Thanks for the suggestion. I am flattered but not in a position to service my own thread. I don't live in Thailand and am not a full-time player like some of the guys. I have ladies there who I like to see (and photograph) when I am in town. I am happy to submit photos despite complaints by some members who don't seem to like some of my friends. My thought it is contribute with photos even though I am not in a position to assist in hooking people up. If people like my snaps, fine. If not, sorry about that. Don't look.

I appreciate your nod of approval, but my feeling is Khun Jackson needs to create fewer threads. And, he should move the "ex-pat" forum back here to the main Thailand thread!

Is not even close to what a farang considers beautiful. As you know. I have been invited to some very private gettogethers. And I have been a bit shocked at times to what a wealthy, not bad looking, youngish Thai male considers beautiful. Smart Thai guys realize that this difference exists and we sometimes play a game where they will pick what I consider the best looking girl. They are usually right. And when I ask how they feel about my choice. They say not for them. And we have a great laugh. Farang males who have seen me with these same girls ask where I found them and feel that they are very nice looking. I thank Buddha for this handling of the matter. As this could be an ugly situation if everyone wanted the same round faced, white skinned, short, mostly Chinese looking girls. That are "private stock" for some Thai businessmen.

Appreciate your comments. In my experience many upper class Thai men marry women who are acceptable to their families first and other considerations such as beauty are secondary. At least that it how it was in the past. Many marriages were semi-arranged for social, economic, or political reasons. Love comes later; sometimes not all. Wives are meant to be mothers. For sex, and sometimes, love men turn to their "little wives" (mia noi) which is often translated as "mistress" but is not the same as in the west (i.e. Europe). Most of my senior Thai friends, whether businessmen, politicians, or generals, have mia noi. I have met some of them and they are uniformly charming and usually beautiful. When a Thai chooses a wife it is with different criteria than choosing a mia noi.

Thanks for your comments. About the glass ceiling, I did not make that claim, nor do I endorse it. The title properly belongs, I suspect, to someone like Constantine Falcon, a Greek who, in the 17th century was the de facto Foreign Minister of Siam, or Sam White, an Englishman, who was the king's mandarin at Mergui. Those lads had their pick of hi-so puyings and so did many more over the following centuries. They all knew what they were doing.

Yes, the Grand Business Inn is in a great location and the restaurant is very nice. I enjoyed several stays there. But I've switched to the Adelphi Suites on Soi 8 for my last 5 or 6 visits. Similar great location, even better restaurant and rooms that are much nicer, larger and have good views for not much more. While the GBI is good, I now prefer the Adelphi. And Rosabieng is still close.

Do you know the Chinese duck restaurant at the mouth of soi 15? I have been going there for 40 years for roast duck. It is a landmark for good food. Don't know how long the old owner can last.

Kaintuck, you are correct. The difference depends on the size of room you take at the GBI. I was taking one of their 'higher end' or larger rooms and I think I was paying 2, 000 Baht or more. I get a studio at the Adelphi for 26-2800 Baht. I find the Adelphi much more modern, bright and new and I think the bit extra is worth it. Adelphi also provides an excellent breakfast included while you pay at GBI. Adelphi has free internet as well. But it's what suits you. As the girls say 'up to you. '

Passed through Bangkok recently after business in the region. Called my old friend and was lucky to find her in town from Europe visiting family. Although I only had six hours on the ground she insisted we meet which we did. She put me on the plane after no sleep and I slept like a log across the Pacific. I often prefer B&W although it means converting color when shooting digitally. I still use film when I can find it.

If you have spare $ you can go for some of the midrange or upmarket dSLR cameras which do reasonably fine at ISO as high as 16000 or even 32000 for some models. Technology is changing fast thee days. :)

Heart although I can't claim any special expertese with horses. In the decades I lived and worked in Indochina (with about one decade in Thailand) I have known many women and attached a longstanding relationship with a few. Dating back to my early days as a US Marine on Okinawa I came to conclusion that the most beautiful women were often the most trouble, a believe I hold to this day.
The woman whose photographs I share most often I a very pleasant lady I have known many years. I realize that some people don't like her looks and don't want to see more photos of her. Others have asked to see more which is why I continue to post them. If you won't want to see them, don't look. I only hope that on my next trip to Thailand she is still there.

I don't mind seeing her pics at all. In fact I always enjoy whatever pic, it's good to see different girls and rooms and styles. It's just that sometimes one wonders why a girl was chosen. You explained your POV well.
