I've tried very hard to stay out of all the bullshit on the forum. I understand that the forum is currently going through a new cycle. The newbie reports are very good now so I just play the sidelines.

I don't want to wade to much on the negativity currently on this board. But I can no longer remain silent. Jao has his opinion and I feel what he is saying, but there are many things that go on behind the scenes that most people don't know about. I wanted to get other veterans who no longer post here, and I consider my mentors, opinions on Mr Pooter.

I asked them is it white guilt that is Mr Pooters motivation to gravitate to the Haitians and from the Dominicans? Their response shocked me. Please understand that these are guys that know the "Real deal". And I had my doubts about his sincereity.

Mr Pooter is much more than just a blog poster. He is heavily involved in the community, for the Haitians. I don't want to tell much of his business, but I will tell some so people will judge fairly. Mr Pooter sponsors a Haitian school from what I was told. He also invested in FOD resort that many mongerers visited. And three people told me that if they got in a jam that Sir Charles would be the man they would call on the North Coast to get out of trouble. They also say that when he retired he gravitated instantly to the Haitian community. And I know a few Haitian girls who say he is genuine.

Sure his old fashioned British ways rub people the wrong way, but to many people he an asset on the North Coast.

There is not the slightest chance of the euro collapsing for the following reasons:

1) The eurozone is running at a profit. It exports more than it imports, unlike the US. There is no basic underlying problem. Unlike the US, the eurozone is solvent. The top court in Canada's Ontario province on Monday legalized pimping and brothels in an attempt to make prostitution less dangerous for those employed as sex workers.

The landmark decision noted that prostitution is very dangerous and existing laws prevented sex workers from banding together and hiring security guards.

Starting in 2013, sex workers will be able to work together in a brothel in any part of the province, the newspaper reported. On April 25, prostitutes will be able to hire body guards, the court decided.

Communicating for the purposes of prostitution will still be illegal, according to the judgement, the newspaper reported. Keeping this part of the current law in place will likely help assuage fears that the new laws will encourage sex workers into overtly propositioning clients in public, the newspaper added.

Apparently JetBlue does not screen their pilots and crew thoroughly. They have an incident like this that makes the headlines every other year (2008, 2010, and now 2012) :

Jetblue is ranked 4 stars on Skytraxx.

American Airlines and Continental Airlines (both headquartered in Texas) are ranked 3 stars on Skytraxx. American Airlines filed for bankruptcy. My last trip on American Airlines was worse than any Jetblue flight I have taken. Continental, when I flew years ago, last row in coach, EWR to SDQ, was not pleasant.

Jetblue pilots that I have had, on flights I have taken, have been cheerful and nice.

Jetblue is headquartered in New York.

Jetblue has more flights from New York to Santo Domingo, than AA or Continental. If the prices are the same or close to each other, I will fly Jetblue.

You mention 3 incidents on Jetblue? (one incident you quote seems to be air canada) How many Jetblue flights have flown during the last 4 years? My guess, tens of thousands.

If you want to fly American or Continental, I don't care. Jetblue has bigger seats with more space, than coach in American or Continental.

Medellin.

Alot of people have been asking about Medellin so I thought I would post my first visit there in 2010. My loyalty is to the DR and my fellow posters so this is appropiate.

Medellin:

Started the day with a two hour morning walk. The fresh air after a rain, along with the uphill walks, give the lungs a needed boost.

Woke the fellas up at noon for our field trip. After a 17min down hill walk arrived at Poblado metro station. Paid the 3k fare and headed to San Antonio station. On the metro we stand out like a crooked titty. I'm in brown loafers, light brown jeans, brown laren polo shirt, and fake Versace sunglasses. Upon arrival at SA, walked out of the metro into an open air flea market. Fresh fruit, shoes, hats, cell phone minutes etc. Beautiful women everywhere. A few guys get something to eat while I people watch. It seems Colombian people are very focused and on a mission. No taking your time and bullshitting around like in the DR. After a couple hours there returned to the house, killed a couple Heinekens and watched latin videos on channel 79.

Met the fellas at Parque Lleras, a place called Cacao. It was a corner lot and great for sight seeing. They also had a live band. Two Cuba Libres cost 19kcop.

Mayorista:

Left Cacao's at 11pm in a taxi. A few minutes later we made a right to go under an overpass. To my left I see two homeless people. To my right I see two tricks in a dark corner. The two cabs emptied and we paid 7k to each driver. The air was no longer fresh. I see seedy hotels with sinister people lurking around. The girls had battle scars, tight hoochie outfits, shit I even saw a couple grandma's tricking. We were now in the gutter, but I'm a gutter guy.

Next to Playa hotel is a disco called Ver something. Reggaeton music was playing, with limited lighting. There appeared to be one way in and one way out. Because of this I grabbed a table outside for now. Ray is a New york born but now living in Miami, Puerto Rican. He speaks the best spanish and is fearless. He goes in with the other guys, then comes and gets us. He picks two tables in the center but I see two tables against the wall that are better. Everyone has a seat but Ray, who is acting like our security guard. We tell him the play doesn't call for that and he chills. I got Paoula's number for a backup later. After a couple hours we leave and head to Sandiego strip club.

Sandiego grill:

At Sandiego, the bosses watch the girls like hawks. Natalie finishes dancing and asks me for a propina. I give her a 10k note and some of my rum. After a couple hours of drinking and watching Natalie, I tell her to take my number and call me tomorrow for an afternoon delight. She says no and pushes my phone away from her. My boy then whispers to me that the girls are being watched. She reaches under the table and I pass her my phone. She disappears into the bathroom for ten minutes. I'm glad I didn't have any valuable numbers on it. Well the club is closing and were there waiting for a couple guys to finish fucking. The lights came on in the club reminding us to get the fuck out. We finally leave and I see six dancers huddled up like they were calling a football play. I move to say good night to Natalie, but my boy stops me and said the game is on and my girl was playing. We leave in our two cabs never looking at the girls. Fifteen minutes after we arrive home the taxis with the girls arrive. They ask us to pay the taxis and we all retire. There was no break in period, these girls were running their play and the clock was ticking. Great sex, BBBJ, mish, doggie, and reverse cg. Natalies pale white skin with pink erect nipples still excites me. After sex I fell asleep only to be awaken by steady knocking. Hanging with a newbie J:

After 18 times to Sosua, I still don't know how to come out the gate. I always jump in the deep end and have to backstroke. I'm 4 days in and finally getting my second wind. Yesterday I watered myself down no alcohol. I ate breakfast at NG at 10am and Ollies chicken sandwich at 9pm No big meals. An older guy named Ernest (RIP) once told me" If you take one good shit a day and wake up with a hardon your body is working good". I'm fully recharged and I haven't got on Cialis yet.

I'm reluctant to post alot of names and pics (stay tuned) because I'm still here and don't need any bullshit. But I met a newbie on the plane that is quite interesting.

I'm sitting in the rear of the plane with a brother two seats over and no one between us. I'm listening to my ipod spanish lesson when he strikes up a conversation. He is wide eyed and excited and can't stop smiling, its his first time. I will call him J. He is going to BB for two days then NG. I give him the rundown and the time passes quick.

He arrives at NG and I'm at the bar hanging with Josey. He says Hello, and Josey goes to work on him but hes playing shy. I offer to buy him a drink but he refuses, either Josey intimidated him or he didn't want to hand out. He asks about an ATM and how much in pesos is 40usd, I say WTF and tell him to withdraw atleast a couple days worth of money. Well I don't see him again till later that night when I'm at 4 roses.

I'm at 4 Roses and Maria, Cecilia, Monica and the skinny black chick are working. He walks up and is having this weak conversation with the girls while sitting next to me. The girls keep asking him to buy a drink but his cheap ass just smiles and ignores them. I translate and he asks for a soda and asks how much it costs. The girls look at each other and I bust out laughing. Dude is cool but I have to give him the slip. I pay my bill and go to Latinos and Classicos then double back to 4 roses. There is a couple new fine girls working there that I'm trying to squeeze into the rotation (I will report later). Its 2am and J is walking down by Europa. I ask why he is down here this late and he replies he is looking for Rumba and El flow. Now I have to a have a man to man conversation with dude because he passed Rumba and El flow earlier. I've spent many a late night on that end waiting on chics to get off work and guys troll that end for different shit. Its off the beaten path and very secluded at 2am We talk for ten minutes with me repeatedly asking "what are you looking for?". Well I go to Latinos solo.

After one Cuba libre I head into Latinos disco. The DJ was jamming and I'm surveying my surroundings when I notice J ten feet away. His eyes are closed and he is dog humping this girl at the bar. The girl has a look like"somebody please help me". The waitress has to tell him to stop. I vacate latinos disco and go to the bar outside. Five minutes later and J taps me on the shoulder and says him and the girl are sitting behind me. The girl has the most disgusted look I have ever seen on a chick. It was like she was evaluating tricking because of J. He hadn't bought her one drink and was dry hummping her for the last hour. This is some pathetic shit and my clue to end this night.

Spent yesterday going to Puerto Plata to take care of some biz in the early afternoon. Then I called my Sosua favorita and asked her to come play house with me. We fucked, slept, and fucked again. I guess I'm getting old because as she slept she snored and drewled on my chest, in my younger days this wouldn't have been considered romantic. Had dinner at Casa Valeria. It was actually pretty good.

Hit Domino bar at 9; 30pm to get the night started. I'm sitting there and a police truck pulls up and 8 guys in camaflauge rambo outfits jump out with shotguns and yank two Haitian guys. One of the haitians daughter was crying and she kept holding her daddy. I thought someone should have removed her for her safety with all the weapontry around, but the police showed alot of compassion. An hour later I'm still at Dominos bobbing my head to the music, when J pops up out of nowhere like a bad dream. He starts showing me pics of the strip contest at blackbeard and various Sosua street gils. Its apparent that J is going to go back home and use these pics to up his player status with the fellas in the states. After 20 minutes J hasnt purchased a drink, actually the girls working there got tired of asking him. I leave and go to Latinos to start my path to Classicos. I had invited my dominican bodyguard up from Puerto Plata to have a few drinks and give a few pesos. He told me he had a surprise for me also. At 11:30pm he calls and asks where I'm at. I say latinos and he says meet him at Classicos. When I arrived he was at the bottom of the steps to Classicos, we hug and walk right in without paying. His new gig was doing security at Classicos.

Also just so everyone knows as of next week smoking will be banned inside Classicos.

I get a booth by door as Don Omars music plays. After 30 minutes J walks in with a girl (WHAT). I put my head down hoping he doesn't see me. He actually gets a table and orders two beers (WHAT). I go to the bathroom and J is dancing with his girl spanish style. All of the sudden J spins his girl and they are spanish dancing like two professionals. Everyone stops and looks. J has either been practicing with the youtube videos or he was pro taught.

Its getting late and I'm headed to the hotel passing Rockys but its still more Sosua games to be played. There is this one chick who doesn't go to the bars or discos, that is light skinned, long hair, pretty toes and a little gut. Her hustle is to catch guys returning to the hotel solo who might be having second regrets. She speaks a little english and approached me in front of Terra linda. She said 2k for TLN and was exciting my dick with her hands. Damn I wanted it but I passed. I walked away with her saying"please poppi".

BBL is on the way from LA have to get ready.

"Sosua Bay Resort" is closed one minute and deserted with a few guest's next. New Garden's s possibly up for sale. Seacret's not reopened. And the beach still slow. Savepros and I have been talking about these topic's behind the scene's.

Sosua Bay Resort:

Great location near the beach with ocean view's. Room's are a little outdated but the resort is very nice. The owner own's several other buisinesses in Sosua. To have such a huge hotel with a beachfront location closed must have some effect on the rest of Sosua.

Now Sosua is a weekend party town. I alway's said Classico's is the"Last man standing". If Classico's goes or changes it's music format, the transformation will be almost complete. But the brother's are dropping too much money in Classico's on the weekend's to let this cash cow stop. The owner will fight to protect his "Golden Goose' but with the hotel under stress, we will now see if there is fallout.

Maybe some business major's can add some light to this topic. Is Sosua a good investment at this time? Can a buisiness survive with only a weekend crowd? Would you feel comfortable dealing with the Dominican's as an investor?I think a lot of businesses in Sosua are operating on razor-thin profit margins (as with all restaurant and hospitality (hotels) businesses), and the 2010-2011 crackdown may have been the "straw that broke the camel's back" for most of these places. Most of them probably never foresaw anything like this taking place and definitely weren't prepared for it.

Apparently the "family model" they were promoting wasn't bringing in "the big bucks" as fast as they hoped (don't know how they assumed they could turn "Puta-land" into "Disneyland" overnight) , so they (the people in charge) probably punted after feeling the heat coming down on them from local business owners who were bleeding cash (and who were also probably promised that this "change" would have them making money hand-over-fist" once instituted).

Your best best bet will be to go to the beach sit at any bar and ask for MAPELLO, he's a very light skinned dominican guy wearing a baseball cap and is PACKING, He is known and trusted by everybody on the beach and will give you the absolute best rate. Ask around and see. He will even come to your hotel lobby or room to exchange. Well trusted coming from MHL. IN a bind? Late night? Use banco popular with a no fee credit card. Not the best rate but it wasn't that bad either and you can withdraw a large amount.

SSWherever you are in the world, you ask for the rate prior to giving the cash. Most places that I use in the Dominican Republic, including Western Union when I rarely use them, will give a calculator tape before taking your money. Just ask. They do not want problems any more than you do. They will only not do this if the electricity is out. In this case, pull up the calculator app on your cell phone, and tell them in Spanish to enter the exchange rate. You can do the math.

I have found that Western Union usually offers about the best rate, and am quite surprised to hear that the Europa hotel has better rates. The only slight disadvantage with WU is that you have to take your passport for I'd. In any case the exact rate of exchange may not make a huge difference. Supposing you change US $1000 and one dealer offers 39 pesos and the other 40 pesos, you would only be $25 better off. However this is an extreme example with a large amount, and it is doubtful whether the guy at the beach would offer a whole peso better than WU. Maybe 1/2 peso.

I could be wrong and would be willing to stand corrected by anyone on the ground who has today's rates for both WU, the Europa, and the beach guy available.

In any case, in my experience the WU rates always beat the change bureaus or street corner guys, but not by a whole peso.

Also note your exchange rates may vary a bit by amount. For example, you will get a better rate for US$200 or more than you will if you just tender US$20.

I don't have any experience with other currencies, so I don't know if this holds true for WU with the Loonie, the pound, or the euro.

With the ATMs you usually have to pay a $2. 75 fee for each 10, 000 pesos or smaller amount, so that adds on at least 1 per cent. Last week I got 10, 000 pesos for US$261 so that is a rate of 38. 3 pesos not counting the ATM fee. Western Union is definitely better than that, though their online currency converter is showing 38. 14 right now, but I think you can get a better rate for cash on the ground.

Thanks. I will probably just check in at Europa, pay in USA dollars, then get enough pesos from the Europa to get around for a day. My next stop after check in will be the beach. I told Big-D I would walk there (he says its 16 minutes to his place from Europa) to get the combo plate (2 ribs and 1/2 chicken) for 325 pesos. While there, I will ask around for Mapello and get some more cash changed over. Don't want to change over too much cash in Europa given girls will be hanging around watching, I assume!

I am a fairly frugal person and just hate the fact that my lack of knowledge of a place could lead to the loss of even a few dollars. Once it is lost, no biggie, but I always like to go into a situation well prepared. We all get taken advantage of, at times, and life is unfair, but I get mad with myself when I fail to prepare and then get taken by somebody.

Fragrancia still exists but has moved next door since 2008. They and the adjacent bar usually employ butt ugly chicas who appeal only to Dominicans, but you do find the occasional diamond in the rough (including the best chica I have ever found in the DR out of many hundreds sampled over six years). When I lived nearby I would drop in to both maybe four times a week and maybe took out a chica once a week. Not all those were successful but I never paid more than 1000 pesos for short-time (which is still more than the locals pay) so I didn't mind the occasional dud. Not a place to spend your time in if you only have a couple of days in Puerto Plata unless you enjoy dancing bachata and merengue. They are kind of fun if you like slumming occasionally, but are not for the fastidious. One of my friends said he had "lost the will to live" after visiting the baño there, whereas other friends include a visit there in every trip.

Very intrigued by Hotel Kevin. The red pointer on the location map shows it way up in the backstreets in the middle of nowhere, away from the city centre and a long way from the playa, but the address given is Calle Juan Bosch which is very central and convenient and only 5 minutes walk to the Malecon. If the former location is correct you will need to be comfortable with riding motoconchos otherwise you will be spending a fortune on taxis. If the latter be prepared for a deafening racket 7 days a week from 5am in the morning until 2am at night. It is obviously a hotel for Dominicans not for tourists. Be prepared for no hot water and the A / C to either not work or be charged extra.

If I were visiting Puerto Plata I would stay instead at Field of Dreams (which has this week experienced yet another change of regime and is dropping the silly "Whitebeards" name). You can get a nice room there for US$40, your belongings would be safe, you would have gringo support if you needed, it's peaceful at night (and always), and you ride into the city centre for the same 25 pesos as a moto would charge you from Hotel Kevin. I wouldn't risk catching bubonic plague and losing my money and passport for US$15 difference a night, apart from the vast difference in comfort and amenities.

By the way, the pictures show Puerto Plata beach. I live two minutes away and go past several times most days. I rarely see gringos on the beach or in the water and there are reasons for that. If you like beach in your holiday go to Sosua or Cofresi.

And, despite the close relation between the two, Spanish speakers, in general, cannot comprehend Portuguese, while Portuguese speakers tend to understand Spanish. Being semi-literate in Portuguese I am in a kind if middle ground. I can understand things in Spanish but lack the skill to respond in a timely manner!

Just some quick ramblings I'd like to share with the board now that I am sober:

-There were only a handful of guys I could possibly identify as mongers on the airplane yesterday. Definitely not a plane full of them like in March when I usually come here. May might just turn out to be my new favorite month (to visit). But it's probably just that I've beaten the "Weekend Crew" down here by a day or two.

-Got a rate of 38.95 at Western Union yesterday. By far the best rate I've seen yet. Just for fun, on the way to baggage claim at POP I asked the Cambio guy how much they were offering and he replied "28-". Stopped listening after I heard "28", LOL.

-Rained off and on thought yesterday evening and then like crazy last night. None of that stopped the party though (fucked up my jeans crossing the street between El Flow and Rumba Bar though. Was like crossing through a river stream). Ratio in Classico's last night was at least 5 to 1 (even before I left with a chica around 12:45). Lots of hot hot hot chicas present; just not enough leche, tiempo, (or pesos) to give to them all.

-Merengue Bar no longer seems like the evening spot to hang at anymore. Was there around 6ish and there were at least three policemen standing around in front. Chicas would not even walk past the place! -New Garden still has the best damn breakfast in Sosua. Since I am not staying there I paid 210 pesos for the toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, and orange juice. Still the same predictable crowd at NG though. I could hear these dudes yuck'in it up well before I got to the entrance. One of them yelled out "I'm training (fitness training?) to bang everything!"

-Out of the three chicas I was with last night my internet connect turned out to be the greediest. Broad got me for a glass of "vino tinto" while she was waiting for me to finish eating. Also wanted the most pesos despite not being the hottest of the three.

When you pay 300 pesos for a massage the girls gets 180 pesos and the house (proprietor) 120 pesos (60%/40%). If she delivers extras theoretically she gets to keep it for herself, but proprietors may try to get a cut too. Saturday overall was a very good day talent-wise. This is actually not my routine, but one that I follow from a website called Muscle & Strength.com. It is a 3 day split, but so far I have only been able to do the Monday & Wednesday routines:

Although it says it is a workout for beginners, I have been making impressive gains using only this routine. The only changes I made to it is instead of the Lying Tricep Extensions (Skullcrushers) I do dumbbell tricep kickbacks. For the Tricep Dips and Wide Grip Pull Up (Wednesday) I always use the machine assist that has you place your knees on the pad and also has the weights + pin.

I never spend any more time than I have to in the gym. There is a such thing as over-training. You also need to focus on progression every time you work out (moving up in weight after completing the recommended number of reps).

I also do an ab exercise at the end of each gym session, and a back exercise on at least one gym day after my workout (I like to do Barbell Deadlifts).

BE SURE to read all of the comments that people leave at the end of this article because there is a guy named Steve that answers almost every question you could possibly think about asking him. Will be very helpful because you will definitely see someone ask a question that you were thinking about.

The real trick to seeing gains is diet and supplementation. If you are not consuming enough protein when you work out then you are wasting your time. Read these quick guides to get an idea of what you should be doing:

Honestly, my diet is shit. But I take in enough protein to where I am still putting on muscle. Currently I am consuming about 300+ grams of protein per day, mostly though Whey and Casein shakes. My meals look something like this:

-When I wake up: One scoop of Whey with 2% milk

-Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with either bacon or sausage (seriously) , and 2 slices of honey wheat toast

-Mid-afternoon: 1 Scoop of Casein

-Lunch: Whatever is close. Usually at school so I have to eat the crap there. Usually go with 2 Chicken Snack Wraps from Wendy's

-Pre-workout: 1 Scoop of Whey mixed with 1 Scoop of Casein

-Post-workout: 2 Scoops of Whey immediately after leaving the gym

-When I get home from the gym: Either a ham sandwich or PBJ sandwich on honey wheat

-Dinner: Usually pasta (Ziti) with sauce and ground beef or (I hate chicken breast) Chicken breast with long grain wild rice

-Before bed: 1 scoop of Casein

I only use ON (Optimum Nutrition) Gold Standard Whey (with the red and green label) and ON 100% Casein (with the blue label). You can get them cheaper at Amazon.com instead of from ON or GNC. Amazon will also list 3rd party sellers and their prices as well. Never had a problem with any of them (Amazon will bear down the wrath of God on your behalf if so), but sometimes cheaper means it takes longer for your order to arrive at your doorstep.

Before going to the DR last week I started using Creatine, but the Monohydrate version was making me shit like crazy so I stopped using it. Going to try the Kre-alkalyn pill form instead.

I use the MyNetDiary Pro App on my iPhone to track my protein and calorie intake, and an app called Fitness Buddy to create custom workout routines (the one I listed above from the Muscle and Fitness website). It also comes pre-loaded with a ton of work outs as well.

I decided to walk down Dr. Rosen (the street where Rockys and New Garden are located) today to get a massage. There are about four or five Haitian Jack Shack massage parlors in the area. Ouch! I won't speak for Gogo, but I think what he meant is there is no other place where you can party like that at such a low cost. Have you been to NY, Miami, or Vegas lately? I have and surely the pure partying aspect is much better, but there is also a good chance that you will spend a bunch of money and go home with your dick in your hand. Hookups do happen, but it is not easy. I don't think I need to mention how expensive and terrible the hookers are.

Plus, you have the velvet rope bs or grease the palms to get in clubs with cover charges starting at 40. And bottles at $400!

Sosua is more expensive to fly into (for some) , bur that us offset by cheap lodging, food, drinks, and entertainment. I'm not just talking here, I compared previous trips to US cities against Sosua and Sosua wins every dingle time.

I do feel Sosua is the best bang for your buck. I haven't seen all of the western hemisphere so I have no opinion on that matter.

I gather that I am one of the people that you are referring to, so let me explain my reasoning.

My first three trips when I went to Sosua, I hung out, and still do at Latino, now some other fucking name. I got really close with the staff, maybe a bit too close to the stalking blond bartender. But, one of the guys I was closest to, was Juan, a server and bouncer in the night club. The guy looked out for me, made recommendations, and even fetched women for me when I asked,"What do you think?" He also gave me the "Thumbs down" on a few that I pulled alongside (sailor talk). And he did this just because I bought him a drink or two. Juan had become a friend.

When I went to Sosua in November, I found out that the new management let Juan go and he had been jobless for the over a month. My heart went out to him and his family, so I told him he was now working for me. And I gave him whatever I thought was appropriate for the evening, which wasn't much, but it made a difference to him; which was more important. The night that Patricia almost started a riot, he came through like a champ, tackling 3 people like the once alive Junior Seau would have. And in April, I did the same thing, not out of need for security, but out of friendship.

Hell, I've been traveling for an awful long time without someone like Juan. But to be honest, I will be in El Salvador tomorrow night, and it would be nice to have a friend like Juan alongside.

The price has not changed much over the years. In Dec they were asking for the world but would settle for 1000 st. No reason to pay more. As far as partying I agree with you that Sosua gets high marks, and I've been to quite a few places myself. The only other place I found where I had a blast was in Vegas in the old days when the Boys ran the town. We would pull up with a junket from my town, and it was awesome. I cut my teeth mongering in SD. I know how to have a great time there. Where to stay and where to go no problem. IMHO Sosua blows the doors off SD. Sosua is the uncut mongering heaven. For cost and convience I can not beat Sosua. South and central America, Thailand are great. However look at the cost of your plane ticket and the women. In Sosua your are banging young hot girls for 30 to 50 bucks. The variety of sexy women is awesome. They come from all over the island. Not to mention you can find college girls picking up some cash for school. Not all hard core chicas. The ambience of casas, anywhere in the world is a turn off for me. This is my first time in the dr but I am here for over a month. I am in brazil five times a year and Tijuana ten or more (I used to live there for ten years). I think gogo makes a good point about the merits of sosua. It is a short flight from the USA. Brazil requires an overnight flight. The airfare is high because of the butt tax. The airlines always jack up rates to monger towns.

Out of the Monger towns, Tijuana has the best air rates. Lots of cheap flights into San Diego.

Prostitution is open and legal here. Rio is the same. Tijuana forces you to stay in a few blocks which gets boring after awhile.

Cost for women is not bad at 1200 pesos to 3000 pesos average.

Rio is higher but it has lots of low cost options that beat both sosua and Tijuana. But then you pay 1500 us in airfare.

Quality of girls is below brazil, better than Mexico and darker than Costa rica.

If you want to party without spending much money, are fine with "black" women, then sosua is number one.

People simply vary in terms of what they find sexually attractive. Either a woman can sexually arouse you, or she can't. Personally it seems to me that those who can only become aroused by one type of woman are probably suffering from some kind of degree of sexual inhibition.

I have certainly had sex with my share of 10's, but I honestly cannot say that the sex is objectively better than with 7's. 8's, or 9's, because ultimately it is all about chemistry between two individuals and often a good personality match is worth more than a great body.

my santo domingo beat down:

arrived sdq noon thursday 23rd. after getting luggage they have this long runway with people on both side's waiting. it's the closest i'll get to being a celebrity. at the end of the runway i see a guy holding an advertisement for gogo taxi. my stupid ass smiled thinking someone sent a taxi for me. the problem with that is no one knew i was coming. passed gogo taxi and negoitiated a 35usd taxi ride to palacio.

i tried to write direction's down, ocean on left, past naval academy. then he went thru a maze of one way, over the hill, do a you-turn street's. arrive palacio hotel at 1pm. great hotel, nice owner, courteous employee's. the ancient design with modern decor was fabulous. well worth 62 a night. went to el conde then the park to people watch. (damn i'm writing this as i travel metro bus sd-sosua, and all these fine chick's just got off at santiago). anyway left the park and got a call from jaososua. hooked up with him and he gave me the tour. stopped at 360, gpb, la prada, lapus etc.

So, with that out of the way. I'm happy as hell to be back here. I've been gone for about 6 months and I have done about the same in foundation work with online chicas and maintaining preexisting relationships.

I gave them 100 peso tip when We arrived at Aparta-Hotel Pino frente el mar $31 USD a nite in Santo Domingo Este. Although the people were nice, they gave me the best room in the place and the pool was fucking amazing, I can't recommend this place with a clear conscience for the following reasons. 1) The area is not that nice and considered slightly unsafe by locals 2) The place was very dated and in heavy disrepair 3) I had a balcony overlooking the pool but the door didn't lock so every time I left in the back of my mind I was thinking all my shit was gone forever, not a good feeling. I picked this place for 2 reasons because they claimed I could have an ocean view with a balcony, but that wasn't the case. Then it was in SD Este so I thought I would be easier for chicas to get to me, again not the case. 1) No one has ever heard of that hotel and many chicas go to school near or in the Zona colonial so, it is better to stay in Gazgue or la Zona because they are coming here anyway for school work or just to hangout. Lesson learned.

Chicas. 4 hours after my arrival I was able to get one of my chicas to come thru. Short morena with pretty hair and a killer smile an ass like a fucking dump truck! MY fav! The girl is always happy. As a Rio veteran I will concur with the belief that the entrance fee kept out certain types of women. Help was first and foremost a disco. So you even had regular girls there, too. However, given that the highest quality of Copacabana women died down with the rise of their economy around 2006, it is not clear why Balcony has worse looking women. The fact that Brazil is now the 8th largest economy in the world probably lead to the death of rampant prostitution more than anything else.

By the way Balcony is not a disco but a restaurant. It is not the new Help and has never attempted to be one. The only similarity is that lots of gringos go there to get fleeced!

She worked for a non-profit in Dublin for 3 years then went back home to Rio for 2 years during which time she could not find a job. For the last year and a half she has been working for the same non-profit in Canada and has applied for residency there because there are no hopes of getting a good job back home.

Seeing shit like that makes see how vulnerable we can be. I remember when I got into it with a guy in SDQ 3am, roads empty, I accidentally cut him off on Lincoln not to far from 27 de Febrero, he cussed me out when he pulled next to me. I responsed with broken spanish but spoken and a way he couldn't defect my american accent. He then procceeded to cut me off for a quarter mile. When I turned he made sure to turn in front of me as to block me in. I practically slowed to 25 miles an hour. He eventually got bored then left. I circled the block around the apt I was renting to make sure he was acctually gone. Then it dawned on me if I DIAL 911. NO ONE IS COMING. From That point on I was ever more thoughtful of my action. I no longer felt like a privelaged tourst, no I felt like a local that was always on guard.

PEACE BBL.Armed robberies are part of daily life here in the D. R. In the province of San Christobal 6 people were murderd yesterday. The single most important advice I can give to anybody is to never fight back, do not even try to, let them take your stuff which is replaceable. Look down on the ground, do not try to look into peoples faces in case you get robbed, this can get you killed here, these guys do not want to be indentified in case they should ever get arrested.

Here in the D. R. Alot of the police force are involved in some kind of criminal activity, drugs, money laundering, armed robberies.

There are certain things which one can do in order to be safer, do not carry alot of money with you, no jewelery, camera, do not flash with money, being able to get on a plane to come to the D. R. Give them all they need to know, do not get completely drunk.

I repeat do not fight back, this guys have nothing to loose, and they do not give a fuck if they have to kill somebody.

I know way to many stories about people who lost their life over nothing at all.

This resort in Puerto Plata is having a great deal now. I've heard It's 299 for a month. The reviews are mixed. Personally I probably wouldn't stay there, but I'm sure some guys here might like it. Perhaps Sir Charles can enlighten us.

Great location, excellent pool, good price, good value for money. There is a bar on site and also a small restaurant and snack bar open from breakfast to afternoon that is definitely sub-par for food quality and overpriced.

The apartments are nice, but the kitchens are a bit inadequate. Overall the accommodations and furnishings are somewhat better than the mongering places in Sosua, as long as the water and electricity are in service. Also it can get loud noise sometimes from people experimenting with their disco equipment while parked at the end of the Malecon.

Most of the bad reviews are from non-mongers, so take that into account, because they probably wouldn't have much good to say about New Garden or Europa either.

Location is good, right opposite the Kite beach for kitesurfing. I believe you can rent equipment and get lessons. Short motoconcho ride to La Sirena. Walking distance to the Cristal Rio Club, and there are often prostitutes walking around the Malecon, especially in the evenings. Not as good as Sosua for bars and restaurants within walking distance. Puerto Plata is a sleepy place with not much going on.

This is the same science that I have put to my disco mongering pick up game. The girls are used to seeing me and know that I live here. They have heard nothing bad about me. When my plane landed in Miami I turned my phone on. I left a lot of bullshit behind and figured a trip would make it all go away, wrong. My phone has 82 text messages and 60 are from my Thai girl. I also have 42 missed calls and 30 are from her. My voice mailbox was full on purpose when I left for the trip. They both post up on different corners outside the bar waiting for me to leave licking their lips. I'm enjoying the show as I drink my final Cuba Libre. Julie has been checking this side show out and her boyfriend Sony is no longer around. Julie is thinking keep the money in the family. Anyway julie comes clean like I would have never expected. She says my Sosua name and says" I like cocaine and will do anything you want but don't tell anyone". I appreciated her honesty but my mind was thinking about what I just heard. Was this a setup, could I fullfill this fantasy, who would she tell, is Sony lurking around, did her sister tell her to fuck me. I do nothing but I get her number as I figure this out. My phone rings and its the Grand Velejo girl. The club is closing and she is headed to my hotel and wants to know if I'm there. After dealing with this wacked out night at this bar with the sister, the Haitian, and the Dominicana, a calm break was what I needed. I tell the GV girl 15 minutes and leave as all the girls look sad and roll their eyes. As I walk to my hotel to meet the GV girl I just shake my head and say" Only in Sosua".
