Recently tried this Ni**o Herbal spa close to Maliban junction. Located in a seaside street which is directly opposite to the maliban factory.
I went in and there was a girl in reception, paid 1.2 K for a full treatment. When I asked about selections she said they are on a turn basis. Try to talk her in to allowing me to select a girl but that didn't work out. Didn't oppose hardly as it was only my first time there.
Anyway I was directed to a room and asked to get washed. Room had three doors! And one opened up to a corridor leading to the bathroom which has been shared with others as well. Anyways, I Saw this new advert on hitad of a place in dehiwala station road. It said they have Thai treatment and all that jazz. Called the no mentioned an the guy told me to come there and promised so much of treatments.
Went there to see the place in the evening. Had this bad feeling and I was right. There were 3 local women at the entrance itself. It was such a disaster that I came off. Don't even think of wasting your time to find that place.
I went ended up going to another new place in Mount. Will update in my next report.

Now back to live, recently I saw new spa in the Galle road between 3rd road and the biscuit junction. So decided pay a visit since I haven't visited recently. It was in the first floor and the steps were very steep. I thought to try mount boy's advice again so called the number which was in the door even though I was there. A man answered the call and didn't reply properly and cut the call. So went ahead to try my luck. There was a lady around mid thirties welcomed and told the prices. When I asked for selection she said only she is available and the other one is on leave. Since I'm not pleased I left the place. It is an office / shop space portioned with hardboard if I'm not mistaken there were 3 partitions. It is not spacious place, entire place would be around 15 feet*8 feet.
Since I was in mood I wanted to go to another, then a new board scams in to my mind which was near the big clock shop on the first floor. So went there and it was really awkward moment for me when I walked in to the place. It was a saloon and only one girl was there. I was really upset and somehow managed to ask prizes for color dying and came back quickly.
Then thought of another spa in the small by lane in the Galle road right opposite to the factory and went there. A doctor was available and a man and woman were in the reception. Lady told the prizes and I asked can I see the girls. Then she told they work in rotation and can't be chosen. I thanked and came out.
As I'm out of options went to 3rd road regular place and had a session which I was not satisfied at all. I will explain it in detail in my next post soon.

This was my first visit to their new place and haven't taken their services for nearly an year (I've visited them quite regularly earlier).

The girl I got gave fairly good service, but insisted on a tip of 1500. This was several months ago, and I was not tempted to go there again. I don't think tip-demanding is limited to this chain. About 80% of MP's in Colombo and suburbs have this tip-demanding culture. So we inquired about packages etc. And I asked where is the madam we have to discuss something.

They never ask for tips, but if you start giving 5 k, later they might ask from other customers as well. Normally everyone visit there tip 2 or 2.5 k. I have been visiting for past 3 years or more. TZ.Moratuwa sea side road which goes parallel to railway line there are few places around 3-4. Don't try any, I went those and had really bad experience. Most of the girls are greedy for money and few they don't know how to give massage.
Let me know if you know any good places around Moratuwa, Panadura or Rathmalana.

I asked how many therapist were available. She said something, but I couldn't understand. So asked her to repeat. She then shouts "One Phree, One Phree" (Some Sinhalese women cannot pronounce "F" so maybe that's why I didn't understand her before).
This "One therapist free" must be some code rather than saying we have one therapist working today at this time, they say "We have one free". I left immediately because of her attitude.
Then went to the one in the middle of Barnes Avenue. Don't know the name, but here's the location:

Went to the above place. Was greeted and was not given a choice (can't remember if I asked for selected) asked them to send a nice one. As I wanted to try out the saree fetish.
In came a voluptuous lady of around 35 years. Was friendly. And thought I have been there before. So straight away went ahead with the massage.
Place is not clean. Attached bathroom but wasn't really clean either. No hot water. Towels were old but seemed cleanish.
After about 20 min asked if a shake was needed and I asked for the price to which she replied you know what the rates are.
Popped the huge baloons out. Was given access to feel them. Didn't ask for access downstairs. Felt more could have been had if negotiated.
Got a shake and left.
Place: 3/10.
Massage: 4/10.
WIR: unlikely. Might if I can get a good referral.

Then she had no choice knowing that I know how things are working there and had to continue the massage.
She was pissed off but, I had a fairly good massage and left without giving any tip.
I had to stand my ground purely due to if our emotions did not keep on check we can get ripped off. Some mongers used to very high tipping.
