One weird situation. Anything can happen to make the girl unavailable. I would always recheck on the day of the booking to make sure, the girl is in Bangkok, is working, doesn't have period, etc. And that the booking is still okay.

You never know if a girl is working on a given day for sure until she is actually present in the shop. If a girl is expected at a particular time to arrive for work, I always ring them again to check she actually showed up, and avoided the traffic jam. This may be more relevant to in house bookings.

Perhaps bargirls are much less reliable to show up. For example, raining often causes them not to show up. Exactly why that is I am not sure. They seem to believe they will not be able to get to work without catching a virus, if it is raining.

The difference between a Soapy and an Oily can be confusing to newbies, and even to more experienced..

The essential differences that occur to me right now
1. In a Soapy house, a significant part of the session (could be more than 50%) is spent in a bathtub or Jacuzzi, with a girl, getting the customer all clean and scrubbed, (this could happen at some Oilies), before moving to the bed for sex. So a lot of the time gets sort of wasted.
2. In a Soapy establishment, there is normally provision for the customers to sit around looking at the line up of girls continuously for a very long time, before choosing one or more, and usually multiple cheer persons (papasans, mamasans) are there to help with the selection. Soapy line ups are some times seated behind glass panels to insulate the girls and customers form hearing each other. You could drink something or even eat before making a selection.
3. Oily massage usually provides Oil, Gel, Lotion massages. These may not be available at a Soapy. Soapies favour Thai Massage or no massage at all.
4. Oily rooms are often quite small. Soapy rooms should be larger generally.

Devils Den dialed it way back, Eden Club is password protected, and many are less vivid in describing services offered. Plus some have even taken their websites down temporarily depending on the heat of the moment.

Tulip does not have a website, so is lacking in basic information. At least shops like Snow White / Mango / Bamboo ect have a structured web presence to provide some basic information.

Went to Tulip yesterday about 2:30 pm. Hoping for Opor or View but nada. About 8 girls available I picked someone I hadn't seem before for a 90 min session. Yes, you are right about this. Boss is quite strict with her ladies. But Tulip is still the most successful soapy from the Farang orientated soapies on Sukhumvit. The girls at least have a chance to get a decent amount of customers per day which is not a given in the other shops. They also have to pay the shop 3000 Baht if they want to take a day off aside from their normal day in the week. The 300 Baht tip at least takes care of their overheads. I have just been comparing with my girl what she netted at Tulip in comparison to working in Malaysia. After paying the agent and the flight she actually made the same money at Tulip than in Malaysia without the risks.

I read on a past post that the 1500 b that you give the girl is all hers. Wrong, in talking to one of the worker bees she told me that the girls have to pay the house 250 b for each customer +150 b per day for electricity and water to wash your dirty asses. So any tip over the 1500 would greatly help these ladies defer her the cost of giving you a great service. Meaning if you tip 300 b that you actually goes to the girl actually goes to the house. I think it would be very rare for a girl to make 1500 per session without additional tips. Amounts varying between 1100 and 1400 would be typical (after fees paid to the shop). I can't give an exact amount list for various shops. "New Massage" girl claimed to get about 1100 (or could have been 1200) out of the all in fee, from memory (it's a few months ago). Annies girls certainly do not get 1500. Can't remember exact amount, but should be quite a bit lower.

I am too shy to give a token tip as low as 100. Girls expect me to be able to afford more than that. More likely I would give 100 tip to the drinks delivery girl if I like the service.

For good service an MP girl is worth 1500 or more. They had no pay rise for many years while gogo girls are making much more for delivering much less. So I tip MP girls accordingly. For many gogo girls I vary the payment too depending what I feel is fair. Not that high a percentage of girls negotiated a fee beforehand.

So, yes, the system is more or less the same in these shops. Depending how many customers a day a girl services she gets a rebate on the "massage fee". How this exactly works is too complicated to explain and not really of interest to this community. Fact is as Syzygies has pointed out the extra gratuity is a welcome addition for the girls making them whole on what we perceive is their service fee. Personally I find 100 Baht miserly and will always tip 300 - 500 Baht depending on the level of service I have received. Mango, SW, Cherry are all operated by former Tulip girls. Bam the owner of Bamboo is ex Mango. So, yes, the system is more or less the same in these shops. Depending how many customers a day a girl services she gets a rebate on the "massage fee". How this exactly works is too complicated to explain and not really of interest to this community. Fact is as Syzygies has pointed out the extra gratuity is a welcome addition for the girls making them whole on what we perceive is their service fee. Personally I find 100 Baht miserly and will always tip 300 - 500 Baht depending on the level of service I have received. At the same time if I find that the service has not been to expectations I don't tip at all! That has only ever happened with one lady at Tulip. But I will not mention her name.Never tipped a Baht in any of the oilies. Always get great service from my regulars.

In denial, big time. Sure it's all stories. Believe what you want. I was already nice to Cat. So her revelation had no influence on me whatsoever in terms of how I acted or what I paid. It only came when I asked her about what percentage of customers were assholes. I expected her to say that at least her regulars were fairly nice, but not so, only some of them.

Of course pretty girls don't have to give anal. LOL They don't like it, and still had regulars despite refusing it. A percentage of customers are not butt obsessed. Simple answer is no. They probably assume there are not many bad attitude girls. Girls sometimes do recommend other girls though.

They do ask about other girls in a different way. Girls are always keen to know which other girls in shop that you have done. Its useless to lie since they hear the gossip anyway. If I mention some other girl, then I might be asked if the other girl was good, but not really focussing on the topic of "bad attitude". I might mention I liked the other girl because of X or I did not go for her because of Y.

So I guess girls do want know how they stack up against the competition. I am always happy to tell a girl in which ways she is better than other girls tried. Positive reinforcement for the good behaviours.

In a bar situation, you can ask a girl you know really well, about some other girl. She can then give a thumbs up, or a thumbs down (not recommended). Occasionally ask the waitress (known long time) about dancing girls. They usually have a pretty good idea. You don't get the same bullshit you might get from a Papasan in a soapy. Sadly because in-house training is rarely provided her initial knowledge will come from listening to her more experienced successful peers and from on the job experience. As with any chosen profession success will be a combination of attitude and aptitude. While knowing no two customers are exactly the same I agree with your advice on listening to customers (language difficulties permitting) on what they like and how they like it and building on that to eventually perfecting a routine which provides a full menu of services.

My own wish list includes a cheerful disposition, good grooming, keeping in shape especially important for the older providers and a sensual massage as part of delivering a great sexual experience. On the other side of the coin I would simply say she is entitled to be respected and to the Cheap Charlie's why not tip her a little extra on your way out.

There's some confusion due to the fact that "massage" itself officially costs 400/600/800, and the mandatory "service fee" for the girl is 1500 (all-in, multiple pops, no upsells) in addition to that. The "massage" fee is mostly fiction, it does not reflect the split between the venue and the girl, though they do let some customers pay the 400/600/800 upfront + 1500 afterwards. Theoretically, perhaps you could get a plain oil massage at Tulip for 400/ h, but nobody would be too happy about that.
