Hey Guys have anyone on the board stayed at the Premier Copacabana Hotel located at Rua Tonelero 205, Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil? I am thinking about staying there for my trip to brazil, and am looking for a girl friendly hotel. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has any other suggestions on nice hotels in Rio?
GVI stayed there for a week last May. Nice place with an incredible view from roof. Girl friendly for a fee. The only downside was the hard-as-a-rock bed.

GVThis is a good hotel that is girl friendly. Nice rooms with an incredibly large shower with marble floor. Made for some great experiences.
This hotel is also directly across the street from the Rio police dept substation, which make it a bit more safe. Also, it is not far at all from L'uomo. Enjoy!

Ibiza's gone to the States, so I had to be the tour tour guide for an eager colleague. Floundered around a bit, but had a lot of fun.
Day one was mainly Cancun Club. Again, I failed to write down the street name, but it is increasingly easy to find. Start at 4X4, continue down Buenos Aires away from Uriguana, turn right on the 2nd small street. About 50 yards in, there is a bit of a courtyard. As the street opens up after the courtyard, you'll see Cancun on the left.
Cancun has a variety of promotions. Monday is beer day-- my favorite. Your 30R cover includes 6 beers. You can't use this in conjunction with the daily promotion that waives the cover if you take a girl by 5pm. The other days' promotions are 1/2 priced drinks, doubles for the price of singles, etc.
Unlike 4X4, the selection isn't that great early, so it is nice not to rely on the before-5pm promotion. By 6pm, there were 15+ girls and the quality was quite good-- much better than a few weeks ago. I like the atmosphere much more than 4X4 in that there is more seating per capita and the music isn't quite as loud. Until 5:30PM, the 3 of us were the only customers. By 8pm, there were 7-8 more. Pricing is identical to 4X4: 30 entrance (incl. 6 beers on Mon.), 150/40 minutes for the room + girl, 170/60 minutes.
I repeated with Fabiana. She is unbelievable. While I'd prefer to bring her home to be my concubine, I'll settle for you guys screwing her but telling her I recommended her. I can't imagine her service getting any better for me, but being appreciative for the business would surely have some benefit.
Later, we went back to Help where we hung out on the Veranda. It filled up more than recent weeks, but not crazy. I have a dilemna there, as I have a very sweet, reasonably attractive, dedicated servant girl who is there every night. Even though I could blow her off, I have a hard time justifying picking somebody else when she does all-night and all day for 100R. So, fairly spent from the Fabiana experience, I just went home to bed the earliest I ever have in Rio (around 1:45, I think).
Day 2
Here is a little massage parlor tour you could do:
Get off the Metro at Cinilandia and exit to the Rio Branco direction. Look for the large indoor/outdoor restaurant that is catty-corner to the big cultural museum that I have never been in. That street is R. Alcindo Guanabara. The restaurant is cool, but a little pricey for downtown. Continue on Guanabara past the restaurant, you'll come to 24 on the right side. Apartment 1111 is where Ibiza and I had great duplas. 80/ 1hour, or 100/40 minutes for the dupla. Just before 24, you can take the street to the left. A sex store, a porn movie theater and then some restaurants. We like Spaghetilandia down on the right. 8R for the daily special, which was fantastic both days I've been there.
So, back out to Rio Branco, make your way along to the next Metro station, Carioca. Find the street ... Alfondega. Address is 6, apartment 305. Good selection here, nice rooms. I think I was with Carol who was quite good.
Back to Rio Branco, make your way to 156. This is a huge building. Buy some contraband software, then make your way to the elevators. I'm sure there are 15 places in this address. The ones I know about are:

You have to go up and down, as the elevators only work for 4 floors each. Adds to the adventure. 2328 may be closed.
Back on to Rio Branco, several blocks down, R. da Miguel begins. To get on it, a 30 degree left turn is required. It is a walking street with cars. Follow it to Buenos Aires. There, make a quick detour left and go to Buenos Aires 85. Take the windy, 1-lane staircase up to the various floors of the terma. It is a scary place, 1R/minute, I think.
Get back on R. da Miguel for a block or 2 where it seemingly ends at Presidente Vargas. It actually doesn't. Cross the 6 lane road at your peril, then R. da Miguel resumes. The very first address on the left is 105. Here, apartment 611 is another massage parlor.
Since I couldn't do Ibiza's girlfriend Babi this trip, the 2nd best option was another favorita of his, Ana Clara, who inhabits this place. Unfortunately, my colleague was instantly attracted to her, so I chose another of the 4 girls. Frankly, this is the worst facility and atmosphere of the massage parlors I've been to downtown, but Ana Clara is supposedly very good. My girl was okay.
Then, continue down R. da Miguel. Eventually, you will come to Acre. Turn right and Aqarius is almost immediately on the right. This is a relatively nice terma, though nobody offered me a robe which costs the establishment considerable demerits. It has unbelievable afternoon specials as reported before. I think 20R/10 minutes, 30/20, etc. including the room! There was a 10R cover that included a beer or two. Ibiza's twice been with a Centaurus girl. The rooms are supposedly nicer than Monte Carlos.
From there, you're only 1/4 mile from the Uriguana Metro station, 4X4, Cancun, etc.
There are many more places to go, but I thought this would be a nice way to get your bearings downtown. The route follows the Metro most of the way, which may help.

Just curious with the exchange rate the way it is today what does a full blown night like this cost in Nuth, taxi/entrance/tipping/bottles of champagne/vodka/dinner ?
Also I have heard of this place of course but never been there, what is your batting average in Nuth?
Night out in Rio:
Taxi to barra from Copa-R$80 roundtrip
Entrance to nuth-$R50 per person
Tipping-We would tip $R50's all night Doorman, security at the door, 3 security gaurds inside. This would create a pandamoniam in the club. Now the word is out that your tipping and the next thing you know you have 2 personnal security guards by your table making sure no one gets close to you or messes with you. If you need to go to the bathroom he puts your hand on his shoulder and pusses the crowd out of the way to the restroom then waits for you to finish and escorts you back.
Bottles- There is a method to the madness. this is how the order would go. You get a bottle of jack, two bottles of chandon, 5 waters 5 smirnoff ice 5 bottles of sol. This creates a hell of a effect. You see you get into the club and once you and your group sits down everyone thinks your just some assholes in the club. But 15 minutes pass by and you see 5 waiters coming threw the crowd with buckets and buckets of drinks. Then your the rockstar.
Our bar tabs have varied between $R1500-$R3000.
Dinner is usally like a tray of sushi. This is usalley free if not it comes to about $R100.
Now this is being split between 4-5 guys. So its not really that bad. Its the service that is the best. I mean if you spend $R2000 all together and it 5 guys thats $R400 per guy. That $200 per guy. In my hometown Philly that night with the great service would cost $600 per guy. In Miami its more like $1000 per guy. Its a bargin.

Unlike manhatten where the same chick that cost $R200 in rio. AKA claudia from RIO cost a executive in NYC $5000 a pop. She was brought over to NYC by a family member of mines and she use to be at meia pataca everyday *****ing for $R150-$R200 per pop for a allnighter. THats brazil and that is what NYC is not. You can not only have a blast in the So-Called regular clubs andat around 1:30am go to helpy and grab a piece of ass. That to me is the eccene of brazil. I love to club drink and dance but come 2:00am i like to get laid. So it aint nothing like NYC because with a couple of bucks everyone has a night to remember.
I use to go to helpy everynight on my first 20 trips to rio but hey it gets boring. It aint going no where so you might as well go to a regular spot or a movie or whatever the hell you like to do cause without doupht when its time to get laid there will be 200 girls lined up to take that $R150 reis.

Wow thanks for the feedback, I agree with everything you say, can't party on this level in NY, I know I live in NY. Well I have seen more fights in the regular clubs then in help. Those rich kids get just as drunk and stupid as gringos. This has happened to me a lot so i have some insite.
Scenario#1 Your with your girl and some drunk guy comes up to you and tries to talk to her((Has happend 50 times to me in regular clubs with regular chicks.)) It is blatent direspect but you dont want any problems so you tell him that shes with you. He does not care he insist on talking to her and now she is very annoyed and is getting pissed off. This guy sees you with the liquer he knows your a gringo and your((in his head))taking his women. So now you have a very tense situation where its fight or flight. No turning back. BAM-you give the security guard a look and he comes right over and tells the guy to get the hell outy there. If the kid does not comply withen 2-3 seconds he is lifted in the air and tossed out the door head first.
Scenario #2 Guys always try to steel your drinks, leave your bottle alone while your in the bathroom and blam you come back and its gone.
What you have to understand is that brazil has a lot of haters aka-guys and gals who dont like seeing anyone have a good time. Belive me it is nessecary. Especially if your a gringo. They think that they can take your girls or your booze and you will just take it. And I am not a hotthead but if you are having a good time with some friends there is no reason that you should have to be disrespected or feel threated by other partygoers. Why get your hands dirty and risk getting kicked out or thrown in jail. So it cost you $R150 split between 5 guys. Trust me Its worth it.
The bathroom deal is just for conveiance.

You can’t leave anyone looking after your drink, apart from a close friend (girls don’t qualify and neither do security guys in night clubs).

Subaculture: I use and like Belprazer in Centro. You can find other Centro places through destack.com.br and other sites. I usually pay R$50-70 for one girl and R$80-100 for two girls. In my view, best deal in Rio. Turnover at the downtown message places is very high, so you often find fresh young girls who got tired of earning R$350-400/month as cashiers and are trying something different.
Greetings, fellow mongers. I am now back in Rio for the first time in 2 years (last here September 2004). I am currently on a 60 day trip through South America on a One World Visit South America Airpass. (If you want info on this airpass, PM me.) My trip started 3 July, will end 1 September. As I write this it is day 47. In 13 days I will be back in sex prison, aka the USA. (Sob!) So far I have visited Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Peru, Chile, Easter Island, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and now Brazil. Great trip so far, although very tiring. I still have Venezuela and Colombia ahead of me. This wasn´t strictly speaking a mongering trip, but I resolved to monger whenever I could. As it turned out, on this trip I have so far mongered in every country except Peru (stomach flu, then altitude sickness in Cusco) and Bolivia (altitude sickness in La Paz). You can read my reports in the various countries if you´re interested. BTW, Galapagos and Easter Island weren´t included in the airpass; I had to pay extra.
Since I am fortunate enough to be retired and having the time and money to travel, and since Latin women are my favorite, and since I have always regarded Rio as the undisputed pussy capital of the world, I undertook this trip to satisfy my curiosity as to whether there is anyplace else in Latin America that can compete with Rio as a mongering spot. (I visited all 7 Central American countries in March and April.) Well, with Venezuela and Colombia still ahead of me, the answer so far is an unqualified and resounding NO! Rio still rules! Rio is still king! And to be honest, I kind of knew that would be my conclusion even before I started.
Let me explain my biases and my basis of comparison before I start. I don´t do streetwalkers, and I don´t like the club/bar scene. Although some people swear by Help!, it just isn´t for me. Fine for them, but you monger your way and I´ll monger mine. So I have limited my mongering largely to brothels. (I also use escort services at times, but not on this trip.) I have found that throughout Latin America, the brothel experience is strikingly similar, although the price range may vary greatly. The brothel is usually a house or an apartment. You walk in, sit down either is a sitting room or in a bedroom, the girls will file in, introduce themselves to you and sometimes give you a peck on the cheek, then you pick the girl you want and get down to business. The price is usually fixed and non-negotiable, although the girls may accept tips for extras such as BBFS or anal. The rooms are usually basically furnished, often spartan, and in some cases downright grungy. The beds are never changed after a customer uses them, and usually sexual activity takes place on top of the bedspread. In every country I visited in CA or SA I found very attractive girls who are very skilled and enthusiastic sexually. DFK, BBBJ, DATY, and CFS are universally available if you ask. If a girl won´t do what you want, just move on until you find one who will. What makes Rio unique is the existence of the termas, a place where you can roam around, do your thing, see all the girls, talk to them, engage in foreplay, feel her up, and then make a choice. The closest I have found to a termas anywhere else is the Club Platinum in Guatemala City, which is basically a higher class bar with rooms on site for fucking. To be fair, I understand that there are similar places in Buenos Aires and Montevideo and perhaps elsewhere. But I repeat, for all practical purposes the Rio termas is unique.
IMHO, 3 things make Rio unique: the termas; the nearly universal attractiveness, and often beauty, of the girls (I´ve never seen a skank in a Rio termas); and the enthusiasm of the girls for sex. There is no other combination like this anywhere in the world, or if there is, I have yet to come across it.
Coming back to Rio after a 2 year absence was in many ways like having never left at all. This is, after all, my 11th visit, so I pretty much know where everything is and where to go. Two things shocked me, however, after being away for so long: how expensive Rio has become, and the increase in crimes against tourists. Let´s take them one at a time. Prices: at first I attributed this to the poorer exchange rate, but I soon realized that prices have increased in reais as well, so these two factors make Rio a much more expensive city than it was 2 years ago. A recent visit to Lúomo, where I took 2 girls to a suite, ended up costing nearly US$300, about double what it would have cost a few years ago. Oh well, it´s still cheap compared to the US or western Europe.
Let´s move on the the other factor: violence. Maybe I just picked the wrong week to visit Rio, but just this week the following have occurred. Monday a 19 year old Portuguese tourist, who was visiting Rio with his parents, was stabbed to death on Copacabana beach right across from the Pestana Hotel at 8:30 in the morning. This was incidental to a robbery in which the assailant stole his backpack. Fortunately the killer was caught. Tuesday a group of 22 Chinese tourists had their tour van surrounded by gun toting thieves on motorcycles and were relieved of their cash, jewelry, and watches. Also Tuesday night, 3 South African tourists were robbed at gunpoint in Lapa and one was roughed up. O Globo reported that both physical assaults and robberies of torurists number in double and triple digits every month. Now Rio has always been a place where one needs to be vigilant, but all this stuff kind of gives me the willies. During this trip I take taxis everywhere. Whereas I used to enjoy a stroll down Av. Atlantica, no more. I have come to realize that even there being a lot of people around isn´t going to help. No Carioca is going to risk his life to help a gringo being assaulted, and I really don´t think the police give a shit. Rio is becoming a scary place.
I suppose I should make this complete by giving a mongering report. Sunday night I went to Lúomo. My first session was with a tall, gorgeous beautifully built loira named Mara: DFK, BBBJ, DATY, CFS--very enthusiastic and uninhibited. I liked Mara so much I got her cell phone number. Next session was with another loira named Lais (no, not Lisa, Lais is correct). Beautiful body, DKF, BBBJ, DATY, CFS, but somewhat of a disappointment after Mara because she just had less energy. The cost for each girl was R270, plus R30 entrada, total for the evening R570.
Tuesday I called Mara and arranged for her to come to my hotel, the Sheraton. I got caught trying to sneak her up to my room (first time this has ever happened--I´m slipping), but it wasn´t really a problem. I just had to register her at reception, no extra charge since I had reserved the room for 2 people. She stayed from 7 till about midnight. I won´t tell you what I paid her, because some whiner will just flame me about overpaying, ruining it for everyone else, blah blah blah. So just save your energy and don´t even bother. Let´s just say I paid what it was worth to me and leave it at that. How can you put a price on an evening of uninhibited sex in my own hotel room?
Thursday night I went to 4x4, got a gorgeous morena named Rana before 5pm so entrada was waived, went to the supersuite, total cost R220. I guess bargains can still be found in Rio after all.
One final word of advice from an old monger, guys: always negotiate services upfront. Most experienced mongers know enough to negotiate price (which is non-negotiable in termas and brothels anyway), but negotiate services as well. Tell the girl what you want up front and make sure she agrees to do it. That way you´ll avoid abominations like CBJs.
It´s great to be back in Rio. Today I´ll probably make a final trip to Lúomo or maybe Monte Carlo--I refuse to set foot in Centaurus as a matter of principle--then tomorrow I´m off to Caracas. Who knows when I´ll be back?

I'm in San Jose at the moment (Rio tomorrow night), and it has solidified my previous observation that Colombianas may be the prettiest Latin girls in the world. I hope you try Aussie Greg's "Mansion," as I know he is a good guy and will steer you to some of the best girls. I can't remember from your other posts around the boards if you've been there before.
Venezuela also has drop-dead gorgeous girls, but I think the crime there is even worse than Rio.
Regarding paying too much, I always try to consider that the girls wouldn't be willing to do me for cheap if they never reeled in the big date, so have fun! I'll look for your reports elsewhere, particularly Ecuador where I may start traveling to.

Where were you at in medellin?? I just got back from there also. DId you check a club out called circus? Very hot chicks. Colombia has some smokin hot regular girls but the Pay 4 play is the best in brasil. P4P is so so in colombia

I clicked on the hyperlink and read the article of assistant professor Cobb. There are absolutely no details in this article, nothing. Everything that is written there is so vague that it contains no information at all. This guy either was never in Rio or did not do much reserach before getting there. If he only would have read the "Bubba Guide", he could have done ten times better.

I appreciate the feedback on phase I. Recalling a session as good as that is not difficult.

We then made our way to the turnstyles. The venue was like a compound. There were courtyards in the front and back of the very large main building. In one courtyard, you could sit at picnic tables and watch a live feed from the inside. Bars were dispersed in and around the building where beers were 3R, Caparhinas 4R, and other drinks various prices.
Inside, there was a large stage (maybe 60'X30'), a very large dance floor immediately in front of the stage roughly that size, and long table seating for many hundreds. There was a really good band playing on stage, and the crowd wasn't bad. I estimated the facility was 1/4 full, maybe 300 people-- not bad for a Monday night. We got a table right where the dance floor ends and the seating starts. The waiter brought a bucket of 10 beers immersed in ice.
It turns out that was just the beginning. The crowd built and built and built. The band was comprised of 4 singers (2 females and 2 males), 6 dancers and approximately 8 instruments. One of the singers was quite hot, and NY Fan punched me in the arm whenever it was her turn to solo.
As good as the band was, it was merely the warm-up group. Around 3:20AM, the feature act started playing. Apparently, they were from way, way north and east. The band was comprised largely the same as the warm-up band, and the music may have been better. What couldn't have been better was the composition of the crowd. Great people. Most aged 20-35, with a fair number 35-45 and a few older than that. Everyone danced. On the floor, between tables, outside... everywhere. Luciana and The Waiter are both gifted dancers, so I encouraged them to hit the floor whenever possible.
So, at 5:30AM, the 1,500 patrons collectively cheered then sighed when the last song was played. Does anyone work on Tuesdays?
The fun night out with Luciana yielded 3 enjoyable events between 7AM and 6PM. It was two-day whirlwind of fun. Like a birdie on the 18th hole, this will keep me energized and coming back for years and years.

I would say it all depends on the kind of service you want to get. In general the girls are getting quite posessive if you have a really good session with them. They figure that they invested in you and want you as a repeat customer. Even TLN take-out service is quite possible (and very enjoyable, I might add). If you want that level of GFE, then you better make sure that your dick does not touch too many girls' hands in the same evening and that your tongue does not explore every girls throat.

Just wanted to give a small advice to the newbies who go to Rio. IMHO, the best way to avoid major heartache down the road from a GDP is to avoid GFE: 1) Don't spend time with her outside the bed. You will be setting yourself up by treating her as a non-pro. Do yourself a big favor and learn some Brazilian Portuguese and save your money and emotions for the non-pros. HSBC ATM's seem to give good exchange rates. Check with your bank or credit union regarding fees. If you have a Citibank account, there are some of those around and they don't charge customers a fee. Others, they murder.
2. Best source for lady for all night - terma, help, agency, etc.
Usually NOT termas. They work from mid afternoon and often charge an arm and a leg for outside visits. I know, I know, there are exceptions. Help girls are simplist because they plan to be out all night, anyway. When you negotiate an all-night deal, be sure it's not until 6AM or something. All-night means some hours of sex and frolic, several hours of sleep, then more of same.
3. Best all around termas - Monte Carlo and 4x4 seem to be favored
The termas fall in different categories:
More money than sense: Centaurus.
Copa area Mainstream: Luomos, Montecarlo, Solarium and Rio Antigua
Downtown Mainstream: 4X4, 65, and, perhaps, Cancun.
Periphial terma wannabees: S. Campos 22, Phoenix, etc.
I would argue that Luomos is the best terma all-around. I love the one-floor access to everything, though not as many girls as Monte Carlo, the ratio is usually very nice and the service is consistently excellent. You could drop me into any one of the mainstream termas and I would be happy, but Luomos is my favorite.
Unlike the Copa termas where I can spend from opening to closing and enjoy every moment inside and outside of the rooms, 4X4 is much more of a place to choose a hot girl and session with her. The ambiance is louder and far more crowded in the main area. You have to order drinks with sign language. Average high this month is 76 degrees. Next month a degree higher. Average high in the hottest month is 83 degrees. Two weeks ago, it reached 87 degrees one day. So, the weather is no problem. On weekends, there are many thongs trapsing around. On other days, there is a very nice sand sculpture of bikini-clad beauties. 2R to take a picture, 5R for a semi-private kiosk to pleasure yourself while viewing.

No, I am not referring to the drink. I'm at the Sheraton Barra, and there are the street ho's on either side of the hotel. Meia Pataca will supposedly be opening back up 45 days from Aug 19, which is the day they started remodeling. As of this past weekend there was really no new "hang out" spot. There are usually only a couple at Havana. Another thing they are doing is passing through Quiosque 32 ( I think it is the number) which is directly across the street and down about 100 feet towards Leme. But my best advice from Noon til 10pm on weekdays is the to go to the casas downtown. You won't need to spend as much money and you can always talk to the girls about meeting you later at your apartment for much less than a Copa girl.

2) If she speaks English, where did she learn it? If she claims to be a English literature professor in college, fine, as long as she has the general education to go with it. If she is a jobless nanny and speaks English fairly well, well, chances are she learnt it on her back.
3) How much time does she spend on the net? Someone claiming to be a student, but connected all the time chatting means that she doesn´t really do anything and is really looking for a foreign BF to resolve all her problems.
4) Does she constantly complain about financial difficulties? Does she claim to be a single Mom who is receiving no financial assistance by the father(s) of her child(ren)?
5) Does she ask you for money for alleged "emergencies"? How does she react when you politely turn her down?
6) Does she somehow, directly or indirectly, offer some sexual favors in exchange for lending her a helping hand financially?
7) A girl that seems to know little about anything, but is very familiar with Western Union procedures or other ways to receive money is... well...
In other words, with alleged "regular" Internet girls, caveat emptor applies, too. Personally I never tried these dating-sites, but a friend of mine used match.com. He put just about an perfect add with everything the women wanted to hear. During three months he got hundreds of answers from brazilian women from all over Brazil. He choosed the most interesting girls and kept contact with them. I've done this on two separate occasions. It works best if you and your friend find some girls and spend time with time in a bar or at a restaurant before hand. Flirt very hard with your friends girl, and have your friend do the same to your girl. It can be tricky but fun.

Especially if one or more of you speak Portugese, your task should be very simple at Help. When I've done it, the girls have asked for a little more money, but, particularly this time of year, shouldn't be too stringent.

JerryDJD my man. Your best and cheapest bet (not sure if price is an issue for you) is to go grab a couple out of Vila Mimosa. You can easily bargain for R$125 each for the whole night....as R$26 will get you 20 minutes in-house. It is best to first secure the figures with one girl and ask if she has any friends for your friend. Then you just give them the same amount.

ok, backtrack to the reception and enter the boite from there through the black padded door. the boite is about twice as big as the one at l’uomo, and if you get there after 5 it is going to be packed. the music is loud, typical funk/techno/club-mix, very danceable, extremely heavy on the beat.
let me take a deep breath here. i thought that it could not get any better than the boite at l’uomo. but now i realize that this is wrong. 4*4 is way better; a fucking meat market. at least 60 honeys in small bikinis and lots of guys in bathrobes are in there. standing room only! bundas wiggling, bodies rocking, backsides grinding: a sweaty freakazoid heaven of bottled hornyness. wooohoooo!

Today I am able to get away early and decide to head for centro. I take the Metro (R2.30) from the Rua Sequieros Campos station (which happens to be right next door to the shopping mall that is home to L’uomo, BTW) in Copacabana and get off at Uruguaiana station in centro. I follow the Uruguaiana exit sign and step out into a sort of a market place. A stand selling soccer shirts is to my left. I buy a Ronaldinho national team shirt (original Nike Dry Sphere material) in my size (XL) for R30. They also have Adidas German national shirts, and I buy one for R35. I guess Germany did better than Brazil in the World Cup, and so the shirt is more expensive [settle down, you naughty Italians, I know what you want to say ;)]. Price comparison: when I was in Germany during the World Cup, I tried to buy a German shirt, and the price was 75 euro (~180 R) for the very same shirt. Cool! In my book I just save around R300 on these two fine shirts. It is time to invest that money … if you get my drift.
As you come up the Uruguaiana exit from the Metro station, you can walk straight ahead and end up in Rua da Alfandega. Two blocks further down this street is 502. This is not a terma, but a center de lazer (Whatever the heck that means?) But bottom line is I keep my clothes on for a change.
You walk past a bouncer and up a loooong flight of stairs to get to the reception desk. The girl there speaks minimum English, but good enough. R10 entrance fee, and two beers included. I cannot possibly lose in this deal! The receptionist gives me a charge card that will be use for all of my drink consumption. So I enter the boite. It is rectangular, size about 15 by 6 meters. Then 6 m front wall is the bar. It is about 3:30 pm, and about 15 girls are visible in the boite. Well, sort of, because it is very dark in there. So if your eyesight is not that good, you could end up with a real dog. I get into the boite as fast as I can; it is already about 10, and I know that if you want to score, you have to make it to the room by 11. 3 pm: i am at the hotel and in my room. this means i have 1 hour to kill before show time. i take the walk to rua siqueira campos, 143. it is about 15 blocks. as i make my way up the spiral ramp to the second floor, i start to get tingly. paradise is waiting behind that reinforced door next to the bored bouncer and under the red neon sign: l’uomo.

ahhh, the sights of rio. seeing corcovado in the distance while sitting in the taxi on the way from the airport to zona sul; looking out my hotel room window and seeing the sugar loaf looming over copacabana and leme; watching the atlantic waves roll up on ipanema beach; checking out the meat selection … at at rodizio place (ok, at the beach, too ;)). all of this is fantastic, but believe me, my mongering brothers, it absolutely pales when you compare it to the sight that waits for you at 4:30 on a saturday afternoon when you enter the boite at l’uomo. thirty (yes, i counted!) beauties in matching bikinis crammed into a space the size of a large living room, all eyes on you, hoping that you make her your queen for the night. if you have been there, you know exactly what i mean, and you are smiling now. if you have not, then there is no way to explain it in simple words. you have to experience it yourself.
but first things first: shower, shave, brush teeth. (note to self: must bring some good aftershave next time; the stuff they offer sucks). now i am ready to return to the boite and go on the hunt. let’s summarize: i was three-quarter drunk, little euro was rubbed raw from serious overuse, and i did not sleep. night 1 in rio was all that i wanted it to be.

Euro I agree with you 100%! I found out about this article last night from a newsletter and decided to investigate it myself. I checked out the magazine version today and laughed. Arrived Rio Sept. 2 after a series of three flights, with a ten-hour in the middle and two layovers totalling 6 hours. Painful what we´ll go through for some hobbying, ain´t it? But when most of that trip was gratis off my FF miles, you take it!
Gol amazed me in Sao Paulo. Their flght was scheduled to leave for Rio at 14:30, but the plane didn´t arrive until 14:05. I´m thinking this is going to be a half-hour late. They then did something I´ve never seen any other airline do. Unloaded passengers / luggage / garbage and re-loaded a pretty full 737-700 with passengers / luggage / fuel / supplies in 20 minutes!! We left the gate early! No wonder Varig´s on death´s row. If the rest of the world´s bargain carriers can pull off that sort of thing, all of the majors are in deep fertilizer.
Checked into my apartment that I got from Dieine at copaapartments.com. I´m not sure that I would give Dieine my highest recommendation in terms of efficiency in the booking department, but everything eventually got worked out. It´s a nice apartment and she´s a nice lady.
Went and did some groceries (why do I always forget to pack soap and toilet paper when I'm renting an apartment?).
Went to Balcony Bar for an early beer around 17:30 but the crowd was nothing worth pursuing. It didn´t improve as the evening progressed. Wandered by around 22:00 and then on to Help, to see what the crowd looked like, on the terrace. Absolutely nothing to look at. Yeah, I know. Too early, but I knew that after most of a day in airports and on planes, I wasn´t going to last too late into the night. Headed back to Balcony and it hadn´t improved, but I sat and had a beer.
Sitting on the terrace at Balcony, I saw a smoking hot Afro-Brazilian girl going into the Boite next door. So I figure what the heck, let´s give it a look. I´m counting on a total rip-off joint, but it wasn´t too bad (yeah, they tried to short change me by 10R at the end of the night, but at least the bill was right). There were three or four very nice looking ladies dancing (and some mutts, of course). But this black girl had an astonishing body, and the face was more than OK, so I let her have her way with me.
When we got her back to my apartment, we did some well appreciated damage to each other. First round ended up in 69 to mutual finish. Instead of handing out some sort of stale, semi-organic, puke-flavored snack, they actually provided a choice of several different snacks. One of the choices was real PEANUTS. And then they gave me several bags, not just one. And the flight attendants were super professional. They didn't try to be cute; they were just extremely efficient and professional. And the idea of reserving one head for females only is, I think, a great idea (even though I am a male). The Boeing was new and clean. All in all a very good experience.

Yep, that's her. She really gives the place a lot of energy. I find her giant dragon tattoo extremely off-putting. Yep, L'uomo has something that 4*4 does not have in all of it's sweaty drunken wild and crazy hornyness: the true GFE. And that is unbeatable! I like being nice to the girls and them being nice to me. They speak enough English that I can get by even with my pathetic Portuguesa, and so sometimes I find myself in pretty interesting conversations with the girls. I talked about value-mongering at 502, with a total cost of less than R82 for half an hour of outstanding sex. 4*4 is much more expensive in total. But the R170 for the hour is actually not that much more per minute.
My bar bill at 4*4 was a little over R200 on each day. Now that sounds expensive! But compare these $100 to what you would spend at a US strip club. At 4*4 the whole fvcking night is more or less one continuous lap dance. 3 minutes of lap dance typically set you back $20 in the US. So in 15 minutes you have burned through your c-note, and you still have not accounted for your drinks. And at that price you do not even get to touch the girls with your hands. Here at 4*4 the R200 includes getting a good booze buzz for the girls and myself. Heck, you could have 50 beers for R200 here (but of course vodka-Red BUll, my weapon of choice these days, is a bit more pricy). Last year I also visited the termas in Rio.My first full day in Rio I went to Luomos. Oh the excitement! It starts when you hear the loud music when you chek in! Then after putting on a robe and you open the first door on the way for a shower and see all the beautiful bundas! The first day(Wed) I saw Julia. RexI usually swear by Gol as well. But I would like to tell of one bad experience that I had with them. Back in March I took a flight from São Paulo to Goiania. Whenever I travel for less than 10 days I can manage with just a carry-on. I arrived in Brazil on a Boeing 767 which always fits my same suitcase comfortably. However, when I boarded Gol´s Boeing 737, it was obvious that my bag would not fit in the overhead. So I talked to the head flight attendant and had her check it in for me. (Mind you I am already inside the plane with the bag.) Why didn´t my bag make it to Goiania with me? I was hot. It was maybe 1pm then. I went to the mall near the airport with my non-pro, her friend, and her friend´s boyfriend in order to wait for the 6pm flight that my bag ´might´ be on. Badly needing a shower and fresh gear, I broke down and bought some cheap clothes, underwear, and socks totaling R$45. When we went back to the airport my bag was not on the 6:00 flight but the Gol dude said they found it and it is definitely coming on the 8:30 flight. Just got back from my annual trip to Brazil. First half in Rio. The second half in Sao Paulo. Thanks again to all the posters who gave great information and hopefully this report will help someone else.
Day one, landing in Sao Paulo using my ff miles, I hopped into a taxi and went to the local airport Congohas. By the way, there were no lines at sp but there were some airplanes landing after us. No fingerprinting, I guess that phase is long gone. From Congohas I caught a Gol flight to Rio to hook up with 5 other friends, three of which were first timers to Brazil.
From Santo Dumont airport, a short ride to the hotel Mirasol. I haven't been back to Rio for two years so it felt new to me again. I didn't bring a girl back to the hotel, but the last time I was there, two years ago, it was girl friendly. I assume it still is because on the night stand was a pack of Brazillian condoms.
For this trip, I wanted to do high end, low end and everything else in-between. After getting settled at the hotel, I walk to where my buddies were staying, the Atlantico. The hotel which is across the street from Luomos.
First up Villa Minosa. I can't remember who wrote it, but whoever gave the walking directions to this place was right on, and thank you very much.
The new guys were really uncomfortable going there. In fact one of the guys, as we were walking in after passing the canel, said it was like a scene out of the movie Black Hawk Down. Just like mentioned before, there are a few gems here, but for the most part, especially for the newbies, the termas are the way to go. I myself found the place to be intriguing. I don't mind being seedy. I could tell by the looks on their faces, the newbies felt very uncomfortable. So we just did the quick look over and left. As I said before, there were at least two that I would have done, but there was no way with the newbies feeling so scared. Maybe next time.
We took the metro back to the Flamengo stop and took a taxi to Porcau's, the one next to the bay. As mentioned in other post, this is another great all you can eat churasco.
After dinner we went to Monte Carlo since these guys were here the day before and they had already visited Luomos. Nothing really spectacular, might have been because it was a Sunday, but after the long flight, I was horney and I was going to do someone.

I used to always tip her, and I would always give her some candy. She does take care of her customers. If you forget a number in your robe, she will make sure you get it. If mgmt. found a girls number in your robe, she could get fired.
Back in the boites, I find a black hair beauty, but for the life of me, I cannot recall her name. I better start writing these thing down because this is not the first, and definitely not the last.

I just wanted to see if the man who bbq these skewer of meat on a small barbeque was still there. After two years, the guy is still cooking up some mean old beef and chicken skewers. Like some of the guys who drive there vans to sell hot-dogs, this guy drives his van and sell some very tasty skewers of beef and chicken. He had something else, but I didn't know what it was so I passed.
After eating these delicious snacks, we caught two taxis to head home. The guys wanted to check out help again, I decided to be dropped off at my hotel for more quality sleep. I reminded them to be ready the next day, our last in Rio, because I wanted them to see cancun or 65 or maybe both. We all had 9:00 flights from Rio to S/P but I was the only one going from domestic to domestic.
Last day in Rio. We meet at their hotel again and take the metro into centro. It is early enough to take them to the by the kilo restaurant. There is only four of us today because the other two had picked up all nighters from help and were still at the hotel. Again, they told me they paid only r$150 each.
At the restaurant, one of the newbies said, what a great place, we should have come here yesterday. Duh! I told him if it wasn't for their airline confussion we would have. I don't know the name of this restaurant but is on Rua Rosado, the same street as 65. It would be like if you jumped over the building in front of 4x4, it would be right there, it is next door to a Japanese restaurant. Just don't forget, lunch time only. The average lunch came out to $4.00 usd.
After lunch, time to visit Cancun. I have never been but I took the map that was posted a while back so it shouldn't be a problem right? Guess what, we couldn't find it. It turns out the map is wrong. According to the map cancun is between Rua Buenos Aires and Rua Rosado which would put it somewhere between 4x4 and 65. It is actually past 65 but since we couldn't find it, we went into 65.
We were like the first ones there. That was okay because everytime we would past girls in the stairway, they would smile and greet us. Some more agressively than others. Good thing we had robes on or there would have been alot of wood showing.
All in all, I thought the ratio was much better at 65 compare to 4x4 in terms of better looking girls. There were at least 4 I could have done. My friends thought the same thing.
After a while I headed to the bathroom. As I was coming out so was a very tall girl from the womans bathroom. She calls out my name, I couldn't believe it. Her name is Lidianne and she was one of my favorites here in Rio. I had lost contact with her but she remember me to a t.
My friends couldn't believe a girl would remember anyone after two years. Not only did she remember my first name, but also my last name. Needless to say, we got reaquainted in the boites and later in the cabine. She is still a top performer, and blew away the two girls I had so far. Not to say the other girls weren't any good. It just that Lidianne knows what I like and I know what she likes.

To tell you the truth, I'am not sure if this is a good thing or not. For her, or course it is great. I on the other hand, like it when they don't have that American influence on them.
Even though I speak basic Portuguese, I like the challenge of communicating with the girls who don't speak English. This adds to the allure. Of course this isn't for everybody, I just like to have fun with it.
Looking at my watch, it is almost 6:00 pm. Time to get back to the metro, get our things and head over to the airport. I don't need much time because I'am flying out from the domestic airport, but my friends are flying from the int. and it takes a while longer to get there.
I get off the metro one station before theirs and walk the half block to the hotel. Pick up my bags and head to the airport for my quick ride to Sao Paulo on Tam. Tam also gets high marks for customer service in my book. I had gotten to the airport at 7 and there was a flight at 7:15 and 7:30. I asked if I could catch an earlier flight. The counter person said no problem but I should get the 07:30 pm flight just in case. So we changed the flight to an earlier time, no added cost, no added hassles.

Sunday, after cruising the bars, I went to Help and met another board member from BA. Amazing how we can recognize one another in a crowd? OK, hardly surprising in a venue like Help. We prowled around but I eventually lost him, when I found my wife for the night. When I walk the streets during the day, Rio doesn't impress me all that much (as in previous trips). The proportion of beautiful women can't stand up to Cartagena or Habana, in my mind, although that's always down to personal preferences. And I go to some of the popular pick-up bars like Balcony, and there's nothing but skanks. I always go for the beauties, and I don't see enough of them. But in Help there were numerous beauties to choose from, and Valeria, my mulatta, was a sight to behold. Is there anything better than unwrapping a gift? And whether that's at your parents' when you're seven years old, or at an apartment in Rio as I solidify my middle age, unwrapping a gift is always a moment of expectation and, usually, delight! Valeria had a perfect round tight butt and was lovely everywhere else. Not a single complaint about the service, and she finally left at around 13: 00, Monday afternoon, after leaving me her phone number.
Monday was a bit of a write-off, as it poured rain the whole day and night. But I must admit, I was just as happy to spend the day sleeping and reading a good book, for some well needed relaxation and recovery, after almost five months of stressful work without vacation. And recharging my 'nads, after a couple of hard nights' work! Weather looks like it will improve, as the week goes on, to the point where the beach may be a possibility by the end of the week.
Tuesday was some shopping and laundry, and then off for the evening. First stop was Balcony, just down the street from my apartment. There were actually a few nice looking ladies in the crowd, for a change. But I had a mid-30ish large blond sit down next to me, and decide to occupy my time. Hardly the type I was looking for. She said she was in Rio on business, but anyone's guess as to what business that might be. I'm planning to go to Rio end of this month. Last time I was there (my first time) I stayed in a small hotel on Rua Visconde de Piraja in Ipanema. I forgot the name of the place.. It wasn't anything spectacular but I felt pretty safe and comfortable just one block to the beach and my favorite spots on Ipanema. I paid around 80 USD daily. Does anyone have a different hotel recommendation in Ipanema? Could be up to 100-120 bucks.

And the idea of reserving one head for females only is, I think, a great idea (even though I am a male). RexHmmm. Portinari is one of my favorite Rio hotels. I love the special touches and that each floor has a different theme. However, unless you have a regular girl, the hotel is not girl-friendly. The staff knows me pretty well so I got away with it a couple of times, but I think the regular charge is at least R$50. Check with them before checking in. They really are trying to attract the business customer not mongers.

Sorry for the delay in posting the remainder of my adventures, but like I said, I need a decent Internet connection to upload from my laptop.
Day 8 is going to be the dupla day with Poliana and Mila (… the artist formerly known as “Simone”). Yes, you can get overnighters, but pick the girl carefully, not just for looks and safety. Unlike the girls in Noguera or Atlantica restaurants, some of the Mimosa girls just don't know how to 'behave' when they get an overnighter, simply for lack of experience. If you find one that is intelligent, as well as having good looks, a bit language in common with you, and minimal amount of basic etiquette, go for it. He may cut you a deal but then he will switch you around. I had been promised to an ocean view apartment, then I had been switched for 3 times. In the end, I did not know what I was looking at (no more pictures), and where I was suppposed to stay.
In all, if you are a first timer visiting Rio, you still may use David for arranging your apartment, but you should be very careful, keep an eye on his moves, try to avoid other unnesessary fees he'd try to impose on you.

Dating VM girls always worked great for me. As they are not accustomed to excursion to Copa they appreciate it and responds with GFE and sometimes refuses to charge anything.

When visiting VM for the first time people will react totally different. Quackup said "it was like a scene out of the movie Black Hawk Down". My first impression was that VM looked like a scene out of "Planet of the Apes". Maybe that's why I felt so comfortable right away at VM? Either you hate it or love it.
The first time you might want to explore VM in the late afternoon, but don't miss out to go there on a Friday evening as well. Remember to give VM some time. The average quality is very low, BUT there are diamonds to be found. Finding a gem might take 5 minutes or 1 hour. Make sure to check out all the alleys and even the smallest casas.
Sit down and have a beer. Chat with the casa-owners and get informed when the next shift is arriving. Hopefully you enjoy having your ears blast out by Funk.

Just a few words of advice regarding VM.
Be careful when "hunting" in VM, especially taking overnighters, that may result in serious trouble in the future. This for 2 reasons:
1. Locals believe that gringo's are paying more to the girls (current going rate is R$ 26, 20 to the girl, 5 to the house and 1 for a condom) so they tend to not like gringo's taking the girls out from VM.
2. Another issue is that if you take the girl out from VM, the house is missing serious income, so....
VM is safe for all of us, as long as you know the rules to play.

Be careful when "hunting" in VM, especially taking overnighters, that may result in serious trouble in the future. This for 2 reasons:
1. Locals believe that gringo's are paying more to the girls (current going rate is R$ 26, 20 to the girl, 5 to the house and 1 for a condom) so they tend to not like gringo's taking the girls out from VM.
2. Another issue is that if you take the girl out from VM, the house is missing serious income, so....
VM is safe for all of us, as long as you know the rules to play.

Two out of three times I take the VM girls to the nearby motel (Hotel Canário) for 1-2 hours sessions. The casa owners never complained. They might not like it if you take out the girl to Copa for a overnight. Better date her the following day.

This gentelman name David, excellent in communication (email correspondents) based in U.S.A, a very "sharp" business man who likes to take "control", never met him when I was in Rio.
He may cut you a deal but then he will switch you around. I had been promised to an ocean view apartment, then I had been switched for 3 times. In the end, I did not know what I was looking at (no more pictures), and where I was suppposed to stay.
In all, if you are a first timer visiting Rio, you still may use David for arranging your apartment, but you should be very careful, keep an eye on his moves, try to avoid other unnesessary fees he'd try to impose on you.

I made the stupid mistake of booking an apartment through him for my June visit - I travelled 24hrs from Australia for this my second visit to Rio.
First visit I used RioApartments (http://www.rioapartments.com/) to rent a 'Luxury' apartment - it was PERFECT except the shower was too small for 2 people to shower together.
So this time a mate of mine from Miami and I decided to get a 2 bedroom 'Luxury' apartment to share - but the one proviso was that it had to have 2 DOUBLE showers so we could both shower together with the lovelies.
I put this exact question to GM - Does the Luxury apatment have 2 double showres - as in can 2 people comfortably shower together?
The answewr from GM - an emphatic YES.
This was a TOTAL FUCKING LIE.
Yes 1 showeer was a double shower - the other one was a SINGLE SHOWER.
GM canot give you an HONEST answer to a SPECIFIC question - he is a FUCKING LIAR - DO NOT USE HIM FULL STOP.

I used them once, last year(2005). If I am not mistaken, David, who runs the operation, is located somewhere in Arizona. I rented a nice, luxury studio apartment in Copa. I only stay in Ipanema now. Fortunately, I did not have any major problems, considering I have read about some problems concerning this particular company. But I have found other places just as nice, for cheaper prices. So I never used his services again.
My first time ever in Rio(2004), I used Kenn's services from EZ- Rio rentals. He is a heck of a nice guy who seemed pretty honest. At least he was with me. The apartments were fine, but nothing extraordinary, but then again, I am not looking to stay at the Bellagio either.
Shop around online and check independents, there are some good deals out there, but you have to do your research. Put some time and effort, it will payoff. Laters!

I am going to Rio in 5 days and will be there for 3 nights .I have been to Rio a half dozen times in the last 4 years, had some good times. Short summary:
Termas
I have been to most of them. Beautiful women in these places. The problem is that I don’t like the scene very much: waiting for a room, the phone ringing when your time is up, hanging out half naked with other men, etc.
Clubs (Barbarela and the other ones in the same street).
I like that I can take them back to my hotel, but the scene and atmosphere is a little to sleazy for me.

I like that it feels like being in a normal discotheque, the problem is that I am more of a bar type of guy and not a disco (smoky, dark, loud) type of guy. The other problem I have is that it starts too late, most girls don’t arrive until after midnight.
Cafes on Atlantica
I don’t think the quality of the women is very good. Never seen anything worth taking back to my hotel.

Never done it because I have always been busy during the day working. So this is not an option.
1) I am a big fan of Café Photo in Sao Paulo. Not because the girls are nicer, actually, I think the Rio girls from the Termas are the hottest ones. I like Café Photo because the atmosphere is very “normal” so you feel you are not with pros. Is there a place in Rio similar to Café Photo?

Helped me out here and there. A sweet Agencia Amazon from the favela wanted a quarter (25 cents) as a souvenier and I thought she was demanding 250 extra reals. I called Arnold in the middle of his dinner and he translated this for me.
Seriously, the dude (Dave?) in Arizona changed me to a much better place after he we talked and I described my experience, age etc. $50 a night apt with a view of the Beach only rivaled by Bali, and near Help. Everything at GM Dave told me was the gospel truth.
Yours must have been an isolated case.

Pick of the Termas at the moment in my humble opinion
1) Lúomo, they have 6 damn fine babes there now, including Shayla, Julie, Ingrid, and 3 more that are on my list to do. Top quality.
2) 4x4, some cuties amongst a lot of average girls. The size of the place means you can always find some cuties. Lighting is really dark now, hence need to really screen the girl before taking to cabine as one may get a suprise in natural light. They now have a wiskeria on street level, you can wear your normal clothes and drink in peace, plenty of girls come through, they drop in on a "firemans pole", i kid you not, they drop in from a level up. Quite bizarre.
3) Monte, pretty average, only there on 1 day, slim pickings. Maybe some other babes on other day but I don't think I will go back.

Well, seems like you got a plan, man. Remember: the most important thing is that you have fun and be safe at the same time. If you haven't done so already, make sure to check out the Crime section on this board, too, to learn about things to do and not to do.
Seems like you already have read up on all the different P4P options out there: good. Nobody knows better than yourself what you like and what you don't like, so my best suggestion would be to experience it all, as much as you can.
While I think it's good to make a plan, it is also good to remain flexible, and Rio has a tendency to throw you off track, so don't worry if you don't get to see or do everything you set out to do. Your plan sounds like a good one. The only thing I would suggest, and this is nitpicking, go to Lúomo first. It is a lot friendlier than Centaurus. It will give you a good benchmark to measure other experiences against. I would go to Centarus as well, just don't take any shit from the girls attitudes, they are relentless in their badgering to extract dollars. Something the girls at Lúomo are less obvious about.
Also, be prepared for the size of the termas, most people say that they are a lot smaller than they expect. Basically the boites are quite small in a terma, kind of like a big lounge room with 50 - 100 people squashed into the one space. Of course half are wearing a G, hence it ain't all that hard to get used to.

StradAgreed, I also used him for last new years and choose an apartment and he confirmed it, afterwards he said it was no longer available and gave me another instaed. His website said it had cable TV but it didnt when i arrived. Asked him for a change in apartments but he said it would be difficult seeing as it was new years eve which i could understand. After new years he switch me to a bloody huge place with 2 bedrroms, each room with cable TV, DVD and stereo as well as big cable TV in the front room, way too big for my needs but i think he did this as a 'sorry'. So he's not all that bad.
Thing is he lives in the US and and his business partner + son look after things, her son took care of me very well and even lent me a big wad of cash over the new year period when the crappy Brazil banks gave up on foreign cash withdrawals.
My advice is go this GM, they are no problem but make sure you get everything that was advertised, when you inspect the apartment and it is missing something - asked to be moved immediately or dont pay the remaining balance until you get moved.

I had a great time in Barbarella once because I hooked up with a beautiful girl from Sao Paulo. Very true. Well, an American expat bought this place last year (together with the sidewalk cafe and the beach kiosk), and he has to recoup his investment somehow. I am afraid that both of you are right. Yes, neglecting to do the proper negotiation right up front can lead to very poor service. And yes, asking questions that make it obvious to the girl that you think she is a cheap street wh*re also does not get you very far. So one has to walk a very fine line, especially if one is new to the game.
But the truth is that following some game plan in the negotiation process is not enough. When the girls get to your bedroom, they sense how experienced you are, and they behave accordingly. Check out this one. On my way on Continental airlines from Rio to Houston. We stopped for one hour at Sao paulo.It is a scheduled stop. It was then i noticed this blonde girl a seat in front of me but obe column to my right.
She actually caught looking at her, then she went through all those body language move..playing with her hair being restless turning around as if looking around but each time see how I was taking it.
Anyway after a few moments i went over and asked if she was heading to Houston. I noticed she was Brazilian since she spoke portuguese to the flight attendant earlier. Knowing she probably lives in Rio, could be a good start off poin t when I return to Rio in november.
Anyway, she said no, she was heading to Paris for a week to see friends. We made small talk, asked her for her e-mail address. We exchanged e-mail address and wished her a great flight.
Well guys just to find out yesterday that her e-mail account is not valid when I tried to send her a courtesy e-mail.
Very interesting, my portuguese is improving so we will see in November.

Terraca Atlantico and I must say that the quality of girls is far below Help and Terraca. They are mostly black black black - had kids and are on the heavy side. Anybody know about Help's origins? When did it first open? How did it become the hub of Copa's sex scene? My friend said it used to be the site of Rio's nicest movie theater, called "Rian." Couldn't find any info online on Rian.

Then some GDP filed a lawsuit saying since she is paying the entrance fee, it is illegal for management to bar her fron entering. She won the lawsuit and since then the working girls started flooding Help to get at the sea of tourists.

Pick of the Termas at the moment in my humble opinion
Rio Antigo, this terma just plain sucks right now. They were busted 3 or 4 months ago and all girls and some clients were taken to the ploice station in cuffs. As a result all the best girls left to work at other places. The result is the all new girls are, well, just plain ugly. Adding to this they are really agressive and don't leave you alone. No much fun being harrassed by ugly girls.Bubba, you seem to know your stuff in which concerns Rio mongering scene. Having said this I would like to have your views, or any other experienced monger's one, in the above paragraph.
Is it possible that police make raids into termas and cuff everyone dragging them to the police station ( probably expecting some bribbes afterwards ) ?
I honestly thought that Termas were a safe place to monger in peace, safety wise.
I apologise to the experienced monger community if these questions might sound trivial but the idea of being cuffed and spend a night in a creepy cell in Rio doesn't really tempt me. If there are valid reasons behind it fair enough, but if it can happen every now and then , then it's a different story.
BTW, Rio Antigo effectively sucks, not a lot of variety , full of 1 - 3s. The facilities though are very modern. But one don't f**k the facilities.

Balcony has the same setup as Meia Pataca (outdoor café/restaurant full of hookers), but is located more towards Leme on the corner of Rua Ronald Carvalho/Praça Lido on Avenida Atlântica.
Generally speaking, there are not as many girls there (usually 8-10) as in Meia Pataca (10 to 20), and based on my own experience, Copacabana GDPs tend to prefer one over the other one, mostly based on other girls they know there. In both places, girls tend to become very territorial, and a Meia Pataca (MP) regular descending on Balcony to look for clients is frequently viewed as an intruder by the regular Balcony chicks. However, there are some girls that you are equally likely to find in MP or Balcony.
In MP, you can find a few girls as early as 1 or 2 in the afternoon, while Balcony generally gets started later (5 PM). At the same time, while MP shuts down around 10:00 to 11:00 PM as all the girls move to Terraço Atlântico and/or Help just across the street (Miguel Lemos), Balcony stays open until 3 or 4 AM, sometimes even longer, and is a favorite stopover for some girls that struck out at Help that night on their way to the pista or the late-night hooker hangouts around Prado Júnior (around Barbarella).
The few times that I went to Balcony this year (in March and April), I was not impressed by the selection at all. I agree with those who say that Balcony attracts more the mulatta/pretinha type, while MP has a higher percentage of morenas claras. These impressions, however, are very cursory only: there is a lot of rotation, and the selection of girls one day may be totally different from another day. One thing in favor of Balcony, however, is that it does attract girls that usually work at the ripoff joints in the area (Barbarella, Cicciolina, Franks, etc.) after working hours, because of its proximity.
IMHO, it is not fair to compare Terraço Atlântico (TA) with either MP or Balcony (and Help is an entirely different ambience, anyway). At any given night, there might be 100-150 girls in and around TA, while MP or Balcony have only a fraction of that, so there is definitely quality in numbers at TA (with so many girls, it would be surprising if there weren't any good ones at any point in time). Plus,these places occupy different time slots in the Rio schedule, anyway: go to MP during the afternoon, head to TA/Help afterwards, and stop by at Balcony afterwards. That's what many girls do.
As others have noted, prices have gone up quite a bit at Balcony for drinks and food, so it's not exactly cheap anymore (and the food isn't anything special). At the same time, MP is also ridiculously overpriced. The best prices for drinks and food, you actually will find at TA.
BTW, the place in front of Help is called Terraço Atlântico or Terraço Atlântica (they use both names in this joint). The inside restaurant is now called Veranda Help; the former name is "Veranda sobre as Ondas". I am just mentioning this because you may hear all those names: they all refer to the same place.
I still think that Balcony is worth a stop if you are in the area and as long as you don't get your hopes way up. Just stop by for a drink and see what's up.

I would not recommend going to a SAUNA: in Brazil, this term refers to a GAY place. Now a termas like 4X4, that's an entirely different story.

I don't remember the exact year but it was roughly 1983 that Help first opened its doors. It looks the same today as it did the day it opened, they may just paint and change the carpet from time to time.
I went to Help when it first opened and yes it was a straight club, no GDP's. My friends and I went there but we didn't speak Portuguese at the time so we didn't waste much time there, maybe we had a few drinks and left to find easier prospect along Ave Atlantica or the boites in Lido like Barbarellas which was expensive then too. There were other non GDP clubs in that area too at the time, for example in the Rio Othon Palace was a club called Crocodile and the Meridian hotel had the world famous Regines which was a private club but I always got in there. The current location of Barronetti there was a place called Hippopotamus which I went to many times, all good clubs but straight and very difficult to score.

Luana is 19 years old, and loves to suck. A lot. She sure didn't waste much time after walking in the door. 2 1/2 hours of fun, even though she should have stayed only 2 hours for 100 Reais. I do really like the Dominos pizza method rather than the Hunter/Gatherer method. 2 hours at my place is more fun than 30 minutes in a little room. I'm just not a big fan of the "phone ring, so stop fucking". Luana supposedly lives in Flamengo, and the taxi drive was supposedly 45 Reais to get to Barra. Total damage 190 Reais for round trip taxi and 2 hours of fun. I love Brasil.
