I think you have a different perspective. I have been in Banghok and Pattaya. I really remember some memories there. It is really a funny city both BG and PT. Really interesting. I have previously been to Artemis normally between 14th December to 21st as this all the time I can get for myself. There isn't much to worry about up to 2 weeks before Christmas I think. We will assume that most people here will lose their jobs if your caught with an escort at home and your photo makes it into the papers. So that leaves Montreal. I checked the agenda of the Bundestag, there wasn't even a sitting scheduled for that day, then I checked the order of business for the 3 following days (including today) and couldn't find anything either. Let's try to make an educated guess: Soi 6 has about 60 bars and Soi 6 is really the ACME of bar-streets in Pattaya. One would be hard pressed to find another street in Pattaya with a similar number of bars.
Between Beach Road and Second Road from the North to Walking Street, there are about 30 soi. A quick check with Google Street view shows that the average soi has about 15 to 20 bars in it It is impossible to say they are all girly bars. Some of them may even be more restaurant than bar, some of them may cater to ladyboys or gays, but for the sake of making a rough Fermi estimate, let's keep it to 20 bars per soi.
That would give these sois a total number of bars of about 700, which is pretty impressive.
Then add the bars along beach road (3 km). To err on the large side, say there are 3 bars per 100 m, then that gives you, give'and'take, another 100 bars. Second Road is less "bar heavy" but has two sides, so we add 150 more.

Don't go during rainy season (Sep-Oct) and during Songkran (1 week in mid-April, usually aligning with Romanian Orthodox Easter). From my research the best weather would be mid-Nov until end-March. It's humid as hell there.

I realize this was not an optimal time to visit, but I can't imagine that this place can ever come close to the Globe.

In Bangkok, with the exception of Baccara and Crazy House, I found what I would consider ladyboys prevalent in many clubs. I walked into Lollipop in Nana Plaza cause it was one of the few clubs I spotted without a ladyboy out front. First "girl" I see when I walked in was a ladyboy. imo there were more ladyboys than girls in Nana Plaza. Nevertheless, ladyboys are easily distinguishable for the most part. They are more aggressive and stronger than their female counterparts and their voices are not female. My other rule of thumb was no girls over 5'2" or so, without heels.

It is certainly possible that you are interpreting his statements in ways he did not intend them.
As a native English speaker, it is readily apparent to me that his statements are not always clear and may be interpreted in many different ways.
In any case, until Mr. Ho learns to express himself more clearly, perhaps we can simply appreciate the levity he brings to the forum and not jump to conclusions that he is being racist. Hell, maybe he is being racist, but I certainly can't with certainty come to that conclusion because his intended meanings are not all that clear (at least not to me).
