed there, about 7 years ago, I had to pay a joiner fee of 900 baht. that sucked.
Has anything changed? GF or not?
I normally stay elsewhere in LOS, but rep has me here on this trip and can't really change without him losing face.

There is still a joiner's fee but I am not sure what it is. Surprising because of all the freelancers in CM2 and also some in the lobby. I am not sure what the joiner's fee was but I noticed two guys being stopped and having to pay joiner's fees while I was waiting for my friend in the lobby.

in addition to peep inn, there is the newly renovated 'dungeon', also on soi 33, same side of street and about 50 meters from the peep inn.

Bunny Humper Bunny Humper, if you want mirrors, try the Star Inn, Soi 7, next to the infamous Eden Club. They have mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice, we are all just prisoners here, of our own device ...
Where was I? Oh yeah. Try the Star Inn. Great views (thanks to the mirrors). Giotto's Lodge has a well-positioned side mirror (at least in the room I stay in), but a ceiling mirror would be good!
Here's a few Star Inn shots from last year. Excuse my Heineken tummy.
I spent 11 nights at the president solitaire and wanted to pass along my observations.
Quite girl friendly. I had absolutely no problems bringing ladies in or out of this place. Several times, a man in a suit stopped the ladies to ask for their ID card. They kept them till the lady recovered them next morning. Your ladies will have to go to the bottom of the elevator and back towards a little office where security has their ID card and likely makes a copy for records. Basically. Other than this little hastle, no problems with ladies. I noticed several times at breakfast there were guys with their lady of the day dining with them. I am sure you'll have to pay extra for that service.
Location location location.
The PS is a bit of a walk from Sukhumvit. Not all that bad once I got used to it but it might be too far for your ladies to hike in heels. Taxi has no problem finding it. Just up Soi 11 and a slight jog turn right then left to the hotel. It's about 4 city blocks off of Suk. Close to the Nana sky train station.
There are a number of markets half way to Suk where you can pick up food/drinks. They point you to food land which is over on soi 3 (I think) but found the market on soi 11 was just as fine and much closer. There are about 3 711 type places on soi 11, one just around the corner from the PS.
The hotel has a little Tuktuk service to Suk which was nice. That provided transport for my ladies on most evenings/mornings. Pleanty of taxi's outside should you need to get about. No problems
Rooms.
I had a nice one bedroom service apartment. There was a nice bedroom with a reasonably firm king size bed. I didn't want too cushy as this makes night time activities more difficule. Too firm and I can't sleep. So from this perspective it was just about right. Nice bathroom with both shower and a tub thing with shower so the ladies could choose which position to wash. A nice sized living room with a good working desk with both wireless and wired internet access. I worked most days in the afternoon and the internet service was great (It's free). A nice sized couch that was just about right sized for you in the center surrounded by two ladies. A large sized plazma screen tv to keep the ladies entertained while you clean up and after. A modest little kitchen with a decent fridge, a dining table big enough for 4 people. This was quite nice as I ordered room service a number of times for my ladies and there was room to eat, extra dishes, and a place to put it when done that was quite out of the way from bedroom activities (don't want to destroy the oder of a fresh lady with fish head curry scent)
My room was in a bit of a strange location. You had to go up past the pool and to a little back building which had only 2 units per floor. It was nice and quiet.
Room service and breakfast was quite nice. I ate breakfast most days (while my ladies slept away) and ordered room service many times. I liked the food as did my company.
The people in the hotel didn't at all seem to mind your ladies in anything they did. Room service. Security. All delivered their service with a smile. I only had one elevator ride with a very judgemental Indian couple. I didn't need to speak Hindi to know what they were talking about.
Not so good things.
They over charged me. I'm still fighting with them to get some credit returned. Don't believe their advertized rates on their website. They will bill you with what ever is the most current regardless of when you reserved. I checked out at 4: 00am and not in any mood to fight at that time.
The package with discounts with the adjoining Ananda spa are bogus. I was not able to get any sort of credit/discount on the spa.
Room service was hit and miss. I had to call a couple of days as it was nearing 5: 00 and nothing was cleaned up. A couple of people would rush in to clean up. They did a good job. Just not something I could count on.
A daily newspaper was promised. Delivered about 2 fo 3 days. I simply lifted one from breakfast to fill in days.
Prompt 9: 00 laundry pick up service. Regardless of if you want it or not. I learned to time my bedroom activities around a 9: 00 knock at the door. The do not disturb sign worked about half the time. The others. A ring. A minute wait. And someone comes in. I thought to solve this problem by placing my cleaning outside the door earlier in the morning. That solved the problem some of the time.
I had to locate the room service room so I could directly access little things like towels (sometimes they only left 2 which simply would not do for nights I shared company with 2 ladies). Or water. Or toilet paper (yes. They left me with just a short role one night and two very hot ladies. Not good).
Sticky toilet. Had to giggle the handle to get it unstuck so the tank would fill. I could hear ladies in there messing around every night. It was kind of funny actually but not expected for a top notch hotel.
The most disappointing item. I made reservations for transport to/from the airport via the hotel. On arrival at BKK. I looked around for 45 minutes for a little guy holding a sign with my name. No one to be found. One nice guy made a couple of calls to discover the hotel guy was not working tonight. That's great. He made arrangements for a car at 600 baht. So. Make your reservations elsewhere as the hotel isn't reliable.
This was my 1st stay at the PS. I'd give it a so-so.
Rooms/bed better than the center point (much better bed. CP was rock hard)
Not as nice as the Mayfair Marriott (but much cheaper)
On par with some of the 4 star hotels but with a much larger apartment feel to relax and enjoy.

Thanks

There are two on Soi 19, City Inn and Grottino around 2k. Town Lodge is a long walk for around 1400. Not sure about Livingstone's prices but pre 31/10 was around 2k.

The Manhattan and Ruamchitt are in the same price range. 1000 B at Ruamchitt, Manhattan about 1200 -1800 B. Both the hotels are about the same in terms of age and decor except for the lobby. The rooms in Manhattan are much smaller than Ruamchitt, however, Manhattan has a restaurant for breakfast and the lobby is much nicer. Both are GF.
For the value, I prefer Ruamchitt over Manhattan.

Can someone with some recent intel on this property confirm if it is Girl Friendly and if there is a joiner fee? This hotel is extremely GF. I have stayed there, also recently, many times and the staff treats the girls like your wife.
Ok guys any insight to this service apartment? After presidents solitaire report a few days back asked about deals to mgmt and recieved confirmation of package booked 3 months ago. its on Soi 11 I know. Thought it would be a good central location.
Royal suite 1 bedroom for 2066 baht is pretty good price, Rooms supposedly renovated in tower 2. Any ideas on tower 2. Maybe ask for?
Is there any rooms with balcony?
Thanks

Is there a Hotel in the Sukhumvit Area between Soi Nana and Soi 26 with wireless or wired internet (I need to use my own Computer) around 1000-1200 Baht?
Town Lodge is getting too noisy because of the Condo Construction next door.
By the way, I found the first really not girl friendly hotel I got across while searching.

I'm loooking for a reasonably priced hotel near the new airport. Hopefully something with pickup service. I used to use the Comfort Suites Airport, but now that seems to be on the other side of town. Doesn't need to be GF friendly since I'm picking up my daughter and taking her to the islands, A late night arrival and departure whenever the next day will work fine.
Just don't want the long ride into Bkk.
Any help would be aprreciated.

First time in Bangkok, and the hotel was supplied by my employers, for whom girl-friendliness is not a criteria when choosing accomodation. Some internet research showed that it appeared to be girl-friendly (it's marked as such), but couldn't find any actual reports to back that up. So here's a run-down for future reference.
The Davis markets itself as a "boutique" hotel, which means the rooms are tastefully, possibly individually designed and very nice. Don't care much about the decoration (all looks the same after a few days anyway) but the room had a huge double bed, nice and firm, and the bathroom (bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in) has a big "picture window" looking on to the room itself (there are curtains which can be drawn across if needs be).
The atmosphere is of course a little more refined than some, i.e. they put the staff through smarminess school with special courses in obsequiousness. This had me a little worried about bringing back someone to share that vast amount of bed, but I'd already noticed one or two guys with girls who I'm pretty sure didn't check in with them. And fortunately on the very evening I was sallying forth to score my first barfine I bumped into an older guy coming out of the lift with two young things in tow who I presume weren't there to see his stamp collection.
Later that evening had no problems with my own girl, just walked on in. The same most nights (as things turned out I stuck with the same girl); though I fancy I detected the odd disapproving glance on occasion.
Only once did we get any hassle, and that was about on the third night when we got in about 4am somewhat the worse for wear; the lone woman at reception trotted out from behind the desk, gave that wai which indicates "Houston, we have a problem" and proceeded to jabber away in a very bitchy manner at my girl in Thai. Which got her back up and she gave a bitchy stare back, bless her. Eventually the receptionist demanded my room number, which I gave, and we marched on in anyway. My girl said the receptionist had gone on at here along the lines of "who the hell do you think you are, following one of our guests into the hotel". Thought that would be the end of it, but next morning about 10am there was an insistant ringing of the doorbell, turned out to be one of the housekeeping staff asking if I had any laundry to be done. Perfectly innocuous question for a hotel, but the odd thing was this was the first time in nearly two weeks (and the only time during my entire stay) they had taken any interest in my laundry situation, and didn't seem all that interested in my answer. I reckon they'd seen I hadn't been to breakfast, and was obviously still in the room ("do not disturb light" off, newspaper still hanging on door) with a lady of unknown qualifications and were checking up to see that I hadn't been drugged and robbed by something from the Nana Hotel carpark.
Other than that no problems. The Davis is of course in a different league to e.g. the Nana Hotel (caters to families and well-heeled tourist couples especially) so you won't find any freelancers in the lobby, and a modicum of discretion will go a long way to avoiding any awkward situations.
